1Better Than Gore

Now that's more like it!

Not even Marcus' rashguard was able to withstand the force of the Carapace's attack; the hand plowed straight through the tightly woven mythril and into the World Eater's torso, Marcus could feel Connor's hand feeling around and clasping at whatever it sought to take hold of. There was nothing that could really keep that from continuing to take place. Marcus' corrosive bodily fluid, if it even fell under that category, immediately began eating away at the Carapace's protective layer. Not just the hand specifically, it went everywhere upon entering the World Eater's body. Gushing from the newfound wound; aggressively eating away at Connor's suit. Marcus' mouth also spewed the bile, projectile vomiting the tar like substance all over his assailant. The Carapace's tendrils also found their target, but they would find that Marcus' rashguard would put up somewhat of a fight before inevitably giving in, more black ichor freely flowed from the tendrils entry points. Likely combating them; hopefully keeping them at bay for the time being.

"My turn!" If Marcus' adrenaline wasn't pumping before... It certainly was now!

The World Eater's tentacles sought Connor's limbs, freely wrapping themselves around any portion of the man's body, establishing quite the grip. They would then begin to tug and pull; aiming to force Connor closer, forcibly shoving the already well embedded gauntlet further into his chest cavity.

Marcus' pupils dilated as the Parasite began rapidly producing mitochondria, mutating his body to an unimaginable standard, that he certainly wasn't used to. A sickening pop echoed from his jaw as it opened far beyond its normal capacity, his teeth elongated and resembled something from a nightmare. Skin ripped and muscle tore.

CHOMPCHOMPCHOMP~

Nothing was safe. Marcus' maw spewed bile and lashed out at Connor's head. Consistently aiming to eat the Carapace and whatever else hid underneath the bone plating.

Would the Worm withstand the Barracuda? Marcus hadn't even been aware of another competitor coming within their vicinity. He was far too distracted with his meal.

A man wearing double metal pauldrons, ruby gauntlets and a cutlass walked up to Tekka from behind, his presence in the realm silent just like his footsteps. Air hissed as the man, Allen, drew a curved sword, pointing it at Tekka. "You there!" he called out trying to get her attention. " 'You will fight me.' " Allen's eyes watered with sadness. Tekka reminded him of someone he loved.

He swiped at the air, pulling his sword aside, and tried to place his left hand on Tekka's left shoulder.

3Red the Ambivalent

There was so much that happened within the next few moments that simply reminded Red of why she moved to a different world. First, a new opponent joined in the fray, 'snuffing' out her arrow that...Couldn't be snuffed. It still went boom, right under the snuffing foot. Second, the stranger shifted his course of attack and did an odd U-turn around her, instead striking towards Omi. Out of complete...She didn't even know, he then switched again to the one who'd tried to snuff out her arrow! That wasn't the strange part, he was...Someone new in the process.

Red had a slack-jawed, confused expression on her face the whole while. Gaia was strange, oh so strange. Even if she had words, there was so little care left in her about this parking lot. Ogelsby had fled right away, Omi---Well she was no longer fighting beside him, so the care went fluttering away there too. It was about time to make her exit, this was exhausting!

Karne

Right hand resting on his forehead as the mage suffered from a violent flood of pain. A sever case of déjà vu overwhelming his senses as his gaze dropped to the black top. The red glow of the arrow still visible as Karne’s heavy boot came crashing down, revealing the inevitable. Delightful the mage thought, a scowl on his lips. A bright flash of light engulfed the man, the rising smoke tinted purple by the mixture of red and blue magic.

Raining asphalt bounced off the rooftops and hoods of nearby automobiles. Heat rising off the hot black liquid as it merged with the glossy coats. “Feels like twice now” Karne jested while emerging from the smoky crater, seemly unfazed. Karne had predicted the explosive outcome, the magic expelled from his combat boot a precautionary measure. It had not served powerful enough to neutralize the blast, but the structured mana did reduce the impact force. The remaining threat negated by Karne’s shell, a thin magical barrier that encapsulated his body. A replacement for heavy armor, this was the mage’s defense against unexpected outcomes.

Mistakes were most certainly made...

The sarcasm was not lost on the mage, as he bowed theatrically during the applause. An undeniable smile forming on his lips, “Omi Barsait, you have successfully made Karne Divil, the fool” Karne declared. His urge to laugh only sated by his canine tooth pressing into his tongue. Barsait’s performance art was a sheer delight and levity to Karne, whom rarely had opportunities to witness such character.

“It relieves me to hear that. I was admittedly concerned, if you had been true to your declarations....that stone.... a mute point now. But since I wouldn’t want to claim possession of your pocket stone, to you it shall return.” Karne said, indicating towards the open sky above the messy haired man. The rock descended from the heavens only to strike the asphalt at the feet of Omi. Despite the man's attempts to get under Karne's skin, the individual known as Omi did speak his truth.

“Sir, you look unwell perhaps...”

Though his attention seemed completely focused on Omi, Karne hadn’t forgotten about the archer or the youngling. With magical shell in recovery, the mage was forced to initiate counter measures for incoming threats. Returning to a casual stance, Karne’s hand came to rest behind his back. The index and middle fingers of his right hand extended out as mana travelled across the tight fitted gloves.

Capable of magic sense, Allen detected the mana traveling between the index and middle fingers of Karne's right hand. Anticipating attacks, and having not forgotten the other warriors in the parking lot, Allen tightened his grip on his cutlass. Without being too hasty, he prepared to engage, even as bits of displaced asphalt peppered his flesh. Lightning quick, glowing blue tendrils of spirit energy snaked their way up the hilt and shaft of his sword.
