Dwarf E Fort

General - This large room has been filled with flashing lights, clanging sounds and ringing bells, arcade machines almost as far as the eye can see (including the hot new Rage V 7: Revenge of the Avenger machine), and something that resembles a school cafeteria immediately in front of an auditorium stage with an animatronic band playing poorly composed music. The band consists of a giant bat, an anthro pig, a dwarf in a horned helmet, and Robot Kazamaru (which was apparently a leftover prop from the set of You Bet Your a**!).

Natural Element Resource - Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah) Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah) Fun, fun, fun, fun Lookin’ forward to the weekend

Weapons - Skii-balls, telescoping plastic lightsabers, pint-sized basketballs with a keg of rum graphic displayed on the side, scalding-hot pizza, and anything that can be bought with prize tickets.

Bonus Effects - Though there are no rapscallions running around on a sugar-high between arcade machines there are several awkward teenagers in giant foam dwarf costumes throughout the area. Don't worry, the costumes are well protected enough to offer complete protection against most types of attacks and hazard pay is good for helping these youths save up for their college education. There is also at least one inexplicably-attractive-teenage-girl walking around with a camera that will take your picture for two dollars.

2Tres Ecstuffuan

Everybody do the dwarvin tap! Tap Tap Tap! Tap Tap Tap! Everybody do the dwarvin tap! and have a bright sunny day!

The animatronic stage creatures danced beneath the blaring lights on the stage, casting there constantly shifting shadows on the party favor covered tables below. The goofy creatures moved stiffly and with every rotation of every joint the wine of old electronics overwhelmed the horrid music that these creatures "produced". These happy creatures sung gleefully to a very small venue who's sole occupant had enough hate and annoyance boiling within his young heart to fill the entire auditorium. The tall dread headed warrior stood at the rear of one of the tables facing the stage. A vein twitched visibly upon the forehead of his visage beneath his smooth cream hued skin. In his aggravation at his situation he frowned showing off his sparkly white teeth tinged varying colors by the multihued lights.

"You must be ******** with me!", Tres exclaimed loudly, frightening one of the Dwarf E Fort costumed workers. The boy beneath the suit jumped, stealing Tres's attention away from the idiotic display on stage. Tres snapped his head around to glare at the man behind him. He was dressed in a dwarf costume that Tres considered somewhat racist. Though Tres was not a dwarf, he knew many of the dwarves in Sigil's Nine Swords Tavern and he knew that those proud creatures would not have taken so kindly to these foolish descriptions of there kind. Yet this was not the source of Tres's irritation, what really bothered him was something that he was quick to voice to the innocent kid. Tres stepped backwards to turn fully and face the dwarf costumed worker. The powerfully built dread headed warrior got in his face and shouted while pointing up accusingly at the stage behind him.

"Is this some kind of joke! What in Iouns name is this bullshit. I am a warrior not a seven year old. I demand a change in venue! This backwater hoe down bullshit is not worthy of my talents!, the expressionless plastic face of the dwarf stared blankly up at Tres. The teenager was unable to display his fright due to the permanent happy expression on his costumes mask. Tres leaned in closer to the unresponsive worker, apparently taking offense to his lack of reaction. "Are you mocking me you piece of gutter trash!", in truth the teenager was scared stiff. Tres waited for a moment as if the teenager could somehow respond through his heavy costume. Tired of his company's seeming inability to speak, Tres shoved the teenager aside and walked forward out into the gaming area of the party place. "Hmph, out of my way..."

Tres stopped in the middle of the gaming area before placing his hands in his jean pockets. "Where is my team...or better yet where is my opponent. I want to get this over with. Each moment I spend here is an insult.", Tres looked around as he began to feel anxious.

Eventually his eyes returned to the stage where a robot Ryugi was performing the solo of some horrible song. "heh...", Tres chuckled quietly to himself. "At least they got the clown part right."

3Deathgra

“We hope that you… you… y…o…uuuuuuuuu…..”

The last line of the horrid song was cut short as from behind the stage, Joseph appeared with several power cords.

“Ahh Tres, I do believe, forgive my tardiness. I’m sure you will find that This place is less annoying now.”

Joseph made his way over to one of the arcade machines and sat on it.

“Now all we have to do is wait for the rest. But until then how bout a conversation?”

4Tres Ecstuffuan

Tres brow rose as Joseph made his appearance after turning off the machines. Tres appreciated the act but he could not imagine why this man spoke to him like he knew him. The warrior had to remind himself that he was often preceded by the popularity of his father. He paused for a moment before bringing his gloved hands out of his pockets.

"So...who are you again?", Tres brought his hands about to his chest level out to his sides inquisitively. The word 'you' was exclaimed by Tres opening his hands. Tres's eyes followed Joseph as he made his way to the arcade machine.

5Deathgra

“Joseph Walsh, former resident of Sigil, the last Bastion of Humanity.”

Joe looked down at his hands, as if blood covered them.

“However that is a title from another time and place.”

He looked Tres in the eyes,

“I’m nothing more than a man who has seen everything he loved torn from him yet has been given another chance.”

6Tres Ecstuffuan

"Hmph Really?"

Tres's face bore an expression of absolute disinterest at the man's somewhat extended introduction of himself. Joseph said he was from Sigil but Tres did not recognize him. In fact, Tres was not even sure what Team this guy was from and he began to wonder who else would be accompanying him. He hoped someone who was interesting. Tres looked away from Joseph while scratching his chin as if considering what his next move should be. He wondered if he should begin fighting before anyone else arrived, but maybe he thought he should be patient and wait to see what else this Team offered rather than jumping at the first thing he saw.

7Tale Feather

"Joseph Walsh." Alan would appear on the scene with a hand at his forehead. He wasn't even paying attention to the man as much as looking for the switches that controlled the crazily spinning, pointed lights that were going around the entire area. There was no way in hell he'd be able to fight decently with the occasional hot pink image of a dwarf mug blinding him in the face. It was like they pinned him in this s**t just to piss him off, and he already arrived plenty angry as it was. If he wasn't going to be able to find the switch that shut these lights off, he was going to start ripping the damned things from the ceiling, one frame at a time.

"You're the moron with the geek chick who decided pissing off the special ops in Sigil was a good thing." Alan would say, giving the man a glance. "Didn't think I'd meet you here. Today just keeps getting better..."

He would roll his eyes to have them land afterward on one of the many Pizza's around. "At least there's food."

“Ah Alan. Fancy meeting you here.”

Joseph returned the glare with a sly smirk.

“Now that you’re here, my opinion of who I wanted to fight has changed. Say Tres, How bout this match up. Me and Alan, You and Samayou, and the last match can go to whoever gets here first.”

Popping his knuckles on the Arcade machine, he looked over the lackluster fighting stage.

“Well then, let the First round of Heaven or Hell Commence!”

Joseph stood up, pulling his knives out and staring down at Alan, waiting for the first signs of movement.

9Tres Ecstuffuan

"Fine. Victory will be ours either way."

Tres said dismissively.

"Don't make me have to jump in there Alan, get your head in the game.", Tres said to designate himself as the striker.

10Tale Feather

"Yeah... I'll just be over here... Too many god damned lights." He would shoot Seig an intentional glare. Alan wasn't much for wanting to help, but who knows, there might have been a heavy handed hint there.

But Alan did not seem very interested in the fight, himself. Joseph in his last encounter acted like a complete and utter idiot back in a far more real, far more imperative situation....

Wait, no that was a motivator.

So why the hell was Alan walking away from the man who had drawn blades towards him to one of the ticket games? Even putting a coin in one!

Because, that particular game...

was Skee-ball.

Heaven or Hell: Round One

Theme: Gundam 00 By Kenji Kawai

Post 1/17: Do I get tickets for smashing his nose in?

cunk-clunk-clunk-clunk

Alan was quick to grab the first ball that came down the metal and wood side railing.

In spite of his opinion of the absolute b*****d his team leader was. Alan had taken Tres's advice to heart, and had spent the time walking to the skee-ball table to focus on an element, something to clear his head into the combat. Having chosen it, and provided he didn't get a chair to the back or anything. He'd have it at the ready by the time he finished the quick aim at the guy's face.

If Joseph didn't realize what Alan was doing by then and try to stop him, then he deserved the Skeeball getting chucked right at his face. Alan wasn't a half bad aim with it either, throwing it like a practiced baseball player. Thought it might not have been as accurate as he liked. These damned blasted lights were were going to be a continual problem. At least he had lead them away from the main stage area for now.

Actions: Coining Skeeball game, Chucking Skeeball towards Joseph's face.

Intended Damage: Broken bridge of nose, concussion, all the various goodies that involve having a weighty ball chucked in your face.

Combat Enchantment: Wind Element Charged.

11Abyssal Majesty

Off to the side and way out of the way, the songstress clapped her hands a few time before cupping them over her mouth.

"Go Alan!"

She called out before clapping some more. Hey, of course she was there to cheer him on. Not only did she promise, but she wanted to.

"Whoo!"

12Tres Ecstuffuan

"Ugh"

Tres spat harshly out loud. The young warrior crossed his arms in front of his powerful chest. Anyone who knew Tres knew that he hated not fighting. When it came to combat he was an anxious individual. He could hardly contain his desire to shove Alan out of the way and fight himself. Tres however wasn't stupid and if there was anything he could do it was control himself.

13Lady Gilaen

"Am I late?" Lovi entered the scene in a state of disarray, tugging at her sleeves and collar to adjust her suit. The day had gone off to a late start and this particular piece of clothing had proven difficult and averse to all haste.

A quick scan of the "dining hall", if it could be called that, told her that however close she had cut it to the deadline, there were more yet unaccounted for.

"Where is everybody?" She left the question open to the two others already in the room, one her team captain and the other, presumably, one of their opponents. She checked the contraption on her wrist to be certain of the time. She couldn't help but take notice of the eclectic scent of the place, a mix of the so called food, perspiration and the remnant stench of excitable (or else rightfully terrified) children. She coughed once and covered her mouth and nose to save herself the complication of breathing it in too deeply.

A projectile whizzed past her line of vision, far too quick for her to see what it was, though it's intended target was evident.

14Tres Ecstuffuan

"Frightened...I'd assume..."

Tres said in response to Lovi's question so as-a-matter-of-factly that it would come across as comical. Whether or not he was talking about himself, his team or the surroundings he left ambiguous on purpose.

"Your not late, hopefully the other team gets here soon. I'm ready to end this."

15Glory Sieg

"Alan, that's not how you play the game!"

Gloria walked up behind Lovi. Truth be told, she had been scoping the place for a while, but her ego was confident that this wasn't the location of the fight. Turns out she was wrong.

"Sorry I'm late, though. I kinda thought this was some big joke so I didn't want to be the first one to get punked. I haven't been in one of these since that one date a while back. Thought these places all got shut down."

She leaned against Lovi for support as she caught tail end of the passing blur that was the skeeball.

"You're letting Alan go first?" she asked her mentor, a confused smirk on her face. "Something up?"

16Tres Ecstuffuan

"No apparently someone on his team has called me out...", Tres began turning to his team mate and student. "Yet he doesn't have the decency to at least be pragmatic about it. Its a damn shame that only the new guys can make it to the bout on time.", Tres said with a clear amount of annoyance in his voice. Tres watched out Gloria stuck to Lovi, he was beginning to understand that out of everyone here Gloria found her to be somewhat of a kindred spirit. It was understandable, there personalities were similar. Both of them were strong, independent women. It seemed strange that Tres tended to surround himself with those who were quickest to confront him. Tres didn't blink as the skeeball hurtled towards Alan's opponent and as it did he began to have some interesting ideas about his less than admirable arena.

17Duskbringer

{OBLIVIONIC}

The Void Lord takes one step into the 'Fort' and immediately raises an eyebrow at what he sees before him. Arcade machines and other game stations, people dressed as oversized dwarves, and a now-powered down animatronic band... with a certain individual on the end.

He fights down the urge to yell out RYUUUUUUUUUUGGIIIII!!!

Though he appears rather strained before letting out a deep breath.

And what's this?

An arcade version of Rage V?.... Des' expression lowers as he points inquisitively at the image on the side.

"Say.. that looks an awful lot like an annoying cheerleader that sidelined during the Sparta vs. Fractured fight back in '07."

And his gaze fixes back upon the 'band'.

"And they just happened to have a robot version of my opponent from the Old Skool vs. Ryugin fight of '05.... Where the others might view this as mere coincidence, I view it as something bigger - Providence. There is some fate twisting at work here."

Desecrator raises a hand over the left side of his face and wipes away, appearing confused. He shakes off the 'psyche' effect of such connecting-the-dots. The first thing that comes to view when his vision clears is the fight starting between Joseph and some other guy, probably of Team Sigil.

And so relegating himself to 'wait his turn', he heads along the side with approach to his opposition - to get a good look at them. None come to memory, but he finds something familiar about Tresondros. Showing no sign of interest, save a second-too-long glance, he turns his attention back on the fight....

Never know when he's gonna have to jump in.

[Joseph v Alan

pt 2.

1/17]

Alan would find that Joseph had started to move as well, running towards the door marked, Phaser Tag.

Inside Joseph would find a blacklight lit room about 4000sq feet. Green, red and blue, black lights covered the maze like walls of the Phaser Tag arena.

Joe was clad in an all black β5 combat BDU, his only real advantage in this environment. He made is way down the right of the main area, turning left, right, straight, right, right. To his surprise he found that he was on a simi-elevated position. It was about 6 feet off the ground and allowed a good sniping position, if Phaser Tag was the name of the game. However now it allowed him to see the playing field and notice some things about it.

In the center was a plaza area, a small circular area about the size of half a boxing ring. Diagonally from him on the opposite side of the Arena was a similar elevated position. The rest of the area was a maze of hallways, perfect for confusing an enemy.

The Aura warrior waited for his foe to enter and to observe his path.

19Tres Ecstuffuan

"Hey you...", Tres said across the the play area as he watched Joseph run away into another room. "Where your buddies at?", Tres spoke up clearly to the desecrater over the shrill noise of the rambunctious singing coming from the stage area.

20Tale Feather

Heaven or Hell: Round One, Alan vs Joseph

Theme: Gundam 00 By Kenji Kawai

Post 2/17: Creatures of the night.

Clang, Shatter!

The Skeeball Alan threw went wide as Joseph fled slamming into the adjacent prize booth for the ticket games and shattering the glass frame that held the little bracelet trinkets that sold for 50 tickets a piece.

Sighing, Alan grabbed two more Skee-balls from the stand and chased after his opponent.

"Haaay, yer not supposed to take them there balls away from tha game!" Shouted an awkward teenager in a dwarf outfit, who wasn't properly informed of the tournament event. He was a part time worker anyways.

Alan got to the 'ready room' of the laser tag area when he pause for a moment, smirking to himself.

You see, like any other cheesy place with a laser tag room, the actual arena was preceded by a 'ready area', which contained the clunky and flashy little suits the players wore and had the game attached, as well as the computer that recorded all the information. And all of the light-controls for the arena itself. It was this last thing that caught Alan's eyes

"Oh ******** yes!" He exclaimed as he slammed all the light switches off. to encase the Arena in darkness.

You see, Alan had no problem at all seeing in darkness. He was born and raised in a world without direct sunlight. It was the erratic lights of Dwarf E Fort's main play area that was giving him such a trouble. But Joseph managed to pull himself into an area where the lights were easy to access and shut off. Which let him turn the tables sharply around. Now instead of a location where Alan would have a hard time concentrating and seeing Joseph in detail, Joe would have to fight Alan in the dark.

Unless of course Alan wasn't the only one in the room that could see in the dark.

With all the time that was being wasted in the pursuit, Alan began formulating a plan in his mind, as well as the focus to merge two of his elements together. Alan would duck into the darkened room quickly and almost fully close the door behind him, leaving a crack in the door way provide just enough light for his light-sensitive eyes to see.

He would, however take a left turn away from the path of the light turning a corner in the maze itself before leaping and climbing onto the six foot wall of the maze to crouch on top of it, a feat not difficult at all for a creature like him. Alan's 'air blatter' significantly lightened his weight in general, and being accustomed to perching on thing made it easier for him.

Moving on top of the walls put good ole' Joe right in Alan's line of sight, being able to easily pick out a man dressed in black against what would still be seen to him as a neon-bright section of paint and plastic railing, as Laser Tag places tended to heavily decorate their arena's with.

And with no blinking lights between him and the target, Alan sent another Skee ball wizzing again towards the agent's face, this time his aim was a fair bit better than before, even having to balance himself.

Actions: Pursuit, Cutting the lights to the Lazer Tag Arena, Chucking Skeeball towards Joseph's face. (At first you don't succeed...)

Intended Damage:"Ahh ********, what what was that that just bashed my face in!?"

Physical Traits in use:

Light Sensitivity Wrote:
  • Alan has the ability to see detail in low-light or near-dark situations. He cannot see in absolute darkness, however. Additionally, bright lights have a larger chance of blinding him than most other creatures. Highly lighted or bright areas harm his peripheral vision.
Winglung Wrote:
  • The Avionic ability to create lighter-than air gasses inside the body to suspend his weight. Full blooded Avions can use this to gain flight, but as Alan's bone density is too high due to his half-blood heritage, Alan cannot sustain flight without magical support. It does, however, aid in acrobatics, physical speed and mid-air recoveries.

Combat Enchantment:

Element Combine in use: Wind, Fire

Click, Creeeeeeek.

These where the two Audible sounds Joseph heard. The first being the lights, the Second the door.

He pulled himself down into cover, just before the skeet-ball hit the wall where he had just been.

“You can see in low light. This may have been a bad choice. However there is plenty of cover and my eyes and ears will adjust. Its still a stalemate, you just have a slight advantage.”

Joe talked as he moved, lightly and slowly down and into the maze. He used the walls to cover his back and was paying attention to any sudden sounds.

I know just how to play hell with your vision, all I have to do is get you to come to me.

22Duskbringer

Desecrator yells back,

"They go where they will. I expect atleast one more to show. I suspect it is he who you will fight. But while I'm here, perhaps we can decide on who my opponent shall be?"

Des moves in a little closer to tone down the noise pollution obscuring their conversation.

23Lady Gilaen

Duskbringer Wrote:

"They go where they will. I expect atleast one more to show. I suspect it is he who you will fight. But while I'm here, perhaps we can decide on who my opponent shall be?"

Now that was a good question. The man didn't have much of a choice between the two that remained, so if he had any personal issues with striking women...well, now would be the time to get over it. Lovi stood much taller than Glory and carried herself with a calm demure while her pink haired companion had a playfulness to her that was hard to ignore (or resist at times). Despite the differences in their general manner, the two clearly shared some issues of attitude and an unbreakable, if not totally stubborn strength of will.

"What do you think?" she addressed her teammate with a hint of amusement beneath the deep tone of her voice, "Do we let him pick or do we decide between us?" It didn't matter, really. Lovi had no history with any of these people, nor had she any reason to jump at the opportunity, shamed though she should have been at her performance in the preliminary round. Still, waiting wasn't a very appealing prospect, either.

"We don't have to wait for them, do we?" she gestured with a nod towards the battle in progress. Alan and his opponent had disappeared into Goddess knows where, but she imagined no part of that place was void of the nauseating atmosphere, and she wasn't eager to delve deeper into the theme-oriented hell hole.

24Glory Sieg

Gloria looked at Lovi, then looked at the guy complaining about not having an opponent. She didn't want to force Lovi on the guy, but she didn't want to throw herself on what might as well be the chopping block. She had fallen to the deception of ignoring Yasuo's water urn during her prelims, but she made sure she kept an eye on the larger man's 'Bag O' stuff'.

"You can go at him, Lovi," she said after a moment. She knew her teammate was a bit sore at her lackluster preliminary bout, so she figured she would give her a chance to recover some of her ego.

"Still dunno who this guy that's gunning for Tres' nuts is though," she commented, hearing already two comments about their third being a victim for her mentor.

25Duskbringer

Desecrator eyes the two women, evaluating their appearance in terms of capability and equipment. (Asking for visible equipment, and ... body type?)

He personally has no scruples fighting the fairer sex - they usually produced more interesting tactics. It makes him laugh actually, in memorium of those he fought before; namely his ex-lover as well as a 'soldier' of a certain long-dead order. Good times.

He kneels down and drops his duffel on the floor, opening it up in preparation for whomever decides to face him. The items he would pull forth from it depend largely on his opponent. Perhaps to egg them on,

"No rush, ladies... We've still got two fights before ours."

26Tale Feather

Heaven or Hell: Round One, Alan vs Joseph

Theme: Gundam 00 By Kenji Kawai

Post 3/17: This fight lacks BURNING.

Alan didn't say anything in retort. He had gotten what he wanted, well, sort of. He really did hope that Joe would have taken a Skee ball to the face. But he had one left so that hope was still alive.

But that scheming mind of his was still in motion as he saw his opponent duck into the corridors of the maze. The nice thing about being on top of the walls, however, meant Alan had a vantage point, and could track his motions and use the formation of the maze itself to his advantage.

In this, Alan would let his wings unfurl for additional balance, as he bounded from wall to wall in pursuit of the agent. Keeping them close comparatively, however, as they had a wide span and if he was to dive in after Joeseph, he was going to need the room. Certainly Joeseph could hear the occasional footfall at a distance above him if he really strained for it. However this was a laser tag zone after all, the loud, corny techno-remix of dwarfish drinking songs edited for PG content blaring through every available speaker might hurt his attempts to rely upon his hearing.

Alan would pace with Joseph towards a corner turning into a narrow corridor. This is where Alan would close the distance. Once Joseph entered the corridor, Alan would pass above it from the side in front of Joseph. As he did Joseph would hear a distinct snapping sound of Alan's Katar blade in his right gauntlet extending out and snapping into it's locked attack position.

Ker-snap!

Then Joe would suddenly get his vision back as a wake of fire descended at him.

Foosh!

Alan released the energy he had built up, the combined elements let loose through Alan's blade. It created a sharp wake of burning energy, fifteen foot long, running parallel to the walls at the center of the corridor. Spanning its length and threatening to strike the agent, which if hit, would not only cut him, but would light the path of the cut on fire for a time.

Joe himself was not the intended target, however, as much as the corridor floor. For if it struck the floor itself, a five foot tall wall of fire would span the length of the slash as it impacted the ground. The entire corridor itself would then become a fire trap, as the intensity and proximity of the flames in that small of a corridor would make it impossible to navigate through it along the sides without getting burned, or such was the plan. Alan took care to make sure that the majority of the slash, and thus the fire, would land in front of Joesph so that continuing along the corridor was not a wise thing.

Landing on wall that lead to the initial turn. Alan would check Joe's for whichever direction Joseph choose to go to try to escape the fire. If Joseph got caught by the strike, so much the better. If not, Alan would take the opportunity to immediately pounce at him once clear of the flames, ready to manually smash the b*****d's face in with last remaining Skee-ball, still gripped tightly in Alan's left hand.

Actions: Pursue and corner, Used Element Combine of Air and Fire to light either Joseph in the corridor, or the corridor floor itself. Intended pounce on evasion once clear of the fire.

Intended Damage:

Element Combine -

  • If Struck: Laceration by Gale Rend followed by 1 round of being lit on fire from the aspect of Flametoung. (Natural fire may continue occur after duration.)
  • On Evade: Possible Burning (and possibly lit on fire) by 5' wall of fire produced from strike upon ground. Pouncing strike with wielded Skee-ball to the head/face (and resulting blunt force trauma).

Physical Traits in use:

Light Sensitivity

Winglung

Wings Wrote:
  • Alan possesses a 14' wingspan of owl-style wings, colored blue on the outside and black on the inside. These wings allow for aid in Alan's gliding abilities, as well as giving him the ability to change his course mid-air (subject of course to laws of inertia.) They also serve as a conduit for Alan's Wing Recharge, and can function on the level as additional limbs. Due to the unique physiology of the Avion, these wings can contract and hide themselves into cavities in Alan's back. Expanding the wings leaves these cavities more vulnerable to piercing and striking weapons. (Tough outer hide covering the cavities provide better resistance towards blades than normal skin.)

Combat Enchantment:

Effect: Element Combine Gale Rend + Flametoung

Used: Fire,Air

Right Talon Cooldown: 3

This was not the Dark tournament, he was not at his element here so his entrance was simple and clean. The 6’6” 349 pound behemoth of a man lumbered into the strange building, immediately the blaring lights and noise caught his attention, followed by Joe in his fight already. The Devil of Rock Fist knew many of the people on the other team, he was not a man of aggressive nature when unarmed so he stood off in the distance, near one of the kids tables and away from the fight. At his height and weight he was a prime target and in fact the largest athlete this year to compete in the HoH, meaning he had a big bull’s eye on his back.

His size plus the mammoth legend behind his name and reputation made him a prime target for young glory seeking fighters, thus the veteran war hero kept to himself and watched as his Team Noble comrade fought for his honor. He would take the scraps and pick his opponent based on luck, allowing someone to come to him ro taking whoever would be left over.

28Sins of the Sun

Although Mr. Dharrei himself was a little late in arriving to the fight. It was probably due to the fact he had no mechanism reasoning. Since they were a bit of a foreign thing to him he wasn't used to. At the very least he could offer some relief if his team-mates needed it. Dressed in a coat that was clearly meant to obscure the view of his armor and weapons. He arrived none-the-less to show his support to his team. At the same time however he admonished himself in his mind for not being a bit more prudent to show faster.

At the very least he could come and figure out who he was to fight. And then soundly defeat them to advance, them to the next round. The club was a boisterous one that didn't really fit any kind of location he would want to fight. Far to closed in to many people who could receive collateral damage. Who in the hell would sanction a fight out here in the first place? Were the promoters daft, or just plain incompetent? Shaking his head the jet-black eyes of the soldier looked on regarding the others there. When Rhezzo himself ignored many of the onlookers who eyed the 5'11 figure with object reluctance to introduce themselves. Fine let them just pass him by without looking at him there was no harm in that. At least if they didn't know him he could easily get past to find where the fights were.

Pushing through to the crowd he made his way through to a make-shift arena where he politely stood. Looking toward Joe, though it might be wise to speak up he could tell that Joe was a little subdued and thought better of it. Looking at the other individuals there, he wondered if he should pick someone and make a match, or let one of them approach him.

"Speak of the Devil", Tres said in response to Gloria with a smile on his gaunt face. Tres turned after speaking to steal a sharp glance at Sam, with his blue eyes narrowed in a vicious glare. As soon as he made eye contact his eyes would flash green with psionic power sparking through Tres's muscles as if his mind yearned for combat as much as his body. Tres knew Sama and Sama knew him, in that moment Tres realized why Sama had called him out. Tres turned his body to fully face the blackened devil even though he stood in the shadow. The dread headed psion walked towards Sama over near the stage area with the tables, while pulling at the brim of his right hand glove with his left hand fingers and tossing his dreads out from the front of his face dramatically, revealing the scar that etched itself along the side of his face down to the right side of his lip. The teenage anxiousness, you could see it on Tres's face.

"Do you think your Rock Fist...Can defeat me?", Tres questioned out loud. Psionic energy began to course through Tres's body as his body naturally prepared itself for actions. His pores opened coating his fair skin in a thin veil of perspiration causing it to glisten in the multicolored lights of the play area. Whatever Sama's answer, Tres continued letting his voice boom over the howls and hoots of the various animatronic actors around them. "Well...on guard. I'll let you try my Zuo-ken Style.", Tres was slightly smaller than the ebony skinned opponent but not by much. Sama did not tower over Tres like he would many of the other competitors. Tres was only about four inches shorter than him and they looked to be of the same build despite Sama being heavier. Whatever the difference in strength, Tres had no fear.

Sama could smell the power, it was an odd one indeed...Psionic? When did Tres gain Psionic abilities, this was a new development the Devil was not prepared for at all. The beast of Rock Fist had weathered elementals, physical trauma, energy blasts and hard lead bullets but only a few times had he ever fought a Psion…Ertai being one of them. Could the Devil steel his mind from the psionic waves and energy concussion blasts? It was a test of will and mental fortitude in which the Devil was confident, but still taken back by the development. However if any worry or doubt was in his body his granite face did not show it. The white eyed monster glanced at Tres, not once changing expression or stance. He stood tall, arms crossed over his chest glancing out over those who where competing. His voice booming like the thundering hoofs of a thousand wild horses running across the open plains, drowning out almost all noise.

“Tresondros Ecstuffuan, son of Sieg and Athena Ecstuffuan. The Mother a Greco Roman Grappling Genius, the father a Hand to Hand Expert and Master of Jujitsu. For those two to produce a son, never have I seen such a potent mix of determination and athletic skill.”

Still the Devil remained in his position for it was not his turn to fight, it was Joe’s turn and so if Tres wanted to battle the Devil another time then he would need to wait his turn. The Ebony Warlord would not back down from a fight, but at the same time he wanted to fight others, new people who he had never met, he hoped Tres felt the same. But anyway it happened the Devil was happy to have a challenge.

((Except it is your turn to fight, Sama - all fights can be done simultaneously now. This is why the default rule is the alt being a designated striker. So, get posting - you guys only have so much time left.))

32Damnatus

"Oh you don't know the half of it."

A grin sprang upon the dread headed warriors face as his dreads rose in a non-existent wind, fluttering wildly like the heads of a viper standing high over its prey. Tres's teeth glistened brightly in the bright multicolored hues of the stage area. The tall warrior took in a deep breath through his nose and exhaled emerald vapors that seemed to be crystals half formed from a bright gaseous energy. The emerald king nature of Tres's soul only showed itself when he knew he was in for a real fight.

Tres stepped forward with his left foot raising his arms up to about his hip level. This step spread Tres's feet medium width from one another with his left foot in front of the right. Smoothly from this position Tres pushed off of his left foot while swinging his right foot to his left.

This bouncing step moved Tres to his left in a circular path around Sama beginning a rhythmic dance of fancy footwork. Simultaneously his right hand moved up to brush his nose with the tip of his thumb and his left hand dropped down low. Tres fought Sieg before, he would know the Jeet Kune Do footwork.

Sama wasn't a push over, he was bigger and likely stronger than Tres. However, Tres doubted the devils technique and he would test it now. As Tres began his footworking lateral movement around to face sama's right side just outside of striking range, his FIGHTER sparked to life, glowing brightly between his wrist and his bracer armored forearms.

His right hand dropped on guard in front of his face after brushing his nose while his left hand stayed low around his left hip area. Suddenly after Tres attempted to move in front of Sama's right side, he stepped forward with his right foot. Was he transitioning into southpaw stance?

No

CRSH!

The step forward was just a set up for the left low muay thai round kick. Tres's constantly shifting footwork and stance was merely a distraction to mask the body mechanics that would give even the slightest telegraph to the left low round kick. Tres's dura-steel guard covered left fore-leg would come crashing down against the side of Sama's lower right thigh in a tight arching path, allowing Tres to bend his right leg to sink his weight into the powerful blow.

The kick was so strong that it would smash through the leg of the table Tama had been leaning on as if it were not there and collide viciously into the devils lower right thigh. The damage caused by this attack would make it difficult to move quickly on that leg. However due to Sama's tremendous weight he did not have to worry about his own leg being knocked from under him. The table Tama leaned on would begin to slump due to the destroyed leg.

{{O ok cool, sounds fun. XD}}

Tres VS Sam Post 1

The Devil saw the stance, knew the style, felt the energy. The Devil would lower his arms as Tres moved in, breathing in deep as the Roman style fighter relaxed his body and then sprung into action!

Unlike his qualifying match the Devil was not going to stand around and wait…no….not with Tres.

That 349 pound compacted frame bolted in a quick step forward just as Tres moved to his right. Hearing the sound of breaking wood as the table he had been near was broken, out of his peripheral he saw what appeared to be a lower leg kick. Guess both men had decided to attack at the same time. Sama however stepped forward with his left side quickly, his massive reach thrashing out a left jab directly to the nose of Tres with blinding speed. He felt the brush of Tres’s left leg on his lower body, Sama had assumed the kick was meant for the lower right thigh of the beast, however since they had attacked simultaneously the target Tres had aimed for had in fact moved.

Now here is what would be interesting, could Tres defend himself while on one leg, and it was recorded that even a simple Jab from the Sama could knock a man out. If Sama’s jab hit, blocked or not, it would defiantly throw Tres off balance. That was a guaranteed though the Devil was unsure of how well balanced the boy was. Meanwhile the Devil kept his right hand about center chest, a loosely formed fist that was relaxed and ready.

Clink!

Joseph turned around and dashed forward back the way he came. The fire attack flew over head singeing his hair, but he kept going until he heard the ruffling of feathers that accompanied Alan’s decent towards him.

“Tier 3”

The aura restrainers on Joe’s arm lit up first red, and then zigzag lines of green replaced them, a sign of his power unlocking from within. Golden lights appeared and formed the blade extensions to his Knives, both of which were already in a stabbing motion towards the avian half-breed.

Joseph’s intent was to impale Alan and end the fight here, but there was room for error.

“Now that you’re here, my opinion of who I wanted to fight has changed. Say Tres, How bout this match up. Me and Alan, You and Samayou, and the last match can go to whoever gets here first.”

Desecrator relays this little bit of information to Mr. Dharrei.

"Fortune favors the bold; guess that makes you the Dee-es - Designated Striker."

Des grabs a single knife from his bag before zipping it up and handing it to a 'Dwarf'.

"Take that to the sidelines."

The dark man then proceeds to the stage to hop up next to one of the robots. Pointing one finger, he addresses his opponent.

"You -"

Directing the attention upon Lovi,

"- Right here, right now.... I can see that you itch to fight."

Appraisal by Lovi would yield that her opponent of six feet and zero inches, appears as one of the light heavyweight class. His black skin covered in gold, dull runes. Equipment consists of the lone throwing knife he pulled out of his bag, held in a reverse grip in the right hand. Attire lends itself to minimalism, with naught but hand and feet wraps (white), and a black pair of vale tudo shorts. The Void Lord's head is bare, with pupiless eyes an empty white.

[post 1?]

Lovi's attention had already followed the gentleman to the stage, her gaze cautious and uncertain, if only due to her previous failure in the preliminary bout. That particular wound would wear itself upon her sense of pride for some time yet. But maybe this would be different. She had to believe that it would be if she hoped to surpass her ever dwindling expectations.

"How polite," she thought aloud, unfolding her arms from a crossed position over her chest as she stepped forward to fill the final space. True enough, she was eager to get moving. If nothing else, she was at least curious as to what the man intended to do with his chosen weapon, selected from whatever assorted collection was stashed away in the confines of an otherwise unassuming duffel bag. She had half hoped to see him produce an over-tall floor lamp, as the mystery of the bag made him appear something like a murderous Mary Poppins. She smirked at the thought, then pushed it to the back of her mind as she ascended to the miniature stage.

She was quickly beginning to realize that if there was anything in the world she hated more than useless and overcomplicated technology, it was likely useless, overcomplicated technology with a face and deafening voice box.

"Forgive me if I overlook certain formalities," she said, stopping at the far end of the stage. She wasn't keen on shaking anyone's hand for the time being.

The mechanical musicians paused briefly, granting the woman a false hope before immediately blaring into another "catchy" tune. Driven by her increasing irritation, she grabbed the nearest robot performer by the ears and twisted once, then yanked its head clean off. It hadn't quite stopped the music, but it was about as satisfying as anyone might expect.

Without missing a beat, she took after her teammate's influence and hurled the severed piece at her opponent. Not her usual course of action, but an altogether fulfilling one.

Always throwing things, Des' opponents. A book in the prelims, and now a robotic head in round 1. And as it flies:

"Forgiven."

Desecrator brings up his left hand in front of his chest then swats the flying head off to the side. But not to be outdone for use of robots, Des flows from defense to offense in the same motion. With a rotation to his left a half turn, he moves forward a step pivoting on his right foot. And with a strong back kick (left foot) into the torso of another robot, he sends it flying off its track for Lovi's lower half.

The machinations of steel and prop alike are rather heavy, and so it is with displeasure that their use as weaponry be rather limited. As such, the Batty animatronic would be a rather easy dodge. But would it prove later to be of further use?

In time with the flung Bat, Des completes his rotation another half turn taking another step forward; the dagger in his hand popping up and being regripped at the blade's tip. With right hand cocked back, he speed-throws the dagger with aim for Lovi's center depending on her dodge, or atleast her apparent dodge. If she steps back, the path remains straight. To the left or right, aimed again accordingly. Same with down.

[2]

38Lady Gilaen

One good turn deserved another, she supposed. Whatever small show of strength she had hoped to convey in ripping off the mechanical head, Des was prepared to match her display, if not surpass it entirely.

Lovi wasn't one for dodging obstacles, much though she had improved at thinking on her feet (actually, 'much' was a generous term in this instance). She dove over the approaching object and rolled once before stopping her momentum. Her opponent seemed to have a careful eye and quick wit, for she barely had a fraction of a second to register and respond to the blade intent upon embedding itself in her person.

Quote: Intercept: Lovi examines her target's route of travel and devises the best point and means to stop them whether it's tripping up a strafing opponent or nabbing some mobile object. With ancestry hailing from the ancient berserks, she has adapted their fabled technique of catching fast moving projectiles and hurling them back at their opponent with deadly accuracy. This ability applies to spears, stones, axes, knives and other larger weapons. Catching arrows requires and extra strain on her agility, and cannot be hurled back at an enemy.

Lovi can intercept some magic projectiles such as fire balls, ice spears, ect, but will take full damage before returning fire on her opponent.

Lovi may not have had quick feet, but her hand/eye coordination had been drilled to death for precisely this scenario. She caught the knife just barely, and returned fire with a bit of blind intention; her knowledge of the opponent's position having been distracted from. If it didn't hit him, she at least hoped it would peg another one of those damned singing monstrosities.

Her right hand was suddenly enveloped in warmth. She cast her eyes down to find that she had taken hold of the knife too roughly, a small pool of blood filling her palm as the slight sting set in from a few minor cuts. She curled her hand into a fist, small red beads spilling from betwixt her fingers as she poised herself to launch at him from a lower position.

The realization of the cuts left her distracted and quite open. If Des had not taken the opportunity to lash back while she was off guard, then she would spring forward and charge at him with the intention of grabbing him around the middle and, more or less, tackling him.

2

39Duskbringer

Desecrator learned alot from his first bout back in the prelims. For one, never let your opponent take a breath, let alone begin to form 'plans'. That spelled flamethrowers and he is not too keen on allowing such indulgences again.

Much as Des would have been surprised at having his knife thrown back at him, he would barely feel the slightest whisp of air on his follow-up. 'Forward' was always the intent when fighting hand to hand. Thus he leaps upward into a flip once he registers Lovi's dodge, knowing it the perfect opportunity for a downward strike. The dagger flies underneath his airborne form right before he sends his right heel crashing down over the top of Lovi's head.

Since Lovi is low, he knows a sideways dodge-roll to be probable. So he knows to land with the left leg tucked to allow for a springy secondary movement. His left hand moves up to his side to brace for landing; while the right arm remains up in front of his chest. The landing will leave him turned partially on his left side.

[3]

40Lady Gilaen

Des descended upon Lovi too quickly for her to react in time. Had she not stopped to observe her palm, she might have looked up in time to observe his course of action and move the hell out of the way. Stuck, for the moment, in a knelt position with her left knee to the floor and the right tucked up to her chest, she took the full brunt of his heel with gritted teeth and what looked like a pained grimace. Lovi was made of tough stuff, though. Strong and tempered as her opponent was, if there was one thing she could be sure of, it was that she could handle the damage.

Her head momentarily spinning, Lovi moved on impulse, springing up and forward on her right foot with the intention of ploughing her left knee into his ribs.

(short)

41Duskbringer

Desecrator feels a wave of surprise wash over him. The hit actually connected. He was used to faster opponents. But judging by how Lovi just takes the hit and springs for him, it would appear that he misjudged her fighting style. Whereas he was expecting a somewhat agile female with good reach and decent strength, she instead seems a female juggernaught. Most unexpected.

As he is positioned to move to either side quickly, he does just that. Des pulls right leg up/in and over to the left side, throwing his right arm into the motion as well to roll to his left and onto hands and feet.

From there he pushes himself back up; which should position him to Lovi's right side. She should have hit the floor with her dread knee as he pushes up, leaving her well ready to intercept his next attack. But as she might guess, Des works in combos, not single strikes.

And the next strike?

Des turns his body again to the left with his arms up, bringing up his right knee and again aiming a strike for her head. Though if she landed partially standing instead of knee to the floor, the strike would actually be aimed for her mid-section.

[4]

42Lady Gilaen

Lovi went forward, and as she might have expected, Des was well prepared to move out of her way. If nothing else, this was bound to be a learning experience for the amazon, though she supposed the preliminaries should have been much the same. Perhaps the context of the situation had blinded her to any such possibility before. Of course, dwelling on the matter would do her no favors in the current situation.

Her left knee hit the floor, right leg extended somewhat behind her as Des aimed for her head once more. Bracing herself with her left palm, she raised her right hand to catch his knee before he could strike her again. One headache was enough within single day, thank you. Defending with an open hand may not have been a wise choice, but Lovi relied quite heavily on her unnatural strength to make up for such oversights. Leaving a red hand print on his knee, she pushed him back before pushing off of the ground with her left hand and leg to place herself on her feet once more.

Des likely had his next course of action in mind. Much though she wanted to charge onward, she held back for the moment, having taken too much time simply to get back to her feet.

4

43Glory Sieg

Gloria sighed as she leaned against the prize counter, idly fingering a shimmering bracelet of beads. She would be the striker for her team this time around, but no on really looked like they needed the help at the moment.

"Hey you," she called to the fourth man of Team Noble. "I'm Gloria. I figured the sidelinders should get to know each other since we'll be keeping each other company."

Although Lovi's fight did intrigue her greatly; she was quite glad she let her Amazonian partner go first.

44Duskbringer

Positioning. That's what Des had intended with the knee. Having rediscovered Lovi's immovableness, he decides to put some more force behind this next one.

Paying no heed to the blood on his knee, he pushes back off the ground with his left leg and moving forward with the right after a slight ground tap with the foot. His right arm cocks back as he leaps forward with all his weight and comes in hard with a fist intended to bloody Lovi's nose, in a flying superman punch. (link added for visual aid)

Des knows if this one doesn't cause any movement, he's going to be in some trouble. Afterall, only those in the HUEG GAI category could shrug off such a strike; and this woman appears far too 'small' for that. That would also bring into question hidden strengths; of which, he himself possesses a few - Lovi would notice how his striking power is a little higher than she would normally suspect from one of his size... but this is gaia.

45Tres Ecstuffuan

Rather than meeting force with force Tres decided rather to control rather than exerting a strength that may in fact be inferior. Despite the fact that Tres's kick did not trouble his balance Tres believed he could utilize a defensive technique to produce an opening in the opponents guard. Tres's balance was saved by the fact that he had performed a low kick that required that he actually bend his stationary leg to lower his center of gravity.

Tres was unsure if his kick had did anything due to the fact that the opponent pressed his offense, a good tactic of using offense defensively but he was not one to dwell in the past until the opponent lay on his back unconscious.

Using the clockwise rotation of his body that was already in motion due to the kick it was a simple act to parry the opponents left hand jab over Tres's right shoulder with his own right arm. clink!, went Tres's bracer against the devils ebony tough skin as the parry smashed against its target.

Simultaneously the dread headed warrior placed his left foot down in an orthodox boxing stance. The parry brought Tres's right arm out to his right while still being on the inside of Sama's left hand guard. So as soon as the parry was performed Tres's body moved into the next action without a trace of hesitation.

While bringing his left hand up to a high guard near his tucked chin, Tres unleashed a powerful right hook to the left side of Sama's chin with the intent to rock the slightly taller devil and bring his steel bearing covered knuckles through his jaw.

Tres's dreads fluttered wildly with each attack swinging with the momentum of his body. Yet his eyes concentrated purely upon his opponent as if they were the calm beneath the storm. His stoic expression promised the sort of seriousness that he lacked in his prelimary bout. His opponent was not a push over and he may have to unleash his full power to claim victory.

Truthfully, Lovi couldn't say where her strength came from. She was quite small in contrast to the traditional warriors of her homeland; a fact that struck a bit of a sore spot with the woman, even if her strength matched and often surpassed that of her former peers. Friends had speculated that such an attribute may have been a gift from a higher source.. Lovi preferred to think of it as a freak accident of nature. An accident with attached conveniences.

Des, of course, was on Lovi as soon as she was back on her feet. The punch having been made with an added effort that exceeded her initial expectations. She staggered back a couple of steps to keep herself from outright falling. It seemed he had something beyond the scope of his perceived size as well. Not terribly shocking considering the abnormalities in his appearance. Still, it surprised Lovi all the same.

Hell if she was going to let herself fall prey to another (mostly) merciless beating. She found her footing quickly and returned his gesture with a right hook intent upon bloodying his face, her left hand soon to follow suit. She hardly noticed the thin red trail seeping down over her lips.

5

47Duskbringer

Desecrator's stoic expression falls away to a rather malevolent grin. It was as if he was congratulating himself mid-fight, like saying "there, you did it, good job". Or it could just be that the sight of blood entices his true battle spirit. Blood, the drink of demons. He remembers what that was like. And he finds himself feeling rather fulfilled at drawing first blood; atleast as he saw it, not really counting the dagger.

But as he experiences a shift in disposition, so too do his tactics change. Rather than continue the assault upon Lovi, he focuses more on dodging as she comes in with a right hook, then a left hook. Lean back and weave to the right, lean and weave to the left, keeping his hands loose in front of himself.

A kick usually follows a one-two combo; or atleast a different punch. Both require forward motion to trail an evading opponent. It is under this assumption that Des flows from the second weave into a shift of position. Smooth as water, he slides forward to Lovi's right side a step[distance and motion] and brings his right arm looping across her upper abdomen. Des pulls her hard in his direction sideways and in front of himself with the intent to hiptoss to the ground onto her back. His back leg (left) braces for resistance should Lovi react in time. However, should she really be the behemoth he thinks her to be, throwing her off balance might not be so hard.

Heaven or Hell: Round One, Alan vs Joseph

Theme: Gundam 00 By Kenji Kawai

Post 4/17: Cutting corner.

As Alan came down, Joe's blades came up, neither one would be able to stop their momentum in either case, and the clash could not be avoided.

The small daggers suddenly became two foot long swords, glowing with some strange white Aura. It caused Alan's strong heart to skip a beat, but only until the accompanying pain of the blades biting at flesh cleared his focus again.

"Rrraaaahhh!"

The Agent's left sword had grazed Alan's left upper arm and impaled itself into the fleshy, meaty part of Alan's left wing, so much that the wing, and Alan, flinched that part of his body back to pull itself away from the harm instinctively, this lessened the impact of the blow from the Skee-Ball that would still undoubtedly come to Joseph's face. The second stab, was able to be parted to the right side at the last moment by Alan's right gauntlet, which still had its Katar blade out from the use of the spell.

As light as Alan was, however, the two of them would still tumble to the ground further towards the center of corner turn, and the fire that began to subside in intensity. The magical flame was dieing out, but the carpet itself had caught fire and was sending heavy smoke up into the ceiling above it.

ringalingalingalingalingalingaling...~!

The buildings fire alarm and sprinkler system both activated and rang throughout building. Causing water to pour itself all over the laser-tag segment and possibly other parts of Dwarf E Forts as well.

Alan felt the water begin to spray against the back of his head in constant drabs as he scrambled to remain on top of the tumble, taking advantage of any stunning the blow to the head would give Joseph. The pain shot through his arm and wing into the same shoulder, screaming at him to pull back before Joeseph had a chance to recover and do more damage to his wing. However the fury and exhilaration of battle now pumping into Alan's blood demanded that he returned the favor first.

With his right hand still mostly free, and inside Joseph's guard due to how the mostly blind stab attempts were done, Alan angled his right Katar blade inwards and drove the blade home into the quickest available target: Joseph's left shoulder, twisting the blade in as much as he could. Alan's left hand abandoned the Skee-Ball now and attempted to grasp at Joseph's right arm, intend to dig in the claws in and pull the blade fully out and away from Alan's damage left wing.

Damage Received: Shallow laceration to upper left arm. Stab wound to upper left wing near arch joint (weapon still inside.)

Actions: Scramble to pin. Stab towards left shoulder with right Katar blade (twisting in). Attempt with left arm grip Joseph's left

Intended Damage:

Temporary stunning due to blunt force trauma (reduced from previous post)

Stab would to left shoulder (muscle and tendon damage) minor flesh damage from left claw.

Physical Traits in use:

Winglung - Deflating

Wings- Left wing impailed and attempting to pull back, right pressed close behind body.

Combat Enchantment:

Used: Fire,Air

Right Talon Cooldown: 2

Edits: Clarification.

Joseph winced as his nose broke right. The force of the two fighters colliding and tumbling across the ground caused the knives to cut and tear into Alan, just as the open Katar blade cut into the Aura Manipulator’s right arm.

However once the momentum of the tumble subsided, Joseph rolled right forcing his weight onto his somewhat impaled foe to move with him, as well as rake his blades across Alan’s chest.

Joseph would get Stabbed to the bone in his Shoulder, but Alan had bigger problems.

Lovi caught his brief expression of triumph, uncertain of the reasoning behind it, though she could take a wild guess as the warmth of blood continued to trail onward down her lips and chin. Reason or not, she knew the look itself all too well; that sense of unbridled satisfaction in what should have been a guilty pleasure. (Of course, in her case the guilty pleasure was also a profitable line of work). Guilt played no part in her opponent's actions on, and presumably off, the field of battle. At least not so far as she could tell.

Good.

The fewer complications brought to the table, the better. Win or lose, she didn't want to walk out at the end of the round with any lingering uncertainties or added strain upon her already wounded pride.

Lovi saw his motion, only recently having gained the knowledge to recognize his intention, and she wasn't about to allow him the follow through. As he reached to pull her down, she countered, her body twisting clockwise. She gripped his wrist with her left hand, taking his momentum and turning his own actions against him. As she turned to face him, she lifted her right arm, the elbow exposed, moving to make impact against his cheek and jaw.

The mind of the psion was that of a computer. An untold number of neural connections firing off in response to relevant external stimuli. These connections were formed from history and not only the years of Tresondros Ecstuffuan but the untold eons that it took to form the Ecstuffuan family fist. Sieg had once told Tres that the ecstuffuan family fist had its origins from the Archangel Micheal and the records of his martial skill in the war in heaven. The devil may have been thousands of years old and wrote the book on combat psychology, but Tres's way was that of the god of fighting.

THUD!

The elbow slams across Des' face with force enough to turn his head to the side(his left) and upwards. Though no blood spews forth from his momentarily agape mouth, he begins to feel warm fluid fill the spaces between his teeth. Speaking of teeth, the back ones feel a little loose now.

She drew her first blood now, too. Whatever calmness Des had going into the battle would soon be replaced by fury. The look in his eyes would say it all: kill or be killed. Though, the primal nature of such ferocity appears most unnatural. It is as if he has been possessed by something darker; which is rather ironic, considering it's hard to get darker than black.

As his gaze turns back on Lovi, he responds in kind by turning right(his clockwise) and hooking in low with his left fist, aimed for the right side with intent to damage a kidney. With her right arm high, and the left grabbing Desecrator's right, she'd be wide open for the return hit. Though for the possibility of Lovi using the grabbed arm to throw him off balance, he grips onto what ever material he can grab at her middle with his right hand, whether it be a belt, loose fabric... or maybe even tight fabric. (just hoping it's not something slippery like pleather or vinyl).

Post 5/17: The better part of valor.

((Note for the judges: I messed up this post using the formatting for the next post I'll try to preserve the essence of what was in it to begin with.))

Alan felt the attempt to roll the two of them over towards the left. Not being much for grappling himself, Alan was quick to find his footing with his left leg, pushing away on it to be the first of a series of steps backwards.

In his attempt to move back, Alan's left gauntlet parried the slash at his chest, the Katar blade deflecting the attempt, leaving a faint slash into the thick kevlar piercing only it's outermost layer.

The fire supression unit did a fairly good job of making the hallway that was once on fire more nagivatable so, provided Alan escaped, he would make his way down the hall to buy himself more time, and to access his wounds.

His wing wasn't in very good shape. Joseph's tug to try to get him to roll with him complicated the wound on it the sword's way out. It wasen't horrible but he wouldn't want to be trying to hit anything with it any time soon. The pain in the wing alone would probably prevent it from being all that useful. The wound on his arm looked like it was bleeding a bit, but it was difficult to tell the degree with the water from the fire suppression system soaking the wound. It stung quite a bit, but the wound itself was shallow and would likely not impede him from using it.

The corridor wasn't long but split into four different routes. The two ends lead to the exit and the center zone respectively, with the middle two leading into an elaborate loop back into each other. If followed, this is where Alan would make his stand, already focusing his energies into his left gauntlet. The Katar blade attached to the gauntlet would snap into place making itself ready for a more direct confrontation.

Sama VS Tres post 3

WHAM! The fist of Tres would impact with his chest, his breathing calm as his mind stayed focused. Tres had tried an upper cut, not a bad move in fact it was good, the only thing was for Sama to lift any man he needed to draw close. Thus was Tres threw his upper cut it met earlier then expected with the meaty chest of the Devil. Tres had impressive moves, but Sama had an impressive body and though bruised and aching his chest remained in tact, if anything Tres would feel as if he had just hit a steel wall.

The Devil had expected pain, he knew his grappling style always gave the enemy an attack of oppurtunity here or there but the pay out was ten times the damage. Punch to the chest all so he could put a man thru a table, fair trade.

The Devil got his holds and tried to lift.....nothing? It took him a second to put two and two together, somehow Tres was using his Psionic energy to anchor himself, very well, but how long could the young man hold that connection? With out warning the Devil decided to cause some pain.

Tres now had his foe almost an inch away from his torso, one meaty hand clenching his belt, the other now wrapped up behind Tres's arm and back. Now the fun thing here was that Tres's right arm was most likely stuck or pinned between him and Sama, meaning the Devil was on the outside of Tres's right gaurd, meaning that arm could do nothing to stop a powerful knee that thrusted directly up into res's right side and rib cage!

To lift Tres the devil needed a wide stance, it also worked out that a knee thrown from such a stance could do tremendous damage, and was pretty hard to see coming. f this blow was able to knock the wind out of Tres and maybe break a few ribs then the Devil could hopefully knock some concentration out of Tres, long enough to put him thru that table.

Fighting style of a God..it would take more than that to best the Rock Fist Beast.

The true intent of the uppercut was less so to hurt Sama but more so to put a wedge between them to prevent Sama from being able to reach his left arm all the way behind Tres's back to get a decent hold. Sama would have his wrist underneath his right arm, but not enough to get a full underhook around the body.

After throwing the uppercut and noticing that Sama did not yet abandon his throw, Tres would perform a quick stance shift within the standing grapple. Each movement was performed simultaneously and in a single instance after the uppercut landed. Tres right overhooked the opponents left forearm while twisting his waist in a clockwise turn. This would continue to build distance between his hips and sama while simultaneously giving him a measure of control over the opponents left forearm. At the same time Tres would slide his left hand up the opponents chest while maintaining contact and leverage up to Sama's chest.

Then as Tres performed that single movement, WUD! the knee screamed as it collided into Tres's abdomen. The target had been changed due to Tres own movement after the uppercut. However, it didn't change the fact that Tres had been knee'd in the stomach by a 6"6' 300 plus pound behemoth was going to hurt, a lot. Air shot from Tres's mouth and his stomach seemed to burn in the intense amount of pain. His eyes went wide and his teeth clinched. Water from the sprinkler poured down his face and into his mouth as he grimaced.

Now

Through the shrill cry of pain that echoed throughout Tres's body his mind commanded absolute obedience from his body. Just after the knee struck its target and as Sama's foot would be returning to the ground. Tres used that grip change that he performed as the knee was being thrown to pull against Sama's left arm while pushing against his Chest with his left arm. Tres leaned into the push, pushing with all the strength his body could muster. While Tres didn't have superhuman strength he was the pinnacle of human perfection and that was more than enough to reverse Sama's grapple with his own throw. The left foot would kick back against the opponents stationary right leg would act as a point of leverage, making it so that as Sama's left foot returned down from the knee he would have nothing to catch his tremendous weight with. The opponents stationary right foot would lose some traction due to the now wet floors.

Tres was essentially attempting an Inner reaping throw, countering a strength based throw with a technical judo based throw. If the technique failed, then Tres would get put through a table as his psionic ability had worn off, but if it succeeded then Tama would find himself being pushed down through the table instead.

If tres succeeded he would leave Sama through the table and shuffle step backwards while saying, "You would attempt to grapple with me devil? The ecstuffuan family fist has been known to pin dragons." Each of his steps caused a small splash of water up from the ground. His body dripped with water, Tres found the cool liquid refreshing even though typically the water that poured from fire sprinklers was stagnant and dirty.

[Joseph V Alan

Pt 2

5/17]

“********!”

Joseph cursed as he felt the Blade enter and exit his shoulder. The aura surrounding his blades dissipated into sparkling dust, but only for a moment. Joseph’s legs wrapped around Alan’s left left, attempting to force him to fall back.

If this worked Joseph would recall the aura to his knives, and thrust them into the Avian’s sides, angled in a way that if the pierced through his armor, that the blades would exit just below his last rib. If this hit Alan would find himself out of the fight.

Now if the trip didn’t work Joe would get up and access the situation. His right shoulder oozed blood from the wound, but on the whole it just took some getting used to the pain to force it into action. He noticed holes in the walls, normally used to shoot through, could become an exit vector to the main area again.

He made it through the first two with little difficulty, but by now Alan would have figured out his course of action.

Lovi believed that most people experienced empathy through superficial reflections; reading subtle expressions and body language before unconsciously imitating the motions or relaying them in one's memory to find a reference point. After all, nobody really means it when they say 'I understand' or 'I feel your pain' (or joy or anger). But when Des' mood shifted from calculative calm to a seething survivalist (quite drastically, in fact), she could swear that she felt the shift in her own body. She could scarcely believe that a single successful hit would warrant such a dramatic change in one's manner or personality, but there it was.

Real fear was something that Lovi scarcely felt, even in true life or death situations. That momentary terror flashed across her face in the briefest of instances, followed immediately thereafter by excitement.

There was little that Lovi could do in response to his next course of action, her side fully exposed, thank her lack of forward planning. She unfurled her right arm and grabbed at his shoulder for support as she attempted to turn her torso for a more glancing blow. It was still certain to be painful, but all she really hoped to avoid was the inconvenience of pissing blood for a week.

Quickly turning back to face him once more, both hands still on his person, she proceeded on witless impulse ((because LG doesn't feel like watching anymore youtube videos today)) and attempted to pull his torso down as she ploughed her knee into his midsection..repeatedly, if possible.

Desecrator's fist strikes hip bone - nothing too painful to be hit; or atleast nothing this woman couldn't take judging by the earlier hits. Des' fist opens and closes, gripping what there was to grip; again, be it material or a little bit of hip if Lovi had the curves enough.

He had considered kneeing as a follow up, if only momentarily, but Lovi's shift in weight tells him she was thinking the same thing. In reaction Desecrator pushes Lovi away by the hips, arcing his own middle away from the strike to minimize impact. But before she can follow up with her own sort of combo, Des yanks hard right (assuming the knee came from Lovi's right; opposite action if opposite limb), sliding the mirrored-side foot to the outside of hers to keep her from widening stance with the intent of throwing her to the ground.

The killing look remains in Desecrator's eyes the whole time. And that injury of a few seconds ago? Blood begins to seep out of his mouth like drool, adding to the man's ferocity.

Sama Vs tres Post 4 i think?

The Devil had several reactions, all occurring at the same time to ensure his victory. His first was the moment Tres tried to wrap his right arm up the Devil counter acted it. Leaning his weight forward and pulling himself towards Tres. His strength was greater, the devil could in fact pull himself into his target as he thrust his knee up into Tres, in a sense pulling Tres into the knee, furthering the impact. This Close proximity pull was to not give Tres distance, to not let him out of range so Sama could use superior size to control him. It also allowed the Devil to fully slip his arm around Tres’s back, keeping the Boy’s right arm pinned between their torso. This last second pull in also did not allow Tres to turn his hips away, not allowing him to get the distance he so desperately wanted. The Devil also Pulled on the belt, directly influencing Tres’s hips but there was something else Tres would notice as he tried to manipulate the big man, the Devil’s entire body tightened up. The Style was effective in certain defensive situations where a man would tighten his entire body, staying close to his core and allowing his weight to act for him as an anchor. This last second reflex is the only thing that stopped Tres from gaining distance, thus not allowing him to get in a counter throw. Sometimes size, strength, and a little know how was all one needed to stay alive.

Now Sama was indeed on one leg but by pulling Tres in that extra two inches, Tres became Sama’s third leg. For a brief second Tres would try to shove against him, trying to get distance but the bigger man had his grip and nothing would derail him from his goal. His foot slammed into the ground with authority and a brief second later, around the time Tres realized he couldn’t get distance, that is when the Devil lowered his hips, and lifted! His massive arms lifting the younger warrior up and then dragging him down, back first directly into the table! Sama had a ample amount of technical counters and techniques, he could go toe to toe with some of the best, but when it came down to it Sama was a simple man with a LOT of power. Sometimes, that is all one needed, others……not so much. This was thankfully one of those times. The Devil stumbled back a bit as Tres went into the Table, his right hand reaching behind for something as the boy went crashing down.

Post 6/17: Killer Instincts

Alan didn't know how, but in the effort to push himself away he found his left leg caught by both of Joseph's. Not able to get his right leg in a solid footing by the time his opponents leg tackle took the balance of his left, Alan fell backwards.

The world spun in a blur of darkness and light, and the ache of his wings and the sharp pain in his left one reminded him that he landed on them, and was now on his back. He must have fell flat back. The pain broke any intending focus he had into his left gauntlet, but it did not remove him of his wits. The light from Joseph's blades were suddenly gone and Alan saw Joseph a blur of a dark form over him, as well as the flash of steel reflected on the last bits of flame in the corridor. Joseph was already at point blank again. There was little time to react, so instinct took over when tactics failed, which was a very bad thing...

After eleven years away from professional fighting, and living in highly dangerous environments, Alan wasn't accustomed to not killing his opponents anymore.

Alan punched with his right, dead center in to the mass of the person looming on top of him, trying to put a dagger in each of his sides with his right arm. Anywhere it was going to land was going to cause severe troubles unless his opponent was as well or better armored than himself. Punch blades had a nasty habit of finding themselves between ribs or in the thick of an abdomen. Alan put the full force of his strength behind the blow, tucking his left arm in at the side in case a blade in the chest or gut wasn't enough to stop his opponent from stabbing.

However, if Joseph had intended to puncture through Alan's Kevlar vest, he likely had the full weight of his straight behind his strike too, so there was little chance to simply evade, especially needing to get as close as he did to strike with knives. Nothing less than the full of Joseph's strength would have a chance to doing so, as the breastplate was designed to protect in small arms combat. If the agent was attempting to trade a blow, he would most likely end up on the bad end of the deal. Alan just hoped Joseph could survive the blow.

Actions: Fell onto back (away) due to trip. Punch forward with Katar into Joseph's upper abdomen/lower chest during his stab attempt.

Intended damage: Deep stab wound, severe laceration of liver/kidney, possible diaphragm/lung puncture if blow ends up landing high. Threat of bleeding out in a number of rounds possible.

Physical Traits in use:

Wings - Wings pinned, pain from the jolt in his right wing breaking magical focus, no additional damage.

Somehow the situation felt very familiar to the amazon; an embarrassing recollection crossing her mind as she reflected upon her brief lesson in days prior, wherein she had performed the exact same action with quite similar results. It seemed she would owe her teammate an apology after this, though doing so was sure to leave a bitter taste in her mouth for weeks to come. Much though she wanted to hate her captain (and, truthfully, many of the contestants she had the so-called pleasure of meeting thus far), she couldn't deny him or anyone else their well-earned accomplishments. He was right; she had been too concerned with harming her objective opponent to see beyond the scope of each individual action. A lesson that was sure to be learned the hard way..

Granted, she liked the hard way.

Des had managed to grab a portion of her belt, and while the hard yank had, most certainly, thrown her from her balance and towards the ground, it had also torn the accessory from her person with a rather loud snap. Should he have fallen with her, she would keep her knee raised between them to push him away upon landing. If not, then she was prepared to roll out of his way and scramble back to her feet.

That look in his eye was familiar. It held a sort of enticing quality, as though it were beckoning her blood to boil in turn, that they might feed one another's anger. But Lovi wasn't angry. Not for the moment, anyway.

The mechanical musicians paused again, ceasing their scheduled merriment for a moment before moving on to yet another thrilling number (though half the voices were now either missing or warped beyond the recognition of actual words). The stage lights had started shifting color at a faster pace; various hues of red, blue, green and a vomit-inducing yellow switching from one to the other every two seconds or so. As if the smell of the place wasn't sickening enough.

8

63Duskbringer

And so down they both go, though not without a certain amount of control on Desecrator's part. As they fall, Des' hands move up Lovi's sides to grip her upper arms.

Des makes sure to position himself over Lovi in side-mount when they hit ground, with his lower body off to her left; his upper abdomen presses against her sternum, above her raised knee. While their combined weight adds a little to the impact she'll feel, it is not what should be foremost in mind for sake of pain or tactic alike.

Should Lovi find herself lacking ability to negate Desecrator's intent, he will then proceed to mount up. Using his upper body strength to keep her from ground evasion, Des pulls himself up and swings a tucked left leg over Lovi, effectively straddling her. It's classic ground and pound what will follow.

"Ugh"

Tres had maintained distance with his left arm, but it didn't matter Sama's strength was such that they operated under different limits. The strength of Sama's arms were vast enough to compensate for the difference in leverage and even though Tres's center of gravity was too far from Sama for a normal man to attempt such a throw, Sama was no normal man. "b*****d!", the dread headed man shouted as he was lifted up and over Sama. Tres fell through the table looking up belligerent at the darkened demon as he moved away from him. Tres sprung up quickly after he fell through the table, groaning in pain audibly but moving as if the punishment was negligible.

Synapses fired off rapidly in Tres's mind. Sama was stronger clearly and he needed to take strength out of the equation. As he rose to his feet Tres took a particular stance. With his feet spread medium width with his left foot forward in front of his right he discarded his armored overcoat by spreading out his arms behind him. He then brought his arms up to guard with his left hand held in front of his jaw with the palm facing forward and the arm slightly bent. His right hand chambered up high near his shoulder with his fist facing towards Sama. Tres watched his movements, the demon reached behind for something. 'A weapon', the young warrior thought as he began to focus his mind reaching deep into his subconcious with the perception of his third eye.

Tres's entire body began to glow with an emerald green effervescent light that seemed to coalesce into steam that seemed to crystalize and burst into gaseous shards the farther it spread from his body. Tendrils of emerald green energy spread out from his bejeweled forehead in a spiral formation. These tendrils of energy crossed and intersected out around Tres's right forearm in a geometric mesh that took the shape of a gauntlet and katar about the length of that forearm. The volume of the mesh filled with what could only be described as an otherworldly swirl of fire and water, constantly shifting and fluttering in some invisible wind. The blade was nothing but a manifestation of his mind and his mind was a thing constantly shifting and changing like the waters of a raging river.

The blade of psionic energy cast a strong green light through the falling waters of the sprinklers. Once the weapon was fully formed it snapped into existence with a shrill howl that promised of destruction. Tres exhaled and the vapors of his breath seemed to crystallize and collapse into mint green gas between the ticks of the moment. His eyes gazing sharply at Sama glowed with a powerful green light, full of power and determination.

"Bring it on!", the young warrior shouted.

Joseph forced his left arm back, causing a last ditch mid air spin. Alan had indeed been wise to offer his katar blade for Joseph to land on, but the Aura warrior was well trained. His last moment dodge had worked, but he had the unfortunate side-effect of having the wind knocked out of him.

While Joseph Gasped for air, Alan would have plenty of time to recover.

Post 7/17: Opportunity.

Alan's retort struck nothing but air, but in turn, his opponent slammed himself on the ground adjacent to him on Alan's left side. The Avionic Halfbreed's gut reaction had saved him from a very unpleasant encounter with Joseph's knives.

Alan's eyes followed Joseph as he twisted and landed on the ground. The familiar sound of air being forcefully lost out of the lungs the heaviness of the thud. Alan had fallen such a way many times, and his instincts screamed at him to use the opportunity.

Pursuit and follow-through were the dominant things on his mind. Now more aware of his surrounding Alan was able to focus his will, his thought into a solid, indomitable need. Bringing his energy to focus in spite of pain searing through the arm of his wing.

Alan's left arm reached out to grab at Joseph's right arm using the armored forearm to push and hold Joseph's arm down. At the same time Alan's right wing pushed against his weight as he twisted, trying to keep the majority of the weight on his left arm and right wing. The attempt was to pin Joseph's right arm down and twist and shift his body enough to

Alan would twist towards his winded opponent.

This would lead to Alan putting the majority of the weight on Joseph's right side, pinning him from trying to roll away, not that there was much room left to roll in the tight corner they had been fighting in. If Joseph had not tumbled to the ground, he likely would have slammed himself into the wall. There wasn't much room left anymore to maneuver.

Alan's right gauntlet would punch again, this time, at a narrower angle intended into Joseph's right side just above where his arm. His aim would be far more intentional too, just below the last rib midway between the side and center a stab here would make any movement an agony and would cause his opponent to likely bleed out if not careful. Alan himself, kept his body to Joseph's right side.

During all of this and perhaps a seemingly unimportant matter to Joseph was how drenched the two fighters would be at this point. Almost all of the flames that had caught from Alan's magical fire would be flickering out and the carpet itself was soaked, leaving very little light left from that source. The walls as well were dripping with the water. However, Joseph was going to find out very soon just how deliberate all of this was. The plan Alan had brewed as he pursued his opponent into the Laser Tag arena was about to be complete.

Tres sprung to his feet as Sama stumbled back. This means that Tres getting up was a quick and sudden movement.

Using that momentum, he simply rose his right dura steel bracer up in a high guard to block the attack. The chair would splinter harmlessly against his forearm as Tres got to his feet. 'You ********>, Tres thought as he watched the shards burst all around them in a miraculous display of physics.

In the moment after the chairs destruction against his strong guard, Tres would attempt to throw a snapping jab to the devils face while shuffle stepping to his left to get out of Sama's forward line of attack. The jab would come over Sama's arms who would be forced to follow through with the downward arc of the chair. Sama was a strong man, what did he have to fear from a little jab...However something would happen as soon as the jab would reach its target.

A bright spark of energy would erupt between the fingers of Tres's hand as his fist charged through the falling water. A crystal of psionic energy shaped into that of a small throwing knife had suddenly appeared tucked between his middle and ring fingers. The base of the knife was being supported by the bottom of his left palm and if the jab hit its mark, the blade would be plunged into Sama's right cheek.

Simultaneously Tres's right arm returned to a normal boxing guard with his chin tucked behind his right hand. His stance would be strong and solid despite having just returned to a standing position.

PP: 23

(To rehash Tres's pp usage. Brace was actually 5 points. Manifest mind blade was also 5, but Tres never got to actually use it due to an interrupt. Now Tres is using crystal shard as an immediate action, which is 2 points, putting him at 23)

[Designated Striker Assists: 2 of 3]

The whole time he'd been secluded in the darkness of the Laster Tag Arena hearing the blows traded by Alan and Joeseph. His eyes didn't need to see it for him to know what was going on. By itself it suggested the Mr. Dharrei could feel the tension in the air, as blows were traded. Of course Alan did himself no credit by using fire to give him a visual of what occurred. Even so Rhezzo could hear and concentrate on the kinds of attack each dealt in the dance that made both combatants attempt to strike a felling strike.

It was time for him to take his position amidst all the chaos, unused to the interruption he was to play. Valucre warriors were proud, they never asked for assisted attacks, nor offered any so this was a learning experience for Rhezzo The proud fighters were capable of learning new things easily -this was no different. Feeling out the FIGHTER bracelet on his wrist he promptly activated the 'Designated Striker' option on the bracelets manual options.

Judging the pools of water, as well as the ambient lighting in the distance. A small target of opportunity presented itself to Rhezzo for him to take advantage of, clutching a sharp whirlbat throwing axe. Rhezzo threw it standing within striking distance of Alan, as his back blocked Joseph from view. Rhezzo carefully aimed the projectile weapon for the upper shoulders of Alan. Drew back and released the blade of the axe aimed for the neckline of Alan. Just above his Kevlar vest the axe spun making an ever increasing zip as the axe began to cut the air.

SH-SH SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH

Alan would be hard pressed to listen for the axe aimed to cause spinal damage. Likely to cause Alan a huge advantage of mobility. Even with the twist Alan made to punch Joseph in the intestine left Alans spine shifted. Even if Alan shifted more, his left shoulder would take the brunt of the axe, either taking more of his wing off. Or possibly gashing his left arm, or shoulder in the process. Leaving Joseph a weak-point to take advantage of.

Whichever occurred first the throwing axe would whirl back to Rhezzo's waiting hand. Whereupon Rhezzo would exit the Laser Tag arena to check up on his other comrade. Sure to stop the timer Rhezzo input the FIGHTER as such and hastily made his way outside back into the light to see whatever needed to be done, it was in Josephs hands now. Whatever may occur from this point on.

Strike: Aimed for Alan's upper neckline just above his Kevlar Vest, to cause moderate to heavy spinal damage.

A whirlbat is a throwing axe consisting entirely of metal, sharpened on each and every auxiliary end to a blade's edge, practically guaranteeing some form of damage provided they make contact with an opponent. Six millimeters thick, they are very light and easy to throw, and hold the thrown axe's advantage of rotating quite rapidly thanks to the bulky head (versus a thrown knife which does not hold this advantage.) Therefore, surprisingly accurate weapon with a menacing five sharp tips, two on the axe "head," two at a right angle on the backside of the "head," and one at the handle's apex. 21" length, a mere 746 grams weight.

[Joseph V Alan

Pt 2

Strikers, doing their job since 4:49 pm CST

7/17]

As something whirred over head, Joseph thought he could see Alan tense up and hesitate.

If that was the case, he would whisper, “Tier 1”

Instead of the small several motes of light that normally made up his Aura abilities, hundreds rushed around him, their small darting forms may entice Alan to back the ******** off.

Of course while this light show was going was going on, Joseph’s left arm came up and back down in an attempt to stab the Avian in the back of his upper right arm.

If all of this worked, Joseph would move his left leg behind Alan’s right and throw his weight forward, hoping to push and knock the half-breed off and down, in attempt to gain some room to move about.

Post 8/17: A dish served best.

Alan was almost certain to have his katar blade would get its fill of blood and entrails, however just as he was about to follow through a whizzing sound was heard above his head, followed by a sharp main.

Due to Alan's position, he was unable to see the Striker make his attack. Even if he had strained his hearing in order to hear it in the air, the constant ringing of the fire alarm would have done a perfect job masking it. However Alan was moving to stab his opponent and this changed his situation. Lifting himself slightly in order to prevent more agony to his left wing, however, did just the opposite, thanks to Dharrei. The Axe would slice into the 'forearm' portion of Alan's wing before returning to its master.

The pain would be a fresh addition to the ache in his wing that was already dulling. Alan, in his training and combat was quite accustomed to shutting out pain, but this was an additional jolt he had not expected. He winced slightly. The blow to Joseph would have been substantial, but not as much as his magic could have been, instinctively, his attack hesitated for an instant to preserve his focus he had gathered.

Alan heard the faint rasping of whispering, the ringing preventing him from hearing the details of it, even at close quarters, but he was close enough to discern his opponent attempting some sort of form. That was enough to convince the man to back off, but on his own terms.

Before the energy was even gathered, Alan pushed away hard with the left arm that was keeping Joseph's side and arm pinned down, as he did however, the Agent would feel a sudden wash of cold and wetness.

Water surged out of Alan's left gauntlet, and as he flung himself away from from Joseph, it would spread up until a mount of several gallons, covering over his arm and entire right side of his chest, dripping down. As it did, however, the substance flash froze, encasing Alan's opponent in ice. The wetness of the environment, the fire suppression system Alan had triggered earlier, served as a catalyst for the spell, increasing its potency. With Josephs suit soaked through due to the constant rain, as well as the carpet, the freeze locked him tightly to the ground by his chest and arm, tighter than it would have had normally. Even a man with extra strength would need some time to break himself out of it.

Causing the fire suppression system to trigger was part of Alan's plan. The fire served two purposes. It provided Alan with the opportunity to engage Joseph in close quarters, and set off the system to allow himself to pin Joseph, either to the floor, or to the walls, and open Alan up for a more substantial attack.

If Joseph still attempted to stab at Alan's bladed right arm as he froze, Alan would be quick to pull his arm straight back and be there to parry or even catch Joseph's arm before he got up. If not, there was now plenty of opportunity to disable it in the following moments.

Once on his feet Alan would snap the left Katar into place finally. It would take Joseph some time actually hammering away at the ice encasing before it would yeild. Alan did not intend to give his opponent any more chances to recover.

Received Damage: Laceration on 'forearm of left wing'. Pain resulting hesitated stab and was not followed through to connect.

Note: Alan has sustained too much damage on his left wing and is no longer able to reliably use it as a magical focus. Wing focus is either no longer available or can only be used at half efficiency.

Actions: Cold Wake used as Alan pushes away with his left arm. Intending parry and stab was evaded and possibly caught (leg wrap attempt pulled away from.) Readies left Katar for some serious punishment.

Intended damage: Opponent is trapped and cannot move upper body/right arm as is frozen solid to the floor.

Physical Traits in use:

Wings - Left wing draping slightly, Right wing shifting into a ready position.

Light Sensitivity

Combat Enchantment:

Cold Wake Wrote:
  • Fast-freezing water emits from the Talon in a several-gallon splash. The attack can cover a small section of the ground or body in ice, locking it solid until manually thawed or broken out of (takes abount 1 round to break free.) May douse magical fire. The wake will emit from either the Katar edge or the palm of the talon, depending if the Katar is in use.

Environmental Bonus (Approved by Damnatus): The encasing of ice is wider and requires an additional round to break out of.

8/17]

As the Avian backed away, the Golden Motes of light formed a thin veil in front of Joe.

“Tier 2.”

The Aura shield froze instead of Joseph; however his movement was still limited. He had kept himself from getting pinned in one aspect, yet he was still deep within his foe’s trap.

“******** Metas.”

Joe had bought at most 6’ of movement space, not enough to break the ice around him, however depending on the walls…

Creek Creeeek Crack, Instant Hole

Plywood. Goddamn plywood. Needless to say four kicks to plywood whose surroundings had been flash frozen was sufficient to get to the other side.

Now to get out of here on solid ice…..

Hell and damnation for her own foolishness. Lovi hit the ground with a loud thud, a slight crackling quick to follow as the floorboards of the stage revealed something of their own constructive weaknesses. It wasn't remotely close to caving, but on top of the initial pain and frustration of being tossed on her back (again), there was now an added discomfort of splintered wood sticking her in the spine.

The blood that had been seeping from his mouth like rabid saliva dripped/spattered on her cheek in the process of going down, the result of which brought a momentary look of disgust to the woman's face. She couldn't help it; the man was hardly human as it was, and he did himself no favors by drooling like a sick animal. Still that look in his eye beckoned she respond with rage in kind, yet she couldn't bring herself to feel whatever primal essence he had managed to tap into. Perhaps because this time around she felt it was nothing personal. An almost comforting thought, despite the threatened beating.

Initially, Lovi shielded her face; a reflexive action, though it made her appear helpless. The cracking floorboards creaked with every motion he made, the potential of a fall only threatening a two foot drop as the stage was just barely worthy of said title. Grasping as straws (near literally), Lovi reached a hand out to dig her fingers under one of the loose boards and attempt to dislodge it. It was a stubborn piece even with the advantage of Lovi's strength, but with a couple twisting motions and one big jerk, it was eventually free and destined for the side of her opponents head. She swung at him with as much force as she could muster, just a little irritated at having taken her fair share of damage in the meantime.

Post 9/17: What flavor ice cream?

Alan's intentions weren't false. Alan was not going to give Joseph the time to struggle without punishment. He wouldn't even give him time to finish the sentence. As soon as the shielding went down Alan hand himself positioned above Joseph, with him focused on kicking the wall behind him in order to struggle his way out, a method that would avail him little, Alan would be quick to capitalize.

Without any grace or ceremony, Alan would lash the full strength of his right leg and steel toed boot. out in a brief sweep kick, right into Joseph's head. The trajectory would depend on how Joseph's one free arm reacted. If it would strike out to try to take a blow at Alan's leg, Alan would deepen the sweep into Joseph's face and already broken nose, his right arm would lower to guard, parallel as he did so. Alan of course was leery of the two foot swords returning, considering his aura he had emitted before, and the fact that he saw the blades afterwords last time, he wasn't about to take any chances.

If he tried to cover his his face the kick would aim towards the crown of his head instead. Given Alan's chosen positioning for the strike, however, Joseph would have to stop what he was doing an choose to guard first, as stabbing or blocking with your head and kicking with your feet was quite the awkward motion.

No matter what the case, Alan was already back into focus, this time into his right gauntlet once again. Alan had no illusions that if he was going to finish this, this would be the time to do so.

"What was that? '********' Oww?" Alan quipped, making a suggestion to finish the sentence he interrupted.

It wasn't even clear if Joseph would still be conscious when he said it, however, a full force boot to the head could easily knock the man out in his position. But if not, Alan knew that the next blow would finish it.

Actions: Proper positioning near the top of pinned Joseph's body (adjacent, not above.) Boot to the head.

Intended damage: Bludgeoning, disorientation, possible Knockout.

Joe would look up as Alan attempted to bring his boot down, and attempted to block the kick with a solid punch. His bones ached from the blow, but it could have been worse. He could have not had knuckle duster trench knives, and without that small metal band over his fist he could have crushed his fingers.

Heaven or Hell: Round One, Alan vs Joseph

Theme: Two Steps from Hell, United We Stand, Divided We Fall

Post 10/17: Insult and injury.

Alan did not even bother to voice a reply. In his mind, he had the advantage. He could have gone to punch the man's throat or stab him in the back or any number of things that would simply decimate the man in ways not easily recoverable. It would have been wiser had the man said 'yield'. It was this strange, cocky sense, beyond sensible reason, that made Alan dislike the man in the first place from their encounter back in Sigil. Joseph always seemed to underestimate his foes, and nothing angered Alan more than being underestimated. This just sparked more fury in the Avionic Halfbreed.

It did not help that at this point, the wounds of Alan's wing were beginning to wear at him. The whole thing was throbbing now and the bleeding was having an effect on Alan's thinking. Right now, anger was the primary reasoning that kept him going. He was going to finish this, then turn his attentions to mending his wing.

Instead of replying, Alan made sure the punch on his foot would be the last defense his arm had.

Alan's body surged with energy as he committed his Earth charge to his gauntlet, the focus giving him much more strength, and more importantly, weight, to his figure.

Moving in by dropping to a knee on the right leg Alan reached his right arm out to grab the arm and wrest the blade part away from Alan's body. Alan would slam down on the frozen Agent's temple with the metal brunt side of his left gauntlet . If that didn't knock him out clean, he'd attempt again. He'd stop when he heard a yield, or Joseph passed out from the blows.

Regardless, Joseph likely wasn't going to like how his head felt.

Actions:Moving close. Using Arm of Gigas to force leverage on Joseph's arm and get a clean hammer-blow to Joseph's temple. Repeat on failure to knock-out, or hear a yield.

Intended damage: Severe head Trauma, likely knock-out.

Physical Traits in use:

  • The gauntlet sends a surge of magical energy through Alan's body, temporarily doubling his strength. Additionally, this also doubles his weight density in all forms of impact and leverage. Contrary to the power's name, this effect works for all of his body, and not just his arm. The effect however only lasts a few short moments (1-2 posts maximum.)

Joe, for his part was taking the beating quite well. His face hurt like hell. His face was extra bloody, and…

In a last ditch effort to get the last laugh, he attempted to knee Alan’s groin.
