Almost time.
Maximos was, a creature of etiquette, of taste, class, and properness. There was a way of things, a way things should be, and while it was oft neglected or more difficult than the more common place sobriquet, Max always chose a high path.
In this particular case, the digital time on his FIGHTER told him that Stephen and the vampires match was nearly through. It was almost time to dance. But before one could dance, one needed to be properly introduced. He needed to actually meet this Miss Sey.
Maximos stood up, and made his way to he nearest side exit of the subway car. Now, it should be noted that side exits lead outside the car into the subway track, and are not safe and are covered with warnings. But Max ignored them all, he squeezed his fingertips between the doors and pried them open slowly but surely. The car was immediately filled with the loud clacks and screeches that accompany a noisey speeding train.
And then, as far as anyone inside could see Maximos stepped out of the train, non-chalantly, into certain death.
There was no splat, no scream, no nothing for several seconds. The ability was called...
Quote:
- Shadow Walk - Umbra Ingredior
Not to be confused with the ability to walk through shadows. Maximos' shadow walk ability allows him use darkness to find footholds, or even hand grips in areas that defy gravity. Maximos' feet or hand are placed onto the surface in question. The hands or feet sink into their own shadow, and into the surface about a half inch providing Maximos a sturdy hold on the surface and allowing him to climb, stand, or even run on walls or ceilings. In rare conditions when the sun is right, this ability is even extended to shaky surfaces such as water. The balance required to perform these feats comes entirely from Maximos' own natural agility.
...And after a few seconds of silence, Maximos' location was revealed.
After having stepped off the train, he immediately smacked both hands on the side of the train car and swung himself flat against it. His feet and hands found foot holds, and he stole a few seconds to adjust himself to the speed of the train. Maximos was splayed out like a spider, his arms bent like a bull dog, his legs bent at either side and his midsection hovering low to the car. The very fast moving car. The lengths of his coat tails whipped violently, his high collar smacked his nose, and dust and rushing air stung his eyes.
His finger tips moved like spiders, inching forward, slowly so he would not lose balance and fall. And when he was sure of himself...
Thump. Thump.
...His feet moved behind him, and Max came into view. He was on the subway car where Stephen and Malen were fighting just moments ago, and despite his attempt at being discreet, Maximos' spider poised form was entirely balanced on the window of the train.
Thump-thump. Thump-thump.
Two hands then two feet, he inched forward maybe a foot, mismatched eyes squinted as they peered from his pale face, black stained lips stretched into a smile. Anyone could see what he was doing was dangerous, magically assisted or not. So anyone could understand why he was moving so slowly and carefully.
Max rocked his weight back and forth, and then...
Th-thump-thump-thump-thump-thump-thump-thump-thump-thump-thump...!
Like a spider, he bolted in a blur of black, hands and feet speeding beneath echoing out a percussion symphony as he, in true creepy fashion, spider climbed across the main fight subcar and onto the car Sey was positioned in. His form sped past the window and then up to the side door. And there was silence.
Then a screech, as the purple black bruised fingertips of his right hand, slipped through the side door, and slowly began to pry it open. Soon, his entire right arm was visible, then his feet, and torso. And Maximos had climbed into the car.
His eyes met no ones, but fell on himself as he let out something of a small frustrated sigh and tugged the edges of his clothes to make everything appear pressed again. He raised his right hand and very loosely wrapped the bandages around it again, revealing the deep violet burn scars covering his arm and hand, and which strangely seemed to have a sort of pattern to them. A magical, almost runic array. Finally he ran a hand through his spikey navy blue hair to be sure the wind hadnt ravaged it too horribly. And then, only after he looked presentable, did he let his mismatched eyes meet the other two. His left, black eye, blinked first, then his white right eye, and then both.
A grey tongue slipped out from his stained black lips, licking them softly and he stepped forward. Silent, he would come to a stop directly beside Sey and Stryphe. His eyes were on Sey, she was even better in person, a soft smile peeking up over the high collar of his black jacket which stopped just short of his ears.
Because they were talking. And he would properly wait for acknowledgment. To interrupt them would have been rude.
You can do anything in the world, but you must never be rude.
At least thats how Max saw it.
