1Trapdoor Spider

Ferris was fast, in fact he would hope faster than most other combatants in this tournament. On top of that he was literally waiting for Bob's attack. The exact thing Bob proceeded to do, Ferris expected him to do. He hadn't expected him to so quickly attack without Ferris getting a little closer, but beggar's can't be choosers. So he did what he was going to do anyways, dodge to the side. His powers activated and he suddenly jerked to the side, turning his body as he did to create as little a target as possible for his opponent to hit.

However Bob didn't seem that taken off guard by the sudden movements, so instead of the original plan of suddenly changing directions to fly at Bob, he took a two step move. First, he suddenly spun mid dash, whipping out his polearm and extending it. He would catch one of the many claw roof tiles and fling it towards his opponent. After finishing the tile attack he would pull up, still moving forward through both actions. It was time for some aerial acrobatics.

When he had turned his body to make a slimmer target he had noted how far out the string was going from it's original launch point, and used that to judge how far to get away, plus some. In fact he didn't really use it as a guide at all. He just kept going up and away from Bob, flying through the air with amazing grace and speed. Once at a comfortable distance he would turn and slow to look at his opponent, still grounded.

2MelonusHead

Ferris in fact decided not to go with the whole closing distance plan, obviously taken aback by the sheer ferocity of the silly string spurting in his direction. Therefore, Bob never utilised his Substantial string, but rather did what he was always going to do when his opponent inevitably tried to dodge out of the way. He… tracked his target. Not all that complicated really, especially when using a projectile which was practically one long brightly coloured tracer round. As Ferris seemed to glide across the ground strafing to Bob’s left, Bob instinctually adjusted the can in his hand to hit the moving target. As Ferris had at this point not actually flown backwards, he wasn’t any further away and despite his impressive speed Bob had a very specific set of skills. He was an expert Silly String Marksman.

As Ferris took his eye off the ball so to speak to fling a tile at Bob, Bob would have re-adjusted his aim to hit him regardless by leading the target. The string would start to splurt over his torso and the back of his head, and by the time he’d turned around he’d end up with a face full of the Superstick right in the eyeballs. Bob would definitely have less time to fully cover Ferris in string, that much was fair to say, but until Ferris made his move to actively fly out of range he was pitted solely against Bob’s marksmanship, which was impeccable. As was said, Bob had a very particular set of skills.

Unfortunately Bob’s skillset did not extend to expecting a roof tile expertly plucked from the rooftop and flung uncannily straight at him. How Ferris aimed such an attack was honestly beyond the green-clothed man, presumably he practiced flinging roof tiles at least as much as Bob practiced shooting moving targets with Silly String. Bob had at least turned his body slightly in the act of tracking Ferris, though he was mostly turning his hand, but everything was happening far too quickly for any human to keep up. Only muscle memory allowed Bob to fire his can so unerringly at a target his brain hadn’t quite clocked was flying, but the same muscle memory had him instinctively raise his left forearm to block the flying ceramic.

Bob was too slow to actually get his forearm in the way, and he felt a stinging pain in the back of his hand and heard an odd clinking sound shortly after a knock to the head. Weirdly, the tile had struck the can in his left hand and clipped the back of said hand, knocking the can from his grip and into his helmeted head. Fortunately, he wore gloves, unfortunately his can of supersubstantial string tinkled to the floor and with his focus almost entirely on spraying Ferris as much as possible before he zoomed out of range, he didn’t have time to pick it up. The tile promptly shattered into pieces on the floor and his hand smarted a little, but it was a minor inconvenience. It would take more than the one tile! Maybe two or three.

She had merely forgotten in the moment how... protective the Rose could be. Oh, a harlot with manners! Pleasantly surprised that Ms. De la Fontaine seemed the redeemable sort, Ammiel felt the slightest tinge of guilt as the woman reached for his hand; this feeling distracted him from the malicious parasite, barely giving him time to think before his hand and arm were turned into minced meat.

Fortunately, a thought was all he needed.

When struck with a weapon or a physical attack, the ward 'explodes' with sufficient force to repulse the attack, knocking it away. While the force is enough to stagger someone if they're caught off-guard, it doesn't have enough force to actually throw them. Since the magic is consumed with a single, instantaneous burst, it's almost immune to the magic absorbing effects of certain weapons. Each use lasts one post and is good for a single attack only.

The ward along Moonblade's forearm exploded with a reverberating sound not unlike shattering glass, halting the pincers as they attempted to ruin the Magus' favorite arm. In a simultaneous fashion, Ammiel lifted his right leg from the ground, arching his back slightly as he brought his foot straight towards Kae's lady parts with a smirk.

The repulsive properties of Lunar magic adds significant throwing power to the attack, easily tossing most opponents back over ten feet. Against a normal human, this attack would easily break small bones in the contact area like rib and may even cause small fractures in larger bones in the target's body. Augmenting Quicksilver Eruption with Emerald Fantasia retains the knockback while adding elemental damage to the explosion.

Starting things off big, Moonblade's foot erupted with a terrible explosion of lunar energy as it struck, easily generating enough force to hurl the poor woman ten feet. If his foot came into contact with her groin area, the impact would be likely be sufficient to create small fractures in her pelvis. Truth be told, the magus would have aimed for a less terrible location, but the harlot was currently towering over the lithe homunculus, what with those tall stilettos of hers.

It would appear as though the homunculus had supernatural reflexes; In reality, he merely looked justified in his actions and was planning to kick her from the onset. The parasite was correct to be wary. "Think nothing of it, my dear. However, you'll have to forgive me when I cast that thing into oblivion~" Whether or not Kae managed to gain her footing or slid off the roof, she would be treated with a genuine smile.

The excess mana from Moonblade's spell appeared to visibly seep into the sheathed blade at his side, soaking through the runes in the scabbard like a sponge. It wouldn't be hard to notice if one were particularly perceptive.

There was a very real and sudden moment, accompanied by a slight widening of the eyes and pupils, in which Kae realized the precise nature of the magus' intentions. It wasn't surprise at the fact that it had been a trap to take his hand. No, that much had been obvious. It was instead surprise at the method of delivery. Her right hand darted reflexively towards her mound, but even as she summoned the surge of her powers so woefully repressed by the parasite, she felt the fairy's bootheel slam painfully into her mons pubis. Her vision blurred with pinpricks of light, only to add trails of vapor and a blur of passing buildings to mix in briefly.

A natural response was to pull her left elbow in closer, which she had been snatching back anyway, to try and arrest her landing, but that just added another painful impact surface as she clattered back across the terracotta. Mercifully, the surface of these things were pretty smooth, but they still bestowed a nasty rap to her tailbone as her plush rear smacked across the apex of the roof, splaying her legs to either side into an impressive split.

Kae groaned, eyes rolling, as she massaged the site of the magus' kick gingerly, slumping forward to stabilize herself with her other hand. *"Ooooooh, [********]! That hurt.... do you treat every girl like this?" Her pretty lips were pulled thin, trying to work out if the dull ache now blossoming throughout her entire pelvic region actually meant a fracture, or just a really nasty bruise. Meanwhile, the Rose seemed to continue to shirk away from its bristling armoring, pooling its mass down to recede back into its host in apparent fear at the homunculus' prowess, drawing out a... very different* sound from Kae.

"Nnn...Nnnnnffff, not nooooowwww...."

It seemed like the malevolent thing was purposely exposing her to the mercy of her opponent, leaving naught but the thin membrane of a rose leaf to separate her groin from the cool touch of glazed tile, and a spider's web of vines criss-crossing her shapely body that strained to hold her in.

Blade Theory Wrote:

Drat. Omi wondered why people didn't start with their biggest flashiest attacks from the onset at times, and was often dealt a resounding answer of "disappointment."

Make no mistake: did the snake charmer expect a magical transforming sword shield composite? No. Did he expect a giant snake humanoid whom he was still convinced was a dolt to bull-rush into him with no legs at the speed of very yes? No. Did he expect his flashy new signature technique to get swatted aside with zero damage inflicted on his opponent? No.

However.

What he did expect or at least highly anticipate was if someone ran into his close proximity, he needed an escape plan. Such was setting up his little spectacle with the ill received film of his team's exploits and looming around waiting in a cardboard box --- if it didn't need to come into play, all could be written off as quirky shenanigans. But they did serve a purpose. What was that you might ask?

To distract from him starting the fight off on that glorious rooftop nearby its spacious chimney. In front of its spacious chimney. This wasn't a cowardly tactic at all in the event something big and nasty got in his face early, no no! It was genius strategy. As he had researched hastily before the fight began, this was some kind of temple in the fairly wealthy district of paupers and charlatans. Incidentally, per the parameters of their battle, while this would still count as ring-out territory, it wasn't illegal -- just a grey area. Genius!

Also while no fault of Grakav's, Omi's Serpent Art wasn't something he could be (directly) harmed by. He could manipulate, touch, and even have the flames from it flow over his body without ill effect; this was how for example, his new [Crimson Snakeblade] could be wielded bare handed despite it literally jumping to life with fire, or how he could blast out his [Ouroboros Wave] point blank from his stomach if so desired when hugging a foe. While housing no elemental resistances like many mages found prudent in their channeling nor housing any unnatural physical mutations like most metahumans seemed to develop, the rule of thumb was essentially "if the red snake, damage to Omi is on break."

However that did not prevent them from being a buffer as Omi got his st shield charged backwards immediately.** He couldn't withstand that kind of force or weight, at least not in this situation. The air would cave out of his lungs with bulging eyes as he went flying backwards -- eyes stinging from the shining light of "metal" on true metal. Yet... there would be nothing but give and no resistance. That added "push" from using the crimson snakes as an accidental buffer helped the knockback complete. To an exit. To a departure.

His coward's way out.

His fall.

His fall .... into the "temple" which his body would barely fit to slice down a**-first.

~~~~~~~~~~~
"OOPH" Cried Omi Barsait in shock as his shoulder pauldrons giving him some mild coating on the way down gave yield to him a bumping the artificial fireplace sans an actual fire below, his [WAVE**] dissipated from a lack of focus -- smashing him torso armor first through the glass and into the living room of an affluent family celebrating the holidays.
They seemed absorbed in their laptop, three children and their father, watching [HoH Round 1:: Con-Coctions].
"Heheh. **** that p*y up, Rance. You're my BOY. YEAH!**" Cheered the father gleefully as the children had berry cheeks themselves with joy at what they were witnessing.
This wasn't .. a temple..
Deciding it was better not to risk being penalized by the administration in the event they had a way to tell he was in here, Omi avoided interacting with these screen glued peons and instead backed away from the fireplace haughtily, an obvious soreness in his lower torso whilst he regained his breath in sips -- reaching for the front door but acknowledging his larger foe may have been able to follow him still.
Otherwise... he was on a timer.
That was Moonblade's cue. As Kae sailed through the air, Ammiel began walking forward along the seam of the roof, making it seem almost as a casual occurrence as opposed to a task that took precarious balance. Extending his left hand out to the side, a pair of ephemeral, draconic wings of pure magic appeared around his frame from seemingly nowhere, no sot much as giving an auditory warning. While these large translucent wings appeared to have about an 18 foot wingspan, they were merely metaphysical manifestations of the upcoming spell and otherwise had no actual mass.
*Note 2: For the sake of HoH, Moonblade can only use Mystic Wings once every 4 posts.
Violently throwing his left hand in front of himself as though taking a swipe at the air, the magus' wings slammed in concert, creating a powerful wind blast capable of hurling everything left on the roof off into dense fog of the streets below. While this meant that Ammiel would effectively lose site of his opponent if successful, it did mean that she would likely take damage for being violently hurled into god knows what whilst falling into the street. At least it would give the spectators something fun to look at.
Maybe she'd hit a wall. The thought made the magus chuckle; he was enjoying himself way too much throwing the woman around like a rag doll.
Rolling over the crest of the roof seemed like a good idea now, even if it brought the slight urge to vomit into the pit of her stomach. Damn, that smarted. But the magus' onerous advance, heralded by the panoply of draconic wings rearing back was enough incentive to get moving.
Sadly, it still wasn't fast enough. A hurricane gale washed over her, ripping past and loosing an entire cascade of pottery around her as she felt the sheer force of the air generate lift even on the non-aerodynamic surface that was her chest. Skin and gums flapping back, wreathed in a halo of her own violet-sheen hair, Kae went airborne a second time, only to be caught in a violent backdraft as the gale struck the adjoining building and rebounded, sweeping her up and sideways to then plummet sidelong into the mists.
For a brief moment, there was silence, followed by a panicked yell and the loud 'crack' of wood splintering. The shopfronts below probably didn't have insurance for instances of scantily-clad women crashing into their awnings. Fortunately for the cabbage vendor below them, Kae was... surprisingly light. Light enough that she had only torn the canvas at a single seam, and the wooden support could probably be fixed with some flex seal and a stout prayer.
Then the moment passed, and the fog of the streets, still rippling slightly with her dynamic entry, cast outward a second time, as the woman sailed up like a trapeze artist at the end of their routine, to alight with a graceful bend of her knees on the edge near the copper gutters. In the occluded sunlight, the small droplets of moisture that coated her shone with a subtle glint, accentuating the pleasant jiggle of her bosom as she straightened.
Regardless of his prior feelings, Ammiel Moonblade had just baptized an exotic flower into unfolding out into her full beauty. As she ran her hands luxuriantly through her hair to untangle it and smooth it over her shoulder, he might feel a not-so-subtle twinge of his heartstrings... and the smell of fresh cut grass mingling with the pleasant perfume of roses in bloom.
He let out an expletive though as he hit him in the face. He immediately pulled up and back, this time purposefully trying to get out of the range of the can, and far away from his opponent. He'd rip off his goggles, or try to. It pulled against the skin of his face. The string hadn't entirely blinded him, but his goggles were now glued to his face and partially obscured. The irritant lucky then avoided his eyes, but the rest of his face now felt warm and itchy.
As he pulled back he knew he needed to take time to fix this, he couldn't fight if he couldn't see. He glared in the general direction of BOB even if he couldn't make eye contact. Once he was out of range he would dive beneath the roofs, into the heavy fog filling the streets below. Once safe out of range he shrunk his spear down to dagger size and began to VERY CAREFULLY cut the string so he could then remove the goggles. He would drift down the streets in the fog cover, mid-air, to keep his exact position hidden from his opponent. He wasn't doing much this turn, but he needed to clear this.
With a snort of suppressed laughter, he stooped to pick up his dropped can and shook the other, judging it about half-full, with a shrug he popped it back into its holster and drew another Sticky can.
“You can’t just fly around forever buddy! Everything goes up gots to come down eventually.” With that foreboding warning, for Ferris had been off the ground (for three consecutive posts) for some time, Bob stood around with his ears perked, glancing across the rooftops and down into the street. He figured he’d hear or see a sign of the flying guy eventually.
THE GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT
Striker Entry!
Timelines converged in a jingle of sleighbells and the rustle of Christmas fir. Actually, a whole damn lot of rustling. Was the brightly lit and richly decorated spruce in the center of the room always so... antsy? It might have been one of those crazy fake ones you could get from MallMart that shook itself in a mock breeze.
It was certainly... fragrant though. The sticky gin-smell of pine, yes, but laced with flowers and orange peel. How decidedly festive... it made one want to come closer. Taste the pine needles. Make love to the spirit of Christmas present.
The tree moaned softly. "Going so soon, Ah-mee? You haven't even opened your presents..."
Maybe if the Master of Serpentine Arts looked really closely, he might see a woman with tinsel hair and clad only in mistletoe intimately entangled with the trunk of the dense conifer through the bristle of branches. Probably not, however, considering he might be distracted by the very immediate and real sensation of her hands massaging a winter salami down his throat. Kae sighed, knowing he'd not be able to taste the wonderful bouquet of spices in this holiday treat... but he'd feel its satisfaction nonetheless, right past his mask and bandages and all those silly impediments... the same way it bulged out her cheeks.
Grakav had only been moving at a jog, and despite his prodigious strength it had not been the Serpentine’s intention to send Omi flying. All the same, he would clearly feel the other fighter’s weight press against his shield before promptly rebounding off of it and in the opposite direction. Before he even had a chance to peer out over the Vis’st’oks, the crimson clad warrior had dropped through a skylight at his back.
Naturally, Grakav dropped the base of his shield to the shingles; angling it just so as to help kill his momentum and bring him to a stop. That gave him a good look at what had transpired; noting the gaping hole up ahead, and the bits of glass that were left. It was also entirely possible for him to hear the loud crash as Omi found the floor below, and the groan that followed. The Reptile didn’t remain idle, and quickly willed his weapon to begin another transformation; this time the material folding first back to its standard form, and then hissing like an angry snake.
The sword split down the middle with a firm -click-; transforming from a full-blade into a pair of twin *Falcata**, and transitioned Grakav from the Coiling Threat into his *Slithering Shadow** stance.
With that done, the Mansnake picked his way towards the broken skylight; Still trying to work out why humans would build such fragile points into their architecture. It didn't even hurt him, he just paused and turned to scan the surrounding area to get a fix on her location. "Why?" Yancy's confusion was mounting, she had such a bizarre way of going about things.
Omi's eyes squinted with dismay as he stood ankle deep in the waters of this dark shadow realm. "What. That's disgusting. What kind of depraved b***d is this man that he keeps magical trees in his house that do THAT? No.. no way I'm letting that happen, that is just gross even coming from me.**"
Ideal Omi shook his head with a passive smile sprawled across his angelic face. "No.. you must ignore societal implications and momentary disgrace. This isn't like a spell that binds your legs, it will just cause you momentary "discomfort." Surely better than having your legs frozen in place or being outright attacked, no? It's more of a prank."
Yet the devil of Shadow Omi shook his head vigorously. "You're wrong! There's a whore at the heart of this conspiracy. You heard her siren call. You have to rip her apart, disembowel her there and then, and use her spine as an improvised dagger to mutilate that faux snake up above. Hurriedly! At once!"
Omi frowned deeply as the two sides began to mount their arguments.
"There's spectators nearby. The overseers of this blood-sport might be incompetent here and there but even they won't miss you ripping apart three children and an adult fan, Barsait. Be wise."
"You'll be fine! You just have to fixate your wrath on your enemies. You can't dawdle out of bounds all day, you need to bring the offensive to them now!! Plus, you probably can't even breath for some time; do you want to suffocate to death? TO THIS?"
"Oh come on, it'll only last for a short time, you'll barely interrupt your breathing patterns. Don't be hyperbolic. You'll forget what's happening anyway, you'll just think something's stuck in your throat."
Arms crossed, Omi's eyes shut tight with sadness written across his face. Unfortunately, his ideal self made a compelling set of arguments. Had this been some kind of fight ending effect, and if his opponent were right in front of him, it may have been worth entering the frenzy of rage outright to cull those unnatural effects. However, either his opponent couldn't or wouldn't pursue him into this forbidden territory just yet.. and so it became too risky to... avoid... sucking the...
... "Mmpphh... DENIED." A red and blue set of lights faded away, and with it, all knowledge of this tribunal -- concluded.
"Wow! These fights are really heating up! Hah, this is way better than watching that p*y Moonblade run from his opponent all day. Take her in son. That's a woman." Remarked the father, before finally peering up from his laptop-- and then doubletaking with shock and rage. "Hey! What the ****** are you -- who!? Where'd you get that tree!? That strangely sexual tree. What the ****. What the ****. Get out of my house what the ******]"
Omi meanwhile, slightly disoriented with two new lumps on his body, one moving unnaturally around his mouth and throat -- shook his head silently with a muffled attempt at assuaging the homeowner as he exited hastily. He had no idea what was going on.
No idea at all.**
"With that done, the Mansnake picked his way towards the broken skylight; Still trying to work out why humans would build such fragile points into their architecture."
They used to serve a practical function once upon a time, but now... now humans just used them as a fashion statement to show how much wealth they could waste in perverting them, such as this modern family within and their mild light-show now sundered by Omi's entrance.
However, as Grakav approached the hole and began to ascertain his teammate in a manner of effect's entrance, he would find he was not alone.
Odd nature that it was, this town had fallen prey to odd temporal anomalies of late. One had just assaulted Barsait after all, although he'd likely never know it wasn't just a demonic fir of some type. Unbeknownst to even Omi himself, this was also occurring to the "man" on the roof, an ominous entity dropping down from above and behind feet first in a comically exaggerated dual stomp kick. But whom was it, delivering this odd variant of "[Striker Assist]" as this competition loved to hype?
Why...
...another he. Another him. Another Omi.
It would require the briefest of backstory that Omi wasn't the strongest man in the world, let alone compared to metahumans and beasts of legend. As such, he utilized his many odd powers to offset his otherwise mundane nature. This included outright physical strength, where even a surprise flying dual-kick would likely have just made the still significantly bulky Grakav stagger slightly on the shingles of that rooftop and be irritated.
Of course, that would be like saying a gunman's not so dangerous without a firearm. Potentially true but useless information when they in fact had the gun drawn on you.
Barsait was at least somewhat cautious, developing a strike enhancing technique entitled "Beast Snaked" as some mocking callback to another fighter's signature move he had witnessed, which allowed him to deliver punishing melee blows at the price of temporary limb damage. Emphasis on temporary. He had other abilities that, technically, could enable devastating melee attacks... but he would see that as a very final resort given their damage to his body not being so mitigatable.
Less so for Temporal Omi, who seemed rather unhinged even for this man.
If you'll recall Ferris delivering a punishing 60 MPH dropkick that sent Silver Dragons' "Yancy" into another building and planting him into it with overwhelming force, then you are an astute individual! Left boot aligned with the back of Grakav, right with his torso -- all at about a 140 degree angle, just inches away in this surprise attack, this was..
[The 1 Token variant of Snakespeed Dash!]
show spoilerhide spoiler(Snakespeed Dash)]Active - 1 token per speed increment up to 3, 2/3/4 turn cooldown.
User Image Countless smaller serpents burst from Omi’s legs and sink into his flesh and muscles as to reinforce them, whilst numerous more crop up behind his back. These all burst with an explosive force aimed behind him, propelling him forward on what can only be described as Snake Skis.
For every token spent, Omi goes an additional 5 feet at an absurd speed of 80 MPH. He can “aim” this in any direction, even skyhigh - though of course, he would plummet afterwards. This cannot be split up, it is one use, one direction, one cooldown.
SPECIAL INTERACTION A - In every sense of the word. Were an opponent directly behind Omi, at a distance of two feet or closer, they would likely get floored by the aforementioned force unless well grounded or significantly weighted. This in itself is not dangerous, they would just look very stupid.
SPECIAL INTERACTION B - Omi cannot activate Serpentine Fire on this.
Imagine a humanoid body crashing into you out of literal thin air, at a speed 20 MPH faster than even Ferris' impressive flight speed, with zero means to halt their momentum. Imagine, having their bones break into you as you are smashed into the human skylight as Grakav had so envisioned it, contending with being ripped down the path to the now broken glass coated floor.
Imagine doing this with a weight pressed onto you, a humanoid cannonball, quite potentially headfirst.
Regardless of the outcome, the resonating noise of impact alone would have the homeowner below yelling What the ******] once again.
He was having a bad day.**
