How would Kuwabara get on his feet? With the way he had fallen, standing straight up would have taken quite a while. Besides...
Kuwabara was comfortable right here.
Peppa had tied himself up now. What he didn't realize is that Kuwabara's body wasn't crossed at all.
Kuwabara~Warrior of Love Wrote:
Kuwabara's aimed the point of his left sword from his hip using a quick motion of his wrist.
The stab had come from his waist. His Spirit Swords were at least three feet long. Not as long as the swords Peppa was swinging, which had to be four or five feet considering Peppa stated he had a seven foot range.
At the distance he was at, it'd extend for its mark from Kuwabara's hip without even needing to cross his left arm over his body.
Then there was his right hand. Kuwabara moved up his right hand as he fell, the two motions allowing him to put his sword in a defensive position to easily defend against Peppa's right blade.
But it didn't come now. Peppa had instead took the time to deflect Clash's attack with his right, when the chord was aimed for his left arm. It would take a pretty big swerve of the hips. And as Peppa noted, his swords would be held out wide, meaning he would be deflecting Kuwabara's stabbing sword with his left.
And with his body turned like that, Peppa would be open.
Once the extended sword was parried to the side, it would have extended just two feet past Peppa as he moved it to the side. But before Peppa could turn back to Kuwabara, he would see what was happening.
If these were lightsabers like they usually were, Peppa's sword would have no guard, Kuwabara's extended Spirit Sword would move against the lightsaber and slide up its length. With how Peppa would have to hold the sword to parry it, it would have at least some sort of incline. If it was inclined to the inside, Kuwabara's Spirit Sword would slide down and take off Peppa's left leg.
If it was inclined more even or to the outside, Kuwabara's blade would move upward, at the very least moving to his hand and damaging it, either by a good laceration or cutting off a finger. It'd then be over Peppa's left shoulder. In either case, this action would be done with Kuwabara now moving his left arm up, but not across his body, using the tilt of his wrist to direct the angle. If it did have some kind of guard, though, Kuwabara's arm movement would have the extended blade move with the outside-blocking left lightsaber's parry to end up in the same place...over Peppa's left shoulder.
Yusuke had done his part. And now Nightsnow and Clash, people he hadn't known for very long at all, were both cheering him on and giving support. He was tired of being defensive or looked down upon, like he used to be back in the Dark Tournament those years ago. It was time for him to show that his determination was as strong as the Force itself.
By the time Peppa would turn back to come in with his right, Kuwabara would violently pull his left arm back to its left side, bringing it out of range...
"HHHYAAAAAGGGHHH!!!"
...and bringing the extended left blade down onto Peppa's left shoulder. Kuwabara's face contorted with effort and determination as he brought it down.
With Kuwabara's blade not being so sharp as to just pass through Peppa, the powerful blade would bend as it made its contact, dragging along the front of Peppa's body, leaving a large gash on his chest running from the top of his left shoulder to his lower right side. If he was wearing armor, Kuwabara would tell by how the blade hits against him and focus his spirit energy into his sword as it dragged against it to cut through it. The blade's cutting power would be dampened by the time it would cut through armor, anyway, leaving it able to leave its damage without cutting through Peppa completely, which isn't what Kuwabara wanted to do. Not to mention the swipe itself would leave him knocked back and off balance, considering it'd come as he was recovering from the twist of his hips. If he didn't have armor under his clothes, the gash it would leave would be shallow, but heavy. Not enough to hit vitals, but enough to leave a hell of a gash and put Peppa in severe pain.
If he could get his right around to come in with a counter, Kuwabara's right hand would still be there for his defensive uses. As for the snow, they were in three feet of it. But Kuwabara had landed with a slump, and with his back to a tree no less. Snow around the feet of trees usually piled up, and snow was easily compactible. The thump of his previous fall would have the snow compacted, not leaving him completely without the proper elevation to roll out of the way if he needed.
A chopped off could end the fight...or even a heavy gash like the one Kuwabara was leaving. If it did, it would be just in time, since he didn't want to keep his teammates or the other Lu Bu fighters waiting any longer.
[9/17] (It's 9th, right? Because of the striker? Or is it the 8th?)
Edit: Urameshi's telling me it's the 8th.
