No..In fact, it was Ry who was baiting his opponent, but lucky him, SHE made the first move in making contact before Ryosuke could scramble to his sword which in fact was too long for him to draw completely. Perfect, she somehow switched hands with the weapon by tossing it behind her back, grabbing the "arm" (keep in mind you never said where) and even broken the distance between the two enough (being less than a foot and a half as you mentioned after moving right in front of me) to which now she was all up in Rys grill, and to make matters better, her hold? was only with one arm. Perfect.....In which NO he wasn't able to fully unsheathe the sword, but not because she took hold. Rather because he chose to stop pulling the moment he felt her touch.
Ryosuke, after getting his arm grabbed, would make things simple but effective. First, Ry immediately countered her hold by taking a hold for himself. With the "same" left arm. Ry had guessed she was holding his arm just a few inches below his shoulder, giving him plenty of space to bend his arm "up" using his elbow and grab hers by her elbow. While that took place Ryosuke quickly threw his right hand to her other elbow which in some manner might have been prepping to move to the side or upwards to make a hook at his face? No dice...And yes, it was a lucky guard on Rys part.
Now that she was in his face or "personal space", and in his face Ry would blast forward using his abs and waist to bend his head quickly and"head butt"(to see the speed of the attack, in which remember I'm facing you, and since we never stated our heights I'm assuming were face to face, plus i'm not bending my head back to hit, I just force my head which is actually a few inches above my forehead is what i'm hitting you with) his opponent right between the eyes..Shooting in fact for the bridge of her nose to which wouldn't even take seconds or even that to make the attack. Which with Rys hard head, damage would have gone past blood dripping from the nostrils but also a broken bridge and nose would make his opponent teary eyed and blur her vision. How she would manage to dodge this when she closed the gap by so much wouldn't seem possible at all, seeing how the space between the two was pretty much kissing distance.
Like Ry had mentioned before, whether it be a beautiful girl or not, he underestimated no one in the heat of battle.

She wasn't stupid. She fully expected him to try and get off his own attack. She simply didn't care.
She had grabbed him below the shoulder but a little further down then a few inches. Since he hadn't made a move to block, for all he'd know it could have been a hook coming at him, she would have grabbed juuusssst above his elbow, as it was the most readily available part.
Her thumb would dig painfully into the inside of the joint, her hand clamping around it in a death-like grip. Her thumb would grind harder into the joint, gouging into the pressure point found there. Two major arteries would be subject to the painful pressure, the third slightly above her grip might also be subject to discomfort.
That arm was unlikely to be bending up to grab her, especially as he had been reaching back to draw his sword. Arms simply didn't bend that way. However, if he insisted on it, she'd oblige him and the arm would either break or dislocate. His choice as it would be mostly his doing. She'd just help it along.
So, either his arm was trapped or broken now? Not that it really mattered. His arm wasn't her main interest.
He grabbed her left her left elbow, that was fine.
He went to headbutt her.
Even better.
Teira was petite, standing at 5ft 6''. Rys towered over her at 6ft 2''. So he had to bring his head down a ways to meet her forehead.
But as his face neared hers, her lips curled into a sadistic grin. Once he was well and committed to the move, her wrist, which was entirely unhindered by the grip on her elbow, even if he was replicating the her own pressure point tactics.... would rotate. So her hand was no longer positioned for a punch, but a stab. It would cause her pain, as his fingers would likely be digging further into her joint, partially due to her own movements.
She would shove the object in her hand through his right eye. The non bristled end of the TOOTHBRUSH would be stopped from going too deep to be fatal by her hand's own grip, as she destroyed the eyeball.
She had her leg inside his too.
Her right ankle and her calf hooked around the back of his left leg as she was still pushing forward.
A take down.
If he fell, she would land on his abdomen, using her weight and her legs to pin his upper torso--
