Laying magical wards to keep wildlife and errant wanderers away, the Gaian Combat League has marked off a section of the dark, foreboding forest that covers much of Havenwood. Even in the middle of day, the inside of the forest is dusky and sunlight struggles to reach through the thick foliage. The apportioned fighting area is far away from any civilization on Havenwood Island, where the only prying eyes are those of the GCL monitors.
Terrain
General: A 75' by 75' square of forest has been marked off for fighting, its borders clearly marked by glowing ghostlights that hang in the air like a haze. The fighting area follows a slight descent southward, and fallen branches from a recent storm lay here and there throughout the area. A small creek cuts through the middle of the stage from east to west, approximately 2' wide and 1' deep. The soil around the creek is loose, uneven and riddled with tree roots.
Weapons: We sell trees and tree products in this forest. Said trees are spaced approximately five or six feet apart, but thin out considerably in the 10' on each bank of the creek.
Bonus Features: The fighting area is unnaturally calm, thanks to the fact that the magical wards have driven off all wildlife -- even the insects have fled. The trees are green with the onset of spring, and won't burn easily (the same cannot be said of their leaves, however).
