Barsait had a very strange code of conduct, this was true. But typically, an opponent of his had to understand that they weren't merely going head to head with a warrior's axe. No. Once they were within a hundred yards of this man, they had already entered a vicious mode of combat where anything and everything was his weapon.
Their desires. Their beliefs. Their surroundings.
His weapons.
There had been a fair bit of distance between Heita and Omi to start, 10 feet. Not much but, to get within striking distance, you had to cover that, standing to reason. So, what if all this time.. Barsait's heinous laughter, which hadn't stopped even a little - "HAH, HAHHAHAHA" - wasn't some sense robbing force of doom for the crimson fighter?
Yes.. his eyes, with tears in them from laughter.. closer one neared the more it showed. His eyelids were open, if only a little bit. The entire time, they had been boring into Heita. Watching.
His hands crossed over his waist as though to contain himself from shaking uncontrollably with mocking laughter.. was actually just a convenient way of crossing them at all, meaning both of his wry hands were within grabbing distance of the handles of his weaponry.

> (Left Hand Weapon / Mace) [Void Block] > > Another weapon from times passed, this is a take on the medieval ages Bar Mace. Has a dark brown leather wrapped handle, a four-bladed cross shaped shaft, and the metal core + shaft are all steel alloyed tungsten material. It's a solid piece of metal with a smooth round pommel. There are no sharp points or edges on this weapon, it is raw, blunt mass. > > The cross-shaped "blade" section, four right-angled grooves marking it, is a very menacing though simplistic design. This weapon is heavy, and try as the maker might to make it easier to handle in one hand, is clearly optimized for two-handed use. The reason is, heavy enough in one's hands, this weapon's weight is further exemplified the farther away from one's body you wield it; walking forward holding it in two hands, pointing the top end towards an opponent would make it considerably harder to wield than just pointing it towards the sky aligned vertically with the wielder's own body. > > When wielding this and the [Scales of Ignus], this weapon becomes a defensive primer. Omi uses it to block oncoming assaults, which this weapon's durability, malleability, and length lend well to -- preferring to make gradual and compact movements of it so as to not lead himself too off balance while making use of his dagger. The offensive use of this doesn't come into play in this setup very often, merely because one-handed, it's [very] unwieldy and is a testament of Barsait's resolve to even make it feasible. > > Sheathing the dagger, once Omi wields this two-handed, the situation changes something dramatically. There's little finesse to this weapon, it operates not unlike a baseball bat; swing horizontally or overhand, you'll likely deal devastating damage. The Bar Mace this holds its core to was designed for smashing armored opponents straight to the ground, because the momentum one gets with this weapon is truly frightening. Once wielding it two-handed and putting your body into it, this is the definitive weapon for making an opponent's efforts of trying to block with their flimsy sword a foolish tactical maneuver. This is because full swing, it commonly shattered enemy blades on the battlefield in its time, littering fragments onto the ground of even stout weaponry. What it lacks in lethal intent, it makes up for with raw force. > > [Statistics]: > > Grip & Pommel to Hand-guard Length: 10" > "Blade" / Cross-Bar Dimensions: 20" x 2" x 3/16" > Total Length: 30" > Weight: 4.97 lbs > "Blade" Width: 1 1/4" at base, 2" at end > Balance Point: 6 1/2" > > [Notes]: > > If you don't like getting clubbed, stick clear of this weapon. It crushed enemy helmets, bashed opponents standing in full armor to the floor, and broke their weaponry when it was in proper use -- that Omi deviates from its original purpose at times doesn't change what it is wholly capable of. In fact, the most menacing use was sending an enemy reeling to the ground, then drawing a side-arm.. like a dagger. > > In defensive use, it's not going to budge very easily though in exchange it won't be a very fluid defense, and although you needn't worry about it sending your character a few feet away on the ground with a concussion when it's being wielded one-handed, that does not mean Omi can't give you a good bash across the head if you're not careful -- do not undermine its placement or you may regret it. It's not optimized for one-handed use, that does not mean it's impossible for one-handed use or even uncommon. It'll just be slow and have very wide swings compared to a typical one-handed weapon. > > When not wielding this weapon, it is hung at Omi's right side belt by the intersection of the grip & pommel - though very possible to wrestle it off his belt, it is not a weapon you can just grab and go with. Take caution of its weight at all times, it will heavily influence both how to get around it to get to Omi's vitals, and how your character fares against its mighty blows.
His left hand had swiftly, in one rapid motion, diagonally drawn the bar mace out of its protective strap-- Heita had thrown a punch of great power. Unfortunate that he chose such a straightforward way of delivering it, to an area central on Barsait's body no less. The dark and horrific weapon, the [Void Block] would eat the drilling shock of that shotgun punch, not Omi's body. Though the weapon would crash backwards against Omi's chest with a loud clang of metals, a testament to Heita's strength.. this was not punishing..
In that same moment, his breath stiffled -and there, Omi looked down at his opponent grimly, the laughter disappearing instantly. A facade. No doubt, that wasn't even his true voice. He had played the fool to goad Heita closer in case the man was a threat. It worked. And now he was in the "snake's" grasp.
Heita would never get the opportunity to leave it.
Omi's right hand, crossed over to his left hip, did not draw a terrifying weapon there as well. No.. instead, it brushed a smooth, metal sphere. Weighty. No doubt large enough to break bone if tossed with a good pitcher's arm but, not his intention. Instead, the orb dropped to the ground...

> (Smoke Bomb) [Exsanguination Bomb] > Only one use per fight. > > Barsait's horrific trump card. Hanging against the back of his belt's draw beneath that vibrant red coat, it takes the appearance of a small, dark gray metal sphere with a red button lodged 1.5" beneath the surface level of the rest of the object. Digging Omi's thumb tip into it then casting it onto the floor, it erupts open, foul mist dumping into the air rapidly and omnidirectional. > > This mist will take up a 20 foot diameter with wherever the bomb began to emit its smoke as its center, rising [and if applicable] descending the same number of feet as well. For [3 posts], this area will remain filled with the crimson mist, of which a number of interesting mechanics will come into play. > > Mechanic [1]: All of Omi's snakes will be completely invisible to the naked eye within these mists. The snake's color and this mist's own are one and the same; they will literally be indiscernible. This does not just affect the opponent, but Omi too -- relying on guiding his serpents by vision and careful manipulation, he will not be able to see the snakes either. > > Mechanic [2]: When a snake lights aflame, it will be even more visible than normal to both parties, the embers appearing a vibrant mixture of yellow and crimson red in this field. > > Mechanic [3]: Assuming an opponent is at one edge of the field, at less than 5' distance, objects besides the serpents will be entirely normal in vision, not obscured at all. At 5' distance, detail will distort, relying more on color contrast against the field of red - and of course, anything red will be harder to make out, including Omi in his regular attire. At 10' distance, all one will be able to make out is a dark shadowy outline. At 20' distance (if both fighters were on opposing sides of this field), there will be no sight at all, and where the enemy is in relation to oneself would be purely a guessing game.. unless one walked around the field, or through it to find out. > > Mechanic [4]: Omi has no manner of visionary advantage in the field. His [Eyes of Ignus] and their heat seeking function cannot find the snakes, as until they're in flames, they hold no heat -- meanwhile, his [Knavish Eye] ability is rendered entirely useless while in or looking at the field, as all he would be able to see is a wave of red with no contrast or detail. > > Mechanic [5]: Assuming an opponent could yield an object or essence literally the exact same hue, shade, etc. as Omi's snakes (likely through supernatural means), that too would appear invisible to both parties while within the field. Furthermore, a strong gale (therefore, powerful wind generators of some type) could part this field, although only in 1/4ths (effectively 5' diameter) of the field at a time. > > [Notes]: > > This turns the fight into one of situational awareness. Omi will attempt to launch a snake at an opponent, that opponent'll move.. and now they're playing a guessing game of death. Or maybe Omi'll deploy this and then start moving backwards to make a ranged opponent's life hell for a few while buying himself time. Vice-versa, maybe this will be used as a gap closer. > > It nulls parts of Omi's kit, and makes him have to constantly second-guess his own actions, but in exchange -- it rewards expecting the unexpected and grants potentially fight changing results to either side.
Perhaps, before the red smoke rapidly devoured the entire area, Heita would catch a glimpse of the white space around those brown eyes of Barsait's -- red lines strewn all over. This was no joke and Heita was not facing a jester to tell one.
In front of him was a man ready to play executioner.
