Western Division Arena

In the center of the Leviathan Stadium, the large stadium-sized arena pit has been divided up into four sections.

Upon the pounded-flat dirt floor of the arena, a wooden platform has been brought in with a cloth mat stretched across it tightly. This will serve as the stage for the Preliminary rounds of Heaven or Hell, where the fighters show their talent to the event coordinators.

Preliminary Round fights have no time limit, but fights must be completed before the current round ends.

Fights go ten posts long.

A single penalty flag counts as a failed test.

2Chrjo12

A woman with striking blue hair seemingly glided into the arena, looking left and right before putting a hand on her chin inquisitively and perusing her surroundings more thoroughly. She looked down at her black high heels, and with a frown on her face, decided that they might just inhibit her mobility. She then bent down and began undoing the laces that binded them to her feet, offering everyone behind her a remarkable, tantalizing view due to her small, black miniskirt. She finished her task with a yawn and tossed them wearily to the side.

Her right hand drifted to her backside, where it then retrieved a black, serrated dagger, one of two, and she began dexterously twirling it in her hand. Her left hand stayed closed to her left hip, where there dangled a weathered gray pouch with unknown contents inside.

The half-succubus's eyes seemed to sparkle as a malicious grin began to spread over her face.

3Vahn Fah

Here again... seems like I can't ever get away from this place.

Yellowed eyes blinked once, before taking in the temporarily transformed ground arena of Leviathan. It was an odd sensation, knowing that the start and end of this tournament would apparently begin in the same place. Making it a sort of circle...a completed motion of events and actions.

He could see how Athan, Kael and Rage had been split off, receiving instructions on which partition to be at, where they would presumably wait for their opponent to show.

Vahn himself had taken his time, not exactly as gung ho as the rest of his team seemed to be...sorta. Athan had been busy yelling something at the people in charge, while Rage was paying his respects...and Kael.

Kael was being...Kael.

"Ah...?"

Dark locks shifted to the side, before a single hand came up and brushed them back up, so they stood on end once more. Coming up to where he was designated to begin, he was treated to quite the sight.

Cocking his head to the side as he moved forward, he brushed the side of is nose with a thumb, slightly grinning.

"Your my opponent...?

I've never seen you before."

He stood facing her now, the flaps of his black coat falling to either side as he left thumb ran down his nose, while his right hand supported the flammard balanced across the back of both his shoulders.

4Chrjo12

The left hand drifted back to her chin, and the woman did not even attempt to conceal her actions as she blatantly gave Vahn the once-over. She took a few steps forward, her naked feet perfect and smooth as though never touched by any sort of rough activity--the woman as a whole appeared to be too.....soft...for combat. After closing the distance to a meager 15 feet, she allowed the left hand to find a handle on the pouch at her side while she cocked her head to the side, obviously curious at.....something.

Her sultry voice threatened to melt the area around her.

"I'm certainly yours." A single evanescent giggle burst from her mouth. She didn't give Vahn the chance to reply to the innuendo though.

"Fiora, at your service. What is your name, lovely?"

All the while, the dagger in her hand continued to spin, the muscle memory in Fiora's hand perpetuating the motion like a machine.

5Vahn Fah

"Wha---? You new or something?

Just got in?"

He motioned with his left arm, fingers wide as he grinned even wider now, moving to the right in a slow circular motion as he stared at her.

"Don't you know who I am?"

The fingertips of his right hand drummed lightly along the haft of the flammard, even as he shook his head. "That's fine--- I'll just have to show you---!"

With that being said, he would jump start things, moving forward as he rushed to close the distance between them. As he moved, the grip on his Fang would tighten-- so that when he came within distance of using the blade's length--- which in addition to the length of the hilt (since he was gripping the blade with just one hand) would measure to around 4.5 ft, give or take some inches--- he would swing horizontally with the flammard, a right-to-left motion.

Of course there was no murderous intent behind the swing.

Swording range was awesome, but this chick was awesomer(lol).

6Chrjo12

Fiora fully intended to respond with some sort of sarcastic remark to the man, but...he seemed to have taken some sort of offense to her ignorance. She raised an eyebrow and as he took to swinging his large sword, a smile stole across her face and she took a small leap backward and to her right. She didn't know exactly how fast he was at the moment, so she didn't want to risk getting a nasty cut by counter-rushing him. However....her evasive action did allow her to get her sarcastic remark off.

She giggled again and asked, "Should I know you?"

Her left hand drifted behind her back and retrieved a second black dagger, spinning it once before allowing it to settle upside-down in her hand. The other dagger was held "correctly" still. She was still only somewhere between 10-15 feet from Vahn, so if he wanted to continue his rush, he very well could.

Fiora bounced in all the right places, one might notice.

1?

7Vahn Fah

"Tch--!"

Nothing but air was met as his Fang (which shall be henceforth refrenced as the flammard from this point on) whistled on by, and the bountiful babe went on by to his right.

Depending on the exact measurements of the platform, and the distance in which they had both started at-- and their present distance now-- she had to be pretty close to the edge by now.

Give or take.

The miss wasn't a complete waste of course, as he just 'handed' off possession of his Fang from the right hand to the left upon completion of the arc, pressing on the heel of his right foot, as he spun in place to face her once more.

"Probably not---"

Yellowed eyes kept her in focus, even as he raised his Fang about eye level, point forward and his right hand coming to rest along the middle of the blade, past the first set of guards.

"---but I'm sure it'd help to pass the time." He broke into another dash now, keeping the sword position, before pistoning his left arm forward, thus stabbing straight with the Fang.

She would probably dodge again-- but this time he was ready for it.

8Chrjo12

Just before Vahn started his next dash, Fiora bent her knees quickly and replied.

"I'll make the effort then after the match."

No sooner than Vahn took his first step forward, Fiora rolled forward swiftly and slightly angled to her left. She was short and quick enough to get down low enough before the lunge and to be well past him before he could attempt to bring the blade down on her. The most important item to Vahn would be Fiora dragging her right dagger, which was flipped mid-roll to be held upside-down and backwards (so the serrated side faced Vahn), across the outside of his right leg. The attack was not crippling by any means, but damn would it be irritating.

Fiora emerged from her roll on her right knee, which she then used her momentum to swivel upon to face Vahn, left dagger raised high and horizontally defensively. The defense was reflexive of course. She still didn't have a good guess of exactly how fast her opponent was, but she figured she could at least match him at the moment.

Vahn, should he take notice of such things, could easily tell she was more for speed than strength. Should the attack connect, Fiora's eyes would drift down to her dagger and a grin that could be called quintessential evil would spread across her face as she tilted her head curiously at the blood.

9Vahn Fah

Schiiiiict.

There was a audible sound as her dagger bit into flesh and drew it's trail along, parting both clothing and skin, as both bodies went through their motions.

----Tch.

She was apt enough to read his move, and act accordingly, rolling underneath his dashing lunge to strike at his support.

The metallic thudding of his greaves upon the wooden platform sounded out, as her serrated edge bit just below the kneecap, his jeans not really made with dragon sinew, tugsten, or nintendium. Her cut was stinging a bit with each movement-- but most of all, he was annoyed she drew first blood.

However, his response to her dodging would still be coming--- she had probably anticipated a hammer blow from above, but he had something else in mind.

As she rolled out and stopped, Vahn's right foot would already have been planted down, a small haze of heat rising up (not really visibly noticeable unless one were looking for it to begin with) as he once more swiveled on the ball of his right foot; which would be the metal toed portion of his greaved boot.

With the Fang in his left hand, he subtlety moved the blade in his grip, so that the flat of the blade was now more prominent-- and as he spun counter-clockwise, he would strike from the left-side to the right-side--- essentially backhanding with the flat of the Fang. The muscles in his left shoulder tightened even as he kept his right arm in front of his body, fingers clawed. "Too bad!"

He was aiming to strike out at the crouched Fiora, whacking her with a bit more force than normal in a circular motion as he spun to re-adjust his position and apparently taking advantage of her ogling his blood.

The floor beneath him would noticeably darken, as if someone had left an iron on for too long or something on the material covering the platform.

He apparently didn't have to see her with his own two eyes to guess her position after the roll-- acting purely on instinct..or perhaps something else.

10Chrjo12

Instinct, like it assisted Vahn's attack, also assisted Fiora's dodge. Well, instinct and extreme flexibility, that is. Fiora's eyes dilated as she seemed to snap back to reality, and she leaned backward as far as possible, which resulted in her lying flat on her back with her legs tucked under her. Quite a spectacle.....smilies/icon_wink.gif

Fiora didn't waste any more time now though; in an amazing display of flexibility et cetera, she pulled her legs up and rolled backwards, away from Vahn. She then quickly stood up and leaped back again, placing her left dagger back in its sheathe behind her. A practiced motion made it seem as though Fiora's left hand had suddenly just appeared inside the pouch, foraging for materials that were quickly found. The left hand produced a plain, gray doll held in the palm with a needle betwixt the index and middle fingers.

She shot Vahn one quick glance to make sure he wouldn't be interrupting and she placed the tip of her dagger with Vahn's blood on it into the chest of the doll. The blood began to pour down into the doll. As the blood poured into the doll, the thing began to warp and mold itself into a more human shape.

Surely enough, it was taking the form of Vahn...the grin on Fiora's face widened diabolically.

11Vahn Fah

There was a sharp hiss of metal on wood, as Vahn's circular motion was completed-- again nothing but air.

Wooosh.

Crap..tacular. Yellowed eyes narrowed slightly in annoyance as slid his lead foot back, knees bent slightly as the Fang was switched back to the right hand once more, the entire sword being spun once, the blade's tip cutting along the fabric of the platform.

He was face to face with Fiora once more, eyebrow arched.

"Aren't you a little old to be playing with dolls?"

If she were really paying as much attention to whatever it was she was making happen...then there'd be no denying the fact that the smell of something burning would reach her nostrils. The air around the doll would waver, and seem to fold in on itself...suggesting the presence of something hot..a haze of heat that was emanating from the doll apparently.

Before it would become too hot to handle, and then it would lose all form of definition as it burned from the inside out.

"Teh. Dunno what you had in mind lady---"

But why? Where this heat come from?

The answer was in the blood. Vahn's blood to be specific. Within his body lay the dormant power of something primal...natural to an extent. And while it could only exist in a purely oxygenated state-- the amount drawn from Vahn had been small.

So it had taken a bit of time for a 'spark' to come to life... but once it did--- it was Vahn's to control.

"--- but I never liked playing with toys."

So once enough time had passed-- his blood had ignited, and within the confines of the doll, birthed. Although since it had actually occurred inside something... there wasn't really anyway for Vahn to salvage or pull any out for more usage.

12Chrjo12

The doll would drop from Fiora's hands as a frown began to spread over her face, just as the doll began to incinerate, Vahn might just be feeling some strange heat possess him, like his whole body was searing. However, the feeling would not last long, and he might question himself as to whether it actually existed or not. Strangely enough, the feeling had faded when nothing was left of the doll...

Fiora looked up at Vahn with puppy eyes and a frown on her face--it was almost comical, but more pitiful.

"...it would have been such a pretty doll too....."

Quite suddenly, her sadness warped into anger, and she crossed her harms with a "Hmph!", being careful to not stab herself with her own dagger.

"You're literally hot-blooded. Go figure." Fiora shifted her weight to her right leg and looked away for half a second, keeping Vahn in her peripheral vision. She looked back again and sighed as she added one last thing....

"There goes my fun for the fight. What now?"

4?

13Vahn Fah

The he--ll----?

He watched her, eyebrow still raised. In a way, he did feel kind of bad. Or at least he was telling himself he did. Or maybe he just actually feel bad for half a second there.

Hard to tell.

"Look--- no need to get so upset, lady."

He took a few steps forward, motioning with both arms as the chill in the December air caused a reaction from his bare chest.

"Why waste time playing with dolls--- when the real thing's right here!"

Again, he would charge forward, the Fang held out and to the side, point lowered so it almost touched the ground behind him.

14Chrjo12

Fiora waited for him to commit to the charge with a blank expression on her face, and then she bent her knees and surged forward in a dash. She moved quickly, far more swift than she had shown herself to be earlier. However, she did not attack, block, or counter (though the latter two were quite unnecessary due to what she had done). Fiora got so close to Vahn so quickly that she was actually out of his sword range. Her left hand (no dagger) quickly wrapped around the small of his back and pulled him closer, pressing his body to hers. A tantalizing smile was now on her face as she looked up into Vahn's face and spoke. The hand that held her dagger (right) hung at her side limply--clearly, she had no intentions of using it.

"Lovely, surely you don't intend to...stab me with that thing, do you?" She pulled him even closer, if at all possible. "These are just the preliminaries....we don't need to be so......rough."

15Vahn Fah

--! Yellowed eyes widened as he suddenly found himself meeting her head on-- his left foot stamping down to forcefully halt all momentum so he could bring his Fang to bear.

Shi---! Unfortunately-- not in time, since swinging it at this point would just surmount to flailing it around uselessly.

That and the fact that she was suddenly so in his face--- he felt a chill run down his spine. That electric feeling of knowing something was wrong.

"Being rough is what I'm all about."

He was resisting the proximity as much as possible, knowing he was at a disadvantage in using his blade in this close of a range.

16Chrjo12

Fiora's facial features softened and she almost looked child-like as she began to whisper again. Vahn probably wouldn't notice that as she spoke, she began slipping her left leg around Vahn's right leg from the outside. "You don't always have to be rough..." Fiora sheathed her right dagger behind her and jerked her left leg back, bringing the back of her leg into the back of Vahn's right knee. As she did so, she pulled his torso closer and she herself leaned forward.

The effect? A take-down. Vahn would find himself lying on his back with Fiora on top of him, straddling him as she placed her right palm on his chest. I wonder how much heat hot-blood can take.... Fiora mused to herself.

She leaned in closer and whispered again. "You can be gentle.....

Right?"

17Vahn Fah

"Uff---!"

The back of his head hit the platform, as he suddenly found his balance thrown and his feet gone from where they should have been.

This sucked.

Like seriously, sucked-- harder than a hoover dirt vac. He was practically at odds with whether or not he should retaliate and to what degree. She looked like she would break if he just man handled her... god help her if she turned into some hideous form or something however...

He would hit it like the fist of an angry god.

He was now becoming irritated, losing any appeal for messing around with her he had.

"Lady-- I'm too hot to handle-- so there's no bein' gentle 'bout it!"

Right eyebrow arched, he'd get into that loudmouthed mode, the irritation seeping from his voice even as his body temperature became noticeably greater. Touching his very skin right now would be like touching a iron that had been plugged in a few seconds ago-- that slowly building heat, until it was uncomfortable to touch.

While not much of an offensive thing--- liken to produce any kind of aura, it was more of a viable discomfort and should give him the personal space he cherished so very much.

18Chrjo12

Fiora's eyes drifted down to her hand, and she lifted it off of his chest and examined it for a moment. She looked Vahn in the eye for a moment and closed her eyes for a moment with a smile on her face. She then leaned down quickly and forced Vahn into a kiss.

Oooer, she was good at it too.

Schlick!

Fiora had let her right hand drift behind her and draw her dagger, which she then smoothly and silently slipped into Vahn's side, just above his left hip. She would stay on top of Vahn in that kiss as long as possible before leaning backwards and leaping off of him and backwards to get away. When she would finally have her composure again, she would be sweating and very red and hot. She groaned for a moment, flicked the dagger with Vahn's blood on it back towards Vahn to get it away from her, and finally sheathed the weapon. She then took off her tank top without even a thought it seemed, leaving her in only her bra.

"You....are...hot...." she would say to him as she discarded the piece of clothing.

Notably, Fiora's eyes seemed to glow vividly.

"That is enough."

The official announces the end of the preliminary fight, asking the participants to step out of the fight area and make room for the next set of fighters to enter.

The first round of Preliminaries was over.

20Nihilistic_Impact

Bobbing his head Blake made his way to the small area that was to be his dance floor. It was a lot nicer then many of the places he'd scuffle in; nicer even then the underground rings were he had dabbled in some boxing.

"A shame, such a nice sheet is going to be ruined."

As his head bobbed his body started to sway and he was doing a little dance as music blasted the air with its wild lyrics and instrumentals of Queen - Don\'t Stop Me Now.

Yeah, this hard boiled criminal was a Mercury fan.

Dressed in his suit the crook pressed his fedora firmly down upon his head and spread his feet as he waited for his would be opponent.

"Rules say no killing; but that doesn't mean I can't give him something to remember me by. Right?"

He wasn't talking to anyone in particular, just going through a time honoured tradition of getting oneself psyched for the show.

21Tomorrow

"Whatever you wish."

Donner stepped onto the mat, the small crowd surrounding it parting to allow the large man through. As he stepped on his left hand, glistening metal, wrapped around his fleshy right, the knuckles beneath cracking audibly over the murmurs of the onlookers.

His eye was cocked to the music. A Queen admirer? Perhaps this tournament wasn't all filled with bloodthristy miscreants. And if not, they at least had some taste.

He pivoted his right arm around by the shoulder, loosening it. He was dressed casually - just a pair of black slacks and a white tee-shirt, his long blond hair trussed up into a ponytail behind his head.

"Do we begin immediantly, or is there some order to this?" Donner asked, dropping his hands by his sides, keeping his eyes square on the man across from him.

22Nihilistic_Impact

Blake grinned from ear to ear and shook his head just a bit as he kept his eyes upon the guy he was supposed to be fighting. He tugged at the lapels of his coat pulling the collar tight against the back of his neck and spread his hands out wide.

"I'll be sporting. You get first go of things. I've killed too many people in the back to start off that way here."

That grin never left his face as his hands went back to his side. With a shuffle of a foot he had his right forward and his hand of the same side slid into the pocket of his coat, the other hanging loose at his side.

The size and armoured gauntlet did little to intimidate Blake; it wasn't as though he was staring down the barrel of a gun.

"Well come on now, I'm only doing this once."

-1-

23Tomorrow

Donner's face held no emotion, only a blazing determination in his eyes. He nodded to his opponant's request, before lifting his fists, his right fist forward slightly as he began his approach, his metallic left coming in close, lifted up - a typical boxing stance.

As soon as he was in swinging range of his opponant, he attacked.

A sudden right jab was popped forward, followed by a left straight, his body twisting and his feet moving beneath him to give the punch power. Regardless of whether they were blocked or deflected, his right would come back around in a right cross, each punch aiming for the head.

((1))

24Nihilistic_Impact

The jab came out and Blake leaned back, the knuckles of Tomorrow's fist just missing Blake's face. As he leaned back he also shifted his weight to his left back foot putting him some what out of way for the follow up of the old one two of Tomorrow's straight.

Instead of getting a clean shot the armoured fist struck Blake's right shoulder; but Blake was rolling with it, his body already moving backwards so the blow was dampened. At least he hadn't charged right into it.

A blow had been landed and out came Blake's right hand of the pocket, if Tomorrow looked he might see that there was something in it. It seemed nothing at first but then as Blake was being forced back, even as his right leg slid behind him to keep him on balance, the hand came up and there was a gleam of steel swishing into the air.

Blake's right hand came up beneath Tomorrow's left arm, swiping the blade against the under arm. If he had time for words he might have said something about a free shot only coming once and he had taken it; but the fight was on and there was never any time for words.

-2-

25Tomorrow

This had been Blakes first mistake.

Swiping the wrong arm.

Donner's left arm was completely prosthetic. Totally made of metal. All Blake's shiv would do was spark as it was dragged across the metal - into Donner's awaiting right hand, his fingers catching the hilt and the hand gripping it.

As he did this he pulled Blake's arm out, straightening it across Donner's broad chest, and put his left arm up and over Blake's shoulder, placing his armpit onto it and pushing the prosthesis back, putting his fake tricep into Blake's throat.

Now Blake's arm was caught in Donner's grip, the large Aesir's right hand gripping the man's hand whilst his left arm pressed back against his throat. This began to force pressure against the man's elbow as he pulled back with both his left arm and his right hand, pressing his chest against Blake's elbow.

Now all Donner needed to do was press his chest forward with force and...

...Blake's arm would dislocate.

So he did.

((2))

26Nihilistic_Impact

There was a slight flaw with Tomorrow's plan, it all depended upon him having two left arms. What fighter would waste motion by pulling something out of their right pocket, swing it out to their right and then swipe it to the left instead of just going left to right?

Blake's hand was never caught.

His feet shuffled tell they were even with each other and shoulder witch apart. He brought up his hands to shoulder height. The knife in his right angled outwards as he waggled it at Tomorrow; the left was kept open, ready to grab or block.

-3-

27Tomorrow

Damn. People needed to learn how to read.

But they were still close. Donner didn't back down, but kept on the push. His own hands came up, his palms open and his fingers loose as he stepped forward, keeping the flow moving.

His left hand came forward as he advanced, the palm of his hand keeping the knife at bay by aiming for the wrist, the hand ducking under the knife's blade and grabbing for the forearm. No risk involved with the metal arm, all the better if he managed to capture it, but he just needed to keep it at bay.

His right would come forward as well, his entire body pivoting to the right as his right palm came forward for a forceful push to the chest, putting his shoulder into the blow. The force of it would be enough to push Blake off his feet.

((3))

28Nihilistic_Impact

So far in the match Blake had fallen back to keep distance, retreating against the efforts of Tomorrow; but no more, he was going to stand his ground.

Tomorrow reached for Blake's knife hand; but he just pulled it back closer to his body and lowered it to about his waist, the blade pointing outwards. If Blake's foe wanted to get in close to a bear hug he'd learn the nasty experience of being shanked.

If Blake could have stopped to take time to think he might have thought it a potentially bad move in a tournament that didn't allow killing; for now it was just one precaution his body had done instinctively.

Blake's left arm, which was higher then Tomorrow's open palm strike for his chest would cut down, grabbing the back of his hand and forcing it away from his chest and into the air to the left and beneath his arm.

Following all this Blake threw himself forward, from the bottoms of his feet to his grip on Tomorrow's hand; he used whatever he could to build up force and he slammed his forehead against the bridge of the man's nose.

If Tomorrow was able to put enough force behind a simple shove to knock someone off their feet then Blake's stealing of some of that own energy and his own would be slammed forcibly into one of the weakest parts of the body.

-4-

29Tomorrow

Donner grunted as Blake's head smashed into his nose, the crunch of cartilage loud and the flash of pain mirrored by Donner's own face.

His eyes wild, Donner put a foot back, pivoting his body in retaliation - as both his arms came up, his left ignored by his foe, his right still on the continuous swinging deflection manouvere that Blake had put him on, his hands gripping Blake's head to pull it down into his knee as he pivoted his hips around again and lifted his leg up high.

In order to headbutt Donner, Blake would've had to step into his open arms, arms that had a longer reach then most of the fighters.

((4))

30Nihilistic_Impact

Blake kept the pressure on Donner, when he moved back Blake shuffled forward. Even as Donner's hands came up to try and force his head down he resisted, he didn't need to resist for long because the headbutt was only a prelude to what was happening next.

His arms reached low and his knees bent, giving Donner the illusion of compliance to his strength. Blake was grasping with both hands behind the back of Donner's thigh. The rising knee would only prove an aid in this next venture.

With his hold and using his entire body and Donner's own upwards momentum, which combined would be greater then Donner's downward force, to pick him up and topple him backwards.

Blake was performing a double leg take down and would force Donner onto his back. The knee that was intended for his face would still find a victim in hitting Blake's right thigh and was likely to leave a bruise.

32Abyssal Majesty

"Oh where oh where is my op-pon-ent?"

A small voice sang from the arena floor as she stretched. Her short blue hair danced with her movement. She wore a usual outfit. Low riding, hip hugging leather pants with amazing detail work, a studded belt in which her weapons hung. Little bracers lined her wrist, gleaming in the light. And a tight black top, short in length showed off her chiseled midsection, and clung to her like a second skin. And to her feet, where nice very high heels stood, with metal pointed ends so sharp.

"I just want to shake his hand..."

Tucking a few strands of cobalt silk behind her ear, her yellow eyes patiently glittered in the lights. She was smiling. That's all that mattered now. Cracking her neck from side to side, and punching at the dank air, Asherah giggled.

"Oh where or where can he be..."

33The Crossed Fox

Greetings

Yes, the ronin was late, not completely punctual this day it seemed. No matter, he had arrived in time for his match at least, and not a moment more would pass with his absence. The silhouette of his figure would become very apparent to the eye of his opponent, at least if they were in-tune with their visual perception. Within a few seconds notice, the wave of a dark green yukata would make itself known, followed by a pair of leather bracers around his wrists. Next came his face, hair and eyes. The raven black strands were tied back, with two folds of hair protruding from an area just above his forhead. The multi-colored hues would also make their imprint, hopefully within his opponents mind. Finally, the mantle piece of the appearance itself, his treasured family, Modified Uchigatana, the Yosimoto, was placed within his darker green sash at his left side.

He'd walk in with a smile, and his hands half curled into fists, already preparing for a tough fight. He knew lethality was not an option, so his fists would have to be a primary, next to the back of his blade of course. He would approach the center, and stop about twenty feet short. Having heard his opponents words before, he would outstretch a closed fist, in a show of respect to the female warrior.

"You want it, you got it...."

It was soon to begin...

34Abyssal Majesty

With a gracious smile, Asherah reached out her hand, except her was open and still expecting a fair handshake.

"I don't bite yet. Just wanna shake your hand."

Her eyes were fixed on her opponent. Her smile lingering, her posture proper and poised. Asherah's weapons jingled lightly with a slight breath.

"Well?"

She waited for him to come to her. The handshake was not only for good sportsmanship but to size him up as well. A strong grip could mean everything.

35The Crossed Fox

He'd give a smile over to her, and approach at a slow, but controlled rate. Four steps forward, and planting his right foot in front of him somewhat firmly, he would bring out his hand once more, and grasp her own firmly, though he was suspicious at the moment. No worries though, something still gave him an edge in this situation. Now, if nothing was up her sleeve, he would let go of her hand, and walk back towards his starting point, where he would assume his widespread stance, and bring his hands out in front of him, with the Right higher than the left, and more forward, with open palms as well.

It had begun....

36Abyssal Majesty

While a nice shake, Asherah nodded her head and giggled. She meant well, as always. Letting go of his hand, she backed up a few sets, to her starting point, and clicked her heels on the floor below. Assuming a strong stance, feet planted, shoulder width apart, her left hand open and higher than her right hand, which was closed. Then, she whispered so softly.

"Good luck..."

And with that, she started. She took the first few steps towards him, inching closer and closer to the middle of the arena. Her heels dug at the floor, and scratched up dirt, making little trails.

37The Crossed Fox

Step 1, Step 2...

Kurohas wide side stance wasn;t the most manueverable of things, but he would make do with what he had presented himself with. He'd step forward, starting with his right leg, and follow up with a step from his left. Slow, presented, and very strong in stance. He added just a bit more pressure to the rear, his left leg, so that he could have a variety of movements and techniques in front of him. He took but a few steps, which seemed to be nearly even with his opponents movement speed, and neared three feet from the center. The next step would initiate the starting point of physical combat, where the line would truly be crossed.

He planned three things, ahead, and then took his final step forward, hoping and practically letting his opponent have an apparent open shot at him. However, his hands were definitely placed in a readied position, so the girl would have to be careful with her movements if she were to strike first....

(2)

38Abyssal Majesty

With the quickest of movements, Asherah bolted forward, and slid down low to the ground. And with a sweeping kick, aimed with her right leg she aimed to trip in, or at least cause him to stumble. Her hands, like her feet before, her planted into the ground for leverage. Just in this didn't work, she like him had back up plans.

}2/10{

39The Crossed Fox

Ah, she intended to sweep, judging by her beginning drop. That very first action was very plainly addressed, and gave Kuroha the time to even out the pressure on both of his feet. By doing this, in the spread fashion that they are in, the leg sweep would hit at the side of each ankle, and stop. Sure, it would send a shock of pain through both of his ankles, as well as something through her leg, but the stance is what saved him for this one.

He seemed not to wobble to much upon the impact, and instead start to lean forward a tad after it had happened. Even with such a light lean, Kuroha would jump off his his right leg very lightly, and extended it outwards after doing so at a low angle, even with that of the womans face. The hop wasn't even of four inches, and was quickly supported by the replacement of his left foot from where the right was, as to have a good balance still. The intention was to hit the woman right in the face with the bottom of his wooden sandal. This could definitely break something if it were successful, and could even end the battle on the spot if she could not take to hard of a hit to the head. However, he would see soon enough.

-G'night-

40Abyssal Majesty

Squeaking with the thought of being kicked in her pretty face, Asherah launched herself out of harms way with her hands, making her tumble a bit. Now on her back, and in a vulnerable position, Asherah curled her legs back to where her knees touched her forehead, and with a jolt of energy, did a Chinese somersault to get herself back up again. Her eyes skimmed over his body, planning her next attack, and quickly. Reeling her right fist back, she slammed it into the ground, causing the dirt to fly into the air, everywhere, and act as a cover for her.

And with this cover, Asherah ran into the cloud quietly towards him. Her footsteps could barely be heard because of her size. Asherah's eyes once again met the outline of his body, marking her chance to strike. Reaching out with her left hand, and latching onto the wrist opposite his sword, she jerked back same fist that struck the ground Asherah aimed a powerful blow to the man's face. Even if he blocked this punch, it would still hurt like hell.

"HAA!!"

Out of the Dust, into the War....

She was trying to use stealth to her advantage, and with the dust cloud she had created, it was likely that she wouldn't make an immediate attack. Kuroha suspected, being a ninja in his Twenties, that she wold strike when she thought he would least expect it. Well, his suspiscions were proven correct, when her left hand flung out from the dust cloud, and went for the hand opposite of his blade, the right hand. Her grasp was tight, however, she may have failed to realize his open palmed hands were still in play, and thus her punch would be intercepted with a now tense and open left palm. As soon as her punch made contact with his left hand, it would grasp it, seeing that it had taken the brunt of the punch itself. His grasp would be tight on her fist, and his next plan would take place.

Kurohas right hand and forearm would then rotate 180 degrees, just a moment after he intercepted her right hand punch. The rotation would cause her arm to rotate with it, since it did not seem to firm of a grasp, and her forearm was not likely locked. If this were successful, his third step would commence.

Kuroha would launch his right foot for her gut, and if it were to make contact, his left hand would go for her wrist, grasp it, and launch her over him by leaning down, rolling back, and letting go of both of her grasped arms, as well as kicking off with his right leg. The throw would definitely make a good distance, possibly Fifteen to twenty feet, since she was pretty light in the weight factor.

Elapsed Time: Approximately 3.72-4.14 Seconds for technique completion

}Sighs. Domo desu desu duesu desu.....{

Before he could preform the toss, Asherah wrapped her legs around him tightly, disabling his effort of throwing her. But now, the dilemma with their hands being restrained unfolded. Her grip tightened around his right hand, her left hand wiggling, trying to break free. Using her thighs, she proceeded to further squeeze his middle.

"How troublesome..."

She grunted as she struggled to wrench her arm free, a through hit her. Being that she was not human in the least, Asherah's skeleton was make of something stronger than bone. 'Perfect...' She cackled to herself. Leaning back with her chest and head, Asherah let out a desperate scream to help her alleviate the pain that she was about to create for herself. Rushing her head forward, Asherah clocked his face with her unusually tough skull. If this worked, he could end up with at least a broken nose.

}4/10{

43The Crossed Fox

Ah, she had saved herself from a tough throw by wrapping her legs around his waist. Well, to the judges watching, this would probably appear to be a very odd position, almost inappropriate one would think. None the less, the battle was still very real, and suspicions were extremely obvious. Why would someone put themselves in such a close position, without the use of their arms and very limited use of their legs? Well, there was only one apparent option left, a headbutt.

Kuroha had thought of this as she was struggling with her arms, in order to attempt to break free. His right was held by her left, and her right was held by his left. He saw one sure fire way to stop the headbutt, and possibly turn the tables of the entire battle. Kuroha would also, however, have to be very precise in all of his movements. He needed everything to go according to his mind precisely, and it had amazingly enough, for the most part.

Here's how it would break down....

Kuroha would have to wait for the exact moment for when she brought her head back enough to when her throat was opened just enough for a strike, his left hand would release her right hand, lean his head abck slightly, quickly come up in an inverted position, and wrap around her throat in very quick succession, using his thumb to add pressure to her Trachea. This was an inverted single hand choke, having his hand face opposite of what a normal choke would be, and yet just as effective. He would have her in his grasp for only a moment, as that movement was just for stopping the headbutt and putting her into a slight submission.

Following such a technique, if successful, would be Kuroha leaning forward, stepping once and jumping forward in a diving fashion. He would have to let go of his choke, however, as to not create a lethal damaging impact to her throat or neck. The damage that could be done would range from a deep bruise to the back, slight muscule damage, whiplash and possible loss of conciousness...

He wished her luck in hsi mind if this were all successful...

(5)

44Abyssal Majesty

No one liked being choked. No one like bruises, but Asherah liked blood. And that's just what she'd see. Allowing him to choke her for a moment, Asherah latched her right hand onto his face, digging her nails into his face as her left hand did so to his right hand.

She couldn't take much more of his choking, drastic measure had to be taken. Unwrapping her legs from around him, she slammed her sharp heels into either of his feet, surely going right through them. And to make him stop choking her, her thumb slide onto his eyeball, ans she began to apply her nails to it as well. She, coughed out, her fangs showing a bit as she grimaced in pain.

"Let go of me!"

}5/10{

45The Crossed Fox

((O.o? Okay then....))

Her movements would prove useless, as said in the last post. This would be so, simply because just after he had latched onto her throat with his left hand, he would take but a single step, and launch himself forward into the diving motion. Her act of trying to slam her heels into his feet would prove to just be an aerial writhe on her part. Now, since they were both about to slam into the ground, Kuroha would place his left hand upon the top of the center of her chest after quickly removing it from her throat, and push down on it, as to add some extra pressure for the impact she was about to endure. Her hands were also on his face still, which was going to cause a bit of concern for him. But none the less, all was to happen at this point...

BAMMM!!!!!

They would both impact the ground, with the woman taking nearly all of the force with her back it would be. Kuroha, now free of her grasp, would bounce off of her body, and forward, feeling the claw of her fingers over his face. He would close his eyes, as to protect them, and felt lines of skin rip from the left side of his face. Three nail marks travelled down his right cheek, bloody all the way down. That hurt...

He before he hit the ground again, he'd bring hsi knees forward, and let them slide him to a stop. He had travelled about six feet from the intial impact, nbot to far, but not to close, and with his bounce upon his opponent, it would have caused some extra damage, regardless of what protection she would've had. He feared that the Yosimoto would have to be drawn soon...

(6)

46Abyssal Majesty

Even though she wasn't able to stab her heels into his feet, his slam would be a problematic error on his part, for her thumb was still on his eye, and even thought he closed it, damage would take place. her nail was sharp enough to rip through his eye lid, and scratch his retina in the least bit. However, the rest was out of her control. Her back slamming to the ground as hard as it did wasn't good, but it wouldn't incapacitate her. He'd be able to get out of the way.

Scrambling to her feet, she oriented herself and slid back into her original stance. Asherah was out of breath, in pain, but not out of courage.

"This is nothing compared to child birth..."

She said with a smirk. Her weapons still dangled at ready to either of her hips.

}6/10{

47The Crossed Fox

There was indeed a problem here, his eye would not open, and it was in pain, his left eye to be exact. This proved to be most difficult for him, having only half of his depth perception, and half of his peripheral vision left. He was not going to open his eye from this point on, as the ripped eyelid still provided some protection from the outer air, and wasn't nearly as bad as it could be. He'd clench his left eye shut totally, taking in the pain and turning it into strength. His calm would definitely help as well.

It was time to bring out the Yosimoto, as he was at quite the disadvantage now, having half of his sight gone. After the match, he'd try and deal with it himself, but right now, it was as good as done until the end. He would close his right eye gently, keeping his left one clinched shut still, and he would let his hearing take place of his sight for now. It was something thaat defeated nearly all of his opponents from before, so he would try his luck with it now.

His right hand would slowly reach for the hilt of his Yosimoto, and grasp it firmly. After doing so, he would simply turn his body slightly to the left, and keep his head in the direction of his opponent. He could hear everything so clearly now, having cut one sense, and adding to the rest of them. The woman would probably think he was stupid for doing this as well, but she did not know the extent of which this spanned. She wouldn't realize this either, but Kuroha had just evened out the table for himself....

He would wait, and listen...

(7)

48Abyssal Majesty

Catching her breath, Asherah kept her focus on him. As she watched his every action. She noticed what he was doing, using hearing and what not. It would be useless to punch the ground for cover, other than making him stumble. Her long ears twitched, she had the advantage with her sensitive hearing, and her acute sight. Asherah's eyes then fell to his sword, 'He'll be using that soon', she thought. Thus, this was her time to use her Sai swords.

Taking a quiet deep breath, she let out an ear splitting scream, giving her sound cover to reach for her swords, and hold them at ready. But also by doing this, he must have known what her intentions where, just not her direct actions. Now Asherah waited just as he did, her feet firm to the floor, her hands tightly gripping the sword where necessary.

}7/10{

49The Crossed Fox

The scream did nothing but twinge his ears some. Regardless of what she did, Kuroha knew that not only her, but any opponent would take their weapons into hand if their opponent had already done so. He would keep his eyes shut, and his ears intent on what was in front of him. If she though he was to make the first move, she was sadly mistaken, as he could not. However, he would draw out his blade about two inches from its sheath, as to keep it on the ready.

Remembering what her weapons were, Sais, he also needed to be very careful in his movements, as two weapons against one put him at yet another disadvantage...

}And only two more posts....{

In the blink of an eye, Asherah was at it again. Running forward, she knew that if she tried to spike him with a sword, he could draw his Katana and block it. Her options were slim, but she'd pull through. Jumping high into the air, Asherah slashed down at him from above with her right sword, and straight forward with her other. This weapon allowed her mobility, as well the opportunity to block. Her heels, yet again, could pose a problem for him, especially now that he cannot see her actions.

It was either he was stabbed whilst blocking from her sword and heels. Or getting stabbed head on whist drawing his sword to another part of her body.

}8/10{

51The Charred Satyr

His chains rattled, the sound of metal clinking and clanking against metal was his only distinctive call. They imprisoned the beast, but retained more than enough length to free up some mobility. In each hand was a crude bar mace, it as battered from continuous wear and the flakes of blood from past blows caked the inner crevices. While the practically undead cyborg made his way to the fighting area, the armored fists clenched the leather bound wraps on each mace. He was not a particularly tall bloke, but he was wide and throbbing with immense musculature. None of it was natural, all of his strength was synthetically induced from therapy and stupendous amounts of steroids, HGH, etc. Each armored boot step was another mark into the ground.

A low growl escaped him, the computer ticked away countless simply calculations and equations. Lacking a whole brain would cause for a lot of the computers processing power to go towards insuring things functioned correctly and in a timely manner. The pallid skin on his face was criss crossed with scars and old stitching; yet it stretched into a horrible smirk. A bar mace in each hand, a smirk upon his face, five computers to work at keeping his body in check and the adrenaline flowing unhindered.

One opponent.

Oh yes, these were the things he lived for. The simple desire to inflict pain, as soon as those computers unhinged their control from his primal instincts. Keeping his rage in check, was the biggest task above all. Like any cheesy horror movie that included those distantly related to him. Zombies showed so unkempt rage and anger that they didn't seem human, and were little better than animals. There wasn't a big difference between the two, other than that he had an off switch.

As he waited, with his hands down at his sides and hunched over slightly, the computers started to undo their control. Ever so slowly though, so that time could be spared between the arrival of the one paired to bleed with him. There was no point in him going completely berserk before anyone even bothered to show up.

52The Crossed Fox

Sound is your best friend...

Well, considering the platform they were on was made of wood, a run with her heels would make a lot of noise. That is exactly what they did as well, which almost echoed within his ears. Every step grew louder and louder, and but a few feet from him, approximately six it seemed, they would stop, ending in a louder slam than the others. Well, as soon as they did, his right eye would open, and catch her at the end of her ascent upwards. Was she mad? Jumping always gave the one below the upper hand if they were planning to move out of the way, not block, and that is exactly what he would do.

Kuroha would pivot on his right foot, ninety degrees to his right side, and lean back a little, as so keep him out of the attack range of his opponent. As he did this, she would start and hit the midpoint of her descent towards him. In the pivot, he would let go of the hilt of his Yosimoto for but a moment, rotate its scabbard 180 degrees, and place his hand back on it, having not removed its placement. He wanted this to be non-lethal, and so he used such precautions just for that reason. It was iminent that her descent would end in her own disappointement, as he would draw out the rotated blade before she would touch the ground. The rotation had inverted the Uchigatana, and placed its broad, harder and blunt side in place of the edge. The force behind it would be that of the same as if he were slashing normally, and thus cause some serious blunt damage to the area around her solar plexus. Unfortunately, there was no true way of avoiding such a thing at such proximity as well, which would leave her very little, if anything at all.

If she found any way to avoid such a thing, whether it would be blocking the strike, or just dodging it all together, then there were still a few things that could be done in such cases, however, it seemed all but impossible for her to do so...

53Nightsnow

Not the type of person that loves to wait all the time, it was a rather dull day today when the judges were watching the small grunts and muffled noises of combat echoing throughout this tiny secluded area that came from the combatants here.

He was sitting down, ruffling his hair a bit and eyeing the other fights that were occuring about his vicinity. A bored look that was plastered all over his expression, the only thing that came in interest to him was his katana, impaled onto the floor next to him and sticking up lazily like he was sitting down.

"......"

Good grief. There has to be some way to keep his sanity and focus here...

((EDIT))

And just as he was sitting there doing nothing, he'd noticed the vile, awful stench - also known as bloodlust - permeating throughout the place, coming from one source;

The huge, bulkin.....

....

"Oh...you have got to be kidding me..."

Groaning in despair, it wasn't the first time he'd faced off against people who...well...have enhancements and upgrades covering from their head to their toes. But without the luxury nor the ability to purchase anything even remotely close to decent armor, the man got up from where he sat, pulling his katana out of the ground and twirling it in his right hand for the time being.

"All right, cyborg freak."

He shifted to a side stance, right leg first and left leg bracing his weight behind his position. Pointing the blade towards the would-be opponent, he sighed.

"Let's do this."

54The Charred Satyr

2.

Number 63 reared up it's hunched back and briefly held it's gaze at the one set before him, at the distance placed between the two it would take more than a few long strides before either could engage in mortal combat. His eyes spiraled inside of his head as the cyborgs back bent further away, raising it's chin up to the heavens and crying out loudly. It wasn't meant specifically to intimidate, but usually when you have a somewhat undead monster roaring loudly at nothing: people freaked the ******** out. Saliva and flem shot out of it's mouth like a disgusting spray before he reeled back down to a hunched position. Letting droplets of the spittle hang from his chin and lip. The dead black eyes of his implants were attempting to stare down the man at opposite ends of him. For a brief moment he beat his chest with those spiked monstrosities covering his hands, they left big red welts in the skin and were just a demonstration to the sort of strength each punch of his packed. The chains around the forearms of Number 63 rattled before going silent again; however the low growl escaping his throat did not. The computers were nearly done releasing what little restraint remained and letting all of the adrenaline that would be flowing through him, flow through him. It was pretty obvious as to who would be making the first move as the man pitted against the cyborg stood there in a defensive stance, waiting for the thing to attack him.

Well he would, but it wasn't going to be a slow and steady dance that the swordsman was probably used to.

Not when you fought a true berserker.

Without any further hint or warning, 63 ran forward, his powerful legs propelling each stride as the heavy boots slammed into the ground loudly. He let out a god awful roar, more spit oozed from the sides of his lips as the man made monster's pace quickened. He stretched his left arm back and up as he ran, pulling his left arm across his chest, bent at the elbow at roughly a straight line. The bar mace in the left hand was in the perfect position to strike, it was already up, all he had to do was bring it down with the full force of his upper body and the momentum of his sprinting. While the other bar mace and his right arm were more or less just waiting, probably there against his abdomen to protect his solar plexus from the pointy end of his opponents blade. Although, his arm's elbow was still symmetrical with the right side of his body.

tl;dr

  • Left arm up and gripping that bar mace tightly, while in perfect position to strike vertically.

Right arm and the other bar mace horizontal across his abdomen, with the elbow inches away from the right side of his body.

Currently sprinting like a JUGGAHNAUT towards dude with Katana.

55Nightsnow

((2))

Battle cries are usually horrifying at best, but having more than enough fights to dissuade the inexperienced, the man had no need to flinch, his expression still dull as usual, and only the eyes showing a cautious glare at the hulking beast.

Huge maces, insane strength and with cybernetic implants...

Damn. If only he had some electrical shock or something to fry the equipments off the cyborg...

Excluding the already obvious, the man was in no position to face the cyborg in a head-on assault. Heavily in a disadvantage, there was only some few spots where he could actually strike on the cyborg's skin to inflict at least some damage...

But...

Hopefully the cyborg is an idiot to what he's about to do.

On the unexpected charge by the undead monster, the man quickly moved his blade to the left, angling it down and bending his legs lightly to push him into a slightly hunched position. Retaining the same right side stance towards the berserker, the man thus began to do a charge of his own, keeping his steps rather small and his strides restricted, occasionally oscillating his blade from left to right like performing a minesweep in front of him.

Since the cyborg clearly has more physical attributes than the swordsman possesses, there's only three things the swordsman needs to test out to find some opening against the freak;

The cyborg's resistance to sword strikes against the flesh, how far the gears are interwoven into that bulking, rotting flesh of the cyborg - as in, whether or not there is metallic electronical equipment or armor inside the flesh - and finally,

The cyborg's ability to think and improvise like a strategist.

So when the cyborg is within striking distance - when the cyborg's reach is able to hit the man with the mace, that is when the man would test via trial and error.

56Abyssal Majesty

But there was a flaw to his plans. A block would not be impossible, in fact she would deploy this block with as little effort possible. He must have forgotten about her bracers. As he drew his sword with all of his fancy movements, Asherah was given a split second of time to redirect her right arm. Sweeping her wrist down, she caught the blade with her bracer with a grunt as she landed on the ground. She then slipped her hand over the blunt of the blade, and with a string twist, forced the blade into the ground. Her left blade was pointing right towards his crouch, pressing to the cloth ever so lightly.

Asherah looked up with her chilly yellow eyes, a serious edge riddled them.

Her back hurt, her muscles tired, her hands steady.

"Checkmate."

She said with a stern voice.

"Unless you want something bad to happen."

}9/10{

57The Charred Satyr

3.

Although they held little physical control, they were still in charge of the mental working of Number 63: the computers that is. They were witnessing the world around them through his cybernetic eyes, each taking careful stock of what was occurring the rapidly changing atmosphere. What they saw amused neither them or the cyborgs brain stem. It was if their opponent didn't even have any idea of the sort of blading he was wielding. Previously when he had openly waved it in front of the undead beast, they easily compared it to the many previous ones he had encountered. So why would a man with a single edged sword swing it from left to right? That seemed to defeat the purpose, if you weren't care enough about your timing, you would be caught inside of your guard with little to no way of defending yourself.

This was exactly what was about to occur.

Number 63 had stopped for nothing, only speeding up in his strides. All of the thunderous footsteps just about annihilated the floor caught beneath. As the man with the sword had maintained his defensive stance, which limited his reach considerably, and even went so far as to hunch and aim the sword downwards just a tad; what good was to come of this? 63 had the height advantage, the reach advantage, and on top of that his bar maces each increased the striking range by just a few inches under two feet. At this point 63 was taking off from the airfield, and the swordsman was still taxiing the runway. Trying to get a good feel of the near undead's speed was even harder to define as he still speeding up and there was just a few more steps left. Everything, if the creature could manage it, would come down around his opponent at once. A fitting song for this moment in time would have probably been "No Leaf Clover" by Metallica for that hit line: 'It's just the freight train coming your way'.

There it was, the sword, the stinger of the bee. Sadly for the little bee... the cyborg was a hornet.

The right arm suddenly whipped out horizontally before the left even made a twitch, an unexpected move. He was aiming to cast the sword out of his way and press the attack forward. Things were all going to start coming down hill from here. Keep in mind he was still charing forward, not even bothering to slow down.

58Nightsnow

Just to get the feel on his own range, the occasional oscillation between left and right was nothing more than judging his own distance and how to cope against the freak's reach. And as he watched the cyborg increase its speed towards the seemingly helpless man, he paid no heed to it, continuing to keep his steady steps rather close --

And when the freak lashed out with its right arm, the man, somewhat surprised, but not flinching under the assault allowed his blade to be struck to his left, using one hand to angle and allow the blade to be thrown violently, but not out of his hand.

It was then that he, using the same moment when his blade was pushed off, suddenly ducked as low as possible, using the further bent legs to push off at a unexpected fast speed towards the Cyborg's left side. And using that opportune moment to pass by the Cyborg's left, he went and aimed a simple slash straight towards the freak's left ankle just as he passed by, aiming to injure or immobilize the cyborg's muscle joints before making his retreat to chide or lure the opponent to chase after him.

The bee may be weak, but it knows how to move.

59The Crossed Fox

She seemed to have him in quite the predicament, however, something she did totally had been totally overlooked. She tried to Throw down Kurohas blade with the mere use of her hand. She decided to twist it in his hand, in which he was holding onto it very tightly from his slash, and slam it into the ground. There was no point to it really, because as soon as it did touch and let go of her grasp, he would draw it back towards himself, and jump back about five to six feet.

However, just as he raised his blade into offense once more, a sound rang out...

"DIIINNGGGGG!!!!"

The bell signaled the end of the match, and in his opinion, quite a good one. He would resheath his Yosimoto, and bow tot he woman, saying to her...

"Domo, you were worth the challenge..."

(10)

Then without staying for another word, for say nor listen, he would walk off of the stage, and await either a scoring or the next preliminary matchup to ensue in front of him...

60The Charred Satyr

The cyborg had intended to strike with the right and then follow up with the left, but finding the swordsman no longer there. This proved somewhat of a problem. The force of his downward striking arm brought his upperbody down after him, yet there was nothing to stop the blow and suck up the majority of his built up speed. Nothing of course, save for the ground. The severe weight displacement made the mostly undead creature stumble over himself, fall and do several ungraceful rolls. He came for a stop after about the third, and crouched towards his enemy. Snarling loudly in reply to the foolish act, with the force of the blow there was a good chance that the vibrations of the two metals clanging had at least shaken the swordsman's arms to the point of pain. On top of that, the bar maces were made to break to armor, weapons and bones. If the sword had escaped with no structural damage, that was a pretty god damn nice weapon. Oh and that swing to the ankle? Well, because of his lack of having a target, the stumble had forced his feet up off the ground and well above the blade. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, a swing like that would have very little actual power behind it and would more or less relied on the blades natural sharpness to split flesh. The armor and spikes on his boots would have been more than a match for something like that.

Glaring daggers at his opponent from the short distance between the two, Number 63 gripped the handles of his maces tightly. Both fists were on the floor, as he continued to crouch, not very smooth, but still maintaining a pretty low profile. Both of the cyborgs hands shakily relinquished their bar maces handles and let them hold tight to his body by the leather loops at the end of each. Standing quickly, 63 flexed his muscles all at once and roared a second time. The adrenaline solution running through the synthetic blood in his body forced his previously slow heart beat to pound wildly. The swordsman had pissed him off. Instead of running the short gauntlet to his opponent, the cyborg almost jogged. He was pushing his upper body forward and had his hands pulled up to about collar level; fists open but retaining the obvious shape of a punch. It was like watching a prize fighter storm out of the corner in the ring with such unshakable determination that it would scare a bull straight.

s**t was about to hit the fan.

}Not throw down, but smash the tip into the ground. No matter now.{

As the bell rang, Asherah let out a deep sigh. She stood up to hear her opponent speak. And with that she smiled. Clasping her swords to her hips, she nodded up to him and giggled.

"You too hun."

And just as he did, Asherah turned and walked off the stage, whistling, and leaving behind nothing but a good fight...

The weapon is made to cut through simple flesh and at best through thin steel if used properly. Though not the perfect weapon that can fully withstand a mighty blow given from the opponent's mace, the man wasn't fighting against the blow when it came to contact --

Hell, he allowed the blade to be struck back to give him the necessary position to give a swing towards the freak's leg. If he had met it with some resistance, the weapon might've snapped in half just from the contact itself.

But damn.

He didn't strike the intended target. Making a run at first to buy him some meters and then standing back up and whirling to face the stumbling Cyborg, he quickly took the time to check the status.

And making a strafing motion to the Cyborg's left, running around in small strides and steps, he switched his blade to the left hand this time, letting it skim the ground while he made a circular run around the opponent for it, increasing the distance between the two little by little.

He can't fight the opponent directly --

So keeping himself on the move would fare a much better deal for him than confront a hulking mass of huge force and momentum. And as he watched the freak run after him, he could only grin and keep the speed up, waiting...waiting...

63 wasn't playing that game, he was getting annoyed that his opponent refused to face him directly. Or at least stand up for himself and fight back mono e mono. Rather, like many of them did they tried to put distance between themselves and the monster; in some sad attempt to wear him down with simple hit and run attacks. While it was true that the cyborg was more of the sort to run headlong into the face of danger. It wasn't just that he was accomplishing, rather he was intent upon hitting hard and then not stop hitting. The whole bull run idea was simply there so he could get from Point A to Point B and dominate the opponent. Not hit once or twice and repeat. The quintuplet of computers noticed where the blade was and that would make it easier for him to guess where the attacks would start from. Anyway, to put it simply 63 pursued after the swordsman, moving a bit faster than before but not full on running as his right hand scooped up the bar mace hanging from his wrist and held it tight once more. At the moment, unless the opponent started to run, the cyborg would be on him once more. This time with a lot more control.

64Nightsnow

And why would he face him directly? All of his weapons don't have the necessary ability to penetrate that tough armor or those exoskeletal implants - if the cyborg had any armor inside the flesh - and he wasn't planning on getting hit by those maces or those huge fists anytime soon.

Besides, it was a preliminary match, and he isn't planning on getting serious about it that much.

Continuing to make a circular run around and about the cyborg, he kept the pace up for a few seconds or so until he suddenly stopped, his right hand unsheathing another weapon - the same identical katana held on his left - in a dagger hold.

Without warning he threw the weapon like a boomerang straight at the Cyborg's stomach.

Depending on how things go after the throw, the man would either dash straight towards the heat of the battle and attack any exposed flesh he can if he manages to dodge the first salvo --

Or run sideways and keep himself on the move, dodging and making sure he doesn't get fatally hit in the process.

Assuming that someone had just tried to... boomerang throw? A katana at him, this s**t was getting a little ridiculous. If Number 63 had been an actual human he might have found the entire situation a little humorous; however he wasn't completely human at all. With a simple drop of his left hand (as it was already open to a degree) grabbed onto the boomerang as it was hurled at him. Of course this caused him to twist his upperbody back and cease his running, the left arm stretching all the way to the rear. His gauntleted hand gripping just above the cross guard with the blade pointing to his front. The right arm was still raised and his face continued to glare daggers in response to the almost disappointing attack. He refused to move from this position that practically depicted him about to thrown a javelin; except instead of tossing, he had just caught one.

Why were people giving him weapons?

66Nightsnow

Shoot. Did he throw it too slow? It should've been able to pierce through the flesh...

In other words, whatever is ticking inside the Cyborg's head is able to determine the trajectory and his projectiles before it reached the body itself.

Which meant for the man that future projectiles might not work at all if he tries it again.

But no matter. Upon when the Cyborg grabbed the blade thrown by him, the blade quickly shattered into shards of pieces upon contact, sending hails of metallic shrapnels and leftover remnants of its initial cluster straight into the Cyborg's face and chest.

Like he'd mentioned earlier - it's not meant to withstand heavy contact, and at best it's designed to withstand blunt blows by common type weapons such as normal steel claymores and the sort easily. Anything more exotic or with higher integrity, and the sword shatters from the blow. It might not do fatal damage as a boomerang weapon, but being thrown rather quickly and met against resistance, while also possibility of penetration into exposed skin when it shatters?

There's a fair chance. Not completely likely, but a rather good possibility.

Once it shatters, the man would quickly charge in the meantime towards the Cyborg when he's distracted by the sudden break, running in what seems to be a moderate, close-step motion towards the Cyborg with his remaining blade held directly in front of him. He'll have to confront it eventually --

And throwing that previous blade confirmed his theory about the cyborg. Computer-runned shock troopers, something like that. Armors on the legs and on the hands/arm section....

He couldn't really tell whether or not the freak was completely armored. If that was the case, then he's in a bad position...

Of course, it only made sense for boomerang thrown katanas to basically explode into a thousand pieces when caught by someone wearing heavily armored gauntlets. Of course. Number 63 wasn't even finding this to be much of a fight, rather just an annoying silent argument with someone throwing s**t at him. EDIT: What of the shards though? Well, most of the blade was pointed ahead of him, so they more or less fell to the ground with a clatter like a big back of change had just ripped open. He wasn't exactly concerned with the minor scrapes he received from the rest. END EDIT

The cyborg decided to throw s**t back.

Chuck!

Whizz!

Zoom!

Over exaggerated onomatopoeia for the noises the remains of the sword would make as it was tossed. Roughly a handful of blade and hilt was redirected right back at the charging swordsman as he flicked his left arm upward. Stepping forward with his left leg and standing level with each foot, shoulder width apart hunched with his waist and knees bent. Catching the grip of his other bar mace and bringing both across one another in an 'X' formation. Just as his opponent was close enough to strike, so would the cyborg.

68Nightsnow

Wasn't his concern on how the opponent thought of him. For whatever the cyborg's IQ may be, he had a good bet that, if the computer was ever terminated in some way, the cyborg may exhibit...what, mental retardation around the age of 4?

Nah. 3 sounds good.

Putting himself more into a zig-zag running mode when the shards didn't pierce through some strange unforsaken event, the man made a small mental note to pay a visit to the blacksmith later after the fight to repair his blades. Using the blade in front of him to deflect what was the remnants of his...well, once whole weapon, he finally closed the distance between the two.

On the first step that would bring him straight into striking distance from the cyborg's mace - he still remembers its long reach compared to his blades or -- bah, the cyborg gets the point -- the man took a light gamble by rushing straight into the fray -

And positioning himself so that if by chance the cyborg uses both maces at the same time, he would be too close to let the freak's arms to fully extend outwards.

Weapons won't even dent those heavily armored gauntlets. Nay -- at the moment he gets close, he'll jump right onto the arms and use it like a skipping stone to jump again and get close to the berserker's face.

That should, technically, be the only point where there's no armor or anything of the sort to hinder his blade from piercing the brain or the electronics inside.

However, the man knew better, already figuring a possible counter to his own solution. Especially if the cyborg decides to whip out one arm at a time...

Then he'll have to resort to...

So many things processed in such a little time. Things he must do, and things he can do, all filtered straight into his focus and concentration against dealing at least a damaging blow towards this monstrous hulking....walking piece of...

...

'Thing'.

69The Charred Satyr

8.

He didn't do any of the above things that were expected, nor had he planned to; instead like Monty Python once said:

"And now for something completely different."

Number 63 didn't even flinch as the swordsman continued to charge towards him in a zig-zag pattern. His eyes seemed dead set on that sword as it posed the biggest, if not the only problem to him. Instead of lashing out prematurely or even indicating in the slightest that he even planned on defending himself from being stabbededed (intentional) in the head. It was only until the blade was literally heading straight for his brain did the cyborg act, like a chicken. Not the frightened kind, but like an actual chicken. His bent elbows flapped inwards and this brought the overlapping bar maces to a skew and he started to press up. Due to this, the blade that was heading straight for his head would have had to go right through the opening between the two maces. However because the cyborg had literally mashed the two almost together, the blade would meet an incredible amount of resistance. Of course this was probably warping the blade beyond recognition as well, but the cyborg was the stronger of the two and thus the sword would stop. Unless of course this man suddenly grew Superman level strength.

With the blade tip about four inches away from his head, that was a close one. He had not once paused pushing though, if anything s**t was really about to hit the fan. Bending upwards with his knees, body and everything else that had been bent. His arms and hands continued to hold the sword in that vice grip as he pushed away for a second longer; then by using all of the strength his arms and back could muster; he did the following. The spiked knee of his right leg soared up after his upperbody twisted to the right with a powerful crank and pulled the sword along with the bar maces. This setup his opponent to quite literally be tugged into an oncoming knee strike to the get and or ribs. Now unless his opposition abandoned the sword in the next second or two since all this crap started: he was going to be hurting and even then there was no guarantee he wouldn't be from that point onward.

70Nightsnow

The sword did stop.

But the man didn't plan on just letting it stop. There was a leverage to be used in this conjunction, and certainly the quindruple computer running inside the back of that thing's head has its fair shares of guesses and counters on how to fight off the opponent's sword.

He reacted on instinct; just as the sword halted a few inches away from its intended target, it gave the swordsman just a second to realize the sword won't impale the target. So instead, as the monstrosity forced the swordsman to be tugged into an oncoming knee strike, the man applied force down onto his own sword as if attempting a polevault. At the same time, he reached with one hand up from his momentum from the initial jump and grabbed hold of one of the maces just in front of his view to give him something to throw himself over.

And using his weapon and the cyborg's maces as leverage, he figuratively, literally, pulled himself up even higher than intended, the blade snapping in half from the process and leaving him with a broken jagged piece left extruding from the handle and hilt - and the cyborg left with a piece of his sword being tugged in the process.

This method would throw him higher and away from the tug itself, the spiked leg of the cyborg missing its intended target at least by some centimeters or so.

And just momentarily airborne, even if just from himself pulling his entire body up and off the mace afterwards, he would have one shot;

To impale his jagged sword remain straight into the head, or even into the eye of the monster. If by chance he misses the mark - his body airborne and vulnerable to assaults - there was always the throat where he could stab the remnants of his blade straight into.

Wasn't this supposed be a preliminary match and wasn't this tournament supposed be kill free? The rules seemed to have changed without him being informed of this.

And yet here 63 was, fighting a guy who refused to take a hit, defied physics without breaking his wrists in an attempt to do some sort of weird pole vault. [How do you pole vault upwards without letting go of a sword when your wrists and arms are twisted to the left because your opponent twisted the swords in your hands in order to perform a crank?] Anyway, the cyborg simply twisted around on his left heel as the swordsman took his dandy time floating back to the earth and released the end of his part of the sword from the bar maces grip. Sending it straight towards the remains of the blade in the samurai's hand. If he could animu physics, so could the cyborg.

He would then be prepared to block anything that might soar back down at him with the bar maces, once more in an 'X' formation across his upper body and neck.

72Nightsnow

( Two posts ago I mentioned that the sword was held directly in front of him. The initial clash may have stopped the blade, but the man's momentum didn't stop because of it. So when he was halted, his sword was halted between the maces, but his body was still in motion.

I can explain the action with more detail, but that would be cluttering up this post and sound like an excuse. So, )

Refused to take a hit? The cyborg has the muscles. He doesn't have that much. Each punch or attempted strike would be a fatal one against him, so why should he sit still and let the cyborg hit him, knowing that each punch would be the last thing he'll see?

Just as the cyborg has the advantage in physical force and tantrum, the only thing the man could use to defend or at least stand a chance against this freak is his mobility and spee--

Kerrr-splunk.

Something wet was clearly felt in the man's hand. Blinking once in surprise, it only took just a few milliseconds for the brain to register the foreign object plugged into his arm before a burst of pain shot through the affected region like wildfire.

His grasp weakened, but he refused to let go of the blade held in his hand, no matter the pain. And gritting his teeth as the pain burned ever more fiercely under the motion, he fell back to earth towards the maces, kicking down at one of the nearby maces to use as leverage --

And then, instead of doing something to attack back, he flipped right over the head and away from the target opponent, throwing whatever was left of his blade at an attempt towards the back, coated with his blood and --

Well, he bided enough time with his actions.

73The Charred Satyr

10.

Number 63 almost silently chuckled, the noise was more akin to a hiss. Seeing blood spilled for the first time, he was driven even further into a blood crazed fury. His arms lurched backwards as the man went about using his maces as yet another way to escape being thrashed. Before he could turn around, the remains of the blade sunk into his shoulder blade. The cyborg screeched aloud and twisted all the way around fiercely, raising his bar maces before launching his entire weight full throttle at the now swordless swordsman. If he couldn't kill him, he was at least going to try and smother him to unconsciousness. The sword was still stuck in the bone, but it didn't appear to be even close to stopping the enraged cyborg, and as for blood? It was an off-white saline solution dribbling profusely from the cut, as it already began to try and coagulate around the wound.

74Nightsnow

Swordless?

Defenseless?

Well...

As he fell and landed onto the ground with nothing less than a thud, he skipped a few steps away from the cyborg during the landing process, pointing at the sky with his bloody hand and turning around to face the freak.

"Time's up."

And then realizing how the Cyborg is bent out of its mind to crush him into pulp - or something remotely similar to it - he had his bloody hand aimed towards the Cyborg's face, his other grabbing hold to something just tucked underneath the cloak --

If the Cyborg doesn't want to stop, or if the Judge doesn't intervene...

Well...

On the bright side, he kept his attacks to physical melee only. No secret tricks revealed or his other ability shown to the enemy. On the contrary...
