"I don't do what I do because I want recognition-"
***"Well.. You make me feel better when you're around. Honestly, I was somewhat glad you came to see me; I needed something to cheer me up, dear."*
Crazy mother fucker.
Still though-the words were remembered, as everything Arian heard was remembered-but these went in a 'things to feel almost nice about' folder.
It's what she thought about while she watched this blonde lady, fawning over Vince like he was just...God or something. It was kind of disgusting, the way the woman acted, actually. Disgusting, and annoying.
Of course, she had no idea the woman had just saved her from a talk about 'feelings'. ((xDDDDDDDDD))
Awkwardness be damned.
Arian watched the blonde, her eyes on her back-and then Vince demanded in an agitated-but slightly amused tone.
Arian's vibrantly colored gaze was piercing now, as if she was looking through the blonde, to her heart-and seeking to attack it somehow.
Yet she still remained silent.
The blonde was oblivious to Arian's gaze-cooing over the half dragon in human form. "Ooh, I came to SEE you, sweetheart!" Arian's expression had changed to one of mild disbelief-and disgust, her full lips lifting at one corner not in a half smile-but as if she had smelled something foul.
Of course-the woman wore rose scented perfume, all sensual and...stuff. Whatever the hell perfume was for. Smelling nice. And sexy.
"You were so hurt when the fight was over-that mean old half vamp thing-you were a hero, MY hero, and I just had to come check on yo-URK!" The yelp/squeak interrupted her gushing words of flattery-and her odd primping of Vince and his bed sheets-leaning over him at various locations before coming back to adjust his little unused IV pump, then the railing, then his sword-then his pillows, then his sheet-EVERYWHERE!
Until the book struck her squarely in the back of her head, jerking her forward, hat tumbling off and onto Vince's lap.
She seemed annoyed. Her blonde hair had tumbled forward off her shoulders, bouncy curls slightly in her face-as she straightened, shoving them back-and turning sharply back to Arian.
Arian didn't pretend like it wasn't her. Actually-her eyes were burning into the Blonde's pale ones, narrowed in silent warning-before the smaller of the two moved forward, intending to bend-calm as day-to pick up her book.
Funny enough-the two women seemed to be at odds with each other without speaking. "Did you...throw a book at me?" The Blonde asked, reaching back blindly for her pill cap-touching God only knew what-and then placing it back on her head, tipping it forward.
"Yep." Arian uttered simply, short and to the point-venomous. It was startling, how much anger, fire, and WARNING she could fit into one simple word, one little utterance. Startling-and kind of scary. Her eyes never left the Blonde's as she came to a stop just in front of her book, now on the floor, open.
"Might I ask WHY?" The Blonde demanded, stomping her foot, Arian having bent down to pick up her book-but the vibrant blues flicked to the corner of her rounded, almond shaped eyes-full of fire.
She straightened, dusting her book off, still having said nothing.
She placed it neatly on the edge of the small bedside table. She hadn't looked at Vince once. Just the Blonde.
"...hmph! Why are you carrying that around anyway? You can't speak English hardly, let alone read." And she turned once more to Vince-or halfway did.
Arian's face didn't change-but her eyes did. They suddenly blazed into life, that inner fire becoming flat out RAGE- making fun of her English was stupid. Making fun of her intelligence was even worse. She could read and write Seven languages, and was learning, absorbing more all the time. She could speak four of those languages. She could, if she chose to-speak without her accent, albeit slowly.
This woman was thinking Arian was like other Courtelli natives. That she was kept ignorant by her government. The fool. She hadn't lived on her native island since she was eight years old-she was a completely different animal-and this bitch was about to realize it.
"It's a book on chess." Arian spoke in flawless English, no accent, no fluctuation at all-her tone and speech odd, not as pleasant as her accented words. The Blonde blinked, attention rerutning-and that's about when Arian's right heel came crashing into the woman's mid section, Arian's back to Vince as she cut back violently with her right leg, performing the kick while keeping on the toes of her left cloth boot.
Fuck this shit.
The Blonde hit the bed rail and bounced off-Arian pulling her calf in, knee bending-only to kick the Blonde AGAIN with the toned and powerful leg, this time dead in the side-knocking her to the floor on her hip.
Arian stood on both feet again, her brief kicking boxing like attack ended-except it wasn't. She advanced. You knew she was going to.**
"I do what I do because they've been wronged, and I want to make it right."
