Dante vs Avatar of the Dominion

FIGHT!

2Tacitus

The entrance of The Avatar is simple. As if from an orbiting pwn cannon, a beam of light and energy falls from the sky, tearing into the arena and filling the entire 300ft diameter expanse. The ground is torn to pieces and thrust up in a tumultuous arrangement of crags and upturned rocks with all the dust that had been covering the area turned to glass. When the light faded a single pinpoint remained, the beating heart of a featureless man built of light and energy.

3Shinobi Tenma

**Dante stood in the doorway watching all of this commense. Having heard the entrance previously used by mere word of mouth, he knew it'd be wise to stay out of the way of the fancy entrance.

He pulled himself from his leaning position to stand a full erect stance. Very slowly he would saunter out onto the rocky geography to get into the arena. His cold red hues seemed to be fixated on this creature. Well, this will definitely be an interesting one, he thought as he took in the physical features of the person. It was quite obvious that he wasn't human. It would take a bit of testing to find the perfect technique to use against him.

" Well, I'm not one for small talk..So, just know Dante is the name of your impending doom," the man said rather coldy with his melodious voice. He spoke up loud so that all of the observers could here him. His wolfish ears twitched as he heard the roar of the croud.

He was a rather slender man only weighing about 175lbs, standing with a 5'11 stature. The wolfish demon wasn't about to charge the man head on and fight hand to hand combat with something that could very well be not even solid. As far as he could see, it was almost like a plasma form. Standing about 200 or so feet away from his opponent, Dante would rummage about to small leather pouch that sat on the back of his waist.

When he brought his right hand back out in front it was filled with four kunai knives. He would step up on the largest crag in his area quickly and draw his arm back with each kunai between the knuckles in his right hand. A moment later he would swing it around from left to right in a horizontal swipe that released the blades with good accuracy and more speed. Of course the distance would require a bit of hang time, but they would still be quick. It would cover the distance in a matter of two or three seconds at most. They were aimed to collide with the chest area.

As the blades cut through the air, if one had excellent eye sight they may have caught the slight glimpse of light reflecting off thin cords of chakra that ran from the kunai's rings to Dante's fingers. These cords, with the width of fishing-line, would help him to control their direction and possibly come in handy as a surprise. Also, the man was ready to counter if he had to. His chakra fluxuated about his body in a good 60% output.

*Let's see..***

4Tacitus

It was not the kunai that the Avatar saw most clearly, but the streams of chakra connecting them to Dante, as well as his own aura increasing the flows of such energy within him. The form of the Avatar quickly darts straight up, no visible cause behind his flight and his ability to stay aloft without movement. His reaction time was not limited by biological restraints and his speed was to the point where reacting to physical assault came almost reflexively. To any normal person it would look as though he were reacting by means of precognition. He made no direct assault in return against Dante, but the arena did seem to be getting brighter.

5Shinobi Tenma

**Dante wasn't phased by the fact that he dodged such a simple attack, but he was a bit shaken about how the being moved. There was no physical evidence of force to produce motion. He would merely make a mental note and continue his attack.

The demon would flick his wrist with his two of his fingers pointing up. This would send two of the four kunai knives into an upward looping path. The two aimed to fly up from behind to collide with his back. Meanwhile, his other two kunai would continue to move straight before turning to fly back towards Dante. They would continue their flight as insurance for any of the Avatar's movements.

In Dante's left hand, he would begin to hold a single handseal to channel his body's chakra. The stones beneath him would shake ever so slightly. He was merely making preparations. He really didn't like the fact that everything was getting brighter; being no idiot, he knew it was the Avatar's doing.**

6Tacitus

With a means of vision in all directions, both in the visible light spectrum and of a sort of aura-sight, detecting the motion of the blades was not difficult. Once again the construct moved out of the way, this time going even higher into the air. The brightness continued to grow to the point where seeing across the arena would become difficult, even more so to keen eyes. His two palms directed themselves towards Dante, each unleashing a laser beam style attack at him from within the shroud of bright light.

7Shinobi Tenma

**Dante nearly grunted at the sight of his missed attack. Okay, now he's got eyes in the back of his head, he thought as the kunai passed under the man and continued forward.

As the arena became increasingly bright, Dante would not waste time at sqwinting for a better view of the creature. He would close his eyes letting his secondary feild of vision activate. So, come time for the laser beam attack he would be able to easily react and jump off the small crag to take cover in the rubble. While hiding in the cover of the rubble, he would pull something forth from the leather pouch on the back of his waist. Four black orbs would fall to the ground with an explosion of pink-ish smoke that would cover a rather large area of the ground. The gas seemed to spark with red chakra as it sat thick on the ground.

Dante would be virtually invisible, in both the physical and spiritual aspect. As his chakra was everywhere, how would the man distiquish his body's from the same exact chakra flowing about in the gas. He would move about, being sure to use all of his shinobi training here to keep silent. When set, he would stay low in the thickest part of the smoke and form handseals over his chest.

[ Oh, if it's not too much to ask, could you possibly add some detail as to what your altitude is ? ]**

8Tacitus

((Will do.))

The Avatar waited at his current height of seventy five feet above the normal ground level for the arena. His means by which to calculate height and distances was irrelevant, but he was accurate within two feet. The construct did not seem disturbed by the cloud of life based energies suffusing the cloud. In fact, if the kunai still had the streams of chakra still connected to them it would incredibly easy to pinpoint Dante's position. Even if he could not do so he had another way to flush him out, which he would do even if he could find Dante. Both hands clashed in front of the construct with a pulse of energy, temporarily fusing to form one large projection at the end of the two arms. The air screamed as the level of brightness increased and dozens of small orbs began to rain down into the smoke. It was relatively low damage, but spread out over the entire area such that it would not only create a series of explosions to help clear the smoke, but any contact with Dante would act like a tracer to draw in continued blasts. Effectively the Avatar would light him up like a christmas tree for future assaults.

9Shinobi Tenma

**Dante would have released his control of the kunai upon moving into new handseals ( Forgot to mention that >.< ). Regardless, trying to pick the cords of chakra out from a cloud filled with chakra would be impossible.

Doton: Yomi Numa - Jukai Kotan

Dante would continue what he was doing with out the slightest regard of how the Avatar was acting. He would not have to change his ideals for his next move for his Jutsu would suffice as a defence as well as a change of scenery. He would place his flat palms against the torn ground to let his channeled chakra flow through the earth in great amounts. Just as the orbs of energy would come to rain down upon the arena floor, his Ninjutsu technique would come into effect. Mosterous trees would begin to rip from the earth raising high into the air taking all of the flack from the orbs. The size of the trees was the only thing that keep the explosions from ripping them to shreads to merely plumit down onto Dante as a useless technique. Their large branches and thick vines would catch the chunks of wood and greenery as it fell. Yet, some of these trees were the size of buildings. They would rip from the earth raising all the way to the top of the arena, their canopies blocking out almost all of the sun's light.

This was only the first half of Dante's monsterous jutsu that would cover the entire arena. The entire arena floor would begin to be filled with a thick fog as the ground turned from upturned stone to rather dark mud. The mud would almost act as quicksand to anything that touched it. This was truely the Swamp of the Underworld. With his flight and ground mobility limited, Dante would hopefully find attacking the man easier.

Using a pulsation of chakra through his feet, Dante would pull four more kunai from his waist during his stride towards the largest tree in the area. Using the same chakra into his feet, he would scale up the trunk until he reached an altitude close to that of the Avatar's. As he got to about that level, he would throw his arm out to lob the kunai into a twirling patch towards the creature. From the rings of the kunai knives a long parchment would unravell as it lit up with chakra. They were known as explosive tags, and upon reaching the Avatar's area the would explode with an adequet sized blast. They were thrown in a lob to make sure the explosions were spread instead of shot to strike the man. Hopefully if he moved the multiple explosions could act like anti-aircraft cannons to bring him down. If the explosions didn't he would rely on the shrapnal that would be produced from the thick brush. Maybe a tree branch or chunk of bar could do some damage.**

10Tacitus

Despite the lack of sunlight the brightness would remain, the light obviously a magically occurance not directly linked to the sun. Though it would be noted that the sun would have made the next few steps a whole helluvalot easier. Though seeing as the Avatar has other problems, he won't get to bring down massive laser pwning blasts from the sky. The first problem is the trees. Not the limitation of mobility, but the fact that he got speared by a branch as they grew up and beyond him. Whether by being impaled or by simply being around, The Avatar would have a rather negative effect on the trees.

That shit would burn.

The arena would be painted in a hues of blood as the light shifted in the spectrum from white light to red, and beyond. Infrared began heating up the arena as heat from the Avatar's core poured into the surrounding area. Theheat would remain in the area instead of rising away as normal due to the Avatar's control. The trees and swamp would begin to dry out slowly.

Though, this was when the exploding tags errupted around him. Not only would this tear open parts of his "skin" and release much more heat and laser-blast type explosions, but more than likely create enough flame for him to evolve. The problem with that was the space restrictions, which he would have to clear up first. With so much fire everywhere, one would hope Dante would get away from everything flamable, especially because the Avatar was more than likely going to begin throwing fireballs now that he had flame to work with. Unable to create it by simply willing it into existence he had plenty of ways of creating it otherwise, sustaining it, and using it to blow shit up.

11Shinobi Tenma

**Dante's cold red hues watched the being from his horizontal stance on the trunk of the tree. He might have been a bit wavered by the heat had he been restricted by the mere human standards. At times, his own body temperature could raise over that of 400 degrees due to the extent of his chakra manipulation. Though, what would stir him a bit would be the explosions.

He would concentrate a supple amount of chakra through his feet to give a boost to his leap as he tried to escape the range of the explosions. The shear force would send shrapnal of bark and wood flying throught the air. As he descended away from the tree, bits of wood would catch the right side of his body with enough force and speed to lodge into his flesh. One small piece in his right biscept, a few scattered bits in his ribs, and a rather large gash on the side of his right leg.

He would find his landing platform to be a large branch about twenty feet away and about 10 feet below his original altitude. From there he would begin to channel his chakra through the creation of handseals. For now, he'd wait.**

12Tacitus

The whole of the arena continued to rise in temperature, the area right around the Avatar beginning to skyrocket as flames wreathed its body. Flames would begin to lick at trees as the heat began to dry them out, forcing transpiration, the process of water vapor leaving plants to the atmosphere directly. Within some trees closer to the Avatar the sap inside might even begin to boil and cause the tree to split open as the Dominion's rage began to focus.

13Shinobi Tenma

**Seeing as the Avatar only increased the heat and did not directly attack Dante, he would have to do some advancing of his own. He would move himself on the tree branch to scout out just exactly where his enemy was. Once he found a straight path, he would pull into a crouched position and once more dig into his bag of goodies. Clinched in his hand was about ten four inch long needles. Instead of using a Jutsu technique, he would push his chakra into the needles, super heating them.

Dante would rear back and release the needles with great speed and force. With all of the splitting trees and explosive behavior, the needles would hopefully move in through the commotion so quickly that the Avatar wouldn't be able to defend. The spray of needles would hopefully pierce into the Avatar's body to create the ruptures of heat and light like before. Maybe he could over-load the Avatar or something. Dante really felt at a loss fighting something made of energy.**

14Tacitus

When the needles were thrown they were lit up to the Avatar like beacons in the night. The energy and heat within them seemed to call out to the Avatar, and as such he received them willingly. Due to their increased heat they slid into his body and did not seem to create much effect on the shell that represented the Avatar's body. Once inside they would be subject to temperatures rivalling that of the sun as any non-heat based energy within was drained away. The construct's hand would fling to one side, towards dante, and from within ten blobs of liquid metal would return. If it could speak he'd likely make some witty remark about returning them or something, but seeing as he couldn't speak, who cares?

15Shinobi Tenma

**Ah, one thing about Dante was his unrivaled chakra manipulation skills. He may not have been the best physical shinobi nor did he have the best jutsu skills, but he was a marvel amoungst chakra users due to his own unique Kenrou Jyyuken style of fighting.

Although his chakra may have left the connection of his body, he could still manipulate it through the vessel of the metal. Even though the metal changed its phase of matter, it still contained his chakra and could still be controlled. So, as he moved his arm to release the liquid metal Dante would attempt to alter its path. His jaw almost dropped as he found it impossible to control the metal. Dante know knew that his chakra obviously did not withstand inside the body of the Avatar. Sadly, he'd have to learn this the hard way. As the liquid metal splashed against his clothing it would cinge through the material and quickly eat away at his skin. Once again he was saved thanks to the irregular heat resistance of his body, or else the burns may have been quite seveer. Though, the odd thing was that Dante did not scream, nor did he flinch. He need not scream from the pain, because he would not feel it. His most unique attribute, the absense of feelings for touch.

Dante would have to act quick now that the Avatar knew of his position. Both of his hands would reach down his body to retrieve two seperate things. His right would retrieve a single kunai knife, while his left would stop at his hip to unlatch a small pouch that was attached to his belt. He would attach the pouch to the ring of the kunai's handle and all would be ready. Quickly, he would leap high up in the air and release the kunai with ample force. His change in altitude was to hopefully catch the Avatar off guard seeing as he had just thrown projectiles. Instead of the kunai coming from exactly the same place as the needles, it would come down at an angle. Upon contact, the pouch would open and release a sand of red hues. It wasn't so much like sand one would find on the beach. It was special, a weapon retrieved from the Igawakure Village, or Village Hidden Among The Rocks.

If the pouch hit and burst releasing this cloud of sand on the man, Dante would take his chance to attack. Upon landing from his leap, he would spring forward towards the Avatar. As he sailed through the air, he would hold his hands over his chest to form handseals once more.

[ Edited..Sorry..misread. ] sweatdrop**

16Tacitus

((Might you have a count available on 'supplies' remaining for Dante? Kunai left, anything else, etc.))

When Dante darted upwards the hand extended towards him followed his rise and as such the Avatar was aware of the new assault against his form. The palm split open and into the path of the kunai a laser beam would issue forth in the hopes of entirely consuming the attack before it could reach him. The temperature around the Avatar continued to rise, spiking at the release of the laser blast. Fires raged around him as his sphere of influence continued to expand, nearly every tree that had been grown now nothing but ash.

17Shinobi Tenma

**Dante grunted as he descended downwards once more. When he hit the tree branch, now blackened and burned, a loud crack echoed through the tworched forest. The branch had lost it's sturdyness and would break beneath his weight causing him to move once more. Seeing as his dense forest had now been reduced to mere ash and blackened stubs he had no choice but to fall all 75 feet to the ground. Even for Dante, that would be quite a painful drop. He would spread both arms wide and his tail straight back to act as wind resistance. That alone could not lessen the acceleration enough to keep the impact from crushing all of his bones. So, just before he hit the earth, he would release a large burst of chakra through his feet to push down against the ground to slow him down. It worked just as the lunar lander would use its thrusters to land on the moon.

Once on the ground, Dante felt a little bit safer. He would sit in a crouched position with his hands touching the rocky earth; this was clearly a sign of his animalistic traits. He was now running low on supplies, and he dared not take this man on in a melee battle. All he was left with was his Jutsu techniques. Most of them being of the earth origin, it would be a good thing that he was now close to the earth. As he sat there watching the Avatar, sweat rolling off of his body, bits of stone and sand would seem to hover about, attracting to his body. The earthen material ranged from a mere speck of dust to large broken pieces of stone about the size of one's head. They would merely hover around him swimming in the feild of chakra that fluctuated from his body.

[ Inventory: 5 kunai (4 containing Explosive Tags), 0 needles, 0 smokebombs, 1 katana, and 1 scroll. ]**

18Tacitus

((Thank you. ^_^))

The Avatar's attention began to refocus now that his mobility problems had been solved and his opponent seemed to be content on the ground. This is not to say, however, that the Avatar would be ignoring Dante by any means for any reason. The same arm that had been producing blasts shifted and trained on Dante again to unleash another laser-beam style attack. Meanwhile, the ambient heat levels began to top out in exchange for the light returning and intensifying. The temperatures would continue to rise, but only at a negligable rate as more and more light filtered into the arena.

19Shinobi Tenma

As soon as he saw the Avatar move his hand towards Dante, he would be ready to move. Pushing off of all fours, he would spring to his right to move onto another upturned piece of earth. The man was obviously just trying to draw more time. Though, heating the entire arena would prove to be futile. Dante's body could withstand it for now. Dante's chakra was begining to peak now. The red energy seemed to give him a confligration-like aura that stretched out in long tendrils. It was monsterous to say the least. He was done with the games.

20Tacitus

As for now, it wasn't the temperature that mattered, but the presense of the light which was steadily growing stronger. The Avatar's arm swung to aim at Dante and unleashed another beam style attack just the same as before. The assumption he was buying time was only half correct because while he was indeed buying time, he was doing it because he really had nothing else to do.

Though he did wonder if he could eat Dante's aura. It looked delicious.

21Shinobi Tenma

**Sadly, the Avatar was wasting his time with intensifying the light. Ever since the begining of the match he had been relying on his secondary vision. With the factor of the heat taken care of, mere light could not hurt him.

Once again he would watch the man's arm move to fixate on Dante, and once again he would spring out of the way. He wasn't quite ready to throw out more useless assaults towards the Avatar. He would just continue to charge. His chakra continuously growing causing even more bits of sand, dirt, and rock.

[ Hmm..It doesn't seem like you're taking this fight that serious. So, could we just get on with it ? If it weren't for the fact that you have countless fighters in this tourney I might have been insulted. But yeah, let's get this thing going. ]**

22Tacitus

((I appologize if it seems that I'm not taking it seriously. Between Cziri's bitching and Dreslin's insistence on not dying, GTB is getting to be a bit of a chore. Furthermore, I've been using the last two posts as what one might call "spellcasting" time. Most mages can't do much in that time and the Avatar is similarly limited. The post after this one will be much more interesting as the "spell" will be complete.))

The growing field of light began to slowly pulsate, increasing in incriments that receded half a step before charging forward by three or four. The Avatar's aura seemed to be expanding, his own form lost deep within it as he focused the liht and energy around him. When his arm swung towards Dante again a significant pulse would issue forth in the same beam style attack as before. This one, however, would stop short of Dante and shift in flight and begin acting much like a homing missile trying to follow Dante. It did not, however, seem to be seeking his aura or his void in the light field, closer to being guided by the Avatar personally.

23Shinobi Tenma

**[ Ah, I can understand that. Just wanna keep the fighting spirit rolling. ]

Dante was begining to get surprised at his constant attempts with this laser beam type attack. Though, this time he would be surprised in a different fashion. When he would spring off all fours again, his mouth would drop open to let out a small mutter. " Heh..the bastard." He would have to quickly spring backwards onto his feet as he watched the path of the beam curve and follow him. The demon was rather smart, so he wouldn't waste his time trying to run from the attack.

He quickly moved his hand in an inward wave consentrating his chakra through the earthen material that seemed to be attracted to him. The grain of sand, dust, and pieces of rock and stone would all push together to create a condensed shield. The shield was only a bit larger than the beam itself and used most of the large rocks to create the bulk of the shield. Incase the shield was not enough to stop the beam he would spring to his right only ceasing once he knew the beam had stopped. As his rock was used and destroyed more bits of earth would rise in its place, hovering around his body like some earth like aura. His chakra continuously drawing in more bits of earth. The largest part being dust, A six foot radius about his body would seem extremely hazy or dusty. He would continue to wait.**

24Tacitus

The fate of the laser beam was rather irrelevant, some grim outcome of not hitting Dante and then becoming lost in what was to come. The heat and light spiked up in a burst well past five hundred degrees before a rapid force swept the arena. The temperature would plummet to below freezing and utter darkness would envelope the arena. The entire arena would hold for but a moment before the rock would shatter, sending great shards in every direction from the rapid change in temperature. Even in the maelstrom the Avatar wasn't yet finished, for all that light and heat had to have gone somewhere. High above a single shining star was clear in the darkness as the condensed energy stolen from the arena reached its pinnacle.

Twinkle twinkle little star...

25Shinobi Tenma

**The wolfish demon may not have even noticed the change if it weren't for the shattering stone. Dante's breath was clearly visible in the now fridgid arena, yet his body didn't seem to change at all. One might notice someone with such a pale complextion to turn blue-ish and their lips to turn purple after a while, but Dante would not due to his extreme body temperature. Thanks to all that chakra he was channeling about his body, he himself was about 300 degrees.

The rather instant shattering though, was a problem. Dante had quick reflexes but in this instance all he could do was guard his face for the time. As he begun to take in bits of stone and glass he would raise his defence in hopes of not taking the full effects of the blast. As the stone flew at Dante through the haze of dust and rocks, they would seem to slow. Using his chakra through the haze he would freeze all of the tiny particles of dust and sand. The sand would act like a net and catch the shattered stone. When the blast had ceased Dante was filled with cuts and pieces of stone as shrapnal wounds.

He looked up to catch the energy of the star, and he wasn't too happy. It couldn't have been good. The demon would bring his body low, breath spurting out in hard gust as he continued to consentrate the mass of chakra that had been escaping the Tenketsu (chakra pores) of his body. He slipped his right hand into the small pouch on the back of his hip and pulled forth a scroll with black paper on the outside. He unraveled about his arm's length of the paper to reveal the white opposite side filled with blood red inscriptions. In his left he held a single handseal, in his right was the scroll. As the chakra filtered from his hand through the scroll red sparks of energy jumped off his hand crackling in the air. It was time to get serious.**

26Tacitus

The superheated orb began to fall again, only picking up more light and heat as it fell to re-enter the arena. It zipped past the Avatar with a brilliant flare of light as the construct forced even more power into it, and connected with it. When it hit ground it was clear that it was aimed as close to Dante as it could get, but aiming wasn't exactly easy at the speeds it was moving.

The resulting explosion would turn the ground into molten rock immediately, the force of the explosion creating a vacuum in the air the size of a beach ball. The initial shockwave, which created the vacuum, blasted away the walls of the arena, turning the whole into a large crater. When the vacuum was filled by the surrounding air everything in the vicinity would get pulled towards it before a thunderous crack filled the air. By the same principle of thunder the air would slam together and create a second concussive force, scouring the stadium of small debris. Temperatures would have returned to that above freezing, ranging somewhere in the range of fifteen hundred degrees on the surface of the molten rock to five hundred at the outer reaches of the area where there had once been spectators.

During the blast the Avatar would not be left unharmed, his outer shell distorted to have a mutated appearance. The temperature directly around the Avatar would be much less than that anywhere else, a mere one hundred degrees as the construct drew in heat to repair itself. The 'arena' was getting dark again.

27Shinobi Tenma

***Heh, I didn't think I'd need to rely on such celestial powers..Prince Saruta, hear my plea.*

Dante watched the star as it made its descent with little content. He knew this was gonna be big so now would be the time to make haste. All of the chakra that he had been channeling throughout his body would rush through his hand as he pushed the scroll to roll open along the ground. The inscriptions in the paper would begin to glow vibrantly, flickering like a fire.

Upon the star's impact it would be quite unknown as to whether Dante had been killed or not. As the blast hit the arena floor and the walls were desimated, the happenings on the surface, now molten rock, would be hidden in the dust and debris. When everything had settled a bit more and the floor was now visable one would see exactly how the Kami aided him strength. Suspended about ten feet from the molten rock, held tightly in the grasp of large stone hands was Dante. The hands seemed to have been created of mere stone, yet it was defintely not. This was obvious, due to the fact that it was still standing.

The stone was scratched and chipped from the shrapnal of the blast, but around the wrists of the hands were bracelets with glass mirrors untouched from the blast. This was the oddest thing about the hands; how exactly were these charm like mirrors left untouched ?

A bright red array of light began to escape through the cracks between the hands' fingers as they slowly begun to spread apart. The light was extremely bright and carried violent crackles of what seemed like red electricity. If one could see past such an extravagant light show they may have caught Dante perched in the palms of the hands ready to take flight like a butterfly from its cacoon. Yet, he would not move from his crouched position. Gradually but surely the light, or chakra, would begin to move in a counter-clockwise swirl. At the origin of the swirl, the light would shine brightest where a large mirror rested held in the palms of the stone hands. The swirling chakra would seem to become a funnel feeding off of energy as well as drawing it in. As it built up it got larger and larger. This was not only due to Dante's long charge of chakra, but the absorbtion of much of the energy from the star's impact. As the funnel of wind and energy grew it would begin to suck in the energies of the arena as a sacrifice to the great Kami of earth, Saruta. The Avatar being the largest form of energy in the arena..other than Dante's own energy, which was contained in the funnel...The Avatar would most likely be the easiest thing devoured. Dante would merely sit; no more chakra build up..no nothing. He would purely rely on his built up chakra combined with the magnatude of the star to give the energies of the arena as a gift to Dante's great lord.

*For your protection, I shall repay you with the gift of such emense energies. Feed my dear lord, feed!!!!***

28Tacitus

Drawing the Avatar into the vortex would be a chore in of itself, to say the least. The pull of the vortex would be drawing the construct to its doom, but at the same time it seemed content to defy the normal law of physics and accelerate to incredible speeds in the opposite direction with little effort. This, of course, wouldn't be seen as moving incredibly fast as he was stuck in what could only be described as a black hole. Streams of energy began to flow off the Avatar as he resisted, the arena growing incredibly dark in the process. Brief flashes of light bright enough to blind a normal man even through closed eyelids began detonating around the Avatar as strips of 'skin' were torn away.

29Shinobi Tenma

**Dante's cherry locks of hair would dance about merrily as the force of the winds pushed about it. He wouldn't be able to watch the Avatar much longer as this "black hole" was created. There was truely no way for Dante to react to something at the speed of light, nor could he stop it anyway. His retinas would be saturated and Dante would now be blind. He would now have to rely on those ever so helpful wolfish ears he bore.

Dante really didn't have much to do. All he could do was hang on as the funnel of energys continued to grow. The funnel would grow so enormous that it would expand past the Avatar so that instead of waiting for the Avatar to be drawn in, it would form around him. The funnel should have had no problem pulling him apart from all angles now that he had been surrounded. Unless he intended on escaping through the "black hole", he should have been pulled down into the spiraling funnel's walls. The funnel was made of energy and the "black hole" shouldn't have effected. ( Well, hell I'm confused maybe it could effect it..but energy isn't matter..)**

What followed was nothing short of an orbital bombardment worthy of a space based action movie. This particular beam was similar to the one that not only created the Avatar in the first place, but which also rearranged the arena to his will. Despite the vortex the massive outpouring of energy dispersed through the area. The intense heat and light would go beyond normal terms dealing with energy, essentially dropping the entire natural wrath of the sun on the arena. Temperatures would 'naturally' skyrocket to that of the surface of the sun and continue.

**confused

As far as Dante knew, nothing had happened. The only real evidence of the heat he had gotten was the slight scent of burning flesh from the carcases that rested in the stands for those who had not made it through this spectacle.

Why won't this thing just die ?

Sitting at the pinacle of the funnel, he was in the strongest part of the funnel. This was the only reason he had ceased all of his chakra's movement from his body. Thanks to his positioning he would not take the full effect of the orbital blast. As the energy passed through the funnel's walls it would get sapped away thanks to the strong pull around Dante. Everything else ? Most likely melting or whatnot, but Dante would merely get some hot air maybe 300 something degrees.

How the Avatar was surviving so very long in the funnel without having his body sapped away was beyond Dante. He couldn't last too much longer. Every waking second the funnel would be growing stronger and stronger in search of that imense energy source.**

Large sections of the Avatar had broken off and now seemed to have been consumed, but what seems to have been its torso was rather unwilling to just die. Apparently the massive beam from above, which was getting stronger as it focused itself, was aiding the Avatar by helping it keep its position and substituting the energy of the sun for that of the Avatar. Its size seemed to shrink as it tried pulling away, its form flickering as it wondered just how long this hell could persist.

**Dante would merely wait. He could have possibly tried to help his vortex out by trying to use his remaining physical weapons, but without chakra to protect his body from the heat or to use Jutsu techniques it would be risky. Also lacking the use of his eyes, the smartest thing would be to just wait it out. So he would.

The funnel, had been fueled from the falling star, could run for quite a while, and now that it had gotten a taste of the Avatar it was content on devouring it entirely. Dante would merely wait.**

The Avatar's form seemed to wink out entiely, disappearing from means of aura sight and visual sight. It was still there, and such was communicated to the officials by means of a radio frequency transmision by alteration of the electromagnetic spectrum. To Dante, however, it would look as though he had won, the beam from above even gradually stopping. The Avatar's actual size was decreased to an equivalent of a silver dollar and, as stated, his energy signature would be rather nonexistant. Though seeing as the majority of his energy signature matched that of the laser beam that had been falling on the arena, noticing that might not exactly be an easy thing.

Dante would know no such things. Being blinded he was merely relying on his sense of sound. With no movement there really wasn't any sound coming from the Avatar. Dante would remain in his crouched position until he was either given a reason to move or until the vortex had stopped. No matter what his mass was now, he was still in the middle of the vortex and still made of an unearthly energy. Thus, the vortex would rage on.

Yeah...the Avatar was fucked and his author didn't bother to post before he timed out. Oops. Mindblaze released the energy in the construct and it disappated harmlessly.
