Heaven or Hell: RE-Union - Round 6

Team D.A.T.A.S.S. vs. Team Retribution

Bloodwater Mists // Corruption Era

General - A 100ft x 100ft circular region of downright terrible watermarsh.

The water itself is at a lovely 125° F; within five-six minutes, third degree burns would set in. Comfortable. Of course, multi-thousands of fat sluglike, dark black leeches that would immediately begin sinking into every bit of exposed flesh and attempt to bite through your clothing would be noticeable.

If that doesn't seem comforting enough, the bedding of this area is made of extremely smooth stone; due to the buoyancy of this water, movement isn't impeded at all. One can maneuver as though they were on land.

Off in the near-yet-so-far distance, some monkey creature keeps howling. It is legitimately painful, and you can to your surprise, feel your ears begin to irritate into injury.

The entire area is foggy, creating 50% vision conditions.

Finally, of what you can see of the sky, .. it is to your growing dread, for the sky is colored a particularly ominous mixture of black and green.

Weapons - Leeches, if you feel grabbing leeches is particularly intelligent. You can also splash the boiling hot water you're submerged into at your opponent. Sky's the limit. Also, there are small bonsai trees of two feet in height growing along the “edge” of the traversable water. They are easily uprooted. When removed, these create a 60’ diameter wave of screaming, as they are some deformed cousin of mandragora of ye olde lore. There are eight of these in total: NW, N, NE, etc for every major direction on a compass.

Natural Element Resource - Water, stone.

Bonus Effects - - - - - - - - -

Time - Night

Weather - Light Rain

James's narrrator hung around, somewhat tired and fed up with lack of progress in four other fights.

But maybe this one would've different.

He'll take everybody on.

Jinsoku didn't know why this time would be any different, though he was glad to have the experience regardless. Clearing his throat, he inhaled thoughtfully; "Master, what if we just fought each other?"

5Dr Queensborough

"Really? We're fighting here?" Arthur asked rhetorically, his body partially submerged in the water. His black shirt, red tie, and black slacks were totally soaked and clung to his form just like the black velvet robe that hung from his broad shoulders. The water was hot and incredibly uncomfortable and vermin bit into his clothing. The mutant was going to have to end things quickly here.

"So which one of you wants to fight?" He asked the opposing team, prepared for either of the competitors.

((Sorry for the wait, my dudes. Rehab post-surgery has been a bit of a b***h, but I'm here finally.))

Considering how disgusting this place was, Jinsoku approached Arthur with obvious discomfort on his face. Sloshing through the murky waters unhindered, and widely ignoring the vermin clinging to his mostly exposed legs and feet. Running shorts and a white tee was a little under-dressed for this environment obviously.

"Alright, let's have it. Give me your best shot, otherwise we can settle things in an easier, quicker method. Either way, we won't be here long."

"My best shot is coming right up," Arthur announced with a dastardly grin plastered on his face. His stance widened in some mockery of kung fu, submerging his lead right hand in the water as it hung at his side while his left hand cupped the water's surface at the rear. The mutant took long strides towards Jinsoku, bursting into an attack attempt as he neared five feet. His left hand rushed forward, skimming the heated water as he splashed it towards his opponent's face (mostly eyes). Though an adequate attack on its own, it wasn't the mainstay of Arthur's assault. The main assault occurred below the surface of the murky water.

The mage shaped his obscured right hand into the proper hand seal and his spell was unleashed. Without a telegraphed motion, Arthur's arm began to stretch and slither at the wrist, growing longer and delving deeper into the water as it stretched towards Jinsoku. Using the splashing water as a smokescreen of sorts, the mage's right hand swam the short distance between the pair in a flash, attempting to grab onto Jinsoku's left ankle with a serpentine grip.

Two limbs (either both arms or both legs) can be stretched up to an extra five feet in length. The subject of the stretching spell moves swiftly like a snake lashing out at prey, and that speed along with changes to the limb’s weight increases the power of attacks by 50%. Arthur’s grip strength (and the ability to constrict objects by wrapping his limb around them) is also enhanced while this spell is in effect. Alternatively, the stretched limb can be used as a grapple hook, letting the Black Mage to pull himself towards heavier objects while easily pulling and manipulating objects 50 lbs or lower towards Arthur. This (potentially) 50lbs object can be hurled by Arthur like an improvised slingshot, or even used as a mace if the Mage continues gripping it.

Jin's left side shifted to the lead as his arms raised into a boxer's guard. Though his opponent obscured the view of his hands, Jinsoku remained calm and confident. His narrowed charcoal eyes watched him as best they could, and his electrolocation granted him extra sensory perception, leaving Arthur rather clear to his sight beyond side. Especially in this water. When Arthur began his assault, Jinsoku did not expect the man to splash him in the face with this hot s**t water. Though the fact that he didn't brandish a weapon, nor did it host any abnormalities that he could tell of, was enough for Jin to go on the offensive himself!

The water was likely a bit hotter to his opponent than it was to himself, regardless, his moving body allowed the water to splash his lower face and chest as he grimaced, rising from the waters as he launched forth in a right flying knee. Whether he slammed his brawny leg knee first into Arthur's chin, or he blocked it, then Jin would follow up with a right elbow strike to the tippy top of his dome piece. If he dodged it, Jinsoku would react accordingly to the best of his ability. While his sensory abilities wouldn't have been keen enough to sell out the Michael Jordan Space Jam arm without first falling victim to it thanks to it's speed. Though it seemed his attack ironically served as a lucky response to the true attack Arthur had in mind.

show spoilerhide spoiler+.] [Passive] - Resistance: Jinsoku is 50% resistant to electric shock and it's effects. He is also 25% resistant to heat/fire as a result of his electric affinity.

+.] [Passive] - Electrolocation: Jinsoku is extra sensitive to even the slightest electromagnetic fields and pulses. He is able to feel these vibrations and discern them to a clarity akin to how he perceives the world with his usual five senses; if not better. This ability is best when compared to echolocation in species such as dolphins.

Arthur gritted his teeth as he felt the telltale signs of motion. From the reverberations in the water as his right arm stretched towards Jinsoku, to the sloshing on the surface as Jin's body rose from it in his leap. The mage expected a bit more tentativeness from his opponent, though he had to admit that there was a certain desperation in their situation. The mage's sense of smell was shot in the hellish landscape of the marshland; a putrid environment that forced his nose to fill with mucus. His vision was greater than the average human but it still found itself quite obstructed in the steam that rose from the marsh. Fortunately, the mutant could rely upon his sense of touch and his sharp ears; the movement of the water gave the mage a vague warning of what was to come, and was swift to move as Jin and his poised knee came into view.

As Jinsoku leaped forth, the mutant pushed off his feet and leaped backwards, allowing the buoyancy of the water to carry him out of range of his opponent's flying knee. However, thanks the the mage's arms, Arthur was still very much in range and had every intention of delivering the hurt. While he retreated, Arthur began to reel back his right arm, though not fully as the intention wasn't to return his arm to its natural place but rather to double back and recommence the attack on Jin who had jumped past his gripping hand. The mutant's arm curved like a hook, aiming to latch onto the back of Jin's left calf. If he managed to succeed, Arthur would tug hard on Jin's leg, aiming to throw his opponent off balance and immobilize him even if for a moment.

For a moment was all Arthur needed! His feet skidded on the smooth stone at the end of his retreat and turned his hips to the right as he swung his left hand in a hook. Normally, he would have been out of reach with the normal length of his arm. But at a paltry distance of five feet, his right arm didn't have to extend so much to reach Jinsoku in the first place. The mage had some extra rope to play with. Arthur's left arm stretched preternaturally, moving in an unnatural curved trajectory as the mutant's punch moved underneath Jin's guard, and aiming to collide against the lower portion of his right ribcage. If it landed. the blow would be thunderous, aided by the added weight in snakelike muscle mass and its force hopefully directed precisely as Arthur attempted to jam his fist in the crevice underneath his floating rib. Specifically, he aimed to transmit that force directly into Jin's liver.

Regardless of the outcome, Arthur's arms would begin to retract, losing their serpentine qualities as they returned to their normal selves.

Regardless of the continued grab attempt, one thing was certain. Jinsoku's knee would not reach it's target thanks to him leaping back. Extending his arm, Jin felt the opponent's hand secure it's grasp on his left brawny calf. Sure he effects Jin's balance mid attack, though the attack he was now initiating wouldn't find it's hindered by Arthur's grab. Yoki released from his core and rushed through his extended right arm before exiting the gun fingers at the end of it! A bolt of lightning arched from him, aimed for Arthur's torso. If this failed to stop his follow up punch, surely the punch would lack the luster previously intended. Unless of course Arthur was immune to the effects of electric shock whilst bathing in one of it's greatest conductors. Regardless of the outcome, Jinsoku landed from his ascent with his form splashing harshly into the hot pool of water around them. Jinsoku used the disturbance of the water splashing Arthur's upperbody as his arms retracted as a distraction, swiftly following up his landing with a leg sweep. Unimpeded by the water and the resistance one would think it would have, the sweep with his right leg carried the same impressive nature it would on land. Fast and strong. He wouldn't doubt that he could knock a tree over in a single kick, granted he surely had his limits on just how large a tree would have to be to endure.

The bolt is faster at approximately 100 mph, the orb maxing out at 75 mph. (Instantaneous use, 2 Post Cooldown)

The mutant grinned wolfishly when he felt his first grip wrap itself around Jinsoku's calf. His body reacted almost instantaneously, turning his hips and bringing his left arm forth in a devastating hook. In an ideal world, he would have struck his opponent and floored him without effort. However, no tactic survived first contact with the enemy, and his play with his arm-lengthening spell was no different. His eyes bulged in surprise, sensing the sudden build up of energy within Jin, and knowing that there was nothing he could do to dodge him. Certainly not at Arthur's current juncture, his whole body committed to the liver shot.

In an instant, the arching bolt struck Arthur in the dead center of his torso. It burnt his clothes and flesh, and sent waves of electrifying energy throughout every inch of his body. Arthur's muscles went spastic, contracting tightly and forcing the mage to grit his teeth. Though successful in landing his attack, Jinsoku only managed to smother the force behind the mutant's punch minorly. Despite the pain that the mage was undeniably feeling, there was nothing the lightning bolt could do against Arthur's momentum which was still carrying his fist into Jin's ribs, especially since his opponent did little to intercept the attack directly.

With his hairs standing on-end and his body aching, the mage held his ground as Jin landed and his arms returned to their original size. He wanted to take the fight back to his opponent, but he managed to beat him to the punch. Arthur raised his left leg and turned his shin to the outside, causing both of their shins to collide with a massive impact, but leaving neither fighter worse for wear. In that moment, the mage wanted to counter attack, but infernal howling from the periphery made his ears ring painfully.

What's up with this place? Arthur thought as he began to backpedal away from Jin instead.
