The opponent had quite the arsenal. Logic, instinct, enhanced response times and quite the arsenal to pack the appropriate fight-ending bite, the truth was: Omi Barsait of Round IV was merely idly taunting his opponent earlier when questioning the enemy's resolve. The truth is, just by getting this far, one had to have an adequate portion of logic, skill, will to survive, and luck; there were no exceptions however ludicrous to some it may appear at times. All this time, the foe bounding from the western edge was a justifiable opponent that the serpentine manipulation artist could accept surpassing him to move onward, if someone had to.
However.
Playing back the scenario, one would need to get their metaphorical ducks in a row. Sometimes, an attack of such great magnitude and last instant desperation would be so breathtaking, it wounds the soul when discovered there was a fallacy in it - but, wishful thinking does not influence factual events. And the facts were laid bare. Omi was already rotating in a clockwise fashion, the central point of this circular rotation being dead center - so a good object to use for this explanation would be his spine. The right side was being launched back just as the left was veering forward, in a clockwise fashion. In short, he was shifting to his left predominantly, or south. This made the reinforced "rocket punch" hit and more plausibly land in plush, as it did.
The earlier mentioned flow of water, ironically utilized to render Omi to the ground moments ago, was supporting this. It was also flowing him leftward. Though his strike was bound to the right and managed a portion of the impact it could have had - his body in whole would be dramatically heading stage left, southward. Furthermore, due to being taken off his feet in the "rocketing" motions of his right then left blows, he wasn't even 100% standing straight - to lurch back on the right side and spin about as he did, cemented this.
Secondly, Omi's left fist when striking, was reinforced by the blow of his left "Teeth of Ignus" gauntlet. Assuredly tungsten proof, like his mesh - albeit designed a deal more streamlined and woven with small cords mid-knuckle to make it not clunky for a nimble hand such as his. Furthermore, striking tip-first, it would not be the best source of conductivity at all; not at all a good source to travel into Omi's body, with the gauntlets stretching to past his wrists and tightly at that. Vash had with his ability, [Lightning Encasement], nor was the right. And yet, the ability's 6' radius reach would surely ensnare him mid-strike, flooding the man's vision with white hell.
You could say that left fist was Omi & Vash's gateway to a terrible fight.. for it and the earlier mentioned Encasement were two signs of the oncoming apocalypse. The price of great actions are that a single errant mistake can ruin their equally great intentions, unfortunately. Furthermore, with 15 mA reinforcing those many thousands of volts from the aforementioned "Surge" and the sheer fact they had so little contact time, they were indeed attacks designed not to kill but to incapacitate. 15 mA, or 0.015 amps, was hardly in the lethal range of reinforcement; it required 0.100 amps with direct contact just to stop the human heart, on average. Furthermore, the encasement held even less amperage at a 14 mA; the voltage was horrid, but the amperage was manageable. Expected though, for non-lethal use.
Indeed, the serpents, the flames.. they were gone. Where those two thin cuts had been, two circular, thin but significantly wider wounds replaced them at 6" diameter each - blood flowing down his pale skin gradually like a tide. Getting struck dead on in the face and then having all that charge seek ground through his body, even with the weak enforcement, had the corners of his mouth and some of his gum flesh bleeding between the lines of those white, white teeth. To top it, the left "Teeth of Ignus" looked to be shattering into little fragments all over the man's slightly shaking left hand, pieces fluttering to the sandy soil below. Aftermath of the fierce blow.
4' away from where the two clashed [4' northwest from his original location], Omi laid in the sand. His mesh and the sand below acted as ground for all of that arrant charge screaming through his body- all that wild hair on end, his gut and face steaming red. Likely the moisture stuck to his flesh evaporating - more important however, was his chaotic muscles and their wild spasms, one after the next. It looked most terrible.
And yet..
"**Impressive.**"
No longer so deep and masculine was his voice, but rather softer, more gentle, more reserved, "weaker" only in the sense that it wasn't howling out wildly. Lurching up onto his sprawled-out legs shakily, one could tell his body wasn't all too certain about getting up - it wasn't a conventional injury a man could relate to juts by having a shattered bone or a flayed bit of flesh. His entire nervous system was uncertain of just how to react. Neither of his legs, fine in structure though they were, wanted to respond.. for that matter, his arms were acting sluggish; no, more accurately, his entire body felt like molasses if not for the occasional pain and more importantly.. the shock.
Where the volts and the amperage failed to kill, often times it was the shock that would end a man's life. Omi could theoretically stand up no worse for ware on a structural standpoint, yet.. his mind was in fact throbbing. His eyes, now wrenched shut so he'd crush consciousness into the man's soul, shook uncertainly as to the fate of all conscious thought. He was a man whom had been struck with a live current fiercer than the most fierce of tides..
".. But. Too weak~!" Forcing his vocal cords to do their job despite their pained protest, Omi's pupils would hone in onto Vash a ways ahead. It was obvious to him that was entirely untrue, and yet that voice sounded so sure of itself.. well, mind-games can get you farther than a powerful punch, after all. Deciding not to stand, instead letting the extra charge flood out of him as a pain shook his forehead like a hot iron - Omi carried on with such a forced grin possible, blood oozing between his teeth clashing so vividly, it looked more like he was eating flesh than bleeding from his own!
"Weak Vash, terribly-" Right hand wiggling those fingertips of its own through the sand like a child, very thin serpents trudged from their tips and fluttered into some of the spreading water - no doubt, Vash would attempt to utilize what was sprung to go on the rebound, but now that Omi was aware of the great tide's existence.. he could desire nothing more: "TERRIBLY WEAK!!"
It was so damn disturbing even to himself that he had just barely escaped becoming a half-dead corpse, or that he had narrowly escaped what others would've no doubt faltered in the face of - and was now sitting down on the ground, grinning like it was all hilarious despite his jaw groaning silently. A total riot. Yet, that was how Omi Barsait operated..
He was not a semi-finalist in the GTB Round I, a man so close to becoming king in the GTB Round II, and a man who almost single-handedly carried his team to the semi-finals of the supposed "Dark" Tournament - just because his trademark ability was potent. Nor was he all of these things and where he was now, solely because he was lucky. Fortune played a hand in it, assuredly. He'd been a fool not to see that.
But what got him this far, and what just now brought him to sitting on the sand staring at Vash like a malicious Cheshire Cat, was that his will and curiosity forced him to continue looking for holes. Always, until he was unconscious or dead, would he poke and prod the battle for a gap in his opponent's offense, an opening in his opponent's defense- and against their wishes, these cracks he would drive wide open. Where others saw impossibility, he only saw a riddle that needed broken wide open to yield the suitable reward. Nothing worth having is easy, after all.
Perhaps, however, it would be Vash that would send Omi home after two others had failed to perform the task. Perhaps.
But as his smile grew even wider, clearly taunting the wounded fighter far ahead.. it was clear Omi was a gateway to Vash's desired victory that wouldn't yield lest it was forced. To that end, Vash had two options. Succeed with his every effort and walk towards Round V a far superior fighter..
.. or be a step for Omi Barsait's opportunity to do the very same. Mind over battered matter!
