The sewer ways beneath this fallen Metropolis remained dormant and untouched by civilization for years.
Today, that would change.
Shadows stirred along the walls of an access pipe. The eerie silence of the subterranean tunnels was shattered by the distant chattering of voices. Music seeped into the soundscape, quickly overtaking the derelict complex with its upbeat tune. Prepositioned video cameras drew themselves to a single focal point, hoping to reveal the source of the disturbance as it grew in both proximity and volume.
“YA’LL BOYS PUMPED UP? ‘CUZ I AM! THIS IS IT, BABY! THIS IS IT!”
One voice quickly distinguished itself from the general commotion, sounding off considerably louder than the rest.
“WE’RE GOING TO ROCK THIS PLACE, AM I RIGHT? AM I RIGHT?! WOO HOOO!”
The lead shadow separated from the otherwise indistinguishable blob, taking on the silhouette of a man. From the looks of it, the figure was talking into a microphone as he said:
“ATTENTION DUDES AND DUDETTES! MAJOR LEAGUE SCURB BUSTIN’ IS BACK IN TOOOOOOOOOWN! OOOOOOOOO-”
The shadow leapt into the air:
“YEAH!”
-and landed around the bend of the tunnel, striking the most epic of poses and revealing himself for all the viewers at home.
ENTER: TEAM ALL!
The man was none other than Dashboard V. Jowaine. Around his head, he wore a solid blue bandana. His body was covered with a light green jumpsuit. A blue sweatband was stretched around his right thigh with another blue bandana tied unceremoniously around his right bicep. A leather strap was slung diagonally across his upper torso, keeping the kite shield resting along his back in place. If one was perceptive enough, they could probably make out a rectangular bulge resting sideways along the small of his back. That is, if the shield weren’t covering it at the moment. He sloshed his way through the shallow stream of water in a pair of Zori sandals and socks.
Oh, and as for the music, it originated from the big a** GHETTO BLASTER he had slung over his right shoulder, courtesy of Tzenidaar.
"AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!"
The rest of his crew were not far behind.
