Rou's expression dropped, her mouth thinning into a slim line. "Is that all they think of me?" she thought. Her lips pursed as she shifted from one cheek to the other, brow rumpled with a little more than mild annoyance. As Ferris' body changed from one posture to another, lounging in the dirt road like Cleopatra on her divan, he wasn't hiding the dagger-sized spear in his hand. He was using tactics she often used, poking at her opponent's pride until they gave way to rage-- though, she had to admit she was a little bristled.

**"Contrary to popular opinion, I don't like to kick a man while he's down,"** she answered bitterly, a brief moment to consider her recent exchange with Jin at the Heaven or Hell Ball. She'd tried to placate him with honeyed words, say all the sweet things he wanted to hear, but he'd seen straight through it; only telling him the truth because she had to. Rou was hardly better than the token heartbreaker or harlot, but she didn't enjoy ruining peoples' lives for no reason.

If Rou got too close, she knew he'd just fly away; and was able to avoid her ranged attacks with more ease than she'd liked. She'd have to get close in order to really hit hard.

Rou kept her eyes on him, and trailed her hand down her voluptuous thigh, to the top of her boot that lay just beneath her knee. Just within, she slipped a thin, silver knife from its sheath, sobered in her concentration. As she resumed her height, the balls of her feet grounded into the dirt and ready to move.

**"Men always want to come together, or some romantic drivel like that," she teased with a wry grin, holding the knife by the tips of her fingers as she leaned back for a telegraphed throw. "Letting a lady come first? What a gentleman."**

She threw the knife like a pitch, a mild spin causing it to dart through the air towards his chest, where he lounged on the ground. Ferris was a fast one, she knew, who would likely dodge, causing it to half-stick out of the dirt. Her feet pushed off to launch at Ferris, watching for where he'd move, bounding quickly with the strides of her muscled legs.

She followed him, as he'd skirt along the ground by use of his flight, gritting her teeth ferociously. Rou stopped hard on her right leg, as the left was carried by the momentum, sweeping to punt Ferris' chest like a soccer ball.

In an imagined timeline long forgotten, Ferris had a similar move to what he was about to do anyways. As she threw the knife Ferris body would suddenly slide towards Rou without actually changing position. He would still essentially be laying on the ground, but now shoved much closer to Rou. The dagger would go straight over Ferris body. And as he slid forward on the ground like some sort of noclipping hacker in a video game, he would readjust his hand holding the extending spear-dagger. Quickly flipping it around so the sharp end pointed down and behind his sliding body, then activating it's power to rapidly extend.

The spear head would thrust into the ground, and force the rest of it's length to grow from the shaft of the spear, a solid wood beam shooting directly at Rou's stomach. Between Ferris speed, Rou's forward momentum, and the extending spear, he hoped for a clean and very solid hit. He also hoped that by suddenly going straight inside of her range and closer to her than her expected kick target, she wouldn't have time for a proper setup of the kick, and avoid that.

*st!!!*

I**t appeared that his right foot had expired the one use he had been hoping to squeeze out of it. That tumble he took before winding up where he was now did well to twist and throttle his damaged limb enough to take any remaining hope out of it. Despite this, Jinsoku was certain than three limbs was enough to survive with. If it was enough for that, it was enough to finesse a victory out of a competition.

**"!"

T**he opponent deviated from their natural path of travel. While that was worrisome, it seemed that someone or something was trying to get the jump on him! Unseen was always only half the issue to Jinsoku than it was to the average person. The sword being the largest threat suddenly, albeit poorly executed. Well, perhaps the strike was well executed, rather the culprit clearly hadn't seen the bulk of the fight before trying to intervene. If he had he would have chose a different, probably better method of attack.

Electrical Yoki flooded his body once more, giving him a temporary boost for a third time in what was relatively not a long time apart to any degree of the word. Jinsoku could feel the increasing strain on the muscle. He could use this move in such a repetitive manner at this rate for two, maybe three more times before his muscle tissue would begin tearing apart. His ridiculous gains and definition showcased first hand poor bodily care and persistent use of one's body. This tournament, this opponent being no exception to his intense life style.

Jumping, again, with increased speed Jinsoku skillfully, narrowly evaded the blade, his ruined foot remaining lifted through the process to ensure a lack of consolation prizes. Had the opponents attack not been so low, or Jinsoku been of lesser adequacy, it wouldn't have been so easy to evade. Simultaneously, he torqued his body to the left, giving his armored side to Kae first. While repeated close quarters combat hadn't yet inspired the opponents thorns to eject again, he was well prepared for such a thing to happen this time. Even if it meant letting them stab him just to be able to grab her!

As soon as she made physical contact with him, the Knight activate a second ability with the expiration of the first. Continued to push Yoki throughout his body, more bust through him in a torrent! The electricity expelled through his body allowing it to crackle and arc all over his body. His normally charcoal eyes glowed a brilliant blue, a testament to an upping of the voltage. While upping the amps would prove more fatal, Jinsoku was mindful this tournament was one where death is not allowed.

While it was true that wood was in fact a poor conductor and a great insulator, a high enough voltage of electricity could certainly pass through layers of wood. With his opponent's thin layer of wood, with an exposed back that found connection as he continued to wrap his right, unarmored, brawny arm around her. The Surge had been activated, and if he had things his way, his opponent would be effectively stunned and at his mercy for their crash landing. If successful, he'd slide his arm from what would be beneath her before slamming her down face first into the earthen crust. All the while careful to maintain contact so long as he was emitting electrical currents.

Seemingly unsuccessful in his attack, Grakav wouldn't even bother slowing down as his forward rush carried him into the bushes beyond...and away from the fight. His mistress had laid out a pretty clear path for the Serpentine warrior; marking both his starting point, and exit, with strong scents to direct him.

After all, this had all been according to Kae's plan.

Like a giant, scaly, bird-dog Grakav had been used to flush out her prey; forcing Jinsoku into the air to put them back on even footing, so to speak. Before, even if injured, his earthbound position had afforded the martial artist some leverage. But now Jinsoku had surrendered that protection to face Kae head on, above the turf.

He moved much more closely than anticipated, shifting his body directly by her right ankle, which was stopped in the dirt. She'd not forgotten about his spear, which he'd already been so keen to show her its ability, retracted by his hip. The movement of his arm saw the spear wedged into the dirt, already the focus of Rou's attention, and the handle came up to meet her, telescoping quickly towards her stomach. He'd refused the chance to try to split through her boots, and Rou would not give him the chance to rethink his plan. Ferris was fast, but so was she.

It was a rough move, straining even for someone as flexible as Rou, as she slacked the tension in her knees, dropping sufficiently on Ferris' side. The rod continued to extend, as Rou reached her hand for it, grabbing the handle as it was already grounded for her, the grip in her right hand used to control the fall. From her kick, Rou was already rotating to her left, and no stranger from a fair pole to spin around, a bent knee hovered just over and past Ferris' head. The extension of the pole pushed narrowly by her cheek, scuffing painfully, the gritting of her teeth causing her to bite, the coppery taste of blood fresh in her mouth.

Meeting the pole with a slap of her second hand, both hands firm around the shaft to keep from flying too far, Rou was able to swing her hips over Ferris' head, her right knee was just shy of the ground. Determined to make it count, Rou braced against the pole with her arms, and thrust her pelvis down. **"Rrrrragh!"** she shouted, exerting a loud snarl to bring herself down hard. With a hard smash between the apex of Rou's legs, Ferris was going to get a face full of MEOW. It was a view men would pay or kill to have, but she doubted Ferris was going to think so, as his crown was sandwiched brutally between the ground and her backside.

She dropped the hammer down hard on his face-- the hammer being Rou's voluptuous booty.

After the impact of the ground, a concussive force that could likely leave Ferris' vision swimming, Rou solidified herself on her knees, gathering them tightly on either side of Ferris' ears. The haft of his spear was cradled in the crook of her neck and right shoulder, keeping her right hand on it, and moving the left for his wrist, so he would not command the spear again.

"Surrender!" she bade him viciously, and made to hold him tight between her knees, **"You move, and I snap your neck. Be agood boy and play dead."**

Her reactions were quick, precise, and came from obvious years of training, fighting, and maybe being a little too lewd? She handled the pole well. Could also just be polearm training, monks often had that from what he knew. Based on her personality though he had...doubts. He wasn't here to judge her for those sorts of behaviors though, he was here to beat her in a test of skill, wit, and strength. It was true Ferris didn't have a lot of RAW POWER, but he was tricky. Very, very tricky.

He could see what she was doing as she started to swing around the pole and place her, what he now noticed, sizable posterior over his face. He'd be screwed, if he wasn't who he was. Most would assume that flight didn't work on the ground, including people who had just seen him use it otherwise, yet here they were. In the same position. As Rou moved her body into position, there was a small window, a window where she hadn't quiet set down her knee just yet. He took that window. His body would suddenly move down, relative to himself. For Rou his face would suddenly slide out from under her, but he wasn't just moving in one direction. His body rotated as well.

He let go of the spear with his hand, and held it out akimbo. As he spun his arm would slide under Rou's body into the position his head used to be. He was now roughly perpendicular to Rou, arm underneath her hips. Ferris wasn't that strong, but he was strong enough. His body would suddenly rocket straight up. His arm would wrap around Rou's undercarriage, his body pushing up against hers, his free arm coming up and wrapping around her shoulder, for a hold from both ends. And he would just keep going up.

She wanted to go for a ride, well, Ferris would take her for one, to see the stars and the clouds and tree tops. It took but a second for Ferris to reach MAXIMUM velocity. He wasn't affected by the sudden acceleration, but Rou would be. In a single second they would already be 30 feet in the air, a second after that 90 feet. Two seconds to be almost 100 feet in the air.

After that, still moving at max speed, Ferris would suddenly let go of Rou and decelerate himself, essentially throwing her straight up into the air. He would move to the side, and watch what she did from 100 feet in the air.

Rou's weaponized backside slammed down hard into the dirt, only to realize that Ferris had slipped from beneath her, escaping by a literal hair. He flipped, hovering there in front of her, quickly turned onto his stomach, and making an abrupt counter. "Huh?!" Rou gasped between her bared teeth, trying to rear back as if to run, eyes widening to cast away her beady irises in a sea of white. She wasn't equipped to move, and the slippery b*****d wanted some payback for his ribs-- or even her endless ribbing.

With one arm slithered beneath her crotch, driving against her like a plow, he vaulted them both up into the sky, taking off like a rocket and carrying her along with him. It nearly knocked the air from her lungs, hard to breathe if not for its shortness, though the force was no less straining, particularly on her bruised ribs. Rou clutched what little she could, for her vehement distaste for flying as they passed further and further from the surface, a long and painful way down. The immense force crushed at her back, her ponytail and clothes luffing like a flag in a gale wind, as Ferris made to lift them both above the canopy.

She'd been swooped up like a rabbit by a hawk, and as he slowed, they reached a moment of weightlessness as he reached his apex in the sky, the two separating as he stopped on a proverbial dime. There was only one thing that could happen here, and Rou wasn't keen to have a rebound affair with the ground... not alone, anyway.

"No you don't!" Rou thought, viciously gritting her teeth, and she wasn't going down without a fight. As she felt gravity clawing her down towards the ground, Rou reared her right arm back, feeding the length of chain with her energy. Throwing it forward, her whip crackled to life in a stream of flame, lashing towards where Ferris had moved, so aptly to watch her presumptive descent.

The whip would carry forward to lash, but swing, using it's momentum to wrap quickly around Ferris' torso in a grapple. It was the only solid object there in the sky, a thick target with little to no chance to miss, and would not be as simple to dodge as if she had aimed for a smaller target, like a limb. As gravity pulled her down, Rou was bound to Ferris by the shackle hanging from her right wrist, falling just to the length of her whip and dangling beneath him with a violent swing, holding onto the chain like a lifeline. Given that she had already burned through his clothes in with her earlier fireball, this was going to hurt, as grappling with the whip did sufficient damage, and Ferris had left his only weapon able to break the tether --his spear-- abandoned on the ground.

The longer he wanted to play in the sky, the worse his burns would get. Within seconds, they'd likely start to bubble, blister, and sear. If he was smart, he'd put them both back on the ground, sooner rather than later--

Baiting the half-Japanese knight into the air a second time would have been funny if the wind wouldn't have been knocked from Kae's lungs on impact. Tearing her left flight membrane, she reached out, grabbing the martial artist about his midsection, lending a sharp twist to her final impact, rotating her body along the axis of her spine leftward. Slamming into the man midair thusly, her right shoulder pinned his armored left arm to his body, arresting his rotation, while her chest struck his plated side.

Sure, Jin could still reach across his chest to complete the brief circuit, curling his grip into the ragged edges of the missing plating across her back, overcoming the resistance of the woman's half-to-three-quarters-inch living wood plates, and in fact the symbiote did feel the muscles in her arms abruptly seize up. Fortunately, it didn't matter much, because spazzed out or not, her momentum was still being transferred... and maintaining a tighter grip so Jin didn't wiggle out somehow was largely the most important part.

There would be no soft landing for these two, either. She'd not be slapping him back to the soft leaf cover, but the lower trunk of a sturdy birch, young enough to not be an anvil with its girth but more like an anchored bludgeon directed into the two outermost points of contact on Jin's body - his right shoulder and hip. With the combined weight of their bodies, both of these places would be smashed into the rest of Jin's body while Kae herself used the inevitable crumpling of his skeleton as an airbag before being flung off to the side with the remainder of her energy.

Mercifully, she was wearing a helmet.

If there was one thing he respected about his opponent, it was their persistence. It rivaled his own, and at this point he truly wondered which one of them actually wanted it more? Which one would give out first? Unfortunately, in this moment, there was no persistence to be given from his opponent, only the reception to the electricity pumping into her body. Once the ability was activated there was no need for a closed circuit approach, his ability working through any point of contact. The winded Kae's only mercy in this moment was the young Knight!

Her left flight membrane tore, though there was no further assistance in shifting leverage or positioning, no reaching or grabbing. His own wishful twist was halted by the way she allowed herself to smack into him, as if they were two action figures vigorously thrust into one another by a playful child. When he did manage to grab unto the edge of her damaged armor however, Jinsoku made it a point to anchor onto her with his two points of contact before his 'skin' began to turn black again. There was no way he could turn her enough before impact for her to take the initial damage, especially not directly. Though by his Iron Shell he was certain he could harm her more than himself simply by disallowing her to bail, and by replacing her cushion with a boulder.

**"HAHHH!"

H**e exclaimed the instant before he collided into the birch with Kae in tow. While some may had mistaken it for unnecessary, the shouting was methodically used in breathing control to rid the lungs of air in cases like this in order to reduce the effects of, or completely avoid being winded. Cracks riddled the black shell about Jinsoku, and while he had spared himself a worse fate, that collision still did a pretty little number on him, bruising and fracturing bone, some internal bleeding, evident in the blood that flew from his mouth shortly after his yell.

As the heavily damaged shell failed from his body, Jinsoku could feel his breastplate had become dented, somewhat warped through the exchange as well, not to mention his shoulder armor and gauntlet. While his recovery from their positioning wouldn't be easy, it would certainly be easier than the likes of his opponent whom would see little to no remorse in the Knight. Where his fingers already molested the edge of her vulnerable back side, Jinsoku juiced her again using his first technique from the beginning of the match to fire a bolt point blank into her back; Avoiding her pesky armor and abusing her lack of grounding. =>Speed. Violence. Momentum.<=

Dogged assault in the midst of the rush of blood, and surging adrenaline, could be considered persistence, but in truth it was aught but three things.

*Speed.*

The parasite blossomed with power, even as Kae's lungs spent the last dregs of her breath screaming in agony. As the surge of electron pathways spiderwebbed across the bare flesh of Kae's back, obliterating cell walls and bursting capillaries, the skin reddened and blistered, scarring instantly with the ripple of destructive current. Nerves and synapses alike fired erratically, over-amplifying even the slightest muscle twitch into abrupt motion. The bruising of multiple impacts congealed at a pace glacial compared to the stresses asked of them. The Rose bade them respond anyway. Whereas Kae's ultimately human body was suddenly introduced to pain far more devastating than the momentary shocks and battering she had hereuntil received, the Rose thrived. That brain, encased in the solemn, featureless mask of hardwood, still bore consciousness. With horrifying alacrity, the parasite stared down at the man electrocuting its host, and simply grew.

*Violence.*

Every slight bestowed upon the woman by this Knight had been repaid with crushing interest, responding to injury with overwhelming force and astonishing, almost casual brutality. Having rebuffed her every advance, and styling himself some sort of hero had been worthy of mockery til now... but that was before she had touched him in the flesh. Now the Rose lusted for his blood. His grip did not let her pull away, and stay she would, until his viscera adorned her talons in their dripping gore. The black shell fell away, and her left gauntlet met bare torso where the easterner's bizarre armoring ended. Her razor talons sank into the top of his abdominal cavity, sliding past the diaphragm to curl viciously under the bottom-most floating rib. When the lightning lanced out through her, arcing out the ends of her fingertips and the joints of her knees, that grip convulsed inward... tearing the bone from his side with inhuman strength, pulverizing the connective cartilage suspending it in Biblical brutality. From this rib would woman's revenge be born.

*Momentum.*

The Rose was a horror from beyond, a force that only grew stronger the more the strange forces of the universe tried to destroy it. Inextricably bound to its host upon whom it depended for sustenance, it rose to her defense with a will of necessity and an assault without end. Shearing blades grew from the ragged edges of her broken exoskeleton, catching the hooked fingers of the ancient armored warrior, and clove the digits between their edges like a rebar press, while the frontal plating erupted in cruel, hooking barbs that would catch and tear whatever they caught in their raking pass. A pair of ropy, glistening vines sought out left shoulder and forearm, caught as it still was between their bodies, and latching on with the same barbs, twisted against each other, bursting his elbow at the joint and shattering the radius and ulna on the fulcrums of each others midpoints inside the shell of Jinsoku's armor. A third lashed out at the unarmored right being minced by blades, bending the wrist back on itself til the carpal bones spat themselves from the tendons in a grotesque outward tumor of the hand.

Through it all, Kae was awake, her pretty eyes open... and stark, raving mad. She screamed. She screamed with no voice, and no wind. The parasite did not care. Not until Jinsoku Hayabusa screamed with an agony far eclipsing hers.

Post Damage Summary/Reasoning

Kae finally gets seriously wounded for the first time in the fight. The wooden plating is pretty elastic and curves away from her chest but is pretty damn jacked up and knocks all the air out of her. Jin has the advantage of full access to her exposed weak spot, and capitalizes on it with a pretty nasty blast of electricity that makes her muscles seize and tremble, and burns the living crap out of her exposed back. On the flip side, this makes the parasite very, very lively, and it counters with another flurry of absolutely horrifying, maiming brutality.

"What are you doing Jin?" James thought to himself as he watched his former student's fight. Jinsoku did not appear to to be at any advantage in the match, indeed, his floral and thorned foe had the upper hand instead.

Time to change that.

During his wandering of the orc-held forest, James came across a few more crude structures and homes. Borrowing a weapon he found inside one of them, a large two-handedbattle axe, James sprinted into the arena with a fury, activating his STRIKER.

As he closed in, James brought the battle ax up with both hands, and turning it sideways to ensure the blow would be somewhat less lethal, he would slug the flat head of the axe into the the parasite-possessed Kae's midsection, likely sending her flying off Jinsoku, and into a nearby tree or shrub.

It became obvious in this moment that Jinsoku had rather misjudged the symbiotic armor his opponent wore. While it surely functioned with some sort of nervous system and appeared to be wood, it was something more than his imagination fathomed. Not only was it sentient, but it was also seemingly immune to his affinity, and it was completely capable of movement with a compromised host. At least temporarily compromised, though he wouldn't doubt it could function while the host was completely unconscious.

Any amount of numbness his abilities left his body with, both in potency and duration would fail to save him from the world of pain that was coming to him now. His eyes grew wide in protest as his body flexed and resisted Kae's efforts, or rather, the efforts of the creature she wore. Jinsoku wasn't even sure whom was meant to be his opponent anymore. Regardless, this was undoubtedly a two versus one fight, in which he assumed at the beginning it was one versus one. The crunching of bone was heard before the inevitable SNAP!!! resounded, swiftly followed by a blood curdling scream. Thankfully his shoulder and forearm weren't so easily adversely effected without fully ruining his armor first.

***"GYAHHHHH!!!"*

B**egrudgingly, he bellowed in pain. To his surprise however came James in that moment, sliding in to unleash an attack and perhaps turn the tides of battle in his Apprentice's favor. He struck at Kae with a great swing, albeit flipping the head of the ax to not impart it's blow with the sharp edge. Jinsoku was somewhat of a sitting duck, but the moment impact was established, or Kae reacted in some other manner, there was no doubt in Jinsoku's mind that he'd find an opening in his opponent's defenses. His efforts in the next moments to pass would focus primarily on capitalizing on his opponents temporary weakness. Where Jinsoku thought his last chance was, his Master had undoubtedly given him a moment longer to prepare.

Kae hardly felt the impact of the axehead until after it had already sent her sprawling off the prone knight, largely due to the aftershocks of her nerves seizing up into a wad of pain that had already robbed her of her voice. Between that and the previous impact with the sturdy birch, she'd surely have been robbed of all of her breath and started suffocating if it was not for the partially intact membrane of her helm providing her body with oxygen. That did not stop her torso from discoloring vividly underneath her splintered breastplate, by this point bruised enough that the internal bleeding might become life-threatening in a few minutes.

Not managing more than a soft groan, her focus on revenge abated as she rolled away painfully into the leafy undergrowth, flopping wordlessly onto her back at the end of her brief momentum. The various defenses of her parasite held their grip, inflicting considerable damage even as she was smacked away, but no longer possessed the alacrity to continue their gruesome work when their mistress was so disoriented.

Kae was done fighting for the moment. Stars swam in her eyes, and the parasite finally peeled away, receding enough for her to pull breath with her own battered diaphragm. Wreathed in a halo of her soft violet hair, she shuddered, her shaking fingers plying the earth, digging shallow grooves as she tried to force her muscles back into obeying her. Tears streamed from the corners of her pretty eyes. Maiming her opponent had been costly - but surely his loss of blood and limb, and profound fresh traumas she had just inflicted placed him in no position to continue his assault.

She... she just needed to breathe, and then she'd stand.

Post Damage Summary/Reasoning

The striker attack knocks Kae off of Jinsoku and amplifies her existing bruises into internal bleeding, but does nothing to prevent her various prior attacks from completing successfully. Neither does Jinsoku really do anything to stop them, and his armor is not going to stop his joints from bending the wrong way from counter-levering. She breaks his left arm, rips out his right floating rib, and slices off the first three fingers of his right hand before snapping it at the wrist. This is a slew of injuries that ought to be fight-ending.
