While the knight took his practice swings at the defenseless ground, the crowd's attention shifted towards the southern entrance, highly anticipating the arrival of the combatant that would be fighting against the heavily-armored knight. Of course, their demands would be met and in a short time the one that was only known as 'Ninja' entered the large circular arena. Immediately upon his entrance the crowds gave a mixed response of both cheers and jeers, which showed the man must have had at least some infamy among the crowd.
Puffing a half-finished menthol cigarette, Ninja's face showed a stern expression as he examined the fighting arena, the fans, and finally his opponent. As if by pure chance alone, his opponent happened to be knight, Or, at least, that's what he could derive from the sword-and-shield combo and the gleaming suit of armor. Also, an oddity didn't escape Ninja's gaze. The man's sword was a claymore, an extremely heavy weapon that usually required two hands. Since his opponent only needed one, Ninja then figured the towering man must have possessed super-strength at some degree. The Asian's face slowly curled into a pleased smirk as he began a slow pace towards the ring.
Unlike his opponent, Ninja himself was rather under-dressed for a fighting tournament. The man went bare-chested, and only wore a pair of pitch-black leather motorcycling pants (complete with knee-pads for high-speed protection), polished dark leather shoes, large sunglasses, and finally a black and gold G-Shock watch strapped to his wrist. His body sported a multitude of tattoos, including a torso-encompassing dragon tattoo and several tribal markings.
After only a few moments, the slow walker eventually reached the ring. Showing off his finesse, Ninja chose to simply jump the 4 feet up to the arena. While this might seem simple, jumping vertically 4 feet with no running start was an impressive feat for any athlete, let alone fighter. Ninja figured it was a way to show-off his maneuverability. Now that the man was in the ring, he was instantly ready for action. The man gave no hesitation to draw his pristine steel katana, which, when drawn, gave a gleam in the sunlight. At this notion, the crowd went wild as the awaited for the battle to start. Ninja came within about 5 feet from his opponent, far enough where he was out of striking range but close enough where his opponent would be able to hear Ninja taunt him.
"Ready to get your ass kicked?" Ninja asked in an aggressive manner, ignoring any and all formalities to insult his foe. After he finished his quip, the man spat out the smoldering cigarette butt as it hit the circular arena, catching wind and slowly rolling away. He was ready for battle.
