This place is slowly becoming a breeding ground for old souls to be taken and ripped from their mortal coil. All of it surrounds one man, a demon, a lich. Vidunder The Beast, stading now over The Blade Maker and Halycanos of Flame. The last time the two souls met was back when Halycanos did not know of time or dimension. All he knew was that he would be a God among men. And as far as the blacksmith knew, he was just a man able to craft a soul into a blade. Now, the two meet as new men. Griff Morivan, a family man with a big business connection for fighters, and Halycanos Durai, Fighter for White Wolf and employee of Vidunder. "Now, Halycanos, prove to me that you were ever meant to be in my service. Prove to me you were ever a true god!"
"******** YOU!"
"Wrong." Vidunder flicked his wrist and made a claw patern with his fingers, which caused Halycanos' shirt to spew open, the demonic pendant hidden under to glow madly.
A howl was let free from Halycanos' throat as the pendant glows, sending pain through his body. "I won't do this... I... wo..." Halycanos' body began to fall limp, his soul weakened from the attack of Vidunder's Darkness. After a moment or two longer, Halycanos fell to his knees, his body actually smoking from the energy that sapped him. "...What..."
"...What the hell is happening?" Griff stood, baffled and confused, though standing with gun drawn, ready to fight. Something told him, though, he'd have to resort to primative weaponry.
"Now, stand, and stop defying me any longer."
Halycanos stood shakily, slowly. His once blueblack hair was now black and many times longer, almost down to his hips. It was stuck to his back like it was drenched in sweat, or, more likely from a freak like Vidunder, blood. His skin was slowly and silently etched in various symbols, from Alchemic to Zen, every mystic language was carved into his being so that he could take out any soul he crossed. "What would you like, master...?"
"Do your job, and I'll see you when I need you." And with that, Vidunder exploded from the Lichly form on a cog to millions of bats, flying off as fast as possible.
Griff stood there, seeing Halycanos in the shape he was in. He'd recognized him from HoH2k5, but never met him in person. And now... Urgh... Something deep in his gut made him feel like he would vomit. Like he knew this person somewhere else. "...what did he mean, Blade Maker, Halycanos?"
"He meant a past life of yours, Morivan. One in which you made many swords, including one that will kill you." From there, Halycanos produced his signature rapier, Hellfire. But something wasn't right with it. It was twisted and letting off more demonic energies than it had at HoH. Somehow, though, Griff knew it.
"...I made that?"
"Indeed. You even made the sword you're holding on your back."
Griff stepped back a couple feet, pulling free his Damascus Blade, looking alove the shimmery blue blade, watching Halycanos. "...If you come at me, I will be forced to kill you."
"Then send me on to where I belong. I will be with my siblings. But that won't happen. Not now.
Here, on the stage of destiny, Griff Morivan becomes thrust back into the world of fighting, the world of chaos. Halycanos Durai forsakes his peaceful life for the glow of immortality under Vidunder's thumb.
Halycanos was the first to strike, his blade rushing forward, clammoring across Griff's Damascus, which was all that stood between Hellfire and Griff's skull. Moirvan pushed back on Halycanos, shoving him backward. Griff, being dressed in street clothes, had to be careful. Any hit could be fatal at the moment. So, with another clash, Griff diverted a second stab for the face, pushing Halycanos away before following with a left hook, which connected nicely with Halycanos' jaw.
Halycanos snarled, throwing bloody spit across the cog as he stumbled back to the ready. Unlike Morivan, however, Halycanos was out to kill. And if that meant that he would have to stand for a moment to summon forward a gush of flame, so be it. With the energies Halycanos had stored in his demonic pendant, he was able to quickly call out a rush of magma which scorched across the feild, devouring anything not metal in it's path.
This, naturally, would include Griff, but with a quick upward jump onto a seperate cog, he managed to get above before jumping down to slam Halycanos with both feet. Landing square on the chest, he was sent into a back spin to recover, where he launched his wings to keep him up until the lava had washed away. Halycanos, however, was not so ready to just drop it and die, standing quickly, he would bring his blade up and over his head to slash at Griff, who could mearly block with his foot, sending him spinning backwards, stumbling until he got hold of himself, swooping down to collide angerly with Halycanos. Both Hellfire and Damascus fell to the ground.
Griff was spinning the entire time as the flew along, flying through the air with the weight of a full grown man was enough to take it out of him some. He had to keep flight until he got to Dur'em Caves, where Halycanos brust free of the grip, grabbing Griff's ankle before they fell. Griff pulled his wings back in and kicked Halycanos in the head, landing with a sharp spin, which ate the recoil of landing. Halycanos, on the otherhand, landed with a superman-esque, both-feet-on-the-ground SMACK.
Here, it came down to who could throw the most punches, both getting into a full face to face punch out match, where Griff was easily outmatched by the toned and psychoticly motivated monster. However, Griff made it out with an edge, accidentally slamming his fist into Halycanos' pendant when he meant for the jaw. Nonetheless, Halycanos curled in pain and screamed, stumbling back quickly. "GRAAGH!" Griff looked down to his fist and nodded. He then proceeded to start slamming his fists into Halycanos' pendant, trying with all his might to crush the blood ruby, all in his mind being survival. Every punch hit Halycanos enough to scream until he grit his teeth and blocked Griff's punch before ramming him, running along the ground with a scream. He ran for miles, picking up speed as he ran, Griff helpless on his shoulder before the run came to an abrupt stop.
Halycanos slammed Griff into the north wall at the Reclamation facility, actually flipping over him to land on the wall before slamming him into the water, where both were helpless. There, Griff floated for a minute or two, his hands thrashing at the water before he finally got his cool, looking around the well lit pool. But Griff saw something headed for him that he did not like.
Halycanos could only assume that after ten minutes, he had successfully killed Griff, and so he turned to the west, heading back for Dur'em. However, only three steps succeeded before he heard a splash and a monsterous howl, in which he turned to see what appeared to either be a very small Leviathan, or a really ******** big Moray Eel coming at him at an alarming rate. Not thinking of the reprocussions, Halycanos sent out a rush of flame magic, which effectively cooked the beast, but left him open when Griff came up right behind the fish, slamming another fist into Halycanos' nose, which made the whole face almost tuck inward before he went sailing back, spewing blood.
"Fu...ck...er... huff..." Griff muttered, drenched to the bone in that cold water. "That... was ******** nasty!"
"...you... lowly... reptile!" Halycanos screamed out in anger, flipping into a crouch, his body low to the ground to rest.
~~~~~
Not far off, three people rest upon the southern gate for Dur'em. One, a tall man in a cloak, covered from head to toe in black trimmed with gold and red. "...Is the enemy lined up yet?"
The second was a woman in a militant garb, her hand holding a berreta at the ready, acting as a spotter. The last was a second woman, also wearing military garb, her hands holding a sniper rifle aimed for the Reclamation Facility. "Target in sight, sir. Seems he's in contact with one of our agents... General Morivan!"
"What did you say!?" The first man quickly snatched a pair of binoculars from the ground, looking out at the target. "...Damn. Morivan, get out of there, what are you doing!?"
"Take the shot, sir? Neither is moving!"
The man hesitated, watching. "...Yes, take it now!"
"SIR!" And just as the bullet almost launched, the whole gun, no, the woman too, were all envelouped.
"The ********?!" both shouted at once, jumping back as ARDS quickly scarfled down the sniper and rifle, making a low buzz of delight. "...Damn... It's ARDS. We need to take it down!" the cloaked man shouted as he pulled off his hood, exposing himself as Terran Maxwell, currently acting out his role as leader of the Gaian Ally Threat Elimination unit, or GATE. Quickly, Terran dropped the binoculars and let his fingers burst into flame, his hands working into fists to rush in and attack the ARDS entity.
The woman turned, raising her gun to unload at ARDS, each shot hitting the chains and simply falling off. "Dammit." She quickly ejected the clip and rushed back, allowing Terran to divert it's attention while she loaded one of the Magi-clips, adamanite rounds loaded with mana stone shavings, making for random elemental damage based on the actual stone used to make, hense, random. She popped it in and raised the gun, quickly letting off five rounds. Two red flashed, two greens and a blue.
Several more rounds were fired before Terran finally shouted. "******** that, take the shot!"
The woman hesitated before turning her gun at the general location of Halycanos, launching three bullets with as deadly accuracy as possible. Meanwhile, Terran and her would be forced to wrestle down ARDS.
~~~~~
"Play on, my puppets." Stood Vidunder at a secret local somewhere on the continent, watching through use of specific magics with a smile. "Meanwhile, you three. Get to work. You've got a lot of progress before you can come back to this world."
"Yes Master."
"Yes Master."
"..." There, on another view stood two dragon like beings and Roland, all of which standing in the twisted world of the Void.
~~~~~
Halycanos stood, looking at Griff with a scowl. "I will kill you, Morivan."
"You're not doing too well yet." Griff scoffed, his hands at the ready before he goes right into a rush. First move was a simple left kick followed by a right punch, both of which whacked Halycanos head on. All he could do was block each of the hits, before letting out another howl. Three bullets smacked his right arm, sending him off to the side. Griff blinked and having seen the flashes of color, he knew what kind of bullets they were. "...Terran..." Griff took this chance and sprouted his wings, knowing full well something was up. He was already on a stake out mission, but one thing after another was going wrong. Griff wasted no time, busting in a rush to see the stake out spot.
~~~~~
Terran slammed the chain monster in it's fake jaw, currently fighting Enki's style. Slamming his fist against the chained Naginata, Terran managed to knock the freak back with a roar. Lastly, Terran came around with a charged blast of flames, which scorched ARDS until it tumbled right on back to the edge of the ledge, falling off. Terran huffed and puffed, standing like he'd won something special. Looking over the side, he saw the chained beast fall before flying off into the night in the direction of the Facility. "...Damn, Griff, get the ******** out of there." He then turned to the girl, who promptly treated their injuries.
~~~~~
ARDS wasted no time to carry out his master's order, rushing along the ground until he came up to where Griff had rushed onward, both actually swooping past each other. Griff looked back, confused, his eyes trying to catch view of the thing before it disappeared on his horizon. Griff only stared for a moment, flying off to the arch. His eyes watched the ground as he flapped tiredly. "...I haven't done this in too damn lo-OOONG!?" He was quickly snatched by a cold grip of chains, and felt the warmth of a body. Halycanos.
"********."
"********."
The three now hurtled back to the clock tower, as per Vidunder's command. They all splashed through the hole Griff had flown out of in the first place. ARDS, quite un-graciously, simply dropped Griff on his a. Opposedly, Halycanos was dropped and simply managed to roll along, snatching Hellfire as he did. Griff, unfortunately, was no where near Damascus. Stumbling to get to his feet, Halycanos took no wait to get to his, rushing over and slicing Griff across the chest. Now, naturally, his hands are shaky, and he missed the depth needed to actually kill someone, but Griff is easily sent sailing, landing with a thud. Halycanos scowled. "You used to be better than this! You used to be worth while! I almost got you last time, but you skated past me! ...Not today." Halycanos walked slowly, deliberately. "Pick up your sword, you curr!" Griff crawled on his a, trying to get his legs to work with no success. All the while, Halycanos grew closer before he was above Griff, looming. "TAKE YOUR SWORD! Die like a man!" Griff patted his hand around, curling his fingers around the handle, and Halycanos raised his blade. "...And die."
BANG!
A purple flash went off infront of Griff, right on Halycanos' chest, which made his shout and threw his balance off. In one last act of despiration, Griff lunged himself forward, pounding Damascus through the demonic pendant hanging to his chest and his heart at the same time.
For a second, time stood still, at least for Griff and Halycanos.
~~~~~
On the archway, Terran stood with sniper rifle in hand, the casing to a stun round in his other. The female luetenant with him was layed out, exausted.
~~~~~
Vidunder stood in his observatory, chuckling gently. "...Wow... wow oh wow."
~~~~~
Griff pulled the blade free of Halycanos, who stood there, his blade tumbling to the floor with a clatter. Griff could only pant, dropping his blade with exaustion. Halycanos simply laughed.
"What's so funny?"
"You don't know a whole lot about us, do you?"
"Nothing... I don't even know you. Except from HoH."
"Heh... Look up Hollow. Look up Griffen Atolicus Morivan."
"...That's my name."
"...Look up Lionel."
Griff nodded, stepping back. The air in the tower was begining to get cold again, all swirling in around Halycanos, the wound on his chest and pendant sealing up. For a second, all was still, and then Halycanos simple closed his eyes.
Griff stood back, covering his face as Halycanos exploded and red lights shot straight out the window. Only two things remained of Halycanos, his Demonic Pendant, the one which housed his soul, and Hellfire, his famous rapier, which uses the evil power of his pendant to kill his enemies without effort.
