Inferi vs. Unnamed

FIGHT!

2Tacitus

At the northern gates a single spire of a strange metal shot up from a space about two feet off the ground, angeled fifteen degrees towards the east. A loud -=SHINK=- echoed through the arena as the sound of metal on flesh and blood could clearly be heard. This was confirmed as a black ooze began to flow from the spire. When it slowly began to retract the sound of metal on metal was clearly evident, the inverted cone pulling back from whence it came to reveal a tall figure dressed mostly in black. The black leather coat, pants, boots, and shirt with a crimson emblem upon it seemed to seal upas soon as the spikes were gone, but the holes in his form remained.

His gaze rose as he dropped into a crouch, a hole bored right through his skull with a smile on his lips. That too began to close as grey skin was shown under a layer of fluidic black armor. His dead eyes were but mere orbs of blackness, windows to a soul that had been taken away to leave nothing but a void. The spines of bone that grew back from his bald scalp seemed to resemble hair, slicked back as if moving at an incredible rate. His body was taken to the peak of his current stage of evolution just to begin the fight at hand, not yet decided what effects might be called upon in terms of the Aspects of the Dominion.

3[Unnamed Angel]

*=The unnamed makes no remarkable entrance. There are no sky-splitting streaks of lightning. No ground splitting quakes. Instead. A seemingly unimpressive man with blue, unkempt hair and dressed in what resembles black training gear more than anything else enters. He walks with a limp, likely the result of the heavy chains wrapped tightly around his left arm, from shoulder blade, around the neck, and to the wrist. Even his hand is meshed by the heavy chain-link. The unnamed keeps his eyes closed as he enters the arena. He knows he's been called to fight yet again in a tournament he seems to have no reason for entering. What did they say of men with no reasons? Perhaps the hidden intentions speak volumes over and above those that speak them with self-righteous ignorance.=

=As the unnamed steps upon the hard granite of the arena floor, he reaches for the weapon he always has used up to this point...only to stop dead in his tracks with his right arm barely at same hip. His eyes open with a sudden awareness. Not of his opponent, rather of what is on his own person. He slowly arches his right arm over same shoulder to reach for something that had only been seen "fighting" of its own will previously. It had disobeyed him greatly, but it calls out to him now. The unnamed looks at what appears to be a small, wooden key, now in the palm of his right hand just inches before his face. For whatever reason, he speaks to the item in a strange tone of voice that is dull, perhaps because of the resonance of three tones.=*

You call out, now?

=For the first time since stepping out onto the arena to face Inferi, the soul-piercing orbs, one of blue and one of platinum, lock onto the opponent for this stage. Undead? Reconstituted? As the unnamed looks on, perhaps he is seeing exactly what he needs to see. Watching him at this point might be quite interesting, to those with eyes that can see. To the spectators and likely even his opponent Inferi, it would only appear the unnamed is starting to glow, the tip of his chain ablaze in Light. However...there is a deeper change going on as spears of platinum roam his body as bolts of lightning, centering on the strange, wooden, key-shaped item in his right hand. Those spear-like bolts of platinum-colored energy, however, are unlikely to be seen.=

It seems you've taken an interest in this creature.

4Tacitus

The speed at which he began to move was incredible, but by no means beyond the speed of blurring or that which would create after images. This seemingly undead being did not give off such an aura, instead an aura of every creature type imaginable, especially once the Psychoreactive Armor began to spread. The form of darkness steeaking across the arena began to leave behind a trail of Crimson Mist as his Aspect was chosen. His body began to bulk up as The Aspect of the Juggernaut began imbuing his form. His armored skin was further increased in strength while his physical attributes were greatly enhanced over their alrfeady amazing levels. His hands seemed to be growing into claws while his back hunched slightly, a sort of armored carapace highly capable of absorbing magical damage without trouble.

5[Unnamed Angel]

*=If one were to assume that the unnamed would fight the same as he has, one would be terribly mistaken. The origins of Blossoming Path are adaptability, and that meant that he had a different tactic in each situation he went into. In this case, his initial tactics were changed the moment he picked up Paradox over Aces, and damage coming from a magical source had always only been one of many aspects. While Inferi's body molds into its chosen form, the unnamed initial track begins to unfold...=

=A mere rustle in the wind signifies Lion's Cry extending its tip first down then in a quick arch so said tip would come to be just in front of the face of the unnamed. All this the span it took for him to clench his right fist around the strange, wood-esque item that, for whatever reason, looked more like a key than a mighty staff weapon. With that, platinum energy ignites around that right fist; though, that energy is unlikely to be seen by a being such as Inferni. What's important are the results... Results which are hidden by the actions Lion's Cry takes.=

=Without hesitation, the tip of the heavy chains ignite in a blinding light, spreading out across the arena. This would, of course, obscure sight based on the electromagnetic spectrum. Perhaps that was the point of Lion's Cry taking in Light. What is the result of the other energy? Though unlikely to be sensed properly or seen, that platinum energy is used to obscure the aura or psionic mask the unnamed possesses, dispersing it nearly evenly across the entirety of the arena.=

=If Inferni were watching before Light covered the arena, he might have noticed a specific event centered around the unnamed's hair. It flashed gold and was suddenly long, down to his mid-back. It was a mere instant that it lasted, but it would still have been visible. Now, however, any knowledge of where the unnamed had been might be considered fraudulent at best. For now... If Inferni can feel auras or psionic masks, it might appear that the unnamed is to each of the directional compass points around him. However. It is the unnamed who would be the first to admit that the "dispersal" of his aura is not complete, but the reason for this tactic so early should be obvious. He closes his eyes to concentrate on solidifying his own energy, but it also helps him focus in case he needs to move very quickly.=

=As an unimportant side note, the unnamed still has his fist clenched around the seemingly unimpressive object.=*

6Tacitus

The flash of light is nothing if not a boon to IV, the intensity of the light not blinding him in the slightest. In fact, the light relased moulds around him to create a shining nimbus that quickly taints to a deep crimson. The moment Unnamed's aura comes in contact with the growing Crimson Mist he would feel a tug on the very core of his being. IV's gaze would be redirected to focus on him directly as the Crimson Mist began consuming the man's aura. The unnamed man had willingly expanded his aura into IV's territory and now would have to shatter the essense of his being to escape, something no being could do and remain in any shape to fight.

The man had already started killing himself.

IV's body continued its rapid advance as it completely filled out to his near nine foot frame. The ground cracked underfoot as he began taking bounds forward to close the distance. It appeared as if putting up barriers of trickery or even physical defense were not going to be effective against this particular being. Should this particular opponent try reading IV's mind, even not knowing he is doing it, he woul get such a tremendous deluge of information that his own mind would be overwhelmed. Furthermore, predicting assaults by this man would be similarly impossible as the incredible number of thoughts occuring all at once would make it seem like he intended to attack from all possible angles at once. If he got in range of his opponent in time you can bet a spit of some rather nasty acidic type blood and a lunge for some good raking of the abdomen with his claws would be in order.

7[Unnamed Angel]

=The unnamed glances at his still clenched fist. He has no idea that certain abilities he has coupled with energies just used had just saved him from an interesting ability. The reason for glancing at his fist is simple. Those crimson colored mists had just absorbed the Light emitted by the tip of his chain. It also seems IV is completely ignoring the aspect changes in the electromagnetic spectrum. Even as light exudes from either end of his right fist to finally form into a staff weapon, the unnamed has to wonder what this, specific trap is all about. He's not even looking at IV anymore, as if he'd simply become completely unimportant. When the unnamed speaks that strangely dull tone of his, he is still looking at the newly formed staff.=

What is it you are up to?

*=The unnamed speaks to the staff; though, some may think the question directed at IV for how it was phrased. For now, he makes no move to defend or attack the encroach of IV. The unnamed even closes his eyes to look upon that which only he can see within his mind's eye. Even as the arches at the top of the staff slowly open and a strange globe within those arches slowly begins to illuminate, he can feel himself accelerating much quicker than expected towards his true form. His hair flashes gold, and it even holds that state for a moment as he looks upon the giant gates holding back the Momiji. Those gates only he can see behind closed eyelids. He looks at the gates held tightly shut by a single lock, but those are not where his attention is directed.=

=The unnamed concentrates on two gates in particular. Those gates are slightly ajar, held nearly closed that way by many chains and locks. When he sees Paradox in his mind's eye, it is in the shape of a key. It seems to be directing him towards the gate holding back the inundation of that platinum colored energy. As he opens his eyes to look back at IV, he has to wonder why that Momiji has been selected. Regardless. The action of closing his eyes would look like naught more than a blink. In the interim, however, the unnamed really is a poor actor. He can't even pretend that he's been affected by something he really has no idea should have affected him...if he were a "normal" being as IV has assumed. The unnamed doesn't even seem to be affected by the small drop in a bucket the massive number of thoughts IV is so used to are cycled by not only his mind but by his weapons as well. How do a few minds, be it hundreds or thousands, compare to an eternity of minds?=

=Regardless of any preceptions, perceptions, or postceptions, the effects of the Light release have taken shape, primarily thanks to IV's Crimson Mists. As the tip of the chain draws the Light back in, the effects on the electromagnetic spectrum finally would be seen by the spectators. The four compass points to which IV should be able to sense the unnamed stand...seeming visages of him. Is the real unnamed hidden among those? Is he using this same tactic to hide himself by bending the entirety of the electromagnetic spectrum around him? This might be noticed by paying attention to how the visages respond to IV.=

=This is with incomplete focus on the energies. This is only formed by a quick surge and melding of the energies the unnamed released. Incomplete they may be, he still has time to concert those energies and use them to better effect. He should also be in his true form in little time, possibly before or by the time Paradox opens its arches to reveal something...interesting. The seeming least important event, however, would be the sound reverberating through the air...and amplified through the Crimson Mists, now that they are saturated with Light. This sound is similar to that of a hungry beast that has begun its feast.=*

8Tacitus

((So you either teleported (by speed or actual teleport) or you now have a huge beast eating your skull. Riiiiight, I suppose you want to clarify then?))

Tricks of the light be damned, IV need not focus on light or even the physical body, for as long as the unnamed warrior existed his aura was tied to his true body, lest he die and then lose the fight anyway. This simple connection was found through the link gained by the Crimson Mist to the man's aura. Why then all the effort of trying to look as though he were in multiple places at once? If he moved, then he moved and IV would follow. If he moved too fast he has just DQed himself, and if he didn't move IV would tackle him to the ground and begin feasting on his innards. There is nothing tricky or fancy about that, just a big beefy guy that tricks won't work on trying to have a snack.

Furthermore, it would be noted that electromagnetic disturbances would stick out like a sore thumb to this dude, as the template applied to his core abilities allowed him nigh mastery of the electromagnetic spectrum and anomalies were easy to detect. Lastly, all this fun energy being eaten by the expanding Crimson Mist was very much appreciated as it was converted to something more usable for the Beast. No matter the energy type or any sentience within, it would be converted at a base level by being inserted into a dreamscape and then altered by the will of the dreamer.

9[Unnamed Angel]

((If you're that dimwitted, I probably should clarify with bullet points on everything that just happened and will. There was *no* teleportation. If you can't figure out the beast metaphor, there's no way you'll figure out anything that has been posted or will be. Here I thought I was being rather obvious. I'll note that no movement, let alone teleportation, was even required because IV refocused his attention, which one must conclude means putting attention elsewhere.))

*=This was no "trick of light", and this was no use of light that IV or any minds he convenes with would be used to. Nay. Hence the fact that it is called Light (Momiji Light to get specific) that mere light couldn't even compare to; though, be admitted that it affects light and the electromagnetic spectrum in similar, but not congruent, ways. Each of the visages would feel and appear exactly the same as the unnamed had, especially as time passes. Time has, focus has improved, and those visages now seem more like the unnamed. Perhaps now would be a good time to determine if one of them is real or if he hides all invisible like in the same or similar fashion as this rather interesting melding of energies. Perhaps it would be a good thing to not waste any more time?=

=As for now, that whisper on the wind that sounds like a great beast beginning to feast might not be ignored any further. It really is too bad nothing the Crimson Mists are doing is having any effect or affect on the unnamed. Wouldn't any present agree? It looks like IV is going this one alone. Perhaps, however, there is a greater reason behind the hungry growl ringing through the air.=

=As a recap in case it hasn't already been made pointedly obvious. The Crimson Mist has had no essence to make a connection with because of the combination of abilities and energies from the unnamed. The energies not only melded with abilities but with each other to create a rather interesting aftereffect. The key "transmigrated" into a staff. Finally. The unnamed seems to have been given all the time in the world to focus his energies.=*

10Tacitus

((Or, you know, you could actually fight for once. He never refocused his attention, he focused directly on your character and hasn't wavered yet. How can you know how he can divide his attention when he can multitask perfectly on thousands of things at once? Furthermore, circular logic doesn't mean you win. "lawl, my energy is connected to my abilities and my abilities are a part of my energy.' Hmm...yeah, circular logic. You established the connection by dispersing your aura into a hostile environment, now suck it up and fight. And, for your information I didn't see the beast metaphor.))

If energy existed, the Crimson Mist was consuming it. If an aura existed, the Crimson Mist was consuming it. The Crimson Mist did not discriminate, it was an equal opportunity consumer. Hell, it was made to eat things that were supposedly able to get away from being eaten just like this. The Crimson Mist had eaten at energy locked away in a lockbox, eaten at the coat-tails of gods, and even eaten nothingness incarnate. The connection was already established the moment the unnamed individual dispersed his aura and no form of energy or special abilities could suddenly sever this link "just because." Only one man thus far had discovered a way to sever the link once established, and this individual was not that man. As such, IV didn't need to figure out which of these figures was the real unnamed man, because he was directly connected to the being through his essense. Hiding was impossible.

Furthermore, trying to affect the mists through the link by eating back along the link would also be an act of futility. Adding more energy, more forces, more barriers to the Mist would only give it more to eat. There simply was no stopping this, not in any way yet presented. At least if the being started fighting he might stand a chance. As the man had not reacted to IV finding him and attacking him, he would surely be in dire straights, most likely missing body parts from having them eaten.

11[Unnamed Angel]

((Stop jerking around. This is why I hate fighting judges!))

12Tacitus

((Its not fighting a judge that you be hating, thats the feeling of fighting me when I've not had the chance to assign you any respect as a human being, and you've not exactly been doing a good job of earning it. Just post or give some real complaint.))

13[Unnamed Angel]

((I've given a real complaint, and now you're using "bully" tactics. No wait. You've been using "bully" tactics the whole time. It is fighting a judge I am hating because this always happens. You can take your sorry respect and shove it up your ***** 'cause the "respect" of a bully is worth less than nothing. You think that bullying somebody into posting your way is fair and complacent to role-playing? If you're not going to show proper role-play courtesy, why would you think you'd get it back in return? You proclaim deific wannabes as reason for me to believe that your character can instantaneously overcome a specific combination? I really don't care what or who you think you or your character(s) are.))

*=As a link was never formed, the unnamed need not worry about severing any such thing. In fact, he doesn't even realize that Paradox wants the foolish being to attempt to consume the energy it is directing him to use. It would be foolish to assume that he is hiding. As more time passes, his focus on his energies improve further and further. Enough time has passed to solidify his hold on those visages, and IV will have an interesting reward awaiting him. The orbs of the unnamed shift slightly to his right as he watches IV, just before looking down on the quarter-opened arches slowly unraveling around that slowly brightening sphere. After a short glance, he closes his eyes and simply focuses on the task before him. Unlocking at least one chain stop-gapping that door stopping the inundation of that platinum-colored energy.=

=For whatever reason, that heavy chain heavily wrapped around the arm of the unnamed hasn't been moving about all that much. Though, there is a hungry growl upon the air. The way it reverberates might make one wonder if there were a beast ready to sate its hunger. The unnamed keeps his senses on the staff and chain with a deep focus also centered upon IV and those rather boring mists. It might not be too long before the later realize the point of those visages. Whatever the case, his hair appears to have grown just past his shoulders and is flashing between blue and gold; though, it maintains blue a bit longer in flashes.=*

14Tacitus

((Your explaination for not connecting and dispersing was "just because, lawl, combination of abilities I don't mention" and mine was "just because, lawl, stuff." Stop complaining. When you don't explain the how or the why, can you really expect me to give you that same courtesy? And don't dote on me being a judge, because I'd be doing this to you even if you were the judge (hell, if you were an admin) and I wasn't.))

The Crimson Mist continued the consumption, filtration, and conversion just as it had all along, the flows of energy still doing nothing to deter IV's attack. Why did this unnamed individual ignore a behemoth trying to eat his skull? All that lovely biting and stabbing and clawing, one would think he'd want to defend himself instead of doing his whole gate and beast metaphor dance.

15[Unnamed Angel]

*=If the unnamed were one to show emotions... If the unnamed even had them. He doesn't appear to be showing any at the rather humorous site of IV gnawing and clawing at what is essentially nothing but air. That skull? IV's teeth grating across each other. Those limbs? Diversions of air. What about what the mists are consuming, filtering, and converting? That's an interesting question. Itself? There is no connection to the unnamed after all. Strange...=

=In the interim, IV does manage to get sprayed with something rather sticky. To the unnamed, it's platinum in color and clearly visible. It's but a fraction of the energy his focus had solidified on contained within each of the visages. Now if IV would only notice the fraud... Whatever the case, the unnamed still has his eyes closed as IV goes to town on nothing more than air with a "mask" over it made to look and "feel" (aura sensing only) like the unnamed one. In his head, he is turning the key in one of the chain locks. Looking at him, it would appear his hair has grown slightly longer and is flashing evenly between blue and gold.=

=The unnamed still is curious as to what his staff and chain seem to be scheming. The chain has "marked" things to be easier to track...among other things. The staff is directing the use of the platinum energies and opening the gate that bars complete inundation of them. It's also unconcerned about those mists even attempting to consume those energies. Why would it be? Would IV continue to fall into such a blatant trap originally set up to keep unnecessary victims out?=*

16Tacitus

IV stops what he is doing and starts bleeding. A lot.

17[Unnamed Angel]

*=The blood easily flows through the visage. After all. It's not even there. The thing is, however, the soulless IV might notice a rather interesting interaction between this blood and the energy "contained" within the visage he happens to be nearest. As a matter of importance, the event would be limited only to blood, no matter how acidic or basic, coming into contact with the limited amount of energy within the visage. In short, the blood would become gelatinous and relatively useless. "relatively" meaning this interaction would wear off shortly, a few minutes at best. Not that much blood in the long run, but it may be enough to take notice. Well. As long as IV really is soulless that is.=

=As for the blood spilling forth from IV, the unnamed may well have reason to watch it. As he is about to react, an almost surprised-sounding sound issues from his throat, though nearly silent. He was about to look up to his opponent when his staff calls out once more. The arches surrounding the strangely glowing globe are nearly pulled away from it, as if the globe were almost unlocked to release its power. In addition to that, he even appears to have hair of gold with quick flashes back to blue down nearly all of his back. For the moment, he decides to listen to his staff. He takes a step back which, of course, means that each visage does the same. It would take a moment for the blood pool to expand to any other visage or himself, but this wasn't simply a stall tactic. After all, aren't there beings consumed with controlling blood be it their own or others? Necromancers? Blood Magi? Liches? Well. The picture is clear enough not to make any kind of assumptions even without any sort of psychic-cognitive abilities.=

=All the while, there's still that gate to open even a little bit further. This is one of the Momiji of Heaven the unnamed is trying to access. It's not exactly easy to get to it, even if the energy locked behind it is inundating as an understatement. Though his eyes are still closed, he still can tell exactly what's going on. All this preparation has to mean something. Right?=*

18Tacitus

The pressense or absense of a soul cannot be determined from his blood. It seems he both has one and that he does not. While he was created as an undead and technically no longer has a soul within his form, he retains access to one. Whether it is his or not is another matter, but thats gets skewed in the Dominion anyhow.

The bleeding is not something any normal being should ever be able to do. I mean he's likely already spilled enough of his own blood to fill himself three times over and then some. Though what happens next is just DAMNED cool to look at.

IV explodes.

No really, he does. All the skin across his body and large chunks of flesh simply violently leave his body as a blood nova extends out from his form. This would, quite simply, cover over one half of the arena in his own blood and body tissues. Though by the time the cloud of blood settles, IV seems to already have regenerated that which was lost. However, he now seemed to have various spikes of bone extending from set intervals around his body.

He bleeds, arcs of golden lightning running across the massive pool of blood.

19[Unnamed Angel]

*=The low density of that platinum-colored energy within each visage, as it was visible to the unnamed, wasn't there to identify what IV was or had or any such as that. It was primarily for show; though, it could have easily shown proof of "true lack" of soul. It was of no matter or consequence either way. The whole point was actually what was "known", either through perception or known but locked information, about the situation. The staff finally reveals the entirety of that glowing globe as the arches pull all the way back, and the unnamed is bathed in light. This occurs as IV explodes. The unnamed doesn't appear to have his hair shifting between blue and gold any longer. His hair extends to the small of his back and is fully gold in color. What might not be seen just yet are the wings extending from his back.=

=As the blood nova extends, the unnamed takes a flying leap into the air. This, of course, means that each visage does as well. Knowing the outer limits to which me may extend his flight, he decides to keep it close to the arena. He doesn't go that far above the outer edge of the blood nova, but he makes sure to head straight to the center, maintaining the velocity of the leap. This may give IV the thought that he'd have a central target for a moment, but looks can be deceiving as the unnamed prepares for either a full stop or aerial maneuver for whatever may come. He shifts the position of his staff so the butt end falls across his left arm, a seeming defensive pose. The strange light given off by the globe on the staff grows a bit brighter as the unnamed keeps his senses open. No need to be caught in a bad situation.=

=In the meantime, the unnamed nearly has the lock undone for the gateway keeping the inundation of that platinum energy back. Even still, he nearly opens his eyes to look at that golden lightning dancing across IV's blood. When his staff "calls" his attention back, however, he hadn't even had the chance to open his eyes to take a "physical" look. Interestingly. It almost appears that white petals are now dancing around the unnamed. It's definitely not thick enough to be any kind of shield.=*

20Tacitus

((The golden lightning is on the blood, not IV. XP))

The flow of blood continued as IV begins to charge forward, slowly expanding acros the arena. Because he is not a blood magus nor a blood elemental the production of blood is comparatively slow. This would soon be solved as the bloodflow began to increase. Perhaps he was going to explode again?

21[Unnamed Angel]

((Hence the reason I put "across IV's blood"?))

*=The unnamed shifts his position once again. He doesn't alter where he is facing. That might give IV an indication as to which visage is the real him. Instead he lowers the butt end of his staff down his left arm, nearly to where his hand is covered and meshed under the heavy chains. He spreads his wings and continues to fly forwards. His wings, however, might not be quite visible yet. He keeps a good deal of his focus on unlocking that gate, and he can feel that he is almost there.=

=Whatever the case, unless IV changed what direction he was facing...the unnamed may well be expected to lower his guard for the simple fact that "forward" from where IV was facing when he attacked the visage would be away from the center of the arena. As much as the audience might guess that, IV would not be that lucky. It all depends on what direction "forward" happens to be.=*

22Tacitus

((XP Said body at the time I replied.))

Seeing as IV hadn't yet taken his focus off the other man, if he could even ever be called that, forward is still in that general direction regardless of relocation. And the whole exploding bit, yeah, he does that again. This time the blood would most certainly be filling the arena and covering a great deal of the walls. That golden lightning just continued arcing around and havings its fun, but there was no real indication of its purpose.

23[Unnamed Angel]

((So now you're going to accuse me of editing my posts? Tch. So cheap. It's said "blood" every time I've looked at it.))

*=If IV continued to think that the Crimson Mists of his precious Dominion ever had linked to his unnamed opponent, he would continue to fight naught but air. What direction was he heading in, then? "forward" following a fraudulent link is away from the unnamed in some direction.=

=Though aerial now, the unnamed is most aware of what some beings can do with blood. Whatever was going to happen with that blood and with IV, it seems as if Paradox and Lion's Cry have their own agenda. They are "pushing" the unnamed to open even one lock bounding that gate. Though it may seem unorthodox, he is willing to play along with this. He knows they are hiding some things from him, but those things were of little consequence. All he can do is try to keep them from acting in their uncontrollable manner. What he needs to know, however, is one key piece of information being kept from him by his weapons. IV fulfills at least two of three categories for...certain circumstances. What are these categories? What are these circumstances? Well. Neither Paradox nor Lion's Cry seem willing to tell.=

=The cloud of petals surrounding the unnamed grows thicker as a new crest of power approaches. They grow brighter, but it isn't a light the Crimson Mists should make the folly of trying to absorb. It's not like it's blinding or meant to do such. It's just a light surrounding the unnamed, thus each of his visages as well. In the interim, the unnamed has flown to each of the four compass directions surrounding IV once more, keeping in mind the boundary of the arena. Which visage is him? Will IV ever learn that the "link" was thwarted before it could even be made through the careful methodology Paradox presented the unnamed?=

=However one looks at it, the unnamed appears to be in a stance as if ready to ward off an attack; though, his eyes remain closed as he works to unlock that one chain bounding the gate as closed as it is... Closer... Closer... The unnamed is already building up for a strike. Perhaps that is meaning behind the petals and the glowing?=*

24Tacitus

It was sad that the unnamed man hadn't taken one level in rogue, else he might have picked that lock faster than a key might have opened it. Why is this relevant? Why surely the blood makes it obvious with the contrasting color of gold against the black. Its antimagic, of course! Expanding from the blood and encompassing everything in the legal area.

The opening gates are quickly slammed shut as the mighty roar flowing through the mists is silenced.

Mana calms.

Divine will fades.

Psionic links shatter.

All that is left is a silly man and a beast.

Maybe the nameless would finally be willing to fight now that his tricks are spent and his gates are closed.

((If you really prefer I'll explain the way the antimagic field works, but I'm done playing around. No supernatural games, no more metaphors, just tooth and nail.))

25[Unnamed Angel]

=IV still had allowed Paradox to open its arches and the unnamed to take his true form. There is no way to undo either of those except through interference the ignorant might call magic. Just as the antimagic field overtakes where the unnamed flies, mana surges over his body. It wasn't mana behind that gate, but it did signify that the lock had fallen. He opens his eyes as he flaps his wings and pushes himself a little bit higher. The platinum energy drains from each visage, but they remain for a moment. Why? It takes a moment for the electromagnetic waves to normalize. However, the visages don't move as the unnamed as the energy within them flows right back to the him.=

Hmm? You might want to undo that which saps your own powers.

=The the unnamed squints in a way that might betray pain. It's not pain he feels. Rather. He feels the inability to deter any actions his weapons might take. He looks at his staff. Was this the plan? The globe within the arches pulsates. To note. No mana, divine intervention, psionics, or other such is being used.=

I can take the blast, but I fear for the people here.

=The unnamed turns straight to look at IV.=

Don't think this is some trick. I am the one will capable of taming this power and using it properly.

=He lowers his head in a sign of pity. Of course the beast wouldn't listen. This is something he knows; though, he may not exactly know how he has such knowledge. He looks to the chains tightly wrapped around his left arm. One might thing the weight might drop him to the ground, but he easily pushes with his wings to keep himself aloft. He then raises his voice for the first time, and the audience would hear that strange, dull tone of the unnamed at near a yell.=

If you value your lives, get out of this place of battle.

=That's the only message he delivers as that globe once contained by the arches of his staff pulsates brighter. The unnamed looks at it, but his face still shows no signs of emotion. His own two-toned orbs also appear to be glowing, but this could be a trick of light. Even so. Those visages are finally gone. The cloud of petals once dancing around the unnamed seem to be falling and drifting as snow, but any touching a petal would find it disintegrate in their hand as if it hadn't existed in the first place. The chains tighten their grip slightly, and the unnamed almost seem to flinch at this action. When he speaks, his voice is almost hushed.=

Disobedient already...

((Don't bother explaining your idea of antimagic. Don't try saying I'm dismissing it either.))

26Tacitus

IV only chuckles at the man's words, "I was built to kill mages and damn near anything else. Its my job to eliminate the supernatural and deconstruct whatever stands in my path. You may have wings, pretty boy, but I am a beast unknown to mankind. I am the last walking avatar of the Apocalypse." The glowing, the chains tightening, whispers from inanimate objects, all of it was little more than tricks of the mind of a fool. The supernatural had become but a spectator to the charging beast that seemed to leave behind restraint and sanity as he closed the distance between the two. Upon drawing close The Walker would leap at the unnamed man in a feat of great strength, aiming to tackle him from the air with a pulverising grip of his arms around the man's torso.

27[Unnamed Angel]

*=That same bow of pity. He comes to remember one thing. It was through will that human restraints that IV calls "supernatural" came to contain his power. He tightens his grip on his staff just before taking a mighty swing towards IV. This wasn't just a defensive move. The use of such force would crack even a mythril golem's skull open. The warning the unnamed gave was as much for IV's safety as it was the safety of the audience. Once the antimagic field is gone, he'll be able to restrain those powers again. He just wonders how far things will go.=

=If IV keeps his aim towards the torso of the unnamed, he would find his skull rather messily opened and mutilated. He might consider blocking, even if it means his arms will be broken. The globe once contained within the arches of the staff pulsates again and again, the intervals growing shorter and the heat growing to the point that "mutilated" may include burns and melted flesh. Regardless of how IV comes out of this, the unnamed speaks in hushed tones.=*

Unknown? Apocalypse? Boy? Are your jokes supposed to make me laugh?

28Tacitus

The staff strikes IV's head and cracks his skull open and splatters his brains over a nice distance. This, however, does not stop the Beast. The supposed power of the staff simply does not exist while within the confines of the antimagic field. Why is this, you ask? It is highly doubted the spoiled brat with a liver problem next door could procure such power and thus it has to be supernatural. But wait, didn't the field cause all supernatural elements to take a knee to the balls? Oh yeah, thats right, it did.

Despite this, even if this supposed power remains and somehow isn't supernatural and that cripple kid can obtain it, one might think he'd want to know how so his life stops sucking. Yes, yes, the staff splaters the skull, but when the unnamed individual is tackled he would be damned surprised that this beast ain't going down without a fight. The upper half of his skull seems to be the only thing damaged and the heat factor seems to be irrelevant, whether it truly exists or not. It would seem that the bone structure of this beast is naturally stronger than that of a human being for his size. Furthermore, his body seems to operate in a way different from that of a human being. Having produced no defense against the tackle the unnamed man would now have the crushing arms around his torso slowly crushing the life from his body as the massive weight aimed to rip them from the sky. Apparently IV weighed in the range of tons and, without magic, those wings didn't look big enough to keep them aloft.

29[Unnamed Angel]

=Even the most basic knowledge of physics would have told IV that the globe not going away, pulsating, and continuing to grow in heat despite an active antimagic field is a very, very*bad thing. For him that is. Even with tons of flesh to weigh the unnamed down, the exponentially increasing heat coming from that globe will be melting him away. It was actually the "supernatural" containing something that science might not have been able to control. What hints were there? Well. The unnamed did try to warn IV. There were those chains tightly wrapping his left arm, and even their grip seems to be loosening. What about those psionic barriers set up within the mind of the unnamed? Snapping those can't be a good thing... Just what was IV thinking? Paradox figured that out long ago when a series of events were set up to move the unnamed into his true form and unravel that globe from protective arches.=

=The chains are loosening, and one auditory hint to that would be the sound of metal sliding against metal as the tip slowly makes its way to the ground. The unnamed looks down to where IV wraps around his waist. The only thing to be surprised about is that the foolish being continues to hold on despite the obvious connotations of the globe nearing white-hot heat. Another thing to take note of is that the unnamed is able to stay aloft; though, he is slowly sinking. Slower than might be expected, and that might be thanks to flapping his wings at a quicker tempo.=

=The unnamed keeps his right hand upon the shaft of his staff as he bears it down and pushes on IV. That heat's got to be quite discomforting. At the same time, he reaches his left hand to grip IV's right arm. Unless IV lets go and falls to the ground, that grip is guaranteed to show just how big a mistake this antimagic field is. It's almost like something was restraining the unnamed. It's as if "supernatural" barriers were holding the power of that globe to some purpose. It's as if "supernatural" barriers were keeping the unnamed in a docile state. It's not as if anybody would expect him to press a flesh-melting globe into an opponent, try to crush skulls, or try for a bone-snapping grip.=

=That globe... It pulsates faster. It's almost as if an explosion were imminent...=*

30Tacitus

The heat didn't seem to bother IV, some property of his flesh negating the majority of the effect that would otherwise melt it away. IV's grip would not relent and his bones would not break under the grip of the unnamed man. The pressure around the unnamed man's waist would increase dramatically as IV moved to begin biting at the man's abdomen. For but a moment the unnamed would likely feel disorientation as some effect washed through the area, a fluxuation in the antimagical field. He might also notice the frost covering the crushed portions of IV's skull for a brief moment as all that heat suddenly disappeared. In that brief moment IV's weight seemed to double as his strength only increased further. If the heat returned the same would happen time and time again, each time with IV's weight and strength doubling. Perhaps it would be best to try a different tactic.

31[Unnamed Angel]

=So the antimagic field is only half-baked? IV is immune to its effects and is suddenly a sunwalker? Whatever the case, the unnamed might giggle being tickled by this pitiful being, but he just doesn't seem to express emotions. Instead. The unnamed looks at the pulsating, white-hot globe. One final warning? Would the puny intelligence within the beast even listen? Then he looks to his left arm. The chain seems to be half-unraveled; the tip now touching the ground. The unnamed also seems to be gaining altitude, almost to his original position in the sky.=

I'd warn you again, but it seems you and your Dominion are too primitive to understand what is going on.

32Tacitus

The antimagic field was indeed absolute, but in being absolute granted the beast a sort of control that went far beyond the norm. The skull reformed itself as the antimagic field fluctuated once more, IV's weight and strength increasing by a factor of two once more. At this point not even a metal such as adamantium would stand against his overwhelming strength, much less resist being crushed like softened butter in the hand of a grown man. How could the unnamed opponent stand against such incredible strength when magical reinforcement simply did not exist? The Walker's body twisted while still crushing and biting, the lower half whipping up to plant a kick in the other's face in a rather entertaining show of contortionism.

33[Unnamed Angel]

=There is no reinforcement. Rather. IV took away all restraints. The unnamed lets out what might be mistaken for a sigh and bows his head in yet another sign of pity.=

Primitive.

*=The chains are nearly off, revealing all the way up to the upper arm of the unnamed. He also seems to easily shrug off the monstrous grip. As half the chains coil on the ground beneath them, a deafening silence fills the arena. Its almost like something just sucked all the energy to a single point. The globe pulsates once more as it grows insurmountably bright. In the short interim between the globe becoming bright and what happens next, another event of note occurs. A single card, with a picture of the ace of spades, falls from the unnamed and lands in such a way that it might betray that it has a bit of weight to it. It displaces landmass and sinks into the ground much the same way a sword might when landing on its point.=

=Unless IV ismagicallyreinforced, the globes truth is going to hurt. It explodes in a brilliant flash that should only belong to a star going critical. The implosion should be more than enough force to cripple most beings. The unnamed, holding the staff that once safely contained this globe, doesn't seem to flinch; though, his hair and some of the feathers of his pairs of wings are drawn to it...before the cascading effect of such a force takes its second stage. The outward force of an explosion. The time between the two too little for any to prepare for. Unless, that is, one had already prepared. The unnamed moves several pairs of wings to shield his body from the explosion. If IV somehow manages to maintain his kick, that kick might land just before the wings become as shields, but it will be too late for IV to defend himself at that point.=*

34Tacitus

Just as the unnamed seemed to be shrugging off enough crushing power to turn Dwarven Blackrock to a fine powder or Darksteel sheets into crumpled paper the beast seems to weather the storm just fine. That incredible heat the unnamed kept insisting had to be melting the poor man had temped his body and made superman lok like a computer nerd with a cold. The kick would indeed continue and would strike before the wings were in place. Sure, he'd be missing chunks of flesh and most, if not all, of his clothing, but if all that power was all the unnamed had to offer in a simple fight, he'd find fighting the beast a war of attricion he could not win. The grip continued, though he would most likely have now covered the unnamed being with blood.

Below, the card would hit the blood and vanish. The card would have no way of stopping the means by which it is removed from the match due to the antimagic field and the unnamed would have no way to retrieve it.

35[Unnamed Angel]

=Except, of course, that the blood would be vaporized by the explosion. Unless, of course, this "antimagic" field is just using the term "antimagic" to try and explain why all natural occurances that can't be comprehended by the primitive IV and Dominion and "supernatural" occurances are quelled...as long as they belong to the unnamed. As long as this hypocrisy continues, the unnamed would remain unaffected by anything this peon tried. It is kind of interesting that nothing the unnamed has done has been "supernatural" in anyway since that mana surged over his body, which did have an effect just before the "antimagic" field overtook him.=

36Tacitus

The chance for an explanation of the basis behind the antimagic field was offered but outright refused, and thus the explaination of its traits is not needed. The previous mention of utmost control of the field by IV should give insight to its greater effects, almost like the absolute territory of a true psychic being. The fact that IV was now several dozen tons in weight and had strength enough to crush the most resilient metals into scraps and powder is something that should seem highly unusual given the supposed effects of the field. The previous disorientation effect was indeed generated by the field, a fluxuation between two states of magic availability. IV was slowly gaining more mastery over the field and would soon be able to use the field much like he would his own blood for the casting of spells, despite being in an "antimagic" field. Perhaps the refusal of an explaination shouldn't have been given. No matter how incredible the construction of the unnamed man The Walker had only benefitted from the blast, energy components flooding his blood in a momentary fluxuation and reinforcing his own frame in the process. The unnamed individual could be as god-like as he pleased, but IV wasn't going to sit down and die, wasn't going to give it up, and certainly wasn't going to release the man from his ever growing strength.

37[Unnamed Angel]

((You mean I log on to see this *****?! Oh no, no, no, no, no. I'm not letting you run away from these consequences so easily. It's either an antimagic field or a psychic domain. I don't care if the antimagic field is created because of the psychic domain! It can't be both because the unnamed can't be affected by things that alter his temporal space, such as forced teleportation or psychic domains. That means the antimagic field would become invalidated because the psychic domain nulls within about a two-foot "bubble" around him. You need to cut this ***** of changing the rules every time it suits you.))

((You wanna know the reason I "refused" to see your definition of an antimagic field? I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that you wouldn't pull this ***** again. I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that when you said it was an antimagic field you meant it was an antimagic field. If you meant psychic domain, that's what you ***** should have said! At least I give the requisite information to determine what my character may be doing, either through hints or direct description. I don't go renaming things ambiguously so their purpose can't be determined.))

38Tacitus

((I said it operates similarly to the territory of a pure psychic, not that it was the absolute territory effect. Note the word almost stuck in there, it does wonders. I never once stated that it was a pure antimagic field as per the D&D spell and even supplied hints that it was not as it seemed. At the effect's core it is a ressonance effect that alters frequencies, neutralizes mana curves, and creates static in the divine connection, not to mention a few other effects specific to IV. This is the way I've been doing antimagic the entire damned tournament and you're the only one thats raised a big stink about the magical nullification effects. I've been giving you the benefit of the doubt even having your supposed sphere of uber energy when the field itself is meant to nullify energy gradients and convert frequencies to static. Its not my fault you pissed him off enough to bleed out that much and are giving him time to increase his control over the blood outside his body. I've been telling you that you should actually fight instead of playing your little games for the entire fight, and now you've got a several dozen ton monstrosity clinging to you that is almost ready to start casting "spells" again. I'm still curious as to how your character kept them both aloft with that much weight.))

39[Unnamed Angel]

((That ball of "uber energy" was only released because I thought you were adequately describing the state of the field by saying "antimagic" because it is "supernatural" controls that were holding that globe in check. If you'd been paying attention, *I mentioned that several ***** times! It was something that physics can explain and theoretically create but not control* thus it's never experimented on (and therefore I doubt you'd even fathom a guess as to what it is). Even similiar to an psychic domain, it still alters the temporal space around a given area to create the effects you are mentioning! That's why I'm *** complaining! If you'd adequately described the antimagic effect as being a psychic effected created through the bounds of a "similar to psychic domain" rather than calling it an antimagic field, we wouldn't be to this *** point!))

((FYI: If this is a psychic domain or "similar to aforementioned", then IV "suddenly" becomes normal weight within the "bubble" around the unnamed due to the fact that temporal/space cannot be altered "on" him. I'll also state that a certain pair of wings are natural but appear "ethereal" due to effects that physics, even if a bit on the quantum side, can perfectly explain.))

40Tacitus

((So in other words your character is immune to frequencies. I'll let that slide the next time you start screwing up radio transmissions and the like simply by standing around. I've not actually changed your character's "temporal space" as you suggest. The comparison comes from the fact that psychics utilize their absolute territory to alter frequencies and change the fundamanetal laws of physics within their range of influence to how they dictate it should operate. You're focusing too much on the fact it is compared to a psychic domain without realizing that I've only compared it to half of what a psychic domain does, if even that. The other effects of a psychic domain would most definately be nullified by your "bubble," but I highly doubt you go around fucking up TV reception.))

((I would offer you a way around this, but should I offer you money you'll play the man of honor and take umbrage. Seriously, even should you win this fight the chances of you fighting me again in this branch are incredibly high. Plus, do you really think that any future fights you have will even be worth your time? Look at how much stress this fight alone is causing. Potential gains compared to potential losses and the experiences along the way do not look promising to anyone involved in GTB at all. Jello, for one, has outright forfeitted with most his characters because of the horrible experience that is GTB. I, personally, do not care and as I am filler my purpose is to weed out those who do not care and will not make it to the end. So I ask you, do you really have the desire to possibly fight me in each of the following rounds, should your luck be that bad?))

41[Unnamed Angel]

((Stress? Dude. You ain't ever juggled babysitting, college (specifically physics), a job, and a few other crazy things before. Have you? If this were stress, I'd live off it.))

((In other words, you went and called this an "antimagic" field without taking into account that my character has already used his abilities to alter the electromagnetic spectrum? Oh! That's right! You still think your "insta-link" was valid! Tch. I should really take that into account here. Huh? Whatever the case. The unnamed, as a "self", doesn't "go around *** up TV reception." No. Though his staff certainly does...if not, well you know, surrounded by those arches I had slowly peeling off for...specific reasons (including the fact that "one to two round strip-away" would be...not kosher). In the end. I'm really saying that my posts are *** invalid because of a rename that had nothing to do with the intended ability.))

((Also. You know. Admitting that a judge is acting as "filler" to "weed out those who do not care" is just about the same as admitting the primary reason I didn't like the prospect of this match. Those types of "participants" are only here to use strong-arm tactics to ensure "nobody" wins so the propriator/host doesn't have to hand out prize money. You know. I could care less if I have to fight any more of your characters or not. Heavy odds speak to them being not so living, diefic wannabes, and/or collective powers. It probably just means altering how the staff reacts per match. That is if you don't use your powers as a judge to remove me from the GTB.))

42Tacitus

((The ability to actively alter the electromagnetic spectrum and the passive nullification of whateverthehell you don't like are two entirely seperate things. The frequency modulation of the field disables the ability to generate extremely high level brain functions and instinctual responses. Furthermore, even if you could somehow retain control of whatever you decide to throw at me, the effect would disable anything pushing past your cute bubble. This is only enhanced by the streaming modulation that refuses to remain at a constant such as to disallow adaptation.))

((As to the judge bit, remember, I was a participant MONTHS before I was promoted to the status of judge and crew member. It was my choice to be filler before GTB even started MONTHS before there was any incling that I might be suitable for crewmanship. I'm not admitting that I'm playing the enforcer, I'm telling you that you seem to think I'm trying to kick people out because I don't want anyone to win. Thats hardly the case. I've always wanted to win and now that Gelmax has been long gone, I don't see anyone who can stop my large number of characters. And if someone can get past the deluge, fine, by all means, they can have the prize money. This has nothing to do with me being a judge.))

((Oh, and I have. Try job, business (now complete with law-based fun), psychopath future in-laws with knives, and the rest of fun that is daily life. The idea was that I'm trying to offer you a way to not let a mere game add onto things you must worry about. Seems you'd rather play the brigand and attack me.))

43[Unnamed Angel]

((I'll apologize this response took so long. Had some physics to take care of.))

((I'm arguing against the ambiguous rename of "frequency alteration" to "antimagic field" when the two are not mutually inclusive. It's the frequency alteration that causes antimagic-like effects. Unless I'm utterly mistaken. That ambiguous rename causes everything after, if I reevaluated the circumstances correctly, the mana surge to be invalid. The ability to actively alter the electromagnetic spectrum and passive nullification of space/time effects are within the bounds of the type of effects you, ultimately, described.))

((FYI: The staff doesn't need a message from the unnamed to do anything about the electromagnetic spectrum in the area. In fact. The unnamed doesn't even know about a third of the actions the staff is taking. I guess you didn't pick up on those hints either?))

((I didn't say you were here to kick people out. Now did I? I merely pointed out that something you said was "just about" the same thing as a thought I had entering a match against a judge. If you combine that with the apparent strong-arm tactics, it kinda makes things, well, suspicious.))

((It's good to know that you have some idea. However. "attack" and "dig for information" are mutually exclusive and feel a whole lot similar.))

44Tacitus

((The general name of antimagic field is used so I don't have to go into a long winded explaination of the metaphysics of an effect that can be explained with two words. Most people accept the nature of the field and we all get on with our lives instead of bickering for pages on end. You seem to think that one or the other cannot accomplish the goals I have set forth, when in fact they are both simply the same mechanism with different and/or more precise explainations.))

45[Unnamed Angel]

((Okay. By your logic...))

(("A field frequency modulation, affecting the electromagnetic spectrum, creates an effect very similar to an antimagic field and quickly overtakes the boundaries set for the arena." is long winded? Wait! You must be assuming I'm an idiot who can't take hints from that, read into things, and realize what you're refering to? Instead you want to make a long winded explaination in a PM? I'd rather you save the hassle and *tell me what you ***** mean* rather than waste both of our time.))

((I really don't care what "most people" think. This is the here and now. This is a fact you've gotta face. I'm not trying to bicker. I'm trying to bring up points to get a ***** issue resolved while, maybe, having some fun with it by pointing out how many times this kind of flaw has arisen in due course.))

((Also. They can't be the same mechanism. In an antimagic field, the caster and opponent are both affected equally as it doesn't affect the time-space around either, it doesn't contradict with inborn resistances or immunities, and it doesn't have psychic tendrils that can affect it on a whim. Your field can be affected by IV on a whim. It's either psychic in origin, such as a psychic domain which can't affect the unnamed to begin with, or something which can have countermeasures against it. You stated frequencies and modulations in the electromagnetic spectrum which, guess what?, my character has already displayed the ability to ***** with. You, so nonchalantly, stated that the only way my character could affect this field was if he could do just that.))

((I'll condense this into as few words as possible. If it is not an antimagic field, it is not an antimagic field.))

46Tacitus

((I never said it was limited to the electromagnetic spectrum, I said it was based on frequencies, and as the EM spectrum is based in that field it can also be affected. Furthermore, you can try to affect the EM spectrum all you like, but the aspect of control that attempts to alter the frequencies of the EM spectrum would be nullified before it begins, and even if you did somehow succeed it would be a moot point, nullified further by the field.))

((This field is not just some transmission or vibrational effect filling the entire area, it is emmanating from IV's blood. He triggered the effect which began to field and slowly that field has been adapting to him and vice versa. This would allow his breed of control to be maintained over the field and give him an on-off switch. If you can slip in a spell during the brief periods the field is off, feel free to go ahead and do it. You've had several opportunities and simply ignored them. But like I said, eventually he'll adapt the field such that he can generate spell-like abilities on a massive scale, altering the frequencies as would a psion to employ various forms of kinesis.))

((If you had just fought him in the first place you wouldn't have to deal with this. But no, everyone has to have some sort of trick, some sort of be all end all mechanism to put Goku to shame. I'd been hoping to actually fight someone for once, not get into another metaphysics debate over why nothing but the good ole tooth and nail approach works.))

47[Unnamed Angel]

((Now you're going to assume my character is based off Goku wannabe idiocy? That's rich coming from somebody using deity wannabes and collectives. You know it's quite boring to deal with hypocrites.))

((If you wanted to fight "tooth and nail" as you imply, it would be a field affecting both characters equally. If you wanted to fight "tooth and nail" as you imply, your character might have actually said something to that affect rather than relying on that collective force of yours. It's just too bad for you that, if it is an antimagic field, the timing couldn't have been worse.))

((What's funny about this field is this. It nullifies anything you don't want to recognize from your opponents despite perfectly acceptable explanations or ability to explain while anything you don't want to or can't explain remains unaffected. What's my problem? I've been treating this as an antimagic field, dismantling each supernatural effect (magical barriers containing and utilizing that globe; psionic barriers on the mind and body of the unnamed; etc.), but you imply and assume that more and more supernatural effects keep cropping up. The perfectly natural response of the globe once its containment was broken down was ignored as mostly/all supernatural. You just want to use this field as a way to ignore anything you don't like.))

((The unnamed, as a self, cannot do a *** thing about the electromagnetic spectrum, which contains all frequencies from the lowest infrareds to the highest ultraviolets and even has a say on atomic bonding. It's the *** staff that does that, specifically the globe that produces the effects naturally. It's just the staff that has it do a job through proper containment and utilization. The staff was created as a direct contradiction to/of deity wannabes, collectives, and power-centric characters. If you can't comprehend what that means, I have no desire to explain what that means. Needless to say. It's the reason I mentioned restrictions on the staff's use and had an unlock period.))

48Tacitus

((I used the aspects of my character as I did because you started the fight using tactics not based in simply beating one another upside the skull. And by the fact he continually tried to eat your character's face it should have been obvious that he was trying to pwn melee style.))

((No, see, it does affect both characters, but over the course of the effect my character has been adapting to it. As for the rest, you're still arguing that you're godly with restrictions that go away in an antimagic field and you somehow can't be hurt by anything. Because, you know, being invincible in any way isn't munching. I've largely given up trying to argue with you because for some reason you seem convinced I'm wrong and you're gods gift to killing me.))

49[Unnamed Angel]

((I'm not convinced you're wrong or anything like that. I'm convinced that you aren't listening to a ***** thing I'm saying; therefore, you aren't arguing.))

((I wasn't saying or posting that my character was invincible. Rather I was posting that you were treating the field in a way that made it impossible to do anything but be a spectator. Your character doubles in strength and weight for every instance of seeming supernatural mine uses? That's comical to no ends of the meaning.))

((If it ain't an antimagic field, don't *** say it's an antimagic field! That's what I'm *** saying. You've admitted several times that isn't not an actual antimagic field but has similar, but nowhere near the same effects, and yet you keep saying it is in the same breath. You wanna make up your ***** mind?))

((No, you're right, I'm not listening, and haven't been for about 3 or 4 posts now. I just don't care.))

((And yes, the two effects are not the same. One is a generic focus on magical effects and the other is a detailed focus on all metaphysical events.))

((You know. I didn't think it would be that easy to get ayou to admit to neglecting your judge's duty of listening to the concerns raised. In other words, I really didn't think you'd admit to that so easily. You got one thing wrong, though. You haven't been listening from the beginning, including IC.))

If you'd properly described it from the beginning, we wouldn't be here. Now. You either suck it up and live with it being an antimagic field or we are forced to go back to my post directly after and start over. Comprende?))

((Oh, the judge part of me has never been listening. I'm not a judge in my own fights, silly.))

((You keep saying that the effect changes how things should have worked, but you've yet to tell me how it makes a difference. Unless, of course, I did that "I'm not listening to you" thing or don't care to remember.))

53[Unnamed Angel]

((Forgive me for being hesitant in repeating the information. It just happens to prove that you, indeed, weren't listening.))

((The globe, which you mistakingly believe to be some ball of uber-energy created through mystical means, would not have its effects nullified by your little field. Because of that, those two effects would, in essence, counter each other. This would either create a "null field" where it acts more like a true antimagic field (ie: IV could not have done any doubling nor would his blood have any effect on powers/objects and the unnamed would not have potential "unsealed" nor weapons take completely inert state) or an overlap (something similar to the "bubble" that would occur if IV were using a psychic domain around the unnamed).))

54Tacitus

((Fine, right, whatever, but where, exactly, would that former option leave us in terms of what we've been trying to do IC?))

((Not what I meant, but meh.))

The hulk of flesh and bone had ceased his bleeding and was at this point merely standing in a massive pool of his own blood. A single step would carry him forward as he reached into his chest and pulled free one of his ribs. The wound would slowly close and the missing bone would be replaced as he began a slow advance towards the unnamed. His skin seemed to crawl as he regarded his opponent, damn well ready to end this fight.

59[Unnamed Angel]

((Apparently a misunderstanding as what your statement seemed to imply is that you wanted the "last valid post" or something to reference for proceedings. As you said, however. Meh.))

*=The unnamed looks between his staff and the chains around his left arm. Then he gives a quick glance over his shoulder. Those three are actually silent for once. Well... That won't last long. He can already feel those three reacting to the newly created "null" field. They're vibrating, and those vibrations could easily start producing sound waves. It's times like these the unnamed almost wished he could freely recall how he came to acquire Lion's Cry, Paradox, and Aces. One slight addendum the unnamed notes. The chains aren't vibrating. The strange links are moving. The movement ends quickly enough as the chains merely cover more like armor, over his chest, and free his left arm more for combat. Still. The way the chain wraps now might give a better impression of a whip than it was before.=

=Still flapping his wings to keep him aloft, he knows he unlocked that one guard of the gate. He even has a clear image of it in his mind; though, it seems he didn't unlock near enough of that inundating energy to use it naturally. This null field ensures that "quick and easy" communication with his weapons would be impossible. The unnamed has one concern in that. Would that mean he couldn't control themnotto do certain things he wouldn't approve? He knows he doesn't have time to think too deeply as he takes a defensive stance, waiting for IV to approach a bit closer. The globe at the height of his staff softly glows, even pulsing at a sinusoidal pace, and it is pointed away from IV, implying a powerful strike from a full arch. The position of his left arm, tightly grasping the chain still having a few coils around said hand, implying a readied defense. The ever watching gaze of the unnamed falls upon IV, those two toned orbs of his. The platinum eye still seems to never blink where the blue one has almost too soft a look to it.=

=It would appear, at first glance, that the unnamed is hiding nothing of his stance. He's even slowly lowering himself, perhaps with the same or similar intentions as IV. Resolution.=*

60Tacitus

As he advances his hand quickly dips down, sliding through the blood to bring up a portion of rock, which he quickly consumes. The section of bone in his hand seems to be adding to its own size and shape, some force beyond magic forming it from a simple bone to what seems to be a high density bone fragment fashioned into a long dagger with a slight curve to it. With a final glance to the ground around him he nods and snaps his attention back to the unnamed individual. His skin ripples for a moment before he crouches and launches himself at his opponent, blade held at the ready with the apparent intent of ramming it through the man's blue eye.

61[Unnamed Angel]

*=The unnamed holds his stance; though, the a slight tightening of grip on the staff might indicate preparedness for defense. As IV advances, he might hear a slight harmonic begin to pick up. It's almost like a low hum or whistle, and it could be easily dismissed as the rustling of the wind. The unnamed recognizes it as he can also feel the cause; his weapons are vibrating. There is no unease or concern addressed on his face. His body shows swift action once IV is in just the right position. A quick, upward slant of the shaft end of the staff would ensure a quick, efficient defense. What happens next depends on IV's reaction and the readiness of the unnamed.=

=If IV's rush proves to be a feint, the unnamed would turn the upward momentum of the shaft into a roundhouse spin to carefully deflect the renewed strike of the bone-blade and retaliate with an uppercut towards the face. If IV is parried as he continues on course, the upward momentum of the staff would be swung right back down towards his skull for a powerful, knock-out blow. If IV is parried but uses his own momentum to his advantage, the unnamed would just have to catch the head of his staff as it swings under his arm to use as a psuedo-shield as he prepares for whatever comes next. Whatever happens, the unnamed watches IV with that two-toned gaze that never seems to go away...=*

62Tacitus

The hand with the dagger goes wide and he simply continues on, brining on the reaction of the staff coming down to his skull. Instead of striking him, however, his free hand intervenes as his head slides to one side to catch the staff with a series of cracking sounds from within his hand and wrist. This, however, would not affect his grip as his body twisted in the air, pivoting on the staff. His legs would be brought in close to then spring out at the unnamed man's head and chest.

63[Unnamed Angel]

*=That grip might not be the best thing for IV. As the staff is vibrating, it would cause deterioration in that springing kick. That won't change any response from the unnamed. He swings his left fist towards the hand IV has gripping his staff. Still attached to the chain, a mass movement of that chain acts as both an offensive and defensive measure. A shield and whip as one could be said of the wave-like movement, and there's a sharp tip heading to impale IV's incoming leg, the one aimed towards the head of the unnamed.=

=If IV is dislodged by the punch, he'd certainly avoid the sharp tip but would likely be thrown to the ground by various forces. If he is not, the kick should do some blunt force to the arm and chest of the unnamed. While that would cause the unnamed to take a step back, he'd couple that by swinging his staff to impact IV into the ground, likely to shatter bones and earth as well as amplifying the pain of the impaled tip. The unnamed, all the while, tucks his wings to thrust himself into the air, putting enough distance between them to prepare the next strike. Though...an impaled leg might drag IV into the air some. That might be painful. All the while, the unnamed is mindful of that bone-blade.=*

64Tacitus

((...you posted with three minutes to spare. h8 XP))

The chain would slightly blunt his strike, but not enough to not make it hurt like a bitch. The movement of the staff would force him down, but when the unnamed darted into the air IV would be taken with him. As opposed to causing him pain, or even doing further damage to his leg, it would be giving him an advantage. The hand holding the dagger would plunge it into his chest before sweeping down to spread open the opposite side of his leg and pull the chain through. This would effectively be tearing the the chain away from the unnamed. From there he would shove it into his chest to then remove the blade again. At this point he'd pretty much be hanging from the staff and the chain that now connected the two.

65[Unnamed Angel]

(( stare Forgive me for Valentine's Day and family.))

*=The vibrations of the weapons the unnamed carries are enough to cause harmonics similar to a low humming...or singing. It might be hard to distinguish. He even takes a moment to listen to those harmonics. What he hears is processed easily enough. His weapons simply know of another way of communicating that is not psionic in nature nor against the "laws" created in the newly governing null field. Even if the Dominion IV mentioned could still have influence within this null field, neither would quite be able to understand what is being communicated. That's actually part of what is being said. The other is a reiteration that IV has been cut off from that Dominion, just as the unnamed has been cut off from Momiji and direct/easy communication.=

=As the unnamed feels IV attempt to rip the chains away, he tightens the grip of his left hand around the lead of links and gives it a few, quick pulls. He uses those actions to draw the chain into a quick loop to get his arm into, so he creates three "loops" around his arm. All this right before a heavier thrust to send a wave of kinetic energy through the chain, which can physically be seen. Unless IV dislodges the chain from his chest, he'd be thrown up before being pummeled into the ground, multiple times as the unnamed watches and repeats the action. This action should also serve to sever IV's grip on the staff. It might even prove to give the sharp tip a chance to disembowel IV as it is forcibly dislodged from his body only to bring a few...souvenirs with it. Not that the unnamed is expecting that to have any reaction from IV.=

=With all this, what could the plans of the unnamed actually be? There's still the sinusoidal pulse of that globe. He also took a kick to the chest. The one to the arm is easy enough to ignore as the bending motion of the elbow aids a lot like a spring and the chains act to disperse the force. Perhaps the material of the clothes he wears helps in the same way, by dispersing some of the force? In the end, he just responded to somebody trying to yank one of his weapons away by putting his body into a motion to dissuade further attempts. That would, perhaps, be the implication.=*

66Tacitus

IV's leverage against the chains would make taking them away from him nearly impossible, and would only further cement his position up close and personal to the unnamed. He'd not be going anywhere in the aftermath of the kinetic thrust as the chain would simply be growing too short between them for him to go anywhere. Each kinetic thrust after the first would end abruptly at his leg and thus do nothing at all beyond that point. Bone would weave through the links and begin absorbing the kinetic energy as it travelled down the chain. That chain wasn't going anywhere and was, effectively, a lost cause for the unnamed man to even consider anymore.

With his grip only shaken but once he would still be hanging onto the staff, now pulling himself up against it. From the unnamed man's perspective it would seem like he was trying to pull the staff away from him, but that was merely the effect of his strength and weight. His unencumbered leg would swing up and attempt to reorganize the man's face. The dagger seemed to be growing slightly longer and the area around them seemed to be brighter, in fact the entire arena seemed brighter. It must have just been an optical illusion being dispelled by the field and returning to the norm, right?

67[Unnamed Angel]

*=The kick lands. Rather squarely. IV might notice that something had caught some of the force just before impact, but an impact is an impact. Right? The unnamed, however, doesn't so much as flinch, which allows a small cut to appear on his cheek. He might have dispersed some of the energy from the kick if he had turned his head with the force, coming away with merely a bruise. Instead. He stares intently (platinum right) sorrowfully (blue left) at IV. Is he deaf to even blunt force? That is the question the unnamed must ask now. IV had to know that the unnamed has shown the ability to lengthen and split the chain links to seemingly any length and number (respectively). Therefore. Would IV really believe him worried about pulling or tearing the weapon away? Even when the unnamed has even shown willingness to "break" the chain?=

=IV may think taking hold of the chains and staff would leave the unnamed defenseless against a coming strike from the bone-blade, but that object is something he is keeping well aware of. He even takes his left hand to grasp the staff as his right moves down the shaft and towards his side, even angling his right leg. All the while he's keeping them aloft. Why? Keeping a seeming stubborn hold of the weapons would seem against the favor of the unnamed. The new stance also wouldn't explain the perplexing duality of the appearance of his eyes.=

=As IV notices the blood trickling down the cheek of the unnamed and the seeming emotions reflected through the eyes of the same person (if he even looks that is), he should also start to feel something else inside of him. What an interesting predicament to create an unavoidable attack...forone's opponent. At first a strange, crunching sound might be heard as bones break away from the links of the chains within IV's body. That strange, predatory cry from before might be better understood now, especially as regenerative properties wouldn't bring that bone back. Soon enough. It would be flesh. How can this be happening in the null field? Perhaps the natural state of the chains isnotas chains. Perhaps the properties of the chain's material is able to reflect even the smallest wavelength effectively rendering any frequency use, well, null. Perhaps any number of theories could be used and tossed aside. Whatever the case, regeneration of what is "consumed" appears impossible, and the "consumption" seems related to the sorrow transparent in the left blue eye. What of the intent in the right platinum eye then?=*

68Tacitus

Genetics. The base foundations of life, and even unlife. These simple building blocks are well founded in science and altered from afar by the forces of magic. What happens, then, when one's own genetic code begins to evolve without the direction of an outside force? What happens when a simple strand of triple -yes, as in one more than double- helix DNA is far more than simple fragments of protein and sugars? If the unnamed were the one being observant he'd notice subtle shifts in the frame of the beast, subtle shifts that had been indicated previously and were on the verge of cascade. The greatest sign of change had been that of his skin, crawling and shifting, but now a tint of jade would exist within the coals that smouldered in the recesses of his skull.

Evolution. Darwin's surely joygasming in his grave.

The bone blade continues its fun little growth pattern as the bones within IV get a little bit squishy. Though hell, by the way these babies are constructed the chain wouldn't be making nearly the progress assumed. Superman wishes he had IV's bones, and Wolverine would be glad to have the trade off of not being Magneto's puppet now and again. Though I doubt Wolvering would survive the exchange, even though IV would be happy as a clam in the interim. Being squishy was fun too.

IV begins twitching the blade toward the unnamed, as if trying to pick out the best parts to stab him. While he's apparently waiting on that his foot retracts and strikes out at the unnamed man's face again, this time aiming to take a few teeth and implant them in the walls or ground somewhere not quite nearby. He could have fun all day kicking at the guy's face, it was actually rather funny that he just took it, all that wonderful focus on the blade IV planned on stabbing him with.

69[Unnamed Angel]

*=If evolution has anything to do with the speed at which the chains would "progress", it certainly wouldn't be showing it. There was no assumed progress. Rather. There was an attempt at prevention and keeping this a fight. The gnawing sound, as well as any crisp breaking sounds, slowly disappear as more squishy bones and fibrous flesh come into contact. Even the enjoyment of or desensitivity to pain wouldn't dull what's happening. The unnamed doesn't shift his gaze. As much as IV might want all focus on the blade, it is the whole of IV which has the focus. It is the world around and any subtle signals as to a strike or how a strike will come. The first kick to land was more a chance to show IV that taking the chains into his body in such a manner was not something that should have been done. If another strike is to land, IV had better learn to be far stealthier in his strikes.=

=With his current position, the unnamed knows how quickly he can dodge a stab, slice, cut, draw, or any number of other maneuvers with that bone-blade. He's also not about to ignore the size or rate of growth. The only brightness that should be of concern is the pulsating glow of his own staff, but he keeps tabs on anything else that might be used, or useful. In the meantime, further attempts to kick just wouldn't be courteous to his opponent.=

=Rather than buffer himself and take the kick as he did last time, the unnamed makes sure his position is favorable before taking a sharp lean back and spinning his body away from the kick. It would put both into an unfavorable position to try to strike again, but it may well force a specific type of strike from that bone-blade. All the while, the unnamed keeps track of just how best to pull off the next stunt while possibly still being in a spin. All the while he wonders if IV will expel the chains to take this back to something more resembling a battle of tournament expectations. It's not like the unnamed is here to please the whims of his weapons.=*

70Tacitus

This was the point where IV seems to stop being IV. Great wings burst from his back as his flesh seems to tear away from his body to build the majority of the wings' membranes. Under where his flesh had been is a lithe form which is quite slick and rather amorphous. That which had been altered by the chain attempts a revision while the surrounding tissues alter beyond the scope of bone and organic tissues. A sort of quarantine would form around the chain to disallow spreading of the effect with inorganic membranes and what seems to be a stone based composite foreign to this world.

The two would begin spinning quite wildly as IV's wings beat in hopes of generating a chaotic spin. The bone blade continues its own shift in length as IV's leg retracts, but only for a short distance. The strike this time is an attempt to land a two taloned foot with a third facing the opposing direction directly on the unnamed's chest. This may seem quite odd, in both form and function, as that would seemingly require IV's leg to not only change shape drastically but bend backwards. What made it within the bounds of logic was that these terms were exactly the case. If the foot made contact with his chest a fluid would be left behind that would begin a dissolution of the molecular bonds of whatever it touched of foreign origin. The dissolution seemed to be working on a subatomic level, some unknown particle within the organic compound adversely affecting the quantum mechanics therein.

71[Unnamed Angel]

*=The unnamed has no idea what the chains, specifically, are experiencing. He can only listen to the sounds they are creating to take a guess. The null field makes sure he can't communicate with his weapons in the usual way, and his chains aren't vibrating anymore. The sounds arise an interesting question. Why had sounds of gnawing and breaking returned? IV should probably be asking himself a question about now. Are these chains going to disobey every law of physics this null field is forcing them to adhere to? The answer lies in what the chains consume and how it can be said that no conservation laws are ignored. Perhaps there should have been careful consideration of the fact that the chains showed varying degrees of ability to grow and split in previous matches.=

=Regardless. It could be said the chains are having a field day while the unnamed remains calm in the attempt by IV to create a chaotic spin. Under normal circumstances, the attempt might have been allowed. However. The unnamed uses his number advantage, in terms of wing pairs. He merely stabilizes the spin. As for stopping it, that would require too much effort. Allowing IV to continue it and himself to merely stabilize it takes far less effort and allows a maintained level of focus. In the meantime, the unnamed keeps his new grip on his staff and posture ready. The glowing pulse continues at its "normal" pace at the head of the staff.=

=It doesn't appear that the unnamed can be surprised by much of anything. Neither of his two-toned eyes reveal a hint of surprise. This third kick may well indicate IV is not quite ready to use that bone-blade; though, there is a chance it reveals desperation or something other. A kick to the chest would mean passing between his arms and over his staff. He presses his bent, right leg against the shaft of his staff only to kick off of it. In an instant, he tucks his wings in a way to allow quicker movement, seemingly to disallow an action from IV to disrupt this maneuver, but also causing the spin to become chaotic if only for a moment...which actually helps make the maneuver faster. The way the unnamed makes his midair maneuver not only allows the unnamed a quick escape from the oncoming kick but adds two other factors. The first is that the staff and chain still left between IV and himself don't tangle. The final is that IV would find his leg, nearest the talons, pinned against his body rather uncomfortably by the remaining chain links between them. The unnamed would simply return to the position he was in before, wings spread and beating to keep the spin not chaotic, leg bent near staff, and arms spread carefully along the shaft with his right hand nearest his waist.=

=The pinning of the leg and return to position might be altered by immediate response. Considering the speed at which all this would happen, especially in the brief chaotic spin, this is the most likely and what should still be seen if only for a brief moment.=*

72Tacitus

The wings of the beast continued to expand while a second pair began to work its way out through his back. This second pair, however, was vastly different from the first in that the first were normal batlike wings and these second seemed almost insectlike, vibrating the moment they were grown. The unnamed would begin finding it more and more difficult to maintain control of the spin the longer IV was left to evolve and adapt to the situation at hand. The pinning of his leg against him would be rather useless as its size and shape continued to change. A new joint was afforded to his leg as it bent to lash out at the unnamed man in any way possible, the acidic substance still waiting to dissolve away what it touched.

73[Unnamed Angel]

*=IV might want to question why the unnamed has not once allowed contact to the staff to be lost. He might also concern himself with the loss of mass he is experiencing due to the chains he took into his own body. As the stone-like, inorganic structures break completely down, the chains would once again be in contact with the myriad forms of flesh available outside that hastily constructed quarantine. The material won't matter, and some body parts, especially that of IV's impaled leg, now or will experiance impeded movement. The unnamed had tried to remove the chain. Too bad.=

=The unnamed does pay attention to the fruitless thrashings of IV's pinned leg. Due to the chains proximity to the actual talons, it would be a while before added dexterity would allow a kick to land. In the meantime... The style the unnamed uses is about fluidity, using the opponent's attacks and momentum against them. The attempts at creating a chaotic spin are as much a boon to him as they would be to IV. The next action might seem against the way the unnamed would normally fight. With his left leg, he sends a powerful, angled kick to IV's side. It would be the shin of the unnamed impacting IV's right abdomen, if the kick connects. Following this, he would use the momentum of the spin to pull his leg back, regardless of impact, only to thrust his foot towards the midgut of IV. The whole action to push off of him and force him to let go of the staff. That's how it would appear, but the unnamed could easily use this as a feint for something else...=

=As for the spin. It remains relatively stable. The unnamed, afterall, is expending a minimal energy for this. There's no real reason to stop a chaotic spin.=*

74Tacitus

The strikes against IV's torso are met with little resistance, only the first one connecting with the second one simply not happening. After the first the unnamed would, quite simply, be stuck to IV by his shin and thusly be unable to deliver a second kick. The advance of the chains would be halted as the molecular acid began flooding the quarantined area. By now IV's leg with the chain in it would be quite massive, rather bulbous due to the abnormal growth. The air around the two would seem dry, if anything on the unnamed man's side could determine as such. The bone blade continued its growth as the two pairs of wings continued their growth and began trying to steer the two to the north.

75[Unnamed Angel]

*=Though the "molecular acid" could dissolve the chains, it isn't nearly fast enough. There are many varieties of molecular bonds, differing strengths of both ionic and covalent. The chains consume the strange fluid, both while it is active and neutralized. If it is an acid, it will have a base which will combine with it and create water and a salt. If it is a protein, it has a nature and denature state. Either way, there are at least two rules of dissolution the fluid would have to follow, "likes dissolve likes" and mol count. A moment after the initial contact between the "molecular acid" and the chains IV took into himself, a couple of drips escape from what might appear, at first glance, to be a hole created in the staff of the unnamed. What drips out follows a path directly towards IV's hand still grasping the staff. It's that same fluid he's producing now, yet it does nothing to the staff as it runs down the shaft. Meanwhile. The globe atop the staff still slowly pulsates.=

=The unnamed must ask himself his own questions. It's no surprise the what he's been told by his staff is accurate, but did that really mean he would have to end this the way his weapons seemed to want to? What escapes his lips may be a knell for IV. A sigh. Of what? There's no emotion in the strange evacuation of air. Then the unnamed grasps both hands to his staff and pushes it forward. At the same time, he says something. What would be interesting in this is the fact that nobody listening would understand it. The tongue alien to all ears of those listening. It sounds soothing, like a beautiful melody.=

=What's the purpose of all this? The strange, harmonics that were once coming from the staff and card-shaped item at the side of the unnamed simply cease, the same of their vibrations. The chains within IV do just the opposite. They go from a still calm to violently vibrating. There's no clue as to why; though, it might just depend on what the unnamed just said. Observers might note that the weaker willed in the audience fell unconscious. No magic involved. No supernatural. Their brains just short-circuited is all. Nothing fatal. A few might have headaches. Nothing major. No ill effects for IV either. Then why? The only thing IV really need worry about is the sudden force applied in his direction on the staff. Nothing he can stop with the force of one arm, especially in a bad position. The end of the shaft may even pierce him as it angles somewhere between where a stomach and kidney might be in a human torso. Not that the unnamed expects anything to be there.=*

76Tacitus

As the fluid comes in contact with IV's skin it incorporates into the strange substance coating his skin. The chain would find the molecular acid changing in strength and composition as another burst of fluid moved to dissolve it with greater intensity than the last. His skin seemed to ripple out from the point of contact by the fluid from the staff. Even as his two sets of wings continue their growth the whole of his body seems to vibrate, the vibrational effect created by his dragonfly type wings passing through his bone structure almost as a counterpoint to that of the chain.

The staff, now that would certainly seem to be a problem, if not for the fact that when the staff came towards him he didn't try to push it away. In fact, he pulled on it so as to bring it wowards him faster, and when it went right past him -his body shifting out of the way- he didn't seem ready to stop, trying to use that force to take it farther than the unnamed intended. Of course, a nice stab from his bone blade to whatever fleshy bits got close was always fun too.

77[Unnamed Angel]

*=Ignoring the chemical and physical impossibilities of the "molecular acid" changing in composition, IV has performed beautifully as if an actor in some twisted movie. Everything is on cue. The unnamed had no intention of actually piercing; though, he had used enough force that even the dull end of the shaft could have done so. The moment forward momentum is added, the unnamed releases the grip of his right hand only to brandish what doesn't appear to be more than a simple card. In a quick motion, he changes the momentum of the staff into an angular velocity. This causes it to move towards a diagonal impact with IV. That seems to be the intent, but it would also work to intercept the incoming bone-blade. Why reach for the seeming card?=

=The intention of letting go of the shaft with only the right hand and maintaining it with the left will become obvious very soon, but there's a very important matter in why the chains seemed to just suddenly begin vibrating. A "counter pulse" from IV's wings is just another factor in what's going on. Because he cannot reduce his body temperature to zero degrees kelvin, the point where all vibrations cease known as absolute zero, without killing himself, it's really impossible to truly counter the chains. The question remains. Why vibrate? It's simply chemistry and physics. An acid molecule not dissolved in some liquid, preferably water, is useless, and proteins (as well as sugars and lipids, not to mention DNA) denature in temperatures outside their preferential range. The chains use energy and counter-energy to create a lot of friction and heat very quickly.=

=That's not the end of it. IV now makes a "complete, uninterrupted circuit" with himself, the unnamed, and the staff. Didn't he think about the pulsating globe? The fact that the unnamed always kept two hands on the shaft? Now the potential path is from the staff to the unnamed to the chains to IV and back to the staff. In a sense, this is a new path of least resistance created by a short circuit when the ground is removed. Why had the fluid come out of the staff in the first place? Perhaps one, final, and futile attempt at generosity or to show an interconnectivity. Whatever the case might have been or currently be, electrolysis is the final result. A "molecular acid" has nothing on this effect. The effect would be a lot like a squirrel touching an electrical line incorrectly. A complete and sudden dehydration and flash-frying. Only this is on a different (higher) scale.=

=Why doesn't this current do anything to the unnamed? The short answer is that it does. The thing is that it's being put to use, and all IV couldpossiblybe is just another conduit made a conductor simply because of how much current is being pushed.=

=All the while, something is happening in the sky just above the null field...which has shrunk ever so slightly...=*

There was one simple problem in the addition of electrical current to IV's body, such that the idea of electricution to a point of not only frying him but fucking his acid over quite well would be irrelevant. The nature of his skin is not simply flesh for the sake of being flesh, and aside from its adaptability it should be clear that when the fluid came in contact with his skin there was some sort of layer over it. In short, the electrical current would pass over IV, going around him in small paths that left lines on the surface of his skin, and do absolutely nothing to his body. Continued application would induce evolution such that he would be able to harness the electricity as he pleased, something that would definately not be fun for the unnamed.

As his wings continue to grow in size the beast seems to not notice the extra weight and strain they must be applying to his form. When the staff moved to strike him, and it would, the unnamed would find it locking to IV's body rather securely. In addition to the other qualities of his skin it seemed to be rather capable of acting as an adhesive, or did now. Removing the staff from his skin would not be the easiest of tasks, and seeing as how IV tried to thrust his body at the unnamed like a nymphomaniac college girl in heat it could be assumed the rest of him was getting rather sticky too.

=If the conduit were staff to IV to unnamed to staff, the nature of IV's skin might have made a difference. The conductive path, however, is staff to unnamed to thechains*to internal IV to external IV to staff. IV can't evolve if his DNA is denatured and fragmented. His body can't do anything without hydration. Then there's the problems proteins and lipids have with heat and electricity. Basically, muscles break down, and cells explode. In the end, the resistance of his skin would break down (electron tunneling and induced magnetism helping there), and the unnamed easily pry himself from the adhesive skin as it breaks down. Maybe IV should have taken the invitation to remove the chains and release the staff.=

=Meanwhile. There is that interesting event in the sky.=*

((Well then, if we are deciding to be inflexible in our opinions, I'll just go back and state there couldn't be any circuit due to there being no completion. Going from staff through skin to chain fails, as it acts as an insulator and thus disables the circuit. Furthermore, if you really want to nit-pick, the skin is no doubt touching the chain because the chain goes through the skin, and would thusly continue along the chain. Going into his body would not be the path of least resistance when the circuit goes through the chain and back to you/your staff.))

((I'm at least being flexible in the fact that I allowed the circuit to complete and it did affect him to some small degree. But I guess you don't like playing nice.))

81[Unnamed Angel]

((Oh? I wonder who's more flexible. The one ignoring observable chemical and physical traits/theories/laws to further a fantasy? ...or... The one not ignoring, or allowing, unproven/able theories based on shaky foundations of sand?))

82Tacitus

((So the fact that his skin is an insulator is pure fantasy and could never happen ever anywhere by any means? Oh yes, a fluid layer on the skin designed to alter its chemical composition based on biological stimulous obviously can't be logical. His skin doesn't conduct electricity, but the fluid does. You failed trying to fry him to pieces. Either -Editted out- repost or go grab Moo, cause I'm done arguing with you -Editted out-

83[Unnamed Angel]

((Actually, an arguement I hadn't even brought up yet was the impossibility of an ideal insulator (infinite resistance) and how the insulation would have been broken down, so I wasn't refering to that quite yet. If you want to get into that, that's fine too. I was just refering to your statement of flexibility and adding in that you were using something for much of this fight that can easily be argued impossible in a null field to begin with, and I hadn't said a thing about it.))

((FYI: There is no such thing as an ideal insulator, or something with infinite resistance. There's a very good reason the chains were vibrating to create friction and heat. When heat is applied to an insulator, it becomes a conductor. Do think about why I take the time to write things out.))

((If you want me to grab Moo (I'm guessing that's the person who appears as the owner of this guild), I will. Just remember I gave you the chance to get IV away from my character several times.))

I'm locking this thread and reading through the entire fight with another mod. We'll put a judgment up later. For now, though--match suspended.
