Vahn Fah Wrote:> It was a good feeling all around the table, even as the waitress returned, a hint of strong liquor on her breath that served to steel her unbreakable resolve as it were. She smiled genuinely enough at least, what caused it at this point was up for debate as she waited to take any orders from the group.
The elf gave the woman a sympathetic smile as she returned to the table. She was quite hungry since it was growing late and she had missed lunch, not to mention the earlier excitement from when she'd arrived. Holding the menu to show her, she pointed to several items eagerly, and named her requests.
"May I please have the Triple Truffle Risotto, Garden Curry, two Thick'n'Juicy Steak-- medium rare, and two to go orders of Stacked Ham Sandwiches with Dish and Chips on the side please?"
She grinned and snapped the menu shut. She REALLY wanted one of those sandwiches, but there was no lady like way to eat one of those, so she had decided to get it for later where she could attack it without judgement. And of course a strategic second sandwich so she wouldn't have to share with Vahn.
Vahn Fah Wrote:> He blinked slowly, bringing his attention back to the table now, and tilting his head towards Anson. It reminded him of what Sierra and he had discussed atop the roof, the mention of a letter of course. Yet he was also reminded of a certain mask... Not like I have a need for that anymore. He gave another squeeze to Sierra. "Funny you should mention that...I didn't really think people sent letters anymore, ya know?"
Silver Alexander Wrote:> Silver perked up, his interest suddenly piqued, at least enough to distract him from his meal. > > > > "HRR ERRH-!" > > > > He choked down his food and let go of Anson, before briefly rummaging around in the bag at his side to produce the note he had received from Vahn shortly prior to his arrival. Included was one of the many fliers that had been seen about the Hawk advertising the ball. Silver sat it on the table and slid it forward, eyeing the happy couple across from him. > > > > "I mean... HEY YEAH, what gives? I really gotta teach you guys how to use a phone... They can do quite a lot now, you know. Including send mail..."
She reached her hand up and laid it overtop of her husbands to give it a reassuring squeeze.
'Are you going to finish telling me now, what you didn't then?' She thought at him curiously.
The temptation to push through their bond and unravel this little mystery was overwhelmingly tempting, but it was nice to share things things in the traditional sense as it were, even if it required exercising a little (or a lot) of restraint. She was however, a bit puzzled about his earlier attitude regarding the letter's contents on the roof, he had seemed cautious, why would he would suddenly be willing to divulge it's contents now in such an open location and with a stranger in their midst?
Her thumb tracing pale circles against the tan skin of his hand before looking incredulously at Silver;
"A what?"
She blinked.
themightyjello Wrote:> "I was also asked to meet an old friend here, so it may just be a lucky coincidence. If you believe in luck, that is."
"Really?" She said picking up a fresh tankard and raising it to her lips, taking a long swig before continuing, "It seems to be quite the occasion for such meetings!" She grinned playfully as she took in the table and winked at Miranda and Silver, before looking back to the blond young man.
"Anybody we would know?" She asked, taking another long drink.
Miranda Ecks Wrote:> "Or any of you, for that matter- what's changed in your lives? What are you doing when we leave the hotel, when this whole affair is over?"
Silver Alexander Wrote:> In a daze, Silver had only caught the tail end of Miranda's conversation with Anson, but it seemed he had heard the important parts. He slid down his chair a little, slumping against the back of it. There was a drastic change in the demeanor of the young man who had come to be known for his boundless energy and endless enthusiasm. His voice was solemn, as he stared into the distant bottom of an empty tankard still in his hand. Maybe he was just a sleepy drunk. > > > > "If you hadn't heard, I'm retired from the fighting life... I suppose I'll be going back to my real job..."
Silver's emotions were practically strangling Sierra. She had literally ran into them in the lobby, and the empath had been horribly alarmed at what she had both seen and felt from her friend. She had cracked her shields open to get a better sense of him. There had been some initial relief as he seemed to perk back up, but she'd been watching him since she rejoined the group at the table and thinking of something. She had planned to wait and talk about it with him later-- but this-- THIS!
**- WHAM!-**
She slammed the empty tankard down on the table and pointed at Silver with a fiery gleam in her eye as she leaned across the table, and spoke up loudly;
"***OI!* Otouto**! THAT PHONE THING!! You said it could send mail?"
She would would stare at him so intensely, those almond shaped eyes seemed ablaze. It might begin to make him feel uncomfortable before before she finally broke the stare and blinked, her face breaking into a huge grin as she directed him matter of factly, "Send one now. To your boss. Saying you quit. You're going to come work for me."
Despite her smile, her tone was serious.
Maximos Dark Wrote:> The Crimson Hawk - 24th Floor| Maximos' Suite > > > > It moved. That jagged split across it's mid section tore open. Maximos saw easy over a hundred sharp thorny protrusions and jagged beams of light from it's world. It was like looking down a dimly lit bramble path, the creature roared a sound that nearly made his chest go numb with sheer intensity. Max caught a whiff of the smell of old compost, and then it shoved off it's many legs and ripped through the doorway directly at Maximos.
24 floors down, over the loud ruckus of a dining area full of people, a bar full of people; clatter in the kitchen; a live rock show and traffic out out on the street; her ears twitched and a shiver ran down her spine as she thought she heard a strange and primal noise, but she couldn't quite be sure in the midst of all this racket.
'What was that?'
She thought to herself. Had she even heard something? Besides that, this was the Crimson Hawk, there was usually something causing strange noises or making a racket going on; Business as usual right?
Still, the elven woman couldn't help but feel a little tense.
She wore it with a black bikini bottom and black thigh-high belted leggings that stretched against her powerful leg muscles. Steel-toed biker boots clicked impatiently as she folded her arms, reclining against the seat of her bike. Though she looked like like the leader of just another gang of marauding bikers, to her people, she was their queen.
