Cherry Solo - Toriyoga Wrote:> Basic Information > > Name: Cherry Solo > Race: Artificial Human > Apparent Age: Twenty-two > Actual Age: Five > Height: 5’11” > Weight: 630 lbs. > Eyes: Blue > Hair: Also Blue > Skin: White > Hometown: Old Midgar > Date of Birth: October 21st > Alignment: Chaotic Good > Affiliation: None > Rank/Job: Vigilante > > Appearance > > Cherry Solo was born five years ago when the President of Shin-Ra Industries used the powers of a weakening Elyk Adalai the Judge to rid herself of those aspects of her personality which she felt were holding herself back, including but not limited to an excess of morality and empathy. Unbeknownst to her those burdens survived, and in the mire of power unleashed during the fall of Midgar and the birth of Neo Midgar they claimed a host body to call their own. Though the newborn Cherry clashed with her better half almost immediately, the unburdened President was more than capable of overpowering her wayward clone, yet in a surprising twist she allowed Cherry to survive. Born already in full bloom with memories of life she could not understand and a mission she could not fulfill, Cherry stumbled off determined to find a reason to live that did not involve following in her former self’s footsteps. > > From the outside Cherry is a perfect example of a healthy human female with two arms, two legs, and a head. She’s on the tall side and is somewhat lacking in the curves that define her gender but those were frivolous details anyways. Her skin is white, casting an alluring glow in the low light of night and appearing sickly during the day, and her face is pretty though distressingly symmetrical. Her eyes are a cold blue and her foot length hair is a deeper shade therein. All in all, Cherry is pretty woman with an athletic build if not a tad asexual. On the inside Cherry is a little different, namely when Adalai first gave birth to her she was already a Neo Contact and to that end when Cherry created her own body it was streamlined in order to channel the incredible cosmic power of Adalai and other mighty artifacts like it. Though she is a lean woman Cherry weighs anywhere from two three times heavier than she should depending on the day with the bulk of that being muscle mass, which everything from her bone structure to her internal organs having adapted to withstand the excess strain, as a consequence Cherry requires far more fuel than your average human which amounts to her being something of a pig. > > Personality > > Cherry’s defining characteristic is her strong moral fiber. Cherry is a shockingly honest individual who likes to see the best in everyone who she encounters but pulls no punches when it comes to giving her opinion. She’s given to bombastic reactions and is generally awful at disguising her emotions. Initially Cherry was distressed by her unusual origins and lacked self-confidence, however that doubt has begun to fade, due in part to her efforts as a freelance hero. Of her negative traits Cherry is ignorant of the world, willingly so since she has every memory that her former self left behind, and would rather become a vegetable when not acting on her burning passion for justice. Despite this Cherry had come to understand that the world is more grey than she would have liked to imagine due to some choice encounters with certain individuals she’d rather forget. > > Skills, Powers, and Abilities > > [You Can’t Win If You Aren’t Serious] > > In combat the majority of Cherry’s powers are siphoned from a psychosomatic form of internal energy called Maji, which in itself straddles the line between being psionic and magical. In other words she builds up power inside of her and then manipulates it based on her emotional state, Maji is different for everyone, and in Cherry’s case it takes the form of Divine Lightning. With Divine Lightning flowing through her veins Cherry is a dangerous melee combatant, already her preferred range given her superior physical attributes, and makes for an extremely diverse tool. Additionally because of its supernatural nature Maji is capable of dealing damage directly to the immaterial, magical constructs, or anything else that would normally find itself invulnerable to physical assault. That said Cherry relies heavily on Divine Lightning and while the ability itself is ironclad she does not supplement it with tertiary forms of magic. In essence Cherry will always seek to drag an opponent into close range where her flexibility and raw power can overwhelm them but has always stagnated when forced to deal with enemies who cannot be forced to meet her head on. Does not grand additional bonuses towards interacting with the supernatural, merely allows her to do so without having to jump through hoops. > > >>Cherry begins combat with her battery fully charged at 100% with 1% of her battery being equivalent to 500 amps and her maximum amperage at full charge being 50,000. > >>Cherry charges 5% of her battery every two turns. > >>Cherry is 50% resistant to electric and 25% resistant to heat-based damage. > >>Cherry can recharge up to 15% of her battery from incoming electric attacks depending on scale, this does not stop her from suffering damage. > >>Cherry can activate sonar made up of electromagnetic pulses that can alert her to movement within a 15 foot radius and cannot go through solid objects. > >>Cherry is able to deal damage directly to other energy forms. This includes magical constructs, immaterial creatures such as ghosts, and other beings that would typically be invulnerable to damage. > >>Cherry is extremely durable thanks to reinforced body structure and takes reduced damage from blunt force impact as though she were wearing leather armor. > >>Cherry is able to dull her sense of pain. At no cost Cherry would be able to ignore damage that would leave her winded. She may remove pain completely for three turns and ignore wounds that would normally cripple her. Once this cool down ends Cherry loses her ability to dull pain entirely for the duration of the fight. This only removes the sensation of pain and does not do anything to repair the mechanics of her body, if her arm is broken it’s still broken and if a tendon is cut then its still cut, and she is still limited in this regard. > >>Cherry can recharge up to 25% of her battery if allowed to spend a dedicated turn drawing power from a stationary non-biological source, can vary depending on size. > >>Cherry is able to magnetically call objects up to 50 lbs. to herself for 5% of her battery. For an additional 5% she can summon two objects at once and for additional power she can apply more force. The price stacks with every 50 lbs, that is to say a 100 lb. object costs 10%, a 150 lb. object costs 15%, and so on. If that object is being held the force projected is equivalent to the battery used, e.g. a 50 lb. push against a sword being pulled. > >>Cherry able to deliver power in intervals of 5% on contact with her opponent. This deals damage to a localized area of the opponent’s body and will result in muscle spasms and burns. If contact is maintained for multiple turn this is potentially severe. The electricity in question needs to be charged ahead of time and cannot be added to an action after it has been committed too. Can only be used for a maximum of three turns before requiring a cooldown equivalent to the number of turns used and full contact needs to be maintained for full effect (the palm of her hand on bare skin being full contact) and does not induce complete paralysis. > >>Cherry is capable of leaving a latent charge behind for 5% of her battery. This price doubles if the target is organic. For an additional 5% a pulse can be sent to activate all latent charges at once, they cannot be detonated individually. Can only do this once per turn and can only have three mines active at any given time. The mine in question will cause the immediate affected area to glow blue. 10% is required if the target is organic and 10% is required to detonate it as well. > >>Cherry able to see into infrared and ultraviolet for 1 turn at will with 1 turn of cool down. She must choose between the two. During this time Cherry is capable of detecting thaumatic radiation as well. > >>Cherry can fling a bolt of lightning for 15% of her battery up to 80 feet with accuracy at 80 mph. Roughly the mass of a medium sized dog (50-65 lbs.) and moving at the same speed, capable of piercing defenses with its forked tip and deals heavy electrical damage on contact, if unmitigated can result in severe burns and the like. > >>Cherry can increase her strength at the cost of 10% per each round she chooses to. With a base deadlift of 750 lbs. she can safely increase her strength to 1,500 lbs. For 15% she can lift 2,000 lbs. and for 25% she can lift 2,500 lbs. Cherry can sustain this for a maximum of three turns and this ability requires a cool down equivalent to the turns used times the tier she was increasing her strength too. At maximum effort she would need a cool down of 9 turns. > >>Cherry can increase her speed at the cost of 5% per each round she chooses to. With a base speed of 25 mph she can increase her speed safely to 50 mph. This can last for a maximum of three turns and must cool down for a number of turns equivalent to the time the ability spent active. This does not increase Cherry’s reaction time or reflexes. > >>Cherry can use her command of electricity to glide along on fields of metal for 5% per turn, while superficially similar to a speed boost this ability allows her to execute movements that would normally be unrealistic > >>Cherry can call herself towards or repel herself from metal as a form of movement. This costs 15% of her battery per turn and she can move at 25 mph. Cannot be used on attacks. > >>Cherry can form a construct of energy that is both wider and taller than she is for 15% as a solid object that defend against attacks. The duration is one post but attempts can be made to attack with the solid object during that time. Each construct is equivalent to a steel object of the same size and unlikely to break from anything less than a dedicated heavy assault. Deals mild shocks on contact. The wall in question can only be formed directly in contact with Cherry, that is to say within contact distance, and forms within a turn. > >>Cherry is able to form a five-foot dome of Divine Lightning around herself for 25% of her existing battery, this spreads out from her in a single turn and remains in play for another turn before dispersing. Those caught in the effect are pushed away with the equivalent of a rough shove from Cherry, strong but not terribly severe. > >>Cherry is able to generate large amount of static noise and unleash a sonic attack for 25% of her battery at 125 decibels within a range of 25 feet with decreasing returns therein. This retains the ability to disrupt other standing energy forms including clearing gasses, rendering liquids unstable, and weakening physical constructs. This lasts for 3 turns or less if the structure is attached to a will of some sort. Example being a tertiary arm generated with magic. Deafens opponents and can cause nausea and headaches if unguarded at close range. > > (Note: Cherry can only use one direct damage dealing ability per turn, she can use utility or mobility ability at the same time if the requirements don’t interrupt one another, so she can increase her strength and shock someone at the same time, but not grab someone while repelling them.) > > Equipment > > [Armor] > > Cherry Solo wears a pair of gauntlets that reach to the elbow and a pair of greaves that reach to the knee, each one is made up of segmented plates that can be easily separated with a slight magnetic application and can be flung at the opponent, the tips of each finger end in slight claws that are not ideal for tearing flesh but work nonetheless. Beneath her shirt she also wears a vest of chainmail and over all of that a leather jacket both as a fashion statement and a piece of armor unto itself. Her belt and jacket both have multiple spiked studs set into them, painted blue and just the right size for Cherry to launch in a moment of duress. > > [Halberd, Axe, & Spear] > > Though she preferred to fight with her hands originally, Cherry soon came to the realization that having a weapon on hand was better than none, and two was even better than that. Cherry’s primary weapon is a six-foot-long halberd with a spike at either end and an axe head. Designed in such a way that the halberd itself can channel her Maji without any loss of efficiency and therefore act as a medium for her to cast through. Aside from an impressive durability the halberd can come apart at the center when Maji is applied, allowing it to become a three-foot axe and a short spear combo. Just as with Cherry’s electricity, when channeling Maji the halberd and its secondary weapons are capable of dealing damage as a magical weapon for the purposes of effects that require magic weapons, such as striking the immaterial and so on.
