For a couple of minutes, there was nothing. Just the rumble of the Disturbed tune, and the rocking bodies of several people waiting for a blood bath. In fact, it seemed like, the entirety of the song, there was very little movement outside the actual crowd, and the moshing. How odd. The final notes played on and the crowd began to look around, now realizing the absence of the second fighter. Had he flaked?
"You call that music?" a scoffing voice boomed over the Public Announcement System. From the northwestern corner of the room, people seemed to be shifting aside. Among the crowd, a group of six people seemed to spread out from one. The six were shrouded figures, each wearing heavy cloaks of burlap and black ink. There, in the middle, a single man stood.

"I mean, sure, I guess if you're looking for a lullaby."
Griff Morivan.
The cloaked figures dispersed into the crowd, given little room before they faded into the faceless gathering. Griff alone remained untouched as he stood, given clearance. Above, on the PA, just below his voice, an odd rumbling.
"Now, allow me?"
Exactly fifty four seconds after the rumbling began, the song became more easily recognizable, and Griff approached the ring. It took Griff a little less than forty seconds to reach the gates, where the guards allowed Morivan inside. His thumb reached to his ear, where he mashed... something, a quick, dull blip going off amidst the music and cheering.
"You want a blood bath? Pick a song about a blood bath."

This is Jimmy Rames with Gaia Action News Nine, coming to you at the Heaven or Hell Underground Cage Match. Right behind me, Darious Kaiq and Griff Morivan have just entered the ring opposite one another. So far, this has appeared to be little more than a battle of the bands as opposed to a fist fight, but both opponents seemed to be primed for combat.
In the red square rests Darious Kaiq, a self proclaimed priest who has been acquitted several times of murder and kidnapping. Serving as the spiritual guide of the Lu Bu team this year, it could be said that the generally pacifistic dojo has decided to make this year the bloodiest to date by placing a suspected mass murderer at the forefront.
In the blue stands Griff Morivan, representative of team God Caliber. For the most part, none of that team seem to be well known, save Morivan himself, a two time champion at the now defunct Juliano Arena, which Morivan himself collapsed. A ruthless fighter, Griff has a history of dazzling opponents with his nearly phantasmal speed.
The fight begins on Gaia's ONLY station for politics, sports and nows, Gaia Action News Nine! I'm Jimmy Rames signing out.
