CRIMSON HAWK - BAR - SUNSET

Besides.. she WAS one of the crazies!

"Well, hello nurse." Rance snickered and took another drink. "Somehow I doubt your healing hands will work on any bruises I sustain, but there's a lot of different ways to see things mended." He glanced around the room, running a hand through his hair and listening to everything happening around them. The place seemed fairly lively.

"So, I take it you've done this sort of thing before, eh? What's it like?"

Allen awoke fully rested in his hotel room after a peaceful night's slumber. He put on new clothes, which consisted of baggy white pants and buckled boots, donned his studded right shoulder armor, vambrace and metal gauntlet, put his cutlass in a sheath chained to his Achaian belted bottoms and went to the Crimson Hawk Hotel bar in an attempt to mingle with other Heaven or Hell team fighting tournament participants.

Allen sat down, ate a big breakfast, limbered up with a light exercise routine and silently wondered to himself when the other competitors would awake and join him at the bar.

CRIMSON HAWK - BAR - SUNSET

"Somehow I doubt your healing hands will work on any bruises I sustain, but there's a lot of different ways to see things mended."

Raven was trying hard to ignore the rest of the room, taking another long drink before smirking at Rance. "I can work all sorts of *magic* with these hands." She deliberately made air quotes as she said the word magic, implying that she was not at all dependent on real magic for all sorts of things... as he had already seen while out in the parking lot where she had picked at least a dozen pockets without a single cry of alarm.

"So, I take it you've done this sort of thing before, eh? What's it like?"

She frowned, and took a sip from the bottle thinking the question over. "Messy, but in a fun sort of way... lots of pain and struggle, but with the right people on your team it can be a lot of fun. Although there have been fatalities and debilitating injuries in the past, so don't be fooled into thinking this is safe just because some strangers told you they had fun getting the snot kicked out of themselves a few times." She couldn't stop a small giggle that bubbled it's way up her throat as she remembered the epic food fight Ryugi had started in the kitchen stadium that one year, and showing Damien all the joys of Shopping!

"Lots of hard work really though... I've known a lot of the competitors over the years, and even when they won a fight they often needed a lot of emergency medical assistance to keep from bleeding out in their rooms! You need to pay attention to as many fights as you can before your turn comes up, try to learn what the new faces can do so they don't squish you in the first minute." A few of the more spectacular EMT moments for her flashed through her minds eye... Max, Sun, Damien, hell even Ryugi had lost an eye in a fight.... yes, you had to have a real case of temporary insanity to think that fighting in blood sports was fun in any way shape or form.

She took another long drink and glared at the bar tender as the fellow caught up and filled the tankard full of beer again and set another full bottle of vodka next to it... which was a good thing since the current bottle was getting down to the half empty point. "You going in the free agent's list, or do you have teamamtes you are meeting here Rance?"

"I know how to sightread," she answered while looking over the page. She hummed the notes to herself, looking between the page, Leon, and Marcus.

"But what part do I play? Do I sing, do I strum, do I lead, do I drum~? Or do I simply mimic you?"

"Messy in a fun sort of way, huh? Sounds like something I could get behind." He seemed mostly unconcerned with the risk of bodily harm, though that might have been due to his pride or unfamiliarity with the contest. Or both. Probably both. One thing he was not unfamiliar with, however, was guzzling more booze, which he did in expert fashion.

"If they want to try and shquish this, they'll have their work cut out for them. I'm no pushover." He snorted, setting down the bottle of vodka again. "Only thing I don't have is a team. I didn't know this was a team thing. I didn't look that far into it." He lifted a brow and gave Raven a once-over again, eyes totally admiring her curves in something of an unabashed way. "Don't suppose you've got a team or a team room I could join, hmm? I wouldn't mind partnering with a veteran who also happens to be a gorgeous woman."

“I Think that should be obvious yea?”Leon asked with a shrug. “He’s The Bassist/Vocalist, The lass at the drumkit is the drummer, so that means we’re the two guitarists, Now which one is the rhythm or the lead, I believe that is up to Marcus.” As Leon spoke He seemed to answer he question with concern. He didn’t doubt she could play, he couldn’t doubt anything as of yet, but he was worried about her statements on what she was meant to do. That said it wasn’t his band to ruin so it wasn’t his band to lead either.

Which was why Marcus took charge staring at Descant.“You’re going to be playing Rhythm, if you can perform a bit something extra then do so…”Marcus spoke as he plugged in his bass. It was then the playful environment turned serious, the room almost seemed to mute alongside everything. Leon took all of this in with a deep breath. “Look, If it helps you can follow me, play harmony if need be…” He said as he stepped forward and took a deep breath, taking in whatever small crowd it was. A sleazy grin now plastered on his face. “But for now….It’s Showtime.”

A Skinner man stepped on stage wearing what seemed to be the most out of date clothes ever, adoring in 70’s bellbottoms with a long sleeved shirt that only slightly managed to cover his rather hair chest. If it wasn’t for the fact he was wearing long black hair instead of it adorned in an afro, he’d be probably the most 1970 thing on the stage. “Ladies and Gentleman your entertaining for tonight is here, let’s give a big round of applause for Generation Clash!”

Short Applause was only greeted by a blank stare by Leon, he wasn’t quite paying attention to him, he was ready to play.

It would be on his cue for everyone to start. Slow deep breath followed as his clasped guitar pick wielding hands began to however along the pickups. Marcus noticed that Zone and smiled, this was going to be good. “Thank you every, today we’ll be performing one of our favorites, the cover from a GREAT band of Out, [SPOTLIGHT KID](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z8kAzZs7x4)!”

At those words, Leon began to play.

Leon was always still and never wavered when one spoke with him, but now as his fingers danced around the frets, the crowd at his beck and call as he proceeded to play the intro riff. It was nearly flawless, no misplaced notes, nothing mistimed, even for his first time clearly playing the song. It was clear that those nearby were in the presence of a clear guitar prodigy.

7Miranda Ecks

Miranda had no issue with out-eating Silver, but her face was the face of relative boredom-- she was only eating so much for the sole purpose of beating Silver and teaching him not to challenge her appetite ever again. She considered taking one of Vahn's pitchers of waters, but thought better of it as she didn't want him side-eyeing her for doing so. Once the waiter came, she would simply order yet another pitcher for herself.

"Is there any particular reason you're here," she asked Anson while gently putting down a bone. He seemed to get on well with everyone, despite not seeming like anyone she'd recognize... perhaps he was the child of some late celebrity, which would account for his being calm around people who others would consider thus.

Rave turned her head, dipping her chin away from him to hid her smile as she used one hand to lightly brush away the compliment, and then snagged the bottle again for a long pull. "Whatever makes you think I'm a fighter?"

She giggled again, resting her elbows on the bar, her chin on the back of her hands as she looked at Rance. "I'm more the sassy, sideline eye candy... or the last ditch effort if one of the other three real fighters on the team can't make it. My boys all seem to have better things to do this year, and all my other friends are firmly convinced that I am nothing but.. eye candy... so no, I don't have a team... but we could get a room easily enough." That last was said with a very obvious wiggle of her eyebrows.

The pair would hear a chuckle from their left. It came from a young woman sitting at the bar. Rugged looking though youthful, with an exuberant smirk radiating confidence. Her hair was short and platinum blonde, giving her a punk aesthetic with her denim attire. She tilted the cup of whiskey from her lips. The ice clinked against the glass, producing a gentle

“Mark..”

Sapphira thought that there was something clearly wrong with this picture. She thought the girl was selling the eye candy angle way too hard and that if this guy went up stairs he would get robbed.

She sat her glass down but did not say much more.

Once, just once the slime saw his new teammate smile. It was a beautiful thing in the light. V might have been male once but this made him question his orientation. The wine soaked paper was signed casually and V left his brass keg hiding in a corner while he turned his attention to the sky, the sun was already turning a bright orange as it began the decent across Gaia's horizon.

The magic of words, flowing through the bar drew the slime back inside. Giant surfboard in tow, literally floating behind the slime, swagger in her step, V approached the bar and forced an arm between the to, slapping down the soggy registration paper. In the Hawaiian shirt, V's figure was luscious yet not over the top. Hono would find her name printed on the form as if the slime wasn't some kind of creepy stalker. Though the knight would find his was missing. At one point the box had been covered with black ink though either the wine or some other nonsense had removed it. How the paper was still holding together was beyond the realm of logic, it was still dripping from the spill earlier in the day.

Smiling V would point to Cyphers signature already on the form then to her's and then to the pair at the bar. V wasn't sure of the other figure at the bar, but if Hono had taken an interest in this man and her friend Cypher was already on the team, maybe this could go well. Either way the slime would pound her chest twice, then hold out a peace symbol trying to introduce herself. The Hawaiian shirt was not made for boobs and visibly complained about the new force it had to contain. The slime however didn't seem to care, her amber eyes flickering back and forth between the two.

Silver grinned wide up at Sierra, accepting the water graciously. The young man was apparently no worse for wear as he downed it's contents in a matter of moments, then let out a loud, satisfied exhale. As Sierra took her seat next to Vahn, he beamed across the table at the couple. Seeing them again, especially together like this, warmed his heart, so much he couldn't remember the last time he had felt so grateful. He was obviously quite pleased with the situation.

"Aye! After all this time, I'm still lucky enough to have you two to save me from myself..."

Silver's attention turned back to their guest.

Glancing up at Silver as she noted Anson's words, she would clear her throat gently and frowning pass him a napkin.

"Eeeehh?"

Silver shrunk a bit, meekly taking the napkin and falling back into his chair. He was embarrassed both by the fact he had acted so boorish in front of a Lady, even as good a friend as Sierra, and her guest, as well as he had completely forgotten ever having met this man before. There was enough of a country gentleman in him to know he should have better manners. He absentmindedly wiped at his hands and face, as he seemed to stare through the younger man lost in thought. The rusty gears were obviously grinding in his thick skull.

Suddenly, his eyes lit up, filling with recognition. He shot back to his feet, nearly knocking his seat over backwards. He slammed his hands on the table, ratting the dinnerware once more, before pointing across the table at Anson in a brief motion. His excitability certainly hadn't diminished.

"I remember! Heaven or Hell... was it... eight years ago?! Man, it has been a long time! Please, forgive me! You were on that team with that awesome Elf guy, right? A... Adrien? Adrin...ai? What a great fight! I definitely remember that!"

themightyjello Wrote:

Silver clenched his fist, his eyes almost literally ablaze with excitement.

"UOH?! THE WHOLE SET?! That's impressive! Do you know how rare *I* was?! I can't even find extra copies for my own collection on gBay anymore! All I can find are Shou! I looked great on that card, too! My hair was amazing..."

Vahn Fah Wrote:

Silver's head whipped around to look down the table at Vahn, then back at Miranda. His expression hardened as he steeled his resolve. It was gonna be a long night for this stomach. He grabbed the nearest flagon of unknown liquid, and hoisted it high into the air.

"YEEAAH~ Now the real contest can begin!"

And just in time for the band, too. Dinner and a show.

Descant moved to the only abandoned guitar remaining on the stage, picking it up and tuning it. She didn't use a tuning fork or tuner tone, relying instead on the sound of the strings plucked solo, in duet, and with strum. Her eyes narrowed as she brought the instrument's body near her ear, eventually pressing her cheek against it. For just a couple of seconds, her eyes seemed to glaze as she felt the waves of sound passing around her.

The moment passed quickly enough. Descant shuddered, shaking out her shoulders and midsection, flipping a hand through her hair to ensure it stayed away from her face. The last few seconds of the time before curtains opened was used to quickly scan the page for time and tempo changes; pop/rock chords tended to have specific patterns, but signature and tempo switched on the writer and player's whims. Just as she finished, an interestingly dressed man announced them. The man's fashion elicited a raised brow from Descant, but she quickly refocused when the opening licks were played. If the other members of their last-minute band gave the woman a side glance, they would see that she was calm-- some might think, too calm-- and waiting. She'd enter on time, and play her part effortlessly.

Crimson Hawk Hotel - The Bar

Things were happening, people were talking and lights were flashing - someone, a girl, was taking photos, selfies even. Somewhere in the chaos, Ryke was simply just there, nodding, smiling and grinning along with whatever white noise was being said. She’d lost track of whatever was happening and honestly just wanted to drink and unwind while watching whatever program was playing on the televisions mounted over the bar itself.

One of the new arrivals was apparently a fan? Since when did they have fans?

She (the author) had mentally checked out long ago (not for anyone’s fault but her own) but tried to appear invested in the conversation, to avoid being rude.

Briefly, she wondered when the other three groupies would arrive. Melech had said that he and Connor would meet them here and Jake - who they dropped off at home - also said he would catch up. Not that there was any rush.

And now there was hugging going on. That was her hard line drawn in the sand. The selfies were fine, relatively unobtrusive and didn’t really qualify as an invasion of her personal space but hugging was not a thing she was keen on. Ryke kept her distance and let the two of them, Rox and Izzy, have their moment. She continued drinking, hoping to avoid being pulled in for needless touching.

No but seriously - where the hell was Connor, Mel and Jake?

((here’s a short drabble just to keep my presence lol I didn’t quote no one cause can’t be assed right now))

As the Main Chorus of the song Began, Leon took his position next to Marcus on his right. No longer was he the rigid stern man he was as they talked about him playing. His body was loose, his shoulders which were tense and uneasy when he was talking with Marcus about actually playing was now relaxed and slumped. His pose still but stern, giving the man an air of confidence that was like no other person on the stage, not even the singer who quickly began into the first verse.

*You don't know what's happening, you want to go home

But there's nowhere to hide

You walk out on stage, your first time alone

The crowd's going wild

And you feel so alive

You could stand up and take this all night

They love you but you're in love with the spotlight

You’re the spotlight kid!*

Leon was actually impressed with the first verse, while Marcus’s bass play was far from impressive his voice was top ******** notch and seemed to be pristine, which only accented the musicianship. While there was little pressure before to get something correct, he didn’t seem to mind it now. He was actually excited to finally be on the stage, to finally take a feel of the performance, even for those not really taking notice of his playing. He was just happy to be going, happy to be finally back in the spotlight.

And his body was reacting accordingly, electricity swarmed around his body violently as his hand suddenly began to glow a bright neon green, as they were set for the second verse.

+++Dzan showed up the same way Dzan always showed up. Walking right through the gakking crowd. His hair had been shaven down considerably in the last time he had set foot on this world, let alone this area. An undercut being prominent with dyed longer hair on top. The color? An oil slick like that in the Gaia-Mart parking lot. His bronze eyes hidden beneath "stylish" sunglasses as his pierced and tattooed face constantly moved as he scanned the crowd. People would get mad as he'd shove them out of the way here and there. Yells of protest would die upon lips as every now and then the individual would somewhat recognize the fellow before him. Here and there the whispers of 'Is that Dzan?! He's still alive?! He's back?!' would filter around him. He didn't give a gak about any of that as eventually he'd break the crowd and walk inside straight to the check in place.

+++With a quick movement that sunglasses would be slid up onto his head and a smirk would form his face. "Dzan Streea. Che'in' 'n."
