Southern Basement Arena

Underneath the Leviathan Stadium, a large area has been cleared and divided up into four sections.

Upon the stony floor of the underground, a wooden platform has been brought in with a cloth mat stretched across it tightly. This will serve as the extra stage for the preliminary rounds of Heaven or Hell, where the fighters show their talent to the event coordinators, because there was an unanticipated greater number of applicants.

Preliminary Round fights have no time limit, but fights must be completed before the current round ends.

Fights go ten posts long.

A single penalty flag counts as a failed test.

Well that's a unexpected surprise.

A 6'2" man would muse as reality would bend before his opponent, twisting and turning into what appeared to be a wormhole. It was a fine art perfected by Peppa and guided primarily by the universal energies that fueled everything. Through it, he was able to eliminate most errors.

Once before the man, the wormhole would dissipate away while the man before the Kitsune. He had loosely been informed of his challenge for the prelim's having begun early to accommodate for the sheer number of participants of this years tournament.

Soon we'll be starting this on Halloween...

The Jedi would mutter to himself before finally giving his opponent recognition with a look. He was please to have found a Kitsune, he hadn't seen one for quite some time and had feared there were some sort of repercussions for his "friend" who way back when destroyed Kitsune-folk out of racism.

Of course, "friend" being past tense.

Kam', eh? I can't say I recognize your name but I will not hold that as a reason to hold back.

With that, the dark haired Jedi would give a bow before standing up. With a flick of his hair he would face his opponent straight on, at this point his opponent would quite clearly see that his foe wore an eye patch. An odd thing for a Jedi.

Reaching to each side, the Jedi would grasp for his weapons, twin light sabers. Not turning either of them on, he would simply hold them lightly in each hand to his side.

Then with a sigh, he'd let the force flow through him. His kind and peaceful presence being reflected through the force in a manner that would make it feel as if Peppa was a part of the arena itself. Which would be creepy had the feeling not been so calm.

Ready when you are.

Kamui's eyes didn't open as he felt the reality of the arena distorting slightly with his spiritual link with this reality. Kamui slowly opened his eyes blue crystals just in time to see the inch taller man walk through the dimensional rift, Kamui's eyes lit up ever so slightly, keeping his head level with the arena floor. Taking in the image of Peppa, Kamui's tails started to excite themselves sending his various energies throughout his body as this was going to be one of his toughest fights, and it seemed that his tails understood a quick charge would be necessary to boost his attributes toward the jedi. At the peak of Peppa's first statement Kamui had no idea what the man was talking about, but Kamui shook it off as fast as possible so he didn't lose focus in this battle. In the light of the honor of this fight Kamui bowed his head toward Peppa.

"A pleasure too meet you again Clause. It will be interesting to cross blades with you since the first time I was too young and inexperienced to challenge you."

Kamui took the time spent that Peppa used for pleasantries, and played his way through the mind of the extremely experienced Jedi master he will be fighting in mere seconds, but something in Peppa's mind greatly disturbed as Kamui saw an acquaintance of Peppa's slashing down some of a rival Kitsune clan. Pulling his mind back from Peppa's own, Kamui took his stance and prepared for a good fight.

"By all means Peppa go first."

Kamui's ice blue crystals would remained concealed behind his eyelids to better heighten his spiritual bond with the nature around him even though he was still full in tuned with Peppa's response, he could feel the tone of familiarity with the Jedi which perched a smirk over the right side of his lips. Feeling the quick movements of the jedi as he cut his way through the space between the two fighters, Kamui's eyes remained closed to keep his senses sharp, and to continue to draw his energies into one of his strongest attacks.

Dropping low, Kamui darts to the left so fast, he leaves an afterimage of himself that the jedi's saber would pass through. Away from his opponents first attack, Kamui's right hand quickly goes to the hilt of Tsukiyomi the holy blade, it was quickly dispatched from the sheath with a lightning fast flash, and points the tip of his blade directly at the throat of Peppa using the Jedi's heart rate to dictate where he was without having to rely on his eyes. The smirk hadn't disappeared from his lips, as he waited on the right side of Peppa, his blades tip was now almost pressed to the throat of the jedi's throat. A cold whisper would slowly emanate from the Kitsune's lips.

"Sorry that I am not really one for small talk, but yes we will after Prelims providing that our teams make it, even if they don't we will chat. Infact ........"

Kamui conversation drifts off as he prepares himself for one of Peppa's counters.

Kamui was equally in tuned with the spiritual world around him, found it a great honor, and the fact that his swordsmanship, as well as Peppa's was dead on right now, but it seemed to Kamui that he wasn't fighting with everything he had. Kamui's left hand still free swings down behind his waist to wrap his digits around the black ice blade known to Kamui as blood that actually had a trapped demon of the dark deep inside its glowing crimson blade. Quickly releasing the blade from the sheath, Kamui brings the blade around in his left hand toward the front of him to crash the offending saber from attacking his person plus he gets to see another chance to feel pretty sparks raining over the both of them.

"No wonder I damn near idolized you Clause."

After this declaration Kamui brings up his right knee then instantly extends his right leg out to the fullest into a quick snap kick then pulls it back in. If Peppa was struck by this hit he would be mildly stunned if not just slightly taken a back.

Not about to leave time for the attack, Kamui haunches low then powers himself backwards about four feet to avoid the strike. Kamui still in mid air brings both of his blade tips downward and into the mat, slicing his way through the mat, Kamui skids to a slowing pace only to power forward toward Peppa clause with his blade tips still in the ground, as well as an influx of energy surrounding his right hand while he continued to hold onto the hilts.

With his direction completely changed, Kamui drags the blades through the ground then with a flick of both of his wrists turns the arena floor into a wall of debris headed full force toward Peppa Clause, slowing to an expedient stop a foot away from Peppa with his right hand holding his blade to the side parallel to the ground, Kamui's eyelids open to reveal his once ice blue crystals now a sheen of silver, and his fangs extruding past his lips. The energy in his right hand was released all at once shooting the master jedi with his ice wave attack hopefully turning the jedi master into a freezy pop at least for a little bit.

The pirate patched Jedi would raise an eyebrow as his opponent performed miraculous feats. Such balance and form. It was unprecedented. Yet he didn't let that affect the outcome of the battle, he wasn't going to be letting his opponent win just because he can balance so finely on the tips of his blades.

The debris would be shot at him.

With a raise of his left hand he would embue his spiritual energy with the force crystals within the saber to amplify out a telekinetic blast on the debris. He would hopefully be shooting the said debris either out in a scattered pile or out back to his opponent who was now playing dirty tricks.

This Kitsune certainly did live up to his name.

Than his opponent would stop a said foot away from Peppa while shooting a wall of ice. To this, Peppa would ignite both light sabers to cut a dividing line across the ice so his telekinetic's can toss each half of the said ice wave to the sides of him as they went forward. The end result would simply have the ice go around him and perhaps a light saber having cut through the ice into his opponent who was a foot away from him and considering how the light saber extended out to four feet and with a three foot-ish arm length.....

It was assumed that if he was able to cut through the ice to protect himself he would be performing a vertical bisection of his opponent....which of course would be stopped before it was lethal.

Kamui would only be standing a foot away from the pirate jedi for the duration of his own attack, taking a couple of steps back from the the wall of debris which was actually the only thing being cut through as the ice wave was formless and sstill making its way toward Clause, which seeing as he made no attempt to change his position would start to turn into an ice sculpture himself, and Kamui would still be caught by the light saber's swing as he hadn't entirely cleared the space needed to avoid the blades cut entirely.

The vertical slice from the saber leaves a gasch through Kamui's midsection starting to bleed from the wound, his tails with their built up energy would start to wrap around his cut midsection, and begin to heal himself as a rapid rate to keep himself out of lethal danger. Kamui using a lot of energy to heal himself as well as feeling the "Ice Wave" draining his power slightly brought him to his right knee, gritting his teeth, Kamui's glares turned pure silver as he sets off in a less then full speed dash, bringing his right hand from the lower half of his left body, as well as doing the same thing witht he right side of his body, Kamui slashes in an X shaped angle in an attempt to slightly damage the jedi, as he would still be dealing with the "Ice Wave" Peppa would be heavily distracted by this fact.

Kamui's attack wouldn' end there from the end of the X pattern at the tip of the X's, Kamui would flip, drop the blades downward across Peppa's body stopping after the drop would go about a foot and a half then he would flick the blades so that they tipped in ward, and the both of them would be brought through the middle of Peppa Clause in a non lethal fashion then crossed over one another to rest on either side of his body with his blades resting behind him. Ending the maneuver Kamui would jump back, and skids to a stop landing on his right knee again somewhat exhausted.

Light sabers. The energy from the twin ignited blades would radiate in the form of heat even on oxygen. Using this great supply of heat, Peppa would use the technique "absorb/dissipate energy" to absorb the heat energy from the air into himself and pretty much just thaw himself out.

Which given that his opponent had jumped back, healed himself, and stumbled to a knee. It was all the time in the world for this Jedi to reduce any real stunning from the attack. Any pain he would be feeling from the effects of the cold would be neutralized as he simply cut off the pain receptors feed through the force.

Yet he didn't move from his spot, he kept just enough frost for his opponent to think he was still stuck. He wouldn't move until his opponent came at him with a X shaped strike with both blades, which was quite perfect for the waiting Jedi.

Through the force, Peppa could feel the ripples of danger almost like spider -man. He could feel his opponent's attack coming and with his will submitted to the force he would move without hesitation. The blades weren't coming in a preferred direction but it was still a X.

Taking a step back to avoid knee damage while swinging his left hand down in a horizontal angle, he would attempt to block both coming blades with one beam while snapping his right blade for his opponent's left arm. Simply to chop it off. Death by bleeding was also impossible considering well, light sabers cauterize wounds instantly.

I know, it doesn't sound like a Jedi would do such things but it'd get healed back, so chopping it off wasn't really that unsportsman or un jedi like. As was this whole tournament for that matter.

Kamui forcing both of his black ice blades upward while bringing his right knee up and deep into the jedi's solar plexus. If the strike had made contact Peppa would be knocked off balance enough from Kamui to hop back again to avoid the left beams attack should there be one made. Kamui was more than frustrated with this fight, but he was still having a ton of fun.

"I am not surprised at your skills, but I am surprised at how much enjoyment I am getting out of this fight."

Kamui slightly breathing hard sets himself up for the next strike.

His opponent's arm should've been cut off. The resistance and time it would take to pull both blades up would be more than enough time to have cut off his arm with the other blade. Yet his opponent had swung both arms up wildly before performing a knee strike.

With his left arm now in the air because it had been forced upwards, he would take a half step back while continuing his previous motion. Chopping. He had wanted to cut off his opponent's arm but when he had pretty much given him a free knee, he couldn't refuse.

With a quick swing with his right blade, he would perform a simple chop on the opponent's knee before taking another step back and bringing both arms down into a ready position.

His opponent didn't really have much to say about this one. With one leg on the ground and both arms still swinging up from momentum he didn't have many options.

Peppa would furrow his eyebrows as he saw his target was a false target long before it had even melted. Through his eye patch he could see into the force and virtually see everything for what it truly was. It was why he wore the thing after all, he had two good working pairs of eyes.

Well, he used to anyways...

Now for the IC explanation of why the blood wasn't going to be doing a whole lot. Detoxify poison I'm damn sure got accepted on the list of abilities. It basically eliminates any sort of hallucanation or outside chemical through reinforcing the physical body, and simple destruction of the substances.

For instance (I know Jello isn't going to like this but I like to give examples whenever I use powers, it's basics in arguments. You give credibility and likewise situations) Darth Bane had barely survived a triple fatal intake of some poisonous substance. Although he had noticed it far too late, through the dark side in a similar move he had wandered off until he had found innocents to kill just to buy himself more time until he reached a healer later on. Hallucanations =/= fatal injections but you can see the likeness in the situation.

For Peppa however, it was painfully obvious what was going on when he felt any equilibrium change and his opponent had miraculously and wondrously cut himself a good one. He could've at least have had made it look like an accident. So with a deep concentration he would attempt to ward off any images that would occur by the smell of the blood.

Well isn't this handy, he had realized where his opponent was before the figure had melted which gave him enough time. To look at his opponents figure in a scissor kick which he could only assume that there would be a scissor kick coming.

His left hand was still in the air with the blade still on. With the kick coming, Peppa would simply move his hand out for the oncoming kick to sever the new leg off as it rained down for his skull.

Yet that wasn't all.

Peppa's right hand was currently across his body after having swung at the ice clone. With swing from his left to his right, he would attempt to get a good chop at his opponents other leg at the same time.

Which sadly, would leave both of his arms out and away from his body in the end of the attack.

A half dressed man stumbled into the arena and looked blearily about, one piece of toast being a hopeful, if late, breakfast, so long as it didn't drop out of his mouth.

Sunstrike pulled on his tank top, his flared ears giving him the most trouble, and his jacket. Amazingly he managed to retain the toast through it all, only needing to shake the cloth out a bit to remove excess crumbs. He was now in a position to take a look around, though, for his portion of the fighting area, there didn't seem to be much so far. That was lucky.

He'd almost slept through his preliminary round! It just wouldn't do...Sun decided he'd have to have some variety of alarm in the near future. Carefully he patted himself down, checking to see that he didn't have any loose change in his pockets, or embarrassingly stuck socks from the wash.

Everything seemed fairly in order. He placed his hands on his hips and grinned excitedly.

THIS year things would go right, he was sure of it. What with Teira leading them, and Wulf taking the brunt of second off his shoulders.

Sun was pretty impressive, standing there proudly, white on white with red boxers...

It was just a shame that he'd forgotten his pants in the rush.

"New fashion trend? I wish someone wold have sent me a memo...." Rae was tickled pink at the nonchalant tone to her voice as she glanced up at Sunstrike over the blade of the dagger that she was attempting to use to clean under her nails while she waited.

How had she gotten in there ahead of Sun? Well it was simple, no magic involved even, Rae had snuck in a few hours ago and was using all of her will power not to bounce up and down from impatience as she waited for her opponent.

Her red and black striped hair was all tied back in long braids with little sharp edged crystal beads strung through them at odd intervals, revealing the hilt of a long sword poking over her left shoulder. For once her own fashion sense appeared to be toned down as she was dressed only in a tight black halter top with silver chain shoulder straps and black Lycra pants that made her curves very eye catching but kept her assets all under control! A long, thin chain belt was double wrapped around her waist, apparently for the sole purpose of matching the shoulder straps of her top, fingerless gloves with shiny metal plates across the backs of her hands and around her wrists along with a simple pair of knee high black leather boots and a thin silver chain necklace topped off the outfit, a second dagger hilt visible in the top of her right boot.

All in all, Rae looked like she was ready for a night at a punk rock concert more than for a full out fight to prove what she was worth!

Closing his eyes, Kamui could feel his nerves springing to life, and his appendages repairing themselves at an astronomical rate of speed. Slowly opening his eyes, kamui lifts his upper body from the ground to watch as his legs continued to repair any damage brought on by Peppa. His legs all fixed, Kamui kicks them slightly then gets to a standing position.

"Yes much better thank you. When will the first lesson be Peppa?"

If it were possible, Sun's eyes got bigger as the massive lizard trundled towards him. But he didn't step backwards, or make a move to duck he just braced himself as stones and dust shot out from the stop. He seemed to be doing completely the opposite of his plans and meeting the monster head on and unarmed!

The large hammer arched towards him, momentum carrying it faster then it should have ever been able to go. And just as it was about to hit, Sun was gone. The hammer was left to swing it's merry way upwards.

But wait, surely that was against the rules! It would have been if Sun had actually tried to shift space and time to do it. Sometimes all you had to do was move out of someone's focus.

In actual fact, as the hammer arched upwards for the lizard, Sun's opponent might feel a little extra weight once the momentum reached it's peak.

Sun was swung way outwards like a flag at the top of a pole, both hands clenched at the base of the metal where it met the rest of the shaft. The g's of the upward swing had distorted his face nicely for the camera's. Time was of the essence now, for what goes up must come back down.

He rolled himself up so that he was crouched all along the weapons length and sprang up the arm towards the other being's head. He was going for the eyes on the scaly creature, not knowing any other logical sensitive area's.

Whoa!

If Sun could have screeched to a halt on the scaly hide, he would have done. He could almost hear the sound effect of his hasty stop through his head.

As it was, all he'd managed to do was to plant a foot against the exposed neck, and the top of a broad forehead when the being rotated his head and unhinged his jaw to strike out. Sun was in too awkward a position to effectively use his metal foot, trying just to maintain balance, and forcing his body to react to the imminent loss of a couple of arms. There would have been no WAY he could have stopped the jaw from closing in on him.

When the snap came, all he could do was use that unstable points to throw his body backwards, through the sleeves and out of his jacket, leaving him attached by cloth to the other creature for a moment.

Using this to his advantage he actually rolled off the arm and shoulder of the lizard, twisting the white material like rope over the rest of his opponents face. This left him hanging all along the broad back and spine and wrenching the head back before the grip was lost. The staff slipped out of the harness easily, but that wouldn't do him much good from where he'd ended up, and the impromptu mask would only last as long as the material did.

Oh my gods...the tail?!

Yes...Sun had forgotten, and yes he was in deep dookey. He hauled his feet up and planted them on the third limb to stop, or at least delay it's progress, but was literally caught between a rock and a hard place, one arm tied up as much as the other guys face was.

Then came the ripping and a sudden plunge down the eight foot giants back, making him go into an odd, but amusing, U shape caught between the length of the tail and the small of the back. The only thing keeping him from falling off was a desperate grab to the top of the other guys jeans.

Sun would roll in the same direction that the tail did, but not before getting clipped by the side of a right heel, losing his grip and throwing him off to the guys left side.

He landed in a crouch a few feet away, more dirt thrown in the air, one hand holding his side, the other his weapon.

S'like fighting a bleeding tank...
