1Unchecked Twitch

Twitch had expected retaliation, but not quite so quickly as that. There was no space between them, not nearly enough to actually dodge or do much blocking at all. Her own combination landed neatly, the last hit actually connecting and pushing Rox back. Having decided to repeat with a punch but finish with a different technique to capitalize on the stagger, D' moved forward to attack again, and immediately saw the need to lift her arms after a single step. Instinctively her block covered more of her head-- unfortunate decision. A solid hit made her slightly bend and begin to drop one of the arms across her chest; she was able to fully block the hook to the head and nearly blocked the hook to the chest but the attack's speed was quicker than her block. With that, Rox gained the space that she wanted as the air between them; though it would be a half mile on camera, Twitch had plenty of incentive to leap back to what was truly six feet.

She could have pushed through that but Twitch knew any immediate attack would have been much weaker for subconscious fear of trying to protect her now-sore chest. Instead, she decided to more closely match Rox's fighting style. There was something to be said about escalation, and the finger guns used just told Twitch that Rox was ready to up the ante.

"Gh-- fine!"

But not after a sequence of her gritting her teeth before she clenched her fists and started charging her power, to show her opponent that she wasn't the only one that had an aura. Post-production would render Twitch's aura as black and purple swirling flame and smoke, as opposed to the typical burning/electrified light yellow or whatever people were used to seeing, because of course they would.

Special: Ante Up Wrote:

> - By focusing on her aura flow, D' can increase her stored, ready-to-use aura to deliver special attacks more frequently than would be the norm; colloquially, this is also known as "charging the super bar." Requires little else major movement, though she can block some attacks such as light-medium punches or smaller thrown projectiles, or simply accept attacks from a stationary position without penalty to charging. There is no limit to how much this can be done in a match; if she is allowed to charge, she can charge as there is no ceiling to the amount of Adrenaline charges she can have ready to use. The ability adds two charges of Adrenaline with exponential gain per post. For example, a single charge-post will give her 2 charges, but two charge-posts will give her 2+1, three charge-posts will give her 2+2, and so forth.

Rox's starry-brown eyes widened.

“OOO-!”

Her heart threatened to punch its way out of her chest. This was it. s**t was gettin' real!

A lesser fighter (or maybe just a smarter one) might see Twitch's actions and urge Rox to attack. She'd politely tell them that while she appreciated the advice, they could go shove it up their a because there was NO WAY SHE'D INTERRUPT THIS st! Rox knew damned well what letting an enemy “Power Awoo-pu” usually resulted in. She didn't care. If anything, she regretted being unable to match. Not in her current form at least.

"STREAM FAM!" Rox called out to no one, yet thousands still heard her voice. "I NEED A WEAPON!"

Pixie-Senshi asked, and streamers world-wide mashed in their response. The poll ran for about 10 seconds, but the outcome was clear the moment the fight began.

If nothing else, after this fight, Twitch would take a picture with Rox for being such a good sport about letting her have a small charge-up sequence. Though her last opponent bested her, even Artanthos was pretty good about not trouncing her too hard. This was a good tournament, certainly a better field than the more blood-thirsty, insane years of the past!

But ah, that would be for after this fight! For the now, D' broke her short charge for fear that her opponent's kindness would end, and she leaned forward, switching her fore to the right side while thrusting the same hand forward. From her palm leapt a nearly invisible projectile, the air warping as it tore to Rox's center of mass.

Special: Pulse Wrote:

> A thrusting hand distorts air as if it were water, and the ripple effect continues in a straight line; size of actual distortion is 1 foot in diameter. Concussive force upon direct impact delivers the force of two strong punches, and an indirect blow gives the impact of a single strong punch. Moving at a constant rate of 10mph, it has an effective range of 35 feet, after which it dissipates completely. Despite visual distortion, there is no elemental tie to Air or Water. One charge.

Close!

She was too close for a proper reaction!

"–!"

Did Rox just get Hadoukened? She was pretty sure she had! Twitch's blast cleared the space between them near-instantly. Rox caught a glimpse of the projectile. A very brief one. But unless she triggered ULTRA INSTINCT, there was little she could do about it. The blast struck home and the Unyuu Queen just kinda accepted it.

On impact, the air around them rippled. Rox's entire body felt that one, and it was not happy. She nearly collapsed. Nearly. On shakey legs she stood there like a trooper, still a little over 6' away. No retaliation came.

Most people couldn't see Rox's Battle Aura, so the sudden BWAAAAAAAAAAOOOSH effect it released was lost on them. At most they'd witness a few toy cars flip and some of the nearby buildings shudder. However, they could see the pair of sparkly butterfly-like wings sprouting from Rox's back!

If at this point Twitch hadn't already rushed in to follow up her last attack, then she'd notice Rox clenching her fists tightly in preparation for... something.

He was expecting to try and slice through it kind of like butter. Ya know. Tooth from a create capable of rending space ships to pieces should do well on xeno scum yeah?

And it seemed he forgot about Jay, despite her attack failing she still made it over his shoulder and rolled into a crouch behind the massive beasty.

As she was fairly agile Jay would launch forward towards the beast again, digging her left foot into the badly made set floor before turning slightly to bring her left elbow, supported by her right hand for extra force, right into the left upper side of his back, aiming for the kidney there (If that was where they were on an orc.)

That wonderful increased strength as well as the driving force she was putting in would possibly cause more severe bruising internally.

The Black Orc saw the fool on his arm twist his worn leather face into a grin and then slipped the from the appendage only to leave behind him an object that Loppa suddenly desired ta 'ave: a toof. There was a brief pause while Loppa stopped to wonder why he'd do sumfin' so foolish as stab a man before throwing him out of a plane checking to make sure that he was stabbing something of substance.

See, those grisly talons attached to the grizzle paw sized hand wasn't just for show: that was his hand. At least now it was. Long ago, when he was a smaller git, Loppa lost that hand and a good bit of the forearm to a squig's foul mouth. Now he made do with this metal artifice. Just as he was about to play up the theatrics, that woman he had more or less forgotten about suddenly slammed into his back with a mean elbow. In certain circles, 'bows were banned from use, but not this one he supposed. To Loppa it felt like some 'umie blacksmith had beaned him in the back with their 'ammer. He had opened his mouth to begin the acting, but the words caught in his throat from the sudden and unexpected pain. Instead of improv, all that came out was a sigh followed by an exhale. He was pushed off-balance, not expecting a blow from behind, and stumbled away from the duo by two and a half steps, dancing from foot to foot like they were touching hot coals.

His right, fleshy hand, grabbed onto the wrist of his metal falsie and after he caught himself, Loppa howled. Although the sound was betrayed by the look in his squinty eyes. He shot glances left and then right, trying to figure out which of them had stabbed him. The noise coming out of his mouth was low and long, it was supposed to be the sound of a pained groan but in reality it just sounded more like [this](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_XaIuw6K6Q&t=0m18s). Loppa figured that the awkwardness of something his size doing this would buy him a moment or two, and perhaps even beguile the more insane of the two (I'll let you figure that one out) as he gestured about with the dagger still dug into his hand. Loppa at last moved his good hand away from the wrist of his prosthetic and grabbed at the hilt of the dagger, he agonized even louder (same sound, just more pronounced) as he pulled it free and then... ate it. Theater was important to the Orc, but a toof that size? More important.

His groaning was gone as his mouth swallowed the toof, and instead it sounded more like an Italian man's favorite friend when he swallowed apples. Did this infringe any intellectual property? Possibly, therefore the author was choosing to be as vague as possible about who and what they were aping.

"Soz 'bout dat, 'ad ta figguh witcha yew'z was da wun dat 'it me chust now."

Loppa then waggled the fingers of his left hand and smiled. Everything seemed to be in working order. He lifted all five dagger sized fingers up, content. Only for two on one side and two on the other fell over and closed like he was holding something. Dzan may not have meant to do it, but he had clearly touched a "nerve" inside the mechanism that caused Loppa's hand to gesticulate. --I-- His brow shot low and rolled over itself, his smile was sunk. The Green Orc roared and quickly looked at Dzan.

Suddenly sprouting butterfly wings were no bueno, and too much a sign of hitting a power level. Indeed, D' was going to follow up her Pulse to be sure that the power climbing was at least stifled... she couldn't be too respectful of the genre's formula, or she might actually lose this one handily. Running in, D' juked to Rox's right before moving to her left, lifting up her arm and running past to deliver a classic clothesline to the neck.

Whatever Rox was planning to do, Twitch was sure she wanted little to do with it.

Twitch juked.

"!"

Rox's body tensed. She delayed her reaction purposefully, suspecting D' to come at her with another unexpected attack. The clothesline confirmed her suspicions and she raised her forearms in defense. One that managed to protect her throat from the impact. It did little to prevent her from being floored.

Yet, the way she maneuvered her from a seemingly helpless supine position into a sweeping kick was flawless. Almost as if her actions were choreographed as opposed to reactionary. Her right foot lashed out towards Twitch's legs. The floor space on set was huge. Easily more than enough room for the two of them.

Did she get her? Did she whiff completely? Rox didn't stop moving long enough to confirm. Instead, she followed through with the sweeping motion and recovered into a crouch. As she stood, she'd also take a step back. Her aim was to position herself just outside of what she perceived was Twitch's unarmed striking range.

Both arms were up to guard. Her fists were clenched tightly and now noticeably covered in a pair of fluorescent-pink, fingerless sparring gloves. She definitely did NOT have them on before and they clashed horribly with the Unyuu outfit she was wearing.

The infamous "Pixie-Hands" were active. How they'd be applied to the current situation depended entirely on Twitch's next move.

She was only a little surprised to hit with a clothesline; while it was in a group of attacks that one didn't often see in a bout, D' hadn't been too obvious with it. It was a matter of whether Roxy could see it coming in time, and it felt good to feel her arm hit Roxy's body. Even if it was blocked, in her passing Twitch saw her opponent go down-- excellent! Not excellent was the counterattack, feet striking her own.

In response, Twitch's arms tucked to her chest, and she dropped her right shoulder so that she could ukemi through the roll, saving her fall damage. She'd pop up some four feet away, ready to kick if Roxy stepped forward but her opponent instead moved backwards. With that, Twitch rolled her shoulders before dropping to her proper fighting stance: right leg forward, up on the balls of her feet with her shoulders and hips both bouncing and swaying. Part of her wanted to loudly taunt, but something told her to stay silent this time, and just let her eyes and action, or lack thereof, speak for her.

This was a reset of sorts, and as long or as short it would be, Twitch would focusso that when it was time to rush again, she'd be ready to go all out.

Rox stepped forward, leading with a pair of left jabs aimed at the face. Her attack was not so much a bid to do damage as it was to probe Twitch for a reaction. Her hopes were not high. The awoo-mage-fighter-lady had already displayed tremendous amounts of discipline.

She continued advancing, this time lifting her right leg as if performing the same low roundhouse she tried to use earlier in the fight.

An action she didn't entirely commit to.

Suddenly, her idle hand erupted forward with a right cross (still aiming at the face), striking at Twitch with a power and speed uncharacteristic of someone with Rox's build. Guard or not, if the punch hit any part of opponent, she'd feel it.

And if Twitch were truly caught unawares, she'd also be feeling a follow-up hook to the right side of her body coming from Rox's left. The Pixie-Hands were Active. The Pixie-Hands were thirsty. The Pixie-Hands were also sparkly as hell because for some reason they emitted a small puff of “pixie-dust” with every strike.

Twitch could still block when focusing, and Rox would find those first jabs met with the back of her palm; the motions seemed almost absentminded for the lack of movement on D's part. Unfortunately for her opponent, D' didn't need to advance anymore, or wait for Rox to advance or feint. All she had to so was move from a passive role to an active one, making the mental shift to start enacting her plan to rush this girl down. The warning, as it were, would be in her eyes; her normally slit pupils dilated, and while she was previously looking at Rox's center of mass to get the whole picture of the attacks coming her way, D' looked directly into Rox's eyes as her right hand moved forward at the same time Rox lifted her leg. The catgirl didn't know the leg movement was a feint, and had every intention of absolutely interrupting whatever Rox planned to do with a flash and a flame.

The question was, how much Rox was even putting into her feint-- would she still be able to get off her cross? Rox had already felt the Pulse and was surprised by that, but now she had been hit nearly point blank in the chest with a stronger, more flammable version of the same attack. What's more, this one would leave her feeling a little... wanting in the magical girl power-up index.

Of course, Twitch was sure that she'd hit true, and rather than wait for some confirmation she'd move forward as waiting was what she'd been doing for the past few seconds and it was time to show this goody-two-shoes the power of evil. Rox could thank D's previous opponent for granting her the impatience needed to step forward and deliver a side kick to the air in Rox's direction. While it would have been great for foot to meet face, Twitch didn't need to physically hit the girl for the Dust Kick to hurt.

Jay would watch as some movie magic seemed to occur. In a cloud of white smoke Dzan literally poofed out of the area… Because she totally didn’t see the trap door open and the shitty smoke bomb trigger.

Either way it was just her and the Orc now, the woman was a little confused but since the fight was still ongoing she didn’t have time to worry about her teammate.

The Orc was jabbering about the dagger in his hand and about who hit him… Jays lips curled into a venomous grin. Those brown eyes began changing, turning an inky black which continued to fill out the whites and creep over the flesh, spidering out from her eyes to stop just shy of her cheeks. Thanks to the gauntlets he may not notice the blackened hands or forearms.

The predator continued to grin, launching herself forward at a slightly unnatural speed for a ‘human’. Dodging the small cardboard buildings while closing the distance between them (Which really wasn’t much). Just when he might think she had lost her s**t and was about to throw herself into his arms….. Jays legs slid out as she dropped to slide between his bulky thighs, her left hand pulling free the loaded paintball gun. Firing almost point blank at his junk before hopefully sliding out the other side.

If everything went to plan she would continue on through after wards, ending up behind the Orc once again.
