THE GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT

Striker Exit!

Her psychological warfare completed successfully, the spirit of XXXmas present dredged up the spiced bundle of preserved meats with a hint of regret, giving a final satisfied hum as it danced over her tongue. The ghostly sensation faded with it, and she made to step forth from the tree to calm the irate homeowner before departing, only to find that her thighs and wrists were hopelessly tangled in the warm glow of cheery Christmas lights.

The apparition sighed softly, and shimmered out of existence, leaving the tree listing in its stand oddly, the only mark of her passing the copious bits of silvery tinsel strewn about haphazardly on its limbs.

The lack of carnage caused by Kae's lightened form was lost on Ammiel, obfuscated by both the thick fog and a deluge of pheromones that were apparently assaulting the magus. He blinked, bringing his left hand to his forehead with a deep frown, doing his damnedest to ignore the tightening he felt around his chest.

Alas, this would be a mostly fruitless endeavor.

This lasts for as long as he is in a persistent field and for 1 post after he leaves.

Perhaps it was the almost imperceptible shortness in breath. Perhaps it was the way his hands lightly quivered, unsure whether to reach for a weapon or Kae herself. Either way, Moonblade was clearly rattled in some fashion. Stoicism was not Ammiel's strong suit, though he certainly put on a brave face as long-forgotten feelings and sensations washed over him.

The homunculus attempted to focus on something --anything-- other than the gorgeous harlot he was forced to endure. The music from his commissioned concert wasn't to his taste, but the thought of annoying his former vice captain greatly amused him. His daughter was back at the Crimson Hawk, no doubt cheerfully enjoying the privileges that came with being his heiress. Kae was alluring beyond words, what sort of example would he lead by consorting with such a vile, voluptuous, enchanting-- damn it all!

Another surge of mana was channeled throughout the magus' body, albeit with less of a dramatic flair than before. His mind split in so many different directions, Ammiel would have a hard time being quite as showy as normal until he made some sort of mental adjustment.

While the magus was distracted, Kae would get a free pass to the roof. Bowing deeply as the woman made her proposal with yet another flourish of his cloak, the magus averted his gaze to look anywhere but at his opponent. "You have my attention."

*"Ah. Regardez-moi."* she admonished, and rightfully. It was rude to avoid the gaze of someone talking to you. Her faint touch on his chin, gently pulled his face toward her, to lock eyes with her heavy, painted lids. With deliberate steps, she climbed the rows of intact roof tiles obliquely, each step crossing her legs at the thigh, as an animal stalking its prey. The magus had given a violent, frosty welcome in the wake of his formality, but now it was her turn to torque the screws into his side. His breath was quick with her presence - all Kae needed now was his eyes.

Her left arm extended again, though she was still many feet distant, beckoning Moonblade to close with her again, a ghostly but very real sensation of her manicured nails running playfully down his back. She gave him an honest eye-smile, her staggered breaths lending pleasing shudders to her frame as she parted the heavy mists around her. Her skin shone with barely suppressed desire, held in by trembling vine-ropes that cut into her soft flesh in all the right ways.

"I was forced to fight you, not by my choice, by a man who hates me." the symbiote confessed quietly. *"All I desire is a kiss... the long, passionate mark of someone who cares. Your lips... and mine, dansant ensemble. You give me that, and the fight is yours." She was close now, close enough to slide her body into his side, her intoxicating perfume heavy on the air. Thick, full lips glistened invitingly, so invitingly close* to his cheek, her tongue running over their glossy surface in anticipation. Kae's gentle fingers rubbed tenderly over her belly, still nursing his earlier wound as she leaned into his shoulder, her breath hot on his ear.

*"And afterward... I might just like to see how well you can bruise me up from the inside..."*

Ferris landed softly on the ground of the streets below. Despite the heavy fog people were still out in droves buying, selling, and trading on the busy streets. Odd for a fight to take place just above such an area, but he wasn't one to question it too hard. He gave a shrug and stretched a little as he looked around and up. His opponent probably wouldn't follow him down here, more of a mobility issue than anything else, which gave him a little bit of time to think. He didn't have a lot though, there was still the threat of ringout, which from what he had been told was extended for this particular fighting stage. A saving grace at the moment. So he took that moment to rest for a moment and idle around the city floor. He moved quickly around, rearranging his position relative to the building.

CHRONOSTRIKER

Sometime in an alternate future

Bob sat on his bed, watching the fight play out, nursing a poorly healed stab wound to his upper torso. He was dressed more casually than usual, his armour having been badly damaged in the fight he had lost. Having had no way to follow Ferris as he flew off into the fog, things had gone rather badly. However, when the fight was over he had time to watch the re-runs… and for whatever reason the tournament officials allowed strikers outside of time.

“So that’s where he ran off to!”

Present

Ferris had dropped to the ground in the busy street, surrounded by people, he could be forgiven for not suspecting the threat coming. Another seemingly innocent shopper draped in a casual outdoor cloak suddenly turned in front of Ferris as the flyer was forced to ground himself by the flight timer restriction. The first thing Ferris would note amiss was the aerosol can in the man’s hand as he suddenly unleashed sticky silly string hell right into Ferris’ now vulnerable face… for of course.

‘Once safe out of range he shrunk his spear down to dagger size and began to VERY CAREFULLY cut the string so he could then remove the goggles.’

Some might get on bystanders, but the string wasn’t exactly dangerous unless it just happened to be aimed directly at your unprotected eyeballs. ChronoBob’s face was lit up in a rare grimace of anger, finally getting his own back on the coward who had flown away constantly and stabbed him near to death in his own fight. Simply ducking wouldn’t do the job even if Ferris did react to the completely unexpected sneak attack, as Bob would simply spray down over him nonetheless. However, perhaps the most damaging thing? Bob roared out a call to… himself.

“Hey other Bob, get your a** over here and finish this blighter, do it for Clementine!” And with that call, and having emptied his can over Ferris, who was likely covered in string by this point, Bob of the alternate future would cease to exist. A new future beckoned.

6MelonusHead

“Hey other Bob, get your a over here and finish this blighter, do it for Clementine!”**

Bob of the present had been meandering across rooftops, trying in vain to locate Ferris. He’d had to holster his cans to climb more effectively where it was required and leap rather ungainly over low ledges and walls. However, when the call of his future self rang out, he grinned.

“Clementine.” He whispered in an outlandish southern drawl. He’d have thought it were a trick if not for that name. That name told him the voice in the distance was inexplicably himself, and he trusted himself implicitly. The call came about three buildings down, from the street below, but with the fog and people meandering this way and that he couldn’t see Ferris yet, but at least he knew where he would be! The Silly String Aficionado broke out into a sprint, leaping to the next building recklessly, closing the distance with each booted footfall. Ten seconds, that’d be all it took to get to the building in line with Ferris in the street!

7Trapdoor Spider

There was a sparse moment in time, the briefest breath for a reaction. There were many factors working against the self propelled man though. The unexpected nature of a lurking individual lying in wait in broad daylight for you, the unusual weapon, she sheer insanity of that stranger being the man you just easily left behind. If it wasn't for his opponents odd choice of weaponry he might not have been able to do anything. That tin canister though caused an elevated reaction though. Not enough to completely save him, but enough to mitigate the damage.

His hand shot forward and up, attempting to cover his face, his entire body and face turning to the right as he attempted to block the stream of silly string with his left arm. By the time it got up there though some of it had already landed across half his face and burned into his eye. He only had one move left. His body suddenly rocketed towards the time clone. He wouldn't be able to peel away fast enough to prevent the string from hitting him more, but if he pressed himself directly into the man he wouldn't be able to even aim the can to do anymore than leave a tangled mess of the string center mass on his clothing.

He was shouting too though. Oh no, he understood now. His initial confusion somewhat alleviated as he understood why the man he had left behind was now here. And that wound. Apparently in the future he had managed to land a blow, a good one at that judging by the blood soaked bandages. He had no way of knowing if he had won that fight or not though. He couldn't worry about that though, as that future may no longer even come to pass.

Unfortunately he couldn't do anything about the shouting though, a signal to himself of Ferris' location. The man he had slammed into though, he would be gone in a moment. His eye stung, and his arm was felt awkward trying to move, the string sticking rather annoyingly all over his side. Once the man disappeared Ferris would use his free hand to once again use his spear to try and cut some of the strands away to free up his movement. He could barely look around like this.

Four

A great deal had happened in the span of a few moments, and time heaved from the effort. However, the cosmos would remain intact; even as another affront to the natural order quite literally flew forth, and slammed his feet into Grakav’s back.

The Scaled Warrior did not see what, or who, had hit him; in fact, Grakav had been given no warning at all. The STRIKE appeared out of thin air, about three feet from the Reptilian, and then blasted into him at about 80mph. The shock would temporarily spare him from any awareness to pain, or the sound of his spine popping as it was drowned out by the much more sickening crack of [ChronOmi’s] bones shattering on impact. But the devastation wrought by, and upon, this temporal attacker had been...worth it; the force of impact imparting everything that the smaller man contained into the hulking Serpentine, and hurling him off of his feet.

Launching Grakav forward into the broken skylight, and bodily throwing him against the massive Holiday wreath that hung above the fireplace mantle. It was something out of a fairytale, to be sure; a hoop of dense greenery, with an underlayer of twigs and wire mesh. All decked out over it’s nearly 10ft diameter in tinsel, and thick ribbons...further interspersed with ball ornaments, and flashing lights. Given the comically unrealistic reactions of that family that lived here, this garrish offense to Christmas hardly seemed out of place.

The monstrously bushy decoration was not enough to completely halt his impact, but it certainly cushioned him. It also gave the Reptile a chance to find his feet; smashing colorful trinkets, and framed photographs underfoot as he tried to establish his balance up above the fireplace. However, with the return to good sense came the clenching pain to his back! For Grakav, who’s life was conflict, that was more than enough to remind him of his place in this world.

The green titan whipped his head free of the pine-hoop, hissing hatefully, and locked eyes on Omi; the crimson-clad fighter having just come to terms with the apparition in his throat. That pause would be the true Snake’s opportunity, and he would not miss it!

Throughout his dramatic collapse into the apartment below, Grakav had kept a tight grip on his blades; the byproduct of a life of beatings, and rigorous conditioning to NEVER allow the Vis’st’oks to escape him. The weapon’s edges would drag over stone; screeching angrily as they were drug around in the Reptile’s pivot, and brought to bear once more. He swept his tail left to right, and moved as if to fall from the mantle altogether. His massive frame was too wide to properly turn upon the impromptu ledge, so he instead transitioned into a powerful leap from the large shelf; pressing the pads of his feet firmly against the wood, and kicking off to throw himself across the room.

Omi was his target; a gagging, still somewhat winded, point of red in his wrathful vision. Certainly, the other humans in the room spat words he could not understand; seemingly undeterred by the threat of the two warriors in their home. They were not his business, and they would not distract him now.

Grakav would sail through the air in an arcing leap, and bring his left-side sword over to join its twin once more; the two weapons fusing once more into his mighty Full-Blade. That would put him back into Coiling Threat stance, but this time he would not move as near to his opponent; instead orienting himself to land, feet first, about 5ft from the distracted man.

Lashing out with a horizontal swipe, from Grakav’s right shoulder to his left hip; hoping to catch Omi with the inside hook of his massive blade at about bicep height, and drive him into the floor.

When used at the start of his jump, the boost in momentum is extreme, effectively tripling his initial 'take-off' speed while increasing his maximum standing jump height to sixty feet. Each boost drains a small bit of mana from the Mystic Dragoon varying on how long the boost is maintained.

The two Ammiels would continue, tumbling over and sailing off the roof, real-world Moonblade being caught by surprised and consequently bowled-over by Timebreaker Moonblade. However, while momentarily stunned by the sudden strike, Ammiel recalled the otherworldly nature of this stage and stopped wrestling with his temporal counterpart, allowing both of them to land aside one another in a tumble in the streets below.

"You forget yourself and I will not suffer this indignity a second time!"

There it was, hidden under the cloak of fog, sitting in the palm of Timebreaker Moonblade's left hand: a fully charged temporal copy of The Charm Lord's Priviledge. Without a moment's hesitation, the desperate magus thrust his right hand forward, allowing the temporal copy to place the ring on his free ring finger. The rose-topped ring barely grazed the top of his glove when one of its many wards were activated, the casting a hallowed glow of rose-colored light.

To say that Moonblade's dose of alternate reality was abrupt was an understatement: For several seconds, Kae simply stood dumbfounded at what she had just witnessed, wiping the homunculus' purple specks of blood from her face in a daze. It was only their combined voices echoing up from the street below that she snapped out of it, rubbing away the stain of lifeblood between the friction of her thumb and forefinger with disappointment.

All that energy spent to ensnare him, and some doppelganger of his arrived in the nick of time to slap sense into him anyway! All she had to show for it was the creeping purple imprint spreading across her belly, and it needled her sorely. "Well fine then, be that way." Kae would just have to do this a different way - one that the parasite, for whatever odd reason, continued to actively resist becoming involved in. Already, it was trying to withdraw further, now reduced to a sling-like strap down her front and behind, the completely taut vines abloom with the rapidly blooming buds of roses.

That was fine. It had been a while since she had exerted the proper scope of her birthright.

She pitched herself off the roof for the second time, following close after the receding eddy of motion left by the pair of Moonblades careening through the dense fog bank. This time, she was ready for the landing, bending her legs elegantly into the impact on the street below and expending the rest of her energy into a brief tumble sideways... right next to the homunculus and his intimate entanglement with the hypesquad version of himself.

There was a brief moment of awkward eye contact as the rest of the people in the street made the sudden and correct decision to vacate the vicinity of these lunatics.

"Pardon." she quipped, and the air around them suddenly erupted in a vomit of pollen, green and yellow in an oversaturating burst around her that would set both clowns wheezing and sneezing uncontrollably, as well as blinding them for a few seconds. That should be enough time to stand up, torque to the right... and kick the real Moonblade directly in the side of the face with her four inch heel.

Kae was no softie, either - below her layer of appealing cushion were very real, athletic sinews just waiting to flex. It might not be quite as flashy as the mage's boot explosion, but she could kick like a mule too.

Unfortunately, regardless of how blessed Grakav had found himself in gaining this reprieve from an aerial assault -- the non-temporal variety Omi was not literally mesmerized in place unmoving and unknowing to a large quasi-lizard-beast bursting down and then across the room. Impressive though it was to retain its bearings in the surprise attack it had been administered, maneuver its limbs with weaponry to help halt its descent, take note of orientation when entangled with a holiday decoration most fortuitous, and then flinging oneself across the room while realigning its weaponry all without missing a beat---

The fact remained Omi Barsait was never unable to complete a relatively simpler and quicker to perform action of exiting that front door. Something he was already keen on doing given his position in an out of bounds territory, even more interested in getting to when dealing with the brief sexual tree incident, and as a green blur began its weapon-fusing melee barrage--- deftly did the door shut where a body was just a brief moment ago.

CRKKKTT

Yes. Omi excused himself in the nick of time and let the door, assuming the full blade of his cobra nemesis would reach that far, take his lumps. No doubt with it shut, he was safe. Forever. Unfortunately, he did not halt to take solace in this eternal peace, palms thrusting into his pockets before smacking the sides of the door-frame's outer edges to fling him out of the stairwell onto the foggy road ahead in a mad dash to get the hell away from the threat behind him without pause.

Closer to the ground, said cloudy vision would prove unfortunate... if he ever intended to stay there. The outline of the building behind him however, presumably two stories tall, was not so hard to make out. This was no amazing strategy. This was no set of divine tactics.

This was [SNAKESHOTS!!!]

User Image Active - 1 Token, 2 turn cooldown.

Producing three serpents clustered together with standard rope thickness, these fire out of Omi’s body and proceed to “bite” an unattended object together.

These bites do not actually puncture, instead sticking to even concave objects without incident. They can stretch out at a duration of 40 feet/turn or 50 MPH -- but then can be withdrawn to his body at twice that speed, 100 MPH. If desired, he could continue stretching them indefinitely. They have no known limitation in reach, only a rate limit.

They do not directly deal damage, although Omi can find clever uses to make them nonetheless dangerous. They cannot interact with attended objects or persons, and if grabbed by an opponent (or grabbing an opponent), would stop expanding + become the equivalent of a mythril chain Omi could exert his own physical strength on and nothing more.

They maintain a sustained cost of 1 token until removed from play.

SPECIAL INTERACTION - Omi cannot activate Serpentine Fire on this.

Again assuming two stories, that at most is perhaps thirty feet high to the rooftop ledge. These easily surpass that. And away by his right hand gripping that crimson ray of hope... grapple hook Omi begins to go!

Yet strangely, his left hand wasn't grasping this makeshift vehicle to the top. Instead, it was making a "V" with its index finger and middle finger, as though preparing to poke someone in the eyes. Given Omi's back was to the building his assailant would no doubt be on his heels from, this wouldn't exactly make very much sense.

> Emerald Fire > > Ally Enhancement Cost: 10 mana per spell or ability. > > Moonblade's specialty and the most readily recognizable use of Emerald Fantasia. While the enhanced spells take the form of emerald green fire, they function very differently from mundane flames. The burning sensation and wounds inflicted by Emerald Fire are caused by the corrosive energy eating away at the target's organic matter, leaving behind burns and charred/destroyed flesh. While this creates significant heat to the affected areas, Emerald Fire is partially an acid-based effect. Emerald Fire does not normally effect inorganic materials like metal or stone and, unlike regular flames, will not spread over flammable surfaces. Emerald Fire will never ignite the target even if it overcomes the heat threshold to do so. > > > > Emerald Fire normally inflicts burns to the target as though it were an 800ºF flame, though it can be empowered further. For every 5 additional mana Moonblade spends on this ability, the effective temperature of the attack goes up 80ºF. This amplified effect lasts for a single spell or one post, whichever comes first. > > > > Note: Moonblade can do impossible things like burn a segment of oil away without lighting the entire area on fire. The author acknowledges that this has hilarious implications. > > Note 2: Emerald Fire will affect most polymers, including plastics and rubbers, as they contain organic compounds. > > Note 3: No matter how hot Emerald Fire gets, it cannot possibly affect anything that is inorganic in nature even if the surrounding area would otherwise be hot enough to do so. > > Note 4: Fire and Acid Resistance apply to only half of the effective damage each. Having immunity to both acid and fire renders the target immune to Emerald Fire.

An eruption of emerald flames burst from the impact point, a five-foot radius hemisphere blasting away and hurling anyone or anything too close to the magus (such as Kae). A wave of emerald flames rolled along the ground, both immolating and threatening to stagger anyone unfortunate enough to be in the radius. It was fortuitous then that the spectators had cleared the immediate vicinity, indubitably in part to the fact that Moonblade was known for his mid-range area of effect magic. The nearby fabric stall was devastated, the stand and all its contents completely uprooted and irreparably damaged by the swath of acidic green flames. Those caught in the shock-wave fared better, weathering the wave of flames without completely immolating.

Kae may note, were she for some reason paying attention to such things, that the flames appeared to have no effect on mineral items such as metal or stone (such as the building or the uprooted metal posts). Pollen, highly flammable as it oft was, likely wouldn't fair as well. With any luck, both the melee strike and cloud would be countered in one-fell swoop.

:: Timebreaker Moonblade, for his part, stuffed his hands into his pockets, jumping away as the combat got personal before fading into the fog and the recesses of time. ::

Kae could not find it in herself to be surprised, as midway through her tensing upward to chamber her kick, she suddenly found herself airborne again. Instinctually, she drew on powers she had left dormant for years, letting the rapid expansion of roiling green flames propel her away like a catapult instead of allowing it to consume her. Nonetheless, they scoured up her shins and the back of her calves, charring and eating away her shoes to uselessness. The symbiote would have found this upsetting, but the time for seduction had passed, and she didn't need them to look good.

A flagpole whipped past her face, and strong gymnast's arms caught the metal overhand, turning her upward velocity into centripetal velocity with stunning ease. For a brief moment, her form would be backlit by the occluded sun, perfectly suspended inverted atop the banner, before the woman flipped over herself and came sailing back down to the cobbles. Angry red splotches of taut, shiny skin wrinkled and stretched painfully as she landed, but it was without impact. Hovering in place, clad only in the cloying mists and her violet strands arrayed as a halo behind her, Kae bore the countenance of a goddess... and its terrible wrath as well.

Touching down to the street with a bare foot for a single step, the symbiote shot forward from even that paltry impulse, gliding above the street like a frictionless skater, her full leg power moving a 14 pound weight against nothing but the resistance of the air itself. In a moment she was upon the homunculus' prone form again, ending the bizarre hover, and stooping to grab a fistful of his fancy tunic with her left arm, while the right cocked back, palm out, ready to strike or fend 'ere he drew a weapon. Her knee would sink into his stomach painfully, pinning him to the ground.

Active Abilities:

[Repulsor Lift] - show spoilerhide spoilerKae passively floats several inches above the ground while active, reminiscent of someone suspended in liquid. This effect persists over all solid and liquid surfaces, allowing her to cross them with ease, though dangerous areas may still present other hazards that she is susceptible to (radiant heat from lava, acrid fumes from acid, etc). It also means that she cannot exert much outward physical force while hovering, as she is almost entirely devoid of friction with which to resist Newtonian reaction force. Thus, some external force or momentum is required for propulsion, she does not generate it passively. It may be canceled or resumed at-will. -Selectively activated!

Post Damage Summary/Reasoning

Kae displays her gravity powers blatantly for the first time, and attempts to pin the homunculus to the street. Emerald Fire did a number on her shins and calves, inflicting a bunch of first degree burns. It's gonna need some vaseline. Turn 2 of Ring Out.

Bob leapt to the final building and hardly slowed as he rushed over to the low-wall looking over the market street below. Before his better sense could get the best of him, he vaulted up on the ledge and darted over to a pipe running down one corner. While moving, he caught a brief glimpse of some sort of activity down below as a few bystanders seemed to panic and move away from what he presumed had to be Ferris. It was all a bit hazy through the fog, but the cloaked market dwellers did cut through the obscuration just enough for him to get a rough idea where Ferris was, at least for now.

Unfortunately, the pipe Bob had seized hold of as an easy way to scale down the building was simple guttering, bolted to the wall in a few places rather haphazardly. He was less than half-way down when one said fixing point cracked alarmingly and the whole pipe threatened to fall away from the wall, giving him only a moment to pick a soft landing point and leap clear.

The cheese merchant was not pleased.

Crashing down through a market stand and crushing countless wheels of precious cheddar, Bob let out a startled yelp. His helmeted head clipped wood and thunked back and his whole body rolled rather ungracefully off the brie and mozzarella, leaving his clothes smeared in a few places with dairy products. To an almighty tirade of abuse, Bob nobly gained his feet, dusting himself off even as he ran towards Ferris, drawing his half-empty can in his right hand and another can of silly string in his left.

As he closed on Ferris, the man would likely realise the danger he was in and beat a hasty escape. However, his options for flight were, at least for now, slightly limited. The crowd of shoppers still passed around him, making simple horizontal flight a risky prospect. He had to go up before he could go anywhere else, or so Bob assumed, so as soon as he was within thirty five feet of Ferris Bob would start shooting his full can straight above the flier, hoping to catch him thoroughly as he departed upwards with sticky string and impede his escape. The half-empty can he seemed to prepare to throw, holding it behind his head. And all the while, the cheese merchant yelled in his foreign tongue about the dairy hating neanderthal who destroyed his shop.
