The Spire of Heaven - Warped Gardens

The sprawling gardens outside the Spire of Heaven used to be a statement to the majesty of the Heaven or Hell tournament. The stately arrangement of statues and precisely cut hedge maze stood as a testament to the order embodied by the Spire itself. Now, with the effects of the unstable energies released during the 2011 tournament, the gardens have been twisted into something far less orderly and even less relaxing to take a stroll through. The symmetrical, square-shaped orientation of the maze has become warped into random, winding patterns that twist left and right, forming numerous dead ends. The fountain in the center clearing has stopped flowing, uprooted by a mess of rising roots that have left it twisted and broken into a disturbingly statuesque form. Chunks of broken statue litter the ground while crooked vines snake through the broken concrete and above the hedges themselves, forming webs of overgrowth that can easily ensnare the unwary. Of course, there are far worse things to worry about deeper within the maze than mere foliage...
Obviously, the Heaven or Hell staff would never put their participants in such danger...not when it'd prevent fighters from beating each-other senseless themselves. As such, various Judges and tournament staff can be seen far on the sidelines holding back carnivorous flora and mutated fauna, some more successful than others. A few of the technicians and gardeners can be heard screaming for their lives as sentient plant life ensnares them like flies in a spider-web, while Judges constantly pummel the mutated ecosystem into mulch. It is advised that contestants do not interfere with this reclamation effort and pay the staff no mind, as they should not be in the way of the fighting.
General - Opposing teams will start off in the center of the gardens, a 60x40 foot rectangular clearing with a large, broken and vine-tangled fountain with a 10 foot diameter base in the middle. The walkable areas of the garden and hedge maze are made of concrete, about four inches thick. Various statues of mythological figures and Heaven or Hell Champions line the perimeter, some broken and some simply weathered. The footing is slightly uneven in some spots where vines have broken through the concrete and form a mesh across the ground, but some of the concrete pathway remains intact. Judges and staff can be heard struggling in the distance, but should otherwise be treated as spectators and not interacted with/assisted/attacked, lest players risk a card-able offense. They're simply there to keep the arena from becoming a dungeon...for the time being.
Aside from the clearing, the surrounding maze within acceptable fighting boundaries stretches onward for another 20 feet in each direction. The pathways are five feet wide and the hedges themselves are 7 feet tall. Although the Judges are keeping the mutated plant-life at bay, there are still plenty of tangling roots, winding pathways and dead ends in the hedge maze to make willfully choosing to traverse them a bad idea unless it can be used to a particular fighter's advantage.
Note: Due to something brought to my attention, I must point out that the sky is pretty dismal due to the Warp, so it's not sunny in the least. Think of it like a cloudy grey sky where the visibility is fine but there isn't really any sun.
Weapons - Broken pieces of marble statues, particularly the weapons of said mythological hero/HoH competitor carved out of marble, rope-like vines hanging from statues/strewn across the ground.
Natural Element Resource - Earth, Nature. Would be water as well, but alas, the fountain has run dry.
Bonus Effects - -2 Orientation, -1 Room
