Blue Crystal s**t Factory Wrote:

Ever wondered what would happen if a bunch of cute, cuddly, and adorable anime characters ever kidnapped the Oompa Loompas from Willy Wonka? Well, you'd get something similar to the Chocolate factory, except it wouldn't be chocolate. It'd be blue crystal s**t, made out of the same nonsense that their eyes are made of.

2Supreme Jerk Commander

WHIRRR WHIRRRR WHIRRRRRR WHIRRRR WOOOOOOOOOO!

A squad car pulled up to the factory gate and after flashing his badge to the guard, Bhudasan was allowed entrance. Dimitrius was no stranger to the Blue Crystal s**t Factory. It was perpetually on record as being a known location for uncouth transactions and the liberal distribution of a controlled substance. The place was a STING operation waiting to happen. Every justice-loving fiber in his being told him to bust in and arrest every sonuvabitch in the place; but alas, Officer Bhudasan was not assigned to the case. Bhudasan preferred to work alone, and this was a situation that demanded he have a Caucasian side-kick with a contrasting personality.

Switching off the siren, Bhudasan pulled up at the front entrance of the factory and went in. 2 hours and -$157 later, he reemerged. There was still no sign of Deitric, but the factory tour was pretty bad-a and he got an awesome coffee mug, cap, and a Do-It-Yourself Blue Crystal st lab.

On to the next location.

3Sins of an Angel

Morning came far quicker (and brighter for that matter) than Raien ultimately preferred. She was certainly anything but an early bird and her team was well aware of this fact. Unfortunately, when they had come rapping on the door, no response was heard and left them with the assumption that she had already left. This was not the case. Luckily, not more than another hour or two passed before she practically leapt out of bed in the realization that she had somewhere to be...

After a mad scramble to get showered, dressed and get to the appropriate location - Rai had arrived. She strolled up to the massive factory - mouth agape, boot heels clicking, clacking and stopping abruptly in front of the building.

She lifted her head up and allllll the way back to spy the oversized, and probably very expensive, illuminated lettering at the top of said building that read: Blue Crystal s**t Factory.

Blue crystal s**t? Now why did that sound familiar...

Well, whatever it was didn't matter. She was already late and needed to get moving. Raien hoped her opponent wouldn't be too upset with her tardy arrival, and carefully nudged a door that looked like it had been body slammed (or kicked) open, at some point in time. What lay inside was certainly interesting.

Raien had expected a factory, yes - but the circular layout of conveyor belts and gooey, sparkly, gunk - was a sight to behold. Carefully, she navigated through a loop-de-loop of belts, plucking a Diamond Katana mobile figurine from a passing conveyor and poking fingers at tiny blobs of the gooey substance wherever she came across them.

"Someone has a unique sense of humor..."

She had let herself get distracted long enough and actually took initiative, by looking around for anyone who wasn't three feet tall and looked like they might actually be her opponent.

A man in a hat (purchased from a mysterious gift shop somewhere within the factory) zipped by in a hurry, trying not to drop his Blue Crystal s**t brand coffee mug, and other souvenirs, and Rai's head tilted to one side with his passing. Wasn't he was the male stripper who jumped out of the cake during the opening ceremony? Just a foot away, after watching Bhudasan leave, Raien spotted another man, one who was currently sampling the gooey, sparkly goop that was constantly passing by on the conveyor belts. Her mind went back to the man in the cake, then to the mass produced, gooey stuff that this new fellow was tasting.

Her nose wrinkled slightly, and she cleared her throat to catch his attention.

"I don't know if you should be eating that stuff. You don't know where it's been ... or who's been in it for that matter."

4Ryugi Kazamaru

The fruity goop was pretty passable. But only in small doses. However, as Ryugi sampled it, he couldn't help but feel...a little strange. He was trying to put his finger down on the exact nature of what he was feeling and how when a lovely young woman wandered up behind him, coughed to get his attention, and talked to him about the not-so-wise decision of munching on something he'd found in a factory.

Oh, sorry there Miss! You see, I was waiting for my opponent to show up and got a little hungry. His name is "Rai-yen De-Cure" or something. Sounds like a really tough guy and I can't wait to meet him. Anyway this stuff seemed edible, and at least smelled like it was, so I helped myself.

Ryugi grinned and struck a small pose before he addressed the woman one more time.

Come to think of it, who are you? If you're a fan of mine I don't know if you're allowed in here right now since it's effectively a live battle arena. But if you like I can sign something for you after the match against this "Rai-yen" guy.

Ryugi was still excited. This guy was gonna be a great warm up. And now that he was feeling full, and full of some weird energy, he was raring to go. Now all he needed was for the guy to show up so they could get started.

5Sins of an Angel

Raien was a little taken back by the very eager fellow with rather large hair and a particularly nice looking scarf. He struck a pose and she took a moment to look him over. Judging by his garments and energetic attitude, she had seemingly assumed right. This had to be her opponent. Funny though, she expected someone a little, taller? Certainly, the name 'Kazamaru' had her conjuring up images of someone a touch more fierce and dangerous. Such was Gaia though, never ceasing to surprise her.

His name is "Rai-yen De-Cure" or something.

Rai opened her mouth to protest, and correct the awkward pronunciation of her name but -

Sounds like a really tough guy and I can't wait to meet him.

she promptly closed her gob and stared on at her would-be opponent with a puzzled expression - speechless - if only for the moment. The woman pondered briefly, on what precisely to say to the confused fellow before speaking up again. "Well. I can say that I've never heard my name pronounced like that before. And for that matter - I can safely say I've never been mistaken for a man either."

She hated to burst his bubble of excitement, for he was clearly filled to the brim with it, at least - for having expected his fellow man to show up. Raien folded her arms across her chest in mock offense. "Or are you of the mind that a lady has no place in the ring?"

Just a few seconds later, swinging on a chain hook extended from one of the factory's larger machines, came a blur of brown and red.

"Mr. Kazamiiiiiiiiiiiiraaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

Seemingly out of the blue, a small camera crew had infiltrated the surrounding area around the factory, and these two fighters in particular. The blur on the chain hook went flying off, did a few front flips, and landed quite gracefully, arms extended in the air, perfectly between the two combatants. Standing at five feet, five inches tall, a long cat tail swishing behind her from underneath an impossibly short skirt, and poking out from the sleeve of her long red jacket, a microphone, there was no dismissing that it was...

"Alicia Aicila, Channel 7 News! With your triumphant return to Heaven or Hell, how does it feel to be paired up against another up-and-coming combatant, Miss Raien DeCuir? Are you really afraid that you'll be beaten by a member of the opposite sex? Do you have any comments on being a sexist pig? Is it true that your pants are being auctioned off to the highest bidder? The public demands answers!"

The look of pure expectation on her face at having her questions answered was indescribable.

The chain hook, meanwhile, swung peacefully in the background, it's service done.

That little bit of energy came back as Raien DeCuir, his FEMALE opponent made herself known. She was most certainly not a man, or if she was, she was one of the prettiest men Ryugi had ever seen. No, this wasn't at all what he was expecting. A tiny raincloud popped up over Ryugi's head and started dripping drops down on him as he sulked a bit. All that hype, all that MANLINESS, all of it was washed away.

But then, a lighting bolt shot across the back of Ryugi's head in the background as he was about to answer. Something, no, someONE, was coming!

The rain cloud popped as if it was never there, and Ryugi stood stupefied with the microphone shoved in his face. Where did this woman come from? How did her camera crew follow her so sneakily? Who the hell was writing this crazy episode? The answers to these questions and more will be answered on the next exciting episode of...no, wait, the CURRENT Episode of Heaven or Hell: 2011 - Rise of a Burning Champion!

I think it's great to see new faces every year! It shows that fighting spirit is always brimming in young minds and young hearts! It brings me great joy to be fighting a female competitor like my good friend here, MISS Raien DeCuir!

Ryugi turned and winked at the young woman. He certainly hadn't meant any disrespect towards her. After all, she was in Heaven or Hell, and that meant she HAD to be a great fighter brimming with spirit and energy! Female or not, his spirit was once more burning bright, just like the fire in his eyes. Literally. There was a small fire in his eyes as he answered the question and struck yet another pose for the cameras.

The indomidable spirit of TEAM UNBREAKABLE RESOLVE can never be defeated, even if one of our number is brought down in combat! Our spirit will drive us onward no matter what stands in our way! If Miss DeeCuir is able to defeat me, I would welcome the chance to test my abilities against such a worthy opponent.

Another flashy grin for the cameras and a tussling of his hand through his hair, light glinting from the grin as Ryugi gave a proud thumbs up. He wasn't afraid of defeat. Not one bit.

And the public knows I'm not a pig. I'm a dragon burning with the fire of resolve, and the light of overwhelming determination! And as for the pants, they go up on auction on gBay after we win our first match in order to celebrate.

Ryugi made sure to cleanly give his answers to the questions in a big, booming, heroic voice. he was the Chief Morale Officer of TEAM UNBREAKABLE RESOLVE, and he'd be damned if he did anything else but inspire confidence in his team mates and awe the many fans of Heaven or Hell. His team would give them a show the likes of which they hadn't seen in a very long time. That was his duty, and that's how they rolled.

Now, if you'll excuse me Miss Reporter, I do beleive I have a preliminary match to compete in with my lovely female opponent. You're free to stay and get some live coverage of TEAM UNBREAKABLE RESOLVE in action, but don't get in the way of combat.

That camera equipment looks expensive.

8Sins of an Angel

All the while it took her opponent for the impending bout, to process the notion that he had been so far from home base in his initial assumptions regarding just what sort of person he would be squaring off against, Raien watched the strange spectacle with wide-eyed astonishment.

Not only did a pint-sized storm cloud form over the bewildered man's head but in true cartoon fashion, it began to drizzle - sending little rain drops falling from the cloud as if to illustrate his disappointment. Puzzled as she was already, Rai dropped the act of pretending to be upset and found herself entirely too focused on the zaney character before her, equally taken back by a sudden strike of lightning that only seemed to have any effect on him.

She started to speak out, to ask if he knew precisely what was happening, when they were very abruptly interrupted -

It seemed that a news crew had arrived but, Raien had neither heard any vehicles pull up or noticed anyone coming through the doors. Had they just popped out of nowhere? This whole scene was just a bit too strange for even her comprehension. To further emphasize the unusual nature of what should have been a straight forward, pre-liminary fight - the tiny, but perky reporter was sporting fuzzy ears and a feline tail.

Well, she had seen stranger for certain but that didn't stop her mind from being boggled. "You...where did you come from? I didn't see anyone come in through the door-" The raincloud promptly popped and Raien found herself taking a careful step to the side, especially once the spunky cat-girl reporter thrust her microphone in her opponent's general direction, to capture his commentary.

"I think it's great to see new faces every year! It shows that fighting spirit is always brimming in young minds and young hearts! It brings me great joy to be fighting a female competitor like my good friend here, MISS Raien DeCuir!"

He sure didn't lack in spirit himself, that was for sure. Raien took herself to be a typically bright, and pleasantly tempered person if not very friendly towards most, but her opponent here was clearly leaps and bounds above friendly... At least he had nice pants?

Her opponent posed again and this time, as he looked in her direction, she noticed said fire and commented on it. "Uh, Mr. Kazamaru? I think...your eyes are on fire..." How did that even work? I mean, if he didn't seem all that concerned then she supposed it was nothing to worry about herself, but still-

Something was hovering just above her head, and Rai spotted it from the corner of her eye. It was a small, droplet shaped thing and had only just formed after a swell of embarrassment and in the height of the unusually awkward moment. "Oh god. What is that?" She reached up with her staff to poke at the offending bubble, not at all expecting it to suddenly pop and rain drops of water all over her person.

"Oh sh-!" Fortunately it hadn't been a lot of water, but it was the point of the matter!

Frowning slightly, she attempted to wipe away some of the excess water but seemed fortunate when the strange, cartoon-like effects had at least ceased for the time being and her opponent dismissed the camera crew. Was he ready to fight now? She really didn't feel like dueling in wet clothes for very long...

"Mr. Kazamaru - if it's alright by you, I think we should probably get started, though, I'm not really sure what's going on here... Raien dropped the frown for a much more pleasant smile. Even if she couldn't quite match her opponent's intensity and eagerness, she could at least be her usual friendly self.

With her staff in hand, and only slightly damp, Rai was a little more than ready to start.

9The Oblivionic

A phantom sound carries in on the wind, as if reaching through time...

"RYYYYYUUUUUUUGGGIIIIIII!!!!"

10Ryugi Kazamaru

HoH 2011 - The first fight ignites at last!

Suddenly, music began to play through the factory as Ryugi spun to face the bewildered young woman, a trademark grin on his face as he pointed an arm at her, striking yet another pose, speaking proudly and powerfully, voice filled with confidence and inner strength!

You're right! Enough idle chit chat! These good people came to see a fight of two iron wills clashing! Each one unwilling to back down, unwilling to let the other gain the upper hand, and unwilling to stand around and talk further or eat delicious artificially flavored fruit-goop!

As he spoke, a wind seemed to come out of nowhere, blowing his hair and scarf around in a dramatic fashion. Heaven or Hell was about to get underway and Ryugi's excitement had finally reached critical levels. The time for talk and munching random food-like objects had passed. Battle was at hand! It was time to give the good people of Heaven or Hell, the combatants, the spectators, the little orange men and woman, and even the dazed News Crew a spectacle to watch and enjoy. A fight fueled by spirit and a desire to enjoy oneself above all other things!

So come at me, Miss DeCuir!

Ryugi struck a stance, legs sliding out to the sides one at a time, arms crossed across his chest, head held high and scarf fluttering behind him as his red eyes landed upon the sight of his female opponent.

I am Ryugi Kazamaru, Co-Captain and Chief Morale Officer of TEAM UNBREAKABLE RESOLVE.

My will is indomitable and my spirit undoubtable!

So, Raien DeCuir, show me the might of YOUR resolve!!

So mighty was the force of Ryugi's voice and the power of his pose it seemed to ignite it, and aura of flames forming up around him as he posed, bathed in them, ignoring the silly ghostly voice because it was silly and stupid, and totally didn't belong in this show.

Someone needed to fire a writer or two.

11Sins of an Angel

Where was that music coming from?

Raien looked around with earnest curiosity, despite being notably creeped out by the strange goings on, there was a certain level of humor here and she was, oddly, a little impressed by the sudden introduction of background music.

Theme song perhaps?

At this point she wouldn't really be surprised. There was something this guy seemed to enjoy about posing for the camera that kept Raien scratching her head. She had never met anyone quite like him before, nor had anything like this ever happened to her. The lady mage let the boisterous fellow give a heroic and very encouraging speech while she climbed over one conveyor belt, chuckling to herself. "Uh-huh. They sure did." She commented off-hand while climbing over the next, not so much as looking back at her opponent while he did his very job of boosting the morale for their non-existent audience. "I like your spirit Mr. Kazamaru. You keep that up."

Once she had achieved a suitable height, Rai stood up, while taking caution to maintain her balance and using her staff to her advantage.

Whether he noticed or not, she wasn't standing in the same spot she had been moments ago but instead had relocated to someplace far more convenient. Without even thinking about the action, she scooped up a good handful of the gooey, sugary (and probably cavity inducing) gunk for which the factory was aptly named.

"I hope I don't disappoint."

-SPLAT-

Raien had hucked the sticky, gooey blob right at her opponent - hopefully hitting him square in the face and completely shattering any illusion of seriousness that might have lingered with the end of his speech. Even if it hadn't hit it's intended target, the effect would still be the same, just - not as humorous.

"I mean it when I say - that was some speech. Have you ever considered becoming a motivational speaker?" She grinned, from ear to ear as if she had never even thrown the blue crystal blop to begin with.

She had thus initiated the beginning of the match.

[1/10]

12Ryugi Kazamaru

HoH 2011 - What the?! That\'s my monologue you\'re messing with!

-SPLAT-

Fruity. Ryugi remembered that taste. So why was it all over his face? And during a monologue of MANLINESS no doubt! For shame! Ryugi pulled the substance off his face...and sampled another bit of it as he blinked and glanced back at the woman with a very disapproving look on his face.

What's the meaning of this!? Don't you know you're not supposed to interrupt a man when he's speaking a monologue? Sure you can sneak around and plot something, but at least have the courtesy to wait until he's finished!

Ryugi pouted and got all flustered, a rather large vein appearing on his head as an eye twitched with irritation.

This is a slight that I cannot forgive easily! From now on, we'll have to fight TWICE AS SPIRITED to make up for this goop-slinging incident. Save that for the press!

Ryugi shook himself off and rolled into a fighting stance. This time if the woman tried to do any tossing of anything he'd be ready to intercept it or avoid it. Hitting a man in the middle of his manly speech, just despicable! This time he'd be ready, and it was ready to get this fight going properly!

HoH 2011 - Clean face and burning heart, the battle begins again!

Alright, let's get this thing started on the right foot!

With a flash, a ball of energy pulsed into being and solidified into a shield in Ryugi's left hand, and with a powerful jump, Ryugi launched himself towards the young woman balancing from her perch where she had thrown the blob of fruity goopy mess at his face. if she was balancing as carefully as she seemed, then him ramming the supporting area where she stood should give her something ELSE to worry about than ruining perfectly heroic and manly speeches!

Hmm, speeches rhymed with peaches.

Ryugi's stomach grumbled.

[1/10]

13Sins of an Angel

There was no more joyous a sound as the disgustingly hilarious SPLAT that followed as the gooey blob made contact with her opponent's face as so Raien hoped and fully intended. His monologue had been capped off before it could go on for any longer, even though Rai hated to be rude.

The man pouted, and she was momentarily distracted by the appearance of yet another cartoon-like effect that illustrated his annoyance, giving him the opportunity to leap into action - complete with energy-ball turned magnificent shield.

"Alright, let's get this thing started on the right foot!"

Ryugi's statement however, was all the preparation she needed, as he practically announced himself before charging like an angry bull at the support beam for the conveyor belt. She only had one place to go and that was up - as she jumped quickly before he collided - and over - having the advantage of height and enough clearance to hop over Ryugi, making sure to grip her staff with both hands in their respective positions while she landed behind him. Her body immediately went into a crouching form in order to absorb the shock of the landing, but Raien used the momentum to turn herself around and swing the staff at her opponent's legs after pulling her hands a little closer together to allow that freedom of movement while maintaining a proper grip.

At her level now, she heard a humorously loud rumbling, a dissatisfied growl from her opponent's stomach, "Why Mr. Kazamaru, if i had known you were hungry we could have met for breakfast before our bout!" She teased, but in good fun.

[2/10]

14Ryugi Kazamaru

Well, so much for that! Ryugi rammed into the support bream for the conveyor belt with all the force he could muster, which, as it turned out, was quite a lot of force indeed. The ramming strike actually bent the support beam inward, and caused the conveyor belt above to dip behind him, creating a cascade of silly rock-based toys to fall behind him.

Coincidentally, he'd heard footfalls land behind him as well. Didn't that mean his light-on-her-feet opponent was right under the avalanche of rocky, poorly made and crafted, toys? If the young woman continued to brave the falling facsimiles of the Diamond Katana Mobile, she'd surely get several bumps on the head that would be unpleasant and unwelcome!

Of course, after ramming the support beam, Ryugi would turn to look behind him and turn the shield to face the young woman's assumed position in a blocking manner to defend against another craftily concocted attack. But if she was busy avoiding falling objects, that might hinder her plan to strike Ryugi's legs.

Ryugi's defensive position would, sadly, do little to protect a shot to his legs, but his stance of planting his feet to bolster the shield's ability to absorb impact would serve to limit his ability to be knocked down or tripped by the blow, and the shinguards built into the boots would serve to defend against the direct impact force as well, even if the shield itself would do little to stop the woman's cleverly created assault on his legs.

Perhaps I'll take you up on lunch afterward! It would be my pleasure.

A grin and a smirk from behind the shield.

Small talk was easy in combat when you'd been fighting for centuries.

[2/10]

15Sins of an Angel

Well - being so light-on-her-feet might have helped her to avoid what would have been a nasty tumble right off of the conveyor belt and quite literally hop over her opponent but Rai had been to excited with her own cleverness to fully think about what kind of situation she might be putting herself into instead.

The noise as Ryugi clashed with the support beam rang out through the whole factory as a very comically loud clang - complete with a human sized dent in the aforementioned support itself - and sure enough, just as she landed - Raien's would-be perfectly executed retaliation was thwarted by the oncoming of a small avalanche. An avalanche consisting of fist sized rocks, poorly painted to resemble some sort of toy truck sporting what looked like diamond swords. Her first, instinctual reaction was to guard with her staff in futile attempt to protect her head. She used the moment to start drawing upon the energies present within this plane, this realm, in preparation for something yet to be seen.

Sure, the rock toys weren't that big and weren't that heavy but they were many in number and certainly not soft!

"Ow ow, Ow-" Rai vocalized her annoyance with the pointy and hard little toys as she tried to combat as many as possible. Those would definitely leave bruises tomorrow, and the lady mage frowned at the thought. The onslaught was only so much, fortunately, but by the time the rain of toys had stopped, her opponent was back on his feet and taking cover behind his shield.

"Perhaps I'll take you up on lunch afterward! It would be my pleasure."

Her frown curled into a little grinning smile, and Raien kicked at a few toys by her feet before responding. "That certainly sounds like a plan then." Her grin became a little more devious, if only because she was entirely too amused with what she had planned next. "We'll make it a big celebratory meal - regardless of who comes out the victor here, but for now - "

Raien held fast to her staff, still with both hands and angled it downwards, just before the gathered energies were expelled forth from the foci point - the crystal at the head of the staff - in a small burst that sent toys flying about and the brunt of which, at her opponent.

Quote:** Wrote:

-Impact Burst: Raien can also channel the energies into the staff that, upon a direct hit, can be expelled outward in a small, localized burst that deals minor damage and used primarily for knockback.

Usable once every three turns - Half turn charge.

He would have to react quickly to guard himself from an onslaught of the ugly, mass produced, would-be toy and thusly leave himself open. Regardless of which way he chose to block, Rai was quick to follow up with a forward lunge and thrust of her staff straight on into her opponent. Whether she hit shield, or hit him, wasn't important, but she remained on the offensive.

[3/10]

16Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi's energy sensing eye saw the energy pulsing into the staff and knew that something was soon to be heading his way. But whatever that was, he still had his shield, approximately 4-4.5 feet long and three feet wide, to offer him some semblance of cover. But Ryugi wasn't interested in cowering behind the shield. Oh no! That wasn't manly enough!

Ryugi's right arm moved up and to his side as he grinned, pumping the arm up and down, and as he did, the sound of a train whistle blew, as if signaling the arrival of an old school steam locomotive. As Raien puzzled over the sound, Ryugi would charge ahead from his position, using the shield on his left as a makeshift battering ram as he shot forward, rocky toys bounding off the metallic shield, sending them flying to either side, and some even back at his opponent.

Had Raien ever stared down a steaming locomotive?

No, really, there was a superimposed outline of a train billowing steam as Ryugi charged ahead.

Complete with speed lines.

If the woman didn't move, Ryugi seemed perfectly keen on running her over, or at least continuing forward until he sandwiched her between the shield and the far wall, which, incidentally, was where a large goopy mess of fruity stuff was dripping towards a collecting conveyor belt. The impact would hurt enough, but imagine the damage to her pride if she was entombed in fruity goop?

That would be such a pain to get out of her hair, too.

[3/10]

17Sins of an Angel

Her opponent was a clever one indeed, and Raien had not expected him to catch on to her little trick so quickly. She had to give him credit for that, but it did put a damper in her plan unfortunately. Instead of cowering and attempting to shield himself from the onslaught of toys from all sides all frantic-like as she had expected, he charged on through and let the toys bounce off of his shield like they were made out of rubber, instead of rocks and cheap dime store paint. Before anything else, she went right back to channeling those energies through the staff's foci, drawing them into herself in preparation for something else.

She met Ryugi's charge by quickly pulling the staff back in to herself and using it to guard against the shield-become battering ram. Raien knew she couldn't hold him back for too long, despite her strong stance. Her opponent was bigger and very determined. In fact, she could have sworn he resembling a speeding train coming ready to barrel her down - no - no he actually was. There was steam billowing out of nowhere she could plainly see and Raien realized she had not been simply imagining the whistle blow.

This fight was very strange and only halfway through. Quickly, Rai took a quick glimpse over her shoulder, to get an idea of what was behind her. The wall was stacked with boxes and lined with even more conveyors where mounds of the blue crystal goop sat, dripping and just making a mess of everything.

That would not be pleasant. "Ohh no you don't!" Using the shield as a fulcrum, still gripping the staff she let it roll off the side and around, to catch her opponent in the back of his head with a good upwards thrust of the staff's length - just as she herself fell off to the side.

Her balance had been thrown, sure but not without a little retribution - and a cheeky little grin all the same.

18Ryugi Kazamaru

A charging locomotive was very difficult to stop, and as Ryugi continued on, he'd wind up striking against Raien's staff. That kind of an impact would probably serve to throw her off-kilter a little bit, but Ryugi wasn't really worrying about that as the woman slipped to the side, using her staff to pivot on the shield and to the side.

Ryugi continued his charge, more out of momentum's sake than anything else as he moved to stop himself, skidding and spinning around on the floor on his feet as he turned to face Raien, and the tip of the staff hitting him in the head. It was a well known fact that Ryugi had a hard head, and always had. However, that clunk to the head hurt regardless of how hard and sturdy his head was.

The blow sent Ryugi stumbling backwards a foot or two, stumble for a stumble. It had been an equal trade of blows, and now Ryugi had a very comical looking bump on his head with a little "X" of bandages on top. Of course,. Ryugi's left arm carrying the shield disappeared into the piles of goop, and when he pulled it back out, the shield was missing. Ryugi blinked for a moment before he realized where the shield had to have gone.

Well now, that's a sticky situation...

19Sins of an Angel

Ryugi went skidding and so did Raien, if only a short ways however, coming to a resounding halt on her butt against the hard concrete or whatever crazy kind of flooring lined this ridiculously factory. She used the brief respite to pull forth a little bit more power, of the arcane energies the woman was so aptly known for calling upon.

Seeing her opponent go crashing backwards into the wall, she grinned wide and waved at him, teasing him about his plight. Raien hopped to her feet as quickly as she could and swung her staff up under her left arm in a resting position, but accessible if she had to reach for it suddenly.

Tapping into the gathered energies now, she took a pitcher's stance and in her open right palm a moderate sized sphere - wispy and ethereal, taking on pale shades of lavender, teal and gray - rapidly formed. Just like that - she hurled it straight back at the towers of boxes and what-have you in order to knock them down and bury her opponent in boxes and goopy globs of the blue crystal s**t the factory mass produced.

Battle Info Wrote:

The manipulation of Aetheric energies - Raien draws upon this energy from other planes, into herself using her to channel as a focusing object. Her inherent (racial) abilities allow her to manipulate these energies and utilize them in four different ways: offensively, defensively (passive abilities), supplementary (stat boosting), or crafting/fueling spelled charms. Obviously this is restricted to one specific use at a time.

Offensive - This involves tapping into the gathered energy and focusing it into some kind of physical manifestation. Typically the energies conjured take on various soft, almost ghostly shades of teal, purple and grayish white. Damage taken is directly relevant to opponent’s durability and area of impact.

••••••Moderate sized burst – 1 1/2 posts charge - Damage equivalent to a powerful kick/sheer brute force

Ryugi crossed his arms over his chest as the ball of energy was tossed in his direction. However, he soon realized that he was not the intended target. The trajectory was all wrong. The ball stuck the boxes behind Ryugi and they began to wobble before falling forward, carrying lots of goopy mess.

Ryugi's Scrubs Fantasy Moment Wrote:

However, rather than look worried, Ryugi looked back to Raien and waved with his fingers.

He then snapped his fingers and ducked.

The shield that was currently hidden within the goop behind Ryugi was made of energy that had been crafted and solidified into a shield. Even if Ryugi wasn't touching it, he still knew where it was to a degree, and had control over that energy. Energy which he now detonated.

The explosion caused a wall of goop to push out and away from Ryugi, flying over him, catching the boxes that had been sent towards him, and sending the entire mess towards the young woman a few feet away.

It was a tidal wave of fruity goopiness.

And it was bearing down on Raien's position.

That would have been cool, Ryugi thought, but he quickly snapped to his senses. He hadn't actually done that, had he? That was too much. Plus, fighting in shin high goop wouldn't be fun for anyone. And the stains. Oh god the stains! That would be awful. At about this time, Ryugi looked back up and realized the boxes were still very much raining down on him. So, what is a manly man to do?

Why, make an umbrella of course.

With a flash of light Ryugi quickly manipulated his energy into a comically small umbrella and closed his eyes as a cascade of blue goop fell across his body, burying him in all sorts of squishy nastiness that was better left undescribed. It was everywhere! It was in his raccoon wounds! That little b*****d jumped him on his way to the factory, and this was his revenge! Ryugi cursed fuzzy woodland creatures as he sat in the middle of the muck, completely covered and hidden from sight, the blue goop getting into his clothes, his face, his mouth (OMNOMNOMNOM), and his hair...

But the fight was far from over...

[5/10]

21Sins of an Angel

The fight was far from over...

And how right that was. They were a little more than halfway through, but with plenty of time still left in the game to gain a little bit of ground over her opponent. After pitching him a fastball, that caused an avalanche of boxes containing even more blue crystal s**t, to rain down upon the unsuspecting Ryugi in cartoon-worthy blue gooey heap.

How awesome was that?

But Raien knew just standing around and taking pleasure in her opponent's sudden and probably very sticky plight wasn't going to win the fight and she had to make an offensive move before he. However, the only problem was, he had somehow, quite literally disappeared into the mess of boxes and blue crystal goop. Now, Raien was a smart girl, she knew he was in there somewhere, but, well, exactly where was the million dollar question. With pursed lips she crossed the distance between herself and the heap, allowing the staff to swing out from under her left arm so she could grip it with both hands. There was a phrase that had been used by an old friends once, a one Alex Morgan in a humorous attempt at teaching the mage to play a game of pool: "just poke and hope".

Which is exactly what she did, more or less. Rai thrust the butt of the staff into the pile, hoping to strike gold, so to speak.

Nice as she was, a fight was a fight and well, they could always make amends for any bruises exchanged and bones broken later, over lunch!

HoH 2011 - You gotta have the blue hair!

Raien wouldn't have very much time to plot out her next few moves, because something was already going on under the pile of goop. The Blue Crystal Goop permeated Ryugi's existence, and as it did, Ryugi felt a surge of power well up from within him. A new feeling seemed to flow from his heart. His spirit was ignited! It was amazing. He felt heroic, empowered, MANLY! As Raien neared, the pile of blue goop shook and a thunderous battle cry tore from the remaining sludge.

  • GYYYYYYAAAAHHHHH!! -

A thunderous pulse of energy shot away from the center of the pile as the goop literally exploded away from Ryugi, his body glowing with yellowy, green-blue energies, the stuff flying off in all directions to splatter against the walls or any other nearby objects, especially the young woman nearest his position... It was the power of the Blue Crystal s**t, the power of all anime heroes! It was the power...OF HIS BLUE HAIR.

As Raien recovered, she'd spy Ryugi standing in the middle of the mess, clothes blasted clean, safe for his new aura of power, and his shimmering azure locks. His red eyes burned with the same flames as before, and a wickedly wacky grin was on his face as he struck a pose, scarf flaring behind him as yet another wind from nowhere seemed to send the garment fluttering in a dramatic and heroic fashion.

You can sully my clothing and hair all you like Miss DeCuir...

Ryugi's pose seemed to radiate his spirit as waves of light trailed along the floor like a golden, green and blue fog as his right arm snapped up to point at wherever the young woman had wound up after the wave of goop had flown from his body. His heart was pure and his words were true as he continued, slamming the right hand to his chest with a thump as background music thundered away, guitar riffs tearing the air in heroic, upbeat earnest.

But the one thing you'll never sully...

IS MY UNBREAKABLE FIGHTING SPIRIT!!

With that, Ryugi charged, feet and boots tearing into the ground as he dashed towards whatever the young woman had in store for him. Big, small, outspoken or not, nothing would stop his heroic charge to continue the fight as he lead the charge with his burning spirit!

[6/10]

23Sins of an Angel

Even as she approached the heap, the goopy pile of Blue Crystal s**t and the boxes that could not possibly contain their mass - there was a rustling Rai did not take notice to until it was far too late to do anything about said movement. Sure, she tried to jab at the mound of cardboard and goo but it was a futile effort.

  • GYYYYYYAAAAHHHHH!! -

The typically well composed sorceress emitted a rather high-pitched squeak, having been taken entirely off-guard by her opponent's sudden re-appearance.

She should have seen it coming - as he burst forth from the pile in a show of thunder and an aura pulsing with brilliantly glowing energy, looking very much like he stepped right out of those crazy cartoons where everyone had multi-colored hair and flashy abilities.

He had taken her by surprise and the burst had caused her to stagger and skid backwards on her butt a good few feet. Raien scrambled to find her footing again, all the while shielding herself from getting pelted by the suddenly air-born globs of Blue Crystal s**t and any cardboard that was to follow. It was everywhere, clinging to her coat with bits getting caught in her hair, making the woman purse her lips in a frown. It was anything but pleasant.

By the time she recovered, her opponent had launched into a heroic speech, complimented by a mysterious wind and strangely familiar background music. Rai didn't really have a lot of time to question the presence of said wind when there were no windows, and the music certainly wasn't pumping out of the PA system and quickly but carefully, shed her stained coat and left the staff on the ground.

"Crap..."

She was ready just as her opponent had started forward, pulling the scarf around her waist free and twisting (one end in each hand). As soon as he was upon her, Rai moved forward to meet him (despite fear of getting bowled over) and swung the twisted scarf over her opponent's head and neck right before thrusting a boot (right leg) into his chest.

He was a moving target, and still likely going to take her down with him if he fell or kept going but it was worth a shot no? Especially if she forced her weight all to her left. If they went down, they were going down on her terms.

[7/10]

24Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi charged in, hair still azure blue, spirit still burning bright. He was ready to continue this and show what he was made of for the last few moments. Time was ticking away, after all, and a man only gets one chance to make a first impression!

As he neared, energy pulsed around Ryugi's left hand and an exact replica of the shield that he had created before pulsed into being, just as Ryugi shot out in a punch with the very same hand aimed into Raien's midsection. He ducked low, putting the force of his charge and the twisting of his body into the blow.

Of course, while ducked, Raien would find that Ryugi's head ducked behind the shield, making it very difficult for her scarf to be effective as a means of gripping him. In that same instance, if she was still going to kick at him, she'd have to be kicking around the large shield, and that would be rather difficult as well.

Despite the uncertainties, whatever happened next was going to be interesting...

[7/10]

25Sins of an Angel

Uh-oh.

Her carefully laid plan had been thwarted once again by her crafty opponent, still glimmering in a blaze of light. She still wasn't sure how that happened, but clearly, the Blue Crystal s**t had permeated his very being and seemingly worked to his advantage.

This was bound to end badly.

There would be no scarf grabbing for her unfortunately, as he ducked and timed his actions with the sudden appearance of his shield again, or at least a recreation of it. He clever and quick, and certainly keeping Raien on her toes. Sadly, she hadn't the chance to admire these traits before he was shield punching her, completely interrupting her earlier actions.

He nailed her square in the chest, and while the position that had her reaching forward (and thusly her body arched) offered some help against the sudden blow, it still had enough power behind it to force her back. Luckily, it didn't wind her, but it didn't mean that it wouldn't hurt. The biggest issue, was that Rai didn't work well up close and personal, despite how exciting such a scuffle would be - as a caster, she was not built for it.

Thinking quickly, she braced herself with her hands flat against the offending shield and expelled the remaining energies outwards - which would effectively force her opponent back and give Raien enough room to get away, and start conjuring more power just in case.

Ability Used Wrote:

••••••Knockback burst - No post charge but 3 post cool down. The purpose of this is to put distance between her opponent and herself in a pinch or when she needs to get away quickly. Also helpful towards flying or aerial opponents. This attack inflicts no direct damage to the opponent unlike the bursts, but knocks them back at a distance of two feet – essentially equivalent to someone forcefully shoving them away with all their strength.

Two feet was not a lot but all she needed was a minute to pick up her discarded staff and recover from the shield punch.

[8/10]

26Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi's punch made contact and Ryugi followed through with the motion, which would actually wind up tossing Raien some distance away before he finally stopped and she moved herself away from him with her attack. Ryugi chuckled and hopped back, giving the young woman a little more range. If he was interested in an easy win, he could have just continued the assault, but right now, he was much more interested in seeing what the young woman could do if given some proper distance.

So, he'd play to her strengths.

Energy shimmered along the shield as a new addition was grafted onto the energy-based construct and it changed shape to be completely circular. Still watching the young woman, Ryugi dropped the shield to the ground, revealing a rather large length of chain, before he jerked it up and began to swing it quite readily over his head, spinning it into a blur of movement.

Now that we're both at range, you can show me a little more of your spirit, Miss DeCuir.

It was her move...

[8/10]

27Sins of an Angel

So the playing field had indeed been leveled again when her expulsion of energy put space between Raien's opponent and herself. She had tried to push him back, but as he had been already committed to moving forward and putting all of his force into the shield punch, it had the exact opposite effect and forced her back instead.

Regardless, she got the space she desired and then some as he willingly moved back a few more steps to accommodate her. A little grin unfurled onto her face, and even still she was conjuring power, spindling the energy into a neat little collective within her person.

That was rather gentlemanly of him.

"If you insist - than gladly."

Of course, she was not about to squander this opportunity and Raien wasted no time sprinting back behind to collect her earlier discarded staff and taking up form again - all in all putting about 6 feet of distance between herself and her dashing opponent.

Any smart individual would have immediately noticed the newly crafted weapon he possessed, swinging around wildly and ready to strike out at any moment.

Rai had to be quick and deadly.

She swung the staff around to her left, - gripping it over hand with her right arm quite literally resting on the length as her left crossed her body to grip it from the underside - as she approached, making it seem like she had very different intentions. Instead of jabbing at him once in range, she swung the staff up over her head, right back down to her right waist and snapped upwards (making a slight angle) in a hook, to catch her opponent across his body.

Her movements were quick and fluid, intending to confuse and catch him off his guard, and would be a nasty little attack if successful, and if he was unlucky enough to take the head of the staff to open skin? Well, the rocky surface of the crystal foci wasn't exactly soft you know. Either way, taking such a sudden whack anywhere to his person wasn't going to feel great. The staff wasn't terribly heavy (nearing somewhere at 5 pounds maximum with the majority of the weight being in either end) but it sure was solid.

[Charge: 1.5]

Video in reference for her actions.

28Ryugi Kazamaru

Ryugi's eye watched as Raien drew in more energy. This was great. He wanted to see what she had, and he wanted to see her spirit and determination where she could be at her best. As she turned her back on him and moved to gather her staff, Ryugi took two large steps backward, extending the distance between them to approximately ten feet from the previous four, which had been extended to six feet after Raien moved back to gather her weapon. However, she charged in soon after. Despite her charge, Ryugi's brain was already going a million miles a second.

Raien's quarterstaff was a weapon with a decent range as far as how it could be used in combat. However, Ryugi had even more range on his opponent with his weapon and their current distance of ten feet. As Raien moved in to try and strike at Ryugi, the white clad man, shining with glowing blue hair, swung his arms down and to his left as he spun his body to his left about five feet, a whirring sound zipping towards Raien while she was still at a considerable distance from him. The heavy flail-like tip of the weapon aimed to strike her in her midsection if she did not avoid it or block it.

Even if she rushed forward, she'd still have the chain to deal with, which would serve as an obstacle, and at the speed Ryugi was spinning the weapon, it could easily swirl around the young woman and trap her in its clutches. It was safe to assume that if the tip hit, it would hurt, making intrusion into the range around Ryugi dangerous. It wasn't huge, but it was at least ten feet between Ryugi, and the tip of his weapon, which he spun and wielded with ease due to his strength.

In short, Raien's strike with her staff would be interrupted by Ryugi's strike with his weapon as she moved to try and charge, as he zipped sideways to bolster the impact force, and the movement speed of his own blow, as well as to continue the swing if he missed his first strike. Ryugi was a playful kind of guy, but he really did want to see what Raien had in her. Charging into close range combat with Ryugi was a dangerous proposition, and he knew that.

And so, he wanted to see if he could get her to showcase some of her fancier, perhaps flashier, abilities.

After all, the fight was ending quite soon.

And Ryugi wanted it to be a good end.

[9/10]

((It has come to my attention that I haven't been outwardly stating the drain on Ryugi's stamina from his abilities that he's used. In the past, this has never caused an issue or been suggested. Therefore, in my defense, I was not aware that I was required to do so. However, in light of being confronted about it, I will do so in future fights for the sake of the judges and for an accurate tracking of Ryugi's energy usage.)).

29Sins of an Angel

Committed to her actions, having struck at her opponent with the staff gripped tightly in her hands, determination to succeed plainly evident on her face - it was difficult for Raien to suddenly re-route any attack as her opponent so swiftly turned away and gave a great swing with his weapon.

As it stood, the only option was to turn her upper body quickly guard her against the blow. The angle was awkward, her torso having twisted to the side - still in position from the initial strike attempt - in order to suddenly meet the incoming weapon. The staff now held diagonally, at least prevented the chain from wrapping around but didn't protect her from getting clipped by the head of the weapon along her right side, effectively tearing the only fabric covering her torso and the first layer of skin beneath.

First blood went to her opponent, literally

The collision shook her form and subsequently knocked the staff from her arms, sending it scattering across the concrete floor and out of close range. This was the end of the bout and there would be no time to make a run for the discarded weapon. It wasn't a complete loss, for she had been continuously drawing familiar arcane energies into her person with the full intent to utilize said power in a final display of skill and an immediate follow-up from the de-armed mage made up for the loss of her weapon.

[Charge: 2]

Before her opponent could react or correct the path of the swing, she thrust her hands, palms out at his unprotected face and expelled forth all the collected energy in a straight on burst

As always, there was a chance he could attempt to guard at the last second - her body stood a good 5 feet but her fully extended hands closed some of that distance, and the force of the burst would see to a harsh impact one way or another. He had wanted a good finish and this was what she could provide in the midst of a tight situation.

"No hard feelings Mr. Kazamaru - Just trying to make a good show!" She commented, regardless of what happened or how he reacted in kind.

The woman's FIGHTER alerted her to the bout's final seconds, indicating very clearly that their time was indeed up in mere moments.

30Ryugi Kazamaru

HoH 2011 - For every End, a Beginning

Well, there were a multitude of things Ryugi could have done, but none of them were really in the spirit of things. Ryugi had a dream, and a desire. Both were at the heart of his reason for joining Heaven or Hell this year. Every single year that the tournament had gone on, except for one when he fought alongside the Society of the Shade, he'd been a competitor. His very first year, his team, a team of underdogs and virtual unknowns, had battled hard, fighting against everything to reach the finals. The significance of that battle in the ring that year had never truly sunk in until recently.

For too long competitors had fought tooth and nail, doing horrible, brutal things to one another all to grasp victory. They tossed aside everything simply to win. And in the end, they lost the spirit that drove them. Fighters far and wide had been drawn into combat thinking only of winning, of themselves, and never of anything but the chance at being crowned the victors of Heaven or Hell. But Ryugi, and the other members of TEAM UNBREAKABLE RESOLVE, were different.

As Raien deflected most of Ryugi's attack and shot forth her blast, Ryugi made no motion to block, or defend against the close range shot. He released his hold on the chain as the force knocked him backwards and off his feet. He was cast backwards through the air and into a large stack of boxes that fell all around him, once again burying him and hiding him from view. For that moment, all was silent inside the factory. Had Raien's blast knocked Ryugi out cold? Had she delivered a single one-hit victory? Cameras would roll, pressing in on the pile of stuff, until a gentle movement came from one of the fallen boxes, and a sound as well.

It was laughter.

It wasn't the sort of laughter filled with malice or ill intentions, but the laughter of someone who was seriously enjoying themselves, the laughter of joy and amusement. With a shove, a hand pushed itself up and out from under the boxes, followed by the form of Ryugi. His face was battered, and even a little trickle of blood trailed from his nose, but he was grinning all the same. His blue hair had faded, and returned to its normal silver color. As he stood, he looked to Raien, brushed himself off, and spoke.

Miss DeCuir, that was some kind of spirit you've got there.

Ryugi took a few steps forward towards the young woman and extended his hand for her to shake.

This fight of ours may be over, but Heaven or Hell is just beginning. Every year I see new faces walking into the arena, new hearts ready to take on the challenge of the toughest fighters Gaia has to offer. And every year, I see plenty of them fail to reach the top.

That spirit you just showed me back there...don't you lose it.

Remember that determination, resolve, and spirit are what make a fighter who he or she is. Too many fighters forget what this competition is about. It's about skill, a test of ability, not a test of who's stronger or a race to see who can rip the most people to shreds before another person can out do you.

If you aren't enjoying yourself, Miss DeCuir, then someone is playing this game wrong.

Ryugi would shake her hand if it was offered, if not, he'd bow, thanking her for the fight just the same before continuing. The fight was effectively over now, and he was free to impart a little wisdom to this first-time-combatant.

So, do me a favor. Even if you lose a bout, know that I'll be rooting for you, and anyone else like you who knows what a good fight is in this crazy tournament. Because no loss can squelch that spirit to press on and amidst everything, enjoy yourself.

If you take anything with you after this fight, remember that.

And so, with those final words, Ryugi finished, and smiled. He'd had a good warm up, and he couldn't have asked for a better opponent to give him that warm up. The tournament was just starting, and ahead of him and his team was a whole roster full of fighters, each fighting their own way. But in the end, the only thing that mattered to Ryugi was that he enjoy himself, and that he impart that kind of belief and joy to those that he battled along the way. He'd fire the Heavens with his burning spirit, and wouldn't stop until he'd showed everyone what it meant to truly be a p[art of the tournament he'd enjoyed for so many years.

So then, about that lunch...

[10/10]

31Sins of an Angel

Her opponent, the very boisterous and cheerful gentleman had indeed taken her by surprise with his last actions - having made no attempts at dodging or blocking and taking what she dished out full on. Interesting. Amusing even, as he was flung backwards into another massive pile of boxes that did well to hide him, but only for a moment.

When he pulled himself out of the mess, followed by a resounding laughter, she was a little puzzled and ready to act, but the FIGHTER around her wrist noisily announced the end of the bout. She looked down at it, both with relief and some disappointment. Fighting wasn't something she thoroughly enjoyed and there was nothing left to worry about, but her frustration stemmed from the short bout, making her feel like there hadn't been enough time to really show what she could do, given the opportunity.

It was forgotten when Ryugi approached and greeted her like any good sport would, even offering to shake. Rai wondered how many of the competitors would have the same attitude, but shook hands all the same.

"Much appreciated, I'm glad you've enjoyed yourself. I don't expect too many more opportunities to do so in the future."

He went on to praise her spirit, resolve, and whatever else - but as kind as those words were, and very humbly taken to heart, she laughed nervously, hesitation plain on her face. "It's all very good and well of you to say that but I'm afraid my reasons for being here make it a little difficult to have fun. Not that I'm at all interested in winning either, just - backing up a dear friend in a time of need. But, maybe if my other opponents have as pleasant an attitude as yours then it won't be so bad. Anyway, enough about that."

She smiled, easy and honest.

"So then, about that lunch..."

"Oh! Right, well, as much fun as it might be to brag about those bruises and bloody nose to the waitresses, I imagine you'll want to get cleaned up before food. The Hawk has a couple of nice little restaurants built right into it, some a little less ritzy than others but the food is just as good I'm sure." She motioned towards the route that lead to the door so they could be on their way.
