1-HoH- Judge

Western Basement Arena

Underneath the Leviathan Stadium, a large area has been cleared and divided up into four sections.

Upon the stony floor of the underground, a wooden platform has been brought in with a cloth mat stretched across it tightly. This will serve as the extra stage for the preliminary rounds of Heaven or Hell, where the fighters show their talent to the event coordinators, because there was an unanticipated greater number of applicants.

Preliminary Round fights have no time limit, but fights must be completed before the current round ends.

Fights go ten posts long.

A single penalty flag counts as a failed test.

2Ryu Versher 777

With golden brown eyes lurking within the shadows, he begins walking out with his gloved hands within his pockets. His hair flocking from side to side about his face, but only one eye was seen as the other covered by the strands of raven navy hair.

"Preliminaries? Well, it'll be nice to have a warm up." His eyes leer around wondering who's his opponent for the small match. He couldn't care less about what was to happen in the match, but hey, at least these muscles would come into use now. He gives a yawn.

Looking around the ring, he sighs a bit while looking towards the judges, "Hey, where's my opponent?" He asks, vaguely knowing who the person was or in fact anything at all. "What do I have to do here, fight myself?"

He looks around once more, while setting his hands within his pockets then giving a subtle exhale of irritation.

4Silver Alexander

"Hellooooooooo? Anybody down here?"

The voice had come echoing down the empty halls shortly before it's source, the young Silver, had appeared in the basement area set aside for the prelim matches. He was a little late, and looked about still appearing somewhat confused, as he hadn't known this area was even down here, and it had taken him some time to find it. A little odd for a guy that was supposed to be a stadium resident for the past couple of years.

Still, he figured he was in the right place, as at least one of his team mates for this year was already fighting their opponent, and it seemed their match was already well underway, too.

"Tch."

Silver grinned slightly, somewhat unintentionally. It was his captain, brining all sorts of thoughts about the circumstances this year bubbling to the surface. Though he wasn't too happy about participating on someone else's team, he could at least respect the fact she was passionate about fighting and already in there kicking a**.

He turned his attention back to the room at large, scanning the other preliminary rings in order, naming them off in his head until he found the one he desired.

North... East... South... Here we go. West.

Silver stepped into his designated ring, still grinning as he ran a hand through his platinum locks to shift them out of his face, before glancing up at the ceiling. He'd felt it appropriate that he was assigned the western ring. Even if he hadn't seen it himself, he'd known that the only man in the tournament that it was important he fought this year had his own preliminary round in the very same ring on the floor directly above. He could feel it.

Silver rubbed at his abdomen idly.

He then yawned rather loudly, before looking around again, somewhat distraught.

"So, uh... where's my opponent?"

5Alexander Tyson

"Present..."

His rough voice was followed by his calm entrance as he simply walked in like most people do when there is a door. His stern 6,2 frame walked with a gentle grace of a dancer as the Black/Blue Karate Gi he wore flapped back and forth around his body and fell silent as he went motionless. His eyes scanning the ring and nodding with approval before going to the center, ready to get things going as he did his normal routine.

Gruul Skanovavich walked gently to the center of the ring, got on both his knees and whispered a soft prayer to himself in his native tongue and if his good opponent cared to listen the rest was in plain English.

"Father guide us with strength and Mother be our Hearts to forge us a path to eternal life. Pain, Desperation and Agony come but I hold true to your name Lilly, I'll make you proud Amen."

With his prayer done he took his right hand, formed as fist and kissed his knuckles before tapping it against his forehead and rising to his feet. His body lifting him with strength and conviction as he opened his eyes and examined his target, knowing the rules and the deal he breathed gently before speaking gentle and almost half whispered.

"May the Goddess be with you."

His feet danced him back and moved rapidly while his upper body held itself up and tight. His hands forming fists and taking position eye level and he was now ready and waiting....

6Silver Alexander

"About time."

Silver grinned. He was just messing with the guy, he hadn't arrived all that much later than he had. It was actually rare for Silver to arrive first anywhere, given his carefree attitude and habits.

He ruffled his own unkempt hair as he gave the guy the once-over. He was a little tall, being over 3 inches taller than Silver, but that was no big deal. His opponent otherwise looked pretty normal, he thought. Of course, this was coming from a guy who personally knew an elf, a devil, a salamander, and a wolf-man. What surprised Silver most was that he couldn't recall ever having seen this guy before. Not at the stadium, not a previous tournaments, not anywhere. He must have been a newcomer to the scene. It was a little exciting.

"I'm--"

Silver was about to begin with the pleasantries, but it seemed his adversary had his own ritual to perform. He just crossed his arms and let the man finish. He listened to what was said, all the while cocking an eyebrow, and rubbing at the underside of his nose with the back of an index finger. It seemed a little odd to him, not being one for religion, but hey, far be it from him to criticize another's beliefs. It wouldn't be the first Paladin he'd fought.

Silver himself wasn't much spectacular to look at, especially at the moment. He was young and stood a mere slightly more than 5'10", with a tone, athletic looking build for a young man his age. His overall appearance was disheveled, his platinum hair messy, and his eyes sunken with dark circles around them from lack of sleep. His clothes, a simple t-shirt and loose fitting fighting pants, were dirty, he having slept in them, and then crawled straight out of bed and then down into the basement for his preliminary match. Hence, the yawning. It seemed he and Sun had the same problem today.

"Uh, yeah... you too... Straight to the point, I see. Well, they don't give us much time for these, so I guess you're right, we might as well get started."

Silver balled his fists and raised them, though not as high as his opponents, and widened his stance, stepping into a ready position.

"Ready?"

The well built Gruul nodded as he slowly let his guard down to let his shirt slide off, the cotton flowing down his upper body and revealing a hard and tormented soul that wanted a small piece of heaven to call his own one day. His muscular frame was covered in scars, running down his arms and all across his body, his hands were burned badly and there was a mark around his neck from where he had been hanged. His back was littered from where he had been beaten and whipped, the marks from the hot irons were still there. On his left peck there was a cross burned upside down into his flesh and on the other side a name also branded into his chest the words spelled out simply one little girls name.

"Lilly"

As the cotton hit the floor he resumed his position and nodded, his long dark hair becoming a sea of strands in front of his face but his eyes were focused and his goal was set.

In a blur of motion he burst forward with a good amount of speed, his left side taking point and carrying him across the floor rather quickly but only to close the gap, once he arrived just out of striking distance he forced himself to slow down and as he came into distance he was at a gentle swaying motion as he sent out his first attack. A lead hand punch with his left fist that was directly to the face and this quick jab would be a knocker so to speak. It was directly to the nose, just a little above it for a very good reason, could his friend here guess why?
