HEAVEN OR HELL BATTLEFIELD

A choice is made, made of free will

Just like the choice, the choice to kill

In the speed of a moment, life stands still

Now you're standing in my

KILLING FIELD

Terrain

General - The empty packed dirt area is marred with muddy puddles of dirty water dotting the rugged landscape, evidence of recent battles, the earth trampled beneath hundreds of soldiers. Discarded weapons, salvage, and wreckages have been removed for the safety of the competitors. In the distance is a shattered fortress, the only thing which marks the plain land.

Weapons - None.

Bonus Effects - None.

2-HoH- Judge

Bland. It was oh so very bland. A field recently used for battle, of trampled and scortched earth. Life no longer grew here, the plants were dead, and they would remain dead.

Upon the team's arrival, what evidence remained of the battle left on the plains would be nothing more than thousands of footprints engraved in the packed dirt and muddy puddles stained crimson with blood. If they looked close enough, a peculiar thing they would notice; all the footsteps appeared to head in the same direction. Following them only revealed that they ended in the same space.

A patch of earth unmarred by the footprints of many.

A field set for battle once again.

And the only ones to watch were the ghosts of the dead left in this battlefield, their marks creating a ring in the battlefield between the forces of Heaven or Hell. Can the phoenix set the dead free with new life? Or will it too fall to the fate of the unseen and unremembered?

3Ryugi Kazamaru

The sky was darkened by the darkness of blackened rainclouds floating above the battlefield. They were dark, foreboding, looking almost like grand gray testaments to all that had been accomplished thus far in the tournament. A silent wind seemed to blow across the arena, a chilled wind. It wasn't enough to make one cold, but it was enough to send a shiver down one's spine. This chill had a feeling, a sense to it. It was one of death and mourning. Terrible things had happened here at some point, and perhaps were about to once more...

The soft sound of boots on packed dirt was the only thing that broke the eerie calm of the field as the captain of Team Phoenix arrived on the scene. Ryugi's red eyes scanned what was to be the battlefield for his team's next match. Something didn't seem "right" about this place. The air smelled wrong, the dirt felt wrong. This wasn't simply a ring...this was a battlefield, a massacre seemingly waiting to happen.

Ryugi's neck itched.

He then continued to look around, waiting for the rest of his team to arrive. But who was their opposition? The FIGHTER hadn't specified before it broke down... Either way, Ryugi would give it his all, just like he had in all the fights before. And thats all he could ask of his team mates as well, wherever they were.

4HonoRaven

"No one told me this thing wasn't waterproof... I swear I didn't mean to break it Ryugi...!" smilies/icon_sweatdrop.gif Raven tried not to look guilty as she pointed to the fighter on her wrist, trying to explain that it had apparently malfunctioned.... without having to actually say that.

The red head was standing in a ring of her own sunshine as she met up with her captain, her wisp glowed valiantly above her, showing that the bleak terrain was not going to get her down!

Her red leather corset and matching leather pants almost made her look like she was covered in dried blood, as if she had painted it on before stepping out onto the field today. Her hair spilled down her back from a high ponytail, the black stripes matching the dagger sheaths strapped to the insides of her wrists, her sword strapped across her back, and her black fingerless gloves and sturdy Doc Marten boots. The red stripes in her hair looked more like fresh blood in the glow of the wisp today.

"So... who are we fighting?" smilies/icon_xp.gif She was doing her best to ignore the raised hairs on the back of her neck that usually signified ghosts or other ethereal beings close by. This place was almost more dreary than a hospital morgue....

5Eternal Dirge

" Who's bright Idea was it to fight in this place of ghosts?" Damion grumbled as he trudged his way towards his teammates, lifting both arms and waving them over his head. Atleast the demon machine stuck to his arm hadn't shocked him when it had broken, not even telling him who he was fighting. His bare feet were filthy from where he had stepped in a blood puddle and then through the dirt, but you couldn't tell on the dark pants he wore or the tunic, if it had reached up that far.

" This place is evil." He told them both upon arrival, ignoring any other greetings or anything of that sort, instead choosing to glare around them at the blood puddles, the footprints and more specifically the dead plants. While he could appreciate the aura it all gave off and the epic feel it gave the fight-to-be, he hated the vast amounts of death around him.

" And we shouldn't be here." Damion added.

6HonoRaven

smilies/icon_eek.gif "Ghosts? Like for real ghosts..." Apparently Raven couldn't see the apparitions.. or perhaps she was just totally in denial! "It is not all that bad... just needs some flowers a little sunlight and a well placed shrub..." Rae looked around at the desolate landscape and revised her opinion "or two...." smilies/icon_xp.gif

7Eternal Dirge

" You don't see them?" He asked, looking around again and wrinkling his nose," And I doubt it would take a flower to make this place better. Maybe a tree.....an..what are they called Ryugi? Oak tree's?" He asked, frowning before resuming his assessment," An oak tree....right there where the turmoil stops." He said, pointing. " Right where our opponent should be appearing." Damion said, nodding.

He wasn't stupid, atleast he didn't think he was, he knew what was going on here.

8HonoRaven

"Important thing to remember about Ghosts dear... they have more power over beings who believe in them..." She'd read that somewhere once, and after all her dealings with Karasu she wholeheartedly believed it, even if it hadn't really worked against the wind spirit smilies/icon_xp.gif

"Opponent? There will only be one? hey.. we can do that! One person.. all we have to do is wear them down and the round is in the bag!" smilies/icon_xd.gif that was a good idea...even if it was a little over optimistic... at least it would have worked against a regular opponent.

That was why Rae thought she had managed to hold her own against Dante in the last round...she gently gave Damion a little shove forwards with a big grin as she worked her hardest to lighten the mood and get the boys into more of a fun mindset. "You go first!" smilies/icon_whee.gif

9Eternal Dirge

" Yosh!" Damion said, hopping forward into a sumo like position, hands on his hips with a proud look on his face," I will defeat them, hoi!" He cried out to nothing, smacking his stomach with a thump despite the fact that no one else was there.

Of course, he wasn't afraid of the ghosts, he just didn't want to see them! Ugly little things and cold as frost when they walked through you!

10-HoH- Judge

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

The FIGHTERs sprung to life all of a sudden, an alarm ringing through the quiet field. The machine was far from broken, it simply was not able to decode the information sent to the combatants, as if a hacker had craked into the system and was transmitting data which should not have been there.

Upon glancing at the screen of the device, it would simply read:

Quote: Team Phoenix,

Prepare for elimination matches.

  • Signed, HYDRA

And in the distance, three heavily armored men, the judges designated for this match would move forward, each with a bundle of rope in their hands, each piece of rope connected to a cage behind them. And inside the cage, the monster which regrew two heads for each head cut down, the infamous hydra.

Or rather, someone in a very large set of robes which stood up so far back as if to appear as a creature that moved on four legs, covering the entire body and then some f whoever was underneath. Upon its upper section, an intricate mask - no, it was nothing like a mask - three intricate snaking heads, artistically carved, baring the image of the monster were formed to cover not only the head of the individual inside the cage, but also to stretch out a good three feet, presenting the image of an elongated neck, the heads ending at the tip of the carving.

11Eternal Dirge

" Mother of Sin but that thing is ugly..." Damion murmured, shuddering some. " Their armor is awesome looking though." He said, smiling after his shudder.

12Ryugi Kazamaru

-HoH- Judge Wrote:

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Ryugi glanced down at his FIGHTER as the machine beeped out an alarm, before glancing at the device and reading the message from their eliminator. No wonder Ryugi had felt a nasty feeling in his gut... His eyes narrowed and he gripped the handle of Ragnarok, speaking to Damion.

Damion...

Quit gawking and get yourself ready. This won't be like any of the other matches we've faced thus far. It will be far more difficult... Rae, get ready as well.

Forcing himself to relax a bit and examine the situation, Ryugi watched the unspeakable horror of a man, or beast, or man-beast approach...

13Eternal Dirge

" Ah....but it was so much fun..." Damion said, kicking a stone before flipping his shield around from his back, pulling one sword out," So...uh....how we doin' this? One at a time? All of us at once? What?" He asked curiously, having read over the rules but still not clear on it. " And is that thing seriously a Hydra?"

Oh the many questions he enjoyed.

14-HoH- Judge

The three judges ignored the prattle of the fighters called to this location and simply got to work as soon as the cage was carted into the arena. Busy busy, always busy, they stripped away the binds in the front of the cage, letting the front wall of the structure tip over and slam against the scortched earth.

It stepped out, dragging the cloak along as it shambled forward, stopping once its entirety was away from the cage.

"I hereby declare this an elimination match against Team Phoenix," the muffled voice resounded, "The rules are as follows:

"All match rules applicable to Heaven or Hell are in effect, with the exception to red cards. Any competitor who earns a red card is automatically disqualified from the elimination round.

"The team may declare any number of members to fight the Eliminator, with the minimum being one that the Eliminator decides. Once a team has chosen the designated members to enter combat, other members of the team not involved in the fight may not interfere. Striker assists are barred.

"Any member of a team defeated by an eliminator will be barred from competing in the semi-final matches. However, even if all their team members are defeated by the Eliminator, they will be allotted members to compete in the semi-finals. Members alloted to compete will be decided on by the judges located here in this field.

"Due to the fact that there are five teams advancing into the semi-finals, the fights will be graded and the lowest scoring team will be eliminated. If a team manages to defeat an eliminator, they are exempted from this rule and will automatically advance to the semi-finals.

"Thus, the team does not have to knock out the Eliminator to advance, nor does being knocked out by the Eliminator mean that they will not advance."

Like a robot, the speach was given, outlining the rules and circumstances of the bonus round.

"You who wish to involve yourself in this round, step forward."

There it was, the choice given to the team to step up and fight for their right to the semi-finals match. Would they send their entire team against the lone figure, or did they believe themselves good enough to defeat the eliminator singlehandedly without the help of the other members of their team? No matter their choice, if none stepped forward, the eliminator would choose a member for them.

15Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi would step forward with his two other team mates, and look to each one. He'd glance quickly into each one of their eyes, a look of determination and trust. H knew he could count on Damion and Rae to give this their all. And they would know from the look in his eyes that he, too, would put everything he had into this. They'd come too far to be stopped without a fight.

Even if they were eliminated, they wouldn't go quietly into the night. They'd go out with a bang. Ryugi would look back to the figure calling himself Hydra, and speak a reply.

We three members of Team Phoenix, Captain Ryugi Kazamaru,

Damion Hedley, and Rae step forward to meet your challenge...

Ryugi's voice was strong and determined even as his team stared down the terrible form of the eliminator. They'd fought as separate entities to defeat their opponents. But now, they would fight for the first time as a team to accomplish their goals. Would they rise to Heaven? Or would the burning light of Phoenix finally fall short of their goal? Only time, and one hell of a fight would tell...

16-HoH- Judge

"Three?"

There was a moment of pause as the eliminator simply stood there, unmoving. However, the eliminator did not hold back from replying right away to take in the information and form a strategy to fight the three members of Team Phoenix, nor was the eliminator caught in a state of shock by their decision to put all three in the line of danger.

"Hahahahahaha! You guys are that WEAK?"

He was busy trying to hold back his laughter until he couldn't do it anymore, breaking out in hysteric laughter and running his mouth.

"What's wrong? You guy's SCURR'D!?"

17Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi ignored the laughter of the eliminator. They'd either win as a team, or lose as a team. It was as simple as that in his own mind. He'd continue to watch the laughing figure but speak to Damion and Rae in hushed tones.

You two, stick together. Maximize your strengths and minimize your weaknesses. We'll do this together...

That said, Ryugi would start walking towards the laughing eliminator, alert, ready, watching, and wary. His right hand rested on Ragnarok at his shoulder, his steps were even and loose.

Fear is a matter of perception, Hydra... Yours is quite skewed...

Closer he would walk, farther away from Damion and Rae. What was Ryugi planning?

18Eternal Dirge

" Scurrred like your momma!" Damion shot back at the....well whatever it was under the cloaky thing. He did, however, listen to Ryugi, moving infront of Rae slowly and keeping his shield infront of him, activating one of the first abilities

Quote: Stop hitting yourself! : The already mirror-like sheen of Damion's shield becomes even more reflective, allowing for the reflection of one physical attack, or 3 energy attacks per fight, reflecting the attack back at the opponent, with a chance for dodging of course.

and settling into stance with the shield infront, sword poised behind it and only the portion from his eyes up visible above the shield and his knees down below it.

He would give it his all to protect Rae, even if it cost him his life.

19Fools-The-Reaper

On the outskirts of this wasteland of a battlefield, Matthew Rice stood, having followed Rae here to offer her his morale support. He knew all he could do was observe, but after what he heard being said between the Eliminator and Team Phoenix, he reached into his bag, and produced a sign that would be painfully obvious to anyone watching this battle on DVD at home.

20HonoRaven

Raven laughed to herself as their opponent tried to start out by playing head games... her brow crinkled up and she squinted slightly as her shoulders shook with silent laughter.

This was a team game after all... time to show everyone what teamwork was all about! She stuck mostly behind Damion, slightly to his left so that she could see past him and yet keep the direct line of sight between herself and Hydra obscured.

The clouds overhead started to slowly swirl and the wind down on the battlefield picked up, blowing steadily from behind Rae towards Hydra.

21Kraun

Man, ******** this thing. It's in the way.

Did they actually think he was an imbecile that would be giggling to himself the entire time until he collapsed when there was a fight just ready to begin? Hell no, they retarded or something?

He swung his head back and forth, like a dog shaking off water while Team Phoenix discussed their plan, shaking the large ornament covering his head until it popped off his head. As for the cloak, it was still there, hiding his limbs. Oh fun, wonder what's underneath?

Black hair standing up on its ends covered his head, a black feather decorating the space above his right ear. Nothing below his upper lip was visible with a large plate of metal over it, but it was not hard to see the corner of his lips bent upwards in a wicked grin. Across his face, over his nose was a strip of metal, a simple brace which framed his face and went over the crest of his nose. His left eye was a pit of darkness, his right eye however, was a feral bright emerald green, the iris slitted vertical.

The wild animal, Tzenidaar, was let out of a cage. Both figuratively and literally.

Oh good, they got close and stayed together. Tightly packed groups were always much easier to attack than scattered individuals who spread out, where you'd have to go and attack each person individually to pick them off one by one. This made his job easier, or rather, more efficient.

It also didnt surprise him that the team of three people didnt make an attack at all even when they had strength in numbers, since they were WEAK. WEAK. WEAK.

Well, good for them, that gave the chimera initiative on attack. Just the way he liked it.

Just like a year ago at the last Heaven or Hell tournament against Owle isohos and Athan Cole, a general attack on a group was always the best way to start things off. As the captain of the other team started to pace forward, all cautious and stuff, Tzenidaar would step out quickly, crossing one foot in front of the other as he pivoted, spinning around in a quick full circle as his arms beneath the cloak swung outwards, pulling the giant slab of metal he called a weapon into the air.

In only one three hundred and sixty degree swing, maximum velocity was achieved, and he'd let the weapon rip through the air just as Ryugi took his fifth step away from the rest of his team.

Good thing he was walking straight forward, kept him in the line of attack. The six-foot long, seventy-five pound weapon would tear through the air spinning around parallel to the ground, a wide horizontal long ranged attack meant to tear straight into team Phoenix. And they were lined right up for it.

The weapon itself was meant for one thing, destruction. It's sheer mass and size, coupled with its velocity and augmented striking power made it something extremely difficult to block, since it had been designed with the potential to tear through heavy plating.

Not only that, following up on the blade's throw, the chimera bolted forward, following after the flying blade, the cloak peeling open behind him as air kicked out from beneath it with every step, propelling him straight towards the other team quickly.

22Ryugi Kazamaru

((Post order was decided as "Hydra", Ryugi, Damion, Rae.))

****** that st. It only took Ryugi a split second to recognize that ugly b***d's mug. It was the same b***d that had mutilated Silver in last year's Heaven or Hell in the Clocktower. Playing nice just wasn't going to work this time. Ryugi would have to talk in a language the man-beast understood.

With a serious a**-kicking.

As Tzenidaar gripped and spun his massive weapon around, Ryugi would pull Ragnarok free from his back and with a burst of speed would leap to the side and charge directly by the spinning weapon, his boots tearing powerfully into the packed dirt below his feet.

Damion!!

Damion should know instinctively exactly what Ryugi's calling of his name would mean. Even as Ryugi tore away from his other two team mates to meet Tzenidaar head on, his red eyes burned fiercely, his adrenaline pumping and charging his body with strength, speed, and an increased sense of his surroundings.

Tzenidaar would soon have the full force of Ryugi and Ragnarok bearing down upon his body as a thunderous slash powerful enough to cleave someone in half was sent directly towards the chimera's middle abdomen, with a swing from left to right. Ragnarok glowed brightly as the slash left the blade, aimed directly at the beast. Fair was fair, wasn't it?

Quote: Vorpal Slash – Ragnarok releases a superheated slash of energy that cuts the air in twain as it moves. The blade is capable of cutting through heavy defenses and armor for moderate damage to the target inside. If used against an unarmored opponent it can heavily damage an opponent, if not be fatal. Luckily, the attack is easy to dodge, being a single slash, unless used at close range where the high speed of the attack is put to its highest effectiveness. Named in honor of a blade said to destroy a powerful and formidable beast.

Like the taste of that? Come get some more!

23Eternal Dirge

" Huh What?" The islander piped up, lifting his head only slightly from behind his shield before nodding. He was either playing around, or he didn't understand the gravity of their situation, or both. Probably both. His bare feet kicked up a sudden clod of dirt as he about faced in a hurry, grabbing Rae's arm with that shielded left hand in an awekward grip before yanking her to the right, getting them both out of the way of that monstrosity of a weapon.

Big weapons like that tended to make mince meat of things, being a giant cleaver and all, and it was going to be hard holding any semblance of stance with this one. He didn't feel like yelling Rae's name and giving away who was attacking next, so instead he just pivoted on his heel, hoping that the damn Cleaver wasn't enchanted to boomerang around, and turned back to facing the two, now knowing who their eliminator was.

24HonoRaven

Rae almost lost her concentration as Damion yanked her the other direction, blinking a couple of times as she finally recognised their opponent... The guy who was trying to beat up Kas after the finals last year!...that sucks... Well there was no way she was gona get in close to him now, she wasn't up to the beating Kas had taken back then.

"Move...!" Raven grabbed onto Damion and dragged him a few feet further back before she unleashed the wind storm she had been gathering in the clouds overhead. This separated them from their captain even more, but he could take care of himself.

The wind roared all around them as a funnel cloud snaked down from the sky and touched down on the ground where the pair had been standing when Ryugi had shouted to Damion. It wasn't very big at the base, only about 5 feet in diameter, but it had enough power behind it to suck up clods of dirt as Rae tried to focus on pushing the lumbering giant towards their opponent, making little shooing motions with her left hand and squinting as she kept her eyes on her Tornado.

If they were lucky it would suck up that huge blade of his, then it would have something a lot more dangerous than rocks and dirt to toss about...

25Kraun

((I dont care about OOC losing points, since I dont get graded anyway, and I'm only using this thread at the moment since I dont want to write anything in the spectator's lounge which will get lost. Nor do I believe Team Phoenix should lose points for replying due to the same reasons.

I would like to request a clarification on the actions taken, positions, and distance of the members of Team Phoenix in relation to each other and Tzenidaar as of this time. I also would like to know with which hand Ryugi is holding his sword with, left right, or both, as well as whether he is initiating a long ranged attack or a melee attack, and also whether or not he stopped to make a swing or was still running forward while swinging.

In addition, I would like to request additional detail be added in any future actions taken so that I may have a better understanding and gauge of positioning and body movements of opponents, so I will not have to waste time and ask the same question over and over again.))

26Eternal Dirge

((As far as me an Hono are concerned, Damion grabbed her and moved to the left away from the giant spinning Cleaver of death, and then Hono pulled them away further so that she could drop a whirlwind of some sort between us and Ryugi and Tzen. Ryugi can explain what he's doing. so....in other words Ryugi is closest, with me and hono being back and to Tzen's Right if he's facing us. is that better?

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e51/wolftheoutlaw/AsIunderstandit.jpg I think this is how it is....and I fixed it you wankers))

27Ryugi Kazamaru

((Ryugi is at a distance that could be considered close range, bordering on medium range. If you need a solid distance, I would guess approximately 7 feet. He did not stop moving to use his Vorpal Slash. The Vorpal Slash, then, is coming at Tzenidaar from approximately 7 feet away with Ryugi swinging from left to right. At the moment the Vorpal Slash was released, Ryugi was holding Ragnarok with two hands. However, depending on how Tzenidaar reacts to Ryugi's strike, that may change. I am assuming, then, that the scale of Dirge's diagram is within a distance of 50-60 feet.

So, Damion and Rae would possibly be about 40 feet behind Ryugi, and to Ryugi's left. Tzenidaar would be about 7-8 feet in front of Ryugi, and to Ryugi's left. However, it should be noted that Ryugi would be facing Tzenidaar when his attack was unleashed, and heading in towards him. The diagram then shows that Hono's wind attack would be roughly in the middle and between the two pairs, and obviously heading towards Tzenidaar and Ryugi's position. Hopefully that clarifies the positioning, and the means of our attacks.))

28Kraun

A seventy-five pound giant metal blade whirling through the air wouldn't be too easy for such a windstorm to pick up. As such, it'd shred right through the magical funnel, in one way, out the other like nobody's business with all the inertia and momentum put into it beforehand. At least those two other people moved off to the side instead of just relying on some magic to stop it.

"Hey you ****** guy," well, that would be Damion's name from now on, "Don't go running away after you talk smack." Man, did st like that really annoy him. He should have come in close and got into a real fight instead of standing on the sidelines jeering.

This is one of those useless skills the chimera had developed; the ability to talk smack to someone while fighting someone else entirely without losing focus. Hell, thats why he had that gorget most of the time. It prevented people from cracking him in the jaw and knocking him unconscious while he was busy running his mouth the entire time. His main focus of course, was Ryugi, who came right up to him, only catching some smaller motion of his teammates out the corner of his eye without really taking a good long look.

As for Ryugi, his actions were so plain and obvious to anyone watching, all running up and s**t, getting his panties in a bunch after 'playing it cool' didn't work so well. "Lololololol, you mad." What the hell did 'lololololol' mean? Its something people write, not say. Who even says that? It made little to no sense. What the hell? What an idiot.

Anyways, his attack.

Running up would either naturally put a 'drag' on his big sword it it was following his forward movement, or he would have to slip his arm back just before he swung. Not only that, but his attack was so obvious, a lame man could probably avoid it. Either way, his swing would be nice and wide, no matter how powerful it was, it could be likened to a haymaker; extremely fast, extremely powerful, but had a clearly distinguishable initiation and 'wind-up', most people would see it coming easily, and the strain and power put into throwing such an attack made it into something that a body couldnt redirect into something else once the motion was made and commited.

Well, nice of him to come in nice and close, right within striking distance of the chimera. It wasnt hard to figure out what he was trying to do, since he already had a wind-up underway (weapon drag from charging or putting it into position), and his big sword which gave him somewhere over a six foot reach started glowing, so...

Up we go. Tzenidaar took a good measure of the angle of the blade against the ground before he jumped, just as Ryugi prepared to swing his sword. Why? Because this was a measurement of the swing angle, it let him anticipate the height and motion of the swing beforehand. In this case, a wide horizontal swing; the blade parallel to the ground.

The energy wave and blade would whiz by underneath him as he tucked his knees up close to his body as he leaped over it, big cloak billowing around his form underneath to keep it nice and hidden from Ryugi's vision so he wouldnt know what the hell he may do.

He didnt jump very high, just enough to clear the finely focussed energy wave and blade along with the outstretched arm, with four inches to spare, still moving forward due to the inertia he had already developed from charging forward initially. And just as he did so, he'd release a burst of air behind himself, propelling him straight towards the man over his weapon and arms even as he continued to swing his sword and move forward, following up on the motion of the weapon which struck nothing and carrying the full force of momentum he'd put into it.

Air. It was the power taken from the demi-god(?), Hugin. Another participant of this year's Heaven or Hell, under the guise of Evan White. The conditions of use were very simple; an emotional manifestation of elation and hightened morale. In this case, the fact that en entire team chose to fight him gave him the impression that they were WEAK. Thus, as indication, his right eye blazed a brilliant green.

It was a good thing that cloak was there, in the way, all up in Ryugi's face as Tzenidaar flew up into the air and Ryugi was going along with his missed swing as wel as continueing to move forward with his face right into the billowing thing. Because it'd block his vision for what was to come.

Hey, y'know those skeletal wings Tzenidaar had growing out his upper back? They didnt have any membranes between the bones, but with an activation of a power, they're form one very fitting according to the situation. In this case, where he used air, sheets of air would be super condense into solid membranes, stretched taut over the appendage's frame, their edges like a razor blade.

So as the chimera flew forward over the blade's swing, He'd let his wings drag through the air, their tips slighly below him off to the side as he'd pass by Ryugi. He took into account several factors; one, the way Ryugi moved his feet, distance of steps, timing between steps, just minor things. Two, the level of height of his head. Three, the follow-through motion of the missed sword swing. With these three factors combined, it gave him a good measurement of Ryugi's movements as he passed by against his left side where he initiated his swing from. His feet limited his body's movements, the pace put on them by the rhythm of his steps left split seconds between the ability to shift his weight. The height of his head was measured so that he'd have a further understanding of the location of his target. And the momentum and movement of the swing was added into the calculation as to measure any varying factors which would cause his head and upper body to move in any direction away from him, any 'sudden dodge' stumbles.

His left wing, hanging down and sticking just slightly out would be positioned for it's end to be level and across the center of Ryugi's head, where the eyes are located for anyone taking art classes and know the proper positioning of someone's eyes. He'd pass by - cant say overhead since he wasnt all that high - on his left side over the initial motion of the swing as it allowed him little to no time to adjust it, the appendage rigid, the heavy cloak all up in Ryugi's face. Simply put, he slashed at his opponent's head as he passed by while blinding him with the cloak just being there. It was sharp, yes, and though he didnt put his body and limb into a swinging motion to give it power, he had built up forward momentum as well a burst of force to shoot him through the air forward faster, in addition to Ryugi's continual forward movement, it would simply bring his fance and the chimera's 'air blade' together faster.

His right wing however, would not stick out off to the side, since there was nothing on the chimera's right side anyway, so it would be positioned underneath himself, hanging down, at a small angle as it to cut into the man's shoulder is he didnt not turn his entire body into the swing of his sword.

It was sort of like, firing a cannon with a sword chained behind it. The cannonball might miss, by the sword passing by would still carry the force of the cannonball's movement.

Taste of what? Flesh? Yeah, he'll cannabalize him given the chance.

29Ryugi Kazamaru

Like hell Ryugi was going to "stand there" and let those wings do any damage. Ryugi already knew what Tzenidaar had on his body. He'd seen the bony wings pierce his former captain, and friend, in last year's Heaven or Hell. The cloak might have fooled someone who hadn't seen anything of Tzenidaar, but it wasn't going to fool Ryugi. Not for a second.

Tzenidaar jumped, and immediately Ryugi's brain shot into action. He knew Tzenidaar was animalistic, and that he was brutal. So, what would the beast do? Ryugi knew instinctively. He would avoid, and strike as brutally as possible. And Ryugi'd be a dumb a** if he allowed himself to stand around and accept such a strike. Tzenidaar could claim whatever he wanted, but he was just a pretender. Tzenidaar called himself a beast.

Ryugi was one.

The moment Tzenidaar left the ground, and Ragnarok sped off to Ryugi's right side, Ryugi let off a powerful burst of his own, his form blurring slightly, energy being blasted out to his left side, sending him careening out of the way of the strikes. The wing meant for his shoulder hit nothing but air, as the one meant for his head would hit harmlessly against Ryugi's shinguard, leaving a fine line where the metal had been warped by the wind power.

Quote: Lightspeed Dash – Despite the name, Ryugi does not move at light speed. This technique allows Ryugi to boost in a direction for better evasion and speed. Each boosting action drains a small bit of stamina from Ryugi varying on how long the boost is maintained.

The end result would bring Ryugi skidding around on both feet to face Tzenidaar once more, but now about six feet away. Ragnarok was held out to his right side in his right hand only, its momentum having added to the movement of Ryugi's body, and having bled off, and his right hand lifting to face the abomination unto the world, palm out and already facing towards the "beast" to unleash some brutality of its own.

Quote: Attack List and Specials

While these are the most commonly used attacks by Ryugi, he may use his fire or light energy to create improvised attacks with his abilities for different situations. Improvised moves can rate in strength from a simple flash of heat or light, to a powerful, driving explosive punch on equal standing with his Supernova Attack in energy consumption. The manifestation of these attacks will vary in execution, and all will have an equivalent stamina drain to accompany them.

Note: All attacks can be made more powerful by adding more energy to them, but at a larger stamina drain on Ryugi's person.

Searing coils of light energy erupted down Ryugi's left hand and shot towards Tzenidaar's position. The beam-like blast would be hot enough to sear flesh, and cause severe burns across the target. The attack also had thunderous striking force, and would be akin to someone getting hit by a car, going at a speed that wouldn't quite kill you, but fast enough that it'd totally ruin your plans for the next few months.

Obviously pesky opponents could move, and Ryugi, having been in several fights by now, would simply move his palm to aim the attack wherever the target might flee to. Due to the distances involved, Damion and Rae would be perfectly fine, and out of range of the attack Ryugi would unleash, which would allow them to do as they pleased to combat the chimera on their own terms.

Dinner was canceled.

30Eternal Dirge

Damion watched with much trepidation, his heart constricting in his chest as he watched the two mix it up in close range. While he hadn't ever seen Tzenidaar in person, he had watched tapes from the last years HoH and had come to nearly Idolize the Chimera for his brutal style and all out strength. He couldn't stop the pang of admiration, but at the same time the overbearing desire to run up and help Ryugi helped him to ignore it.

" b*****d....." He murmured, making sure to remain infront of Rae, knowing his job in all of this. It still didn't sit well in his stomach but it was for the best. These two were on a different plane entirely from him, hell even the woman behind him was! The man could only hope to not die if it came down to him fighting the flying monstrosity. Speaking of....where was that Cleaver going?

31HonoRaven

Bloody Hell... Raven winced and gritted her teeth as the blade sliced through her wind storm, making the funnel jump and skip around for a few seconds before she managed to get it back under control, and it steadily started moving back towards Ryugi and Hydra eating up the space at about 3 feet per second.

The windstrom had skipped to her left by about 15 feet when it lost it's connection to the ground, so it was now more off to the side of the two battling it out.

Sweat beaded on her brow as she forced the storm closer in towards Ryugi and Hydra, by now the Chimera would find that the wind sheers rolling around the tornado would be making his magical flight a lot more difficult as the wind tossed its bits of dirt and stones all over the place.

32Kraun

His sword? Probably skidding through dirt of something, off wherever it had landed.

"Tch..."

Team Phoenix's captain came to him for a fight, and then he ran off all of a sudden. What a ******** tease. This didnt make Tzenidaar happy. In fact, coupled with the annoyance of the other other two members of the team which hung back and didnt fight, the fact that the last member would do the same was unforgivable. A team which spends all their time running around. How the hell was he going to get some action if they avoided him the entire time?

It made his blood boil.

His green eye began developing fleckles of crimson which began to grow with his frustration and anger. Oh hey, was it Christmas time again?

His teeth gritted together as he extended his legs, clearing the man's body after the jump so that his feet would obviously land first and he wouldn't be in some kind of kneeling position or stepping on the front of the cloak, trying to regain his balance after landing. And completing the motion, his legs would bend as the rest of his body's weight came down to rest on the ground, steadying himself in the process.

He still had forward momentum going for him; previously charging forward, leaping into the air, boosting himself even faster. So it was natural that even as his legs bent on impact, his body was still moving ahead, torso tipping forward as his powerful legs would spring outwards, launching him back into a dash straight ahead, a boost of air propeling him forwards with each step.

Why should he deal with a man who could instantly remove his own body's forward momentum and blast himself away with some kind of super speed, dive and flip around in midair so that his legs were where his head use to be, but had no continuous inertia with such a speed even after stopping with a distance of roughtly six feet from where the chimera had been when there were two other fighters which were right there waiting for him? He simply continued to move forward, diverting himself just slightly to his right to face those other members of Team Phoenix, using an air boost with every few steps to keep a constant rush going.

Energy blasts again? Thats okay, he didnt care too much about them, or was really focussed enough to notice them too much since he wasnt looking a the man, y'know, passing him by to keep going forward. Ryugi must have forgotten the fact that the chimera's body was so highly saturated with negative energy, it acted like a small conduit that simply cancelled out positive energy on cantact, thus why magical healing has no effect on him at all, no matter the amount; thus breaking down one half of the energy beam. Ever wonder why there would be ghosts here, called out by the negative energy both in a recent battlefield and a man saturated in it, maybe?

As for the heat properties, normally his innate fire resistance would protect him from any serious burns and leave minor scald marks on his skin, but with the anger pumped into his emotions of a team which runs away, his body would start eating up the heat even as it burned holes into the heavy cloak, result's of Siat and Vahn Fah's bloodline.

He'd probably follow up after him shortly though.

So, back to business; some hippy tornado was not going to stop him so easily. It's pulling winds only seemed to attract him more easily, yanking at the cloak as well as the surface of his 'wings'. He didnt care so much about the tattered cloak and let it fly off into the whirlwind, yanking off. As for his artificial wings, he wasnt flying anywhere anytime soon anyway, unless he had to chase after these two somehow in some kind of aerial dogfight. Those membranes were simply not needed at the moment.

Dirt and pebbles, he hardly cared about that s**t, he'd charge right into the twister, turning his body into it as his stance lowered, dropping his center of gravity. It might have been surprising that he wasnt lifted up, but that was because he cut at the swirling winds when he turned his body into the storm, using his pressure cutter against the oncoming winds, splitting them away from his body to create a small 'safe' pocket, or more of a wedge which directed the wind around him while he moved through it. The only problem with this however, was that he slowed down a bit to break through the twister.

But even as he burst out the other side in a b-line towards the other two members of Team Phoenix, his limbs were covered in swirling masses of air, as if he'd taken miniature tornados and attached them to his arms and legs.

"You aint running this time." He hissed through a sneer as he went for a basic shoulder butt, putting his left armoured shoulder forward as his body lowered and he pushed out with his legs towards the two.

Oh, and that brings up the question of his appearance, since he was no longer covered by that cloak. He wore some simple brown pants, and a form fitting black shirt with one sleeve over his left arm. Pieces of heavy plate armour decorated his left arm, neck, groin, hips, butt, and legs from the knees down. His appearance itself; feral. His hair seemed to stand on end, his fingers ending in sharp points like claws, his teeth, what visible, were pointed. The animal had been let out of a cage after all, was it not expected?

33Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi was taken aback for a moment as his blast had seemingly been nullified by some unseen magical force. How could Ryugi know this? He felt his own energy be dispersed by a greater and more powerful anti-force. Thus, he was able to cancel SOME of the attack, and save himself a little stamina. But cutting some of the losses to his stamina buffer wouldn't do anything immediate to help his two team mates. Thus, Ryugi would do everything he could to bolster his attack power.

Where the hell do you think you're going!?

Ragnarok glowed with energy as Ryugi's body did the same, soft streamers of energy flowing up from his feet and over his body. Anyone that could feel magical energies would feel a mighty spike in energy, speeding directly towards Rae, Damion, and especially Tzenidaar...

Quote: Shining Sword

This ability gets its name from Ragnarok's glowing status while undergoing it. When in this form, Ryugi can get a slight boost in his stats as long as Ragnarok is within his grip, as Ragnarok uses its own energy to assist Ryugi in battle. The boost is roughly a 50% increase to Ryugi's stats.

Everything Ryugi had going for him would gain a fifty percent increase. His speed, his ease of lifting heavy objects, his natural resistances and defenses, his senses, and even his stamina. His stamina boost would allow for the use of stronger energy based attacks as well, as his body could handle the greater drain with more ease. If Ryugi wouldn't have been a fair match for Tzenidaar before, he most certainly was more than enough now...

Running off like a scared little puppy...

Ryugi's feet tore into the ground as he chased furiously after the chimera, Ragnarok held firmly in his right hand, the sword's sentient spirit energizing his body with abilities far more than his norm. As he neared Tzenidaar's back, Ryugi would lash out with Ragnarok, aiming to cleave the s**t out of the chimera's bony wings, and even his middle back. Ryugi's boosted stats would allow him to wield Ragnarok with the power to easily rend through dragon scales, bone, and flesh. The boosted strength and speed would combine to increase the speed and power of his sword strikes, making him even more deadly.

Show me what you're made of, "Eliminator"!

The attack would be with both hands, the right on top, the left below, torso moving to assist in the power of the strike. Each hand gripped the blade powerfully as it moved from right to left, attempting to taste flesh. Ryugi's forward leg would plant to assist in the motion of his blade even further, and practically stop his forward momentum, the knee slightly bent to absorb the forces at work, while his right leg would hang back for stabilization, the knee bent further. Tzenidaar had wanted a fight, and now one was literally knocking at his back door. Well, cleaving through it. But the concept was the same. Ryugi was here for a good fight, and he wasn't going to let someone called an "Eliminator" slip through his fingers without him getting so much as a scratch on him.

It just wouldn't be as..."fun" that way.

34Eternal Dirge

Finally! Gods, as much as he loved Rae's company and all, he was getting alittle bored! Damion's face broke into a wide grin, perhaps a bit premature, as Tzenidaar burst through the whirlwind like a bat outta hell. " You're right you ugly sonuva'b***h." He said, running the last part together as he moved in to meet the man-thing's charge.

His shield remained infront of him as he moved forward in an odd sideways movement, letting the armored shoulder crash into it and impact inwards, his arm going somewhat limp at the shoulder to act like a spring, minus the boing. The sword in his right hand would come stabbing around, moving in an almost snakelike pattern to go straight for the kidney's of his now upclose and personal opponent.

"Urgk!"

Damion would grunt as his feet started to slide, bare feet pushing up a mound of dirt as he put all of his weight in an even balance on both legs. Shield? Blocking that armored left arm.....edit that, blocking that attack. And since it was such, special fun time! As the HYDRA's charge was ultimately blocked, a very familiar image would appear facing him(meaning Tzen), a ghostly image of himself in that same charging position, aiming right for him at the same speed he had gone, with the same look and everything. The ghost-Tzen's shoulder was aimed for the real ones chest, left shoulder leading of course. What made it different from Ryugi's attack? It wasn't positive nor was it negative energy. More like the force honestly.

35HonoRaven

Oh that just made her blood boil... what kind of idiot charges right through a bloody Tornado? Honestly... it was just one of the macho stupid things that Raven had come to expect out of people who thought they were invincible... the thing was, normally they were not quite as invincible as they thought!

She wasn't going to run this time, way too much running already throughout this game for her tastes. Damion moved away and knowing him she had a fairly good idea of what he planned on doing... and she thought it was just as stupid as the monster of a man charging through her twister!

"Clash of the Titans? More like the running of the bulls..." It was all happening so fast.. there was hardly time to hear Ryugi yelling at Tzen to come back and fight him as Damion charged in with his sword...

Rae cast another spell, this time on Damion, hoping he would get rid of it before it blew up on him... an arc of lightning flashed from her right hand to Damion's drawn sword, the electricity dancing along the metal in 50'000 Volts of white heat as her Electric Wire spell attached itself!

The wind storm jumped and snaked along the ground behind the Chimera as Rae took her concentration off of it for the moment, the force of nature apparently didn't feel like just disappearing yet, it still had a lot of fury to work out as it ripped chunks of earth and larger rocks out of the ground, quickly working on becoming an F3 or F4 sized monster. The only good point was that there was not much for the Tornado to destroy out here.. besides the 4 combatants, that is....

36Kraun

((Waiting on Ryugi to edit in detail;

Hand(s) holding the weapon? Direction of swing? Planting the feet to a stop into the swing or still running while making the swing?

Stuff like that. 'Cause I dont want to assume things.))

37Kraun

Guess what kids? Its learning hour with Doctor Seppuku. Yaaaaaaaaaay!

While Ryugi took a moment to realise his attack was being eating, and then called it back after it was partially eaten, Tzenidaar was constantly on the move, with his back to the man, since like, that's what their positioning was at the time. Each boost compounded the speed of which he had been moving forward, his feet not touching the ground often enough to create enough friction to slow him down, thus, he only moved faster and faster with each step.

So, theres a twister moving at three feet per second towards him, in addition to whatever it had already moved; while he himself was moving at a constant growing speed forward, with somewhere below fourty feet between them (the twister and the chimera), since fifty feet would be the distance between Damion and Rae in relation the Tzenidaar previously, and the tornado was slowly moving forward beforehand anyway before it built up that kind of speed. Let's say he'd reach the twister in three seconds or so; The twister having moved about ten feet forward, cutting down distance to thirty feet, in addition to Tzenidaar moving forward at upwards past ten feet per second with the boosts in addition to his previously built forward momentum. Well, that made sense. In fact, it'd probably be closer to being two seconds, or just in between two or three seconds.

And what was Ryugi doing during that time?

Being taken aback for a moment, calling back his attack, talking to himself or whatever ('cause Tzenidaar wasnt listening to him at the time), and powering up before he began to super-speed his way to him.

This was enough time to get to the twister right?

And what did he do when he got to the twister?

Turn into it, and slow down nearly to a halt as a result as he planted his feet to turn, 'cause he was going to cut through the winds in order to get through, and he had to actively push against it, thus why he would turn into it.

And this turning motion would change his field of vision.

Kraun Wrote:

He'd probably follow up after him shortly though.

So it was time to check on him, and he'd do it with minimal effort, since he was already turning. And just as he guessed, he was correct.

And here he came, swinging his sword around again, all magical and powered up.

Haha! Backstabbing. The cowards attack. It seemed to fit him perfectly.

Another horizontal swing. Well, he was already in the process of lowering his body, so he might as well go all the way, his legs bending as he went into a squat, his torso bending forward as he ducked the passing blade which swept across the air nearly parallel to his back.

Well, he could have his wings. They stuck out and all that. And being hollow bone and all, they'd break pretty easily to a super power, super fast slash. In fact, they didnt have any real solid base, since they were attached only to his back with nothing else to support it. So they'd shatter, cause thats what bones do.

"b***h." Oh, he was SUPER mad now. See, he can use SUPER to describe something about himself too. The red fleckles in his eye just got a lot bigger, in fact, it seemed to begin threatening to consume the green colour.

And because they provided little to no resistance to the super cutting techniques of Ryugi who's trying to cut a two-hundred-fifty plus man of dense bone and muscle in half (y'know 'cleave' and all meaning to cut through things), the swing would continue on as if he had missed his target. Or maybe he could ignore the weight and inertia of his own weapon's swing and his super speed and strength put into the swing and cancel that move as well.

'Cause things normally dont just stop like that. Y'know, physics.

Hey, he had already squatted down to avoid the cut, so he was naturally in a position to spring back up. BAM! Lower body put to use once again, like coils they push apart and he sprung straight back up as soon as the blade had just passed over his head, and having been in the process of turning, he'd be launching himself straight into Ryugi since his upper body was tilted forward with the squat anyway, of course, with a nice boost of air behind himself to make it real fast, as well as fiery wings bursting forth...

Except he didnt have wings. Two huge jets of flame would flare outwards from the skeletal stumps, adding to the suddeness and speed of the burst forward straight into the man.

His right hand would press its palm against Ryugi's right arm as it crossed over his body from the swing, around the center of the forearm, fingers wrapping around it so that it wouldnt slip out while it held and barely pushing downwards against it with the aid of his failed swing's momentum to keep it out of place and prevent it from coming back around to recover or swinging too far for him to escape again.

Tzenidaar's left hand would quite simply shoot up towards Ryugi's face since his arms were held out of the way, snaking up from the chin onto the side of his head to wrap his fingers behind the ear, unless he turned his head with the swing, then it'd go from the jaw up to the ear. The chin (or jaw) was the initial target for a simply reason, its distance to the neck, the join which let the head pivot and sway; at such a close proximity to the joint, it turned any chance of tilting the head out of grasp nigh-impossible, and with a hold on the man's arm, he had a means to measure any other shifts in the body in attept to remove his head from the path of the hand. In addition to that, The powerful forward spring and boost would hurl his body straight up into Team Phoenix's captain before he could recover and shift his body weight into an evasion, destroying any distance between them as he'd ram his body into the other man, his pelvis up at Ryugi's stomach with his legs forward, knees out to go around the man's side and clamp down against his hips, Ryugi's right arm crossing over his own chest with Tzenidaar's stomach in the way of his shoulder and upper arm so it couldnt come back around to his right side.

Extremely close quartered combat destroyed the ability to use any weapon larger than a knife properly and limited the movements of the arms and legs, cutting into the path of movement allowed by the joints. It was sort of like wrestling or any other grappling technique. Only Tzenidaar didnt have any sort of fancy submission hold or joint lock. He got in real close to prevent other people from defending themselves. Well, guess it wasnt much grappling them.

Hey, that hand which had a hold of Ryugi's head, the clawed thumb would slip up to the eye socket, and press right into it, hooking into the outside of the eye socket to complete the clamping motion of his hand against the inside and outside of the skull to get a good grip. Damage to the eye? Well, that depended on if his eyeball would pop out with the thumb all pressing against its side and forcing its way into the socket.

Somewhere, some kid was playing with one of those Tzenidaar action figures with KUNG-FU GRIP.

Hey, this called for a yellow flag.

As the result of Ryugi interrupting his attempt to get through the tornado, he'd never get a chance to get through it, though the winds would be directed around his body, he wouldnt be in its path for long as he launched himself back outwards into Ryugi for a counterattack before he could recover from his powerful swing, the winds being forced away from him back to the twister. Sometimes, power and speed were disadvantages when it came to the recoil of missing a wide swing with the body commited into its motion.

Damion and Rae would never witness the chimera going through the tornado, since he found himself busy with their captain once again. They must be having a whole lot of fun sitting off to the side watching from the other end of the whirlwind. Oh, that was sarcasm by the way.

38Ryugi Kazamaru

Tzenidaar got "SUPER" mean when he got mad.

So did Ryugi.

He'd been hoping for a swordfight when he saw the man, but the first thing he did was chuck the sword. b***d. Then, the b*d runs off after one move to try and harass his team mates? Not cool. NOW the b*d was jumping on him and gouging out eyes? That just pissed Ryugi the ****** off. The red of Ryugi's other eye that wasn't a bloodied mark, or hole, whatever, on his face suddenly glowed red, lit from within with a fiery, bestial light.

Ryugi's brain fought against the synapses crying out in pain from the gouged eye. Feeling pain in this situation wouldn't help him win this fight, or defeat the threat in front of him, and thus, the thoughts of pain from the situation were temporarily halted. Adrenaline surged through his system yet again, his body's response to the sudden assault, charging his body with sudden strength and energy to fuel his fight or flight response. A hint? Ryugi wasn't going anywhere. Ryugi's animal nature was being brought forth. His compassion was nearly nulled as his pure dragon ferocity sprung to life in an instant. It was time a real beast showed Tzenidaar exactly how it was done.

It was time that little strength and speed boost did a little more than just swing around a sword. And thats exactly what it did. Ryugi's left arm would let go of Ragnarok, the right hand still gripping the handle, now tighter than ever before. The left hand would pull back, Ryugi's boosted speed adding to the ferocity of the next action, as the left hand would surge forward, propelled by yet another boost of energy as the left fist would blur forward. Tzenidaar would take Ryugi's eye, but not before Ryugi's strength and ferocity took something back from Tzenidaar.

At this point, Ryugi could have probably jabbed a hole directly into Tzenidaar's body and torn him apart from the inside out. "Probably", because of his enhanced stats, and his draconic rage. But Ryugi knew the rules, and the rules stated no killing, and no unsportsmanlike conduct. So, even if the physical disemboweling somehow wouldn't kill Tzenidaar, it probably wouldn't have been very sportsmanlike. And really, Phoenix didn't need a bunch of cards on their heads at the moment. SOMEONE had to play by the rules in the match. Shame... Thus, Ryugi's retaliation took on a slightly different strike.

Ryugi's left palm would move into a claw strike and slam, crush, pulverize, shatter, and otherwise beat the s**t out of Tzenidaar's right side. Ryugi would follow the hit through as much as he could, guaranteeing a deep and incredibly painful strike into Tzenidaar's side. Since both of the chimera's hands were busy otherwise dealing with Ryugi's right arm and his eye socket, he wouldn't have anything to defend against it. That black skin tight shirt wasn't made of some impossibly thin armor was it? If it was, well, Ryugi's left arm would be hella sore, and that armor would have a dent in it with a depth of nearly five inches, "probably". If it wasn't some sort of armor, then the entirety of Tzenidaar's right ribcage would be shattered to pieces from the force of the strike, "probably".

The bone fragments would, "probably", cause some serious damage to any of the internal organs in the way of them. These would, "probably", be the right lung, stomach, and right kidney. The heart, while not directly in harm's way, would get a powerful jolt from the force transference. Who knows what that would do. "Probably" just hurt and make Tzenidaar's breath leave him for a while. If Tzen didn't respond enough to one such shot to his virtually unprotected side, then Ryugi would hit him with another shot of the same power. Oh, there was no "probably" about that one though. If Tzenidaar didn't even flinch, he'd continue to get pounded with those powerful shots to his chest until he either let go, or passed out.

All those "probably"s stemmed from the fact that Ryugi was a little foggy about exactly how strong Tzenidaar actually was when it came to his strength and internals. The mighty shot(s) to his side would have the previous effects on the average trained Gaian male, but Tzenidaar wasn't exactly average. Tzenidaar's HUMP TACKLE would only really serve to prevent him from blocking Ryugi's strikes. The chimera could get brutal and break rules. Ryugi would just have to get as brutal as the rules allowed to kick his sorry hodgepodged a**. Ryugi was pretty unsure about where or how he was going to wind up after this action/these actions, except that his eye was going to have trouble seeing, and Tzenidaar was going to get more than his wings broken if he continued to stay up close with the beast unleashed...

39Eternal Dirge

Damion sighed, his stance and enthusiasm wasted, when the Chimera did not infact reappear on their side of that huge twister." Well damn...." He muttered irritably, kicking a clod of dirt before giving a small chop of the sword in the air from his frustration." This is just loads of fun." the islander added as he watched their captain and Tzenidaar throw down. Atleast Ryugi couldn't get on him about not defending Rae, he thought quietly to himself. Since The chimera never burst through the Tornado, his shields power was still intact, and Rae had likely never thrown her electric wire, but now he just had to watch again. Well ******** that, he was going in, walking towards the twister but around it at the same time.

Unlike them, he would get thrown in that twister and it would not be fun.

Moo.

40HonoRaven

So since Hydra never made it through the Tornado it was still well under control and Raven had not wasted her energy on an Electric Wire spell yet. As for the twister if there had been anything out here for it to destroy it likely would have been gauged as an F1 on the verge of becoming an F2.

There was no one out on the field today to actually measure wind speeds, but Rae was aiming for a nice 100 mph, the kind of wind that could push mid sized cars around without much trouble... The Tornado had been meant to work as a mild deterrent for the Eliminator, something to keep his attention off of the more fragile members of team Phoenix... but now it was just in the way!

"Don't die..." It was the only warning she was going to give him as Raven turned her glare from the storm to Damion for a moment....and then back to her storm.

All that wind speed, all that pressure had weighed a hell of a lot even if it was a weight she only felt in her mind...but it was way too much to keep under strict control like this for very long, so she mentally ripped it to shreds, cutting the funnel off from the clouds overhead as the wind screamed all around them, and before it could unwind and just die off she threw those 100 mile per hour winds right at Hydra and Ryugi... hopping that her captain could simply weather the storm that was being dropped on him!

That done she sprinted after the stone and dirt laden micro burst that had come of her destroyed tornado to get in closer and attempt to really help this time as she drew her sword... no more waiting for Ryugi to soften Hydra up!

41Kraun

No desperate attempt to defend his eye or surrender? Bad choice. 'Cause theres usually two things to avoid when it came to the chimera; an exchange of blows and letting him get his fingers into you.

With no resistance against his thumb digging into his eye socket, he'd push it in further until it was nice and all all the way in there inside Ryugi's skull until his hand wouldnt allow the digit to go any further in. This didnt really take a lot of effert, since he was sort of in the process of doing it anyway, and was more or less a further extension of his thumb going into his eye against the inside of the skull to get a firm grasp.

Anyway, before we talk more about Ryugi and Tzenidaar, lets involve the other members of Team Phoenix, since they werent just spectator's, their actions did affect everything else in this fight.

Rae had thrown a wall of one hundred mile per hour winds at the two currently fighting. In addition to that, Tzenidaar was caught between their captain, and the tornade, Rae, and Damion. In addition to that, Tzenidaar had launched himself up and shot himself forward into Ryugi, the chimera's own center of gravity becoming higher than Ryugi's center of gravity as he got all up in his grill.

So the winds would pretty much push directly into Tzenidaar's back as his body shielded Ryugi from the gust of wind. The result wouldnt be too much different from what was going to happen anyway. The chimera was almost like pouncing on Ryugi; applying force above his center of gravity when his balance was off due to the swing of the sword. In addition to this, the 'jets' on his upper back only helped to propel his upper body forward, using Ryugi as a fulcrum, so it sort of would force Ryugi to be falling backwards. And because he didnt want to just fly along, he sucked the pressurized jets of flame from the boney wing stumps back into his body, this killed some forward momentum so that he would be falling forward with Ryugi's head in his left hand to make him fall backwards.

The wind and dirt slamming into his back only helped perform this faster as well as assist in driving his body forward with more force abruptly, in this case, making his eye gouge ensue all the more forcefully.

Stones... well, large heavy stones arent usually found on a battlefield that had been cleared of debris, but enough dirt and rocks were present to act as matter to assit the wind's push to pelt at the chimera's back, though it wouldnt last for long or do any significant damage if his body fell over to the ground to have it pass overhead.

But this was of little importance since Ryugi would be making his own counterattack as Tzenidaar stuck his thumb into Team Phoenix's captain's head. His right arm was forced to cross over his chest, which left little room for manueverability. Anyway, Tzenidaar couldnt do too much about this since he was holding Ryugi's right arm away with his own right hand, pushing downwards since he was in a higher position, and he didnt have control of the left arm anyway.

Oh, a punch was coming as Ryugi pulled back the left arm, cocking the fist back before it shot out ina blur. He pretty much had two ways of attack, since his right arm was held across his body to restrict his left arm's movement, not to mention the proximity of the two to limit the target's available. Tzenidaar's defense was as lacking as usual, since he concerned himself with offense much more often; every action was an attack or moved into an attack. He simply moved his right hand outwards away from himself, allowing his arm to move up his body slightly, bending at the elbow. And he'd take the hit on the inside of the elbow as his arm bent inwards with the movement of his hand.

Oh, it looked like something broke, that being his arm, since his right arm did not possess any sort of armour like his left. A snapping sound echoed out as his arm bent to take in the mighty blow and reduce its velocity, ligaments snapping, though it would be drowned out by the exploding twister that would launch him forward and Ryugi backward.

He barely had any time to react to the sudden flush of pain shooting through his arm like two hundred and fourty eight tiny needles since his poor excuse for a block was due to the major part of his concentration being put into his offensive action at the same time of the punch breaking his arm.

What offensive action? His his legs were busy getting a hold of Ryugi's waist, and his arms were both occupied, one with a thumb inside Ryugi's head, the other one holding an arm away.

The answer was very simple. He sucked the 'jets' of his wing's back into his body for a reason, and that was to redirect all of its force and energy into his left thumb that was inside the other man's skull, putting it all under pressure (air manipulation) in the digit before he released it violently all at once. The result of this was an explosion. He turned his thumb that was inside the other man's skull into a bomb and blew it up, splinters of bone and chunks of flesh sent hurling around inside the head in addition to the sudden blast of force.

Hey, it was just like when he sacrificed his fingers after sticking them between Athan Cole's elbow joint to blow his arm off, tearing the huge guy's flesh and tendons in the last Heaven or Hell with the explosive force. Heat was only a secondary effect of the explosion which seared flesh shut, cauterizing the wound and stopping bleeding.

Due to the thumb's proximity to the brain in the skull, Ryugi would be extremely lucky to be knocked unconscious and probably put into a coma if he wasn't instantly struck dead from the explosion inside his head. This was a direct attack to the brain and had nothing to do with amazing strength, lightning reflexes, or endless endurance.

As for Tzenidaar's left hand, well, safe to say, he had no thumb and a good chunk of the fleshy part which connected the thumb to the palm of the hand. That part of course, covering the socket as his thumb dug in, would be blasted to splatters of crimson and bone fragments, shooting away from the socket, painting a part of the gorget around his neck red with a messy splatter.

All the while, the crashing wind would push him forward with his left against the side of Ryugi's head, and Ryugi's already toppling body backwards.

Ryugi played by the rules. Tzenidaar had complete disregard for rules in general. He really was a b*****d.

Hey, isnt this a red card accompanied by a white card? And wouldnt that mean Team Phoenix defeats their eliminator on account of disqualification?

No, not really, because the move just...wouldn't happen.

Ryugi was waking the ******** up.

  • GUUUURRRRAAAAAHHH!!!!!! -

The left hand slammed against Tzenidaar's right elbow, shattering his arm like a toothpick. If Ryugi's punch held that much force, then Tzenidaar's physical strength simply wouldn't be enough to stop the next thing that happened, no matter how much he'd want to. Ryugi wasn't home right now. The dragon was in. And the dragon was going to tear the ****** st out of this little whelp that was trying to poke around his head with its dirty little fingers.

The left hand snapped back from the hit to Tzenidaar's arm and slammed against the ground to Ryugi's left side, rocks being blasted out from the force and the speed, the arm blurring, catapulting his weight AND the full weight of Tzenidaar up once more, even with the force of the wind pushing against them, more energy bursting from the dragon's own back to assist in the process. The pair would now be upright and airborne, the force from the dragon's back propelling the pair along. Tzenidaar could try to create a counter force with his own energies, he would fail. The dragon was in a berserker-like rage, brought on by Tzenidaar's own brutality, thus, he'd expend as much energy as he needed to keep the flight path JUST the way he wanted it to go. Equal or opposite just...wasn't going to happen. At least not enough to make a difference.

In that very same instance, at the same time as the pushing arm and before the popping finger, the dragon's right arm would forcibly tear itself across the space between the chimera and his chest. Tzenidaar's shattered right arm wouldn't be able to hold back the full force of the dragon unleashed. And all that force would quickly bring the right arm and Ragnarok behind it rushing past the dragon's face, the blade being boosted up with such force by the energy released that it would do one of two things. It would remove Tzenidaar's arms from the dragon's face and upper body, or it would cleave those little arms right off, preventing the dirty little finger from popping. s**t, it would probably do both. Because as soon as Ragnarok passed by, the dragon's right arm moved back, the massive weapon's tip aiming directly for the body of Tzenidaar, foreshadowing what was about to happen...

But then, the dragon's left arm would then speed in, blurring forward and grab the chin of Tzenidaar, and grip. Oh, about that gorgot, it wouldn't do any good, as the dragon's thumb would slip under it, while the other fingers held the jaw and face in place, careful to avoid those adorable little chompers, and push Tzenidaar's head back so he could see what he was about to see close up.

The ground.

The chimera's head would slam into the ground with a bone-shattering crash, as all that pent up momentum and force slammed his head into the rocky battlefield floor. Say "goodnight" mother ********. Brutality was within the rules, apparently, so the dragon wouldn't be liable for any cards. Tzenidaar would suffer a pure knockout or a major coma from the brain damage, but nothing further. Killing was a no, no, wasn't it? And the dragon was careful enough not to kill the pitiful creature in its grasp. He wouldn't have anything to kick around after he was done if he did that, now, would he?

Tch... Such a funny guy...

Blood dripped from the wound in Ryugi's head, his other red eye burned, its black pupil slitted and beast-like, the highlight normally there, gone. A twisted and animalistic grin was on his face. The time for playing nice had completely ended for the dragon, and Tzenidaar was simply NOT going to walk away from this fight. That didn't mean he'd be dead. But he might not have legs to walk away with. There was no question about the outcome now. The chimera had sealed his own fate by pushing a button he should have left alone.

44Eternal Dirge

Damion watched the goings on with something akin to confusion, maybe alittle awe mixed in at the thought that there was such abilities available in the world. " Well damn..." the islander murmured, shaking his head and laughing softly. It was funny, it all really was, just SO DAMN FUNNY! If not for the gravity of the situation, he'd have been rolling around on the ground with his laughter.

But, no time for that, time to see if he could help.

Now, all that had gone on while Ryugi and the Chimera had been flying through the air, so when they impacted with the ground, he cut all plans and stopped walking. He was about 20 feet away at that point, a good distance if s**t went wrong. He could feel the slight tremor of their impact in his bare feet, like if a small truck had passed close by.

Sounds like it hurt.

The islander stopped at that point, looking over at Rae to make sure she was clear of 'Ground Zero' over there.

45HonoRaven

This was all very, very bad....orange eyes were wide with shock as Ryugi went berserk and Rae stopped her dash a few steps ahead of Damion.

Closer now and without the tornado in the way she could see the blood running down the dragon's face although she couldn't tell how bad the injury was just yet. The main problem was that Rae didn't want to go charging in only to end up in the way. There was still a chance that Hydra could use one of them against the others.

Their captain apparently had things well in hand even if he was going totally insane...it would be better for all of them if the human and the elemental just continued to try and watch Ryugi's back. Raven glanced at Damion, turning slightly away from the two titans locked in their skirmish.

She pointed to her chest and then made a little circling motion to try and indicate that she was going to circle around so that she was on the far side, then she pointed at him and then pushed her palm out towards him like a crossing guard signaling for a car to stop. The last hand signal involved pointing to herself with one hand and Damion with the other hand and then pushing both pointing fingers together before she dashed off again, heading out and around the combatants, the quick instructions would not have taken more than a few seconds. Hopefully Damion would understand that they should spilt up and try and pincer the eliminator between them if it looked like Ryugi needed their help!

Says who? The prerequisite of getting his thumb inside the socket was already achieved. Tzenidaar didnt defend himself because he was too busy making an attack of his own while putting the thumb further into the eye, which was a simple action of moving the finger one additional inch since Ryugi didnt defend against it.

So Ryugi was a scitzo that could switch to perfectly rational thinking and throw a well aimed fist in a bad position instantly into a psychopath without reason other than knowing what would happen twenty milliseconds later? Nice.

Too bad Tzenidaar didnt want to or cared at all about which way they were going.

Damn, that boy was really fast to be able to manhandle the chimera around before the finger in his eye exploded, even after Tzenidaar had already set up for the attack and didnt need anymore preparation time.

It didnt matter if they were falling this way or that, cause those were secondary effects of bodies slamming into each other and wind throwing them this way and that. What was important was that he had a grip on Ryugi's head, and his thumb was put in his eye socket. It wasnt like he cared which way he was flying around at the time, since y'know, he was too busy concentrating on blowing up his thumb inside the other guy's head once it was in to really care.

So even as fast as Ryugi could be in god-mode, Tzenidaar would still blow up his thumb in the guy's head.

Why? If there was a question to the speed it takes for a whole bunch of pent up pressurized energy to move through his own body from the shoulders to the thumb, then the answer was simple; in order to make it explode, the reaction would have to be so immensely fast and sudden that it would have to bypass his own resistance to the elemental energy of fire.

Otherwise, wheres that giant expanding sad face thing? Also; lololololol, eliminator.

47Kraun

Yep, Ryugi was fast. And pissed off that some dude was rooting around inside his head with his thumb. Any person probably would be, and would want to tear the s**t out of whoever was doing it. Ryugi was no different. Tzenidaar's arm had shattered, and immediately afterwards, the left hand boosted down to hit ground, and the boosts of energy from the arm and Ryugi's back shot the pair up and ahead. At the same time as that, Ryugi's right arm and Ragnarok came across to pull the thumb out of his head.

Simultaneous actions were pretty dandy. But, since Tzenidaar was apparently faster than Ryugi's boosted stats, the popping finger would happen, but about two inches farther out of Ryugi's eye socket than intended, spattering its gore across Ryugi's eye hole instead of really inside his skull, and doing no major damage. Thus saving his brain for another time when he'd need it.

Simulatneous action?

Thumb in eye -> explode!

vs

Thumb in eye -> punch to arm -> hit ground -> grab sword and cut -> no explode.

Hmm... something here doesnt look right...

Ryugi broke Tzenidaar's arm while at the same time, Tzenidaar' blew up his thumb inside Ryugi's skull.

Meanwhile, immediately afterwards of the arm being broken and the thumb exploding, he hit the ground to launch himself up into the air grabbed his sword, cut of the chimera's arm, even when their bodies were pressed against each other and his arm didnt have any room to manuever anyway. Y'know, 'cause Ryugi was boosting his own body straight into Tzenidaar, closing the gap between them even further, with so much force that Tzenidaar couldnt break away even if he tried, but wasnt trying since he was busy blowing up his thumb.

But heres an amazing part, not only does he cut the left arm off, but he can even timewarp and add an additional action of pulling the hand with the thumb inside his eye socket and the fingers hooked around the back of the ear off, while it was clamping onto his skull of course.

So when was it exploding? 'Cause Ryugi acknowledges that it was faster than his actions, but he contradicsts himself when he still manages to puinch, swing around, hit the ground, grab his sword, swing the sword (without room to move his arm mind you), and then remove the hand.

Doesnt matter, it seems that whether the explosion went off in his face or right in front of his face had no effect at all anyway.

So anyway, idiocy aside, oh yeah, Tzenidaar didnt have any arms, and was was completely super dominated in all stats, and even though his positional set-ups were already in place, better stats wins, so somehow his left arm gets removed and he gets grabbed to be directed to get slammed head first from who knows what height, probably really high, since y'know, super stats and all, into the ground.

However, before his head gets pushed back, he'd spit over the edge of the gorget into Ryugi's face, since he had no usable arms and 'cause he spends way too much time talking trash and s**t. He had nothing better to do, so hey, might as well do it.

Oh, and about talking trash. "That all ya got, ya little b***h?"

Haha! Satire.

Anyway, back on track. So his head was being forced backwards so he could look straight at the ground as they fell assisted with whatever super power and speed boosts Ryugi made to prevent Tzenidaar from doing anything.

Well, Tzenidaar performed his 'do or die', but Ryugi's 'NO-U die' was better. Too bad.

Kraun Wrote:

No kidding.

Well, either way, the Eliminator was defeated. Knocked out, or in a coma. Since the move wasn't of a strength to kill him, he must have been playing dead. Course his soul reason for "killing himself" could have been simply to disqualify Team Phoenix and to be heralded as a hero, no a martyr, by everyone who'd disliked them. Not to mention be a major a** in the process.

Whatever the outcome, Ryugi would stand, crack his neck, and walk back to his team, blood still oozing from his eye wound, his body aching from the forces, stresses, and energy usage that had drained his stamina to a low point. He wouldn't even say a word as he passed Damion and Rae, heading back towards the Inn to get healed, recuperate, and either pack his bags or wait for his team's next round.

On his way out, he snatched a souvenir though.

A bigass cleaver that had been chucked at the beginning of the match was grabbed, and dragged through the dirt and the mud as Team Phoenix made their exit, the Elimination match, and possibly Heaven or Hell, over for them.

50Eternal Dirge

Damion blinked at the proceedings, lifting a finger and the sword in that similar right hand as if to say something then dropping both to his side and shrugging," Well ok then." Was all he would offer, all he could offer, before following behind the dragon and that freekish cleaver, making a point of it to keep Rae infront of him, incase Tzenidaar was playing dead and was still concious. Didn't want her or Ryugi getting jumped after all.

51themightyjello

And with that everything appeared to be over...

"Well... it's about time then..."

Standing and brushing the dirt from the legs of his pants, the Reaper walked forwards onto the battlefield.

Tonight on GNN, we cover the horrible sight of the Heaven or Hell Arena, and await the verdict on the fallen eliminatior. Here is tonights anchor, Dan Rather.

"Good Evening I'm Dan Rather, reporting in on the current Heaven or Hell crisis involving Two long time veterans to the tournament. Ryugi Kazamaru, a participant in such a prestigious tournament for the past few years, and long time fan-favorite Tzenidaar... somethin' or other. Reports from spectators say that Kazamaru during this "Eliminator" match for Team Phoenix, the leader had alledgedly used excessive force on Tzenidaar, up into the point where it may have actually caused a death in the ring to the fan favorite. We now go live with Our News Intern, whos name we don't care to say at the moment."

"Thanks Dan.

Well, by the looks of things just outside of the ring, there is a lot commotion going on. Just a few moments ago, the horrid battle scene between Long Time HoH warrior Ryugi Kazamaru, and the Original HoH warrior of old AND Eliminator Tzenidaar upped the Ante in their fight, by Ryugi going, from what one bystander had said "All out" on Tzenidaar. It was later said that no mercy was shown from the Dragon and Captain of Team Phoenix.

It had apparently escalated into more of a "No U" fight on the Phoenix side, and yet the actions contiued on anyway. It unfortunately led to the.. wait.. wait,"

The cameraman turned towards the ring, to view an unknown assailant approaching the lifeless body of Tzen. Suddenly, a messenger ran from the sidelines, out towards the news crew. The man whispered something into the interns ear, and after he did so, a sheer shocking look fell over her face.

"I have just... I've just been given information on the condition of Tzenidaar the Eliminator. As of now, the great warrior of Heaven or Hell is reported Dead on sight. Based upon the skeptic tactics of Kazamaru, as well as the noise that has just been discovered over a tape recording, it was determined that some sort of manuever that Kazamaru had done had killed the Winged Warrior.

This... this is just a tragedy in its own views, and in the views of others as well. I am deeply sorry to have to report such news to the viewing public, and I am also very saddened by this news. And to think I was going to announce my pregnancy of Tzens baby too...'"

The cameraman would then whisper,

"Julia, the cameras still rolling."

"What?!" she'd yell, before turning back to it and saying, "Uhh, err, back to you Dan!"

The young 22 year old intern would storm off in a heap of sadness in tears, while the crowds began to chant the fallen warriors name.

"Tzenidaar...

Tzenidaar...

Tzenidaar..."

"That is deeply saddening to hear Julia, and even here in the newsroom, we feel the heartache of the millions of fans in attending and watching this event.

Let us give a moment of silence for the great Tzenidaar folks."

All would be silent, and then for an unexplained reason, the camera would fade out as if someone mean to do so. The fall of a Great warrior always saddened his fans, but in one way or another, he would live on. He would live on...

"Tzenidarr...

Tzenidaar...

Tzenidaar..."

53HonoRaven

Rae followed after Ryugi, but she wasn't even trying to hide her disappointment at all of this crap, her wisp returning from wherever the heck it had been hiding to circle in agitation around her head again as she glared at the ground behind Ryugi's heels. "I never get to have any fun..."

She didn't think she could have done any better, in fact she was inclined to believe that she would have been the one on the ground in a broken pile instead of the creepy guy if they had fought one on one... but that didn't keep her from thinking this ending sucked!

54Kraun

Sadly, Tzenidaar didnt have the power to go back in time and change his actions. So the dead body would be there, y'know, skull crushed and all, shattered on the one odd misplaced rocky section of the battlefield, neck all snapped back in a gruesome display with his face all grinning like a bloody jackal.

It was a good thing Ryugi started moving away from the corpse, 'cause a second after the chimera's death, the contract kicked in. The damned shall be taken to hell, and the devil's champion shall rise again.

The ground beneath the body would begin to smoke as many many hands would rise up around the body, grasping at his armour and clothing, dragging him down into what appeared as a smoking fissure. But about these hands. They weren't like, zombie rotting flesh hands, or skeletal hands, or ever clawed humanoid hands like some typical evil devil which took human guise; they were dull grey normal looking human hands. Odd aint it?

The very same would happen to all the bits, pieces, and his other close belongings of the chimera. Why? 'Cause it took less energy and was more efficient for the abysmal plane to reconstruct the body, and how else was the chimera going to earn his way back without a weapon?

So, as Ryugi would reach down and grasp at the big slab of metal, he'd have some competition with all the dull grey hands pulling it down into a pit. If he got too close, they're reach out and grab at him too, free souls were always welcome in the Baator. Unless of course, he was smart enough to steer clear of those od hands that even grasped at the bone shards of his shattered wings which got tossed about by the twister before it disappeared.

Man, that Joshua character was late if he wanted to pick up the chimera's corpse. Dis wanted to snag him up as soon as he got the chance, y'know, sitting in his fortress all the time, he had tonnes of time to do this, and he could always use someone to do the dirty work for him.

55themightyjello

Late? Perhaps a little.

Tzenidaar was dead, and now that the contract had kicked in this place was being drawn bit by bit closer to hell itself. He wasn't here to see off his old companion or anything at all like that, the Reaper had come to ensure that everything went smoothly.

He stood at the edge of the abyss that the chimera was being drawn into, looking down into the fires with his thumbs hooked in his belt loops.
