Note: for the original conditions upon the team's entry, check the bottom of the post.

BURNS BRIGHTLY.

[General] - The stone cathedral is being bombarded by concentrated solar rays, tearing itself down around you as Barsait envisioned. Were that your only problem, for ahead of you are three ghastly "golems," a madman wielding flames serpentine flames, six monstrous sun-regurgitating "masks," and of course: a golden gardener snake, your "Coin."

[Weapons] - Ornate and relatively brittle claymore swords on the walls in crossed-X formations. Otherwise, nothing seems to stand out as a weapon source.

[Natural Element Resource] - THE SUN. If only you had a valid way to harvest it.

[Bonus Effects] - THE RED HOUR, detailed in Elim Post #2.

[Other] - If you cannot destroy [The Gold Coin] before the building around you is annihilated, there's no telling what might happen. Better get on that.

VICTORY: Defeat Omi Barsait -or- Destroy the "Coin."

DEFEAT: Fail to achieve victory conditions before the building around you is razed to the ground, or before Omi kills your party.

[ENEMIES]

-Omi Barsait, under the influence of the mysterious "Red Hour."

-Golem A.

-Golem B.

-Golem C.

-Terrifying wall-mounted sun vomiting machinations known as "Masks."

Note: While your entire team has rights to post, the eliminator will be posting heedless of any post order. Ex: Two fighters may post, then the eliminator, then one fighter, then the eliminator. Furthermore, you resign the rights to forfeit or drop out of this battle. If you can't post, your character will suffer. Scramble.

The light at the end of the tunnel.

You and your teammates had been transported in the back of an armored vehicle, driving along for quite a few hours. Little information was fed to you, and far less compassion - the buggy tank hybrid crashing against large rocks and smashing you about inside its lime green metal compartment with little care. You weren't going to get any sleep, that was for sure.

Suddenly, you came to an abrupt stop. Little did you know just where you had been taken: over the borders of Zine, a nasty landlocked nation that typically required either fat wealth or a literal arm & leg sold to get through the border-guard. A man in dark green metallic armor with a beret leaned out the transport vehicle's driver window and barked "Get walking down the pathway, your party's waiting for you at the cathedral. Long as you stay along the road, you won't die." Didn't even wait to pull his head back in before the ignition fired up and the vehicle took off with toxic smoke blasting your faces. Sure enough, there was a dismal dirt road lined with stepping stones you were standing in front of, though that wasn't the first thing to catch your eyes.

It was dark.

The sky, rather. Zine was a nation who knew not the touch of the sun, thanks to a massive shell that encased it - a false sky casting it in constant darkness instead. Electric glow in the form of torch-lamps with an unusual spherical design replaced the glow, weather regulated with bizarre machinations. Still, you had yourself a destination. Might as well hoof it.

Massive metal gates were open for you at this odd, Gothic cathedral forged out of stone. Wearily, your team makes its way inside.. only to of course, have those gates shut, with such ferocity you'd likely lost a limb were you not too quick on the uptake.

Ahead of a small pedestal, between rows of seats, was a simple red carpet leading to a golden altar with odd statues -- a man with his back to your party standing before it. Candles danced and fraught with every passing moment. Perhaps, your eyes would be drawn to the ornate glass windows, such pretty designs intended to replicate the look of sunlight striking them all over.

More likely, your ears would drag you down to your FIGHTER, with its attention demanding beeps.

Code: You have arrived at the designated location.

There will be a man here who will guide you through your Elimination ordeal.

His name is Barsait.

Good luck.

..easy enough. And lucky you, he even turned the scant 20 feet between you to gaze the lot of you down, arms outstretched and a pleasant, greeting smile on his face.

And two massive, red, snake-shaped shoulder pauldrons grafted on his upper body.

A body, blatantly armed with cruel implements of torture and combat.

"Gentlemen. Greetings~" Several of DARE would know this fellow at first sight: [Omi Barsait]. And he seemed cordial, so perhaps he was merely a guide to their challenge ahead yet. After all, not a single member of the team was briefed on just what their eliminator was. "Please, grab yourself a shot of the good stuff on that pedestal ahead of you. I assure you it isn't poisoned -- if we'd wanted you dead, we'd done so in your sleep." Such..... reassuring words, mouthed with that toothy smile of his.

What he referred to, were four large goblets of rich red wine on the pedestal ahead of them. Thick and rich looking, no doubt they were full of flavor. And he had made quite the valid point: no point in transporting these men all the way out here just to poison them. Likelihood was in the negatives.

"Drink as you please, we'll chat a little bit first. Unless, you want to just dive right on into this thing." Barsait smiled broader.

CRNNKKKKKclickclickclick

An ornate metallic shield fell off one of the cathedral's rafters, clattering loudly on the stone floor just to the left of your party's entrance.

Screws.. hinges.. chairs -- things were beginning to rumble. Even the goblets were quivering. Everything in the room was shaking at an increased octave of power a second, while Barsait seemed entirely unphased -- cupping his hands together in front of his waist and calmly offering: "I don't recommend that though. I'll give you your directions here in just a second, but - any questions for me? We're all gentlemen here, lords in our own right - it'd be rude to just thrust things upon you."

The metallic doors behind you, blatantly weighing tons, were rumbling so powerfully that it created a weak but noticeable shock into your very bodies.

You have several options: entertain the man's seemingly gracious offer, close the 20 foot gap and attempt to assault the man despite the clearly ... amiss situation, or commit suicide.

All equally valid choices.

Skritch.

Nothing.

Skritch.

Skritch.

"Ah," With a final striking motion of the thumb, [Edward's Zippo] sparked with life, igniting, and holding a steady orange hue. Lowering his head, the Cyborg would whisk the tip of his cigarette atop the flame that burned from the silver contraption, inhaling steadily as he did so. With a puff, the tobacco confined in the paper tube went ablaze, glowing red, and graying slowly as it was dragged. Smoke plumed from his mouth between each inhale, whipping about around his figure before eventually raising into the air, trailing until it was barely noticeable. Darren had been the first arrival, it wouldn't be surprising if Edward, and Wiji showed up together. Seeing as they were close with one another; however, their Vampire companion was a completely different story. Who knew if the creature would actually make it, this of course was only an assumption, due to the Drug Lord filling in for KB the previous Round. Darren had lost both front teeth, as well as an unmerciful beating, by a Judge none the less. His attitude toward the Undead would be more than justified. All of this, and the challenge ahead of him, brewed in his mind. Repeating over, and over again. Rinse, and repeat.

Today, Darren was dressed quite fancily. Wearing his custom made Armani suit, and matching fedora. The left side of his face was decorated in a skeletal design, slightly faded from occasional rubbing/itching/wiping out of instinct. Shined dress shoes glistened when the sun struck them right. Gold had replaced the two teeth that were yanked from his mouth, the extravagant color flashing every once in awhile, depending on how much emphasis he used upon speaking. Laying against the wall to the right of him was his weapon of choice, the sledgehammer, the ball of the hammer laid against the ground he stood upon.

"What's this then?" A vehicle had arrived, a military vehicle by the look of it, heavy duty. Very uncomfortable looking. Once the back opened up, Darren dropped his cigarette, snuffing the cherry out with the tip of his right shoe. Snatched his sledgehammer up, and slowly walked toward the rear end of the metal monstrosity. Lowering his head, the Cyborg would enter it, taking a seat near the front of the small confined space his Team had to travel in. 'How the ******** is Wiji going to fit in here?' Darren being 6'2", it was hard enough, but it was going to be a royal pain for Wiji to fit. Once the rest of his Team had arrived, the vehicle started, and immediately drove off upon the rear door closing. "Gentlemen," Was said with a firm, approving nod of the head.

Several, excruciating, hours later the tank they were forced to ride in had came to a stop. Darren being the last to exit the vehicle, would stretch dramatically, yawning as the stretch came to an end. "Get walking down the pathway, your party's waiting for you at the cathedral. Long as you stay along the road, you won't die." With that, the Drug Lord began walking, and would continue to walk alongside his Team until they arrived at their next destination. A Cathedral. Quite beautiful on the outside, probably similar on the inside, maybe more extravagant.

Beep, beep, beep.

Omi Barsait Wrote:

"Please, grab yourself a shot of the good stuff on that pedestal ahead of you."

"Ehhh," With a look of disbelief, Darren cautiously reached forward toward the numerous cups placed before them. Taking hold of one, he'd bring it back, and toward his nose. Giving it a smell over before tipping it back lightly, taking a sip, he'd pull the cup from his mouth. Pushing it forward gesturally toward the man before them, in a cheers fashion. Once the shaking began, Darren held his footing quite well, his mechanical legs helping in his sturdiness.

Omi Barsait Wrote:

"I'll give you your directions here in just a second, but - any questions for me?"

"Give it a whirl, Ed." Darren was of course speaking to his Team Captain, leaving the decision up to him, it was probably best that way. Don't act until provoked.

3Zeo Hiroboshi

Mummy.

Wigi looked like a mummy, all wrapped up in gauze from the severe burns he'd taken last match. The healing staff did all they could to get him in working order, but he obviously wasn't 100%, being all dressed up like some sort of horror show. Still, with or without him the show would go on and whether he liked it or not he was going to roll with the symphony into the next act. Of course enjoyment was never an issue when it came to HoH. There were always more surprises rolling around the corner and more entertainment than a lifetime of experiences could handle.

Wigi would willingly oblige when they strolled him up to the armored contraption, seeming all too jolly for someone whose facial expressions were hidden behind a veil of bandages.

The ride, the stroll, and then the cathedral. Not the most scenic or welcoming route, but with what he faced off against last round it was hard to get frightened by a little chatter and some dark corners. He wasn't stupid however. The ogre would be wary as he made his way to and through the doors. After being ambushed during the prelims it was hard to just sit back and enjoy the ride in this tourney. All the same.... when the doors opened up to reveal Barsait it was hard not to feel a sense of utmost joy from the scene which seemed to play out in the coming moments.

Omi was their 'guide'.

It was enough to make the ogre peel his bandages back to reveal a creeping smile across his harshly burned lips. "OUUUIIJJJJAAAA!!!!" He'd cry out as he pressed himself forward to the pedestal with lumbering, oafish grace. "Its good to see you again Omi." He'd continue with a reminiscent joy lingering in his tone, his bandaged hand reaching for a goblet without hesitation. "This formal s**t doesn't suit you, not with you and me. Play your role with the people who need to have it frilly." He thumbed his free hand towards the people behind him before taking a deep, long drink, draining the cup before even seeming to taste whatever it was within the goblet. He'd let out a satisfied sigh, whether the contents were good or not, and belch out of respect for the 'lord's' selection and slowly lumber his way towards his old friend.

"We got our ways with introductions, but that can wait a time while the others have their fill of 'civility'." He'd pump his fist into the air, his smile turning into a brimming, toothy grin as he turned the goblet upside down and awkwardly planted it atop his head. "But don't keep me waiting long Omi. I feel far too eager to be left on the sidelines much longer."

All the members of DARE showed up to the Cathedral of course, at least one of them dressed like a giant taco. The face of the individual was obscured but simple deduction made it obvious - el taco kb!

He'd exited the armored vehicle with the appropriate mexican thank you, 'mucho bueno no english no english' and followed the crew into the church. Place gave him the heeby jeebies all the way to the core of his steamy taco meat, but he wasn't going to let on. Instead he gestured jovially and approached the altar before them.

"si senor! salsa good yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?"

He nodded enthusiastically and poured the contents of the goblet over his head. Wine flowed over his cheesy and vegetably exterior. Suitably sauced, the giant taco cast the goblet to the ground with an exaggerated motion. Suddenly the identity of their host became dreadfully clear - it was the ghost of Omi Barsait, a ruffian KB had killed at Latent. His inner catholic taco senses informed him that the young man must have once been an orphan choir boy at the church that was sexually abused, hence his tortured spirit lingered ominously.

Could practically hear that damning organ music blaring. Y'know that classic horror type one. BEER NEER NEER NEERN NOOOOOWN~ DOON DOON DOON DOOOOOOOOOOOON~

Striking a pose, the dashing del taco es spanio chuckled at the thought of Omi getting railed by an old lecher.

Throughout the car ride, Edward remained silent. He had spoken to Wigi on the way to their pick-up location, and had even greeted his teammates. But something changed in the cyborg as the vehicle cruised past Latent's city limits, his features screwing up into a look of pure focus. The detective looked straight ahead and stayed that way for hours. Even the incredibly bumpy ride couldn't stop that determined look.

Hours later, DARE made their way into the cathedral; the cyborg looked towards the opposite end of the room, his green-tinted goggles settling on their familiar 'guide.' A look of surprise, albeit momentary, flashed across his face. Previously, before the cyborg had settled on his best friend, a random cyborg, and a very special guest; the cyberpunk had plans to enter Heaven or Hell with Barsait and a few others. Mysteriously, the Artist had to cancel at the last minute, and apparently the man had had a rather good reason for doing so.

Instead of helping himself to some wine, the detective pulled back the sleeves of his zip-up hoodie, revealing a pair of metallic arms.

"The staff used the word 'guide' loosely, didn't they?" Edward asked Barsait, since no one else wanted to pose a question. "You're not our guide. You're our obstacle."

6King Haelstrom

The lord, Barsait chuckled with amusement at the taco costumed fighter. He had no idea who was inside, and so wasn't privy to the fact he & this fellow KB had met before. In an abandoned little Colosseum where they played theatrics until the gunman turned foodstuff had his fill. Clapping his hands at the display, he remarked in a friendly manner: "A riot! Nice costume there-"

While the cyborg he didn't know well seemed a bit anxious, eying the drink and letting their team leader handle the matter of parley -- it was then the fact Barsait knew some of these fellows began to make itself obvious.

This had originally been the warrior in red's team designation. That's right. He would have participated in this very team this exact year, hadn't things taken a turn for the unusual. A more energetic grin greeted his old comrade Wigi. Ah, another time and perhaps they'd just started bashing bone, clashing fists, striking blood. Another time..

However. The captain and the cyborg he did know rather well, knew better.

"You're not our guide. You're our obstacle."

CLAP

Barsait's cheery smile, rosy demeanor.. melted away instantly. As the building shook more violently, still his voice took on a mocking, humored, downright pleased tone. "Well, the message they sent wasn't a lie, exactly. I am your guide, gentlemen." His head tilted back, eyes roaming them, from the silly costumed fighter to the grim and serious Edward with exacting detail. "..though you're not mistaken either. I am your obstacle. Perhaps.. your final obstacle?"

Leaning over and grasping a golden goblet sitting at his right boot, Barsait also took a large gulp of what was likely the same wine -- eyes however, never blinking, never faltering. Staring.

"I admit. Initially, I was very reluctant. They twisted my hand, really. And the resources they had to do it.. the wealth "they" can apply, it might as well be infinite! Hah, and yet, that was initially, wasn't it? What was bemusement.." His left hand dropped the ornate goblet, causing it to crack and split open on the floor -- some of its liquid contents pouring outward. "Turned into an interest I could never ignore. This was it. The opportunity I've been seeking to apply myself fully. To reach the breaking point.."

Suddenly, Team DARE would notice a disturbing trend.. the stained glass decorating the cathedral began to shine. No, perhaps shine was the wrong term -- pulsate with such an intense light, it was utterly unnatural. One could feel it. The heat level in the large room had gone up over twenty degrees Fahrenheit in a mere few minutes.. what on earth had happened?

Sipping in air, Barsait barked: "HOW do you like it? My homeland. Perpetual nightfall we fill the void with artificial lights to. We do this not because of some perverse enjoyment of the dark though, nor to create a safe haven for creatures who would boil in the sun's splendor. We do it, because my ancestors committed a primary sin-" The rumbling stopped at last, in tune with his words. "And the light would purge us from this world were we careless. It cost me nothing short of a fortune to have you all accepted over our borders- to have safe asylum here myself- and of course.. to purchase the rights to open our great shelter surrounding Zine. TO~ LET.. THE SUN COME DOWN."

The cathedral was no longer a mere scenic detour. It was your team's salvation. Barsait had, through some remote means, arranged for a "hole" to be created in this nation's shelter to an unnatural focus of the sun's rays -- you were trapped. To just walk out into that would be suicide. Any assistance that could be provided.. would fare equally poor, for even the soil had grown brutally hot. The temperature within this stone cathedral was accelerating, growing hotter, hotter.. those cool alcoholic drinks, had begun to bubble here and there.

A sweat drop broke from Barsait's brow.

Perhaps, not from the heat however. For even with the glass around you beginning to uncomfortably "melt," unlikely to contain the overhead shine's apocalyptic wrath -- there was something darker birthed here.

Barsait's demeanor was growing wilder, hair on his skin standing up - fingers tensing and gripping constantly onto nothing at all.

"There.. lesser men would die in mere minutes to this. Still, it is within my capabilities to keep you lot breathing, provided you succeed. Fail to give me what I want, and I don't care if our ties are more pure than blood - you'll disappear. No one, not even the tournament committee, can help you now. Just me." His voice lost the carefree dandy vibe, taking on its true nature -- half ruggard breath, half growl. "And in exchange, you'll help me. I'll walk out'o this place today, evolved.. or not a one o'us will at all."

Then.. things finally snapped and twisted.

The world around you was about to distort.

His arms began to shake, gauntlets wrung up into human-hand-claws maniacally grasping trying to grasp for something - Omi breathing erratically as he murmured "Yes yes yes, let's achieve a better understanding.. that'll answer your questions. Yes.. yes.. yes.. yes, it's coming... let's rejoice, men..."

And then, your vision faded if only momentarily.

When it returned.. the world was quite wrong.

"THE!! RED HOUR."

Your skull pulsated. It did not "hurt," but you could not escape the bizarre feeling something had entered not your body.. but your very mind. Nor could it escape you that the air around you had turned a vivid shade of red, occasionally shaking as though some substance had filled it. The sun had its time to bare down; the cathedral's stone walls were beginning to heat horrifically, turning the interior into an oven -- and the glass.. it was warping. It wouldn't hold for long.

"BEEEEEeeegiiiiiinn" Barsait cackled out with the oddest mixture of elation and pain, forcing out his hands towards DARE as though they had torn his arms from their shoulder sockets. Perhaps they had.

At that moment, SHRK. SHRK. SHRK. SHRK. Glass burst open, horrifying rays of red-altered sunlight blasting into the room and outright scorching the wall and floors they came into contact with black. One such beam would nick [KB]'s rear costume edge..

Then each of these destroyed windows were "coated" with something that would block out the sun.

Perhaps you'd preferred the sun.

__________________________________________________

Six windows, three to the hall's left, three to the hall's right, spaced out about 10' between one another on their respective side -- were massive snake faces. The size of bulls, bulging out of the window sills, these horrifying abominations were both keeping the violent sun at bay-- and eying you menacingly. "TheEEHSSee are called MASKS. Should I deem you immobileeeefor too long, I'll let some'o THE SUN burst throughhh 'emmmm."

"Masks."

Then as though to add onto the terror of the situation, Omi clapped his hands - then scraped his own jaw line bloody. Now you could see it. His eyes.. all the white of them had turned a festered dark green, pupils a bloodshot red. Still, he grinned. You likely wouldn't.

For that ushered up a ridiculous amount of ghastly red snakes, filling half the cathedral in an instant as they whirled out of his backside and flesh -- rapping against one another. Again, you felt the pulsating in your brain. Somehow, you could tell.. you were "thinking" those snakes into being, though you couldn't grasp how or why.

When they finished their dance.. they had wrapped themselves into three distinct ... monsters.

"THEEESsssee are GOLEMS. Many snakes, MANY wrapped together INTO ONE BEING. They'll takekkek a more proactive touch with y'." SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH. Had they truly emitted that ear splitting cry, or was it something your own minds forged? You wouldn't much care; the three beasts stood with their arms crossed at 6'7'' between you and Barsait, entire bodies writhing in place and worming about.

"Golems."

"But~ It wouldn't be fair to jusstTT have it at this. No. I'd kill you and that'd be that and it wouldn't be..." Not finishing his sentence, at least coherently, Omi gazed into Edward's own eyes from a distance. And for a moment, Edward would see-- see Omi's eyes.. from inside of them, in turn gazing into Edward, who in turn saw from the perspective of Omi. It was outright sanity shattering.

"S' ONE LAST GUIDANCE-YOU simply need to reach this here, I'll call him the COIN. If you can do it befer' the building collapses.. you'LLewww WIN." Crunnccchhhhh, Omi nearly mangled his own right hand, forging.. a golden little gardener snake behind him, with an almost innocent looking expression on itself. Small, lethargic movements, it had no self-preservation in its guidance at all.

"Masks," "Golems," "Coin." The three terms that would guide your hellish new ordeal.

Barsait was quite finished idly chatting though, already drawing out his massive "Void Block" bar mace with a scowl. Escape was no longer an option, and it seemed appealing to your "guide's" good senses was.. also not a very probable route.

"BEEEGGGgggiiiiiIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN"

All..

Three..

Golems.. stared at the lot of you. They were Omi's horrid trademark serpents, but not actually intelligent ... were they?

It was time for DARE to fight. Not just to get good marks -- to survive.

[Note: check the first post to find updated victory, defeat, and other conditions. And good luck.]

7Better Than Gore

After all the time Omi Barsait had spent explaining, after everything that transpired within the Cathedral, Darren hadn't moved an inch from his current position. Not a single word slipped from his mouth, nor did his facial expression alter, the Cyborg's gaze dropped from the man standing before them, and onto the cup he currently held. Idly his hand began moving in a circular motion, stirring the crimson liquid, and then he brought up once more. Resting the rim of the cup on his bottom lip. Eyeing Omi very cautiously, he tipped the cup back, and polished off the remainder of the beverage. "People say there's a special place in Hell for those that waste fine wine," With a simple chuckle, Darren stepped forward, carefully placing the empty cup back atop the Altar.

"If this is the end of our Journey, might as well go out with a bang, are we in agreement?" This question was of course aimed at the Puppeteer. With that, his left arm rose, bringing his FIGHTER close enough so that he may use it properly. Touching a button or two, he'd begin typing away as quickly as his cybernetic hand would allow, delivering a message to the rest of his Team.

Code: Edward, as much as I know you'd like to take Omi on head first, I have a different strategy in mind. KB, and yourself have the most mobility out of the four of us. I think one of you should use that to our advantage. One of you go for the Snake, and the rest of us will take care of anything in your way. I'll let you be the Judge of who should go, and who should stay.

"How about some music, Omi?" Pressing another button on his FIGHTER a playlist made by the Drug Lord was brought up, and the first song began playing. Volume booming from the piece of technology, loud enough that the Cathedral could be mistaken as a Concert from the outside.

8Knight Breaker

BEEPITY BOOPITY BEEP!

KB looked at his wrist. It was obscured by taco suit. Someone was insta-massaging him though. Probably another one of those thousands of raging girls trying to get their hands on his delicious body. They all wanted to give his meat a saucy rubdown and grind on his hard shell.

"!!! old el paso mucho family fun!" he acknowledged, pushing around the altar towards one of the snake golem thingies. See, he could feel it in his mind after the blackout - they were in the zone. KB simply WAS a taco - and that meant that now Omi Barsait was like 5% taco as well. Being significantly more taco than Omi Barsait, KB felt no need to wait.

Besides, his butt was still kind of fire from the infernal beam that had clipped his backside. Downcast sombrero rim obscured his features badasslike as he summoned his taco energies. In a flash, the rim of the sombrero flickered with magic. KB started spinning his head around in small circles as he charged at the golem, mustering up more super taco power.

"AAAAAIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YEAAAAAAAAAAH!"

9King Haelstrom

Golem C

Golem C watched the charging taco. It gargled and growled.. it was hunched over on all fours, eying KB with .. well, it was hard telling how it "felt" or if it did, such a vacant gaze.

However, the charging taco would likely not expect the response given. This golem did not rush to meet him. It calmly walked backwards, step by step.. and its head stretched outward, snakes maneuvering out of the upper torso to "size up" the head to massive proportions.

The head was now larger than a massive bear, its "jaw" lowered -- and Omi bit down to signal it erupting. That entire mouth lit aflame-- intending to engulf the taco if it didn't halt its charge. "GWAM GWAMMGGA GWAMMGWAMM" Stretch-o-Head.

If KB wasn't reactive.. well, at least DARE would have a final meal. Burnt taco.

[Omi Barsait]

Barsait smiled curtly. Something was pleasing him.

"Oh~ Edward, as much as I know you'd like to take Omi on head first, I have a different strategy.." The man bellowed out loudly, now outright making fun of Darren and his efforts. Such.. exact words though. Now that was worrisome. Maybe, unlikely though it was, the red baron was just very lucky. Very, very lucky.

"KB, and yourself have the most mobility out of the four of us.." Alright. That shot that theory out the window. How had he intercepted the message..?

1.] Darren's fingertips touched the buttons on the FIGHTER.

2.] Darren consciously thought up his message.

3.] His comrades had to look at their FIGHTER devices and read the messages.

Even if KB was too busy roleplaying a festive treat, the likelihood of Edward or Wigi checking for their comrade's message was quite high-- making it even easier and quicker for Barsait to intercept the message in real time. Of course, it was possible they'd abandon such a plan.. but why take the chance!

Barsait crossed his arms, [Void Block] menacingly touching the ground. If DARE watched carefully, perhaps they'd notice .. something amiss with the man in red's skin. It was moving.. no doubt - moving but to what purpose? What on earth had he done with his body?

____________________________________

Golem A & Golem B.

Golem A, thin and spry along with Golem B, masculine and wide -- clasped

"hands." Then shoulders. Then elbows and knees, hips and waists.

They had melded together. A two headed, massive snake abomination.

"GoGO~GO" Barsait barked, and the entity Golem AB heeded such a command -- sprouting out a hornet's nest of small serpents from its combined body. The two-headed "ogre" of serpents fired them backwards behind the altar Barsait stood before.. into something. You could hear it, a tell-tale "hissssssss."

It had dipped its "tendrils" .. into a small well of boiling, evaporating water.

[HYDROGEN MODIFICATION]

The entire two-headed "ogre" lit up in blue flames, maneuvering its limbs with surprising speed - though the heat.. was unbearable. The floor beneath this creature was already gone. Then.. it began to charge, both heads screaming maniacally, arms outstretched at a span of 10' -- going straight for Edward. All the while, Barsait mumbling to himself in the back, the golden "Coin" idly writhing in place.

It was time.

Only one super secret hidden technique would bring success in this desperate hour. Omi would doubtlessly had prepared for it, thus, KB would do something absolutely different. At least, that would be the smart choice. The taco however planned to do exactly what Omi had countered for. Then again, Omi likely would have expected him to double back to the original plan and prepared for that.

Good thing KB didn't really think about s**t too much, because that would buy Snake Man time to rouse up some kind of insidious plot. Instead the giant taco relied on finely honed mexican instincts. As the giant snake head opened up to breathe fire out like some kind of weird dragon, KB essentially dove into it enveloped in negative energy. The flamethrower effect could be roughly interpreted as a ranged attack, hence, it would be buffered by the shield. Once he was inside though ( and he totally did jump right in there like a boss ) that would be a different story. Then he'd have to rely entirely on the epic power of taco to survive.

PSHWWWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

From the taco erupted a spike of metal, just like when you go to Quiznos and get a nail or a screw in your sandwich. This wasn't just any rusty tetanus baring spike though, this was a magic AIDS-carrying knife of doooom! It mustered three charges worth of undead power at the fist shaped end and unleashed it as the motion continued. The Damning Dash ended with a flawless transition to a x3 Magus shot!

Sufficient in power to blow the giant taco right out the back of the golem, KB suspected. Diving into the monster's mouth and blowing out its a*****e like a real cheap taco. Yes, this was clearly the sort of tactic only a foodstuff could properly grasp. Usually the eater and not the eatee, KB was finding this point of view quite refreshing.

If he managed all that he'd end up standing on the other side of the blown-out golem pretty much on fire. A scary sight to behold, that giant taco wreathed in flame. Everything in the cathedral was red, red red red. From the embers on the suit to the fire dancing on the sombrero to everything in the temple itself. ******, there was probably even lava moats forming in the most sunken parts of the cathedral or some st. It was the end of the world - or at least the end of the musty shithole in Zine. KB would obviously be happy to see another holy place go down. Omi with it if luck was in their favor, but disposing the madman was another matter entirely.

11King Haelstrom

- Destroyed!

"GWARHGGGGGGG" Golem C screamed, snake after snake exploding as it fell apart into a writhing mass of red & flames. Surprisingly, the taco-adorned KB had actually made a successful attack, annihilating the four-legged beast with one brave charge. What could this have meant though, if Barsait did indeed have clairvoyance? Was he not able to predict KB's actions, or was he simply unable to stop them?

Still, the vampire was far closer to Barsait then the rest. Just one more push, and he could reach the [COIN]! No?

The only issue: Lord Barsait himself was standing patiently. Still, could he prevent a majestic dash like that last?

"Haaaaaawwwwwww" The man began to bellow, voice not faltering nor dropping an octave as its pitch carried throughout the church-- Omi's hands wildly clawing at air criss-crossing in every fashion imaginable over the image of his costumed foe. "wwWWAAAAUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!"

For he had spawned countless serpents before, could he do so again - with little distance to cover in order to reach the vampire, literally thousands of serpents wrapped the costume from head to kneecap tight like a cocoon, Barsait becoming the bud of a monstrous snake-formed plant. Each sunk their teeth into gaps where the costume had burned, or into chunks of the costume itself, or bore beneath the costume, or when space had been occupied, bit into themselves -- wrapping KB in a ball of terrible fates.

"No no no, impressive but it's not time yet to end this dance. Still, I admire your raw power, creature." Barsait sputtered, likely towards KB. "Myes, yes I do enjoy you, my new orrorrorrgans. Come. Let's attempt human evolution.."

Barsait's left index finger jabbed up as tall as his arm could stretch, his wild eyes baring down to the non-ensnared team of KB.

"All'o you BECOME! BECOME HEIGHTENED HUMANITY."

[Chapter II. Growing Pains.]

The enamel coating that teeth-baring "grin" of Omi's, it turned.. dark.. something not bone, no. Something more fearsome. The man's body suddenly grew- like it had been pumped full of some horrid substance in one second, then more of it the next, height and weight along with muscle mass expanding with each passing breath. That metal armor coating his torso, the chain-links tore open and gave way before his flesh could do the same.

[Obsidian Tooth, Ogre's Strength, Battle Scarred, Excessive Strength, Gene Therapy]

Both of the man's eyes, his shoulders now level with Dare's fighters, ripped themselves apart then began to bite at one another to grow anew - left now pulsing an off-yellow, right forming bizarre lined and what could only be guessed faintly at as.. scars? But with such elaborate patterns in the green mass..

[Lifesense, Synthetic Eye]

Blood pumped throughout the man's body at an absurd pace, chest pulsing quicker and quicker as he breathed perhaps three to four times in a moment's notice -- jaw elongating, dropping, unhinging.. then doing something worse, those dark teeth gaining refined edges and segmenting into things worse, worse than fangs! His heart must have been beating at a pace unimaginable, for now he stood at 7'3", weighing no less than 260 lbs of horrific and unnatural muscle along with other flesh-like mass strewing about and "changing" him.

[Improved Heart and Lungs, Ghoul Maw]

Then, the "man" standing in tatters of his own ripped skin, clothing, and armor calmly dropped the now miniscule mace, a disturbing calm in his face's new features as a sound breathed out from between his lips that sounded ominously condescending: "Nyyyrrrrriiiiiiii..."

STOMP. Omi plowed through his own serpentine entanglement, foot caving in the floor below him.

STOMP. He approached the ensnared KB.

STOMP. Mere steps brought him so dangerously close.

"NnyyyyyYYYYYYRRRIIIIIIIIII~~~!!!!!!!!!!!"

With all the form of a heavyweight boxer's Sunday punch, Barsait's muscles practically exploded with the strain of launching an outright missile - fist smashing into the taco and sending the vampire careening out of his own snakes who were outright destroyed from mere contact. KB would fly high into the air, approaching the rafters..

..then.

Three of the masks, two on the right side and one on the left, criss-cross vomited solar flares onto the poor taco mid-air, the light of which saturated all color in the cathedral for a brief time 'til they sealed their maws once more -- allowing the taco to fall back where he had started before charging [Golem C]. Decidedly more.. crispy, perhaps, since the brave taco suit was now bubbling plastic.

More concerning of course, was Lord Barsait beginning to take small, measured steps towards the Team - eyes boring into them calmly with yet another sound of "Nyyyrriiiii..." exiting his throat. Each of those steps of course, broke the hyper-heated floors wide open, not that it bothered him much.

The [Coin] absent mindedly writhed in its little corner behind the altar.

12Just Naota

The heat began to rise in the Cathedral.

********, the cyborg should have expected as much. Omi Barsait didn't do simple fights, especially not in his homeland - the seat of his strange power.

Stuck in place, Edward debated whether or not to keep his hooded sweatshirt on. It was typically hot enough with said get-up and the hidden vest of artificial spider-silk that he hid underneath. With the "thermostat" so high, Edward could potentially suffocate under such heat with a jacket on, but eventually he decided to keep the article on. For now, it would protect his skin - or what was left of it - and if it caught fire then it could finally be shrugged off and used as a layer of armor.

It also hid a few of his weapons rather well.

Though, that hardly mattered now. The detective felt his mind invaded, a feeling so foreign to him for so many years. Even with a world full of psychics and telepaths who had attempted on various occasions to gain access to Edward's mind, and to make sense of his electronic babbling. The majority of them departed defeated, bleeding out of ears and noses, some split their molars (and even burst blood vessels in their eyes) straining in order to comprehend a mind that moved at computerized speeds. And those who could typically couldn't understand the coded language of machines anyway.

Here in Zine, however, the cyberpunk's brain had been beat, and the tactical edge he held over most was simply gone. Barsait had access to it all.

The intrusion had left the cyborg dismayed.

But certainly not defeated.

The cyberpunk tensed up, watching the events unfold before him. The truth of Barsait's intrusion, the change in the man that Edward believed he knew so well, the terrifying fusion of the golems, and lastly its terrible and powerful charge. In the direction, of course, of Edward himself.

Cringing momentarily at the sound of the creature's shriek, Edward burst into action. Surely, he thought of his options, had weighed them carefully. There was typically some effort of thought into any one action, albeit however minute. And the cyborg was no different. Hence, the Artist would know exactly what Edward was up to.

But it hardly mattered.

Edward wasn't planning anything elaborate, he didn't have anything brilliant up his sleeve. At least not yet anyways. He didn't possess a large assortment of gadgets that could aid him in the situation; he entered Heaven of Hell with a limited amount of weapons and equipment. He did have one thing though, as did his comrades. They had the ability to advance forward and attack viciously. Meet overwhelming force with overwhelming force.

It was exactly what Ed wanted to do.

And it didn't matter that Omi knew. It wouldn't have required a powerful telepathy to understand what was going to happen, as DARE would charge on him. The Artist only needed sight.

Here in Zine, where Omi Barsait stood at his strongest, Edward proceeded with the most overt plan of attack possible, essentially denying the fiery snake-wielder the opportunity of foiling their most elaborate of strategies. The plan of attack had become to simple; the cyberpunk's mind focused on one singular thing. Move forward.

However, how he'd do so differed from the manner most would.

As the two-headed golem approached, the cyberpunk fired his grapple-hook skyward. The wire lashed out like a striking cobra, clamping down on one edge of the cathedral's intricate architecture, and propelled the heavy cyborg upwards in a slanted direction. Edward left the two-headed beast behind, allowing the golem to plow right through where he had been standing. Sadly, that also entailed leaving two of his teammates behind with the awful creature.

But someone had to get to Omi, and to KB apparently.

The cyborg watched the battle from above. Staring in awe and horror as Barsait himself transformed into a behemoth of man, and struck the vampire into the air after the leech's seemingly smart plan of attack had backfired. For a mere moment, extremely mere, the cyborg considered allowing their eliminator to destroy the vampire. It would certainly be a thorn in his benefactor's side, watching her appointment to the team be vanquished. But something held that train of thought back, preventing the detective from giving it much thought, and allowing another prominent thought-train to take its place. This one was much more urgent.

A teammate was in danger and needed help. So, just as the masks began firing their sun-beams, Edward sprung into dangerous, and oddly heroic action.

Abruptly, Edward halted the pull with a thought and twisted his body around powerfully, transitioning (from an upward pull) seamlessly into a speedy swing. His left arm transforming the entire time.

From Batman to Spiderman and then some.

Unfortunately, the solar flares would still strike KB, though only for the briefest of briefest of moments as Edward careened in from Taco-KB's flank. Flying in feet-first, the detective would violently kick the airborne vampire out of the way, coming into harm from the heat himself, but quickly putting something (a whole lot less human) else in the way.

Edward's shield took the solar flares head-on, burning up quite a bit but remaining quite stable throughout the ordeal. Unfortunately for enemies', however (or fortunately considering he didn't wholly understand this new Omi), the chrome-plating on the large shield did more than just block Omi's attack. The chrome reflected the powerful sunlight back, and the way it was angled... Barsait was about to have a taste of his own medicine as Edward rained fire and brimstone from above.

Hopefully, the Artist's flesh still burned.

13Zeo Hiroboshi

This s**t was starting to get uncomfortable real quick.

Well... not the s**t going on with Omi. Weird and as unsettling as it was, when the heat started to hit Wigi's skin began to crawl with a festering urge to claw away from the sensation by any means necessary. After all, when someone wrestles down fire incarnate like he did last round they don't recover fully on a mental level in a matter of days or even weeks. Still, Wigi had enough grip on his senses, and the situation, not to risk such a thing. He and his team were putting their lives on the line right now, and nothing but barreling forward was going to keep them alive and in one piece.

However, the sensation of the Red Hour overwhelmed him for a moment, causing him to pause for a time as the scene played out before him. It was all surreal, Omi's control over this place in time, it was enough to leave the ogre awestruck enough to miss the beeps coming from his FIGHTER. He hadn't been in the right mind in the first place, even minus the burning. Peering into the ogre's mind might've felt much like peering into an odd cacophony of phrases and habits, nervous tics edging to constantly be compelled. A soft, lucid voice might be heard whispering sweet, passionate nothings, constantly calling to Wigi like a long lost lover, begging him to come home to his true place in Arcadia. A yearning for a stroll through the hedge was also prevalent, much like a druggie needing its next fix. He'd been away for far too long, his lashing from the last fight keeping him tied to the burn ward for the foreseeable future, at least until this fight.

That, however, wasn't the strongest thought he had in mind...

An old, cracked Ouija board floated about like a constant pressure, a loving obsession brimming with the odd glow of comfort and warmth, yet always out of reach. Babbling, incoherent words seemed to pour forth from its essence like a symphony of softly spoken chaos wound into a tight bundle, edging to be free.

Wigi seemed to snap out of his daze in seconds, long enough for Taco Man to pull off his stunt and for golems A and B to Voltron into ABs. With this new monstrosity rushing forward it was hard not to focus on the immediate threat over the sounds of the background. So as that ugly b*****d flickered his attention towards Edward the ogre sprung himself into action, allowing the adrenaline of the moment and the rush of conflict to wash away his fears of once more being burned.

He retreated a few steps and snapped his hands out at the closest object he could find as the goblet atop his head came crashing and clattering in uneven patterns against the smooth, tiled floor. Wrapping his fingers around the pedestal he'd heft the newfound projectile up, snapping off the top only if it was bolted or attached to the ground, before chunking it directly at the rushing monstrosity's knees. It'd take a grunt of effort, but it was a relatively small feat for the changeling whose only true power was sheer brute force.

He was hoping to knock Voltron down, or at the very least slow it down long enough for Edward to react and to buy himself enough time to make his way towards the nearest wall. After all, if this thing reacted to threats like some sort of basic creature then Wigi might've just drawn himself to the top of its list. Given how little he knew of this thing it might not have been a bad idea to get some distance and to get himself properly armed.

His bat and knife were good, but he felt a bit more at home ripping off a set of brittle claymores from the wall. Wigi was a pit fighter after all, at least in the past, and it seemed like it'd be a shame not to put the ornaments to use. Whether they were any good or not didn't really seem to matter much to the changeling as raw excitement seemed to play across his oddly crossed eyes as a wretched smile creeped upon his lips.

No matter how he tried to escape it, no matter how he tried to bury the past over in the folds of a new life, Wigi was at heart an entertainer whose very life was forfeit in a gambit for new found cheers.

Turning to face Voltron once more he'd ready his throwing arm if he had enough time. Capable or not two claymores at the same time was rather unnecessary. Either way he'd get a gauge on his enemy and ready himself for the moments to come.

14Better Than Gore

Clever.

Omi Barsait was capable of reading Darren's mind, somehow. Through said mind reading he could predict everything. Could he see through the bullshit though? That was the million dollar question, and the Cyborg was surely going to figure out the answer. One way, or another. Taking a deep breath, the Drug Lord put himself at ease, clearing his mind as best he could. Getting rid of all the doubt, pressure, and even fear. Planning definitely wasn't going to make this situation any easier, it was up to everyone on his Team to act for themselves, and hopefully not think ahead of time. For Barsait would see it coming almost immediately.

As the Golem's grew closer, Darren side stepped, multiple times. Creating a gap between his Team, and himself. Mostly getting out of the way of Edward, and Wiji. But once Ed decided on suddenly transforming into that of a bad a**, the Cyborg instinctively drew his cybernetic arm back, pushing it forward with tremendous force shortly after. Snatching up the weapon that was stationed next to him in mid-swing. Once the arm came to a 'snapping' motion, the metal hand opened, and released the object it held. In this case? Darren's sledgehammer. He aimed to literally boom-a-rang this massive weapon into the side of Omi's forward leg. The metal shaft of the weapon, add in the force of the throw due to how strong Darren's arm was, and you had one leg. If everything went as planned, the shaft of the weapon would collide with the leg, hopefully breaking it. This wasn't very likely though, just a hope.

Darren would then begin moving forward, not slowly, but breaking into a full sprint. With Omi on the hunt for Ed, and KB, it was quite possible that he wouldn't be able to react to the Cyborg very quickly. Which left that 'Coin' up for grabs. Usain Bolt be damned, Darren was absurdly faster than the Olympic Sprinter, maxing out at 30mph. To top it all off, while he was running, the only thing that came to mind was breasts. Lots, and lots of breasts. And randomly turtles. Turtles, AND breasts.

15Knight Breaker

Being caught up by like a bajillion snakes was pretty shitty. Yes, it was a st taco situation. While other people sat around handling their hammers and thinking about ninja turtle titties the real men ( and foodstuffs ) were doing work. Doing work and hoping they wouldn't be assraped for their troubles. As crimson snakes poked and prodded seemingly everywhere KB clamped his buttcheeks shut. No good in giving the phallic creatures an easy way to impale him, punching up through his a***e to his heart! Thankfully his position in the cocoon didn't last very long before Omi himself intervened.

Taco KB missed the transformation itself, but got a glimpse of the aftermath as he sailed away from the MISSILE FIST. Omi wasn't really Omi anymore, but instead some kind of huge monster. A monster that hadn't lost the ability to control the scenery unfortunately. The MASKS turned and KB considered his goose cooked, but then Ed came and saved the day with a swinging kick! This sent the vampire smashing into a nearby wall and tumbling to the ground.

Landing on his hands and knees, he sputtered blood as the taco suit fell off in smoldering or flaming pieces. The snakes had done quite a number to the costume and left burn marks all across his business suit, which he'd worn under it. More than that his chest was noticeably caved in which was... impeding recovery.

"Thanks Ada." He muttered to himself, the power of taco waning. The real world was rapidly closing in to fill the gaps left by the taco suit, both in vision and purpose. Needless to say it was extremely disappointing, and the vampire looked exasperated when he turned his attention to the Coin.

Feeling the invasive power of the red hour the cunning ex-taco set about using Omi's own subconscious against him. He stared intently at the idle Gardener Snake, willing it to respond. "Go to Darren." He ordered quietly, fighting to stand on one knee. "Go. To. Darren." The little snake turned to look at him, and he smiled. "Yeah! That gay looking one in the middle!" Pointing, the vampire singled Darren out to make it clear. Then the little snake languidly turned and looked away, apparently interested in something else.

[Omi Barsait]

Were you given a book to glimpse the future, how proficient would you be at it if you could only gander through the pages a selective chunk at a time? The more minds put to it though, were they to work together, the more "chunks" could be deciphered and interwoven. Still, there were certainly limits.. unless, one of those delicious brains in the mix happened to be very powerful, capable of shouldering more of the load than the others. Indeed, we had in the mix, DARE's worst enemy - just such a brain, further enabling the red baron's horrific mind network.

Edward's.

Cyber-Brain Wrote:

[Brain Case/Cyber-Brain] Over 97% of the detective’s organic brain has been replaced by a fast-processing computer with wi-fi capabilities and EM-shielding, and covered and protected by a case that has a dual-layer of ceramics and tungsten-steel alloy. This miniature supercomputer regulates all of Ed’s bodily functions, interfaces perfectly with his neuro-structure and the other implants found throughout his body, and processes it all (including cognitive information) at electronic speeds which by far surpass that of a normal human brain. It decreases the time in which information is processed, hence allowing Edward an increased reaction time, beating normal humans in this aspect by a 100%. This puts the cyborg on par with even some of the faster supernaturals Gaia has to offer. However, no matter how fast his brain moves, his body still has to follow suit and sadly his body doesn't boast the speeds of a supercomputer. He can also answer some really tough math problems in a matter of seconds.

Note: The cyber-brain doesn’t give Ed a sixth sense of any sort. He can also be knocked out cold.

"Hooaaah no.." Barsait murmured in his titanic form, easily identifying false pretenses from meaningful plans. Even short term, they had patterns; even if you tried to randomize your thoughts, somewhere in there did you label a few folly.

Still, troublesome. They were being wise.. he hadn't foreseen saving KB, likely due to it being a last second decision of Edward's. That, and the blitzkrieg tactic Darren instigated, Wigi attempting to knock the AB Golem out of commission while the [Coin] floundered -- all.. respectable.

Of course, even without the menacing [Red Hour] in play, Barsait was outright famed for his last second displays of strategic horror. Even in his less than reposed form, throw in the resources at hand..

DARE had been careless. As the air grew heavy with absurd amounts of heat, no doubt every fighter capable sweating enough to weigh -- so began the waltz of dismay.

"NNRAYYYYHHHHHHYYYYUAAAAAAA" The two-headed ogre screamed as the single headed changeling bashed it backwards... however, Wigi had unwittingly aided his adversary. The creature suddenly flew backwards at an absurd speed, flames screaming through the air; this was after all, essentially Barsait's hidden ace the Hydra version of the art. Creating rapid traveling, screaming super-flamed monsters that could soar at breakneck speed, an entire being comprised of them would no doubt sing back to their owner back-first with ease.

It's mid-torso was bombarded by Edward's hopeful sunblast bombardment, burrowing a massive hole in the center where destroyed serpents had once existed -- otherwise.. conveniently absorbing the attack for its owner at just the nick'o'time.

The red titan only then gazed downward at the oncoming Darren. "Hm..?"

CRASH

The sledgehammer of Darren's powerful cybernetic strength did indeed collide with Barsait's limb, smashing it powerfully. One could hear bone, the vast amount that now existed, cracking..

...along with Darren's shoulders being calmly seized in both of the man's horrific hands.

Consume Wrote:

KB bites a chunk of flesh from his enemy, dealing concentrated Blood Drain damage, and leaving a gaping wound. This attack heals him moderately. [The amount eaten is the amount healed] Cooldown: 4 posts.

Simultaneously lifting the cyborg up off his feet, Barsait's deformed head had lowered - jaw filled with serrated Obsidian Fangs wildly chomping into the cyborg's flesh & blood shoulder.

Quote:** Wrote:

[Undead]

KB does not eat, drink, sleep, or breathe. He only has a muted tactile sense of the world and thus does not appreciate pain. As an undead being his only vital organ is his heart - the others are rotten and vestigal. His body is powered by Negative Energy and does not rely on the typical living means of locomotion. His body can still suffer the effects of structural damage.

Ex: He does not need intact tendons to move his arm, but if the arm bone is broken it will inhibit his ability to use the limb.

Additionally, his flesh is more resilient to damage than that of a normal living person. His skin is the equivalent of treated leather armor. His bones are similarly more durable, more like steel than bone.

Note: Silver weapons and magic attacks bypass these defensive properties, treating his flesh like regular meat. ( Being Undead also confers a 25% resistance to Electricity, Cold, and Poison )

Darren's flesh arm would remain by a mere dangling strand of bone & sinew -- the rest gulped down the bloodthirsty baron's throat and, thanks to the absurd synergy of a living organism and the strength of the undead.. speeding up the mending of that cracked bone in his leg exceedingly well.

Of course..

..were that the only problem, as the golem abomination was literally colliding with Barsait, Darren in the middle of an immolation sandwich. No doubt, the cyborg was strong!.. however, as Barsait began a powerful sideways stride shoulder-first towards Edward, muttering loudly "NyyrrririrriRIRIRIIIIIIII" -- one would notice he was taking Darren (and by extension the "golem") along like a rag-doll.

Quote:** Wrote:

Ogre's Strength: Life in Arcadia is rough for changelings. Pit fighters, in particular, were infused with various forms of glamour which focused on developing the physical form beyond that of normal human limitations. These fighters were often large in body and capable of incredible feats of strength, such as wielding two-handed weapons in one hand or lifting weights comparable to half a ton overhead with some effort. Ogres, as they have been deemed, have been known for their incredible grip and physical prowess, said to be capable of even scaling icy mountainsides without any climbing equipment. Such things were needed as they challenged each other and the fae themselves in the constant stride for freedom.

[Excessive Strength]

As a vampire, KB's primary attribute is sheer strength. He is many times stronger than a human being, able to lift and move ( slowly ) with up to 1000lbs in his hands. In spite of his amazing strength, his power is proportionate to his humanoid form, so there are limits to what he can do. ( He couldn't lift 1000lbs at arms length and hold it there, for example ). This physical power lends itself to his strikes as well, making him able to dent conventional metal armor with direct hits, or punch through unprotected flesh completely.

..having an ogre's strength multiplied by a vampire's tends to do that. To give an apt comparison -- Darren to Barsait at this moment, was like a three year old little girl to a drugged out viking.

A poor little girl at that, seeing as the hydrogen mass collided straight into Barsait -- flattening thousands of writhing snakes and creating an eerie shade of blue within the fields of red -- bombarding Darren with horrific flames. At least his massive gaping wound wouldn't be bleeding much! .. it would get cooked shut at this rate.

Again those eerie eyes bore into the cyborg Edward's -- charge, charge charge..

DARE could see the [Coin] -- could they reach it?

And with good health not to mention sanity becoming a rare commodity in this fine holy place -- who would survive?

17Better Than Gore

Unexpected.

That was the only word that accurately described the situation Darren was currently in; though, not only was it unexpected, it was also very, very, excruciating. Never before had the Cyborg experienced such a high amount of sheer pain. Normally, someone that basically just had their arm removed would rely on his survival instinct, and retreat. Not Darren, that thought hadn't crossed his mind once, what rattled around in his head was blood lust. Adrenaline immediately began coursing, which instantly numbed the feeling in his nearly dismembered arm, the fact that it bled profusely wouldn't be altered though, unfortunately. Scratch that. Barsait's golem also collided with the Cyborg as well, squishing the man between the monstrosity that was Omi Barsait, and his fiery creation. Setting the man ablaze almost spontaneously, and that fire eventually met his fresh wound. Cauterizing it without warning, forcing a utterly disgusted facial expression across the Cyborg's face, the smell of his flesh literally cooking nauseated the man beyond belief. On top of the smell of burning flesh, the Drug Lord would also catch a hint of hair, burning hair. Despite the horrendous scent, Darren was in trouble, and he needed out as soon as possible.

Getting out would be far harder than Darren realized; however, before he was completely devoured by the Golem's torso he arched his back. Bending forward as he was being absorbed, assuming Barsait had complete control over the Cyborg's robotic limb, he still had the freedom of using the lower half of his body. Which he'd utilize right about now! Once the bend had been completed, Darren yanked his body backward, as if he was laying on his back, which only further forced him into the belly of the Beast. This, however, made the only thing he could do completely possible. Tucking in each leg, the Cyborg would push them outward, aiming for Omi's chest. Seeing as the two of them were so close, the Abomination in front of him would more than likely feel both cybernetic feet literally crush his abdomen.

Code: Robotic Legs: Each leg is exactly the same as his right arm, but in the shape of legs, of course. Made from the same material, and able to move exactly how a normal leg would move. Attached at the thigh. These produce a speed bonus proportional to how much stronger than human limbs they are. Capable of maxing out at 30 miles per hour in speed, and never tire. If Darren were to kick someone with one of these cybernetic legs, it would produce 6,000 PSI, which can easily knock someone onto the ground depending where on the body the hit is delivered.

Not only would Barsait hopefully be knocked down, Darren would also hopefully be shot through the stomach of the Golem by sheer force, ending up on the ground behind the creature.

"Better hope I don't live through this encounter you ********, because if I do, I'm going to visit that pretty wife of yours."

Not if I visit her first. Chump.

P.S. Omi like copious amounts of dk and has a bear/snake fetish. It's his critical (albeit disturbing) weakness. GIVE HIM YOUR dk AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE SALVATION.

This was a live, televised event after all. Of course, Omi would be privy to the text message as well through the Red Hour once Darren actually read it, which meant that he would know who to kill later. Not that Moonblade really cared; the pair had spent every interaction together deliberately antagonizing one other. Though DARE had eliminated his team, the homunculus sincerely wished to see Barsait defeated and humiliated in his own homeland.

Naturally though, Moonblade wouldn't ACTUALLY send any useful information and was instead more liable to distract Darren from his match.

[Omi Barsait]

Though the damage to his abdomen was more trite than Darren may have hoped, overall the tactic was successful. The cyborg would find himself blown out the other side of the "golem," even as it enveloped Barsait himself creating a snake-coat exterior of hydrogen flames. A limb, hair, and agony forever -- but alive, Darren had pulled ahead nicely.

Barsait began to growl, preparing his next horrific assault.. when something happened.

The worst "something" imaginable.

Not if I visit her first. Chump.

P.S. Omi like copious amounts of dk and has a bear/snake fetish. It's his critical (albeit disturbing) weakness. GIVE HIM YOUR dk AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE SALVATION.

Of particular note: the range of [THE RED HOUR] was finite. It could not extend, for it was already quite massive -- unless.. special circumstances transpired.

Communication through a physical medium from long distance allowed the "field" to extend specifically to the end points of said communication. While the end path was far more limited in range.. the fact remained telephone calls, radio communications.. even text messages could carry this signal seed out.

Success.

Edward grinned fiercely through a pained expression as he whispered that word. The cyberpunk had succeeded. Not entirely in the manner that he would have preferred, but the battlefield never concerned itself with things as trivial as preference. Battle was cold, dark, and mean. It was unrelenting and sad. It didn't care for excuses. But most importantly, battle was an incredibly dangerous series of violent giving and taking.

Sure, the cyborg had foiled the Artist's solar flare attack, and had saved KB (regrettably so) from what looked like a gruesome death. He even turned Barsait's attack back on the Eliminator himself. But as he took, Edward would certainly have to give, and he had given quite a bit. In the small moment where there had been no shield to save him, the cyberpunk had taken his fair share of burns. His clothes caught fire in a couple of areas, burning the clothes partially away (albeit he remained decent throughout the whole ordeal) and burning the skin or heating the metal underneath. The hot air, especially with the advent of the solar flare, increased in temperature significantly around the detective, making it impossible to breath and even managed to take his vision away momentarily. It also managed to burn the exposed skin of Edward's face and neck, leaving a deep, wet-looking burn across the left side of the cyberpunk's face and neck (including a part of his lips and nose).

Thankfully, Edward's goggles had done their part in protecting his eyes from the blaze.

As Edward's Tarzan swing ended, the cyborg reached out with his left hand, and grabbed the first bit of grabbable wall/ceiling that was available. Luckily, the intricate architecture of the Cathedral's high ceilings afforded him many small handholds. The strong grip of his cybernetic limb was more than enough to keep him suspended.

The detective breathed deeply, reeling in his grapple hook and quickly patting out any of the flames that had persisted through the fast swing. That had been exceedingly risky, more so than the logical cyborg could have expected from himself, and for the sake of a filthy monster. Edward shook his head, throwing those thoughts into a mental shoebox and keeping them there. The was an internal discussion he would have to have later. One that he needed to have later. There were more pressing matters.

Edward looked down to the Cathedral floor, and quickly spotted KB. Burnt to hell and back, but okay. He found Wigi as well, still sporting bandages from the previous fight, but by far the least injured of the four. Finally, his goggle-glad eyes settled on Darren, and his eyes widened (though not apparently) in horror from behind those green-tinted lenses. The other cyborg had been crushed between Barsait's stolen bulk, and the two-headed golem. The end result of which left Darren on the ground sans an arm, and the two enemies fused into one.

A hard look came over the detective's features, and immediately he launched his grapple hook towards the ceiling once more. The cyborg pushed off the wall, falling into an even faster swing than before. Edward's course was obvious and direct, aiming to plow (sneakers first) into the fiery Barsait. His three hundred pounds of man and machine, and the velocity of the swing more than enough to knock Barsait off his feet or at the very least off-balance. Undoubtedly, the Eliminator would see the attack coming from a far, as the pair of combatants had shared more than one look during their clash.

Edward wanted that. He wanted the Eliminator's attention, and based on his actions. He was certainly forcing Barsait's attention.

22Zeo Hiroboshi

Attention, everyone seemed to want it in some way or another. While the little stunt with the Voltron monster flying back perplexed Weej a bit, it didn't slow him down. All this chaos was a welcome cry home for the ogre. He'd draw forward and close the gap for a few feet, continuing even as Darren got painfully dismembered. He didn't have any personal loyalty for the guy, feeling little sympathy for the injury, but he did have a sense of duty to keep the guy alive. After all without him the team would be a man down and from what he'd seen from Darren so far he was a respectable fighter. That paired with Edward's willing endorsement of him being on the team was enough to make him truly a part of the group.

As he burst out from the golem mass Wigi, fueled by the chaos and adrenaline of the moment, would hurl a brittle claymore directly into the monstrosity's center mass. Whether it connected or not didn't seem to concern the changeling too much as he'd swiftly charge forward past the scene, closing in on the Alter.

His motive was pretty clear. If Omi was going to focus on everyone else, the changeling would focus on the Coin. If left undisturbed he'd close the final few feet needed and activate his Obsidian Tooth, biting down into the gardener snake and ripping it apart.

Whether or not it was really going to be that easy was another thing. Wigi was going to make a full-on dash for the thing, and while he wasn't the fastest in the group, he wasn't impossibly slow either. All the same he'd keep an eyes out for any surprises that might come his way.

23Better Than Gore

Thud, thud, thud.

Darren was alerted by the sound of running, a monstrous being running at that, and his paranoia was put at ease upon looking over his shoulder. Wiji... Wiji was on the move, there was nothing keeping him at bay, so the Ogre was unoccupied for the time being. Why not spend said time in a way that would benefit them? Going for the Coin was definitely the best choice at the moment, seeing as Edward was busy swinging about, and KB was doing... Darren actually had no clue what the Vampire was currently doing, and or where he actually was. That wasn't important right now; however, getting off the ground was, so that's exactly what the Cyborg did. Picking himself up off the ground as quickly as he possibly could, Darren would take a quick note of his surrounding, and immediately began looking for his dismembered arm.

Something told him that he had a very important text waiting, and that something was a very obnoxious ring-tone.

!

There it was, just a few feet away from the Cyborg, thing was... Omi, and the Golem were too close for comfort. This definitely wouldn't stop Darren from attempting to close the distance between the limb, and himself though. Using his outrageous speed, he'd snag the arm up, and from there he wouldn't stop moving. Darren was easily faster than Omi in his current form, so the Cyborg would just keep on the move, and wait for a chance to strike. With what? His arm. Darren had planned on brutally beating Barsait with his dismembered arm.

24Knight Breaker

"Hey man, that's my move." KB said, but Omi wasn't paying any attention. Sonuvabitch was cramping the vampire's style. Made a pretty good show of it for a wannabe though - wrecking most of DARE in the process. Darren was in pieces scrambling to survive, Ed and KB were a bit burnt up, and the big guy was probably about to get a**l raped.

The Coin was still ****** around. Lazy piece of st hadn't really moved at all since the beginning. The charm was in the form of a snake but Omi didn't seem to have much if any control over it. At least, he wasn't directing the little feller away from them or trying to make it hide or anything like that.

With a shrug KB started shuffling towards the small golden totem. One arm held his chest while the other reached ahead of him, grasping in the air. It wasn't too far to reach that damnable little snake. Yeah, not too far. The Red Hour was there though, he could feel it. The more and more he got tunnel vision on the Coin the more the red started to fill in the black void in his vision. Then Omi would know. KB had to think, he figured, dwell on the phantom pain in his chest and the desperation of their situation - the rising heat.

All that was left to feel was rising bloodlust. Yeah, focus on that. KB knew what it was like to be super strong, super durable, tearing bitches apart and manhandling adventuring groups. Tossing them around like ragdolls. Omi was probably in such a frenzied state given his relatively mundane life as a mortal. The vampire smiled as he stumbled forwards, thinking about how great it would be to grab ahold of the changeling and tear him into pieces with his bare hands. Keep Omi interested in the killing, that was his plan.

25King Haelstrom

This was it. If there was anything Barsait desired more from DARE themselves, it was a true combination of these men in tandem, teamwork, to shine through.

At least, that's what he wanted to think, spending all those painful days prior to now preparing this little endeavor. Omi, through moments of luck mixed with moments of prowess, was quite wealthy for the mortal spectrum. Powerful, gifted, with a beautiful wife and children, youthful.. so the common consensus was the man was mad. Perhaps, he had to resign to himself, he was a bit. He had enough to contemplate day in and day out to justify madness over.

The first time he beat a man bloody without the intent to kill, in front of a live audience -- it was to make enough money to buy bread. Nothing more, just combating the condition of starvation. Time and years went on, and finding his knack, the baron exploited much as he could to gain mass coin. He was good at it. He knew when to take the dives, when to tear someone apart, when to stop playing games and go after them in their homes. 'Course it never failed to escalate, dipping his toes into warfare, gaining his horrific "art" and having to live with the days he could be merciful, then sleep with the ones he couldn't.

Of course, few too many successes get to a man. Even the most humble can't help it, it's in human nature. That was Barsait's folly: sticking his nose in where it didn't belong one too many times, retracing his roots. And that's when he discovered the notions of "power" & "knowledge" -- words anyone thinks they know until they're shown it in true. He was shown a lack of empathy. He was shown how the world beyond mankind viewed said men. And he was shown stinging, bitter betrayal.

Within him welled up a hatred, a burning ambition that dulled so much of him but sharpened the remainder -- and it was this, that dark will, that curiosity of his, that coerced Omi Barsait to give in to the tournament committee's 'requests' this fine year. What convinced him to initiate a procedure from his body he likely couldn't perform again for years without killing himself on the spot.

He had to know if, infused with enough "knowledge," could a human body transcend. No, more specifically.. he had to know if, past his own paranoia and shortcomings, could the man in red even process the power he felt he needed to reach even a finger towards enlightenment.

But!.. they had swam deeper into the depths of the [Hour] now.

They would learn what he sought.

"HISSHHHHHSSS"

..ten thousand.

Ten thousand serpents, red, exploded from the man's backside and once again snugly entwined themselves around every limb of the vampire KB's body, halting his otherwise praise-worthy rise to glory.

So then how many secured Darren..? Surely a similar number, as "Barsait" - or the human outline of him amidst this saturated scene of deep red, vomited snakes upon his visage, engulfing the very arm he had attempted to savagely beat the lord with.

Claymore! CONSUMED.

The Changeling mid-stride, CONSUMED.

The descending form of the cyborg, Edward - CONSUMED.

For DARE, all the vision one would now have was of writhing, squirming red. It was as though they were consumed in a wave of organic creatures, pushing against them so strongly that it began to flow them down an irreversible river -- hiding the [COIN] as though a needle within its haystack. All sight of the cathedral, beginning to hyper-heat with the conditions at hand, had been devoured.. and then, something most troublesome began to speak into each fighter's ears.

"Excellent~ Sorry sorry if I lost my composure earlier gentlemen, but it would seem I'm more relaxed now." ..something that should not have been.

The vision of the "lord" was projected into every man -- bits of his old armor and clothing torn into that unnatural flesh, still Barsait was far more humanoid now than before, more compact and similar to his original size.. yet, his entire body! It beat like a heart, every ounce of skin bulging with each passing moment - areas where the flesh and bone should have been torn, either revealing such a constant flow of serpent mass that it seemed not unlike a volcano ready to erupt, or bone more like plate metal -- thick and entirely inhuman. That white pearly grin of the man's, stretching ear to ear... accompanied his horrific transformation.

"Still, you all seem preoccupied. Here, I'll give you .. three presents. One, the why of this situation. Two, your mistakes in how you've tried to solve it. And three, a second opportunity."

BEAT. BEAT. BEAT. How many times every second did his entire body pulsate from ghastly head to toe, pumping absurd amounts of now unnatural blood coursing "serpents" of absurd number..? "You see, this is not the first time I had instigated the hour. No.. once, in my mercenary days, I got caught up in a border skirmish between my very own homeland and a little town called Pinberry. I took the, so I believed, downtrodden side - and was subject to a guerrilla war I could scarcely have ever imagined possible."

Faint imagery began to "form" in the infected's minds.

"Yes. I wasn't like any normal man, not anymore; why not put my gift to use, to get coin and better the world? It was easy enough an excuse. Yet, Zine.. proved ever the resourceful. One night, the city I was tasked with helping strike a decisive blow on this border dispute.. fell prey to an attack of opportunity. The trees. There had been men camping in those massive trees, living off rations and remaining more still than corpses, for god knows how long; more, housed beneath the ground in winding tunnel systems. The humorous part. They were all dressed, suited, and adorned like Pinberry's nation [Lanor]'s soldiers. Immediately and at once, they filled our ranks with men.. identical to our advancing force."

How eerie, for the screeching to be overwrote by his words in sound. One could see it - the being Omi grasping one of those massive snake-headed shoulder pauldrons.. on the floor beneath literal tons of serpents, and pointing it at himself. Then, flesh scolding oil struck his skin, sizzling into it. He showed no apparent signs of pain.

"It was a slaughter. The city was a border job, not truly backed in full by its nation just yet. That's when I first felt it.. from whence I gained my art, the urge to control, the temptation to consume. I gave in, and when my eyes opened.. the world was indeed, red." Vision of soldiers farther than the eye could see in silver plate writhing in place from his "field" could be felt. "I was legion. I was many. I was one. Each man there, traitor and comrade, infused into me. I had so much information - modifying my body and tuning my mind. A hidden tunnel carrying food supplies..? I knew of its whereabouts and I burned it. A man promised amnesty by the Zine court, I ripped apart. Who was in disguise, I could see like flags. Who I slaughtered, I felt the hatred enthralling me from Pinberry's townsman, and I felt the lament of the man I cut down; as I slaughtered, I was committing suicide! Killing myself! Slaughtering pieces of myself."

Finally, each DARE fighter calmly felt stone. They had been, gently even, pressed against wall.

"..One man, through initial combat and then through weeding out traitors and executing them with the knowledge in hand, slew over 8,000 in one night. What became of that skirmish was a travesty, but as I recovered from my body's normalization, I began to contemplate what I had. The gravity.. of what I had."

"Become a god? TO WHAT end? To rule and lord over? Meaningless trite I have no interest in. To become king? So long as vile influences called gods, kings, and idols reign free, no good intention of mine with such power could ever achieve the benefits I desire. Then, a dark realization came to me.. what if..

There were no gods?

No kings?

No idols?

What if every emperor and every lord, every god and every patriarch, every seat of power -- were devoured by a being greater than they? Then such a being went into slumber, leaving the world shapeless, allowing it a true fresh slate at long last? COULD I become this Glutton God?

At once, every serpent in the room disappeared at his single signal - save.. a swarm pinning poor Wigi to a western wall of the altar. The rest of the party had been swam back to the Cathedral's iron doors.

And there Barsait was in true sight. A menacing 'human', serpents gushing down from openings in his every limb.

"..honestly, perhaps not. Perhaps that's not even the solution. But I want one so badly.. what would happen if I spread this influence'o mine to more people? Stronger beings yet, more of them? More and more? Would I not be with a power that rivals "gods?" Would I not be capable of feasting on them as well? If I could gain the power to extend this hour to as long as I like, could I not feast on the omega? Absorb the alpha? You kind gentlemen - help me shape my answer."

There, so close yet so far away, was the innocent looking [COIN] again - bopping about in place.

"Ah, and as for a hint~ You can't overwhelm my mind with concurrent thought, it's an exercise in futility. Somewhere in your brains, you flag your true course of action as such, and your falsehoods as such; to one such as I, they can be read with a cursory glance." Inhaling deeply, the man continued on so .. calmly: "The solution is simple. Perform an action so perfect, not even clairvoyance and knowledge of the future could prevent it. I hold in me all of your strengths; pin me then, with your weaknesses, the sums of yourselves combined. All of you in unison."

"And.. actually, you know what? I bet you're all growing bored. Let's test something."

Preempting one of DARE would be getting awful antsy now that they were free, still the mischief in Barsait's voice prior to veins pulsing on his forehead as both his hands rose high, beginning to lift the bound changeling -- bode... ill.

Quote:** Wrote:

Adamant Fireball – Basic fireball attack about the size of a soft ball, made of compressed flame energy for a bigger blast, usually medium damage consisting of 1st to 2nd degree burns on a target. Considered "dumb" projectiles. Technically, Ryugi can unleash multiple of these blasts, up to 5, from his hand for a sort of "carpet bombing" or "shotgun" effect. Of course they drain equivalent energy for each additional fireball, and are still "dumb" projectiles. The combined effect of being struck by these multiple blasts is not on par with his more powerful attacks, despite the same energy cost being attributed to them. ((10 Energy Each))

Erupting Dragon Fume - Three streams of flames shoot forth in the shape of dragons with Ryugi guiding them to collide with the designated target. Can be held continuously for more damage if the need arises by using energy for each consecutive turn of use, can be held no longer than three turns Ryugi must be standing still to use and channel this attack. ((20 Energy - 15 Energy each turn afterward to maintain/channel))

Supernova - Sends a massive ball of flames about the size of a 70's Volkswagen Beetle at opponent from high in the air with Ryugi guiding the blast with a powerful punch – Ryugi’s favorite finishing move. The basic force is powerful enough to give 2nd-3rd degree burns to the target, as well as send them flying back roughly 30 feet due to the blunt pressure and explosive force the attack releases. Other damage generally includes shock damage to the target's body. Ryugi incurs a cost of roughly 50 Energy from the attack, as well as shock injuries and damage to his guiding arm from collision with the ground and the attack itself. Due to the limits of Ryugi's body and stamina, this attack can only be used a MAXIMUM of 2 times, and this maximum is ONLY if he uses no other energy based attacks, and sacrifices his right arm's ability to function. The attack is actually a powerful burst of energy that acts more like a powerful wave than an explosion, much like a hose spraying off in all directions when striking the ground, and helps to limit Ryugi's own damage suffered during the attack.

Light Manipulation - This technique allows Ryugi to call on light energy to form any number of solid objects for attack or defensive purposes, much like a shadow elemental, but using light energy instead. Stamina is used to manifest objects based on their size and complexity. ((10 Energy for small objects [knives, brass knuckles], 25 Energy for medium objects [shortsword, katana, light shield, longsword etc], 40 Energy for large objects [energy walls, heavy shield, greatsword, greatspear, lance, large ball and chain, tower shield, buster sword etc], varying on overall construction)) If the objects are not destroyed in combat, the energy can be reabsorbed by Ryugi and used to replace some of the Energy / Health lost during their creation (50% energy/health refund). Any Energy/Health refunded is refunded as Energy, and does not add to Ryugi's HP/Stamina.

-Emerald Fire: One of Moonblade's specialties. Due to the unique arcanic makeup, he has the innate ability to manifest emerald flame in virtually any form around most of his techniques. Though this energy takes fire in form, its function is a bit different. While it produces a substantial amount of heat (up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit), the real damage comes from the corrosive properties of the attack, causing fire and heat resistance to be only half as effective against it. For characters with ultra high temperature tolerance (as opposed to percentage-based resistance), Emerald Fire ignores 600 degrees Fahrenheit of the victim's heat resistance. If the target can withstand temperatures above 1400 degrees Fahrenheit, they will still feel as though they have suffered a first degree burn in the affected area for up to a minute, but otherwise take no lasting damage. The burning sensation and wounds are caused by the corrosive energy slowly consuming the target's matter. Damage is caused in the form of 'burns' and charred/destroyed flesh. Emerald Fire does not normally effect materials like metal or stone and, unlike regular flames, will not spread over flammable surfaces. Emerald Fire will not 'ignite' the target, though it is possible for an object to catch fire (regularly) if their combustion threshold is under 800 degrees Fahrenheit. This ability CANNOT be used simultaneously with Emerald Frost.

Wyvern Fang: A cloak of corrosive, chaotic energy envelops Moonblade's weapon as he goes for this attack. When he lands a successful blow, he causes a festering wound in his opponent, dealing additional magic damage over time as it continues to weaken the victim. Wyvern Fang halves the natural 'healing factor' for the wound and is twice as effective against draconic or cold-blooded characters. The additional magic damage is comparable to having a mild-strength acid poured inside the wound, which persists for three posts after the initial strike landed. This leaves damage to the affected area similar to an extremely painful chemical burn. This attack CANNOT be combined with Emerald Fire/Frost or Silver Eclipse.

Cost: 10% initial, plus 5% per active round.

Limiter: This ability is forbidden with 3+ stacks of Arcane Regression.

((*Note: If already active, Wyvern Fang will NOT automatically expire if the limiter is reached. It just cannot be cast again.))

((*Note2: The upkeep cost is only paid while Wyvern Fang is active on the weapon. It does NOT incur a cost from wounds it is currently inflicting.))

-Omega Lance: Using Azurian Magic, Moonblade materializes a powerful six-foot 'lance' of pure energy. Having quasi-physical properties, the lance may be used as a comparable weapon of iron. Upon piercing an enemy's flesh to a significant degree, the entire power of the lance flares up and courses through the opponent's open wound, dealing considerable energy damage to the target in an instant, after which point the spell is completely exhausted. The average human without a resistance to electricity would be stunned for up to three seconds due to the sudden influx of mana, unable to take any physical action.

Alternatively, the Omega Lance may take the form of a thin tendril or whip of cackling energy ten feet in length. When employed in this manner, the Omega Lance has a nasty tendency to latch onto any physical object it comes into contact with, causing searing energy damage in the progress. The energy is discharged in this manner at a slower rate than the piercing version, taking three turns to wear out its energy, but may also be used as an anchor to restrict or move the enemy. Moonblade may also cause the Omega Lance to retract, drawing both Moonblade and the bound target towards one another (depending on strength and weight), though doing so ends the spell's duration.

Omega Lance automatically dissipates four posts after it is formed. The Omega Lance can swap between the whip and lance forms mid combat.

Cost: 30%

Limiter: This ability is unaffected by Arcane Regression.

Barsait.. had hurled Wigi with such horrifying might, the changeling would fly towards his comrades like a ogre-bound missile, twirling in the air so fast that he no doubt would spin 18000 degrees.

Of course.. what enveloped him, and would be swarming towards DARE, was a horrific perversion mismatch of so many special Ryugin & Dare techniques merged together into one monstrosity, it would obviously take highlight. Namely the figure of a massive, glowing, flaming serpent larger than a truck flying at them, enveloped in so many kinds of flame vying for presence -- teeth comprised of OMEGA LANCES, literally destroying errant dust coming into contact with it mid-air.

Wigi was the unfortunate carrier of this ..

...and poor KB was the direct center target, though at this point, all three of Wigi's comrades were in the general path.

Lord Haelstrom Wrote:

The vampire's reaction to the physical threat would be quite simple. He had spent the monologue in captivity as well as quiet thought. The things that Omi described weren't unfamiliar to the vampire, nor was the scope of the problem. It was something KB recognized and it set him into a mood and line of thought that was different from the other members of his team.

When Wigi inevitably shot towards KB as a massive wyrm of chaotic, destructive energy the only thing the vampire could do is throw himself out of the way. He did so with as much strength as he could manage which was enough to clear the attack. It was also so much that he impacted a nearby pillar with enough force to send hairline cracks shooting along its length, as well as audibly snapping parts of his already broken body. The vampire collapsed to the floor from his tumble but wasn't knocked out. Instead of passing out, he spoke firmly, his voice somehow carrying over the tumult of the crashing changeling - perhaps resonating in the mind.

"I understand what you speak of, the red world. I understand the overwhelming desire to make the people around you understand it. Better than most I truly know your predicament - know what it really is."

He stood, then he looked at Omi directly. Deadly serious, there was no hint of sarcasm or lie in his voice or his thoughts. Intending to bring clarity to the madman, as well as a solemn threat. It was a matter of inescapable duty and conviction. The fact that they faced a power that threatened Gaia from Zine was evidence enough that the situation was well and beyond the limitations of a mere tournament. That meant that he had to react first and foremost as a guardian of Gaia itself, and not as a participant.

"You are infected with an unnatural fever. You are the carrier who now only exists to spread it as far and wide as possible. It will manifest any excuse or motivation necessary for its survival and proliferation. Logic may leave you entirely, your thoughts and actions have probably long stopped truly being your own. Even your goal is hollow and ludicrous, the seed of which is in spreading the fever to everything, everywhere. Whatever power this disease brings you as it forsakes your body to torment is merely an unintended side effect."

Looking up at the ceiling, the vampire sighed. Life was rough.

"Think about it. You want to save the world, get rid of all its evils? You hate the gods, but you want to consume them? How many flaws and failures do you plan to absorb? It's simple math. You'll never win. Even if you polarized what you loved and hated you'd just end up a glowing angel standing in a pool of your own s**t!"

...

"But we can't allow that. The people of Gaia deserve a fighting chance at their own fates, their own decisions, without you or any other force that seeks to swallow up the world for better or worse. To that end the only solution here is noble sacrifice. To bring your temple down upon your head and quarantine this red disease. Goodbye Omi."

A terrible crack would resound through the cathedral as the vampire's fist impacted the damaged pillar. The hairline fractures would split more visibly, followed by the grating sound of stone on stone as it started to come apart. Combined with the amount of structural damage already caused by the overbearing sun and events of the Red Hour, it wouldn't take much for the roof in that area to begin to sag. Here and there stones would probably break free and start to rain down through the temple.

27Better Than Gore

Disgusting.

A cringe came before Darren's jaw fell ajar, flabbergasted by the blasphemy Omi spoke of, and his stomach churned. Truly sickened by the sheer thought of Barsait's belief. Anarchy was his ideal way of life, conquering one Kingdom at a time, beheading one King after another. Being binded by his snake's was hard; however, hearing Barsait's incoherent rambling was borderline torture. Rage, and insanity inducing torture. Every single word that was spoken only persuaded Darren closer, edged him toward the edge, if Omi was tapped into their emotion's, he'd surely be aware of just how off-balance the Cyborg truly was. Fighting back while in the Baron's grasp was futile, there was no hope of escaping his clutch, Darren unfortunately would figure this out the hard way. Encased in red, the Drug Lord would struggle, fidgeting inside of the wrap, all it would take was enough room for a swing. Just one swing, and all of this would end. Darren would be free from Barsait's grasp. Depending on how close the rest of his Team was, they would possibly hear a display of frustration, and anger. A scream of rage, and fear. It was no use, there was absolutely nothing the Cyborg could do, he was stuck inside until Omi made it otherwise. Which only eaged his rage on, eaged him until the verge of falling, the edge drew closer with each passing momment.

Bloop.

Darren, and the rest of his Team had basically been shat out by entrance of the Cathedral. Except Wiji; of course, Darren wouldn't notice this until it was far too late. Omi was still talking, still rambling on about his gluttony, his sick obsession with shaping the World in his image. "You sicken me, beyond belief, I can't even begin to fathom what really is going on in your head." Darren's voice was soft, almost going unnoticed if one wasn't paying close enough attention, and his facial expression was emotionless. Not even a hint of anguish, anger, distraught, all the rage that came over him vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. Bottled up deep inside, and yet it could easily be summoned yet again depending on how Omi reacted. Assuming the Cyborg hadn't literally crushed the dismembered arm while going through his miniature tantrum, the cybernetic hand opened, releasing the grip he had on it. Letting it fall back toward the ground, and the impact forced his FIGHTER alive once more. Raising the volume of the playlist, and even forcing the next song on.

'Perhaps you had better start from the beginning.'

'Aheh-heh-heh.'

Then came Wiji, flying at them like a heat seeking missle, about the speed of one too. They didn't have much time to get out of the way, especially the Bloodsucker, he seemed to be Omi's target with this attack. Quickly the Cyborg shot forward, diving into that of a roll left of his current position, in a horizontal angle. Once the roll had been preformed, Darren was quick to get onto his feet once more, and immediately began building up his speed. His momentum... Darren was aiming to circle around Barsait, setting an example for his Team to follow, they all had to hit him. At once. Something was seemingly different about the man Omi once bit, he was concentrating, encouraged, before he had just wanted to make it out of this Cathedral alive. Now he wanted nothing more than victory, nothing more than to crush Barsait, nothing more than to prove just how wrong the Baron was.

Now it was his time.

Crack!

"God damn it," Something happened just as he began closing the distance between Omi, and himself. The Vampire literally broke loose a pillar he earlier collided with, forcing the Cathedral to begin falling apart, the ceiling cracked as it gave way, letting the sun shine through whichever crack became wide enough. KB knew this would happen, knew that by getting rid of the ceiling, Omi would burn under his own home's sun. As would he, and as would the rest of the Team. Was this really the price they'd have to pay?

"Edward! THE COIN!"

28King Haelstrom

Barsait, fists down, head raised defiantly at the skyline of the cathedral, showed a mild level of shock at what he was witnessing. The immortal, KB, had willingly destroyed their arena of combat.. dooming his team, and supposedly even he the red lord, to death.

Of course, no sooner had the crumbling began, than the lord swung his left hand, filling the gaps with red biomass. No immediate danger. Still, the holy building was on its death throes. And all Barsait could do, even amidst the halted charge of Darren damning his motivation.. was tilt the baron's chin back with recognition.

"..interesting. I am, against your suspicions, not without reason." Raising his left palm, the [COIN] suddenly flew to that same hand -- its neck gripped tight by his nigh-demonic fingers. "

"..it had already occurred to me, perhaps before or perhaps as our minds melded, that my original course of action was not without flaw. But between idly sitting back and watching the world burn, and doing what I must to halt the flames.." Sipping in air all abound his pores, the baron tilted his head to the right, baring down that powerful gaze.

"Still. Let me be honest. This "coin" ... was meaningless."

CRUSH.

He outright destroyed it, hand annihilating the essence as it disappeared into thin air.

"I had lied about your win conditions entirely. That golden snake was merely a motivator - had you reached it, I'd just beat your skulls in harder and mocked you. Truthfully, like I said.. I held little interest in this tournament and its progression. I was just using you as guinea pigs. The likelihood of you ever succeeding was extremely minute."

More of the building began to crack, the serpent mass flying with it. This wasn't just KB's doing, the sun was baring down powerfully enough -- none of the religious home of faith would be left standing for long.

"..however. I do reward the courageous. The willingness to destroy yourself for purposes greater than mere coin and fame, show me your true colors. Perhaps.. you do understand." Almost sadly, the man in flesh of life & undeath gazed down at his own crushed left fist for a long moment. Deciding on something.

"So. As your guide, it is my place to decide if you were victorious or defeated. Let me give that ruling now."

Barsait's right fist rose out as far as that monstrous arm could reach... and finally tilted upward, a thumb shooting at the ceiling. These were flawed men, like he was flawed. In the right eyes, they were monsters, abominations, untrustworthy savants.. yet, the underlying conviction.

"..victory belongs only to the righteous."

And then.. all vision faded once more.

[Cathedral Ruins, an hour later.]

DARE would awaken amidst rubble, to an artificial night sky once more. The building had been ravished.. and the surrounding landscape was torched not unlike the remnants of a battlefield. However, the shell had indeed been shut, and that false moon shone coldly over them above - the menace of the dreaded super sun no longer present.

Leaning back casually against a rather large portion of remaining wall structure.. was your guide. Omi Barsait, now in decidedly normal conditions again - though not better for the wear. Fragments of metal were embedded in the edges of his flesh. He was bleeding from his scalp, his jaw, his shoulders.. even his ears had blood emit from them. And the haggard way he leaned there, it was obviously a show of bravado for him to even be standing. The rapid transformation sequences, followed by the violent return to his normal bodily capacities, had not just taken its toll on him... it had nearly killed the man on the spot.

Though he had very poorly bandaged himself, .. the blood loss was troublesome looking. However, his voice rang out in a droll, not letting that stop him.

"I've already arranged a transport vehicle to come in. You're being delivered to your next fight immediately; I've already given my impressions of you lot, and you'll be moving on to the semi-finals without a hitch." Creek. Bone.

"..however however, I'm not that heartless. None of you seem like you're feeling especially peachy. Especially since I couldn't stop.. all the debris from raining down on you, to my apologies. So, to mark the occasion.. I've arranged medical care for you lot, even a bit supernatural against my tastes, on your way over. You won't have the time to get fully treated, but.. I can guarantee you, you'll be in fighting condition."

Cool air splashed across the cast.

"...and look. I'm feeling generous. I've got one more reward, on top of not killing you or sending you into combat with monsters limbless and looking stupid." Wincing, the fellow began to kneel down.. and eye the four of you with eyes full of ice and vindication.

"..all of you should be a bit bloody. I'm going to give you a little treat to send you on your way. But you'll have to be quick, I doubt the medical team'll enjoy what I'm going to do to you. Any questions about what it is, you'll answer yourself, I promise." Raising his right index finger, Barsait stifled a groan, and continued: "It'll work like this. Pick something on you. A body part. An item. Some clothing you're particularly fond of. Then... I'll take care of the rest."

Swishhhhh, "Though know this is a temporary gift.. one I'll be robbing back from you when your status as DARE ends. Still, the armored truck should be here soon. Tick Tock Tick Tock pick pick."

Awful jovial, for someone with blood oozing out of his eyes. The time DARE spent unconscious must have given him ample preparation to pretend he was invincible. Creaking bones told a different story, of course.
