Ahem.
That simply could not be missed by anything with ears as it seemed to come from everywhere and yet no where at once.
You have all been marked for elimination...!
The voice broke the night.
That voice broke into her world, drawing her eyes downward as she tore her gaze from the moon. She didn't speak, didn't move. Just 'Look'. A glance at her FIGHTER revealed that it still wasn't working properly, like the signal was scrambled. But this armoured masked man was the only other one here besides them...
As he spoke, her eyes narrowed.
'Elimination?'
She continued to watch as he went through the almost ritualistic motions of bowing to the great gate, as if it were master and he the servant.

Formality was such key.
Come children, enough talk...lets make this worth the wait.
He said, his voice dancing forward like digitized silk across the ears.
Soon followed by his right boot stepping through wreckage as he walked straight toward the awaiting team without reservation or fear. Or more specifically, as he walked directly for Sunstrike. Humming, a barely audible tune, as if this was just a walk in the park.
Would these heroes remain Frozen? Or would this Hound of Hell face the Flame?
Formality--
It was the very thing that made her stare long and hard at the masked face. The way he was polite yet condescending and the way he commanded authority without yelling for it. That silent air of promised pain for those who stepped out of line...
... and that formal touch that accented everything.
It was so familiar.
So terribly familiar.
As he continued to talk, the feeling would only intensify. Nagging at her.
The enigmatic figure loomed towards Sunstrike and for the first time in the tournament, Teira felt the icy talons of fear clutch at her. She was afraid. Afraid for her friends...
Everything they had faced until now, paled in comparison.
Her eyes flickered as something dark moved behind them. Something primal that echoed the threat that rode the atmosphere, prickling along pale skin. That promise of pain sent a thrill through her body as her own desires unwound themselves, stretching through her body like a great cat stretching after awaking. A beast who hungered for blood--
The scent of blood wafted on the air.
Old blood, blood that had been spilled in some epic battle long past as lowly sinners crossed blades with holy men wielding righteousness.
The Innocent.
The Guilty.
The Just.
Such things vanished beneath a bright moon as all blood ran together in a great pool of death.
It was soaked into the stones.
The pain, the violence. The horrors of this place forgotten by the world, seeking to be revisited... crying for fresh blood even as the sky above them opened up and wept.
It kindled something within her.

Ah!
He said, holding his right hand, index finger raised into the air triumphantly. As if he had entirely missed the orders barked the whistle ripping across the air.
Formalities, formalities...there are rules to this engagement children.
He lowered his right hand down and reached it into the space beneath the metal gauntlet covering his left hand, pulling forth a white folded sheet of paper. And as if he hand all the time world he started to unfold it. He strummed the air with his loose hand.
Yadda yadda...mhmm..ah! Here we go.
He patted his chest, and stood rather formal as if about to make a great an announcement.
I am The Cerberus....how tacky...
He mumbled the last bit to himself, before waving it away with the free hand and speaking again.
In this round you will face me. I will choose one from among you to fight, though the others may aid him. If you are not willing to step forward now, you will not be able to do so later. There will be no Strikers here. For those who fight, there is only one way to the next round, through me. If you all fall by my hand, then it is I who will decide who among you will be able to compete. Be warned, A single red card will fail you as directly as I myself would...and that would be a waste...
Teira didn't know very many people. She knew even fewer close enough to be familiar with things such as mannerisms...
Most of those people were standing here with her. Her friends her teammates. That left--
' !! It can't be---'
-HoH- Judge Wrote:
I choose you...Sunny.
And forward he stepped, again on his steady walk toward the red headed god. Just seeming to ignoring the fact anyone else was even present, as if they were all beneath his notice.
BAM.
Just like that, doubt was further cast off as he addressed Sunstrike as 'Sunny'.
High above the battle ground, Teira had a decision to make. Could she fight her Nii-chan?
This was different from their training sessions back on the island. She knew that... This would be unlike anything she'd ever experienced in the corridor where they'd spent so many nights crossing blades.
She also knew-- that this wasn't something that any one of them could go alone. Not if he was being serious...
Ecks X Wrote:
"We're all in this."
She opened her mouth to speak, and closed it, not having to give herself away yet.
Ecks X Wrote:
"Just give the word."
Sunstrike Wrote:
"Sorry for the haste guys. Laz, Silver, if you find Teira, make sure she stays put. We can't go this far and not follow the rules just cause we don't like 'em."
'No.' She thought.
'We'll play by the rules--- but this isn't a fight you can win on your own, not in your condition, maybe not even in your best--'
She clenched her jaw as she took quick stock of her team. She needed to insure that at least one of them was whole, and that in the end, they could recover as effectively as possible for the next round. The punishment dished out in this place, would be BRUTAL.
''Sorry Silver--'
She could repair her shell afterwards and Laz could take more of a beating than Silver could. Sun she didn't have a choice on, her brother had picked him. If she'd had her way, he'd of been sitting this one out and recovering-- but the rest. The rest was up to her.
She'd made her decision.
-HoH- Judge Wrote:
He was disappointed.
It showed in an exasperated breath, that echoed forth from the hallows of the helm.
Its true, bystanders and words meant nothing to him. He responded to action. He recognized only those that took there destiny in there own hands. He was sent into this fight to eliminate many, but were they really only giving him one? No, they had to know that despite anything Sunstrike said the decision to enter was theres. And just because he pressed an engagement did not mean they hadnt the time to strike.
That staff came hard and strong. An average man would have been hard pressed to defend.
Is this it? Your all going to stand aside and let him play martyr?!
The helmet soared up, and off backwards into the night, dinging idly against the ground. And setting free navy blue locks, and a burning white glow igniting forth from a white right eye. Yes, Sun knew that face. He knew it well. He also knew, the grin that was plastered on it. And by now he knew that the combination of this face, and the voice he had heard not moments ago meant that his nightmares were now really.
In that heartbeat of a pause, in that moment of silent, shocking recognition. The still figure exploded into motion. His voice trailing his motions. A warm friendly voice, spoken like a man with far too much time on his hands, and not a worry in the world.
Even as Maximos tore the mask off, the thing which he had deemed as 'tacky' and discarded it on the ground, a smile broke onto her features. Silently she drew Madryn Thosi as she jumped off the pillar--
Maximos Wrote:
Ahh...familiarity..
His left hand shot up, snatching the rod, metal grinding against metal as the sharp grip of his left arm secured itself. Just enough to keep the thing at bay.
And forward he moved, his right foot leading to close the gap in one long step. One of the perks to being so tall. In a blur of black he would be upon the red hed. And his right, cursed arm was fly forward with all of its supernatural strength. Its aim was simple to grab the poor disheveled god around the face. Thumb and fingers around the cheeks, palm over the mouth and nose. Thin bladed fingers aiming to scrape the side of his face as it secured itself.
The Twilight Gauntlet could lift roughly a ton, but its goal was not to crush any skulls, but to secure Sunstrike, and hoist him a good foot off the ground in one shockingly fast swooping motion.
...the first myth of reality. What you know the best, you observe the least.
Do or Die. Now was the time to decide whether to stand beside the godling, or fall away in fear. The proverbial, last call.
Sunstrike Wrote:
Sun knew he didn't have a lot of options left, the only hope was that Teira wouldn't be tamed and that he was enough distraction to focus that hunger.
Maximos' call would be answered.
Sun's hope would be answered.
That elven stealth and grace that had caught Maximos off guard of so often. One minute there was nothing there, the next minute--
She landed between Max and Sun, her back to her teammate. On the way down, she had transferred her sword into her left hand, as she landed, the pommel of her sword would smash into the elbow joint of Max's right arm with all of her strength and aided by her momentum, her goal was to get him to let go of Sunstrike's face, hopefully not tear it off.
At the same time, her right arm hooked over her brother's shoulder and around his neck as she delivered a quick peck on the lips in greeting.
"Hello Nii-chan... Lets play, shall we?"
The smile that greeted him was different from his little sister's usual, happy to see her brother grin. This was a smile that was reserved for when they sparred.
She had no idea, that it wasn't -really- her nii-chan before her.
It was a tight fit, boxed in by a body at her front and back, and a staff and arm to her right. The twilight gauntlet to her left. But she was small, and hopefully, opening up the left side with her pommel smash.
Sunstrike Wrote:
The quarter staff smacked against the forearm horizontally and hauled Sun's frame upwards as he grabbed both ends, pulling his legs to himself. There was a popping sound as some of the less forgiving bandages ripped and probably a few of those careful stitches, as he straightened himself out to plant both legs hard, metal and flesh, into where the arm connected to the rest of the his opponents body.
Once connected, and if he wasn't dropped, and or planted into the ground, he'd start the tedious task of ripping his face out from that grip, opening rents where the knife like fingers had tried to be so careful as the man jerked backwards.
If Sun still performed this kick, Teira would be taking it to the shoulders and being roughly slammed again Maximos' body, hopefully further throwing him off balance as she'd hang on with the arm around his neck.
If Sun stopped himself, then she'd be standing there grinning. Forcing herself between them and trying to get Sun some breathing space. Her sword would be drawn back, between their bodies in a cross gaurd.
Either way, her voice would ring out clearly above the clatter and the sound of falling rain--
"Laz in. Silver Out."
