BARTON CENTER

In the heart of Barton itself, combatants face off against one another on the brick road around the Memorial Fountain. The outer grounds of the area are blocked off by a railing to bring the fight right in the faces of the spectators while providing ample space for the fighters.

Fighting Area - 50ft diameter with fountain in center and crowd around the sides.

Terrain

General - Audience form a ring around the area, limiting area of effect attacks

Weapons - None

Natural Element Resource - None, Minor Water

Bonus Effects - None

2Ho Shin

A man pushed his way through the crowd of spectators that had gathered around the Barton Center arena. When he came to the railing, he gripped the metal and heaved himself up and over it, stepping onto the brick. He walked torwards the center, noticing no one else. Not his teammates, not his opponents.

Releasing a large sigh as he sat on the edge of the fountain, he adjusted his headband slightly and then crossed his arms in wait. There was a little noise from the crowds that could be heard.

"....hey, who's that guy?"

"I think thats Shin, the guy from White Wolf...."

He closed his eyes and snorted. Indeed it was Shin from Team White wolf. He shifted his head to the side and cracked his neck.

...This should be interesting...

3Ho Shin

He watched the two men and their entrance. First coming was Halycanos. In a way, this entrance was less than spectacular, and Shin managed a small grin accross his face. He had opened his eyes when he heard the commotion, and therefore noted his arrival.

"....Halycanos...no need to apologise, your here and thats what matters."

His voice was calm, with a slight upbeat attitude.

"As for the others...."

His speech was cut short as Tenma stepped through from the wall of spectators that had gathered. Upon his approach, he nodded to him in answer and spoke to both of them.

"It would seem as if our opponents have yet to show up, we will wait for them and see how things turn out."

He stood from his seat and turned to run his hand through the water of the fountain. Shin brought his hand up in front of his eyes to look at the moisture. When he lowered his hand and flicked the water from it, he also turned his head to the side and glanced at his two teammates.

"Make sure your prepared for the battle ahead, get your gear in order and run through strategy's in your head. Team Player one is in this tournament and our opponent for this match, they won't be so easy...."

And with that he sat down on the bricked ground and shuffled through his equitment to make sure he had everything he needed.

His attired wasn't heavily armored...as he believed in speed more than defensive. After all, why stand still when you could simply move out of the way. He doned a dark red muscle shirt, as well as dark red pants to match. He wore black shoes and had a headband upon his head. His gloves were meant to withstand the cutting of the Tetsugen...a special material. On the backs of the gloves, were plates of metal, made more for defensive than offense. The bottoms of his shoes had a similar mettalic plate.

His weapon that was noticable was the sword lying horizontally accorss the back portion of his belt, with the hilt on the left side. As for unnoticable weaponry, well...he had his Tetsugen. The tetsugen, special as it was, allowed his to not only create up to ten (one for each finger), but allowed his to decide if the Tetsugen was its usual razor sharp nature, or if instead only the head of it was razor sharp. This meant that not only could the Tetsugen be a combat weapon, but it also served as a way for him to hook on to objects and pull them torward him, or wrap around them and manuver his body.

The Tetsugen however, would lie in secret, until he revealed it.

4[ Just Another Face ]

Shin wasn't alone for long, though, when a bus from Latent to Barton hisses in. As to be expected, a whole fleet of spectators came in on this bus, but they sure as hell weren't alone. No, they had a regular celebrity with them. Or he would be soon enough. So, once jumping out of the bus, this man walked down to the luggage and just asked the attendant, "Can I have the garbage bag to the left there?"

And the garbage bag was throw to him. Reaching into the bag, he snatched out two swords, a rapier which was hooked to his left hip, and a longsword hooked to his right. There was also a rather bulky pair of red gauntlets, which found their home snug on his fists. Without a moment to spare, Halycanos bolted down the street from this bus stop to the Barton Center, where he saw a very large crowd. Running right up, he figured they'd give him a path.

"Watch where you're going!"

No such luck. He was met with a shoulder to shoulder human wall. With no way through, and a lacking ability to fly, Halycanos had one option. Crawl.

...

"Miss, Polkadot is not really good for you..."

KICK! Halycanos is sent sailing with a kick to the a**, right into the ring where he lands with a loud thud. His legs were left open and his hands were behind him. His very first sight? Shin. "Heya, bossman. Sorry for the delay. My busdriver needed a stop, yasee, and it put us nearly an hour behind."

Standing to brush himself off, Halycanos walked in a relaxed pace over to Shin and the fountain. "...Where's everybody?"

5Tenma Keigou

The crowd had grown greatly, and He wasn't one for crowds.

Politely as he could he attempted to wade through the throngs of people with no avail.

"excuse me, sorry, excuse me"

his apologies stopped abruptly as he lost his patience and shouldered through, it wasn't easy but a good shove into the spine of someone in front tended to get him somewhere, he continued ignoring the curses of people he pushed until he jumped the rail and stood in the arena, making his way over to shin he nodded

"now to wait I assume?"

6[ Just Another Face ]

Halycanos nodded to them both as Shin made his miniature announcement. It was really one of caution and warning. He found this entirely overzealous. There wasn't much need for caution. As a matter of fact, Halycanos was more than confidant in his ability. And Player One would be just the thing to prove that to everyone.

"Yeah. I just need to keep an eye over my weapons."

And that was just what he did. He drew out first a wicked looking rapier with a super-hard plastic cover over only the edges, to kill their cutting power. The plastic did not, however, hinder any powers they have. No, instead, it turned then from slash and cuts weapons to bash and ram weapons. Resheathing the rapier onto his left hip, he reached to his right shoulder and leaned forward, cutting out. The air actually seemed to chill a little at this cut. This longsword with wings was called Blessed. Swinging it around once, he slid it right back into the sheath. He did not seem so fond of the chilly weapon.

Once they were both gone, Halycanos reached his hand into his s**t to bring out a pendant. A demon ruby and blacksteel. Two not-too common materials put together, shining gently in the afternoon sun. Halycanos wanted to make sure his pendant got to soak up the rays as much as possible.

Lastly, with all things done and out of the way, Halycanos looked to his gauntlets and outstretched his arms, making a quick flare of heat. A nice fiery display, and he was off. There was nothing more to do now than to sit in wait. "...And in sets the boredom, boys."

7Tenma Keigou

He nodded and moved the 2 half disks of metal in his sash, one in the front of his sash the roudned end facing upwards and the other in the back of his sash in the same position.

He knew his weapons, he favored Kunai and his own sword, both were good weapons and about the only thing he needed. He adjusted his mask, reaching behind his head and tightening the band holding it one so it would not slide around on his face.

and then he sat, waiting, much as halycanos had said boredom was about to set in.

8ragingtofu

Showboating. That'd be the best word for what Rage was doing as he entered the square. Either his blade was very sturdy, or his head was, considering the way he was treating his katana at the moment. Scratching his cherished blade along the ground, flipping it through the air, spinning around and generally just acting a fool, Rage had no intention of losing the battle that laid ahead for him.

Finally throwing his katana high into the air, he clasped it's scheathe to his back and let it slide perfectly into place with a satisfying click. Standing perfectly straight for the first time since he had arrived, he took a quick look at the other people who had showed up. "So... this is it, huh..." he said with a yawn, shedding his three katana and bomber jacket. "Well, not too bad. This should be a fun one." His expression became more of a grin, his brown eyes sparkling as he pushed his emerald hair out of the way.

He started with his first katana, the one he had been using recklessly earlier. It gleamed in the sun as he withdrew it, looking as if it had never been used before. He adjusted some of the cloth on the hilt, trying to get that powerful grip he was looking for. Satisfied with it, he slid it back into it's proper place. For now, he wouldn't bother with the two at his right hip - those would come later, if necessary. Cracking his knuckles, he took particular care on loosening up his left shoulder and everything down his left arm - it seemed he was a lefty.

"So... when do we get around to cracking skulls?" he said far louder than he needed to, and clearly knew he was doing it. "It's been two minutes and I'm already bored."

9opaj

"Soon, I hope," Tetsudo muttered, abruptly approaching from the throngs of onlookers. He crossed his arms over his chest.

"Well, that's two of us..." Looking around, he caught sight of the other team. "Looks like that's all of them. Where's that woman?"

((Lame post- caused by Gaia overload. smilies/icon_sweatdrop.gif ))

10[ Just Another Face ]

Halycanos almost got to relax when he heard the skittering and screeching of steel on brick. "What the ******?" He asked quite bluntly, standing up on the fountain to see the approach of the snot haired competetor with a katana. He seemed really quite stupid to do that to a weapon that was about to keep him alive. Once he got into the ring, of course, He made his cocky little declaration. Halycanos was just about to answer when he heard the boom of a second voice and spun back around to see this... blob, this fridge, this veritable mass of human ugliness. "...What the ****** is that thing?!"

11Tenma Keigou

He sat looking at the man that had come in on a blade nearly laughing at him.

"to treat a blade like that? I would be surprised if he knows more than how to abuse it"

he said nearly laughing, it was a joke few would get, maybe shin would but well, tenma wasn't looking to be a comedian.

12Mangoagogo

At the moment that opaj mentioned her, the Cat Lady walked into the courtyard, her seven cats trailing obediently behind her. She looked wide-eyed at the fountain as she passed by it. When she reached opaj, she gave him a large, toothless grin and, in a girl-like fashion, jumped up in the air before landing on her but, cross-legged, on the pavement. Her cats gathered around her, some crawling in her lap, some upon her head, and some on her shoulder. She sat, flashing her big dopey toothless grin at everybody, as she waited for the action to commence.

13ragingtofu

Pausing in his leg stretches, Rage stood up straight again and pushed on his back a little before pulling off his left headphone and placed it behind his ear. Looking at his opponents he said with a slight laugh, "Oh... sorry, guys. Did you say something? I'm affraid I hear so much BS every day I just kinda tune it out." Smiling warmly, he went back to loosening up. Funny how everyone assumes they know everything about you in a passing glance, he thought, still grinning widely. After all the other stuff he'd been through recently, a good fight like was just what he needed. He just hoped his opponent wouldn't disappoint.

14[ Just Another Face ]

Gripping his fists, Halycanos looked between the three enemies. The tub of lard, a sword surfing punk, and a crazy cat lady with no teeth. This was definitely the crowd. "What the hell kinda circus is this?"

so, yeah, right. This isn't a big post, really, just mentioning that Halycanos is really quite surprised at the fact that his opponents are freaks.

15opaj

"So, let's get this underway, huh?" Tetsudo said, who apparently had turned into a tub of lard at some point (???). Looking first at the cat lady, then to Rage, he asked, "Who goes first?"

((Seriously, though... where did you get 'tub of lard'? smilies/icon_neutral.gif ))

16[ Just Another Face ]

((Somehow, I imagine he might be fat to some degree, given the wt/ht you gave. Sorry if I pictured him wrong.))

Halycanos turned to his team mates, then to his oppenents. "..."

((I just realized I can't decide much without my team. I'm the peon... Damn. Well, Op, if you're ready now, I guess we can start?))

17Ho Shin

((Yo, just dropping by to clear up some stuff as the captain. Opaj, if you don't mind who fights who and in what order.... Than how does this work out for you? Ted (your dude) vs Halycanos (Griff). Y'all can fight first if you wish. After that I think Tenma wants to go up against Rage if you have no objections to it...and me, well I guess I'll take the girl... in an order yet to be decided))

18Ho Shin

Shin turned to Halycanos upon his inquisitive exspression.

"You go ahead Halycanos...If this guy has no objections, then you can fight him"

He spoke has he was pointing to Ted.

((Short post...just stating the specifics))

19[ Just Another Face ]

Halycanos stood tall when Shin called his name, and he instantly stepped closer to the front line when Shin made his suggestion. "I'd be happy to take my turn first." His gauntlets flaired for a split second to show their owner's anticipation.

20Tenma Keigou

He moved back and kneeled out of the way of the fight ready to move if he had to.

"good luck with this"

he said quietly not meaning for anyone to hear, he didn't want them to think thier team needed luck to win a tournament, but it always helped.

21ragingtofu

Responding to Tetsudo, Rage said "I think they want you to go first," after a lazy yawn. "But if you don't want to, I'll step up to the plate. Either way this should be awfully fun." He flashed another smile (he seemed to be doing that a lot), bearing a sharp left canine tooth - the faux fang that some people developed in their lifetimes. Not really waiting for Tetsudo's response, Rage snapped his headphones back into place and found some space to do shadowboxing... if one could call it such. It looked a little too haphazard to be an actual fighting style.

22Ho Shin

((Eh...whenever you get back on Opaj...whenever that may be...I suggest, given our time remaining to battle and such, that we instead pit your team against mine at the same time...with each individual taking their own opponent. The only catch to this however is that we woulden't need to use 'strikers' given the fact we are all fighting at the same time. Sound good to you? That is if you get on...))

23opaj

((And... I have been away doing RL things. smilies/icon_sweatdrop.gif

So... how about we do two fights simultaneously, and hold one person in reserve as a striker? Ted vs. Griff, and Rage vs. Tenma. Sound good?))

Tetsudo, standing seven-feet-tall and muscle-bound, grinned dumbly at Halcyone. "Why don't we both go first?" he responded to Rage. "I'll take the guy with the gauntlets, you can beat up whoever." He bent his neck to one side, his vertebrae cracking loudly.

He stepped forward, his right hand gripping the wrecking-ball baton at his side: made entirely out of steel, it was a tonfa with spherical weight (about six inches in diameter) at the far end. Unlatching it from his side, he gave it a few experimental twirls before unlatching its twin with his left hand.

"You ready to go?"

24Kraun

LAME!

Well, since nothing actually happened until now, I'm adding a 2-3 day extension on the time limit for this fight because it'd be retarded to put the future of the teams in the hands of a single fight, which would probably only last 8 posts or so on either side if everyone is present.

So, extension added. Plus, the judges have to do the pointing anyways for all the other finished fights.

25Ho Shin

((:sigh: Somehow I knew this was going to happen... Normally we would not have enough time for something to happen, but since Kraun gave the exstension, it may be possible. Go ahead and get Rage online then. I am not sure if the rest of my team are online or not at this moment, but it is a good chance the will be on later in the day. We could always wait for them to get on, but I am always on. So thats something to keep in mind. :shrugs:))

26opaj

((We officially withdraw. I was really struggling with this, mainly because I feel extremely lame for eating up a team slot, but honestly... joining a competition scheduled to start a few days after BC ended was a seriously bad choice, considering that the core of my team played major roles in BC. Having spent the majority of my holidays on Gaia, I really don't want to finish it here... and having spoken with the other two main members, I find that they are of the same mind.

So, so very sorry to waste your time and the team spot. We demand no refund, because we did eat up that team slot. Sorry to suck so bad.))

27Kraun

((Well, so much for that...

White Wolf advances by default.))

28[ Just Another Face ]

((S'cool, Opaj. If you ever read this, know this much, I still want to fight Ted, dammit!))

29Ryugi Kazamaru

((Look out White Wolf!! Weez be comin ta getcha!! smilies/icon_xd.gif ))

30Ho Shin

((Ha okay Ryu. opaj, its cool. We all were hoping to fight your team though, maybe we can all get together outside the tournament and fight or something. Anyway, enough OOC here. :heads off and waits for the other fights to finish and for the people to send him a FIGHTER update:))

31opaj

((Ah, that would be cool. I think Rage would be interested in getting together for a fight sometime, too... just after we've had more time to recoup. smilies/icon_gonk.gif ))

32Ryugi Kazamaru

What a beautiful place this was. It wasn't the most beautiful thing ever seen, but it was still a pleasant sight. The Barton Town Center was full of life this morning. However, there was one small difference. Around the fountain, markers had been placed to form an odd fifty foot diameter ring of sorts, and people of all kinds had gathered around to watch the up coming fight. All around, the buildings of Barton surrounded the fighting area, and onlookers bunched up close against the markers eager to see the fights that were to come.

Discussions buzzed around the area about which teams were looking good.

"Did you hear about the brutality at the end of Team Glacier's match?" A young woman of about twenty turned and asked a portly and small fellow who replied.

"I heard that a reporter was questioning that Vahn fellow and he beat him into submision. Poor man, he's in the hospital now with a neck brace and several missing teeth!"

Another young woman spoke up. "I don't care about Glacier, I think the judges called poorly on Blazestar. They were CLEARLY the better team."

The portly fellow turned to the woman who had spoke. "How can you say that? They clearly used unneeded force to dismember one of the fighters. Besides, that Vahn can't be all bad with a reputation like his."

"You're all crazy in yo heads. Black in Action is gonna tear em up good in the cage match. In fact, I don't know why I'm here, lookin at this dump of a fight when I'm missin The Champion lay down his Smackdown on dat Nightraid. Now dat'll be a fight worth watchin!" A young man dressed in a thick hoodie and baggy pants spoke near the back of the bunch.

"Nightraid can't be counted out. They're good on teamwork, and that gives em points in my book. And what about Team White Wolf? No one's seen them fight yet. They could be real powerhouses just waiting for a chance to show themselves. And those ladies of the Femmes Fatales sure seem like they're ready to defend themselves." A middle aged man spoke after hearing the conversation going. "I don't think I could really call any of the matches."

"But what about these teams here? Does anyone know whats up with them?" The twenty something woman spoke again, to no one in particular.

The portly man pulled out an information pamphlet for the tournament and skimmed through it for a bit. "It says here that the fight is supposed to be between Team Ryugin, and Team Old Skool. I haven't really heard of any of these fighters before. Although, I DID catch a bit of Ryugin's last fight on the quick recap last night. Apparently their fight was cut short before it could end, and from what I saw of that sword wielding fellow, he had quite a bit of power. Their Captain didn't even get to fight in his match, however it says here that he's a tallented spearman. Thats something thats rare these days. Their last main fighter is a bit of an enigma, no one really knows what he's capable of. So, this promises to be interesting at best, which means I'm staying."

The conversation kept going around and around, more chatting of Glacier and Black in Action, the two flagship teams of the tournament, however, two other pairs of ears and eyes were listening and looking around for information and a glimpse of the teams. One was male and dressed in black from head to toe, the other was female and dressed in a long sleeve blue shirt and black pants.

Oh... I sure hope we get to see him soon... I haven't seen him since he left with Silver for their first fight, and I've only seen him on the tv screens in the Stadium. Do you think he'll be happy to see us?

I'm sure he'll be thrilled.

It was none other than Vargus and Ryudo, come from Leviathan Stadium and Latent to see Ryugin's second fight in person. Vargus was as cheerful as she always was, hoping to see her beloved. She missed him quite a bit, and Ryudo wasn't much of a talker anyway. He never had been the type to speak of emotions, and always seemed somewhat annoyed or grumpy, at least that was Vargus' take on the whole situation. She and Ryudo stood at the front of the crowd, waiting for Ryugi to make his appearance...

33Ryugi Kazamaru

The pair wouldn't have to wait long as a spikey silver haired man with a sword strapped to his back made his way through the crowd of onlookers. The sun was still rising in the sky as it was not noon yet, and still morning, however the man looked like a million dollars. His black clothing, thick boots, dark red gloves, and brilliant white scarf looked crisp and clean in the morning light. His silver hair shone brightly with the morning rays, looking its best. His kind, yet striking, red eyes seemed to glow with an inner energy of peace and warmth as he looked about the ring of spectators and finally came to rest on the edge of the fountain, taking a breath of the crisp morning air, and taking a glance at the fountain. It was then he heard a voice shout out above the cries from the crowd and the murmur of the spectators.

RYUGI!! RYUUUUUUUGIIIIIII!!! Over here!!

Vargus was waving madly and jumping up and down giggling happily. Ryugi looked over at her and then smiled brightly, waving happily with his right hand and arm. He then stopped and blew her a kiss, giving a quick nod to Ryudo who huffed in return with a slight nod and an almost inperceptible grin. Ryugi then turned away from his two biggest fans, happy as can be. He knew he had support from them, and his teammates. Win or lose, he'd try his best in this fight. Even the money didn't matter to him, that was just an added bonus.

Well, now there isn't much left to do but wait for Silver and Cris to get here, but knowing Cris' last performance, he's probably here by now and we just can't see him.

Ryugi grinned a bit at his thoughts, but he quickly moved on, thinking of the fight ahead, and the cheering spectators all around him. Hopefully they wouldn't be dissapointed.

34Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi sat on the edge of the fountain and waited.

Man, where the heck is Silver? He said he'd be here. How could he forget he was fighting first?

Ryugi wasn't really upset, more confused as to why his friend, and team captain, was not yet in the ring at least.

35Kraun

The bustling crowd around the fountain, held back by a small steel fence which only stood a meter high. Cameras, spectators, paramedics, they were all here. And mixed within the noisy crowd which was around the area were the judges, each one dressed in a mask and cloak.

One was a boar, whose grotesque mask looked squished and sprouted two tusks, its cloak a bristling mess of wirey hairs.

One was a fish, whose cloak was made of mirror-like scales which reflecterd everything, its mask dominated by large round eyes on its sides.

One was a demon, whose mask was a horned grinning skull and whose cloak was pitch black.

36Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi raised an eyebrow at the sight of the judges. Apparently they found intimidation a powerful friend while judging some of these fights. It could be understood, however, since not everyone was so obeidient to authority as Ryugi was. This fight would prove to be interesting, at least because of the odd attire of the rule makers.

37Michael Noire

A rather ordinary man, dressed head to tabi in white linen & silk, enters the crowded grounds noticing small trickles of blood with a dim glance from previous scenes of violence. The flowing nature of the white hakama alludes silently to something other worldly, despite the otherwise complete and total lack of presence or aura radiating from his countenance.

38Ryugi Kazamaru

A strange presence shot through Ryugi's mind. It wasn't anything worrying, it was simply...strange...unique even. He looked up to see the man dressed in white, and a small grin crossed his features. Not a grin of malice or ill intent, but one of happiness and calm. It was a warm look.

Ryugi then stood and faced the man as he entered with his white robes moving softly. Ryugi detected no outward aura from this man, but he did detect something he couldn't place his finger on. Never before in all Ryugi's life had he felt such a strange sensation coming from a person before. Thinking for a moment, he then spoke calmly with a voice of peace and a hint of curiosity.

You must be one of the fighters from the other team. Team Old Skool I believe it was. I'm Ryugi Kazamaru, the second member of Team Ryugin. I'm pleased to make your aquaintance Mr...?

He waited, hopefully for a responce from the strange and intriguing man.

39User 367130

A 5'6" dark figure made his way to the Barton Center Fountain. Music was blasting through his new headphones. The fanboyism, the arguments, the crowds... all unheard as he made his way through them. If people recognized him, he wouldn't notice.

The man was dressed in black and silver from head to toe, with his silver sword pendant and Y-Pod around his neck. His black brestplate was etched with silver runes and embroidered with an impressive Silver Dragon. He wore his FIGHTER on his left arm, and on his right was an armband with the runes of the Ryugin. His long silver hair draped down to his midback. His bright emerald green eyes pierced through the crowd. This was none other than Silver Moonblade, Captain of the Silver Dragons.

What might matter more to the spectators and the other team was his weapon, Dragoonair. The spear had intricate carvings of what looked like Scales down the sides of its shaft. At the edge of the spear was what looked to be the head of a silver dragon, which "breathed" the leap shape blade of the weapon. There were two glowing rubies for eyes, by the paled in comparison to the ones at the bottom of the spear. All in all, the spear was 6ft in legnth, plus a 1ft long blade.

He casually entered the fountain area, approching Ryugi. He spoke louder than usual due to the fact he had music blasting through his ears.

"You have to get one of these Y-Pods. These things are great."

40Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi took a break from the white clad man, who seemed like he was a tad busy at the moment, in order to talk to Silver. Who, as usual, had arrived in a rather odd fashion. His teammates just seemed to get weirder and weirder, not that this was a problem however, since Ryugi had his quirks too.

I don't have a need for such odd little things. If you wish to drown out the natural beauty of the world with your music, then feel free to do so, I just prefer things a little more natural.

He smiled at his friend. Now all they needed was for Cris to show. Where was he?

41User 367130

"What did you say?"

He grabbed the cord of his customized heaphones and turned down the volume. He could hear the crowd perfectly now. It was amazing how loud they could be, and even more so that he's not deaf after having the music up so damn loud. He rarely listened to music or used technology in general, but he saw someone with a Y-Pod and it interested him. But battle was not the place to drown out his opponents sounds with music.

"Sorry I'm late."

42Cristopher Reinhart

As luck would have it the Silver Dragons just made it past their first set of matches. Though they were rather boring, lame, and in no way entertaining they'd made it through. The stage was set for the second round and it had been long before everyone knew where the curtains would rise. It was Barton Center, complete with audience, lights, cameras, and the hustle of the Barton itself. Maybe luck would intervene allowing them to make it past this round and proceed. The next couple of hours would determine the fate of both the teams now assembling here.

Around the small steel fence people shoved, rubbed, squeezed, their way as close as possible to the action. Though it was sure to be broadcast all around the Barton there was no substitute for the real thing. Unfortunately the crowd was what stood between Reinhart and the soon to be battlefield. This was bothersome as he had no intention of pushing his way through. A small sigh escaped him before he turned in the opposite direction and began to walk.

Ryugi and Silver had been displayed on the huge screens all around the stage showing they were one member short. It was the third and final member of the Silver Dragons, Reinhart. Now as they stood some feet away from the center fountain it wouldn't be hard to see some of the water leaking over the edge. It began in a small single drop line, and then grew into a small stream before the one whole side seemed to leak out water over its edge. This water made its way towards Ryugi and Silver until it was only a couple of feet away.

It began making a normal size puddle before the water began spiraling upwards and taking shape. It shaped boots first, then legs, a torso; it stretched to the sides to form arms, a neck and finally a head. Then the leak over the fountain ceased as stray bits of water trailed to make their way to the seemingly full water figure. Once all the water was collected it took its solid form and if his teammates hadn't figured it out already, it was Reinhart.

Now he stood not two feet away from his partners of the Heaven or Hell tournament. As usual he gave them both a look before stepping past them and onto what would be their side of the center. Only saying the simplest thing........

"Ready...."

His back rested against the fence as he looked across the brick and water waiting for the opponents to arrive.

43Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi could only grin at his friend as he removed the device from around his ears. He then turned his attention to the watery forming form behind him. Withanother grin, he chuckled a bit and then spoke.

Another showy entrance Reinhart? Ah well, at least you're here.

He then looked around the arena, at he crowd gathered around the team and the fountain, towards the cheering fans, the lights and cameras of the tv crews, and the faces of his friends and family. He almost felt like a celebrity.

Anyone else feel a little crowded with all the people around?

44Michael Noire

Near the entrance of the Arena area, the obscure asiatic american returns from an unknown vendor deftly wielding a twenty ounce french vanilla soda. With subtle fellare, he works passionately upon the alabaster bottle emasculating gratuitously any former sign of virility erotically esconcing himself upon the scene.

"Every silent word of patience is twice vexed by ineptitude."

45Ryugi Kazamaru

Now that all of team Ryugin was here, all there was left to do was to wait. Hopefully the rest of the opposing team would show up. And hopefully they'd be able to FINISH all their fights this time. But there was nothing Ryugi could do other than sit and wait at this point, and so, he did.

46Gelmax

A random piece of trash, possibly a random candy wrapper or some such random thing, randomly bursts into random flames. These random flames randomly grow randomly bigger (but at a slow and steady and controlled pace) until they are about five feet tall, at which point they vanish to reveal a little red-haired female child.

((EDITED FOR THEME))

47Oblivionic

"Fighter coming through! Make way!"

Oblivionic struggles to make his way through the crowd. Apparently he hasn't earned anyone's respect... yet. After a few more shoves and shuffles, he finally makes it to the circle's edge, around the fountain. He steps past the barrier, and makes his way to the fountain to meet up with a little red haired girl, already standing there, and an average looking man.

"...I guess this makes three..."

Oblivionic casually speaks, awaiting the rules to be set down. He pulls out a letter from the pocket of his loose, black, and tattered pants. It's from Doji, and informs him of the location, as well as the opponents that the members of 'Team Old Skool' are to face: Team Ryugi(n?). His face hides behind a thin, steel face mask; painted mostly black, with a white flame design rising up to the nose, originating from the bottom of the mask. Its shape simple: only two eye holes, and formed to his nose, but otherwise flat with an angled curve to better fit his face. He raises to his face, his forearms to inspect the durable white cloth wrapped around, and up to the knuckles. He puts them back down, satisfied. He does the same with his feet; looking down as he lifts and turns his ankles to inspect the wrappings on both, one after another. Also satisfied with those, he crosses his arms across his tight, black, tattered t-shirt. Surprisingly, it holds together quite well on his moderately muscular chest; and appears only tattered, not aged. The wild, mid-length, black hair flows softly with the wind, his bangs flowing over the front of the mask slightly, and off to the sides. Blue eyes of an ethereal flame look back to the crowd that cheers to the fight to be, and Oblivionic waits...

48Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi counted. One, two, three... Apparently these three individuals were to be his team's opponents. He DID have to wonder about the girl though, however he'd seen many unusual things in his life, and a small girl who apparently was talented with flames was just another thing to add to his list. He then waited for Team Captain Silver to hand out matches.

49Cthulhu Wish

There was infact quite a large crowd beginning to take their places within the stands with quite a bit of chatter and intensity. Everyone was exicted, or if they weren't they must had been there to observe the team for tactic purposes. From the main arena ground, there were certain one individual that stood out like a sore thumb.

A pair of long white rabbit ears and red hair, who could possibly guess on who that could be? Well, for those who didn't know it was the young Madison from Leviathan Stadium, she had been seated beside a rather perky girl and a dark figure with long silver hair. She didn't seem very exicted like the two she was occumpanied with, but more so tired and in thought as her crimson red eyes gazed at the arena.

With a sigh she stood up a bit and stretched triedly, it had been quite awhile since she witness a fight and she was ready to see what was going to happen. She was well aware of the fighter Ryugi Kazamaru and his sidekick Silver Moonblade, but their third member of their team was a new face for her, a man by the name of Cristopher Reinhart. She only wish that he was as determined as her two friends.

50Ryugi Kazamaru

Vargus smiled at the little rabbit girl.

Are you as excited as I am about their fight?

51Cthulhu Wish

Ryugi Kazamaru Wrote:

Vargus smiled at the little rabbit girl.

Are you as excited as I am about their fight?

Madi quickly looked over and smiled brightly with a nod. Of course she was, it was the most exicting thing since sliced bread! Well....not quite, but it was still very exicting. She still didn't speak for there was someone that was still frightening her. Ryudo Kazamaru, she was absolutely terrified of him. The two have had a few disagreements before one resulted in her glasses being broken. But she simply remained quiet and solemn as the tension in the arena built.

Her feet began to fidget a bit as they waited, hitting the ground softly in a rhythmic pattern that a dancer could even groove to. She smiled shyly at the floor as she countinued to watch her feet move about the floor.

52Ryugi Kazamaru

Vargus smiled and patted Madi's head, almost motherly. She could feel the rabbit's fear since feelings were almost as easy for her to read as it was for Ryudo to read energy levels. She then turned to Ryudo and smacked him in the arm, to which he responed with a jump...

Ouch! What the hell was that for?

He looked angry, and a little betrayed as Vargus spoke.

Try not to look so damn grumpy!! You're scaring the little one!! And would it KILL you to emote every now and then?! I SWEAR, you're just like a statue! Cold, hard, and show little emotion, not to mention gothic...

Vargus was usually calm, cool, gentle, and loving, but when she got mad, she had quite a temper, and a knack for getting right to the point of things. Ryudo looked back towards his brother's girlfriend looking just a tad hurt, and still, grumpy.

Just because I don't ooze emotions or feelings doesn't mean I don't have them, and for the last time, I'M NOT GOTHIC!!

Finally, some emotion. Anger is a good place to start, just work on some others and everything will turn out fine.

...

With an annoyed glare, Ryudo turned back to his brother, and Vargus was her normal sweet self again. If Madi was still paying attention, this would be an odd sight.

53Cthulhu Wish

Now there was only a few things that Madi did within these few secounds. Stare at Vargus with her eyebrow raised as she snapped to her temperment, and was shortly fallowed by nearly falling out of her chair when Ryudo respounded with his temper. Her ears quickly covered her delicate face as she was afraid that he may wind up and break her precious glasses again, but Madi never really knew much. She was after all, just a rabbit.

As Vargus returned to her normal self Madison remained covered up, her theory was logical, for a five year old atleast. If she can't see them, they can't see her. If they can't see her, she was safe from getting mauled. Slowly she raised one of her ears to look and see if Ryudo had behaved, her framed red eye gazed about shyly, looking at the scene around her.

54Ryugi Kazamaru

Vargus kneeled beside her and cuddled her softly. She almost felt like a mother comforting a child when dealing with the little rabbit girl. She didn't mind though. Vargus was even more kind hearted than Ryugi, or at least more open about it, and she was even more gentle. She was capable of fighting, but preferred to heal with her earth and wind abilities.

There there little one... It's ok. You don't need to be scared of him. I'm here for you.

Her violet eyes were soft and kind, just like her words.

55Cthulhu Wish

Her ears finally parted to reveal her face once more, she seemed as though she was young infant playing peek-a-boo, but not. Madi was much too old for those kind of games, she was after all 18. Well for the technical part she was actually 536 years of age within rabbit years, so in human years she would be 18. Yet, since her body ages more quickly do to the rabbit blood in her she would truely actually be 16.

"...Alright..."

ALAS! Madi had finally spoken! They were quiet and meek but still she wasn't a dumb as she seemed. Her feet countinued to bounce about against the floor quietly, now for those who may have a bad temper. This would indeed drive one up the wall for the pattern was the same, there was nothing different. The same and annoying pattern over and over again.

56Ryugi Kazamaru

Vargus smiled again and patted the rabbit girl's head.

Alright then, so no more hiding ok? It's a shame to hide your cute face.

Ryudo just ignored the tapping. He was good at blocking out things he didn't want to bug him.

57Cthulhu Wish

Madison simply smiled, she was finally talking! She hadn't said a word since she was left in their company, all she knew was that they were both very important to Ryugi. She had met both of them once or twice, but that was about it. Madison looked over to Ryudo and looked at him with her big red eyes, she wasn't sure why he was so quiet but she simply smiled. Only alittle of course, Madi was attempting to keep her teeth hidden, she wasn't at all proud of her mouth, she always found they were hideous. Her large white buck teeth, but what could you do, she was a rabbit after all.

"So...What is Ryugi and Silver's Strategy...Do they have one?" asked Madi shyly once more with her timid voice. Sh finally quit tapping her foot and looked over at Ryudo once again, she was tempted to poke him....very tempted....

58Ryugi Kazamaru

Vargus shrugged. She didn't really know. Niether of them had told her anything about strategy. Infact, she hadn't seen them since they left for their first match.

I don't know what they have in mind. But whatever it is, it's bound to be good.

She had faith in both of their fighting abilities, as well as in Chris. She'd spoken with him before, and had felt he was a strong fighter then. That hadn't changed, so she was sure the team would do well against these new foes.

59Cthulhu Wish

The young bunny nodded as she countinued to look at Ryudo's sleeve, it was a perfect target. Possibly simply one poke and that was all she was going to do. Slowly she raised her black gloved hand and had it inches away from his arm.

A childlike grin formed on her face as she lightly poked his arm. She wasn't sure if he felt it for it was a simple tap, not enough to even nudge someone. But then again, this was Ryudo, she wasn't exactly sure about this character.

60Ryugi Kazamaru

The only response she got from the solid face of Ryudo was a look out of the corner of his eye. His face was still steely and unchanging, but nothing threatening about it. He then went back to watching the two teams. When was the fight to start?

61Cthulhu Wish

She nervously laughed and gazed back at the ring sulking in her seat. It was true that she still feared him but not as much, she really figured that all the man needed was a hug...a nice warm hug and lovings. But she of course wasn't the one who was going to do it.

62Cristopher Reinhart

These matches needed to get under way, Reinhart was last on the line up so the sooner they started the better. Relaxed as he was with his back pressed against the fence he couldn't help but be overcome with slight boredom. Much like usual his head was tucked in a downward angle hiding his chin, mouth, and part of his nose under his scarf. He wore no hat today so whatever part of his face was visible it was only so through his locks of red hair.

It wasn't hard to see his badaged right eye for the white color of it contrasted his dark red hair. The same went for his ice blue eye, though it scanned the center for lack of anything better to do. Still his elbows rested on the fence though he brought a hand up to push more hair over the right side of his face. It was more than obvious he was trying to hide his bandaged eye to anyone who may've been paying attention. But he knew it wasn't an odd sight to see someone with bandaged body parts in this tournament.

Especially as lots of fighters were bound to get hurt, after all this was a fighting tournament. Unknown to most of the spectators if not all he'd had his eye bandaged every morning. The reason? Only he knew of course, though he hoped he wouldn't have to show anyone his reason. His arm came back down and rested on the fence once again, his eye now fixed on the fountain in the center.

((sorry! I had family crap to deal with yesterday. smilies/icon_sweatdrop.gif I'll make this short.))

Silver Moonblade grinned as the last of Old Skool entered the area. He had been anticipating this fight since their last match was cut short due to time limit. He walked forward into the center of the arena. He spoke, turning towards what appeared to be the teams captain.

"I assume you are Noire. I'll make this quick so we can hurry on with the match. Unless you have any disagreements, I propose this fighting order.

I'll take the girl. She seems interesting enough.

Cris will take on you, Noire.

Which would leave Ryugi to that other gentlemen."

((I know I already sent you a pm with the proposed orders, but I made a recap regardless.))

64Michael Noire

//Forfiet? No, not forfiet. Well then. lets begin. Much like the sudden "you have three hours to report" This is your three hour notice. Incedentally, as the campus is playing loud rap music, I automatically absolve myself of responsibility of any concept of higher diction.//

65Michael Noire

"Cris it is then." the stranger clad in white steps forward, his position similar to warrior 2:

moving into an inner spiral to his own center his palm raising up 3 hands, falling 5, raising 8, falling 2, and twisting inward into forward horizontal Iron palm

toward the bridge of Reinhart's nose.

66Oblivionic

Oblivionic turns his head to watch the start of the fight between Reinhart and Noire. He shouts to Noire:

"Hey! Are these fights simultaneous, like the last one?!?"

His head then turns to the one that will be his to battle: Ryugi. It was easy to figure out: 'Silver is the leader; and he named off Reinhart to fight Noire; therefore, the last man is Ryugi'. He thinks further to himself, 'I wonder why Silver, their team captain, didn't want to fight ours...'. Either way, he drops his hands down to his sides, and turns his body to face Ryugi completely. Should Noire or Silver give the word, he'll attack. He takes careful note of the sword Ryugi bears, and considers his primary armor for this one. Oblivionic waits...

67Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi turned and spoke to Silver.

If it's all the same to you Silver, I suggest we all just start our fights as soon as we can. We don't have alot of time left in our match...

He then looked towards his opponent, and notices his apparent intrest in his sword... He'd have to be careful. He then rolled into a fighting stance. One...

Let us get started, Sir.

((1/17))

68Oblivionic

"Hmph... very well, Ryugi..."

Oblivionic falls into his stance as well. His left leg moves back, but doesn't widen his stance any. He brings his right hand up, palm flat and facing upwards. The forearm is bent slightly, as it rests almost straight out. His left arm, he brings into himself, the palm open like the other and raised just under his rib cage. He leans back in this stance, seeming to await for Ryugi to make the first move. His eyes flare momentarily with the anticipation of Ryugi's first strike.

((1))

69Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi grins with a slight nod, and decides to start things off with relative ease. He charges towards his opponent, glowing white for a moment mid charge before aiming a punch straight towards his opponent from about five feet away, letting his momentum carry him foreward.

((2/17))

70Oblivionic

Oblivionic lets the punch approach closer. At the last .25 sec, he quickly forces his right palm to his left to intercept the fist. The hand will contact mid-forearm, and push the arm from it's current trajectory. At the same time, he pivots off of his left foot, and swings his left leg back. So, his body rotates counter-clockwise (bird's eye view) on his right foot, whilst Ryugin's momentum further propels him. He brings his leg up in this motion, and continues into a low roundhouse kick. By the time the heel would be halfway to hitting Ryugi's lower back, Oblivionic will have let go of his forearm, and brought his right arm back into himself.

((2))

71Cristopher Reinhart

Reinhart cocked an eyebrow in short confusion watching Noire come to him. Pushing himself off the fence he distanced himself from it and closed in on Noire. Noire then struck, or rather tried to strike Reinhart's nose with a palm. It wasn't hard to determine he'd be fighting first, though it seemed he was being forced. Nothing to do now but fight.

As Noire struck Reinhart stepped quickly to his right and out of the Iron Palms way. In a sense he was somewhat trying to circle Noire. While he did this he brought his right hand up and out towards Noire's ribs. It wasn't in a fist which was surprising to many no doubt but instead his index and middle fingers were out in a sort of "hook". His pinky and ring finger were held down with his thumb. Was he trying to poke Noire? Yes, he was, right between his second and thrid rib to be exact.

What was the reason for this? It was simple really, a technique Reinhart had learned from his travels. If it connected it would hurt tremendously do to it's point of impact, the ribs weren't really covered too well woth muscles after all. Aside from that with the practice Reinhart had with such a technique he was able to make dents in wood. Noire would definitely feel it if it hit. With his left hand he guarded though it was also in the same manner as his right now was. Index, middle finger out and the rest tucked in.There was also one more thing to this attack but it would only be known if the attack connected...

(1/17)

72Gelmax

Well, it looks like Jikabuita has an opponent now. It also looks like she's going to have to start the fight. She surveys the area slowly, shining eyes taking in every detail as she concentrates and steels her mind, bringing her power to bear. Slowly, brimming with power, she stoops to the ground, placing her palm on the stone ground...before closing her fist around a small rock. She then quickly stands and chucks it at Silver Moonblade's face.

((1))

73Michael Noire

Unfortunatley for Reinhart, like the many JET ninjas of the ancient east, his over sized clothing and waifish body simply lacks the bulk that Reinhart reaches for, striking silken folds while a contortionist motion of a capoeira 10 o clock cartwheel handstand helicopter kick elucidates the absense of connecting to ribs..

74Ryugi Kazamaru

Oblivionic Wrote:

Oblivionic lets the punch approach closer. At the last .25 sec, he quickly forces his right palm to his left to... But the attack would never happen. If time could be slowed, this is what one would see. First, as Ob's fist moved to try and make contact with Ryugi's punch, a bubble-like barrier would appear. The barrier would look almost EXACTLY like a bubble, greens, blues, reds, all reflected in the semidistorted image of Ryugi, but this image wouldn't last for more than about three or four milliseconds.

Within the next few milliseconds the barrier would condense into the area where Ob's fist would have struck the invisible barrier. It would then fire outward at a speed of nearly fifty feet per second, aimed directly at the unsuspecting fighter. The blast would collide with Ob with enough force to send him up and away about ten feet vertically, and about thirty feet back, more than enough to clear the ring of spectators and leave him outside the ring.

The heat from the blast would burn as if someone had dropped a bunch of boiling water down Ob's chest, but nothing life threatening. The burn would continue to feel like a bad sunburn, and stick with the fighter for the rest of the fight... The whole attack took no less than 1/4 of a second, since Ryugi didn't need to control it. Aurora Field was indeed one of his most useful attacks...

Ryugi would then prepare for his next few turns of attacks.

((3/17 - I'm really sorry, but my Internet crashed on me. I would have posted sooner, but it just cam back online.))

75Oblivionic

Oblivionic attempted to perform the back roundhouse; but instead is blasted up and away. As soon the blast begins to force him away, tentacles of a plant-like material burst from his spinal column. They wrap around him; spread like fungus in a rapid manner; then converge together; and finally condense into a 'skin', much like an armor. His 'bio-booster armor' as he calls it, is equipped with ocular spheres on the back of his head; two sonic blades on each of the forearms; a respirator; as well as a gravity orb, located on his waist, and imbedded in the skin. This all happens before he reachs the outside of the ring. The moment the armor completes itself, Oblivionic activates the grav orb to intensify the gravity around him 3 fold. It brings him down, just in front of the barrier. The impact breaks, and dusts some of the bricks below him, creating a crater only 6 inches deep. He lands in a kneeling position with his left knee down, and his right fist into the ground. He raises his head, having released his increase in gravity, and stares straight at Ryugi.

"heh.... good one..."

He stands straight, and the blades on his forearms extend to their full length. The sound reverberates the metallic clang, as if sprung out, yet the sound remains: a low hum. The 'burns' that should be present, cease to matter as his armor is who he becomes, and who he once was. He begins a slow walk towards Ryugi.

"My turn..."

Ryugi only grinned at his opponent. This match was going to be tougher than he'd originally predicted. Armor eh? That would cause his opponent to slow down a bit, but it would offer quite a bit of protection from punches, but Ryugi wasn't going to give up.

He rolled into a fighting stance once more with a nod to acknowledge his opponent's comment. One...

Nice armor you've got there...

((4/17))

77Oblivionic

Oblivionic reduces his gravity down to .5 normal, negating any ill effects the weight of the armor would have on him; and actually speeding him up. He rushes towards Ryugi in an all-out sprint. By the time he should reach his opponent, he will be running at 30 mph.

((4))

78Ryugi Kazamaru

Two... Something his opponent might want to know. Less gravity equals less overall friction, which means less overall maneuverability at high speeds, and it also made it MUCH harder to slow down.

As his opponent rushed towards him, Ryugi quickly drew his sword Ragnarok, and in a single graceful movement drew the weapons and spun it around in a beautiful diagonal vertical arc, aimed directly for his opponent's torso. The sword's diagonal cut served to almost completely cover his opponent's advance by cutting from about his lower thigh, all the way to his shoulder.

Ragnarok was four and a half feet long, and six and a half inches wide at it's greatest point, providing a large ammount of clearance between Ryugi and his opponent. The charging opponent would have practically NO time to react to the speedy sword slice...but how was Ryugi able to wield such a heavy weapon?

Ryugi was already planning for his attack's miss, if it occoured...

((5/17))

79Oblivionic

Oblivionic's eyes catch the movement of the sword, and he uses his grav orb to shoot himself upwards 30 ft. before the sword even moves to come down. His movement forward indeed stops completely, and even reverses direction. The reason: the orb also has the capability to propel him in any direction, though to a lesser degree than in relation to the earth's gravity that sends him up. He releases the armor around him, and the momentum brings him up another ten feet as it withers away back into his spinal column. As his descent begins, he summons to himself his other armor. A blinding flash of white light. It fades to reveal the brilliant white metal of the White Inferno armor. It completes only 20 feet above Ryugi in his fall; and with the remaining time, he grabs hold of his respective sword hilts, and brings them out with one, quick motion. He aims to fall upon Ryugi with the swords downward, in a great stab manuveur, with both swords. The swords are legendary katanas with 3 ft. blades, and the steel is no doubt as near-indestructable as Ryugi's own.

EDIT: ((white inferno pic:

((5))

80Ryugi Kazamaru

Three... Ryugi's attack cleanly missed as his opponent jumped to avoid the slash, but he wasn't daft. What goes up, must eventually come down. The momentum of Ryugi's blade moved it up and behind him, and he continued the movement in order to bring his own, longer, sword into a vertical stab. The point aimed directly at his falling opponent.

If all went to plan, Ryugi's longer blade would outreach his opponent, and deliver a clean stab into his opponent's armor. The armor would no doubt remove much of his attack's force, but it should still be enough to stick into his opponent's stomach about three inches, the metal from his armor holding the blade within...

C'mon Ryugi...

((6/17))

81Oblivionic

Before they should meet, Oblivionic moves his sword tips past eachother, creating an X with their mid-blades. He moves his swords lower, to get underneath, or in front of, Ragnarok. As soon as he is sure of the trajectory, he moves to shove off of the blade. When they meet, the vertex of the X meets just in front of the blade tip of Ryugi's sword. He pushes hard, shoving Ryugi's blade back to himself, and over Oblivionic's left shoulder. He lands with a soft step, surprisingly, as he shifts his momentum forward. Ryugi's blade will slice into the shoulder piece of Oblivionic's armor, as Oblivionic jumps forward, and low. In this motion, he releases the X of his swords together; resulting in a double horizontal slash, aimed for Ryugi's thighs.

Oblivionic Wrote:

Ryugi noticed the change in his opponent's blades as they moved into an X. He had once used two blades before, and knew how efficient an X cut was at blocking an incoming attack. However, his opponent had misjudged Ryugi's abilities to improvise.

His opponent's weight was now in front of Ragnarok, giving Ryugi the perfect ammount of space to perform his nect attack. As his opponent connected with Ragnarok, ryugi stepped back and pushed the blade foreward, which would cause the mighty weapon to slam into the ground with all of it's weight and momentum amplified by Ryugi's pulling body, as well as gravity.

The armor would also most likely absorb much of the attack, but the move would serve to slam his opponent into the ground with force greater than that of what a normal human was capable of. If the move went as planned, his opponent would be pinned to the ground, and would most likely have a nasty headache from hitting the ground.

((7/10))

83Oblivionic

The white inferno armor does absorb most of the blow; however, Oblivionic does not fall over. Instead, his movement collides with the blade's, and the force pushes him down slightly, breaking more bricks beneath his feet. He quickly and forcefully pushes the blade off of his shoulder, and jumps back. He releases this armor as well. It disappears in a flash of white, the same way it was summoned in the first place.

"So... it has come to this..."

He stands approx. 15 ft. from Ryugi. It has begun; the charging of his mana about him. For now, it remains too little to physically manifest itself. Never-the-less, he stands there the same way he had by the fountain before the start of this match.

((1

7/17))

84Ryugi Kazamaru

Five... Ryugi's move once more hadn't done anything much more than leave a scratch on his opponent's armor. What the hell was that stuff made out of? No time for that now. He had to concentrate. And as he did so, he felt it. The energy flowing into his opponent. This made him cautious.

He sat Ragnarok across his shoulders, carefully watching his opponent, one arm laying at his side, the other gripping the weapon's handle...

((8/17))

85Oblivionic

Oblivionic merely stood there. His gathering had brought him into his second threshold. Waiting is good. Now it manifested itself into a purplish taint to the air around him. He watched Ryugi, as Ryugi watched him...

((2

86Ryugi Kazamaru

Six... Ryugi was done waiting. He could feel his opponent getting stronger. And that, he didn't need. He charged towards his opponent, sword still on his shoulder.

Dammit... I hate waiting games

((9/17))

87Oblivionic

Oblivionic awaits Ryugi's charge. He quickly hops to his right 7 ft. .5 a sec. before Ryugi would be able to swing his sword within range; moving to the shoulder side that did not bear Ragnarok, assuming Ryugi is right handed (you failed to specify). He just adds to the time he 'charges' as he continues his evasion.

((3

9/17))

88Ryugi Kazamaru

Seven... Ryugi saw the man move and turned his torso. His left hand had been waiting for this. He then unleashed a powerful compact fireball, moving at a rate of nearly fifty feet per second. The sword had been decieving, the hand was the real attacking force, and his opponent had fallen into the trap.

The fireball would explode apon contact with his opponent who was only about 5 feet away from Ryugi with his extended arm. At fifty feet per second, that left one tenth of a second for his opponent to react to the blow. The detonation would burn his opponent much like the light blast had earlier, and the force would be enough to send the man flying backwards a good three to five feet.

If his opponwnt even tried to move durring that time, Ryugi could EASILY move to adjust, but 1/10th of a second doesn't leave much time for moving anyway. And, if the blast missed, Ryugi could always detonate it himself to still throw the man off ballance. Ryugi then prepared for his next few attacks...

((10/17))

89Oblivionic

Oblivionic raised his right hand to meet the fireball. Within that tiny timeframe, he, too, uses a technique. Much of the energy he collected, rapidly moves to the area in front of his palm. It condenses and forms a miniature black hole, though completely controlled, and only one-sided. It's suction takes effect just as the fireball will strike his palm; and the ball and it's heat are 'sucked into the void'. It continues to pull on all in front of it. Behind Ryugi is the fountain, and all of the water moves into the hole in a spray of mist. The winds accelerate, and move to 350 MPH. Aware of the dangers to the audience, he angles it down, so that the only one to directly feel it's pull, is Ryugi. Of course, it's area of effect pulls loose trash towards it, but nobody is in any real danger. If Ryugi doesn't release a large amount of energy, he stands a good chance of being sucked in. Though Oblivionic would be DQed, Ryugi would no longer exist.

((10/17))

90Ryugi Kazamaru

((Getting a ruling for the above attack. Please hold.))

91Ryugi Kazamaru

Then Ryugi felt it. Something powerful and empty was coming. He'd only felt this energy once before in a fight with his brother, Ryudo, who, oddly enough, was watching said fight at this very moment. Ryugi had felt void energy before, and it was not something he enjoyed. But, before he'd countered it with a sufficient ammount of regular energy. So, he got to work as soon as he felt the energy pulse.

As the void opened up, Ryugi let out a powerful battle cry, and a brilliant white blast of energy erupted from his body towards the void. The heat from his blast forced the air around him to expand away, forming an odd sort of shield to the powerful winds that kicked up. There was no way Ryugi could know the safety of the people around him. This man had threatened those that he loved more than anything else in the world. His family.

Eight powerful turns of energy shot into the void, filling it up with bright white light. This would be more than enough power to release one of his special moves, nearly enough to release them twice in a row, and all this energy was being tossed into the void. Everyone he loved was at stake, and he wasn't willing to give up...

((11/17))

92Oblivionic

"Just the effect I was looking for..."

Oblivionic allowed the energy to overflow from his void. Rather than continue to feed it, he let it become overwhelmed. He then converted the last of his mana to form a barrier of void around himself, preventing the offshoot of Ryugi's energy from burning him. He actually moves closer to Ryugi by about 5 ft. before both of their energies run out. 'Now...' he thinks to himself. Without any further energy to negate his attacks, he brings this fight close-quarters. Oblivionic takes two quick steps towards Ryugi, and cocks his right arm back. On the third step, he brings his fist flying at Ryugi's face, dead center.

((11/17))

93Ryugi Kazamaru

And Ryugi would take the punch to the face, his head twisting back with the force as he turn it to one side. But, as he took the fist, Ryugi's right hand had grabbed his opponent's fist. He then applied a massive amount of pressure, easily enough to crush bone into fragmented pulp and severely bend meta enough to crush the bones benieth. His head then slowly turned back to his opponent, all bit of humanity gone out of Ryugi's eyes. They were now replaced with the eyes of a beast...

You'll pay for that...

Meryl sighed.

Her tardiness wasn't to be excused...but she was a part of the Silver Dragons team. Wasn't she? Apparently not, as Ryugi had failed to mention to her that the team were to fight in Barton today.

Now she hung up-side down from the edge of a roof, watching the three fight it out with another team from afar. Her battle-armour had been scrubbed so it would actually be reflective and gleaming this time. She'd made sure to do her hair properly and had even put on a little make-up. You have to look good when you pound some tool's face in. Especially in front of this kinda crowd.

But no. The hurried quest to be prim and prepared (thusly quashing the fact that she had been late) had fallen flat. She was late...and, apparently, real late.

She sighed again and tried not to pout, holding it back through pride. She was only a back-up...wasn't she? It wasn't like Ryugi was gonna pick her out. It wasn't like he trusted her or anything. Her last name seemed to carry a reputation that she flaunted and hated at the same time.

Well, who cared? Meryl didn't. It was only a stupid little tournament. Didn't matter that much. Not one ounce. Not one iota. Not one teeny...

Tiny...

Ah, who was she kidding?

She let the pout go...

...Before determination set in.

Stupid determination.

"Tdammi, ywh dshoul ythe tge lal eth nfu?" She muttered to herself as she watched the other woman on the other team pick up a rock.

Suddenly she pushed herself off the roofs-edge, rocketing over the crowd like a black cloak flitting through the air - to slam into Silver's side, her boot slashing out to kick the thrown rock into dust, rolling with Silver before coming to her feet, throwing her cloak around her and looking down to Silver with all the Tribal might her father had taught her.

Her cloak seemed to make her larger as she looked down to him, electrical sparks leaping from behind her sunglasses as she said one word, coming from a dark pit within her that little people knew existed.

"Leave!!" She growled as she looked over to the woman. "I'll handle this b***h."

((Due to absence, Meryl Tomorrow will be taking over for Silver. Thankyou! smilies/icon_blaugh.gif ))

95Oblivionic

As soon as Oblivionic's hand is grabbed, he immediately follows through with a head-butt. What time Ryugi had spent with wasted words, Oblivionic's metal face mask comes crashing into Ryugi's nose, with the forehead of the mask being the point of contact. At the same time, Oblivionic releases his most basic technique from his intercepted fist, a void wave, and disintegrates the glove material on Ryugi's palm. If Ryugi didn't let off of the pressure, he'd soon lose the skin on his hand also. Oblivionic follows through with another head-butt, right after the first, regardless of how Ryugi takes the first hit.

Ryugi could only grin. It was a nice try, but he underestimated his opponent once more. The void energy was anti-energy, something Ryugi dealt with when fighting Ryudo over the years durring different times. It was simply countered by Ryugi's own energy that was released from his gloves, canceling out the energy his opponent used.

Then came the headbutts. Ryugi was NOT that dense. He wouldn't dare talk in a fight and not be moving, would he? Shame on his opponent for thinking so single mindedly. Someone could easily speak and move at the same time, people do it on a daily basis, and Ryugi was no different. Two quick leans to each side made for easy dodges, and at the same time, Ryugi moved his left hand up, hidden from view since the man's head was so close. Could one see under their chin? Not a chance.

Ryugi's left hand came up and grasped the man's neck, hard, painfully hard. The spiked points on the end of his gloved fingers digging into the skin of his opponent's neck, easily capable of drawing blood, as well as choking the man. His right hand, after crushing his opponent's hand, then moved to the man's wrist, gripping it tightly...

((Vacuum, or 'Void' if you want to call it that, is like 'anti-energy' if you want a loose term for it. It absorbs and destroys, so you cant really absorb something which is doing the same thing, especially if it is 'anti-energy' to begin with. Kind of like, adding two negatives together, you still have a negative.

Unless its more along the lines of entropy, then its like, destruction into nothingness or soemthing... kind of like casting a disintegrate spell on his gloves. Shrugs))

98Ryugi Kazamaru

((Post edited to make sense. Thank you for that clarification.))

99Oblivionic

Oblivionic finds it very strange that this man could actually react to an instant release of his energy, as well as dodge two consecutive head-butts, of all things. Oblivionic realises he is down to his armor again. Therefore, out it bursts from his spine once more, and it again wraps around all upper portions of the appendages. It grows, and forces its ways underneath Ryugi's grip on his throat, and his hand. In about a second, it completes before Ryugi can finish crushing his hand. Ryugi will find it difficult to finish the task, though he still holds Oblivionic by the throat. Due to the positioning of Oblivionic's right arm, being across his chest, intercepted by Ryugi's right hand; the blades need only extend to force their way into Ryugi. They do, and they spring out in about 1/10 of a second after his armor completes, and extend their full length of 2 ft. Being mere inches away from Ryugi's mid-section, it'd be near impossible to counter this.

((OH NOEZ! TEH GUYVER III IS BACK!

13/17))

100Ryugi Kazamaru

Seeing his opponent's armor re-materialize, Ryugi lets go of his opponent and begins to move back and away. As luck would have it, his backwards movement is aided by his opponent's arm blades, which merely push him back and away farther.

Ryugi's Bio Wrote:

Over the white undershirt is a shirt of dragonsteel mail, that extends down to his waist and around his biceps, reinforced by woven dragonsteel threads sent in and out of the tiny mail loops, creating a sort of flexible armor with a thickness of about half an inch. The strands of dragonsteel are left to move about inside the mail in a fluid motion, making the armor thick, defensive, much lighter than regular plate mail, as well as much easier to maneuver in.

Ryugi then skidded to a halt about six feet away from his opponent, Ragnarok laying behind him about two feet away, protected by an aura. It was then that Ryugi's hair stood on end, and with a sickening skulch, he changed his shape as well in much a similar fashion as his opponent, however, this was no armor...

Ryugi's Bio Wrote:

By using the natural skill of a Golden Dragon, which allows them to alter their bodies, Ryugi changes his body into a human/dragon hybrid, giving him a 50% boost in all stats, and the ability to fly. Basic attacks include slashing claw attacks, quills being fired towards an opponent, and a basic flame breath created from two altered saliva glands in the back of the throat. Though the hybrid transformation is the base, it can be altered in other ways to give better protection to Ryugi throught the battle.

Ryugi's beastly eyes narrowed at his opponent as he watched him, an angry growl escaping his mouth, teeth bared and ready to strike as Ragnarok was gripped by his right claw...

((14/17))

101Oblivionic

"Ah... so this is the endgame..."

Oblivionic's words come out as he notices Ryugi's transformation. He's only done this once, but he knows it can work. He brings his arms down to his sides, and the blades retract, leaving only a few inches revealed. He thinks momentarily, and his primary armor begins to materialize around him. The white light that usually accompanies it's summoning is dull, as sparks shoot everywhere. It almost appears that the armor stretches to complete itself over the first one. It finishes, and has an enlarged appearance, having to form around the under-armor. The spikes that were on the first one, melded with the white inferno armor, giving it a more demonic appearance. So now Oblivionic stands ready, with the power of both armors at his disposable. He'll need them both to take on this monster of a man. The blades of the bio-armor extend slowly, the white inferno armor somehow 'knowing' of the arm blades, and making holes for them to go through. Oblivionic places his heavily armored hands upon the sword hilts in reverse manner: left hand on right, and vice versa. He pulls them both out quickly as he approaches Ryugi, holding the twin swords of fervor upright, and slightly out to his sides. Since summoning the the second armor, he activates his gravity orb again, to reduce his weight. Thus, he weighs the same as he does, without any armor on. Anticipating Ryugi's further use of his repulsion magic, he too begins charging anew. The mana once again thickening around him as it 'pools'.

Oblivionic's words come out as he notices Ryugi's transformation. He's only done this once, but he knows it can work... Two...Ryugi doesn't let him finish his transformation. His already decent speed stat has been boosted by nearly 50% and he charges towards his opponent in a near blurry flash of speed and power, using the combined power from his legs and a flap from his powerful wings, he screams forwards, closing the tiny six foot gap in nearly 1/4th of a second.

Then comes Ragnarok, spinning in with a powerful diagonal strike, the blade whirring with enough force to send his opponent screaming into the sky above the crowd. And more thn enough to crack that pathetic shell of armor around his opponent, especially since Ryugi's strength has been upgraded as well.

((15/17))

103Oblivionic

Ryugi doesn't have a choice in the matter of Oblivionic's summoning. Even as Ryugi charges towards him, a small burst from the grav orb, and Oblivionic moves out of range of the strike. His position is now further to Ryugi's left, and 9 ft. further back. He now stands a few inches in front of the small fence that seperates the crowd from the fountain area. They grab at his armor but quickly pull away, surprised by the heat it gives off. He quickly activates his grav orb, to bring himself straight up. His feet stay at 7 ft. above the ground. Ryugi's move, as Oblivionic levitates with swords ready, and mana collecting.

104Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi watches his attack miss, and slows down to a stop. He then turns his back to the crowd, his head still turned towards his opponent. He then backed up, towards the direction that was originally his right, his back now two feet away from the crowd. He then watched his opponent levitate into the air and stay there.

Ryugi then prepares for his next attack. If his opponent wanted to run off like a coward, then so be it. It didn't matter to Ryugi.

((16/17))

105Oblivionic

Oblivionic looks down upon his opponent, who stands slightly in front of him, but otherwise just below. He brings his right arm up, and turns the blade downwards. Just as quickly, he throws it like a dart at Ryugi's face, the blade tip aimed for his upper jaw, just beneath his nose. As soon as the blade leaves his hand the mana he had gathered thus far, collects in an instant just in front of his hand. It releases in the form of 150 spheres of void about 1/2 inch in diameter each, following just behind the sword hilt, and in a close-pattern the size of a shotgun blast (.5 ft. shot radius). Oblivionic uses this distraction to move just above Ryugi before the sword should hit. He then moves his remaining sword between his legs, blade downward and extending past his feet a foot, leaving Oblivionic hunched over, and for a good reason. When the last of the void spheres should make contact with Ryugi, Oblivionic reverses his grav orb. He comes crashing down upon Ryugi with force of 2000 lbs., blade first.

((16/17))

106Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi stood about ten feet away from his opponent since his opponent dashed away about nine feet to his left. Ryugi had then turned his back against the crowd, and faced his opponent, who was still roughly ten feet away and seven straight up. Ryugi then saw the man attack at him. the blasts of energy heading towards him, in front of them, was the man's blade.

Ryugi went quickly into action. He pushed off with his legs once more, his wings pumping him away from the man's attack, which was now headed towards the crowd. Ryugi prayed that no one was hurt by the man's move as a few of the void balls caught his wings, causing them to bleed. The blade had shot between Ryugi's wings, but the blasts had hit them.

Ryugi's speed would put him out of the man's range as he moved away, and jumped into the air, heading back towards the fountain, spinning around to move Ragnarok to block an incomming attack...

Oblivionic sheathes his right sword, and lowers himself to the ground quickly. He continues to collect his mana in preparation for Ryugi's attack.

Ryugi then had a realization. This fight wasn't going anywhere, and it wasn't going to end soon if it kept up. If it kept going, one of the fighters might end up dead, and in that, no one wins. Ferocious though the fight was, it was only a tournament of skill, not of death and destruction. So, Ryugi shouted.

HOLD IT!!!

Look, we've both fought long and hard for our respective teams, so, why don't we just end this in the most civilized way possible. No one wins when death is involved... So, how about we try and end this as fellow fighters, and not victims?

Ryugi then reverted back to his human form, and extended his right hand in...a friendly handshake, no sign of beast or anger in his features.

((17/17))

110Oblivionic

Oblivionic halts, upon hearing the first of Ryugi's words, and seeing his un-transformation. He stomps forward, uprooting a few bricks as he skids to a stop. He finishes listening the Ryugi, and ponders for a moment: 'Hm, he's somewhat right... besides, if he's lying, I'll know...' Thus, Oblivionic releases his white inferno armor in a blinding flash as it returns to it's place on the ethereal plane; and the bio-booster armor once again withers its way back into his spine. He steps forward cautiously and extends his right hand also, clasping Ryugi's and shaking.

"Yes... that was quite a fight..."

His flame-like eyes continue to blaze as he agrees to a draw for this round...

as Cris sinks in to do an abdomen strike, obviously knowing nothing about the phi proportions of human beings, Noire uses the second wind of the helicopter kick in a scissor kick ankle stroke directly to the victim's neck, in a twisting upward motion, the hit location infamous in acupuncture as the only obvious "one hit KO" section in the entire body which doesn't also require a second nerve bundle to actuate. The sadest part would be the origin of the kick, aligning itself directly through Cris' blind spot as he determindly aimed at an abdoment that was only at knee level and spaced leg length in distance from his own center..

114Cristopher Reinhart

Something was wrong and Reinhart knew it, he'd been kicked once but wasn't going to be kicked again. How fast was Noire? Logically speaking Reinhart had dove into the punch as he was hit and Noire couldn't have been but 2 to 3 feet away from him. Odd, next thing you know he'd feel 350 mph winds trying to suck him into nothingness. Sides it wasn't totally out of the question that anyone would notice another hit about to connect seeing as Noire shifted/moved/whatever.

Aside from that the kick had pushed Reinhart off a bit to his left as he was kicked to his right. This caused him to stumble slightly and knock his punch off course. Reinhart would use this push from Noire and stumble over as if diving to his left. As he did so he would use his right leg to kick Noire's hand/s and cause him to topple over. But Reinhart was kicking with full force more towards his bicep, shoulder area. Witht he force he's kicking with it wouldn't be surprising if he cuahgt Noire's head as well.

To simply sum it up he was diving to his left much like a Goalie in a soccer match and using his right leg to kick Noire. Not to mention this would move his head out of whatever the hell Noire was attempting to do. No reason to understand it, this was a fight after all not chess.

115Michael Noire

As Chris launches a long kick toward his hands, Noire chooses to push upwards on the target arm rolling 180 degrees directly on top of Reinhart, his center of gravity falling along the plane of Reinhart's knee cap.

Oddly, this made a healthy alternative to simply lifting one hand to dodge a kick.

116Cristopher Reinhart

Noire dodged in some crazy fashion, though he was in the middle of a kick no less. This was most puzzling, but not very surprising as he'd seen displays of overwhelming skills thus far. Itw as just amazing how he'd managed to rolled over something aimed at a high angle. Not his hands, you'd think Noire would catch some kind of contact in his dodge. Oh well, on with the fight. Noire would fall on Reinhart, mainly on his legs bring both of them to the ground. How could one attack or counter in this position? Simple, use what skills you have available to you.

The moment Noire made contact Reinhart reached for a piece of his long robes gripping it tightly. He pulled on it hard to ground Noire somewhat to himself. While doing this he did as he'd done to Karasen, he let off a massive charge of electricity. Enough to send Noire flying off like he'd just stepped on the third rail of a subway train. Even if Noire wasn't making direct conatct with Reinhart's body he'd still be in the proximity of this massive discharge.

Wether they were still somewhat ariborne or not so long as Noire was withing Reinhart's reach he'd grab that long robe. Wonder if he would hand stand and roll his way out of this.

With the permission of Cris for contact, Michael Noire applies a mild thumb nail pressure into the leg he now sits upon, redirecting all of the electricity which seemingly like magic came from no where, directly into the sub (below the) sartorius rectus (primary target) at the vastus internus intersection... as muscles only contract, and by electrical impulses alone, Noire didnt appear to evidence knowledge of exactly what would happen to a single major muscle sent into spasmodic shock with sufficient power to throw someone's whole body, although he did understand the principle of levers, pullies, and incline planes, and was quite certain that whatever the stress limit of that particular muscle and nerve bundle, he was going to get to witness its stress limits this very second...

Noire would be sorely dissapointed as his nail would strike nothing but one of Reinhart's hidden knives. Hopefully he struck hard enough to break it, though that was doubtful it wasn't totally out of the question. Especially when it came to this guy, how would he deal with the electrical discharge now? No time left to change the first plan of action and he's actually sitting on the source of electricity. Shock, fly, maybe then pass out Noire.

Having been provided with so wonderful a weapon at his disposal, and his hand already in place, with the flick of the wrist Noire manipulates the concealed bladed wepaon into a sharp twist and downward motion re aligning the blade even beneath the fabric to an impaling motion. Noire couldnt say whether or not reinhart's weapons were of quality, or whether he also had personal immunity to bladed objects, but he would soon find out, as with the final stroke, he rolls backward 3 paces distant and rises half paced to shizentai stansa.

Ryugin - 15.6

Old Skool - 14.5

The results had come in, determining the victors, only there was something else. Something sinister...

As the victorious team was declaired, the judges asked the spectators to leave the area, the fight being finished, the spectators congradulating the losing team as much as the winning team for putting on a great show. But before Team Ryugin had left itself, one of them would be called out.

The 'Devil', dressed in a large black cloak, whose head was covered in a mask in the form of a grinning human skull with horms, stepped into the fighting area and spoke.

"Ryugi Kazamaru, of team Ryugin, you are hereby called out to take part in an elimination round."

Those spectators which remained and heard the call were instantly curious of the situation, but the other judges ushered them away.

"The rules are simple, they are the same as the tournament rules, with one stipulation. Defeat me, and you may go onto the next set of matches, lose, and you are barred from participating in the next match, either as a fighter or a striker. Your team-mates will have to make up for you in this case.

This fight will be one on one, restricting your team-mates from acting as strikers. All flag offenses will be the same except for the lenience to comply with the rules are more strict, one red card is a loss."

What? How could that be? Fight a judge? But if he didnt, it would count as a forfeit, and he would be barred from participating in the next match, which could mean a loss for the team as their members were broken down. He really didnt have a choice in the matter.

The 'Devil' stood beside the fountain, the man behind the mask and beneath the costume of the judge simply waited, whether it be an attack or a forfiture.

((One week is the maximum time allowed for this match, if finished early, good.))

127Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi stood up and dusted himself off. He'd been chosen for an elimination round? He wondered what he'd done to warrant this, however, he wasn't about to just be eliminated like that. In the end, it appeared he'd have to fight for his right to stay with his team. Win or lose, he'd have to fight for it.

Very well then. I accept the responsibilities of this elimination round. I'll fight in it.

He took a deep breath, and waited for things to transpire.

128User 367130

"Ryugi..."

Silver closed his eyes. There was nothing he could do about this. Ryugi was no doubt tired, but he had been chosen by the judges for one reason or another. There was little he could do to help his comrad. But that didn't stop a grin from appearing on his face.

"Give him hell, Dragon boy. Show the judges the power of the Ryugin!"

Before he could be finished, the eliminator would interrupt him, "You werent give a choice, this is a fight not a conversation, have at you!"

It seemed like the devil was a rather impatient type... or maybe just grumpy and mean. But he didnt even bother moving from his position, still standing by the fountain. It seemed that the victims were given the priviledge of making the first attack. Sort of like a free shot or something while the eliminator was covered in a heavy cloak and a mask that would limit their vision somewhat. Perhaps it was only fair in such a way.

130Ryugi Kazamaru

Well. Apparently Ryugi was given the first move. Oh well, time to go. He decided to open with something simple. He charged towards his opponent, right fist cocked and then released into a punch aimed at his opponent's chest as he charged energy for his next few attacks.

::The fist was cocked like some sort of gun. How obvious...A blin man would have been able to read that punch, which was good considering he did. But he didnt move.

The punch grew closer, and closer, really looking as if it was going to hit the unmoving devil square in the chest. And infact it did hit something...an open palm, it took the fist like a professional catcher chating a baseball. His grip was as tight as steel. When you wield a weapon as large and heavy as the one he wields you must have a vicious grip, and he did. A deathgrip one might say, the sort of grip that will likely only release if the man is killed.

There was no pause, no second of space, no instant of motion. The attack was slated to land, even as Ryugi's fist was being caught. The true flaw of obvious attacks is that your opponent has time to counter not only before you can finish your attack, but before you even know what he's planning. The fist was stopped dead in its tracks by the Devil's gloved black left hand, and in the same heart beat came a blade from the mans right. The blade was extended over the mans fisted and through is black sleave, seemingly from some unknown source around his arm. In actuality the blade had been moving way before he caught Ryugi's hand but there was no way for Ryugi to know as the motion had been covered by the winds blowing of his heavy black cloak. There was no kindness here, the man gave no quarter, no room breathe much less to think. The 10inch long blade was sharpened to the surgical precision of a surgeon's scalpel.

It would slice through muscle and tissue like just that...tissue. And with Ryugi's arm extended in a punch it was like laying a log out in front of the woodsmen. Or perhaps more like extending a slab of meat before the butcher, and this butcher aimed to slice the arm right off in a wide swipe. It went without saying that he had the brutality and strength, to do so. To be honest, the only he regretted was the fact that this wasnt both the mans arms.::

132Ryugi Kazamaru

A glint of light, a hint of movement, and Ryugi saw the blade coming. His right arm was then caught in a deathlock. The blade arced into clear view and without more than a thought, his left hand rocketed into view and gripped the tip of the 10 inch blade.

Ryugi's Profile Wrote:

Gloves - Ryugi's gloves are fireproof/heat resistant as well and have thick layers of woven dragonsteel into the palms as well as a plate across the back of the hand, allowing him to be able to grasp swords and other sharp objects without fear of injuring his hands.

At the same time as the grabbing of the blade, Ryugi's left leg came out and pumped a powerful kick towards the torso and stomach of his Devil Masked Assailant. His red eyes narrowed slightly at his opponent, for he could tell if that slash had hit, he would have easily sustained heavy damage to his right arm. Something wasn't right here, and it made him cautious and alert.

((2/17 - Hello, Max.

EDIT: Going to bed now.))

133EveeKnight

Typical. If there was one thing her father had taught her - when you were in a fight, you fight. The only time you flap your jaws was when you were going to bite someone.

Meryl watched from the sidelines quietly, her own black cloak wrapped around her. She was angry. At her team and herself for not performing to the standards she was used to.

But this opponant...

She would've loved to see how the Lament would fair against that sword. Too bad there was no tag-teaming allowed.

Suddenly she shouted out, her voice carrying over the crowd. "C'mon Ryugi! Trouce this poof already! I'll turn you into a skid-mark if you dont!"

Then she looked over to the other man. "That the best you got, Skelator?! You suck! I've seen thousand year-old grandmas on dialasis with sprained ANKLES that could move faster then that!! Whilst knitting an AFGAN!"

134Maximos

Pathetic.

::The voice was digitized and altered inside the mask to hide the wearers identity. But, the shallow voice came from behind the mask as his blade was grabbed. He wasnt an idiot. No idiot stands still while being grappled. Fight are not one by equipment, fights are one by those with the heart and skill to win them.

His arm was grabbed, and his body was already in motion. What was a paltry fighter to do? Take advantage of the mans busied arms to launch something quick, weakening his opponent for further counters? No, of course not. He kicked him...he brought his leg up and forward. Simple. Easier to read that a childs book. His timing couldnt have been more off if it was a joke told at a funeral. Or a confession of infidelity during a wedding.

The kick came and extended fully out hitting nothing but a moving cloak. The man had done nothing more than sidestepped to his left. If there was time he would have congratulated Ryugi on giving himself next to zero balance. One leg extended, both arms extended. And Ryugi would quickly feel tension as his right blade jerked downwards and was ripped free from the glove. Not a second before, not breath after but just as Ryugi's leg reached its full extension, the arm wrapped around the poor childs shin, ensaring the leg and locking it in place.

That wasnt nearly enough, even as the leg was grabbed a whipcrack could be heard as what looked to be a black cord whiplashed outward from behind the man and wrapped around Ryugi's right leg....the poor little boys only source of balance. The tail...which had ensared Ryugi's right leg was about just over 2.5inches thick and surprisingly strong. This tail had been used to fling an 150lb man a good 10ft upwards with minimal strain...what chance does a single leg balancing a lost child stand? Worst off, when trying to escape the tails 6ft reach...what chance did Ryugi's right leg stand? None. The tail would grip, and immediately pull, aiming not only to pull the leg out from under him, but to pull the leg straight upwards, and hold him up by it.

No...that wasnt all. With decades of practice comes the simple ability to do more than one thing at a time. While some are still struggling with the concept of attacking and defending in the same motion. The tail grab, the leg grab, all were co-ordinated to occur at the same time. They were all such simple actions, simplistic techniques with simplistic weapons...such is a concept many cant grasp. And this was be the third and final piece to that attack set. As Ryugi was feeling his balance ripped from him, his punching arm, was released, and like a silent guilotine the Devil's left blade came soaring down aiming to slice Ryugi's trapped leg clean off, at the knee. Unless some "fancy pants", wanted to appear.

What room was there to defend? His balance was being pulled from him. The attack was coming even as he himself was kicking! What time was there? It takes less than a blink for a blade to be pulled the distance between Ryugi's arm and his leg, by simple gravity...but this wasnt just gravity, this was an actual attack from a trained fighter. What powers would could possibly arise? In a split second during Ryugi's own attack, he could muster his supra-magic? Maybe his giant sword? Would it swing in quicker than the time it took for his heart to pump the blood to his arm? Perhaps his leg was to tough! Likely not, these blades had cut through knights and kings wielding there steel and iron, granted this cutting power only existed in the most direct and crudest of strikes...which was exactly what this was a chop, as mean and crude as a butchers. How fighting, the Devil Butcher was amongst this mans titles.::

135Cristopher Reinhart

"Hmmmm.....?"

Was the only audible thing Reinhart said since the second round began, however short it was. They'd made it through somehow and now there was a judge calling out Ryugi. Nothing left to do now but watch, so he relaxed walked away from the center and retreated to the fence. Their alternate was here, oddly enough he had a small memory of her. What was it?

Ah yes, she held a knife to his throat once. Memories. They always sold him just a bit short, there wasn't much to remember anyway. Well, atleast things he wanted to remember and now he stood with one of his "bad" memories. But she was a good girl from what he knew, very proud, very skilled, and Tomorrow's little sis. Guess memory served him a bit better than he thought after all. Now as he sat down, rested his back on the fence, crossed his arms, and kept his eyes lowered.

He only stood about four feet from Meryl, maybe he had a chance for a new start with her. Contrary to his recent attitude he did like making new friends so he gave it another shot. Hopefully she'd forgotten him by now.

"Looks like our fights ended up short doesn't it?"

Though his eyes were still locked on the ground he projected his voice towards Meryl.

136EveeKnight

The crowd. The noise. The excitment of being in the tournament before being halted so suddenly - it had bore down on Meryl a little too much, and she whirled on her team-mate with fire in her green eyes.

"You call that fighting?! Loser!! You wouldn't be able to fight your way out of an air-bubble, you calcium deficiant, boner-deprived, knuckle-bone-head!"

Meryl was really letting fly. And this was the PG-rated stuff.

((Editted for stupidity)

137Cristopher Reinhart

"Heh...."

She was totally right, he hadn't displayed any sort of fighting since the first round which was in many ways pathetic. He didn't have fancy moves like Ryguis, he couldn't make tiny blackholes, all he could do was simply fight. Though he really didn't bare his fighting spirit since the tournament began. Nothing left now but to push forward.

"You got a point. I've made it this far thanks to Ryugi and luck. Can't be proud of that if I tried."

There was no escape from feeling a bit embaressed due to his performance thus far but there wasn't much he could do now. Sides thank luck for letting him get this far with so little effort. Not to mention unfinished fights. Maybe a comment would change her train of thought?

"A shame we didn't get to see you in action, I probably wouldn't be able to call our adavancement luck if we did."

Hoped that helped, somewhat, a little, a pinch, whatever. So long as he wasn't stuck watching the massacre before him.

138EveeKnight

Meryl turned back to the fight in a huff. "There's no point in fighting if you're going to rely on others to do it for you." She muttered, watching the fight again and turning her back on Cris - who she realised had been the guy fighting in the bamboo the other day.

"Nobody told me that we were fighting today. I even wonder if i'm a part of this team..."

139Cristopher Reinhart

Relying on others? Not likely.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm not relying on Ryugi nor Silver to get through this thing. I'm merely pointing out that Ryugi got a win in the first round and a draw in this one. That had to contribute to our advancement in one way or another."

She turned her back on him, what a surprise. Well, not really.

"I think it's Silver's job to tell us where and when we're fighting, you got a problem with that you take it up with him. As far as being part of the team, what can I say? You're here, you wanna fight, and I'm sure you wanna win. What else do you need?"

A bit bold on his part but he had a habit of doing these things recently.

140EveeKnight

"A real fight." She muttered, watching the men fight.

141Cristopher Reinhart

"Then by all means, take my spot in the next round if a real fight is what you crave. I'm sure the thrid round will be brutal enough to provide what you're looking for."

With that said he sank in place sitting on the ground one leg extended, the other bent. Arms still crossed, his eyes now looking past his boot, he couldn't help but wonder what was to become of Ryugi. A merciless devil was set to slice him to ribbons and there was nothing the team could do about it.

142User 367130

"It would help if you would check your FIGHTERs."

He didn't even look at the two; he was intently watching the judge and Ryugi go at it. He was slightly annoyed by her ignorance.

"They tell you when and where fights are. I think they also monitor you and whatnot. I'm not entirly sure what all they do; I'm not much of a technologist."

143Oblivionic

"That's going to hurt..."

Oblivionic watches on, now beyond the barrier to see how his former opponent will stand up against this man. The man has the advantage, though, from viewing his and Ryugi's fight. The judge knows a good deal of Ryugi's tricks as well. Perhaps Ryugi will lose a leg right her, perhaps not. Oblivionic contemplates leaving early, to get a start on his own tournament. The idea came to him during the points awarding. He felt mildly gypped for losing, when his team had the upper hand throughout the entire match. He has several ideas for 'improving' upon this one.

The Devil Masked Judge was correct, what COULD Ryugi do in such a small timeframe? The answer, was simple. Ryugi could do nothing in the way of attack, or defense, from his current position. And if he could, he couldn't see it. However, he had another ace up his sleave.

CLANK!!

The judge's blade would hit nothing but kneeguard. While it was true that Ryugi was now strung up like a fish on a line, his hands and arms were luckily free. Clearly, this was not a match of skill anymore, this was a match of brutality.

The tails is meant to pull Ryugi's leg out and holding the boy up by the leg. Like meat hanging from a hook in the butchers freezer. ::As per the boys own admission he was hoised up by the tail. Having been pulled up, his back would be toward the Devil, as is normal for anyone having their leg pulled forward and up in front of them.

The situation was clear, here was Ryugi, with his back to someone, and with his body being hoisted upside down. His leg was released, it was irrelevant. Not many people can say that in the moment they are flipped upside down they have perfect balance and perfect time.

Even less can say that when they have their backs turned toward someone they can perfectly see the attacks that person is planning or swinging. Any idiot with eyes knows that. The Devil watched, and as Ryugi was pulled up, he released his leg, and in the instant his view was blocked, he swung.

Ryugi's vision was turned. There was really nothing audible to give away his position as the wind was constantly blowing his cloak mimicing the sound the Devil made when he swung. And finally, there was nothing to see. As from behind Ryugi, like a scisscor slamming shut, The Devil brought both arm blades across aiming to slice Ryugi's head clean off.::

151Ryugi Kazamaru

((Kraun says he'd accept my bio that I PM'd to him, so we'll continue under the bio.))

For a moment, everything stopped. Ryugis mind was soon filled with pictures and bright flashes of images. Image after image shot through his mind, tidbits of conversations past and present moved through his consciousness. He could hear Silver Moonblade wishing him luck in his fight. He could hear the shouts from the crowd cheering him on as he fought his last opponent. He could smell the dampness of a bamboo forest, feel the icy cold of the Guldor snow, the loving embrace of his beloved Vargus, and see the tiny grin from his brother, with whom hed finally made peace. He saw the tiny form of Eclipse scampering around happily in the grass. The warmth from his bed in Latent flowed across him. He could feel the adrenaline from numerous fights rushing through him; hear the kind words of a friendly shadow, the harsh ones of a doctor, the serious and gruff voice of a police officer. The shy and gentle voice of a kind rabbit girl graced his ears. He saw his hometown in Angara from aged eyes, the look of shock and love from a certain violet haired girl.

More and more they came, faster and brighter. He saw friends fighting on a battlefield, his friend and general was struck down, sadness filling him for a fleeting moment. The death of another friend at the hands of a giant golem. The tragic passing of his friend Kara, and he was reminded of the scarf he wore around his neck. He saw the happy smiles from his friends and party members from the quest to find Ragnarok, all of them huddled around a campfire. He saw the meeting of he and his first party member, a knight named Pent. He saw himself crawling up a beach in the moonlight, wreaked and tired from a long and difficult ocean crossing, the cold passing through him once more. He felt sorrow as he stared at a retreating shoreline, as wave after wave pushed him farther out to sea. He felt anger and sadness as he walked away from a burning village; regret flowing through him that he couldnt save anyone. He then heard the light and kind-hearted voice of his father, Arlian Kazamaru. The loving touch and warmth from his mother, Lillian Kazamaru, graced his senses. Then, he heard the voices. Be strong and live for both of us, Ryugi. Just live enough for the both of us, all right?

The thought process had taken under a millisecond, but to Ryugi, it seemed like it had been an eternity, as if hed seen his entire life once more. He couldnt allow himself to die like this. And as he heard the blades coming to deliver the final blow to him, to end his life, it happened. In a single instant, it happened. All of a sudden, Ryugi felt calm, he knew that this battle was most likely his last. But the Adamants help him if he was going to sit back and enjoy the ride. He would not go quietly into the depths. His hearing was fine enough he could hear the whizzing of his opponents blades, even against the whirling of the cloak, mind you; these two things sound quite different. A fake is nothing compared to the real thing. Ryugi was released, and tucked his back and body forward, his head pulling up and away from the blades what were aimed to decapitate him, his arms moving to his chest. At the same time, Ryugi would activate one of his moves, the Spirit Lock. His spirit and soul would be locked to his body by powerful holy energy, cutting it off from outside influence or attack. Only the purest of souls are allowed this technique by the Adamants, who control every aspect of Dragon life, and death. He needed only to think for the Spirit Lock to occur. Ryugis soul was safe, his body, however, was a different story.

The final course of action was none other than Ryugis Limiter Release. At the same time as Ryugi used the Spirit Lock with one of his three turns of charge, his body tapped into the elemental planes, letting their power flow into his body for only a moment before slamming the proverbial door shut once more. The heat from the blast of energy would erupt outwards from Ryugi at a speed of thirty feet per second, forming a powerful spherical field of force that would serve to send opponents flying backwards nearly twenty feet away. The force of the blast would be similar to being hit by a thunderously powerful punch, just all over, most likely powerful enough to shatter glass as well. If the attack worked, it would launch Ryugis body into the air since he was essentially floating in midair, giving him time to react to further attacks, as well as toss his opponent across the course. If not, then hed just simply have to initiate his backup plan

((4/17))

::As Ryugi leaned his head back, the Devils blades would swoosh by his face. In the moment they passed his neck, they would stop and simply return back, this time in a reverse cross. Again, a scissor slash. At this range, there was really no where for Ryugi to turn or go. He had leaned his head back and his body forward. Since his back was toward The Devil, so was his head. In effect he had arched his back, towards the Devil in order to avoid the slash. This would mean that his back was bent in a somewhat uncomfortable position. And his neck was wide open, The Devil really wasnt giving the chance for Ryugi to move, having stopped his blades just outside of Ryugi's head he moved them up and across. Since Ryugi's head was lifted upwards and back, it would have was only a natural motion that it would have to come back down. The blades aimed to behead him from right beneath his chin. The swing started from less then 4inches away.

To be certain, the Devil dropped his tail downward just a few inches as he swung in effect lowering Ryugi's neck into the swinging death, and closing the gap even further. In all honesty there was less than a second between the first slash, and the second. It was not a very complex move, rather a simple quick one. He was barely given the time to finish dodging the first blow, he had no time to prepare of the second. It was cold and to the point, it left no time for a counter. He might have time to blink...

Unfortunately, for The Devil, this was not just a casual fight, or slaughter. This was a mission. There was a goal, and there was planning. Anyone who had seen Ryugi's fight, knew what techniques he had used. Anyone who had been to other planes of existance, knew how he used them. The elemental residue from opening up planes of being, its a messy thing. You cant tear open a plane of being, and not leave a mark.

Ryugi released his limiter, likely, he would feel way before he saw. Namely, he would feel as nothing happened. The elemental plane of fire did not open. Why?

Planar Lock. There are many species in existance who take pleasure in hoping from plane to plane, many parade across the astral, others simply dance across the cosmos. A person employed in Devil's line of business must be able to track them, and perhaps be prepared to spend eons in chase. Or do one better, lock them. Planar Lock is a simple technique mastered by...the Reaper Drones. The Elemental Plane of Fire, Ice, Water, Light, Shadow, the Shadow Realm, Heaven, Hell, Valhalla...each were locked off. Even for a moment the spirit world was locked from being entered. Ryugi might feel the sort of feeling you get when you try and push your hand through a sheet of solid plastic, it gives slighty but it refuses to break. There was a single dimension open, and if he pushed hard enough, it would crack open. But it wasnt the plane of fire, it was something more...unearthly. And the more he pulled, the more a matching pull was placed on his soul. Lock and all.

As for the soul lock, a being who's employment is the harvesting of souls, is not knew to soul locks, or protection. A fish cant leave its fishbowl, but if you placed some water in a bag, you can carry the fish with you. Ryugi's soul was locked in the physical plane, and there is exactly where it would stay. But who's to say the plane couldnt simply travel with him? The Devil wouldnt really bother with cracking the soul lock. If the soul didnt leave the dead body, it would simply become a zombie, an undead bound to a soul. Undeads are restricted by general Reaper codes...he would be hunted everywhere he walked. If it did leave its body, he was there to catch it. There was no real telling who the Devil was behind that mask, but he was there when Odin fell, when Cronos was cast away, when the Titans slaughtered the Olympians. And he would be there when history repeated itself again. Any gods who wished may try and descend, but the Devil had been ordered to terminate all opposition. And was equipped to do so.

Despite whatever ongoings in the fight, a green orbed slipped from The Devils cloak. The orb hovered in mid air beside the Devil as he moved. And seemed to be growing some sort of black fungus on it. Very quickly the fungus took shape and seemed to spread across the orb like blackish tendrils, holding it tight. It stretched downwards and outwards forming a curved staff, and in a sharp "Snikt!" it formed a long blade. A scythe was formed with green orb at the joint of the scythe. The inscription across the side of the blade was easily legible, if Ryugi still had a head at this moment, it was etched as if burned by some immortal finger. "Before the Scythe of the Reaper, all are mortal." It was true, Ryugi had a spirit lock, it kept his soul in the physical plane. It was as easy as cutting bread for this scythe to merely cut the chunk of the physical plane out, and transport it to where it needed to be. Time would only tell if it needed to be used.::

((His leg was released, it was irrelevant. I tucked my head up and away from the blades, towards my chest, not leaned it back.))

Ryugi's upside down duck would have him continuing his motion foreward and away from the whizzing blades, having been released. As he spun forewards, his feet planting firmly on the ground, his arms shot out and grabbed the Devil's shoulders and upper arms as he finished his missed swing.

In that single bit of time, Ryugi would pull his body closer, using his foreward momentum to headbutt the Devil straight on the bridge of his nose, even with the mask, that wouldn't be pleasant.

((The leg that Devil was going to cut off, that was released. Not the leg the tail is holding. Your post said Ryugi moved his head "back", back is towards me. If you moved it forward, away from me, thats fine too, it only makes it harder for you to see, and requires an adjustment of a few words.))

::--was met with the same interuption it would have been if he had leaned his head back, instead of forward. The only difference being now, he would be unable to see the oncoming blades. Most guillotines slice at the back of the neck first...now this one would be no different. The scissor slice would fly at the rear of Ryugi's neck, again the reaction time would be next to nill for all the reasons listed above. With the exception of Ryugi's position nothing had changed. Not a single thing. Not even the timing had really altered.

He was really being given no chance to move forward, as the tail was dipping him lower to compensate for all his attempts to move up, forcing him to stay in position for the fraction of a second it would take for the blades to end him.::

*With the heated battle raging on, it would be unlikely that anyone would have taken notice of the petite figure watching from the sidelines. Draped in a flowing cloak of white, trimmed about the hem with a simple gold stitch... the figure had been watching the fight. Concealed within the depths of fabric, the woman who wore the robe watched the fight rage on.

Her feet had been guided to this place... and as soon as she had arrived there there had been no doubt in her mind as to why. Something was horribly wrong. A growing sense of urgency built up within her, welling up from deep within her soul. Something very bad was going to happen in this place... something horrible.

Despite the warmth of the white cloth surrounding her body, she shivered. Part way through the battle she stopped seeing the world about her... Her eyes had rolled back, although nobody would notice.

She remained standing, her figure perfectly still.

A bloody vision played out in her mind as her thoughts reeled from the knowledge of such horrors that were being passed into her hands. The knowledge of what would happen to this man, Ryugi if nobody did anything to save him before it was too late... Because if nobody did anything... The vice-captain of team Ryugin would cease to exist, forever. But not only would he dissapear... he would be erased utterly. It would be to the world, as if he had never existed at all.

There was a complication in this though... Interfearence to aide Ryugi by taking on the judge would count get him and his team DQ'ed. Instead... she would have to attack Ryugi himself... only by taking down the platinum haired captain, could she deliver him from death. She was going to attack him on behalf of the very person who was trying to kill him.

The conviction to do what had to be done swelled within the heart of this being as her sight returned to her. Her Goddess had brought her here to save him. And so she would... no matter what it meant might happen to her... her determination would not waver.

This woman continued to cloak her energies and her 'presence' lest the rampaging judge take notice of her. Other than visualy, it would be as if she were invisible to the other senses that many present in this tournament likely posessed.

While the man attacked Ryugi, she would cloak herself entirely. Triggering a stored cantrip, the figure clad in white, vanished.

She had vanished and been moving before the blade was even aimed for the captain's neck. So when he dipped him towards death... she was already beside the fighting pair.

The problem now was... the invisibility charm she had used to mask her pressence, would fade as soon as she touched either of them physically.

In a blinding flash, the figure appeared... yet just who this was, nobody could see, as she was concealed by a blinding white light that would burn daze anybody's vision who looked upon her. It was as if a ball of light had just appeared beside them both.

When the light faded... Ryugi would be laying across the fighting area, his body slightly broken from the impact with the ground and where a tail had tried to tighten it's hold on it's prey. He would be gashed... bruised and bleeding where the devil's appendage had tried to keep it's grip. In all likeliness, Ryugi's own limb was disloacted from the brief game of tug'o'war. The vice-captain would be unmoving... Knocked out cold, a swollen welt on his temple where the woman's palm had connected with some serious force.

The cloaked figure stood over the felled man, gripping her right wrist, a golden bracer pulsing with the white light that had flared about her when she first appeared on the field.

She stared straight at the devil, a safe distance from his reach as she spoke, her face still hidden.*

"Your opponent is Knocked out... Your job is done."

Disqualification on part of Team Ryugin.

Reasons:

Striker Assist in a match where Strikers are prohibited. Red flag, resulting from special rules in a disqualification.

Striker Assist by a fighter registered to another team. White Flag, disqualification.

(( Intent.

To a referree watching the fight, this is what would matter, wouldn't it? If she hadn't said that last bit, it would simply be an attack on Ryugi.

HOWEVER, what she says changes that entirely. The move, not only in action, but what she said had clear intent to stop the fight. What is said is a 'cease and desist'. If she had left out that last sentence, maybe you'd be right, Bren. But the character said that, which makes it a 'save', rather than an 'attack'.

Imagine if you will TWO characters, completely unrelated stepping up and helping out BOTH of the teams, BAM, instant draw. Yep, thats gonna be fun.

Yep, thats 100% right. So, lets bring the whole tournament to its knee's because of it. Its obviously irrelevant wether or not the person wanted/requested/whatever'd assistance. So why not? Hell I can just poof an NPC into being and sway the entire tournament from this fight on into the direction I want it to go in. Anyone can, and no one can do anything about it! Right? Wow. I think that realization officially made the decision between wether its Heaven, or Hell. Under that reasoning, the entire function of judges is negated. What does there need to be a judge for? Their ruling is totally useless unless everything they say is previously mentioned in what must be a 40page rule book for every possible situation. That line of reasoning really does defy logic.

[Disclaimer: I am not actually intending to ruin the tournament like that.]

I'm not stupid, people love to help people. This person doesnt get help. Its why he hasnt asked for it, and why his team hasnt delivered it.

[i]*Despite the warmth of the white cloth surrounding her body, she shivered. Part way through the battle she stopped seeing the world about her... Her eyes had rolled back, although nobody would notice.

She remained standing, her figure perfectly still.

::And then they appeared. Literally between the beats of a heart there they were. For a moment, the world seemed to slow to a crawl, colors bled away leaving nothing but stillness. In the moment between two heart beats, a meeting was to be held. Not one, not two, not one hundred, not two hundred. They're exact number was in the thousands, about 2 thousand.

Heaven or Hell is a large tournament, any celestial organization that is worth its souls, or any child thats has ever watched an anime, knows...when you have a big tournament with powerful fights, more often than not the crowd is put in danger by the sheer power of the fighters. If Heaven or Hell does not qualify as such a tournament then surely, no tournament on Gaia does. A Reaper Drone was assigned to each and every spectator currently in attendance and each of the fighters. During an actual battle that number doubles, just in case a strange attack makes the Reaper Drone itself unable to perform its duties.

As of right now a small army surrounded this ring. Each member of this army looked exactly like the other, and held a scythe almost identical to the one being manifested by The Devil.

Was it overkill? No. These Drones were not assigned with the mission of attacking or harming Ryugi in any way. They were called in to simply watch and make sure the battle goes unhindered. Such is not an interference in the fight, as they have no interaction with any of the fighters. The only individuals even able to identify them are other Reapers, those at the brink of death, and those they choose to reveal themselves too.

This figure, though its name was unknown, its intent was highly recognized. All spectators had been asked to leave. For this moment, she would be privy to what stood before. A small division of the main 2,000 surrounded her, exactly 500 units. When we say surrounded we do not mean in police formation, we mean the sort of surrounding you feel in a mall during X-mas shopping. It likely feel like there was more people in the air, than air. Each figure wore a hood covering all but the lower half of their face, they were of varying ages and breeds, but none said a word...save for one.

The final one to reveal itself, revealed itself armed, its scythe came into view not through motion but through materialize, the icy cold chill of its curved blade was highly noticable as it traced a curve in front of the figures neck.

Voices spoke, thought they came from one mouth, several voices spoke in unison. The lead voice seemed female, but cold...dead. It lacked all emotion, it stated fact. Wether it spoke to mortal or god, all were the same.::

It is not your time. But it can be...still your heroic heart...and listen.

::From behind her, the female Reaper leaned inwards, her lips spoke a whisper, into the nameless womans ear. And as her words ended...so did what would seem like a dream. Reality returned, or so it seemed. Everything was as it was, and as it seemed like it should have been. There was no visible scythes, or blacked cloaked peoples. No crowding, just another fight. Right?::

The answer to that, is no one. Actions such as those should be banned and punishable by banning from wherever it takes place. Actions such as Sierra's should be rewarded, and praised, not condemned as some are trying to do.

I would not hesitate to act or call someone on such malicious intent towards someone else's character even for a moment. I think such actions are wrong, morally as well as logically.

::A scythe is a Reapers tool, more than that its a part of the reaper itself. The green orb from which the scythe is grown is the physical representation of the tank which holds the reaped souls. The scythes blade is curved, and sharp. A blade meant to cut the ties between flesh and spirit has no problem cutting the bonds between flesh and bone.

The Devil's eyes were ever watching. The extension of his self that was the scythe moved with a single though. Ryugi had performed an aerial sit up. Devils reach unfortunately stopped his arms just inches from the back of Ryugi's neck. The blades were open, waiting for the next to enter the scissor space between them and be severed. But, in all honesty, this was taking far longer than it needed to. The scythe moved with swiftness, its curved blade slid into place directly in front of Ryugi.

The curved blade would be entirely visible...just outside of Ryugi's range. It was curved inwards with the stalk of the weapon pointing towards the Devil, and with its bladed pointed only a few degree's downward aiming at about where Ryugi's chest was. Ryugi's body was directly in the apex of the L shaped blade.

Two motions were performed, first, the tail dropped Ryugi down again, just about inches, enough to place his head into the guilottine waiting for him. Lastly, the scythe swung back and down. Ryugi was being held in mid air by his foot, there was no where he could run. Due to the fact the tail had dropped the boy down, the scythe aimed to slice directly into and then out of Ryugi's midsection. This wouldnt leave a mere scratch, it would slice Ryugi's body in twain at about the hip. While time was of the essence, it wasnt the crippling factor in this , it was the fact that there was no where to run...to where to move. The blade of that scythe was a full four feet long.

With the blade slicing, and the scissored gauntlets waiting, what time was there to move? Where was there to run and hide? There was nary enough time to take a breath much less manuever. Death was quite literally breathing down his neck.::

217themightyjello

(( So... what... he's hanging there for a second or two while the scythe moves into position? ))

Among the crowd that had gathered, another one pushed his way through, up to the edge where the barriers were placed to keep the crowd at bay. He folded his arms on the edge of the barrier and leaned over it slightly, staring at the two combattants, the remaining members of their team, the interlopers, and the thousands of reaper drones hanging in the air.

218Ryugi Kazamaru

The one miscalculation on the Devil's part was where he expected Ryugi to move out of the sit-up position, and bend back down into the arm blades. However, this DID put him in a rather tough situation when it came to the scythe.

Luckily, Ryugi's arms were still at his chest, and as the curved blade of the scythe made to slice him in twain, his hands would close on the flat area of the blade, holding it at bay, almost like a clap, or praying. That dealt with...

Ryugi was running out of options, but, he DID have one leg free. And in the same instant he grasped the blade of the scythe, his free leg made a kicking attempt straight at the Devil's face and chest.

((Two things.

Ryugi doesnt have to move himself into the blades, he's being brought to them. If he stays in place, that really isnt going to change anything.

Secondly, a kick? You realize Ryugi is in a sitting up position, upside down and with his back to the devil correct? At no time was Ryugi turned around, so to launch a kick at someone who is behind and below him, while in a sitting position in mid air. If that was possible Ryugi would be giving Mr. Fantastic a run for his money.

I believe an edit is in order.))

(( Max, pay attention to your own posts, and his.

The Devil was holding him up by one leg, with his back to the Devil. At this, he did a midair situp. His a** is at the devil, his body is bent up on the opposite side of his legs than the devil is.

No matter how far you drop him, you won't get his head BELOW him when he's bent like that. At most you'll just be dropping his back onto the two blades.

Bringing his leg down like that would be hard with a straight leg, but if he bent his knee (considering the proximity), it would deliver a heel to the top of the Devil's head.

I believe you're in the clear now to post your reaction. ))

::That would have lasted for all of a breath. Ryugi was holding the blade between his tightly squeezing hands. The moment the blade came to a stop there was a second more powerful tug. As two hands grapped the 6ft long staff of the scythe and pulled it down with all the might the Devil's hands could muster at that moment.

Ryugi would feel the blade stop, and then almost immediately after, tug again, this time several times harder. The force was enough to cut the hand off, it was a much much easier job to slice away the layer of glove or even skin, acting as friction and continue the pull, straight through the boy.

He had made a kick, that was true. But as it stood now, the blade would slice him in twain before that kick ever landed.

Eitherway, if the foot was limp, or of the foot was alive, it would feel itself connect with the front of the mask making an audible snap as the mask was cracked and revealed the face below, or rather, the complete lack of a face. What stood in that hood was a nothing, a black void and what seemed to be the silohette of one white and slightly glowing left eye.::

223Ryugi Kazamaru

((I couldn't help but think of a Jawa, sorry Max. XD ))

Well, that was ... odd. Ryugi had more pressing matters to attend to other than stare at the lack of a face on his opponent's part. The scythe pulled down, being pulled by the Devil's hands, and Ryugi pushed it foreward and away from his chest with the first jerk.

The second jerk was MUCH harder to deal with, but being clever can have it's advantages. Instead of simply staying in one place, Ryugi used his tough gloves to act as a buffer as he bent back, the scythe slipping down past his body, as it started to move, his hands moved to the side of the bladed weapon that faced his body and pushed it away from his body, the blade missing him. The Devil's force would make it much harder to try and change the direction of his already awkward weapon.

In the instant the blade passed him, he sat back up, and out of any harm that the Devil's arm blades might try and cause to him if he was still using them...

The second jerk was MUCH harder to deal with, but being strong has its advantages. Ryugi wasn't looking to completely stop the more powerful second jerk, that would be far too difficult right now, but he DID use his strength to keep the blade away from piercing his pelvic area, using his strength to hold it away from piercing him, rather than trying to halt it.

Ryugi's kick had made contact with the mask, and caused it to crack away, and as the Devil jerked his scythe about, Ryugi aimed to lift another kick to his opponent's chest, following the motion of his first kick downwards, this kick would be on the return back up.

((I know, it kind looks like a giant one. Now the position, I had to have a talk to Josh about. The blade isnt pointing at your chest, its stretched across your chest wide. The end of the staff is to your right, and extending down to "Devil's" hands. And the blade is extended and curved in front of and across his chest. If you imagine an L, Ryugi is at the bottom of the L facing down and Uriel is grabbing the long part of the l and pulling up. There isnt one central point to move, its a whole 4ft blade. ::Use because he was talking didnt mean he wasnt fighting. He was in the middle of an attack, but Ryugi could use kevlar gloves to buffer against a blade that cuts steel, why couldnt the Devil move his arm in the middle of his attack. Yes, Ryugi bent back, and immediately the right hand of his opponent was waiting as he reached straight vertical, waiting to catch the back of his neck. Normally, doing so would make it so that Ryugi was now stuck, he couldnt move further back in before the blade sliced him...but something was off. Namely the burning.

Where the Devil....well no, his costume was removed when the mask came of. Where Uriel, had his hand around the back of Ryugi's neck, was a sharp burning. This was not the type of burn you get from fire or acid, this would be most closely related to the feeling you might get if part of you was literally dying while still attached. Needless to say it was painful, it was called The Mark of the Reaper. And it really only took a split second of contact to come into being. But Uriel hung on for more than a second, the feeling would spread threating to choke off life to Ryugi's neck. And for a moment this symbol:

Would be visible on the back of Ryugi's neck. It would glow a faint black before fading away leaving a scar. This was not an average scar, it was infact more of a curse. It would not effect Ryugi's day to say life, but this one section of flesh...would remain scarred. No surgery, no regeneration, no healing spell would return live to that dead skin, life had been removed, that was the extent of the curse.::

Yes my Lord, as you wish.

The scythe slipping down past his body, as it started to move, his hands moved to the side of the bladed weapon that faced his body and pushed it away from his body, the blade missing him.---

::At which point came the spin. Uriels scythe stopped dead in his tracks. It would have been very easy for him after Ryugi bent back and upwards to swing the scythe at the small of his back giving him no-where to move...but he didnt. Conversely he could have even just slightly altered his curret pull so that it sliced at a bit higher angle, namely at Ryugi's pelvis...which didnt move yet somehow was defended. But did none of these things. Immediately the reaper whipped his body around like a top, this actually lifted strangely a foot or two off the ground. Of course this motion would force the victim attached to the tail to spin just once before being suddenly and wildly flung across the arena by pure centrifical force.

However he landed, whatever he planned to do to counter attack. Uriels reaction would be the same. With a shake of his arms, two armlets fell to the floor, each gauntlet was engraved with the letter M. They looked rather beaten and used. And he spoke.::

You've fought well...theres no more time for games other breaches demand my attention. Consider that mark a promise Eclipse, I will be back for your head.

::There was no emotion in his voice, no desire or abilitiy to lie. He meant what he said, as he only knew how to say what he meant. It would have taken a blink, a breath, a heartbeat, and he was gone only a few black feathers slowly drifting to the ground marked that he was ever there.::

((Its officially wednesday meaning the clock was officially run out, before I even posted this. Its up to the other judges to decide what the verdict is.))

Meryl's cloak flared up as her arms reached out to grab Ryugi's flying body - and be blasted back by it, the two of them tumbling across the ground...

...Before she finally managed to halt their momentum with a well-placed boot-stamp, the dirt scunching up under them as she held Ryugi close, her chest-plate pressing into his back as her arms hooked under his, her hands pressing down on his head and bending it forward.

It was a classic sleeper-hold, and with Ryugi sitting as he was - legs straight out and still woozy from colliding with her - Meryl extended her hold, bending his body forward, keeping him in check as she saw the mark on his neck

The opponant was gone - a quick look over Ryugi's head was enough to see that - but Meryl was a little more concerned with the brand on his neck. "Hold still..." Meryl muttered as she pulled her arms out from under his to reach into her webbing - and pull out a camera. Small, slight, and silver, it looked beaten and worn - well used, you might say.

Brushing his hair away from the mark, she took three quick pictures before holding it out for Ryugi to look at on the digital screen.

"Seen this before?"

Ryugi was a bit disoriented from that last throw. He had no idea what the hell had just happened, and he had no idea WHO the hell that creature was, or what it wanted. However, he DID know that the being had made a threat on his life, and promised to return. Eclipse? Ryugi wasn't Eclipse, he was Ryugi, wasn't he?

Then he remembered what the old monk had told him many, many years ago, the one thing that had sparked his quest for Ragnarok. Ryugi was the re-incarnated soul of Eclipse. But this raised some serious questions. What had Eclipse done to this being, or his lord, to offend him so much to warrant a desire for his death?

And breaches. Breaches in what? Contract perhaps? Had Eclipse had a contract with the being or his lord? This event had raised many questions in Ryugi's mind. But one thing was for sure, his life was in danger. Threatened by a being stronger and more powerful than any Ryugi had ever dealt with. Things only promised to get worse...

It was then that Ryugi was shaken from his thoughts by Meryl's voice, and the waving of her camera in front of his face. He shook his head to clear his vison and looked at the image on the device.

I can't say that I have... But it looks like a Reap--

Suddenly, something snapped into focus. The scythe, the cloak, the seemingly disembodied voice. It all came together. It was practically unfathomable. Ryugi had just done battle with a Reaper. A servant of the Gods and of the Underworld. Harvesting and carying the souls of the dead to their final resting plane.

The Adamant Dragons, and their religion, had found no real need for the Reapers, and had always carried out this process themselves, sometimes re-incarnating souls of those that had proven themselves worthy of it in life, and taking others in to the Council of the Adamants, the Dragon version of Heaven, or the Scourge of the Adamants, the Dragon equivilent to Hell. But if the Adamantist Religion had no use for Reapers, then why did one attempt to kill Ryugi? Questions... So many questions, and so few answers to be had...

Terran and Akira were in Barton to watch the Tournament, but at this moment they had more important matters to attend to.

Akira held out an Strange Metalic Pendent, and started to tell Terran about it. "About 5,000 years ago a mad man was experimenting on your people and sealing them away in magical pendents, that would make him his slaves for all enternity, but there was one problem he spent all of his time trying to perfect the proccess he never forgot that he himself was mortal, and he eventualy died." Akira stopped talking, as Terran had falled asleep. " I guess we will have to continue this late.r" he replied in response to himself.

((Also, take notice that although I did not defeat the eliminator, he did not defeat me. This essentially means that it should go to judging like any other match, should it not?))

((No, you did not win. Simple as that.))

Would've saved us a ton of time.
