1Lady Sierra

Her heart skipped a beat as he spun them around, and she wrapped her legs around his waist, her skirts and hair twirling about them in a crimson swirl. Cheeks flushed, Sierra drew back from their kiss her lips parted in a small 'o' of surprise as the heat leapt between them and her body shuddered against him with the sensation of it all. Her eyes swam a molten gold as the power shimmered between them, the very air wavering in the heat. The rising temperature around them echoing the raw promise in her eyes as she grinned at him.

"Mmmf!"

She pressed her forehead to his and was about to explain all about how they'd almost died riding in the metal carriage, when--

Garah Kirjearim Wrote:

> "Hold on, I am not done yet," said the shinobi. Then, he walked up to Vahn. Keeping his elbows in and holding his hands pronated at chest height, he took a pot shot at the Murmillion, throwing a light lead right at Vahn's head.

"I wouldn't do that if I were--!!!" Reiyvian's voice raised in alarm as she saw the man try to re-engage Vahn while he was distracted by his embrace with his wife.

"Spin me again." She breathed, her voice husky as her smile spread into something more mischievous.

If Vahn did as she asked without hesitation, the man whose fist was aimed at the face pressed next to hers, would see an incarnadine blur, as the elven woman moved with an inhuman agility and flexibility, spun around by the man whose waist she was anchored to, she would brace against Vahn's shoulders and swing her torso outward with considerable force as she snapped irritatedly at their aggressor,

*"RUDE!"*

And in the same instant, there would be a solid, yet wet sounding

**- CRACK! -**

As she brought her head around with her body and violently rocked forward and connected with his face. If he managed to catch a glimpse of her expression, her eyes were wide with excitement and her mouth was a crimson cut in her perfect porcelain face, grinning at him fiercely.

Simultaneously, her dexterous tail would wrap around the wrist of his outstretched arm. Yanking him with them; a sharp and painful tug as Vahn spun, she spun, he spun, they all spun~ aiming to carry him off balance before releasing him to stumble away.

"--you." Reiyvian sighed and shook her head.

"I give up! I swear to the Goddess! She's impossible!"

Sierra would watch him, keeping her eyes on the other man as she retorted with a frown that almost seemed like it was a smile,

"Do you mind?"

2Clash Fah

"Ouch!" Blood spurted from Garah's hemorrhaging nose as Sierra's forehead made contact with it, causing beautiful white sparks to blossom in the shinobi's vision. Her tail wrapped a-round his extended right arm before it could get to Vahn, and round and round he went until she released him. He stumbled back-ward, falling on his back in a heap of swollen musculature, using his hands to cover his face as emissions of crimson gore jetted through the cracks between his fingers. He rolled back and forth on the ground, holding his fresh wound in pain. Then, he rolled for-ward on-to his feet, stomping the ground. "Oh my God, that smarts!" he said, pumping his fists in-to the air. Using the back of his right forearm, he swiped at a rivulet of blood running from his nostrils over his mouth. "I am not yet sated."

Becoming pure electricity in bodily form, Garah took a run at Vahn and Sierra, attempting to use two hands to grab the end of her tail and squeeze it.

3Vahn Fah

Some people...

He couldn't help but stifle a snort of laughter as she used their momentum to stop the fighter; the guy obviously showed an inability to know when to call it quits. "Oi..." he called out, even as he continued to support Sierra about his waist. "You might want to take a raincheck on this one pal" he called out to the man....never cease to amaze.

Even as the fighter made his approach, with the Murmillion unphased by the sudden transformation the guy had taken, Vahn would stare the guy down intently. The temperature in the surrounding area seemed to skyrocket, resulting in a stifling pressure of thick heat pressing down on the man. To anyone looking, especially the approaching fighter, it would seem as if his eyepatch was gone and that left eye was there- fixing a look straight into the fighter's very spirit. It would carry with it an almost primal and animalistic sense of death. In the fighter's head it would seem as if he continued to approach, then he would more than likely meet an abrupt end. In his mind's eye, his very body (lightning and all) would feel as if it were being rendered into nothing but ash the closer he got.

Thanks to the Soul Bond Vahn and Sierra shared, the abilities between the two of them were amplified to frightening degrees when in proximity, even more so by their desire for one another. For any one person to attempt to take them both on by themselves was the height of foolishness and an easy ticket to the afterlife of one's choosing.

4Clash Fah

In the face of a death premonition sent him by Vahn, Garah merely thought weak so that he could have full confidence in his own capabilities going in-to combat.

He got down on all fours, scuttling to-ward Vahn like a hermit crab in order to avoid the stifling heat and pressure pressing down on him.

Then, the super soldier used two basket-ball-sized bare hands to attempt to grab the Murmillion by the calves and pull on his Achilles' tendons, trying to work his feet until he could grab him by the right hand and toss him over his right shoulder in a judo throw. Once he got him down, Garah would hold the knife edge of his right hand inches from his throat, rendering Vahn mere parsecs from death.

The Crimson Hawk Hotel | 23rd Floor | Maximos' Suite.

Jack opened the door to Maximos' suite holding six or seven huge bags full of HoH memorabilia from the gift shops downstairs. Everything he could get his hands on from action figures, to decorative socks.

"You know not believe the stuff they go--" Jack stopped cold and dropped all of his bags and frozen in place. Max turned from his spot on the couch at the sound and just looked at Jack with a confused pair of mismatched eyes. In the dark room, the television's light almost made Max look like he was glowing. He didnt say anything he just stared.

"I - um. I didnt know that you did..." Jack's eyes hit the floor, looking at his fallen bags glued to anywhere but up.

"Well, I do." Max said curtly. Reaching up to pause the television. "It's for...research.

"That is what you watch for research?!"

"Is that a problem?"

"N-no...I just...dont mind me." Jack said nervously scooping up his bags, letting a few items spill on the ground. A worthy sacrifice to escape.

"Quite." Max add, and without another word Jack scurried for the door to his room. "Oh, Jack!" Max called out. Jack froze in place feeling fear and general discomfort creep up his spine like an icy hand. "Does this one look familiar? This one in the silver. I feel like I know him." Max gestured a hand toward the TV. Jack slowly turned around knowing Max's eyes were on him and caught a glimpse of the screen before immediately frowning.

"No Max, geez. I dont watch that s**t." He said, Max shrugged.

"Well, if it upsets you so much, knock next time."

"I live - god, nevermind. Your such a ******** wierdo."

And then Jack vanished into his room and shut the door behind him. He barely got his bags on the bed before the music from what Max was watching started up, seeping through the thin hotel rooms like an infection followed shortly by singing.

Connor’s view of Melech was blocked as Jake stepped up, like he’d be able to stop him if...

“Easy bro.”

Connor blinked, “Jake? Hey…!” And Zandra was stepping up beside him now, the hammer was tossed to the side, “Guys! I’m not going to rip his—Izzy!?”

Quote: Wrote:

> The overwhelming sense of panic and shame continued overwhelmed her and finally, the punker turned slightly away from everyone and bent over.

The wave of emotion from the punker rocked him like a blow and as the bile came up he felt sympathetic flutters in his gut and a lump form in his own throat for very different reasons. His voice came out as a croak. “Ah ********, Izzy!” But that didn’t do his reaction justice. It was the kind of black he bled when the things inside rattled their cages. Connor made to step forward away from Jake and Zandra and past Melech then froze and stared as the devil turned, tending to Izette. His nostrils flared at the smell of ichor and everything, and everyone, else in the shop.

*XXXXXMelech. His face wavers in Connor’s mind. The devil wears a miasmic cloak that hides him from Connor and burns his nose, yet it stirs the Worm to hunger; Connor chokes on the stench.

XXXXXZandra. Tough and rugged, she feels of dirt and grease. A shadow stretches behind her, the familiar figure of a woman loved; Connor’s tongue is slick with oil, or perhaps his heart has leapt to his mouth.

XXXXXJake.Young and human, but not. Izzy’s cousin. In his wake he carries the scent of sleepless nights and kitchen cooking; Connor watches a woman flipping cards and sees his face in them bleeding ink.

XXXXXAnd finally, Izzy. ‘Izette Pretzel’. Cold rage simmering in cigarette smoke as she marches through doors with deadly intent, yet numb. Promises broken? Kept? Her shame and loss is a black hole that tugs him violently in; Connor wants to take the leap.*

And floating above it, the scent of old gods wafting from that bloody bag. Already fading as Melech removed the knife. Connor feels the gaze of Voss and his ever changing eye boring into his mind, so interested in the events.

  • - - - - -

Something in his mind clicked and memories rushed in. He didn’t pause to consult them; they washed over him like a flood. Mel, it was Mel! Why the ******** did he feel like assaulting him? Melech, Izzy’s lover...Melech in the dreamscape, drawn by Mnem, her manipulations and Connor’s...his…

Kroww

Mind snapped back to the present, his eyes brightened to gold. A tired nod. “...Melech.” An explosive breath out, Connor hadn’t realized he’d been holding it.

“Yeah, sorry. I uh...didn’t recognize your other face for a moment.”

“Okayyy. I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve had my fill of crazy for one day. Mel, Jake, would you guys mind meeting us at the Crimson Hawk? I’ll take that ride. C’mon.” Zandra took his arm and with a somewhat confused nod Connor let her pull him away, until Mel spoke up again. Damn, how did I almost forget he was there? The hell is going on here?

"Afraid not, love. I have to speak with him. Isn’t that right, Connor?”

Unspoken, Mel’s intentions struck Connor like a slap in the face. *Oh, you [********] There was a flare of the Carapace through his eyes, a flush on his face that was the briefest display of annoyance. “He’s right Zandra. Dammit, you should go with, help Izzy out. I can be there in a tick...or meet you in Latent if you guys leave first.”

He was concerned even if he wasn’t showing it well at first. Then again Connor had always been reserved with his friends, was tough to open up but he’d always be there...when he was around. Maybe that guilt of not being here this time around was getting to him.

“There’s something Mel and I have to talk about, hopefully we have some answers for you guys...and for Izzy.”*

8Lady Sierra

Things were heating up. Literally. The air surrounding Vahn and Sierra was hotter than any desert, trying to get near would have all the effect of throwing oneself into a crematory oven.

Reiyvian's eyes widened as she felt the temperature spike and the deadly heat come rushing out. Throwing her hands out in reaction, the high priestess and healer threw up a shield to protect the gentleman who had been escorting them, and anyone else in the parking lot uninvolved in this complete lunacy. A wall of shimmering magick cast a golden glow, as it looked like vines of light formed a barrier a woven wall creating a safe perimeter, leaving only Vahn, Sierra and the stranger at the center, isolated in the would be inferno.

"Seriously?!"

Her eyes would flick to the Blazestar employee, "I don't know who is in charge, but you might want to go get them and do something about this. I can't guarantee things aren't going to get out of control..."

"You mean this isn--"

"You haven't seen anything yet." Her tone was somber and lacked any hint of humor. The words were a matter of fact warning.

The man swallowed hard. This has turned from entertaining to serious too quickly. There was too much collateral at stake. This wasn't a properly fitted arena that could handle this level of combat and keep it's audience safe, this was a busy city street. They wanted publicity for the return of HoH; but headlines about a civilian body count wasn't the kind of PR they were after.

The Blazestar employee took off running, fishing a walkie talkie out of his pocket while he ran.

SHHK-- "We have a situation!"

Unchecked Twitch Wrote:

"Oi..."

Sierra said with some surprise as the man seemed to ignore Vahn's warning and start moving towards the pair once more. She was starting to have some genuine concern about his well being--'Is he TRYING to get himself killed? Does he WANT to die?'

He began moving more rapidly-- to some it might have felt fast, but to her keen elven eyes she had no trouble tracking his movements and ponder the seeming desperation of the pitiful being before her.

A voice sounded in her head, devoid of the sympathy and concern she was feeling;

'If he wants to die so badly, you should grant him his wish. Put him out of his misery and end this wretched desperation.'

'No Ra'kar...' She sighed inwardly with some exasperation at the demoness.

'Suit yourself; you always were a hopeless bleeding heart. But clearly you'd be doing him a kindness.'

Fissures spread outward, fracturing the pavement as the demoness fell silent, and Sierra watched him push himself on all fours towards them-- The anger in her eyes was replaced with a deep and sorrowful pity. Vahn had tried to warn him, the combined heat emanating from the two of them wasn't just for show. Not only had the air around them become too hot to endure, but the asphalt around them was starting to melt in intensity of the heat. The tars running and beginning to boil as the road line paint began to distort and blur as the street around them started turning to a thick tarry bog and small pockets of flames began springing up as the ground began combusting.

He would have to cross that terrain to get anywhere near them. Was he willing to leave his flesh in a blistering and molten mess of ruin to try? It had seemed like he was transforming again-- his hands seemed... larger? Just more flesh to lose as it would melt from his bones like wax if he insisted in gambling with his life.

"Don't do it." She said under her breath from where she was perched at Vahn's waist, her legs still wrapped around his middle.

"I don't think he's okay Vahn... something is wrong with him..."

"Handle it please, you were trained for 'situations.' The Suits only have so much authority and power here, and that's why local authorities exist."

Response.

"Are you... are you kiddingme?"

Response.

"Fine, scramble the Suits down to contain the area. Don't call the GPD yet, we should be able to handle this well enough."

Her hand off the walkie's talk button, D' groaned loudly to the ceiling. This type of thing wouldn't have been tolerated in the past... no, the Judges would have intervened and if not them, Creation and the Gamma/u units. But as noted to the employee, Blazestar had trained its members for this sort of thing, and so the response would be immediate. From various locations around the hotel they would come, ladies and gentlemen and those of indistinguishable gender, humans and elf and beast-person and half-devil and half-Chozo, to the entrance and the street beyond. All twenty were armed with black batons, a quarter with specialized rifles with a thick, green tube running from the back end to a pouch hidden on the rear of their belt loops. None dared get too close to the melee that was quickly growing out of hand, but all of Blazestar's security personnel-- the "Suits"--stood moved into position many safe feet away. Those carrying the rifles held them at ready, but did not aim. Two lines had been drawn with their bodies: one curved line containing the melee, and a straight one separating everything from the Hotel itself.

"Okay, okay, hold the Hell up, you guys!" The words weren't directed at the Suits, but the couple and the man assaulting them. Twitch ran out of the front doors with a hand in the air, trying to get their attention. The lines parted and rejoined as she passed, and Twitch dared to approach the three making a hell of a ruckus. Immediately did she feel the heat rise with every step she took, but so would all three of them feel Twitch's aura of Calm, one that would hopefully begin to lessen the aggression. She carefully sidestepped lines and wet tar, a hand still up as she tried to get their attention. D' eventually stopped walking forward when she was about seven feet away... the oven in front of her was only barely bearable.

"Mr. Vahn, Mr... Clash, correct?... and my lady," petitioned D', "can I kindly ask you three to end your fight here, and maybe save some of that for the tournament? We'll soon have areas set up for exhibition and free matches, but... it's just not here and now."

The asphalt a-round him cracked and shimmered with heat, popping and exploding in gouts of fire and sparks. Bathed in flame and ash, the half Iflyte never felt so much at home. As his skin blackened and charred, his lips pulled back from his metal teeth in a snarl. Where a lesser man's skin might burn a-way in the intense heat generated by the couple, Garah possessed a brown body made of tougher stuff, including an armor plated pectoralis majoralis, fingers like steel rods, a barn door back and rock-like biceps brachii, elevator cable legs, cannon ball shoulders, a steel wire neck, a ram's horn scalp and a bullet proof abdominal wall. In other words, despite the discomfort it caused him, he could take the heat generated by Vahn and Sierra, and respond in kind. The asphalt beneath the Suits exploded up-ward. Using one meat-hook of an arm, Kirjearim tossed a robust fire-ball at D'. "Welcome to the party."

Twitch's upraised hand moved forward to the flung fireball, the Tear of the Fallen beneath her left eye beginning to change color from black to purple. With it, a wave of black and purple flames leapt from her arm to her fingertips, coalescing into a fireball that collided with Garah's. The splash damage from their meeting was nothing compared to what was already happening, but D' leaned her head away from it all the same.

"I...okay. Bubbles, wake Lazenca. Egami Evitagen."

The attacking hand moved to the middle of her chest, fingertips pointing skyward at an angle, as her free hand moved below. Together, the hands seemed as if they were cupping something. Simultaneously with this action did lines begin to form on the ground beneath them, spreading outward rapidly even as they spun around her. Her Calm faded, replaced by soft singing as her body lifted a foot from the ground.

show spoilerhide spoilerEXSpecial: Egami Evitagen – Tapping into her Tear of the Fallen and all of the powers it represents, Twitch temporarily switches the elemental planes' alignment, reversing the elements – fire looks like fire, but reads as water and is thus unusable by anyone using fire abilities. Only if an attack is switched to fire can she manipulate it, and depending on the situation, it may actually appear as fire. However, note that this “Dramatic Effect” applies only to the affected attack rather than the field or magical field effect, and Egami Evitagen will not cause any immediately damaging field effects. For example, in an arena where Dark is the latent element, EE temporarily switches the latent element to Light. While this will surely make demons and vampires frown because it will be like fighting on hallowed grounds, it will not make them begin to burn on the spot. Likewise, switching a forest’s Terra alignment to Lightning will not turn the ground into a lightning net.

The technique does not switch what a person is able to control, only what the elements on the field are. Twitch will always stick to what reads as fire, a cryomancer would always stick to what reads as ice/water, and a typical priest would always stick to what reads as light; and if they are able to control open fire/ice/electricity, a zone switch would allow them to do so. Assuming the field/attack switches favorably for her and becomes temporarily fire-aligned, Dramatic Effect is fully active and enhanced, changing the appearance of the arena and D’ will not incur any cost for manipulation of an opponent’s attack or open flames. The elemental plane opposites are as follows: Fire / Water; Lightning / Terra; Light / Dark; Air / Non-elemental (Chi, Spirit). Sub-elements such as Ice, Void, and Steel will be classified into appropriate approximate elements depending on the attack affected.

No matter the result of elemental zone switches, Egami Evitagen’s activation is very visible and audible, a large magical circle's individual shapes and characters spinning on the ground around her with a 40 yard radius; singing can also be heard. Twitch's general maneuverability increases as she regains shredded, ethereal wings that increase her land speed by hovering a foot over the ground, causing direct-ground attacks to pass beneath her unless she is pointedly standing on the ground. In addition, Fireball's siphon effect automatically takes 1/3rd of an opponent's energy.

"Attack me again, and you're likely to be eaten. I have a tournament to fund, and you're becoming expensive to deal with."

In the background, an android was calling a friend who was much more used to fighting people in insane circumstances. It wasn't in Bubbles' nature to sound worried for her rather capable boss, but she did impress upon the person on the other side of the phone that Vahn was present (not that what was happening was his fault), and President Aire was about to fail at damage control.

“Sir I implore you to reconsider! It's just a petty squabble! Hardly worth your intervention!”

The Commander knew the Ensign meant well. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred, his voice of pragmatic counsel was welcome. Yet this-

“I already have, Ensign.”

THIS was that one percent.

The steel corridors echoed both the words and footsteps of the two men as they made their way towards the room affectionately named: “The Express Elevator”.

“For the past seven years I have sat here and-” The Commander paused as his gaze aimed downward at the Ensign who was about a foot and a half his lesser. “Why do I even need to exposit? You know very well what we've been doing up here! Or rather, NOT doing.”

“Yes sir, of course I do, sir!” The Ensign always found it awkward speaking to his superior face-to-face as they were. The Commander's remarkably unremarkable features were usually shrouded beneath his helm. The very helm he now carried under his right arm. It was only during their hiatus that he had taken to not wearing the thing. His helm was a tool of intimidation, and until now he had no need for it. With the newest edition of Heaven Or Hell looming over the horizon, he saw fit to bring it out of retirement. “I am just concerned, sir. It has been a while since your last bout. What if you hurt them?”

“Ensign...” The Commander cracked a smile.“I'd be concerned if I didn't hurt them.”

He ascended the array of stairs leading to what looked like platform elevated above a trap door. “Prepare to beam me down! On my Mark!”

“Sir, you know that's not how this works!”

The Commander cared not for such petty details. He flipped his helmet into both hands and stared inside. It's been long. Too long. “NOW!” With the most dramatic of timing, he donned his helm as the platform gave way.

13Maximos

The Crimson Hawk Hotel | Streetside | Hotel Entrance

Maximos zoomed down crowded Durem sidewalk without a care in the world. Beneath him he could feel the raw power of the machine he had just purchased. The sales person had told called it a beast and claimed it would make him feel young and powerful again. Now, whooshing through the crowds, Max had no reason to believe the man was a liar. He did feel like young. And powerful. And like a beast.

Ahead of him people cleared a lazy path. Some protested, some laughed, others looked around for cameras. From behind him Max could hear the thawp, thwap, thawp of hurried feet. No one noticed him approaching the Hawk, the beast beneath him was entirely silent. Attentions were turned toward another scene, something unfolding in the center. Perfect. He had seen this in a thousand episodes. He was going to ride this beast directly into the front door of the Crimson Hawk and up to his room. It was going to be amazing. This beast beneath him, this fountain of power was but a seed. He would make stronger, better, and this would be it's start. It's blazing red spotlight burning a page in history.

And then, distracted by the events happening on the curb and the sight of not only Vahn Fah but also Sierra, and the President of Blazestar - Jack stopped pushing. Maximos was completely ignorant to this and the motorcycle drifted ahead on solely it's own momentum, racing toward the first front step of the hotel at the blazing speed of 1 mph. Max wore the wide eyed and gleeful expression of a man about to perform the absolute sickest of tricks in front of an audience.

One of the hotel employees stepped forward to say something to Max or maybe help, another recognized the blue haired man on the scarlet beast and grabbed his coworkers arm and then shook his head. The first employee stopped and turned his attention back to the fight. The front tire of the motorcycle impotently struck the first step of the Crimson Hawk landing and came to a halt, Max followed the instructions the salesman had given and squeezed the brakes even though the motorcycle had already come to a stop.

It immediately fell over. Along with the man atop it. Hearing the crash Jack shoved his way through the crowd in time to see Max, dusting off his pants and jacket standing beside the fallen motorcycle and pieces of cracked red and white fiberglass and plastic dotting the sidewalk. The bike's windshield had a huge jagged V shaped crack in it.

"This thing is really dangerous!" Max proclaimed catching Jack's eye. Though he looked more impressed than anything else. Jack took a moment to fully accept that his employer had just tried to ride motorcycle that wasnt even on into a crowded hotel - and just just stared at Max. A long, deep, soul searching stare. "Now I understand how the masked riders use it to defeat their enemies!"

"Are...are you kidding me right now?" He said after a long moment. He meant the words to sound angry, but this was Max. This was the man he worked for. The man who offered him a ridiculous amount of money to push this bike down the street for three blocks so he could test it. Jack's words came across more exasperated than anything else and were punctuated with a sigh. "It's not even on..."

"Not now, it's resting. Help me get it inside."

"No it was never...nevermind." Max replied with a single oblivious nod and then reached into his jacket and pulled out a fist sized bag and handed it to Jack. It clinked and jingled as it landed in his hand.

"Always a pleasure Jack." He said with a grin.

"I hate you..." Jack mumbled beneath his breath in reply. And then, completely embarrassed right next to some of the coolest people on Gaia, Jack did exactly what he was told.

[Latent - Crimson Hawk Roof: Kael]

This is really what you miss?

The air was clear, windy, this high up. The smoke didn't have any chance to linger, cigarette almost whipped from his lips a few times as he folded a page across the back of the clipboard, pen lightly scratching at the next one up, and the buds near-hidden in either ear struggled to keep up with the bass beats demanded of them. It was a lot of noise, indulging some bad habits so he wouldn't be tempted to work, quite literally, over the balcony and just sit in thought. This damn place was still loaded with mixed feelings and memories for him. And yet, just walking inside the Hawk a few hours ago... he'd felt that surge, that excitement for just a moment. But the alien feeling and exhilaration hadn't lasted. It was still extravagant, but he wasn't exactly some homeless broke pushing in faces on TV so he could eat anymore. It just didn't feel the same anymore.

And yet, some things got drilled so deep into you they never came out. All the way up top, he could feel the warm updraft, see the glow below, and feel the tiny rumbles in the handrail. It was enough to kick up his pulse, and bring his eyes down to the indistinct figures, barely more than a large dot of color each from above. The show hadn't even started yet, and somebody was causing trouble. And likely, as ever, some other hotblooded body with too much power had seen and decided that the solution was to escalate and create as much collateral as possible. Or, maybe, just a personal dispute.

Wasn't like it mattered much to the regular folks why they lost out.

But no matter if he loved or hated it, there was still that rush just feeling it. One corner of the scarred face scrunched, an uneven smile as he tried to force reminiscing aside and finish his paperwork. Rayner wasn't here to put on a stage name and chase that high, put himself through the ringer and see how far he could go. Or, he wasn't supposed to be. No, this was about investment and marketing. Keeping his profits high and avoiding employment cuts. More personally, Cel and the kids had arrived well over an hour ago, and by now they'd probably eaten and exhausted even Serafina's interest in all the memorabilia and little homages to previous years of bloodsport in the lower floors of the Hawk. By this point, maybe even letting the kids run amok in the suite until they could get over the excitement of a new place and exploring all its corners.

He looked back to the paper, scratching a bit at his notepad before signing, and turning another page. Rushing a bit, maybe, he skimmed the pages and got through the slog as best he could, lingering well after the squabble below was over, ignoring that little hungry feeling in his heart and the lingering sense of something... familiar. There were people he needed to give permission to get off their hands, or tell not to do something, or schedule more dedicated talks with. The pages dwindled down to nothing as the light started to turn orange, then fade, dusk crawling in across the sea in the distance, past the cityscape from his perch above it all. With a sigh, he stopped the music, packing it up, and sent a text for his secretary to meet him by the elevator so they could get it all off and finish up fast

He didn't want to miss bedtime again.

Using xenomancy and the divine embodiment with-in him to sense and under-stand the basis of D's confusion of the elemental planes' alignment, Garah knew how to improvise his abilities to match those of D's to at least some extent. By merely reversing the effect of D's spell, Garah achieved planar realignment on the field of battle. Back-pedaling quickly, Garah hasted to his sword, using his right hand to pull it out of the earth. Roaring loudly, he charged head-long in-to battle at sixty-six percent energy, leading with his left fist.
