Yes, the "kitty" was petting the human. Even while the angry woman's veins turned black and spread out across her pale skin the catlike woman did not seem apprehensive about softly stroking the back of Jay's head. Perhaps it was that she did not notice the danger posed by the woman's transformation or perhaps it was that she simply did not feel threatened by it, her lack of reaction did not give anything away and the blindfold covering Tekka's eyes made it impossible for Jay to catch if she even glanced toward the hands that were growing darker as if she had dipped them into black paint and then held them toward the sky so that it ran down to her elbows.
The truth was that the angry woman made her nose twitch. Tekka smelled the transformation in the woman even if she had not glanced toward the blackfingers, and though whatever unknown type of power was causing it was most likely a very dangerous thing that dangerous thing was not on the back of Jay's head. And so, Tekka continued to pat that head, much like one would pat the nose of a ferocious beast but not put a hand into its open mouth.

"No, Tekka says this once before. Blood is after drink. Drink in house of ale too much like water, Tekka very disappointed. Want better, yes, stronger drink to less disappoint before play game."
The dark-skinned woman seemed quite exasperated at the need to explain how she was not in the mood to be doing things out of order. The beer and ale that they had served Tekka inside of the bar before she had been thrown out had been too weak for her to consider a real drink but as long as she had continued to slide the glass out across the bar the human on the other side had continued filling it and she had been quite thirsty. However, much like eating a meal of only plain bread, she quickly became disappointed with what she had been drinking and asked for a stronger and more flavorful drink; and that was when the human had started making demands of payment.
The catlike woman's ears perked slightly as Jay pressed the remote, in unison with the quiet sound of the button being depressed. Tekka's right ear tilted forward toward the formerly-angry woman, the left pointed ninety degrees to the left following the sounds of the brawl that still continued not far away, as the woman cocked her head slightly at the sight of Jay's hand disappeared into another space. Abilities such as this were not unknown, but Tekka did not smell magic from the place where Jay's black hand disappeared and the magic she had smelled on the hand did not smell like the kind that normally makes holes in the world. Curious.
Nonetheless, when the hand reappeared it held a glass bottle full of dark and clear liquid that smelled of aged paper.

The catlike woman's head was still tilted to the side looking at the nearly blank label of the bottle when she reached her free hand out and took the bottle from the now-generous woman. Though she deftly did so by grasping the bottle in a different place and avoided touching Jay's hand directly it gave the other woman a closer view of the way the plates on the back of her glove noiselessly slid against each other when she bent her wrist. Sliding over each other in layers from the back of her hand almost to her elbow, the thin metal plates were painted black with some type of dull substance so that the only glint that came from the darksteel underneath came from the places where they had been scratched by wear or weapon. Each was separated from the next by a thin piece of aged and soft leather and laced tightly to the fingerless glove by strands of sinew woven through tiny holes at the edges.
The design was almost primitive in its simplicity and materials, and if the plates had been shell or bone rather than metal perhaps that mistake would have been made. Once Jay had sat down perhaps she would have a better view of the catlike woman and see the similar design of the rest of her equipment. In addition to a similar glove on the other hand, she wore similarly built black leather boots that came to mid-thigh with layered plates across the front and heel, a belt that draped a small fin-like shape of plates over each hip and held two crossed sheaths at the back atop her tail with a handle pointed outward to each side. Tekka wore a guard of layered plates over her right shoulder that was held in place by straps connected to a half breastplate over the left side of her chest and looped around her back and under her arm like a harness.
For clothing to accompany the armor, there was little. A dark grey cloth wrapped around her waist beneath the armored belt that draped down in front like a loincloth. A similar cloth strapped over her chest and around her shoulder under the armor. She wore a small cloth pouch on a string tied around her neck that was tucked into this cloth. Last, the blindfold of black silk, worn over her eyes and tied at the back of her head. Although now that Jay and Tekka were both properly standing in the light of the street lamp Jay would be able to see the flicking of eyelashes behind the cloth, showing that it was likely a veil rather than a blindfold.
To the woman herself, Tekka stood at about a head shorter than Jay and was similarly thinner and narrower built proportionate to her stature. The overhead lighting cast long shadows across the catlike woman's muscles, showing the hard definition of each. Her skin was of a dark caramel color, latticed with whitish and gray lines in various places but in particular on her upper arms and thighs where the armor ended. Around her body were also lines and strips of short, velvet-like hair that reached around her arms, legs, sides, neck, and the sides of her face like a human might have a snake or dragon tattoo. Her tail was of the same color, and blended seamlessly into these stripes from one thick patch that ran down her back and split off into the various smaller strips and coils. The hair on her head was slightly more reddish, a rust-color that would have likely been about elbow length if it were not tied into a tightly-woven braid at the back of her neck that had thin hooked metal rods slipped into it every few inches.
"Tekka thanks the you for gift."
Tekka brought the bottle up, held in her left hand, and placed her fist against her heart as she said the thanks. Tekka waited until the now-generous woman had sat down before she looked to her own hands, one holding an empty bar glass and the other holding a full but unopened bottle, and then threw the bar class into the air flipping end over end as it went. In a flash, her now-free hand grasped the handle to her right and pulled it out wide to draw out the kuru'to. The weapon's triangle-shaped blade was thickest at the end and shaped much more like a hatchet than a knife, and the handle of the heavy blade was long enough to reach halfway down her forearm when held at the guard like it was. With a snap of her elbow it came back across and shattered the neck off of the whiskey bottle before the overly long handle flipped once across the back of her hand and she reversed her grip, bringing it back into the sheath at her lumbar area and her hand, once again free, caught the bar glass as it came back down.
Tekka then threw her head back with the bottle and drank the whiskey in one breath while holding the empty beer glass at her side. When it was gone, Tekka throw the rest of the bottle down onto where the broken top lay, shattering it into dozens of shards held together only by the faded label.
"Yes, is much better than water they serve Tekka in this."
Tekka lifted the empty bar glass as she spoke.
