Crow's concentration was fully leveled on the rune he was casting in his mind and it continued to be so, even as Relius himself started chanting. Whatever the words were, they were of no mind to Crow. The rune words fell into order in his mind faster as he felt the pulse of excitement run through him, not knowing what was coming. It made the blood in his veins practically boil, in an odd choice of words. And just as Relius' own spell came, Crow's words were finished and before he could speak them, the Inferno came.
And Crow's smile faded even as the first flames began forming, but it was not one of fear. "Fire?"
And then the inferno blasted upwards. What Relius didn't know would definitely hurt him, however. The linen-wrapped blade currently lodged outside the arena wasn't in Crow's hands, certainly, but it's protections still extended as it was bound to Crow's soul in a very powerful way. It's suppressive effects weren't as strong as if Crow had been holding it, but it was enough to buy Crow time as the flames began to coil around him. The red barrier coating him gave him what he needed.
He practically screamed the rune word with no sound as a chilling wind gusted over. [Runeword: Aesir Rune! Greater Rune of Thor & Greater Rune of Isa; Valkyrie's Song!]
The bitter song of frozen wind suddenly screeched over the arena as the place's temperature dropped and the air began to snap with invisible energy, until the runes formed in the fire around Crow and all went silent and still.
The blacks runes were invisible as they exploded into the air and melded together, just as the first touches of frost began to coat over the water under Relius feet. The water that had been there the entire time and even though it had begun to dry up under the intense inferno, all it needed was even a touch. The ice sprang up like a living wave and blasted through the flames, repairing itself where it melted until Relius himself would be surrounded by a dome and wall of crystal, but that wasn't quite the end of it. The first arc of lightning from inside the very ice around him would blast towards him shortly after the initial spell completed. And then further bolts would spark out at him, but these were nothing compared to the final bolt.
To the onlookers, they would get to see the dome suddenly crack as a lance of white light blasted down from above, generated from a single black rune above Relius' position in the arena. It pierced through the dome with enough force that shortly after, it would shatter. Even if it missed, the electrical current still running through it from the various other runes would make it dangerous to remain standing on the shards, even as the flames began to melt them.
As for Crow, as soon as his rune had taken effect, he had done his best to focus his energy into Talon's natural heat barrier, though he couldn't do much. He was even siphoning off the freezing energy from his Isa runes which is why the dome had shattered instead of remaining to rain Relius with the arcs. As soon as the focus needed to maintain the runes was over, however, he leapt from the raging flames as quickly as possible while remaining out of the electrified ice, even if it wouldn't hurt him. His suit had been scorched nearly from his body and more then a bit of skin was showing and every inch above the waistline and below neck was covered in more black runes. He himself looked badly burnt over his hands and some of his chest, but the shield had kept him alive and able to focus through the pain. He was also apparently soaked, as if ice had been coating him as well. Whatever happened to Relius, he would stand back up straight and though stagger but a moment, let out an exhale of air..
This felt natural to him, somehow.
