"Doesn't seem like it's too fair as it stands right now. Lemme even up the odds for ya. Whoever's running this shindig might not like it if this thing is over in twenty seconds."
As Athan drew his sword, a smile crossed Rage's face. "Aww c'mon big guy, you don't really want to kill me. Not after all we've been-" he mocked pausing in mid thought, holding up his finger and then stroking his chin for just a moment. "-well, okay, you probably do, but that's not reason to-"
He couldn't complete his sentence as the sound of the screeching elevator made itself known, and THE INFRAGGABLE KRUNK the bounty hunter stepped off.

For a few seconds there, the mix of voices on the strong winds made it damn near impossible for Rage to understand who was talking to who, or even who was talking to begin with. It was going to be even harder to hear as he pulled out a blue beanie from inside his pocket and plopped it down over his head, covering his ears and skull and bringing him that much more warmth and protection from the frigid air. It seemed like two of the four were armed and armored - not to be outdone, Rage had brought two of his katana with him in case they were needed.
They were great for scaling buildings, slicing and dicing food around the restaurant, hanging signs, made great kickstands, and once in a while they made decent weapons. These days he wasn't much for them, and he was sure opaj would be horrified by how far he had slipped off the path of their teachings, but he just always loved the feeling of someone's body crunching beneath his fist. He figured his old friend would forgive him. The rest of his outfit, for those who knew him outside of the Rage V TV show, was familiar as well. His thick hide jacket was zipped partially up to prevent it from whipping about in the air (and keeping him better protected from the cold, with two layered shirts underneath. Jeans, pants, sneakers; there was nothing terribly unusual about the way he dressed, and there was no hidden protection underneath it. The jacket might take the sting out of some strikes, but for some unusual reason, the sleeves were rolled almost all the way down instead of turned up like he usually had them. There were still a few extra bandages on his arm, too.
Still, that's probably enough fluff and description. Now that there were three targets on the roof, Rage had to start thinking about what he wanted to do as Athan and... who the hell was that guy, anyways? He decided to figure out by shouting as loud as he could - which, based on the night's news report, was pretty damn loud as people around the city were complaining about it.
"Athan! Why'd you bring your dad with you? I didn't know it was Bring Your Father to Work Day! That's not fair! ... for you at least, now I've gotta break two limbs off of your family tree!"
He was only half-joking - he could have swore he had seen that guy before, but it was a vague, distant memory. Maybe Athan's pops had participated in Heaven or Hell? He had tried to keep up on the tournament even when he wasn't participating, but it was a bit hard to do with his current set of duties. Even so, it never stopped him from making assumptions before - why should it now? If this was really going to play out, he should have brought his father, Kaldarak, here too. Wait, on second thought, no, Kal would just try to murder him too.
Okay, so, it was going to be a two-on-one then, he could --

"Well, you guys aren't starting a fight without me... are ya'?"
His head swung to the side to catch a third opponent coming up the elevator. He had been a little more free this year to actually watch the tournament (and almost participate, hence the injury to his arm). He knew this guy. He had actually managed to catch most of his fight on TV before Heaven or Hell was shut down.
"Hey, it's D. Wolf!"
... he just didn't know the guy's name.
Was this guy a friend, a foe, or just lost? Right now, he didn't know and he wasn't too sure he cared. He raised a very dangerous-looking finger in the air, lowering it at Ebris, then Fox, then Athan. "Eenie meenie minnie moe, catch a - oh screw it."
His former teammate and sorta but probably not friend (how long DID someone carry a grudge, anyways?) was his intended target from the start, and even though he wanted a piece of everyone else that had showed up, he had to admit that there was some unfinished business between the two of them.
Last time they had met in battle, Athan was already wounded - it wasn't a fair fight, and to some degree then he knew it. But that was the Brutal Underground tournament. It was expected. It was implied. It was... well, brutal. He had fallen in much the same fashion - embattled from his first opponent, he had nothing left to give as a peculiar woman plunged a blade into his stomach, removing him from the underground tournament.
This time, everyone on the roof was ready for battle. There were no previous injuries, no sneak attacks...
. . . no chairs. . .
... it was time for a real FREE-FOR-BRAWL.
He glanced momentarily at the ring on his finger. Hey... wherever you are out there Lady... watch over me, okay?
As Rage took those first few steps running towards Athan, he decided to go for the classic - predictable, easy, and it might actually give Athan or his dad the chance to use him as a club to beat one another with like Ebris was thinking, but he didn't particularly care. A hard push had his feet lift him off the ground just a few feet away from Athan, bringing his legs curled forward in the air in front of his body, and aiming to unleash them in an explosive missile drop-kick to whichever part of Athan's head he could strike, since it was pretty obvious the rest of him was heavily armored.
It was what he had used against Athan last time, and even he wasn't quite sure why he used such an obvious attack. Maybe it was for sentimental value. Either way....
