Bloodwater Mists

Yup. It seems they really weren't kidding about the whole, "too bad if you lose" thing, because guess who got "rescued," given food, then dumped right back into this hell hole? Odessa.
Only now, Rising Star gets a taste too! And for added fun: the last set of "fights" here agitated the ecosystem and wildlife something fierce.
It was hungrier.
Only a real sadist would send a living creature into this horrific no man's land in the western border nation of Zine known as Baelmog. There were no "routes" into this place, no roads, no paths. Frankly, travelers knew better than to even enter. Stories were told and peddled, about magi gone mad, about olden gods waging war, about the world itself dying and this place being an example of its death throes; few people had any interest in confirming a damned spec of it.
It was very hot. Absurdly humid, it was almost impossible within moments of arriving not to break out into a sweat. What often killed the foolhardy, was some kind of bizarre mirage - upon being submerged in the disgusting, nearly boiling hot waters, one would see nearby land. Yet, no matter how hard they swam, how long they marched, they would never reach it. Eventually, they would die from exhaustion and losing too much blood to the innumerable leeches; outside rescue from above was virtually the only means of survival.
Perfect too! Since, a military airplane tilted to one side.. and dumped both of the combating teams out of it, sans a parachute, at just the right height -- causing both teams to fall straight into the parasite ridden waters. Likely wouldn't hurt them ... initially. The immediate area was around 100x100ft, the waters in said region waist high with no discernible height difference. Off in the distance, you could see an inviting shore..
"GREEAKKKGHGHGHG!!!! GREREAKGKGGKGGHK!!"
..and hear the most obnoxious screech of your life worse than a banshee's or any other, causing your ears to throb in agonizing pain.
Quote:** Wrote:General - A 100ft x 100ft circular region of downright terrible watermarsh.
The water itself is at a lovely 125° F; within five-six minutes, third degree burns would set in. Comfortable. Of course, multi-thousands of fat sluglike, dark black leeches that would immediately begin sinking into every bit of exposed flesh and attempt to bite through your clothing would be noticeable.
If that doesn't seem comforting enough, the bedding of this area is made of extremely smooth stone; due to the buoyancy of this water, movement isn't impeded at all. One can maneuver as though they were on land.
Off in the near-yet-so-far distance, some monkey creature keeps howling. It is legitimately painful, and you can to your surprise, feel your ears begin to irritate into injury.
The entire area is foggy, creating 50% vision conditions.
Finally, of what you can see of the sky, .. it is to your growing dread, for the sky is colored a particularly ominous mixture of black and green.
Weapons - Leeches, if you feel grabbing leeches is particularly intelligent. You can also splash the boiling hot water you're submerged into at your opponent. Sky's the limit.
Natural Element Resource - Water, stone.
Bonus Effects -
-Fog/Steam: 50% vision.
-Water: After 4 posts, fighters' flesh will begin scalding.
-Leeches: Stamina will degrade over the course of the fight, unless care is demonstrated. That having been said, the leeches are very affectionate. They'll draw their body's worth in blood, fall off, and let their next of kin take a shot.
-Screeching: Every 2 posts (e.g. 2nd posts, 4th posts, 6th, etc.), a demonic monkey will howl, causing intense ear pain. Someone can learn the timing of this; how they use this knowledge is up to them.
-Oh! Lonesome Me: At 3rd, 6th, 9th posts, acid rain will rapidly plummet onto the entire region. This will be short lived, ending the same post it starts, but will be a very intense downpour, outright soaking the fighters. Witty fighters who submerge themselves will not only still be affected, but likely coat their faces in leeches, and draw the horrific liquid into their nostrils and ear cavities. Regardless, the effects of this rain include coughing, breathing problems, irritated eyes, mucus buildup, lung burning, and if not treated by HoH's finest after this match, death. Fortunately, the tournament committee have your health in mind.. unless you lose, then you're not really important.
