Crimson Hawk love shack - Before the ball
Oh Enness was treated to a nice view alright, between the view and Jay refusing to let go, it made having a semi-reasonable phone conversation with hotel staff just a little bit of a challenge, which was probably his partner’s intention.
The sudden shift in the little woman’s mood at his question left him confused enough that he didn’t really have the time to take in the phone no longer being in his hand, or the view as Jay climbed over his back like a god damned spider monkey after she essentially screamed into his ear.
So he stood there for a moment and just blinked while she started rummaging around before finally responding.
“Uhh… Kay?”
Slightly irked that their team bonding experience got cut short, he didn’t feel like arguing when she looked like she was about to skin a b***h, and admittedly he was at least somewhat curious as to why. Instead he just shrugged and went to one of his own bags. Unlike Jay’s that had various types of clothing, his was pretty much all the same. Pulling out one of the multiple sets of black long sleeve combat shirts and combat pants, he quickly got dressed.
Looking over at Jay, he quirked an eyebrow before sighing. Digging back into his bag he produced a zip up hoodie that strangely appeared to be closer to her size rather than his, almost as if he expected something like this, and threw it at her. It was getting cold and he’d rather avoid having to listen to complaining about such as much as he possibly could.
“At least try to conceal the fact you’re about to shank someone in the hotel, dear.”
As if to emphasize his point, he tucked one of his sidearms under his shirt before heading for the door.
4th Floor Hallway

Little did he know things were about to get a whole lot weirder.
The pair were walking down the hallway, just passing by a maid that just happened to be a catgirl, when Enness noticed the ears on top of her head twitch and her head turn to look down the hall directly behind them. Enness wouldn’t have paid it much mind, he was sure those ears heard all kinds of things in this hotel his own human ears wouldn’t be able to. She probably heard plenty from their own room earlier. But then he heard a roaring sound, quiet at first, though quickly getting louder. Very quickly.
Curiosity getting the better of him as it was often wont to do, he stopped, grabbing Jay by the back of the waistband on her shorts to indicate he was doing so, and after looking which way the catgirl maid was staring, moved towards a window. A window that was starting to rattle as the roaring sounded like it was getting closer until it was so loud the window shattered. He got to the window just in time to see a blur of black and blue go past, travelling at a rather high speed in a generally downwards direction, but instead of being peppered with glass shards, it almost seemed like they were sucked out with the blur.
Enness stuck his head out of the now windowless frame to see a puff of black smoke clear to show a rather well dressed man, along with a sheet of paper soaring like a leaf on the wind. Given what had a tendency to happen at the Crimson Hawk, it wouldn’t be surprising if the man had been overwhelmed by repair costs and given up on life. Except for the fact he suddenly seemed to start sliding down the building, slowing his fall until he came to a slow stop feet first on the pavement below.
“What the…”
Watching as the well dressed man looked like he was trying to grab at the door just before it closed to cut off sounds of dishes and pans rattling around, Enness pondered for a moment, then shrugged his broad shoulders and quickly headed for the stairwell.
"You can go find that stray Dan guy if you want. I'm gonna go see what the ******** that was about."
He quickly cast a glance back towards Jay before disappearing through the door leading to the stairs.
Now one might wonder why he didn’t just hop out the window. The reason was very simple: Enness was human, therefore such an act would have been incredibly stupid.
So the big man took the much more reasonable option, running down the few flights of stairs, moving his way through the kitchen acting like he belonged, until he reached a door, which opened with a firm push on the bar across it. If the tall, dark figure was still there, he would be greeted simply.
“You looked like you needed a hand with something.”
